My place is right in the Village centre to the side of Quintessentially English our organic soap shop. You'll love it because of its location. We leave a breakfast basket in your own personal adjoining lounge room for you and a selection of our organic handmade soaps. There's a lovely view from the window of the garden opposite and if you are really lucky and they are filming in the village you just might see a movie star! Additional free night for half a days gardening!
It's a perfect base to explore. Lacock is close to Bath and also only 45 minutes from Stonehenge and 20 minutes from Avebury. It's also close to Castle Combe one of England's finest villages. There's lots to see in Lacock it's home to the world renowned Fox Talbot museum of photography and beautiful Abbey.
The accommodation is right in the heart of the village, Lacock Abbey is only a four minute level walk. A selection of interesting shops and restaurants are also within the village. It’s also only twenty minutes to Bath.
  • Was very impressed with the apartment and the style. Had everything that was needed and was clean. Hosts were great and welcoming. Ideal location in Lacock. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

  • What a charming apartment. The owners were easy to get in touch with and very pleasant throughout. Parking was simple, just on the street outside. Had a whole floor to ourselves, with a private bathroom, lovely sitting area and the comfiest bed in the bedroom. Very stylishly decorated with lots of personal touches. The breakfast basket was great for the morning. Recommend the Red Lion for food! Was a perfect one night stay to visit the abbey.

  • Quiet (except for a slightly excitable dog, at times), old but very interesting house. It’s age was a plus for us. It’s like a small apartment. Hosts very friendly. Would recommend.

Hi, This is our first full year renting out this lovely quiet and well equipped home. We decided to keep the price low, as we would rather have lots of lovely guests, than have our beautiful home empty. We have tried to think of your every need and if we have missed anything, please let us know, we welcome your input. My sister took particular time and effort decorating the house and laying every brick herself until it was to her satisfaction. My niece Kim keeps it clean and welcoming!
The decor is light and airy. Every room has been recently updated with new paint, carpet and beds. The Kitchen is light and bright and a true pleasure to cook in or to just sit at the dining table and chat. The living room, bedrooms and bathroom can all be easily accessed by a wheel chair or walker. All the beds are new and have duvets.
This is on a quiet well-established small housing estate. Situated on a corner with a beautifully landscaped garden. The Patio is quiet and secluded with a fire pit, barbecue, seating and umbrella. The back gate has been modified so that pets cannot get out.
  • Lovely home from home. Great amenities and thoughtful extra touches. Great wifi, lots of board games and DVDs in the house. Thanks for a lovely stay!

An amazing space in the town centre, opposite Chippenham railway station! Huge comfy mezzanine bed, modern kitchen/dining, lounge with hammock, study, gorgeous stone bathroom - the perfect base in the west country!
This building was the stables for Monkton House before the railways arrived in 1850. Now converted to a spacious studio apartmentm it is a beautiful, if unconventional space, high ceilings and open plan. It features: * super comfy king-size bed with memory-foam mattress, hand-made mosaic hardwood headboard * beautiful stone-tiled bathroom with huge shower * study area with hand-carved Mexican desk, Herman Miller chair, free wifi etc. * hammock in lounge to relax or swing (it's super strong!) * fully equipped modern kitchen * sofabed for extra guests (small double, 120cm wide) * beautifully restored 1960's sliding doors allowing the room to open to outdoors (summer only, unless you like the cold!) The studio is situated just across the road from Chippenham railway station, with direct line to Bath, Bristol, London etc, and buses to local villages such as Castle Combe and Lacock (Harry Potter). Being in the town centre, all the shops, restaurants, and takeaways are a minutes walk away. There's also a cinema around the corner. It's a fantastic place to stay... so make yourself at home!
Being right by the town centre there is lots to see and do, and yet the apartment is tucked behind the garden of an old cottage making it very quiet. For outdoors there is Monkton park just next which door offers a great space for walking, running along the river, and there is a golf course and health centre with pool, spa, squash courts, and full fitness programmes all available on pay-as-you-go basis. A few minutes walk away is John Coles park which has a band stand with live music playing in the summer months. Both parks have excellent childrens playgrounds. The old town has plenty of character, and there is a museum giving free tours, and a comprehensive tourist information office. All 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
  • The place was great with a great vibe. It’s extremely close to the station, making it very convenient. Very close to the park too which is great for dog walks. It was a little cold in the apartment this time of year but definitely manageable! Overall, a really great stay. They were also really accommodating with an early check in and offered to keep our bags past check out time :)

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location close to the station, river and shops, comfortable bed and stylish space with everything you need to cook a meal. There’s even a hammock to relax in! Hope to visit again soon

    Aaron2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful, architectural and great value place to stay at. Right by the train for easy ride out to Bath or beyond. You cannot find better.

    Paul2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was lovely and a really cool place to book. Only thing was parking, £6 a day over the road in a pat and display car park but apart from that was nice. Bath is close by and would recommend going there. Absolutely beautiful city

    Patrick2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, 2 minutes from train station and literally minutes from local shops. A lovely quiet space. I would definitely stay there again.

    Samantha2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is nice, big and clean. It has everything needed for a short or long-term stays. It's also stylish and full of little details that I loved. It's close to the train station and bus stops + shops, river and a park nearby. Traveling with train to Bristol is 25 mins., to Bath - 10-15 mins. Check in is easy and independable, Alex is a great host and responds fast. Enjoyed my stay and can definitely recommend.

    Valeria2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A very enjoyable stay a very spacious studio very close to train station, but no noise. Very clean and ideally placed. A great host with all the essentials and great recommendations. Easy to follow check in. Safe. Would highly recommend.

    Peter2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is unreal. Is is a minute away from the train station and town centre. It’s interior is even better than on the pictures and is equipped with all white goods needed to making a living. I would definitely stay again if needed. Best Airbnb I’ve ever rented, it did exceed my expectations.

Spire View is a lovely 2 bedroomed house situated in the garden of our eighteenth century stone cottage. During June, July & August our guests have sole use of our small heated swimming pool (12x24ft) & can wander in our wildflower meadow. We are a fifteen minute walk into the famous National Trust village of Lacock. Spire View is 25 minutes by car from Bath, 40 minutes from Bristol and situated between the Cotswold AONB and the North Wessex Down AONB with Salisbury and the Plain to the south.
Spire View has two bedrooms – one kingsize bed (with an en-suite shower room and toilet) and one twin bedded room. There is a separate shower room and toilet and a fully equipped kitchen. These facilities are all on the ground floor. Upstairs is the main living and dining area with extensive views over the surrounding countryside. The property also has a small heated swimming pool (8.5 x 2.5 metres) for use in June, July & August (weather permitting). Users of our pool must agree to abide by our Terms and Conditions relating to its use for the safety of everyone. The picturesque National Trust village of Lacock is a ten-minute walk either across the fields or down the lane from Spire View.
Our 18th century stone cottage used to belong to the Lacock Abbey estate . We are surrounded by pretty listed cottages and there are fine views across the fields. Chippenham is about five miles away with several restaurants and pubs and a sports centre which includes a heated indoor swimming pool. There are several large parks in Chippenham with Monkton Park having the river Avon flowing through it. In Melksham there is a large soft play centre for younger children. We are very lucky to have many excellent pubs in the villages surrounding Lacock, details of which can be found in Spire View.
  • One of the most enjoyable stays we have ever experienced. Vivienne was very welcoming and a lovely host. The accommodation is really lovely and well equipped. Lots of personal touches and generous extras like butter, milk, eggs, teas and coffees, condiments, bread and biscuits. Vivienne was incredibly helpful and she really went above and beyond! Thank you for taking time to discover more about The Tiny Barn, a self-contained studio set in rural Wiltshire. The Tiny Barn is newly refurbished and believed to have been built originally as a gardener’s bothy and store. The Tiny Barn is a cosy, open plan studio with ample natural light and high quality finishes and fittings making this a comfortable and perfect location for couples or a single traveller to enjoy what Wiltshire has to offer.
The Tiny Barn has a kitchenette with a two ring hob, built in larder fridge and a combination microwave (includes grill and convection). There is a gas-fired combi boiler providing heating and hot water. The TV is a ‘smart’ TV. The WiFi is dedicated to The Tiny Barn and has no data restriction. There is a dual USB charging socket. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided as well as bathroom toiletries. One side of the full size double bed is against a wall. There is a separate WC with basin. The compact shower, approximately 600mm square, is tucked away round a corner and is open to the studio’s sleeping and living areas. Parking is located immediately outside the studio. The Tiny Barn does not have its own dedicated/private outside space but there is a bench to relax on from where to enjoy the surroundings and the wonderful view.
Studley is a small hamlet with stunning views over rural Wiltshire. There are three pubs/restaurants locally, all walking distance. Bowood House, the stately home with Capability Brown-designed grounds and also with hotel/spa and golf club, is very close, either by a short drive or a longer walk. The Sustrans NCR4 is a short walk or cycle ride away. Avebury and Lacock are a short drive away. Bath is quite close, easy to drive or a 11 minute train journey from Chippenham.
  • The little barn is a lovely comfy clean space. Very nice location and well furnished. Exactly as described thank you very much

    Brett2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely place. It doesn't feel small inside and has everything you could need. Really quite, private and lots of little touches that make it even nicer! If you are a bigger person, the shower cubicle might be a bit tricky as it is quite small. Other than that, gorgeous!

    Abigail2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with local advice as booked at the last minute. The barn was a great space, extremely quiet, clean and comfortable and was a great location for Bath and the surrounding areas. Great value for money and would stay again if in the area.

    Dean2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny but awesome! The owners have managed to pack all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay in a small footprint. The space was immaculately presented, and precisely as described. The communications with Nicky & Mark were very quick, and they were extremely accommodating. Very highly recommended.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful tiny house to stay in! The Tiny Barn is nestled in the countryside with stunning views over the fields. Despite its small size, the Tiny Barn has all the mod cons anyone would need for a short stay. It was perfect for our work trip with only a 10 min drive to Calne. I would recommend staying here. Also the local Nepalese/Indian restaurant is fantastic!

    Pilyn2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The 'Tiny Barn' with a big heart. We arrived during storm 'Ciara' and the barn was thankfully warm and cosy. The Barn has a well equipped kitchenette with a large fridge. The decor is beautifully done. The bed is very comfortable, comfy lounge chairs and a great place to eat overlooking the pretty countryside. The Barn was sparkling clean and had everything you needed. Nicky & Mark were great hosts, their communication was instant, they were discreet but there if you needed them. We would certainly recommend this property and would love to stay here again.

    Sarah2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This will be a long but necessary review. As the first guest to experience The Tiny Barn, I feel I should give details for future guests to know exactly what's in store especially when it comes to the size. Understand, this lives up to its name. Therefore, space is limited. I'm 5'2" and everything fit perfectly for me. If you are taller and require a ton of space, do not book, then complain. Be well aware there is a 10 minute walk to the closest bus stop. If you want seclusion, this is definitely it! Those are NOT negatives, just things to be cognizant of before your visit...otherwise...everything was/is immaculate! I wanted a week away from the city and was provided an excellent country tiny cabin. The bed was comfortable, had every amenity needed and great wifi service! Nicky answered any question I had and was available when needed. I was able to cook meals, store food in the fridge and use Netflix effortlessly. If you want a beautiful secluded retreat, this is your place! Not a sound and meters and meters of gorgeous country. Would definitely return!

Charming attic room and single room in the heart of Corsham, a historic Wiltshire market town full of character. This Grade 2 listed cottage is set back from the road with a beautiful walk down the garden path to the front door. It is packed with charm and decorated beautifully with antiques and comfortable cottage furnishings.
Within an easy, flat, two minute walk from the high street Bences Lane is well situated for visitors to explore the beautiful surroundings. There are several fantastic local pubs on the high street. The attic room is a very atmospheric and relaxing bedroom supplied with a kettle so you can make drinks and a television should you choose to stay in and relax. This is a great place to base yourself to explore Corsham and all of it's riches. If you are a Poldark fan then you are a 2 minute walk from where some of the street scenes were filmed. There are plenty of local places that serve superb food. Jan will be here to welcome you and answer any questions you may have. There is a local shop at the top of the road that sells freshly baked bread! Corsham has a stunning local stately home, this cottage was formerly the gardeners cottage for Corsham Court. It dates back to 1752, so it is a great example of rustic Georgian architecture.
Corsham is a bustling market town just south of the Cotswolds with plenty around to explore such as Castle Combe or Bath for those wanting some city culture.
  • Jan was very accommodating as accepted the booking just an hour or so before I stayed, so her quick responses were much appreciated. I only stayed overnight and spent time sleeping in the bedroom. Room had a fine variety of hot drinks available. Was spot on for my needs. The Flemish pub was great for food and drinks, but do book in advance.

The Old Pump House is a beautifully renovated space with exposed beams and quirky mezzanine bedroom. It's adjacent to our Grade II listed cottage in the quiet, historic village of Langley Burrell. You'll be just 1.5 miles from Chippenham station (Paddington 60 mins), a 5 minute drive from the M4, Junction 17 (Bath 10 miles, Bristol 25). There's even an award winning pub next door, renowned for its homemade pies and real ales - a perfect spot to relax after exploring the Wiltshire countryside.
In the current climate we want to re-assure guests that we take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. As well as carrying out a deep clean, we also ensure that surfaces/handles etc. are wiped down with antibacterial solutions prior to arrival. A quiet countryside retreat with everything you need to relax and enjoy the surrounding area. The Old Pump House has a lounge, dining area, shower room (powerful shower) and kitchen with microwave and fridge/freezer (there are no other cooking facilities - just a microwave). There is also a private outside courtyard with table and chairs for guests to use. There is a great pub next door, famous for its pies, real ales and home cooked food. The historic villages of Castle Combe (featured in the film War Horse) & Lacock (Harry Potter films) are close by. Bath is 10 mins by train or 15 miles by road. Bristol is 20 mins by train or 28 miles by road. the market towns of Chippenham (1.5 miles), Corsham (6 miles) & Malmesbury (8 miles) offer outdoor markets, shopping/places to eat & drink. We are happy to make recommendations for more great places to visit in the area. Whilst you can get a taxi to the property from Chippenham station (1.5 miles) it is advisable to come by car. This will enable you to make the most of local attractions.
  • Absolutely gorgeous stay! The space was even lovelier than the photos. John was super attentive, brought us fresh pastries in the morning and responded quickly and helpfully to a last minute request for nice walks in the area. Couldn't have been a nicer stay.

  • Lovely getaway very relaxing and great hosts would definately reccomend

    Andrew2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place was really lovely. The location is great for a few nearby villages, Bath and Stonehenge etc. The Langley Tap next door is great (yes, especially the pies). The pastries in the morning for breakfast are a really nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

    Herpria2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean. With everything you need for a short stay. The stairs are steep and the bedroom ceiling is low so this is not the property for anyone infirm or disabled. The bed, however, was very comfortable.

    Ian2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely break at the Old Pump House and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants somewhere clean, modern and peaceful to stay. John was very welcoming and the pastries, popcorn and cream eggs left for us were a lovely touch. The pub down the road serves great food and it was great to be able to walk to it.

    Robert2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend John's place. Great location, comfortable, clean and lovely thoughtful extras.

  • John was an excellent host, and made our stay really enjoyable. The Old Pump House is a lovely location to stay if looking to travel in Bath. 3 mins walk from The Nest is The George Inn on Sandy Lane serving a delicious menu and carvery dinner. Booking recommended and not open on Mondays. A short 2 min walk is the historic thatched church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas, often selling a small selection of local preserves. We have some stunning trails right off our door step. Chittoe Heath, Spye park and for a longer walk - Lacock. Down by the George pub there is a trail which winds through the Bowood lake, into Derry Hill. Or keep straight and you will reach Mile Elm, heading on to Calne, or catch the old railway line into Chippenham. If you fancy a hill climb, you can head for Roundway, which is down past the historic thatched church of St. Mary and St. Nicholas. Jump in the car (or catch the very rare bus) to the close towns of Calne, Melksham or Chippenham. The market town of Devizes is a good spot for a bit of shopping and food.
  • Wow - this word describes our weekend and our stay at this Airbnb! Expectations have been exceeded, the hosts went beyond and above to make our trip special, decorating the room and leaving us a bottle of bubbly for our arrival. (Birthday gate away) I can totally see ourselves making a return in the future. Thank you.

  • Wow, what a beautiful space in the country. We stayed for 2 nights and can't fault the Nest. The room was clean, cosy, warm and well equipped with a lovely ensuite and everything you need for a few nights away, not forgetting the gorgeous roll top bath! It also had a bonus of having a lovely hot tub and peaceful surroundings. Trevor was great, very friendly and full of advice and made us feel very welcomed. We also really enjoyed the daily fresh pastries for breakfast, thank you very much!

  • The Nest is beautiful, the studio like living space is very spacious with a truly luxurious and relaxing bath to soak in. Everything we could have needed for an indulgent night away was provided, even down to bath salts and slippers. The hot tub was a lovely added extra even on a rainy night.

  • Beautiful space with stunning views!. It was my husbands birthday and there were lots of thoughtful touches. Hosts were extremely welcoming and made us feel at ease. Will definitely recommend to friends and we would stay here again. Thanks again, Sammy and Chris

    Samantha2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I took my husband here for a birthday getaway for a night. Our stay was perfect. Trevor and Lynda made our stay extra special by providing a happy birthday banner, a cute welcome note and bottle of bubbly in the fridge. The place was romantic and charming. We were able to take a nice walk in the countryside and stop at a great pub for dinner walkable to the cottage. We will defiantly recommend to our friends.

    Ariana2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway for a couple, everything was just so good, jacuzzi was amazing at night, fairy lights leading up to it were a personal favourite, just can’t fault a thing

    Danny2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Nest is a fantastic place for a little getaway. The room was spotless and had everything we needed for our 2 nights away. The bed is super comfy and the bath in the room is a lovely touch. The hot tub was amazing and easy to use. Trevor and Lynda were the perfect hosts. They made us feel very welcome and made it clear they could be available as much or little as we needed. There were croissants and fresh orange juice left each morning and they very kindly left us a bottle of prosecco when we arrived (which went down very well in the hot tub) as we were celebrating my wife's birthday. It was the best experience we have had with hosts while using Air BnB. We would highly recommend The Nest to anyone looking for a romantic / relaxing getaway.

  • The nest is a lovely cosy little spot perfect for a romantic getaway. The hosts were lovely and left some lovely thoughtful touches throughout. The hot tub is wonderful. Thanks again

  • Rebecca’s place was lovely, exactly what I needed for my short stay! Would definitely stay again.

  • Rebecca is a great host, welcoming and friendly as are her two cats and dog. Well, maybe not so much the cats, who seemed indifferent to my presence, but that's cats for you! :-) Rebecca's home is exceptionally clean and tidy, the bedroom is freshly decorated and carpeted and the bed is comfortable for those who like a firm mattress, as I do. The house is located in a very quiet residential area. All in all I can highly recommend Rebecca's place and would have no hesitation in staying again.

  • Ms. Rebbeca is a friendly host. She has two lovely cats and a friendly dog. The place is a bit far to walk from the local train station; but the bedroom looks so nice and clean, and the bathroom furniture is just great, definitely better than my expectation. I recommend Ms. Rebecca's place to everyone.

This self contained, peaceful annex is located above a detached triple garage, situated in a quiet rural area, down a 100m long drive. We are easy to find off the main road and there is plenty of parking space. From the front door of the annex you look down across our garden to fields. We are well located for access to the historic city of Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Chippenham.
The main living areas are located in the roof space, above a garage used for storage only. Two large velux windows let light in from the woodland behind. The bedroom has a window in the end wall that overlooks fields. When you enter the annex you will find the shower/wet room and toilet ahead of you and stairs to your right. At the top of the stairs you arrive into a small, functional kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, toaster and kettle. Teabags, granular coffee and sugar is provided but bring your own ground coffee to use with the cafetiere or hob-top espresso maker if you prefer. Up a couple of steps you will enter the main living area which includes a small table that could seat four and a small sofa that converts into a double sofa bed. There is a TV, linked to basic terrestrial channels, a DVD player and a speaker that links via Bluetooth to your devices. In the room beyond you will find the king size bed, a chest of drawers and hanging space. Although we have said that the annex sleeps two, we can, with prior arrangement, provide bedding for the sofa bed and even a thermarest mattress for the floor to make a very cosy, but economical, stay for a family of four. Please be aware that there is no stair gate down the stairs from the kitchen so we do not recommend very young children. There is garden furniture for you to use and again, with prior arrangement, you could use our firepit in our field beyond.
We are located in a lovely rural area and can recommend many great walks. The Quarryman pub is cosy and only a 15 minute walk away. The village of Box, with pub, Indian restaurant and takeaway and friendly cafe is a 20 minute walk down the hill in the picturesque By Brook valley. Beautiful Corsham, of Poldark fame, Bath and Bradford on Avon are all near by.
  • I had such a great stay at Laura's place, it was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy, even looked to see what duvet it was so I could get the same! When we arrived, Laura brought a freshly baked loaf of bread for us as well as providing some milk and butter in the fridge. Her place is perfect for a little getaway and is only a short drive into Bath city centre. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

    Nicole2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time, it’s so clean, and such a great location. The host is really lovely too!

    Evie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Laura's annexe, and it was just as brilliant as the first. Nothing had changed- not that anything needed to- the annexe was wonderfully clean, cosy and relaxing. Laura has thought of absolutely everything. It has a full kitchen, with oven/hobs/microwave/kettle and every utensil you could need. Tea and coffee was provided, as well as some butter, milk and a freshly baked load of bread which was a thoughtful + nice surprise to find in the kitchen upon arrival. The bed is one of the comfiest I have ever slept in! Location is fab, quiet and secluded with some quaint villages nearby and only a 20 minute drive into Bath centre. My boyfriend and I were able to get Uber's to and from Bath, meaning you don't have to forfeit exploring the city for a relaxing countryside stay. Will no doubt be back at the annexe for our next trip to Bath!

Chippenham is in western Wiltshire, at a prominent crossing of the River Avon, between the Marlborough Downs to the east, the southern Cotswolds to the north and west and Salisbury Plain to the southeast. The town is surrounded by sparsely populated countryside and there are several woodlands in or very near the town, such as Bird's Marsh, Vincients Wood and Briars Wood. Suburbs include Cepen Park (North & South), Hardenhuish, Monkton, Lowden, Pewsham, Primrose Hill, Englands, Frogwell, Derriads, The Folly, Redland, Queens Crescent, Lackham, Fenway Park, and Hill Rise, loosely corresponding to local government wards. We have easy access to the motorway (M4) and also train station.

  • Just returned from an overnight stay at Tony and Lyn’s - everything about it was amazing! Amazing location with really peaceful surroundings, 5 minute drive to a great local pub and a 15 minute drive to a big Tesco. They provided everything we could have needed and more - all utensils/cutlery/glasses/plates/tea and coffee and home made fudge and cake. Amazingly comfy bed in a clean and stylish cabin with a smart TV. Amazing hot tub in a private garden. Lovely double walk in shower in a clean bathroom/kitchen area. Lyn and Tony are great hosts, answered all questions and was greeted personally by Lyn. Will definitely be returning, such a fantastic find!!

  • The location is absolutely great, completely in the nature. The private hot tub is amazing and easy to use. The cabin gives you a lot of privacy and is lovely with all its wooden characteristic furniture and at the same time really modern and clean shower and kitchen. We really loved it.

If you love peace and quiet then this is the place for you as we did not want to anywhere else. Loved yhe extra touches with fruit cake which was delicious.

  • Tony & Lyn were great hosts throughout our night stay at their wonderful little retreat. Everything feels brand new and the place was spotless. We got a great sense of being able to relax on our own in privacy but at the same time knowing if we needed any help with anything we only had to ask. The views of the sunset across the countryside from the hot tub were amazing even in the winter - we will definitely be back to see how amazing the place will be in the summer! A great break away from it all, thanks again.

    David2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin with an amazing hot tub, would recommend it to anyone for a weekend retreat. The extra little touches really made it a great weekend. Thanks!

    Richie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Tony & Lyn did everything they possibly could to ensure we had a great stay at their facility. Everything from the quick responsive messages to the home made gifts, we had such a wonderful time although the weather was not on our side. They gave us big umbrellas to use in the hot tub in the rain which was so lovely of them! Tony & Lyn ensured we got the very most out of our trip, and I will definitely consider coming here again in the summer!

Bath towels, hand towels and pool towels (when pool is open) all provided. Minimum stay varies - 2 nights Oct to April (min 3 nights in school holidays), 3 nights May to Sept (7 nights during summer school holidays Sat-Sat, but would consider 3 or 4 night stay starting or ending on a Sat). Mezzanine dining area overlooking the tennis court, lounge with wood burner, TV with sky package and free WiFi. Kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Please note that there are 5 steps from the main living area to the mezzanine dining area off which the 2 bedrooms and bathroom are located. Patio and BBQ next to the heated swimming pool (open May to Sept) and tennis court (open all year). Playhouse, slide and swings for little ones. Large wooded garden to explore. Nearby fishing, horse riding, walks and a pub 5 minutes up the road for food and drink. A 5 minute drive away is the wonderful Bowood House and Gardens with kids adventure playground. Also close to Lacock Abbey, Longleat, the City of Bath, Avebury and Stonehenge and many more local attractions.
We live in the middle of the Wiltshire countryside, on a single track road, with just a couple of neighbours and the pub up the hill. We have a number of public footpaths on our door, one of which is a disused railway line where you can walk or cycle for miles uninterrupted by traffic.
  • What a gorgeous place to stay. We needed to stay close to grandparents and found Marion's property. It was spotless, spacious for a family.of 4, warm and so v peaceful - Marion obviously takes pride in making it as welcoming as possible! We didn't try out the pub in walking distance nor the tennis court nor the pool but we will most definitely be back v soon before it's totally booked up!

  • Marion was great from start to finish. Made us feel at home from the very start, with great communication throughout and also had some lovely additional touches. Place itself is very cosy and homely, would definitely recommend and we will also be returning in the summer time!

  • A lovely little hideaway. The perfect location for feeling that you’re away from it all, when you’re actually only a few minutes from all the amenities you could need. Marion was very attentive and maintained fantastic communication when it came to organising our stay. No request was too much and she happily provided us with anti-allergy bedding, a cot and a high chair to make our stay as simple as possible. The property had a wonderful, homely feel. Everything was beautifully clean and kept so cosy and warm. We’ll definitely be booking to stay again!

  • The Wife and I stayed here as our base for Bath, along with our boy, a 7yr old Greyhound. The Dairy is a beautiful place to be and we very much enjoyed coming back here after our days activities. Francesca really does think of everything, you can tell she is a fabulous host, it really did show! The pictures don't do the real thing justice, a lovely spot and the local pub makes for a lovely meal aswell, would be 10 🌟 if we could ❤️👍

    Leanne2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space in a beautiful village! Not much in the village itself but plenty surrounding it and it’s a great spot to explore the Cotswolds. Sadly it rained for us but we’ll be back in the Summer hopefully to make the most of it next time!

    Gemma2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, really nice place to stay and an all round great weekend away, would thoroughly recommend this for a relaxing getaway to the countryside

    Mike2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this stay! The air bnb was beautiful - stylish but cosy and Francesca was really helpful. The little touches such as lovely toiletries made it even more lovely.

  • Amazing stay and wonderful host! Thoughtful touches (snacks, tea/coffee) aroma therapy amenities, beautifully decorated dairy, spacious bathroom and cosy reading corner. Local access to Castle Combe and Bath. I would highly recommend staying at Francesca’s place!

    Celine2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice space in a really nice location. Francesca was a lovely and welcoming host. The only problem for us was getting the temperature in the shower right as it was either too hot or too cold. Apart from that would definitely stay again.

    Emilia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay in a truly beautiful quaint village - what a way to experience the wonders that the English countryside has to offer.

    Antonia2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem of a place. Me and partner are totally in love with Biddestone and I’m very happy that we got introduced to the area and it’s thanks to Francesca’s place. Francesca was a great host and is very prompt at responding to any queries. Her and her husband were warm and very welcoming. There is no network coverage in the area but there is Wi-fi at the property which was a saviour! The local pub down the road was also very welcoming where we met few of the neighbours who were all so friendly. A very comfortable and lovely little place, and we will be returning soon. We miss Biddestone already!

The North Transept is part of our converted Victorian Gothic church. We've done all the conversion ourselves - the high ceilings and beautiful Gothic windows make it a unique space. It's in a small hamlet called Chittoe, in a beautiful hidden valley in the Wiltshire countryside, surrounded by fields and with lovely walking from the door. It's easy to get to local towns like Devizes and only half an hour to Bath. We provide continental breakfast with fresh ground coffee and a range of teas.
Coronavirus outbreak: We are cleaning all surfaces down with disinfectant, along with door handles and other areas that people may well touch. The north transept is very self-contained so other than meeting and greeting you (that we will do at the obligatory 2m distance!) you will have no contact with us. The North Transept is a self-contained annex of our Victorian Gothic church, The Old Church. The church was built for the local country house estate in the mid 19th century and was deconsecrated in 1980. We have been converting the church since 1988 - it is our family home. The North Transept has its own separate entrance from the outside into its own lobby which is a good place to leave your coats, shoes and boots. This then opens into the North Transept space - an impressive double height living and dining area. On the ground floor there is: a comfortable living and dining area; a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, coffee maker with beans, and plenty of worktop space; a bathroom with bath and shower. Stairs lead up to a mezzanine which has a comfortable king size bed with hanging space and drawers. At this level there is a large beautiful Gothic window which looks out onto the old graveyard and beyond to open fields. The whole space has beautifully high ceilings with exposed beams but is warm and cosy with underfloor heating under the stone ground floor. The sofa on the ground floor level is a double sofa bed, for which bedding can be supplied on request. Access to the North Transept is step free with wide doorways making it wheelchair accessible; wheelchair users who are unable to get upstairs would be able to sleep on the sofa bed. The North Transept has Wi-Fi, telephone, smart TV and an audio system with bluetooth so you can play your own music.
The North Transept is located in Chittoe a quiet hidden valley with lots of lovely walks directly from the church and many others just a short drive away. It is in hamlet of less than 20 houses and on a no through lane so it's very quiet and peaceful (apart from the sounds of the owls, pheasants and Muntjac deer!). As well as walking and enjoying the peace of the countryside, there are loads of other things to do in the area. Nearby are: the market town of Devizes with Wadworth Brewery and the Kennet and Avon Canal with its famous Caen Hill flight of 29 locks; the National Trust village of Lacock which has Lacock Abbey and has been used as a set for various films and TV programmes; Bowood House with its famous Capability Brown gardens and golf course, spa and children's adventure playground; the Neolithic stone henge monument at Avebury, Silbury Hill, and the West Kennet Long Barrow; the picturesque village of Castle Combe; the historic market town of Corsham with Corsham Court; the market town of Marlborough; the Georgian City of Bath is about 35 minutes away; Stonehenge is about 40 minutes drive; Salisbury is about 1 hour away. There is a variety of places to eat nearby including village and town pubs and a range of restaurants. There is a well stocked farm shop about 5 minutes away, a village shop about 10 minutes away, and a range of supermarkets within 15-20 drive.
  • Great hosts as always, highly recommended, Spotlessly clean.

    Rob2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great host highly recommended, just a shame it was only the 1 night stay as I would of loved to stay longer. Definitely will stay again.

    Rob2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The North Transept is beautifully converted and it is a warm, comfortable and well-equipped place to stay. Its location is perfect for enjoying the countryside or visiting the nearby towns. Sarah was very welcoming and had plenty of local recommendations for places to eat out and things to do. For staying in, the kitchen has everything you might need, the bed is very comfy, and the apartment and garden are simply a lovely place to relax and enjoy some peace and calm.

    Myles2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place was fantastic! The converted church is beautiful and unique, and the host was extremely friendly and diligent.

    Tom2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, quiet and unusual - perfect for us!

    David2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The North Transept is absolutely beautiful! The grounds, too, are very impressive and the setting so tranquil and picturesque. Wonderful comfortable bed, toasty underfloor heating, all the amenities you could think of; all in a truly unique setting. Tara, the goldie, is an added bonus - lovely cuddles when you're missing your own dogs! Don't hesitate to book - you will love it.

    Rachel2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a quiet get away to relax this is the perfect place in a quiet village. Everything needed to for a comfortable stay. Bed was very nice too ! Great pubs local that do great food, and not to far away from Bath.

Kellaways House Cottage is located in the small village of East Tytherton, Wiltshire close to the nearby market towns of Chippenham and Calne in the north of the county. Its rural setting provides a tranquil atmosphere without being too far from local amenities. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists, but if you want a bit more excitement, it is also perfectly situated to explore places further a feld in Wiltshire, East Somerset and the South Cotswolds.
Kellaways Cottage is adjoined to Kellaways House, our family home. The buildings were once part of the Moravian Church, and has had many functions and interesting occupants. Kellaways House was built in 1785 initially as a home for single sisters of the Moravian Church, quickly becoming a girls school a short time afterwards. Educating women in these times was very progressive. The school continued until the outbreak of the Second World War, where it became the temporary headquarters of the Moravian Church in the UK during the Blitz in London. After the War, it soon became a private residence being owned amongst others by modernist artist Richard Smith and perfumer Mr Fidges. Kellaways House Cottage was a later addition to the school in 1830s, originally for the headmistresses as their quarters and study.
East Tytherton is a small, friendly village, surrounded by low lying farmland and hills. At the heart of this active community is the village hall and Moravian Church, which hold regular events. It is a popular place to stay for visitors wishing to enjoy the surrounding countryside, either on foot or cycling. It is also strategically placed to explore nearby market towns of Chippenham and Calne. Slightly further afield is the UNESCO city of Bath, the historic prehistoric sites of Wiltshire, and the beauty of the South Cotswolds. Locally we have several good pubs and restaurants in nearby villages, and we are very lucky to have an award winning Maud Heath Vineyard right on our doorstep.

  • Excellent facilities, beautiful location, extra touches, quiet rural setting yet close to Chippenham where I was working. Super drive up from Dorset. Chefs in the local pubs don't always work on Monday nights.

    Patrick2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • A dark, stormy November evening, rain and wind...in the distance the warm glow of lovely fairy lights...a wonderful welcome from our hosts...a key and entry into the most beautiful annex. Books of every topic and cozy reading chairs...a wood burning stove...a hot bath which could be in any 5 star spa hotel and a marshmallow soft bed. Rejuvenated in 24 hours. A perfect stay for a short break or a longer holiday. We totally recommend.
