It was a very wonderful and memorable experience for me and my friends. Although it was raining on our first day, we still enjoyed our stay at Casarina Verde. It is a beautiful house and the location is perfect, the rooms are really nice and very clean and the house is complete with all the amenities you will need. It's a perfect vacation place for family and friends. And also Ms. Yna was very nice to us to have a late check out due to bad weather on our 1st day. We would love to stay here again next time and would recommend this place to my friends. :)

Casarina Verde is more beautiful in actual than in pictures. It's very serene and well-kept. I love the view where the house is surrounded by trees, a green scenery. Also since it's the only house in the block, you could choose to either enjoy the quietness of the place or make some noise and have fun. Sarina (owner) is very accommodating whenever we have queries and she makes sure that we would have a comfortable stay in her place. Ate Angie (caretaker) is also always ready to help us out during our stay. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and it feels like we're in a hotel. Basically, the house itself exceeded my expectations. Although I have comments regarding the check out time, when we arrived there we thought that the check out time is 12noon but the housekeeper informed us that the check out time is 11:30am. Also another one is the availability of batteries for the karaoke/magic sing, upon arrival we were told that there are no batteries to be used for it so we needed to buy batteries outside the subdivision. These may be minimal comments but hopefully these could help for further improvement. :)

The place is a lot better than I expected. There will be no dull moments because there's a lot the place offers -- swimming pool, kubo, campfire site, karaoke, recreation area, piano, stacks of magazines, poker table, pool table etc. The place is clean and has a homey feel as well. The host is very friendly. I left my compact camera in the house but got it back thanks to her trusted housekeepers.

Everything was set and ready when we arrived. It wasn't really hard to get settled in and the place was really clean and beautiful. Globe service isn't available and only Smart has signal. A runner was available to get last minute supplies and it really was very helpful especially if you've forgotten to buy some stuff. Communication was very good between us and the host. Definitely a place you'd want to go back to. :)

It was so relaxing that we just stayed in the house and eat and do whatever we wanted. A single night was well spent.

In a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, id say it was a perfect ten. The place is exactly how its described, and its very clean, which is important to me since i have 3 kids in tow. The view is breathtaking especially at dawn, which is perfect to pair with your favorite cup of coffee, sipping it while gazing out to taal lake ;) the kids had a blast scooting around the neighborhood, and playing their favorite ball game in the wide open space in front, at the back and the sides of the house. I'd recommend this to anyone. Thank you Johnny and Alma for being such excellent hosts! I will sure book this house again. PS. The road going to canyon woods is another trip bonus for the adventurous at heart ;) you have to try it for yourself!

The moment we get in, we had the care taker waiting for us to open the house. Both the hosts and the care taker were very attentive on our concerns. They are very kind and they keep on tracking where we are to ensure we are heading on the right track. Too bad some local folks showed us a long route..

Best value for your money, suited for large group! The house is clean, the water pressure is strong, everything is as described. The place is quite, and the view from the veranda makes it even more relaxing. Seems that everyone loves the house for they did not complain the absence of wifi (nice view is enough huh!). The only set back (for we came from Tagaytay) was the not passable road repair… konti nalang eh, andun na! There's air-conditioning, great shower (although the toilet's flush is a bit weak), you can cook, and it IS two minutes away from a beautiful, quiet beach + lomihan on the side (a 20-peso tricycle ride away) and the housekeeper at the place is nice too, so A++ for indeed a "cozy staycation" hahaha. Also, if you have any responsibilities like you have to go to church that weekend, there's a church and a kapilya near by :)

One of the best trips I've been to. Perfect place for people who love to relax along the beach of Lemery and see the Taal Basilica and the ancestral houses in Taal.

The place is good, and beautiful people. Her mom gave us "mangga hilaw" which I really love. They told us to go to the places like Tampuhan Cafe and Churches. (Btw, some of the tourist places has an entrance fee.) We love the places and the food is good, well recommended (Tampuhan cafe and Don Juan boodle House). PS their place is hard to find because they have no street "Zamora street" HEHE.

The place is just a 5min walk to the beach but this beach is under maintained and people just throw their trash everywhere. There's also a waste tunnel directly polluting the sea. The ocean view is still magical but the beach is really dirty. I hope the government and the locals do something about this alarming situation.

We wanted to spend some time by the Batangas beach but have a comfy and safe place to stay in. Thankfully, Anndrea's place offered both. Our room was cozy and private. It had all our basic needs. It was also secure within a compound with friendly neighbors. The place was also just walking distance from the beach (free entrance!), which was really convenient. We were able to see the sunset and lounge along the shore. If you want a quick and affordable yet cozy and comfy getaway, try visiting Anndrea's place :)

We had a great stay in Anndrea's apartment. It's fairly close to all the attractions in Taal and very close to the beach. The people in the neighbourhood were very friendly.

My family had a great time. Big house. Quiet and peaceful. A breathe of fresh air. Caretaker and house attendant were very helpful too. My mom, mother-in-law and lola enjoyed the fruit bearing fruits: macopa, indian mango and papaya. Everything is available from pots to pans to condiments and even mineral water. Just a tip, while waze is helpful, going to and from the place can take a bit longer due to the road construction so better have food to binge and water to drink coz it can take longer. Overall, we are satisfied.

Anna's place is really a relaxing place to go to if you really want to have time away from the city. Very scenic as well :) House itself is good for bonding with your family or friends because of its open floor plan. Really loved it!! We also got fresh fruits from her backyard which is quite amazing!!! Definitely worth the money :) Thanks again!

Great stay overall. Price is a bit high in my opinion, but in Philippines, this is the price to pay. Anna Lisa and her staff are friendly and available to help you spend a good time. Barbecue is very convenient (still it lacks of light at night) Still, simple but great and peaceful location.

Our family had a great experience in Josie's house. It was big and can accommodate all of us. The only downside is that we were not allowed to use any of the country club's facility due to strict implementation of their policies. We cannot blame Josie as it was just recently advised to them. The house is very well maintained, clean, and complete of daily essentials. Location is perfect for resting and recharging. The caretakers were also very helpful and easy to get along with, they were very accommodating to our needs and always willing to assist. It's also a plus that the chapel is a minute's walk from the place, so we were able to hear mass during our weekend stay. :) I would've said that having no wifi (and mobile signal's very weak) was a setback, but it actually helped us appreciate our vacation more. Rooms were excellent, enough rooms for 4 families with some extra sleeping areas in the common areas - kids even had a tub to "swim" in so they were happy. Though the road going to the house is a little hard to get to, it was well worth it! Niña's place is a large, quiet lovely home in Batangas slopes. The day breeze is cooling and evenings can be quite cool even in the height of summer. We loved our stay here. We were an extended family of 14 with seniors, tweens and toddlers. Plenty of comfy beds with spring mattresses (yay!). Sheets and beddings were new, if not newly cleaned. All 4 rooms have bathrooms ensuite with heated showers. All toilets have bidets. The house has a large open layout for the dining ang living areas where you can hang out and enjoy the breeze from Taal Lake and the view of many trees and birds singing. Most afternoons we spent in the living area or balcony relaxing or napping. Well equipped kitchen in the level below. You just need to plan the meals and supplies carefully because there are no convenience stores to 'walk to'. Nearest house is about 100 meters away and the neighborhood is quiet with just some small motorbikes making their way through the hilly terrain. We would come back given the chance. A great place to catch clean fresh air and 'get away from it all'. Thanks Niña!

Really a good place for a family seeking a nature trip. Location wise: due to the landslide in diokno highway, we had to take the other way around.(talisay rd) Another 45mins to the trip but it was all worth it coz we saw taal volcano face to face. The place was super cozy. Beds are okay. You just need to bring extra blanket and pillows if you want to. No need to use the electric fan because it's super cold at night. If you're going to cook they have cooking tools provided and also they have free drinking water and water dispenser. Communication wise: the caretaker was friendly and replies right away and also the owner replies instantly. Since the place is in a high place, 3G and LTE internet signal is bad. Over all stay: 8/10

I have never felt home away from the city for a short weekend trip. The house is exactly how it ws described. It was a bit humid when we arrived at the place cuz it's summer but our 2nd night and morning was a bit colder. The wind blowing around and through the house will give you that snuggly feeling with the family. There was no cable or a good data signal but it was a wonderful opportunity for our big family to share a good laugh by their spacious dining area and terrace. We had difficulties exploring the neighboorhood cuz our transpo service did not stick around but we were blessed to have a reliable help from Analie and her hubby to arrange a shuttle for us to go to the clubhouse and use it's facilities. (Analie and Hubby were our Go-to peeps for everything. They were superb!) Alma and Johnny were prompt on replying my neverending queries :) They've been so helpful with all the info and things to prep what we needed to enjoy our stay in their lovely home. They made us feel we're relatives whom they entrusted their house to. It was indeed a home away from home :)

A century-old house, “Casa Regalo de Boda” or “Wedding Gift House” is the most gorgeous, most vibrant, and most nostalgic among the two dozen remaining ancestral houses of Taal. It was a dream come true to finally spend a night, pretending to be an Ilustrado, in my most favorite traditional Spanish-colonial bahay-na-bato in the historic town of Batangas. The house was built in 1870 and was originally owned by two of the wealthy funders of Philippine Revolution – Don and Doña Villavicencio – both hailed from Taal’s affluent families. The whole upper floor has sunny bright and beautiful interiors – the walls and ceilings are mainly painted yellow and enhanced by curlicues, fleur-de-lis patterns and murals. They look so warm, playful and whimsical, very pleasing to the eyes. The sala furnished with life-size mirror, chandelier, figurines, tables and art nouveau chairs with carved faces, paintings, lamps and grand piano is a showcase of fine elegance and opulence reminiscent of Victorian era. The cuarto principal has a charming four-poster bed, a study area and a prayer nook filled with numerous religious figurines and a mesa altar. The room where I stayed is a smaller but equally exquisite room with enchanting bamboo and butterfly wall design. It is also equipped with an American period toilet. Staying overnight comes with a hearty Taal breakfast in the beautiful comedor. Ate Raquel, the wonderful caretaker, personally prepared the rich and thick mainit na tsokolate, and the sumptuous tapang Taal and daing, with rice and eggs. Though I haven’t met Ms. Joyce personally, she’s a warm and very helpful host.

A great place to stay if you'd like to get a glimpse of what it was like to live in a house from the 1800s in Batangas

Joyce's home comes with a lot of history. Considering the age of her house it is maintained very well. Even though she was not around, her very polite and helpful caretaker Raquel ensured everything was taken care of. I have a eye for detail and must mention and commend her house keeping team as the place was very clean and dust free. The local breakfast menu was excellent along with their homemade hot chocolate, Filipino tapa and crispy fish.

We enjoyed our stay at Joyce's ancestral house. The house is within walking distance of the Basilica, public market, restaurants and most of the other historical houses in Taal. It has its own gated parking area so you can just leave your car and walk around.

We could not have chosen a more wonderful location to stay in Taal. The city of Taal is absolutely charming; we found it to be the loveliest small city we visited while traveling the Philippines. It was not overwhelming at all, full of old-world charm, rich history (the birth of the revolution!) and friendly locals. The house itself is a living museum, and if you've ever found yourself wanting to move into a museum, here is your opportunity. Every detail of the home is restored and well-kept, and as owners of a Victorian-era home in the USA, we were truly impressed by the state of this home. It is kept just so and pristinely clean. Wake up on an 1870's bed, surrounded by gorgeous antique furniture, enjoy a deep bath tub in a spacious bathroom, walk out of your private room to enjoy the morning breeze on one of any number of balconies, and then go to the majestic dining area to sit down to a royal breakfast. The first morning, we did our best to try to finish it, as it was so delicious, but there it was too generous of a spread, including an enormous pot of the local rich hot chocolate. The location is perfect, a short walk from anywhere you might want to visit within the walkable town. On school mornings, there was a bit of noise once classes started, but you are likely to be up by that time to begin exploring your surroundings. Try the nearby Cafe Feliza, located in another historically important building, for some of the best food in the country! The house's staff was incredibly attentive and sweet, tending to your every want and need. They went above and beyond, traveling to markets out of town with us to oversee transactions, and helping us prepare a special drink to calm our stomachs when we arrived with some internal unease. We felt like extended family by the end and were sad to leave our new friends, and look forward to staying with them again next time we are in the Philippines! Thank you for everything. We spent three weeks in the Philippines and this was one of our favorite experiences. Do not hesitate to travel to Taal and stay here. You will be so glad that you did!

A lovely historic home. The room feels authentic except the bamboo wall decoration which is not of the period (1870's) otherwise a wonderful time machine! Lovely staff and plentiful breakfast. I hired a scooter from Fred which made my daily journey to Bauan easy and stress free. Be aware the house is open to the public during the day. Slightly unresponsive to communications but I'll give the benefit of the doubt due to a new arrival to their family.

Like michelle already wrote a real "off the beaten track" location. The town is not really used to western visitors, which made us quite an attraction for them. This was also for us a very funny experience. We felt like brad pitt and angelina jolie walking around in town. The house is very nice, breading colonial atmosphere everywhere. And a perfect spot if you want to go to the taal vulcano. The caretaker of the house and the visitors, Ellen is a very sweet lady. Very helpfull in everything we wanted, from food to visiting the cathedral and organising the trip to the taal vulcano. She even joined us on the tricycle ride to and from the boats launching point to make shure we were ok and paying the right price. Much love for Ellen! Overall a very nice unforgetable experience, a perfect getaway from manilla in a non commercial/touristic environment.

Ellen - the caretaker who lives in a small house at the bottom of the garden was lovely, friendly and helpful. The house itself was amazing - a very old Spanish colonial villa with incredibly high ceilings, enormous rooms, and beautiful furniture. Recently renovated. Wonderful garden which we were able to enjoy, and great outside eating space. Taal city itself is full of history and has some nice restaurants. Visit to the largest church in Asia - St Martin of Tours - is a must. traditional Batangas breakfast of suman and hot chocolate made by Ellen was delicious.

I feel very blessed to have had the pleasure of staying in Anna's ancestral home. It was an amazing experience and a very cultural one Everything from meeting the family learning the history and spending time with beautiful Ellen who made us feel very special and showed us around Historical Taal as well as organising us a very unique experience of riding horseback into the Taal Volcano. We spent 2 nights here and we will surely return when we come again. Good food close by and easy to find. A must for anyone wishing to experience the authentic culture of this special area.

Despite its proximity to Manila, Taal feels like a step of the beaten track. This lovely town gets few tourists but has quite a lot to offer. Our stay in De La Rosa Ancestral House added heaps to the colonial flavour of our visit. It's a bit hard to find so ask for the krisdale supermart. It's only a short walk to the main square. There are a few rooms. We were relocated to a room upstairs which was both lovely and necessary. The first room downstairs was quite damp and gloomy. The welcome by house minder Ellen was warm but by times confusing. We had a hard time understanding one another about stuff like prices, breakfast, etc. but eventually she pointed out some nice spots for us to visit in town which we missed. We hoped to visit the volcano from Taal town but a tour was exorbitantly pricey. All in all it would've been over 120€ for the two of us for a tricycle ride, boat rental, horses, hats, guide, etc. We would however recommend staying at the ancestral house for the Taal town experience and the nice ancestral house. It's just a very charming location if you can do without hot showers and wifi and don't mind a bit of Pinoy noise at night.

The house is centrally located in Taal, a town that is a wonderful surprise for visitors who are not yet aware of its historical charms. Taal is very much "off the beaten track", but well worth the effort of getting there, if you enjoy history & unusual places. Following a volcano eruption in the mid 18th century, the whole town picked up from it's devastated original site & moved to its current location. Ancestral houses abound around town & the impressively "Gothic" & atmospheric Cathedral looms over them from the hilltop that forms the backdrop to the town as you enter Taal from the Lemerys side. All communications with the host Anna were friendly & helpful and the price for the accommodation is very reasonable. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon & were met by the housekeeper Ellen at the huge, fortress-like timber front doors. Ellen showed us to our room & gave us a tour of the house's features, which include the fully restored rooms on both levels; a large outdoor terrace upstairs & leafy & attractive gardens. Ellen was also responsible for arranging our evening meal & helpfully arranged a ride for us down to the lake, from where we set off by fishing boat for the Taal volcano island. Taal volcano is the world's smallest still active volcano & the crater lake is well worth the climb or the horseback ride to the top, which can be negotiated with the locals. We have previously traveled to the volcano island from the Tagaytay side of the lake, and the view from Tagaytay is spectacular, but overall, the trip to the volcano from the Taal side is a much more laid back & enjoyable experience if you get some local help with arranging it. The highly commercialized Tagaytay City also just cannot compare with the town of Taal for ambience. And nowhere in Tagaytay could you sleep in a four poster bed within centuries old stone walls & get up in the morning to stroll around streets filled with equally interesting ancestral homes & public buildings. I recommend this experience to anyone interested in history and an experience that you will not get staying in a regular hotel. We traveled as a family of 3, but the house can accommodate quite large groups and would make an excellent destination for an extended family holiday or a getaway with friends.

The house is like a fairy tale, very beautiful and surprisingly. The host was not at home but she answered always the phone and help us to get a transport to arrive. There in the house, the help was super kind and nice to us, literally made us feel like the owners of the castle .

We stayed as a group of 7 at this house during holy week and it was a lovely experience! Contacted Anna and response was immediate considering I booked the night before our actual stay. It'll be very helpful to ask for directions since place is a bit far from Tagaytay center. Ellen the caretaker welcomed us and showed us around. She was kind enough to attend to our needs. House is pretty big but rooms are quite small except the room on the first floor where we stayed. Despite the lack of wireless connection you won’t get bored as there are family memorabilia in almost every corner of the house. Displayed were lovely photos and the history of the Dela Rosa family. As for the food, it was delicious especially tsokolate. Surrounding area is pretty great too. Taal Basilica was located nearby and there were other ancestral houses which can be visited for a small fee. The area really does take the visitors back in time. All in all, it was a great experience and I would recommend this place for bigger groups for a more reasonable stay.

Pros: - good location - historical building Cons: - most basic comfort - very noisy - no AC - no hot water - bathroom not clean - very dusty - welcomed by the maid, got barely any explanation on anything, never saw the owner - expecting the 6 of us sleeping in the same room and sharing bed without asking (I asked for the room arrangement beforehand but didn't get any answer)

I would like to commend Mr Chong for the fast and easy transaction. His place in Tagaytay was well kept and has a nice view. Would love to go back to Canyon Woods again.

We had a great stay, even though it was just for an overnight booking. Check-in/out was hassle-free, and we got to explore the area from the Peak. The room we stayed in (rm820) was clean and had the complete necessities. The safe's batteries seemed to have died out though, so might be best to bring with you your valuables. Surprisingly, there seems to be a few visitors given that it was a weekend; the clubhouse had a lot of visitors when we ate dinner however there weren't so many people going around the roads and the other facilities which was alright, but could make the roads quite creepy at night since the place looks deserted. Hopefully more people would come and rent out the beautiful houses inside canyon woods.

Mr. Chong's place (The Peak Hotel Canyon Woods) was really great and serene. There are a lot of activities to do. The staff are friendly, they even have a shuttle service. Hope to visit again when I have a time.

Our overnight stay here at Chong's place was very good. We loved the fact that it's on a high floor so the view was really nice. Even though there is construction being done next to us (which Chong advised us about) it didn't dilute the scenery and ambiance of the whole place. The room looked as it was in the pictures. 2 beds enough for 2-3 people or a couple with kids. My husband liked the fact that we were in a secluded area which made sleeping at night comfortable. The only downside is the trip going here which Chong advised us about beforehand. Since the Tagaytay-Nasugbu road going to the place is under construction, we had to take the Tanauan-Talisay route. It took as 1.40 hours to get here but the drive was pleasant since there was hardly any traffic. It's just pretty far. I hope they fix the road soon so we can come back to Chong's place soon. If you're looking for a good alternative to busy Tagaytay and still enjoy the views and brisk weather, Chong's property is a good place to go to.

Chong is very responsive when sending him inquiries. He was very flexible and kind by allowing a 3rd person -our son join us in a 2 pax bedroom. He was also clear on the extra f&b fees we need to pay as being inside the hotel complex. Room is clean and is actually a hotel room at The Peak Canyon Woods resort so housekeeping service is superb. no outside food allowed and they will charge u corkage fees so rather patronize the hotel's f&b services. The bridge road from Tagaytay-Nasugbu highway to This resort was closed during our stay so the supposed 20 min ride from tagaytay centre takes us 1h and 10 mins to go down to Laurel and up again the canyon woods road to the resort. So after the first night we just stayed at the resort and enjoyed the 9 hole golf course with beautiful mountain scenery and also enjoyed their spa services. I hope that broken road will be fixed soon as we definitely want to come back and book Chong's place again. Big thanks to Chong

Beautiful place. Quiet and very private. Manang is very helpful and the house is clean. Pls check passable route first before booking. If you have plans of going around tagaytay, this might not be a good time because of the soil erosion not making diokno highway passable.

This house is simply amazing. You have 4 air condition rooms, a spacious sala, bar and a long dinning table with a fully equipped kitchen at your expense :). The house is perfect for families who just wants to get away from the metro and relax and enjoy tagaytay weather. The alternate route isn't a problem as well since Canyon Woods is only 45min away from Talisay-Tanuan exit from Star highway. Lastly, if you're planning to swim and use the amenities at the club house please do inquire prior at Canyon Woods directly because they'll still need you to pay for daytrip fees.

Very nice place but sad that there are amenities in the clubhouse that were not available for guests. Aside from a 500 Guest fee one has to pay usage of facilities including food which was not consumable . Everything else was pretty good ...

Garrie's house was beautiful, picturesque, cozy and very comfortable. Our family had an amazing time and we would really love to come back :) We've visited other homes in the area but this was definitely better. The place is well-kept, clean, airy, and spacious enough for a big group. The caretaker gave us a warm welcome and was attentive to our needs. There was a bit of confusion with the authorization of the guests but everything was sorted out. The owners were easy to reach and were very entertaining to our queries. Renting this place is highly recommended :)

Where to begin! FarmVille is like being in a snow globe looking out towards the real world. In all, it is a surreal place and certainly not what anyone would expect. We stayed in the tree house which consisted of a bed on the floor and nothing more. The area was still under construction and we were woken up around 6 in the morning. Having said that, the food was delicious (being all organic) and the staff were extremely friendly. Getting there is tough but it may be worth it when it's all complete... maybe

Eric the supervisor was very helpful. We felt that he really cared for your farm. You are so lucky to have an employee like him. Abby and the other staff members were very friendly and welcoming. The electrical outage on our first night was a bummer because we had to eat in the dark. No light from the tree house going to the bathroom. Day tour guests kind of ruined the ambiance in the pool since there were lots of kids jumping around. It would have been great if there was a separate pool for those who stay overnight. Grilled food should be part of your menu (bbq, liempo, tuna, bangus etc). Overall our experience was superb and we will come back once everything is done.

It was a great place. Simple but sturdy and safe. And they let me use the kitchen facilities in the house nearby, as well as the BBQ things. . Very helpful staff and good at. Cooking breakfast! The Spa is under construction as of November 2016 but looking good! A bicycle with fat tyres and a combination lock n chain would have been great

My experience at the FarmVille was not as easy as I expected. The treehouse room was basic but all you needed. Getting there, if you don't have a car or many hours to kill, is a bit of a challenge. They are doing lots of work on the farm so I'm sure it will be great when it's all done.

Will definitely come back!
