“Lots of places to visit - charming fellside villages, walks and bike rides. Highlights near Appleby: The Pikes - Murton, Dufton and Knock - not too strenuous - but rewarded by fine views. High Cup Nick - "the Grand Canyon of the North" - perhaps a bit of poetic license! But a great walk from Dufton with a cosy Pub at the end (or the beginning!) The Stag Inn. Pretty Fellside Villages, including Dufton, Milburn and Melmerby (home of the Village Bakery) ”
