The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Lestitha Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin. Liskeard is one of the few remaining towns in Cornwall to still have a livestock market. It serves a number of small surrounding villages and is the gateway to Bodmin Moor. Liskeard is also the starting point of the Liskeard to Looe railway, one of the most scenic railway trips in the country and a delightful day out! Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A 30 is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty. Reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. The National Lobster Hatchery at Padstow neighbours Rick Steins empire on the North Coast. The Bodmin and Wenford Railway, the first steam operated railway in Cornwall, takes in 13 miles of countryside. Also just outside Bodmin is the Camel Valley Vineyard who have been winning awards for their home grown wine for the past 20 years. The National Trust have a number of properties nearby - Lanhydrock House, Trerice, Cotehele and Antony (used for Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps. Slightly further afield is the Eden Project in St Austell. Bodmin Jail built in 1778, notorious for its public executions by hanging, was the first jail to be built housing inmates in individual cells. The Jail closed in 1927 and is now a museum open to the public, which during the First World War housed the Crown Jewels and the Doomsday Book. To the east is the Tamar Valley, a stunning, quiet, picturesque region with some beautiful villages including Calstock with its impressive Viaduct dominating the village, Calstock Quay was originally used for transportation of tin as there is a deep water navigable channel at the top of the tides, although the construction of the Tamar Valley Railway in the early 20th century led to most cargo being transported by rail. Further up stream is Morwellham Quay with its fantastic open air museum, Morwellham Quay has been awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO, the cultural arm of the UN, and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Originally set up by the Benedictine Monks from Tavistock Abbey in 961 as a trading route to Plymouth via the Tamar. Tavistock is an ancient stannary and market town on the edge of Dartmoor and just across the border in Devon, it has a wealth of fine pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and tourist attractions.

  • My husband and I along with our spaniel Henry spent 4 nights in this cosy barn. Unfortunately the weather was quite bad and we were unable to use the Hot Tub but we made good use of the wood burner in the evening. Highly recommended! The views were amazing and was a great central location for travelling around Cornwall.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely space in a lovely location! The hot tub has a fantastic view and for days when it was wet and cold the fire was perfect. The scones on arrival and tips about the local area were great fully accepted. Everything was clean and tidy and there was everything needed for us to cook as well. Can't fault this place!

  • Fantastic weekend away in Cornwall. The Shippon was spotless when we arrived and Rita was very welcoming offering the traditional cream tea. The hot tub was a fantastic addition to the house and we spent nights relaxing under the stars. Would highly recommend The Shippon for a stay away!

    Nicole2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Shippon and the location was fantastic just what we were looking for. The hot tub was amazing and used most evenings even though the weather wasn’t the best. The one clear night was amazing with all the stars out. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely go back again.

  • This was our second stay at Gemma’s property, we stayed in Peacocks Perch this visit. The decor is stylish and everything is so clean and tidy. The room was already warmed up for us when we arrived which was a lovely touch as the weather decided to take a turn for the worst. We only stayed for one night as a little break, but we very much enjoyed our stay, slept well and it is so quiet and peaceful on the farm. A great base to explore what Cornwall has to offer. We even saw the peacocks on our way out which was absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back!

On the edge of Bodmin Moor but just eight miles from the sea at Looe, Homestead offers excellent accommodation with en-suite plus family bathrooms in a beautiful barn conversion and is geared up to support your activity holiday in Cornwall. Coronavirus: we ensure all key surfaces are disinfected between guest visits and any used crockery and cutlery is rewashed in the dishwasher, as well as making sure you have a good supply of clean towels, soap, tissues and disposable aprons and gloves.
Homestead is a recent barn conversion in a former farm yard, with a good mix of barn features, such as beams and wooden floors, and modern fittings, particularly in the bathrooms, en-suites and kitchen. Under floor heating and wood burning stoves ensure the house is always comfortable. We will make up the beds and supply towels and basic toiletries for your stay.
Liskeard and its surrounding area is an ancient stannary town with much to explore in terms of mining and railway heritage. The proximity of Bodmin Moor means that Homestead is an ideal location for walking, trail running and riding holidays. We are also on the End to End route for cyclists and close to three great mountain biking facilities. Bodmin Moor offers great opportunities for landscape painting and bird watching. We also have a dark sky filled with stars on a clear night. We can give you details of our favourite cafes and pubs.
  • Family of 4 absolutely loved stayed here. The barn was just beautiful and we especially enjoyed the big bath tubs and wood burner! Lots of lovely little touches and Geoff even kindly took our daughter to see their horses in the morning. Superb hosting skills, lots of local tips, and the beds were supposed we comfy too!

    Laura2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • My parents and I stayed at Ann's place for one night whilst in Cornwall to attend a wedding - to be honest we would have been happy to stay much longer! The accommodation is really a home away from home, with all the amenities and comforts you might need. The check in was quick and straightforward and communications easy throughout. This would be a great place for a family or larger group as you can comfortably fit 6 and it would be a great base to explore the area. In short, I would recommend!

    Rosa2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed 2 nights over new years eve at this beautiful home. Ann and Geoff were incredible hosts and provided us with lots of ideas for where to go during our stay, though we spent most of our time simply relaxing in front of the log burner. It's a large converted barn spread over 2 floors, has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the bottom floor and kitchen, lounge dining area and en suite bedroom in the top floor. All rooms are fantastic, clean, warm, spacious and well thought out. The kitchen is really well equipped, has 2 fridges a dishwasher, fan oven, microwave and induction hob. The lounge TV is massive and has access to Netflix and Amazon video if you're a subscriber. Each bedroom also has a TV too. Lots of board games and DVDs are available for use too. And if you stay, I'd highly recommend a pasty from Barnecutts bakery - absolutely sensational ☺️

    Greg2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • You will not find a better place to stay with everything that you need and so many thoughtful touches not least the lovely Christmas tree and decorations. You will definitely not be cold here the wood burner is amazing. Thank you so much Ann and Geoff.

  • Comfortable, very well equipped with a warm welcome. Good.

    John2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm welcome and gorgeous accommodation with a log burner and fantastic open spaces. Lovely comfortable beds and special finishing touches. Visiting in December the house was stunning and decorated beautifully. Thank you we would love to visit again

    Katie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Ann was so helpful in providing tips for spots for a swim, and places to eat. We ended up in the quarry and with the beautiful fire to come back to the cold winter water didn't seem so bad! The perfect trip!

  • My partner & I have just spent our second break at Homestead ( this year ) & we absolutely love the place. The Sunday School is a beautiful old building situated in Duloe, near Looe in Cornwall. It dates back to 1870, is full of old charm & character, with high ceilings and thick granite walls. A sunny south facing garden, SONOS & a log burner included. Now with Sky Q (recordable) and 40mb Fibre broadband, and a Nespresso machine for those coffee lovers.
  • Very nice stay, perfect getaway for a long weekend and a good central location.

    Sarah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Expect to find a beautifully decorated school house, it’s quirky and cute!! Very clean and perfect location on the outskirts of looe bay. Thank you Steve

    Vicky2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Steve's place was ideally suited for exploring the Cornish countryside and seaside towns. The cottage was well equiped, warm and comfortable. The Plough, in Duloe, was a great place to have dinner and there was a small community shop for everyday items.

    Claire2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, quirky out of the way place to stay and relax. Still within easy walking distance of village pub which does great food and a shop too. Loue and Polperro harbour just a short drive away and great to visit. The Old Sunday School had all the amenities you could need and was very cosy and tidy. Thanks for a fantastic stay Steve. • A place full of character

    Kelly2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little place was perfect for us visiting family over Christmas. With four of us, a 5 month year old and a large dog there was plenty of space. The location was perfect as it was easy to get to Looe which is what we needed. Steve was always quick to respond and very pleasant to communicate with. Highly recommend would visit again

    Michaela2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little space in Duloe.

    Christine2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here in November as a family of 4 (two adults, a 3 month old baby and medium sized dog) overall we had a fantastic stay and would book Sunday School again. On arrival we were able to gain access to the property quickly and simply following good communication from the owner. Parking is perfect - right in front of the building. The place was clean and tidy and felt welcoming even when arriving in the dark. Kitchen is well equipped with everything you would require when self catering. Bedroom is cosy with fresh bedding and good storage options. Bathroom - lovely powerful shower with heated towel rail. Lounge - big comfy sofa. Sky Q box and fast broadband which meant we could sign in and use Netflix. Having the Sonos system in the kitchen was a nice touch too. Garden is only small but accessible from the side passage - This worked for us. Combi boiler central heating - the place took a while to warm up but this is due to high ceilings and large windows. Although we found local supermarkets online, we took a very narrow B road to Morrisons (thanks to Google Maps) During our long weekend we visited Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Charlestown and Golitha Falls - all were within close proximity. The Plough pub is a short walk up the road and is baby and dog friendly. We both had delicious meals. Overall a lovely place to stay with no complaints from us.

NO BOOKINGS FOR APRIL In Liskeard, but with a country feel. A haven away from busy tourist areas with the advantage of easy access to coast & moors. A 2 minute walk from Liskeard Railway Station & the stunning Looe Valley Line. Perfect for those travelling/exploring by train. The town centre is a 10 minute level walk & still has many independant shops including the award Liskeard is ideally placed for exploring SE Cornwall. An ideal base for walkers with town, country & heritage shops.
Light, airy & spacious. Would describe the decor as vintage with a contemporary vibe. We try to be as eco friendly as possible. Autentico paints have been used through out, duvet covers are Seasalt organic cotton and we use Method cleaning products. Free Wifi available.
Tremeddan is a small terrace of old railway cottages built in the late 1800's. Ours has been converted into two and we have the top floor with its own private access through our private, small courtyard at the back of the terrace. The trees in the lane are a haven for birds who sing away merrily morning & evening. There is no parking, but there's access to the property via the narrow lane and you can stop & load/unload. Be aware it is nicely overgrown and your car will rub againts it and there are some brambles. Please assess the road before deciding whether you wish to use it. On road parking is available & places on the Business Park opposite. As back up there is a railway car park, £2 a day, as yet none of our guests have had to use it.
  • Lovely warm and cosy flat - comfortable and very well equipped. Highly recommended!

  • Accurate description of the property and surroundings excellent host with good communication between host and the guests

    Daniel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Denise’s place is exactly as described, cosy and comfortable with everything you need to relax. Its in a perfect location to visit everywhere and although we didn’t use the little train as it was wet and windy, that would be a plus. Denise greeted us on arrival and made us very welcome with practical advice. Its spotlessly clean and we loved the log burner. The little touches were thoughtful and homely like fresh milk and flowers on the table. Can highly recommend it and was cosy and just right for us as a couple looking for a mini break. Denise is the perfect host! Eric & Jan

My place is close to pretty Cornish Villages, Bodmin moor, Looe, the sea, great views. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. It's a perfect off grid retreat for those that need to get away from it all.
The Shepherds Hut is a beautiful cosy space with one double bed and one single bunk. It is basic but beautiful, with a wood burning stove for cosy nights in or for cooking on (bring your own wood or £5 small bucket/large sack £10- please can you message us beforehand if you wood like wood from us) utensils supplied. The Eco Hut is insulated so is suitable for stays over winter months too. Have a look at our reviews & read what our previous guests have experienced. There is a compost loo with an electric shower, fire pit and BBQ as well as s field kitchen with the very basic essentials. In the kitchen is a gas over, with grill & 4 gobs and a fridge. Please be aware this is a shared space but it’s great for longer stays. The hut is totally off grid, so if you are looking to get away from things then this may be the perfect place. Top tip -Bring a rechargeable battery pack for phones! Situated on our organic smallholding, the farm has beautiful countryside views and is only a short drive from Bodmin Moor, Looe, the Eden Project, as well as the coast path & other beautiful walks. Liskeard train station is 10 minutes drive. The field kitchen is a shared space with our bell tent guests( summer only) but we only have lovely guests so I’m sure this won’t be a problem! This year we are creating a veg patch for the eco hut with cut & come again salads, edible flowers and beans etc so please bring your gardening gloves with you! We know there is nothing nicer than picking fresh salad leaves and want to share this with our guests :)
Cornwall is the best place to visit :) You can walk to the Deer Park (forest holidays) at Herodsfoot (approx 1 hour of good walking), where you can get a local Cornish Orchards Cider on tap or have a pizza. Beautiful beaches & cornish pasties! Pubs in Duloe, Pelynt and Dobwalls.
  • Amazing stay in a beautiful hut and wonderful hosts!

    Arianwen2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet and peaceful setting. Comfortable space and the fire is perfect for February weather. Nothing better than watching the wind and mizzle coming in across the valley, being warm and dry, beer in hand. The field kitchen is ideally suited for 1 or 2, very cosey. Laura and Steve are very welcoming, and know of some nice easy walks around, off the main roads. Will be coming back for sure 😁👍🏼.

  • Wonderful place to stay to get away from it all! Really special and friendly family too. I cant recommend this place enough!

    Rose2020-01-03T00:00:00Z

    Jack2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Steve's place is a little heavenly nest in beautiful nature. If you need some time away in a great setting, with all the equipment needed, this is perfect. They are really friendly, thoughtful, reliable hosts and beautiful people! We wished we could have stayed longer.

    Linda2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • This air bnb is a very special place. secluded, romantic and the stove is definitely the highlight of the hut

    Bill2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in the shepherds hut which is perfect if you get beautiful weather like we did, watching the sun setting over the valley from the window and being able to look at the stars from the bed at night. The view is amazing and the garden is natural and alive with birdsong. We also had regular visits from one of the chickens who was apparently partial to a cup of Earl Grey tea! This is a perfect place for artists to retreat to and you could easily be tempted not to leave the site. The hut provides ample well designed storage for a small space, the bed is comfortable and the stove easy to light making it very cosy. Laura and her family are very friendly & interesting people who respect your privacy but also happy to stop for a chat when you see them. It was lovely meeting you all - thanks!

    Carol2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful location, welcoming family and a unique experience. I felt very comfortable and relaxed the entire time during my stay, and I met some lovely people within the family hosting the air bnb. I would thoroughly reccomend it to others.

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Don's cottage, it was clean, cosy and had everything we could've needed. We only stayed three nights but could've stayed for a lot longer! The cottage looks beautiful in the photos but even better in person, it's perfect. We will miss Jeeves and the chickens, who greeted us on the doorstep every morning. We highly recommend staying, thank you Don.

  • Would recommend this cottage, peaceful location with wonderful views.

    Lyn2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Don's cottage, we had everything we needed and felt very welcome. There is a lot to explore around Cornwall in short driving distance, so as Heligan gardens or the Bodmin Moor. Don was a perfect host, we found some fresh bread, milk and butter in the kitchen when we arrived and if Don was not around he answered very quickly when we had a question. We highly recommend Owl-Cottage in every aspect!

  • This is a stunning cozy stone cottage, hidden away in the countryside. Perfect location for great days out with the family.

    Ros2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic weeks stay in Liskeard Saint Ive. Dom the host was really helpful and knowledgable, when we arrived was was greeted with freshly baked homemade bread which was a nice touch. The cottage is located in a great place with local pubs and shops near by, lots of local attractions to visit and great hiking locations with unbelievable scenes. The cottage had a wood stove which was always nice to end the day with, every morning his 2 chickens would visit us along with his cat Jeeves. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

    Miranda2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was absolutely beautiful with amazing views. Don was a lovely host, leaving personal touches such as homemade bread which was absolutely delicious. The cottage is nearby brilliant places such as Polperro and Fowe which we loved exploring, even in the rain. We would love to come back again - thank you Don.

    Ellie2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay. Nice house, beautiful garden, a sweet cat and two curious chicken. Thank you, Don!

    Stephan2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • We spend some wonderful days at Don’s. The house is lovely, clean and has everything you need even sun loungers. The garden is very beautiful and the cat and the chickens might be very curious but also extremely adorable. The house is located in the middle of the countryside but the location is great if you want to go on day trips. The bread that was waiting for us when we arrived was delicious and butter, milk and some juice were also already in the fridge. All in all, an amazing stay and we’d love to came back!

  • This was a great spot within easy walking distance of Liskeard Town. The place is well set up with a great bathroom and the woodburner is a real highlight.

    Kim2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a dream place. It is a wooden wonderful house with any comfort but with a preserved sense of essentiality at the same time. The bathroom is huge and with some exquisite details. In particular the shower is big and absolutely modern. The combined bedroom and living room are super comfortable and with plenty of useful things (inter alia, a big desk, a stove, a microwave, boilers, books, kitchenware, several pillows, wifi … and even an plug for foreign electronic appliances). Beds are simply as beds should always be: I slept wonderfully. The garden and the atmosphere surrounding the house make everything perfect. I never found such an incredible place. In addition to this, Gareth is the most fantastic of hosts. A hyper kind, precise, and supportive person. He is also exceptionally discreet but always ready to help or answer questions. I do not recommend this place only, I strongly suggest to go there if you are a respectful person that can appreciate beauty.

You will receive a truly warm welcome here at Little Shippen Cottage. This is a cosy studio apartment in the heart of the countryside. Your front door will lead you directly into the woods. There is a double bed, dining table and chairs and the kitchen is adjacent. There is a modern shower room. Guests are welcome to explore our enchanting woods and stream side walk. We are next to Deer Park Forest and a 20 minute drive to stunning beaches including Talland Bay and Lansallos.
This gorgeous studio apartment was built as a mine workers cottage in the mid 1800s and formed part of the North Herodsfoot mine which is famous for lead and silver. Right outside the door, you will hear the sounds of the stream trickling by - such a relaxing sound. With the owls hooting in the evening, and the tranquil location, you truly feel like you've got away from it all.
Our village is wonderful and we regularly hold village events including beetle drives, pop up pub, coffee mornings and quiz nights

  • We had a super time at this little hidden gem in the most gorgeous village of St Neot. Bearing in mind we arrived during Storm Dennis, the weather did not effect our stay. Ray met us when we arrived and showed us into the property making sure we knew where everything was (a nice touch with the notice board with local information on). We soon settled and relaxed and enjoyed the open plan downstairs, which is a great size space. The place is very clean and tidy too with everything you could need in the kitchen. We all slept very well each night (despite the rain and wind), felt comfortable and at home, and had everything we needed for a 'home from home stay'. The children loved the place, their room was huge, with so many things for them to do-they didn't even get round to opening the trunk with the games in! Lots of things for all ages too. Elmo (our dog) loved the place too!!

  • Wow what a fantastic place! The photos really don't do the Old Classroom justice - it's incredibly spacious. We stayed for 6 days with our 9month old son. It was ideal for a cosy winter break with a curious baby - he enjoyed exploring the large space and the kids bedroom was great for him. We loved the fire and watching the stars from the balcony. The shower is also awesome! Be aware if you're not a very confident reverser the parking space is tricky.

  • Fantastic hosts and the cottage itself is just perfect. Ideal for a small family on holiday. The value for money is excellent. Will definitely be visiting again if I work down there again.

  • Warm, inviting and comfortable place with amazing views in a lovely small town. Lots to see and do in the area, and Ray and Kerrie supply some great information and books on Cornwall. Highly recommend!

The highest village in Cornwall is Minions which is a mere 4 miles from Penhawger Farm on the south east corner of Bodmin Moor, and has a wealth of ancient archeological sites dating from the early bronze age onwards and they are really popular with walkers and hikers, these include the Hurlers, three stone circles dated at around 1500 BC, a line through the centre of them brings you to Rillaton Barrow a large burial mound. Alternatively on the top of Stowes Hill, overlooking Minions, you can see the Cheesering, a natural formation of balancing stones formed during the last ice age and by thousands of years of erosion, the name derives from the shape of the stones and will become patently obvious on viewing! The town of ancient stannary town of Liskeard is at the head of the Looe Valley and is approximately 12 miles east of Bodmin.

  • A really beautiful property, with loads of space, perfect for a large family gathering, and for all ages. The kitchen is lovely, with plenty of room and all the utensils you could ever need! The main living area is great, really spacious and great for relaxing. All bedrooms are good sizes, as are the bathrooms. The beds are super comfy and the provision of a cot, highchair and stair gate, was particularly helpful for us. Overall, I would highly reccomend Winnow Barn and we all really enjoyed our stay here.

Close enough to town we were easily able to get meals for a night in etc. We used the hot tub a lot and there was lots to do in the area. David and Gina were away while we stayed but they made sure we knew how to contact them and they checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. They obviously enjoy the host life! Overall - lovely stay. We’d love to come every weekend!

A traditional farmhouse set only 3 miles away from the historic fishing port of Looe. The 2 bedrooms (1 family and 1 small double) have outstanding views of the countryside complete with their own private living room, bathroom and garden. Continental breakfast.
  • We recommend this lovely old farm house to everyone, it’s cosy, homely, the views are just breathtaking. Julie’s breakfast is delicious. So close to Looe for a beach walk, lots of restaurants and lots of shopping.

    Laura2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Julia's place. She was very warm and kind all throughout my stay and made sure I had everything I needed. I'd definitely go back to her place if I'm ever around that area again.

    Eduardo2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely host, really helpful. Enjoyed our stay greatly. Marvellous view from our room.

    John2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tregarland Farm is a hidden gem, close to Looe, but nicely secluded. The host, Julia, is charming and welcomed me with a cup of tea. The farmhouse is really old and interesting, and furnished in an 'olde-worlde' suitable style, and the views are tremendous. My room was really quite large, and the bed was comfortable. I had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, but there was a good choice of alternatives, including cereals, toast etc. This is an excellent place to stay for those seeking traditional accommodation, and I would be very happy to return.

    Steve2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is an amazing host who is looking after her visitors very well and nothing is to much trouble. Her place is lovely and on arrival, she offers both hot drinks and food. She makes sure that staying with her is like home from home. This was my second stay and I am hoping to stay with her again.

    Rose2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location...perfectly sited between Looe and Liskeard, with Seaton beach close by too. Stunning views from the room. Julia was very welcoming and friendly and made me feel at home. The room has no heating but equipped with a little plug in radiator which did a good job on the chillier evenings. Bed was comfortable and house and area quiet. Breakfast was a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and hot drinks. (I'm not a hot-breakfast girl so unsure about cooked offerings). Shower worked fine and wall heater warms the room nicely. A very nice visit!

    Cathryn2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was extremely accommodating. My job is very changeable and Julia made it very easy for me to check in and out when required. She also went beyond what was necessary as a host by lending me riding boots for the day, in case the school I was learning at didn't have any for me to borrow. The property was perfectly located for what I required and the view from the bedroom is stunning. You will get a great night's sleep here and a lovely breakfast.

  • A very spacious room in a magnificent Victorian house. The house has stained glass windows, a 100-year-old wooden carved staircase and a beautiful 1800s library. The house is full of historical character and I had access to sitting rooms and the library, which was greatly appreciated. Ian was very helpful and went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommended!

  • My husband and I stayed at Geri’s 14th - 15th September with our 1 year old son and two teenage stepsons. Firstly the cost of the loft room and one extra bedroom was very reasonable. Geri was great with communicating before we arrived and went the extra mile with providing tea and cake when we arrived. The house is beautiful and has a brilliant quirky style that we loved. The rooms tidy, clean and stylish. Beds very comfy. The location is 5-10 minute walk from the town centre. Geri made sure we had everything we needed and we felt very welcome there. We would definitely recommend staying here and will return the next time we are visiting. Thank you both for having us all!

    Claire2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Geri's place is an ideal base to walk into Liskeard and access the surrounding area and sights. Geri was a wonderfully friendly host, looked after us and made us really welcome. The loft had everything we needed and what it didn't have Geri provided quickly. Wonderful place.

  • Despite Storm Dennis, our stay was lovely. The huge bed and shower made for a comfortable stay. The views are outstanding, and it was lovely to wake up to sheep at our window. We ordered food from onsite and it was freshly made and delicious. Hoping to make it back in the summer.

  • Beautiful and large suite very comfortable and perfectly clean. Magnificent view from the bedroom. Highly recommended. The pub is great. Atmosphere, kindness, very good.

    Annie2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous view of the moor from the bedroom/living room. Literally on the doorstep. The bed was big and comfy, it was warm and cosy and not overlooked at all. We were rather unlucky however as there was a party staying in the main part of the house, to which the annex is separated by a door. They decided to play music until 2.15am, well, until we told them to be quiet! Luck of the draw unfortunately so I didn't sleep too well. Lovely stay regardless

  • After spending the week in Corbets Tey we didn’t want to come home! A beautiful cosy cottage which was spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need and some thoughtful extras on arrival. Beautiful natural surroundings but not far from anywhere in Cornwall with great local amenities also. Leah was a very welcoming and informative host and we were left alone to relax as we wished knowing that she was on hand should we need anything. Would love to visit again, a perfect base to explore beautiful Cornwall.

  • We had a great time staying in Merrymeet! The hosts made us feel very welcome and were very flexible for checking in. We were given great suggestions for local places to visit which were specific to our dog friendly needs. This is a really great family run accommodation which is clean and perfect for families and travellers with Dogs! There is a large enclosed field in the grounds which is ideal for doggy poops and a leg stretch before bed. We will certainly be back with our dog Milo!

    Sophie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Easy to get to looe and other surrounding areas. Very clean and dog friendly. A big field to let the dogs run on. Brilliant stay here we will be back!

  • Leah was a fantastic host and very welcoming. The cottage was beautiful and just as described with some lovely additions such as tea and coffee for our arrival. The cottage was extremely clean and had everything we needed. I also love that there is a field next door for the dog to stretch her legs! A really beautiful place to stay, very homely and we will most definitely be back. Thank you, Jess, Josh and Holly.

  • A lovely cottage, very clean and well fitted out, in a good location to explore Cornwall from. It is dog friendly with a large field to exercise and walk your dog in. A very good host who replied promptly to our initial contact on the airbnb website, and was very friendly and helpful when we arrived. Would highly recommend it and would go back again if visiting the area.

Originally used by shepherds, this hut has recently been refurbished. It has futon style sofa with memory foam which opens out into a bed and the place is heated by a log burner stove which you also has an oven and hot plate so you can cook. 6ft x 11ft 4". There is a power point and small TV. Outside is a tap. There is a loo and shower room nearby, which also has a microwave for your use.
This one up from camping, no wet canvas, and the luxury of a log burner and TV.
Your nearest neighbours are horses and alpacas! The farm can be described as miles from anywhere, but near to everywhere. We are about 10 miles from Looe & Polperro, and around the same to Bodmin Moor and the Caradon Mining Heritage site.
  • Initially hard to find due to sat back issues

    Elizabeth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, our dog loved seeing all the animals, we looked forward to coming back to the hut the most, so cosy

    Molly2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little Sheppard's but I a brilliant location will definitely be staying again

    Russell2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Shepard’s hut. This little space has everything you need to relax and more - farm animals are a fantastic company. Curious little chickens with their mum joined us for breakfast every morning😊 There are friendly horses to look at too. Everything was as expected, no surprises. Facilities are simple but clean and accessible all the time. Very good experience at affordable price.

    Magda2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, very clean and very cosy. I would repeat it :)

    Christian2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super place, back to nature for sure

    Louis2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely hut with a little garden, electric hookup and a bathroom + laundry machine, dryer and microwave nearby. A great spot for setting out to explore Cornwall!

    David2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very functional shepherds hut, everything you need, has electricity so you can even watch TV if you want to. I was surprised by how spacious and comfortable the bed was and the little fence around the hut means our dog could be let off the lead and couldn’t escape which was great. Lovely to wake up on a working farm with all the animals around and the inquisitive horses just outside. Great trip, definitely recommend staying here.

No groups of young adults. No dogs to be left unattended. "Robins Nest" is located in the quiet village of Merrymeet, close to the market town of Liskeard. We're a dog friendly household (should you wish to bring one); we have black 2 labradors called Opie & Oscar. A self-contained, lockable, ground floor apartment within our barn conversion; it is in an excellent location for exploration of the countryside There is good access to all amenities for people with disability and/or impairment.
One of the photos gives apartment dimensions... We provide use of the following facilities: On site parking; garden (by prior arrangement); utility room for laundry (by prior arrangement); lockable storage for bikes, boards, wet suits etc. There is a lockable door between the main house and the apartment for your privacy. The apartment is spacious and will accommodate 4 people (The 3 seater sofa in the living space converts into a reasonable sized double bed). 4 adults could be too 'close for comfort'. 2 adults & 2 younger children is really what we think works best. The kitchen has all that you would need to: prepare; cook; eat; store; chill and freeze food. The dining are has a table and 4 chairs. Simple condiments (Salt & Pepper) are provided. Access to the secure family garden is through a gate adjacent to the apartment entrance. (the garden is available by prior arrangement) We will provide 1 x large & 1 x hand towel per guest and relevant bedding (Please bring your own beach towels though). We will also provide you with toilet rolls and "arrival day" fresh milk, teabags, coffee and cereal. Top ups and other everyday shopping items can be obtained from the local supermarkets (Aldi, Morrisons & Coop) all of which are within 2 miles.
Merrymeet is a sleepy village of 60 houses. One church, no shop, no pub, no restaurant..... That said; within 2 miles you have the picturesque market town of Liskeard and a variety of pubs, shops & restaurants in the outlying areas. We can recommend nice places.
  • Lovely stay at Jason's place. Spotlessly clean and very spacious, even for the 4 of us, as we had our daughters with us. Had everything we needed and perfect location for the local. Only shame was that we couldn't stay longer. Hope to return for a longer stay soon.

    Jenny2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, we all enjoyed our stay including our dog

    Sam2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A really cosy and warm space. Nice to have milk and cereal provided too when you are travelling with children. Jason was friendly and would definitely stay again.

    Andrew2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean ,comfortable and self contained accommodation. Very Dog friendly.

    Sarah2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place so peacful and quiet being disabled was so accessible,

    Kenneth2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived quite late in the evening and unsure we’d actually made it to the right place when Jason suddenly appeared. He’d been looking out for us which was handy as there isn’t street lighting in Merrymeet. The accommodation is a ground floor annex which is tastefully decorated and has a comfortable double bed and a sofa bed. Everything was clean and tidy plus there was fresh milk in the fridge in the little kitchen area. It was our first time staying away with our rescue dog who settled in fine and ignored the two resident Labradors so if you’re looking for dog friendly accommodation then this little hidden gem is just the place!

    Elizabeth2019-10-13T00:00:00Z

  • The cottage was everything we needed for a few days away. The wood burner, hot tub, bath in the bedroom all made the cottage feel warm and comfortable, perfect to relax after exploring the local area. Lorraine and Jeff were great hosts, very welcoming and informative. We would definitely stay here again!

  • Not much to add really other than to echo all the other fab reviews - this truly is a wonderful location and a great base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside - Lorraine and Jeff were wonderful hosts and explained everything clearly - the cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay - I shall miss watching the huge array of birds that visited the bird feeder and the wonderful views across the valley - thankyou Lorraine and Jeff

  • Had an amazing 2 days in this cottage, the grounds/views are picturesque. The property had everything we could have hoped for. Very clean, welcoming and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend/return again. Many thanks. Nick.

  • Glen Silva was the perfect getaway location, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were made to feel extremely welcome by Lorraine and Jeff. The cottage was clean, cosy and modern, we weren’t too far away from Looe so could drive there with ease. Definitely a five star stay, I’d highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet stay with beautiful surroundings. Thank you Lorraine, Jeff and Blue for your hospitality.

    Toby2020-02-19T00:00:00Z

Set in 25 acres, this converted Nissen Hut offer unique accommodation, with a double bedroom, and a twin, log burner, full kitchen, private garden and dogs very welcome.
This unusual accommodation has been described as being like a large gypsy caravan, but much bigger. The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, under counter fridge and freezer. There is a microwave and a LPG cooker. The double bedroom overlooks the kitchen run and the smaller bed has a captains bed, which pulls out to reveal another single bed. The log burner is there to make it cosy on chilly nights.
We are situated miles from anywhere, but near to everywhere. We are about 10 miles from Looe & Polperro, and only about 30 minutes from the Eden Project.
  • Beau tunnel is ideal for those who are after a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of town/city life. We found this tunnel ideally located for visiting near by places such as Looe.. Fowey and St Austell but we were happy to travel further to Bude and Tintagel which were around an hour away. We’d recommend you bring your wellies if you come the same time as us in March... but we had so much fun exploring the farm yard and meeting all of the wonderful animals!

    Robbie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, nice welcome, and lots to do in the area. A local cat came and made itself very much at home, which was great for our little boy. As noted elsewhere, the wi-fi's shaky, but if you're coming to stay somewhere like this, you probably want to get away from it all anyway! Clear skies at night gave fantastic views of the stars. A short drive from Fowey, which is very pretty, and has a nice little beach too. Nice walks around the farm - but take wellies! Absolutely unbeatable value for money, the house has everything you need; we'd have stayed longer if we could. Thanks Sue!

    Nick2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Second stay on the farm so far, and me and my teen daughter just love it! It is almazing for my dog too! Limited mobile signal and Wi-Fi didn't work, but for me this was a bonus as the whole point of us coming to stay is to have some proper quality time together. Road down to the accomodation is what you would describe as very rural... but again that's what I like about it! The accomodation (Beau Tunnel) was really warm and cosy and had everything we needed and more for a very comfortable stay. Thanks for having us Sue. Hope to visit again soon

    Emma2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a family with a dog, great to have a woodburner, nice hot bath, lots of beautiful places nearby.

    Charlie2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's place is really cosy, very clean and has all the stuff u need for ur stay. Bed linen were spotless we felt at home, really. The farm is really quiet and the sky at night is unbelievable, if u get clear sky don't miss the chance to look up. A bit tricky to find the first time but after that it's piece of cake. There's a aqua park very close by which worth a visit. I'm sure u will enjoy ur stay if u r not too picky.

    Cristiano2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky cosy place to stay. Handy for all attractions.

    Vicky2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great, quirky accommodation and very secure for dogs.

    Jane2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic time staying thanks to Sue. It's much bigger than the pictures make it look, it's got everything you need for a great stay. It's in a great location for easy access down to the South, up to the North or throughout the middle. The enclosed garden and provision of extra blankets were brilliant for our very tired dog. It really is dog friendly and there's some nice easy walking right out the front door. Loved the fact you can see the stars so very clearly from the patio area and having Alpacas for next door neighbours is always a pleasure!

  • Lorraine and Jeff were perfect hosts who made us feel more than welcome on their beautiful property. The cottage was cosy with everything you could possibly need for a break away from home. The bed was so comfortable as was the lounge area and the well equipped kitchen. The hot tub was an amazing bonus and was really relaxing after a day of walking. There was even a cream tea on arrival and milk in the fridge which was a really welcome touch. Lorraine and Jeff's property has some great walks in tranquil surroundings which we and our dog loved! The nearest town with bigger supermarkets was only about a 10 minute drive away. The Hurlers, Cheesewring and Golitha Falls were only about 15 mins away too. Blue the labrador was a big softie who we loved to say hello to! All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break. Thanks again Lorraine and Jeff for a great, relaxing week at Christmas Cottage. We hope to see you again! Francesca, Ryan and Darcy x

    Imogen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We all really enjoyed our stay at the Christmas Cottage. Lorraine and Jeff were outstanding hosts and this is somewhere we would definitely come to again. When we arrived we were blown away by the cottage and not only that, we were also greeted with a cream tea! The surrounding area is breath-takingly beautiful and with Liskeard, Looe and Padstow nearby there was much to do.

    James2020-02-27T00:00:00Z

  • Christmas Cottage is the perfect Cornish getaway for anyone looking for a peaceful weekend away! The cottage itself is outstanding, and combined with the beautiful views across the valley you couldn’t ask for anything better. Everything was spotless and most importantly the beds were insanely comfortable! Lorraine and her husband are perfect hosts and we couldn’t have had a better weekend away, we will definitely be looking to stay again!

  • Located in an undiscovered part of Cornwall in the village of Pensilva, this beautiful cottage is part of Glen Silva farm, which is also home to a shepherds hut and another cottage all equipped with modern and sleek amenities, the style and well equipped nature of all the rooms is stunning and practical. The hosts Lorraine and Jeff went out of their way to make us comfortable and show us the property we were renting and the surrounding area. They gave us a lift from right outside the Christmas cottage we were staying at and dropped us off at the wedding venue we were there to attend. We did not want to leave and made excellent use of the electronic hot-tub and had a cream tea waiting for us on arrival, that was fresh and rich. Absolutely heartwarming touch. We will all be coming back ofcourse, there is much more to be discovered on the farm and the surrounding area. We have already been bragging to friends and family about the experience and the stay. Thank you Chris, Leanne and Krystal

    Krystal2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lorraine’s place to all my friends and family! Stunning setting, beautiful property, a wonderful cream tea upon arrival and star gazing in the hot tub after a walk on Bodmin - what more could you want?! Lorraine and her husband were fantastic hosts, quick to respond to queries, friendly, helpful and accommodating- thank you so much - we will be back!

    Hannah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our Family weekend away was perfect, Lorraine and Jeff were very welcoming and the accommodation is in an idyllic setting beyond expectation. The little touches go a long way, cream tea on arrival, coffee in the cupboard, milk in the fridge towels for the hot tub as well as showering all really helpful. Hot tub was great and our boys 6 & 10 loved it as did we. Great for walking and exploring. Overall a perfect break and we will return.

There is nothing quite like the tranquility of nature. We are in a little nestling away from roads and no one would ever know we are here. When it's dark here, it's dark!
  • The cottage was lovely and cosy, we had a last minute two night stay. A beautiful location and communication with Faye was very quick and easy. We would love to go back.

  • What a lovely place! The cottage is absolutely beautiful, warm and well-equipped, and surrounded by woodland which you are free to explore. Faye is a wonderful host and gave us tips on places to visit in the local area. We visited a beach a few miles away which our dogs loved. My husband forgot his wellies and Faye even lent him a pair. We would love to visit again some time.

  • This truly is a little bit of paradise. Tucked away in a secluded location on the edge of the village of Herodsfoot, but within easy reach of Looe, Polperro and Fowey. Barn Cottage was ideal for our father and daughter summer adventure. Four nights flew by - action packed days and quiet nights. For a very special evening our visit The Sardine Factory in Looe. It’s a very high quality restaurant serving great dishes at affordable prices. Faye and her family will make you very welcome at Barn Cottage. Very quickly it will feel like you’ve lived there for ages.

If you are heading to Dartmoor for the day, visit the old granite town of Tavistock and stop on the way at our favourite Italian ice cream parlour in the pretty village of Calstock on the banks of the River Tamar. If you don't want to wander too far from the hot tub, then the nearest pub is 1 mile away in the village of Pensilva which serves great food, a very convenient local shop and Trevallicks farm shop for hearty breakfasts and homemade cakes. We Two is the ultimate in quiet and relaxation that you will never want to leave. Don't just take our word for it, come and check it out for yourself.
The nearest village with a well stocked local shop and pub serving food are 1 mile away. The nearest supermarkets are Callington 4 miles and Liskeard 6 miles. Nearest beach 13 miles.
