“Punta Balbianello is a promontory that sticks out into Lake Como near the town of Lenno. This promontory can be reached via a beautiful trail that winds from the bay at Lenno through some gorgeous woodland – this walk is a highlight and is perfect for those who enjoy hiking. Located on the Punta is the Villa Balbianello – this Baroque villa complex was constructed during the 18th century over the original site of a monastery. From this villa you are granted with some sublime views of Lake Como – the various terraces open out onto the lake and you can see for miles across to the opposite shore and the towns of Vergonese and Bellagio.”

Historic Site
“The Castle of Vezio has been standing for a more than a thousand years at the centre of Lake Como, on a cliff overlooking Varenna. It is an ancient military outpost of early medieval origin built by the Lombard Queen Theodelinda to defend and control the lake and surrounding villages. The castle is situated in a militarily and commercially strategic location which dominates the entire centre of Lake Como and which is why it has been inhabited since the Iron Age. It was associated in the past with the town of Varenna and connected to it by two long walls that once surrounded it up to the lake shore, protecting the village and its people during the frequent wars and looting that shook the area during the Middle Ages. Partially restored in the mid-twentieth century, the castle today includes a lookout tower with a square base, accessible through a small drawbridge and visitable up to the summit, surrounded by quadrangular walls with partial angular tower. Surrounded by one of northernmost olive groves in the world thanks to the effects of temperature of the lake’s waters, the Castle, which normally can be visited from March to November, hosts temporary art exhibitions of various kinds in the garden and, within the tower, a permanent exhibition on Lariosaurus, a prehistoric marine reptile that came to light for the first time in the world a few hundred meters from the Castle.  you can reach the Castle walking along Sentiero del Viandante or climbing up from Varenna.”

Amusement Park
“The park is made up of five paths with different difficulty levels (Civenna has 5, Margno has 4). The difficulty is based on the height of the trees and by the type of obstacles that connect one tree to the next. After being equipped with harness and helmet, under our staff supervision, you will be brought to the Briefing area, where you will be given a demo and where you can get comfortable with our four demo walkways. Now you’re ready for some adventure! You will then perform the walkways on your own, supervised by our instructors from underneath.”

Salad Place
“"For something a little different, head to this congenial, easy-going spot near Como's waterfront. Famed far and wide for bountiful, creatively topped salads, La Vita also serves up good pastas, grilled meats and seafood, and a fine paella. The small space (and glassed-in terrace in front) fills up nightly, so it's best to reserve a table in advance.”
