“The newly opened food court on the 7th floor has some of Lisbon's best chefs -- the view is nicer and it's less busy than the Timeout Market (Mercado da Ribeira) and there is even our favourite ice cream place Nannarella!”

“Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square) used to be the location of the royal palace, until it was destroyed in 1755 by the Great Earthquake. The royal family moved to another residence in the district of Belem, and the new arcaded buildings became the entry port of the city. Its north side hosts a triumphal arch and one of the city's legendary cafes, Café Martinho da Arcada, a favourite for writers Fernando Pessoa, Almeida Garrett and Eça de Queiroz. The centre of the square boasts the statue of King José I, which is 14 meters high”

Market
“There are lots of different restaurants available, so everyone can enjoy from it. Find a table and then each one goes and gets the food they want. A bit hard too coordinate when everyone's food will arrive so you will probably each eat at different times but worth a visit. It is also great for drinks and there is a club there as well called Rive Rouge. ”

“The church collapsed during a major earthquake. The church was constructed so well that only the ceiling in the central hall collapsed, everything else was in place. They tried to restore it, but then the funding was redirected to other churches (there was a lot of damage). Nowadays the church is turned into a small museum of antiquity: from the finds of the Stone Age, through the Roman Empire to the Middle Ages. As far as we can see, they periodically organize concerts in the central hall ”

“Opened since 1993, it’s a mandatory stop of Lisbon fado’s circuit, for consecrated artists as potential stars or simply for anyone that feels the need to sing a fado accompanied by the sound of Portuguese guitar. Why you should visit it Recovered from an old tavern, framed by dozens of paintings, posters, clippings and tables and benches that are not enough for everyone that wants to hear a fado. If you want to hear some Fado Vadio (Fado that is sang by non professionals), show up on Mondays and Wednesdays.”
