We love to cook and so having a full kitchen and a small enclosed garden for our little dog was perfect. Great, fast communication from the host. Really great value.

  • We went here as a couple for my 30th birthday, we had an amazing time, so relaxing, very close to things to do but we chose to make the most of the lodge, hot tub and on site bar, although we did pop into the nearby town of kirkby lonsdale which is great, lots of independent shops. We loved this place and although we stayed during a storm it still didnt ruin the weekend as the hot tob is undercover which is a great idea, everything was perfect and clean and were hoping to come back with friends in the summer. Thanks sheryl for making it perfect!

  • Just the perfect place for a relaxing couples stay. Really smooth check-in/out, would recommend to anyone!

    Jonathan2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Poets corner is a lovely place to switch off from your ordinary hustle and bustle of busy life, clean, cosy little place with the hot tub an added bonus. We will be back!!!

    Karl2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • From the second we arrived the place was immaculately clean, opening the fridge we were greeted to a bottle of wine, milk and fresh orange juice allowing us to start relaxing straight away rather than wait for our own wine to chill etc. Each room was spotless, there is plenty of room for 4 people and really easy access to the hot tub. It is near to a side road however the banking is high enough that traffic noise is minimal. A quiet location which also has access to a nice BBQ and picnic area close to the hot tub. Couldn't fault the place, will definitely be returning.

    Richard2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Poets corner was better than expected, it had everything we needed and more. The hot tub was gorgeous and the lodge was very spacious. We will definitely be returning!

    Lucy2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Just beautiful! The perfect little getaway for us. We had fun playing the board games, relaxing in the hot tub and treating ourselves to watching a little Netflix with a coffee in bed. Sparkling clean and excellent communication before arrival. We used the swimming pool and were happy to see a couple of vegan options in the bar/restaurant at the complex- although they didn't have any alternative milks, to cows milk, which I thought was a little odd. Thank you so much, we will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

  • A perfect stay! We recently visited the potting shed and absolutely loved it! Check in was no trouble at all, the potting shed is lovely, very stylish and the ultimate place to relax! The hamper on arrival was a great unexpected touch too! Would highly recommend! Thank you Derek and family!

    Brydie2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a gorgeous space! The Potting Shed is the most beautiful Air bnb we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect and isn’t too far away from the village but at the same time far away enough to enjoy the peaceful countryside! Derek was amazing and was there to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

  • Amazing place to stay with a luxurious feel and great hospitality. Local area was beautiful with quick access to the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Had an amazing time!

    Lottie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few days at the Potting Shed - such a lovely, well equipped hideaway. It was just what we needed and there were lots of suggestions for local walks and pubs around the area. Derek was very accommodating and the hamper of treats was a great addition. Thank you

    Becky2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Potting Shed is a wonderful place to stay based just outside of the Lake District (about a 15 minute drive to Lake Windermere). It’s set on a farm, but is really modern and has everything you need to make home cooked meals. The bed is really comfortable, as is the couch and the shower is amazing. We were forced to remain indoors all weekend due to the weather, but that wasn’t a problem at all, as it’s a really nice place to stay. Would highly recommend this property.

The area where they live has the most beautiful views and there’s a little town nearby which has shops & everything you need not even a ten minute drive away. The home was incredibly clean and the bed was really comfortable. We were provided with items for breakfast including fresh milk and orange juice which was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend Beech Lynette and will definitely be visiting again in the future. Thank you, Vivien and Antonio, for making our little weekend away perfect!

  • Joanne is a very friendly and relaxed hostess, she will help you with anything else you might need. Take it to the train station, charger that fits into English sockets, glass of wine, what to talk about, washing clothes? No problem! We even went dancing together! The room is beautiful, sparkling clean and very tastefully decorated. The best thing is the conservatory with views over the English countryside and the sea. He is just a gem! Silverdale itself is a picturesque village with shops, post office and two pubs, you can go for a leisurely stroll when the tide is out, even on the W, there is a bird watching reserve and very rare limestone cliffs in the forest - great! I really wanted to explore the whole area, but then I found Silverdale and surroundings so beautiful that I just stayed there (a week). I found it hard to drive away, and I'd like to come back. Thanks, Jo!

  • We visited Sunnyside cottage for a long weekend, we had an amazing time - would recommend to anyone! It has been decorated so beautifully inside, the cottage was so well presented and you can clearly see that a lot of thought has gone into the whole place. The coffee machine and Alexa were additional extras that we loved, as well as the hot tub! Barbon village is lovely as well, on Lee & Richard’s recommendation we booked in for the Friday night bistro evening at The Churchmouse which was fab - definitely worth a visit! We will definitely be back to Barbon!

    Ellie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cottage to spend a romantic weekend in! Everything we could have hoped for had been provided. I loved the mix of the modern and old features in what was a very cosy space. Our only regret was not staying another night. We would fully recommend staying here and would love to come back another time in the near future. Also Barbon, is a wonderful little village with very welcoming locals.

  • We had an absolutely incredible stay at Sunnyside Cottage - it was everything we could have imagined and more. It is a beautiful, peaceful space with luxury amenities and the most thoughtful touches. Everything we could have possibly needed for a perfect, relaxing getaway was right there. Lee and Richard are brilliant hosts - on hand to answer any questions or help if required. The hot tub and bath tub were luxury additions which made the stay extra special, not to mention the most comfortable bed and luxury linen and towels. We loved absolutely everything ... can it recommend Sunnyside cottage enough!!

  • Phil’s place is a lovely cosy pod, so peaceful and calming. The access to the canal made for a lovely walk. There are a number of selections for eating out and a lovely pub for a drink or two all within walking distance. The pod has everything you need and exceeding our expectations.

    Jennifer2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the pod for a one night stop-over en route to Scotland from Dorset. It was ideally placed, and fortunately it didn’t matter what time we turned up, as we arrived relatively late in the evening. The pod was as photographed, small, simple, with good amenities. The under-floor heating was wonderful, and the shower was great.

    Dr Rosie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely outstanding host, and the cosy pod is very good, couldn't of asked for more, 100% going back soon

    David2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, tidy and cute small space to crash if exploring the lovely surroundings. Lots to do and the hosts are really friendly! They offered to show us to the pod and then left us to it but responded quickly to questions etc. It was very cosy, the heated floors were a god send! We were here during a windy and rainy storm in the UK and felt very cosy and safe listening to the rain on the roof...lush! The bed was super comfy as well!

    Robyn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

A lovely Georgian Farmhouse in a rural setting. The nearby village of Kirkby Lonsdale is famous for its lovely small shops and the River Lune which runs through it. The farmhouse is within easy reach of both the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales. We are 5 minutes from the M6 and The gateway to the Lakes. There is WiFi and a cosy lounge to relax in with a wood burning stove.
We are a rural bed and breakfast with 4 rooms available all with lovely views of the countryside.
  • Beautiful place and very clean highly recommended

    Stephen2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly beautiful old house. The host lives there too but as the place is so big we were afforded our own living room, with a roaring log burner. We had a bedroom each and our own bathroom. Access to the kitchen was available. The host was extremely welcoming and made us a cracking breakfast early in the morning. Highly recommended.

  • When I knew I was heading back up to the area I also knew exactly where I wanted to stay. Having spent a couple of nights at Mary's a few years ago, it was the first place I was going to consider. A beautiful old farmhouse where you are made to feel very welcome. It's great to get back at the end of the day and relax in front of the log stove. The start of the day is good too with a well cooked breakfast to get you going.

    Angus2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay. It was perfect for a weekend away with our dog. The location was fantastic to get to the lakes. The breakfast was lovely. The Plough inn pub was very nice. We would highly recommend!

    Tim2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent. Mary was very accommodating and even gave us a lift to the plough pub, the venue for the wedding we were going to. The farmhouse is lovely and breakfast was delicious

  • Foulstone is just like a fairy tale—we felt like it was not even real. Everything exceeded our expectations...Mary and Ian showed us a lovely path to take on their property for some exquisite views...got us into the best place in the village to eat an exceptional dinner and told us where to go to park our car and enjoy the incredible ambience of the beautiful village. And to top it off, the English breakfast in the morning was outstanding. We want to go back!!!

The cottage is we equipped with cooking utensils which was ideal for us as we cooked and ate in as we were with out dog. A great location to explore a variety of areas such as the Lake District, the western side of the dales and arnside. Supermarkets and pubs within driving distance but a nicr retreat away from the busyness of other areas. Would definitely stay again and Jayne was a great host. Quick communication, very accomodating and welcoming, lovely little touches and always there if you need her but allows you your own space.

  • Cosy and friendly place to stay in Kendal, convenient for Oxenholme station on the West Coast mainline (especially as Ruth was kind enough to give me a lift to the station on the morning of my departure). This was a brief working visit for me, so I didn't have time to explore the surrounding countryside; but if I had done, I'm sure Ruth's local knowledge and the range of maps and guides that she provides in the room would have been a great help. Ruth is a generous and warm host and it was a pleasure to stay with her.

The local area is a haven for wildlife, the National Trust stating “the mix of wildlife that you can see in Arnside and Silverdale is like no other place in the country”. The combination of different habitats; the coastal climate, woodland, limestone pavement and grassland attract many species of birds and butterflies that would not normally be seen in the same region. Drumlins is also well connected. It is just five minutes from Junction 36 of the M6, seven minutes from Oxenholme Main Line train station, a ten-minute drive into Kendal - and there are beautiful walks and cycle routes straight from the door! Entry is via a hallway (very handy for those walking boots!). Once you are inside you will find that the cottage is all on one level with wheelchair friendly wide doors. The newly decorated lounge is lovely, light and spacious, with a comfy reclining chair and sofa which folds out into a double sprung sofa-bed, ideal for kids. To the side of the room are the dining table and chairs. A flat-screen TV and a network-enabled Blu-ray/DVD player is available which also gives access to BBC iPlayer and YouTube. The TV has a range of connection options, including HDMI, so that you can hook up your own devices. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you should need. It has a gas hob, electric fan oven, fridge freezer, a microwave, washing machine, tumble drier and a dishwasher. There are two stools available should you wish to keep the chef company! The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and plenty of cupboard storage. Guests will enjoy the lovely views of the garden and the farmland beyond. All bed linen is included. The bathroom has a toilet (with handy grab rail), a basin, bath and separate shower with a seat. Towels are provided for guests. To the rear of the cottage is an enclosed patio garden with table and chairs. There are raised beds with flowers and herbs and bird feeders with many, varied visitors. Drumlins is set within the large grounds of our home, Low Park Farm. Surrounding it are almost one and a half acres of beautiful gardens, parts of which you are welcome to explore. Parking for two cars is available at the front of the cottage and there is also a hosepipe available for washing boots, bikes etc. Secure lock-up is available for bicycles if required. WiFi is available throughout the cottage and there is a strong 4g mobile signal with most networks. Local area: We are nestled in a beautiful, peaceful spot with wonderful, rolling countryside (that will be all those Drumlins!) all around. A stroll up the lane will give you great views of the fells of the Lake District and the Howgills. Here is a list just some of the places that are nearby and how long it should take you to drive to them: The village of Endmoor with its shop, bakery, pub and canal side walks...less than a mile Kendal, with great shops, restaurants, museums, arts centre and supermarkets... 10 mins Lake district National Park with all its attractions... 10 mins Yorkshire Dales National Park... 20 mins The coast... 10 mins - yes, strange but true! The city of Lancaster... 20 mins Sedbergh, a national book town... 20 mins Sizergh Castle, a wonderful National trust property... 5 mins Levens Hall with its amazing topiary gardens... 5 mins There are also three fabulous farm shops very close by: Kitridding, Sizergh and Plumgarths.
The peace and tranquillity is superb. The cottage is situated on a former farm with rolling countryside surrounding it.

  • Both my Mum and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The space had everything you needed to make you feel relaxed. One thing I would say is, if there was a little WiFi it would go a long way! But also great to be able to switch off from the outside world. Definitely will be coming back (#PostPandemicTrip).

    Ella2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing space. Stunning views, perfect location and highly unique. The pod is unbelievably cosy and everything feels brand new and sparklingly clean. Alison and Victor are brilliant and attentive hosts, and have created a beautiful space on the edge of the Lakes. We can't wait to return.

  • This really was a little haven. The cabin was cosy, well equipped and peaceful, it was a perfect way to break up the drive from Dorset to Glasgow and back. It has everything you would need, a very comfortable bed, fantastic shower and great views. The advice on places to visit was really helpful too, I recommend eating at the Strickland Arms - the fish and chips was excellent and the pub had a lovely friendly atmosphere. All in all a great little stay. Would love to come back and explore the area some more.

    Flora2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding and unique place to stay, Victor and Alison have thought of all the little details to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend staying here and I am certain I will stay again!

Recently voted as one the best places to live in the North West in the Times. This is a lovely little room in the village is Kirkby Lonsdale. Ten minutes walk from the local village which offers shops, bars, views of Ruskins View. Close to the Yorkshire Dales and National Park’s Of the Lake District. There is a shared kitchen for tea and coffee and a continental breakfast can be provided if required. A stones throw away from the rugby club and parking immediately in front of the house.
The bedroom is full access to guests. There may sometimes be some drawers with my nieces clothes in but this will be noted. Kitchen can be used for tea and coffee making and if required at an extra cost the washing machine for lengthy stays. Note well; due to recent comment regarding the size of the bedroom. The bed is a double bed and the room is my second room so slightly smaller but you are welcome to be around the house and the majority of the time I am away with work so the space is yours. Please also note that the bedroom itself is quite basic. It is a high quality mattress with memory foam top but it is just a room as per listing with a shared bathroom area to avoid any confusion if people aren’t reading the whole amenities. I am also limited to garden space as a recent guest was disappointed with the outside not having somewhere to sit. However I advertise a room only and i am on the edge of lots of lovely outside spaces in the lakes and the Yorkshire dales and a ten minute walk from the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale itself. Please see update photos of actual road due to recent review regarding the location with nearby houses. The place itself is friendly and I am regularly out so generally speaking guests have access to the whole house. Free wi fi available so you can access tv on laptops and tablets. Please note as per listing there is no tv in the room but feel free to watch tv in the lounge. This has been updated to reflect recent comments to add clarity and if there are any queries for your stay ahead of booking please advise.
Several small bars and fine dining or pub grub. Within half hour drive of Windermere, 45 minutes from Keswick and the edge of the lakes. Ten minutes from ingleton and Yorkshire Dales.
  • Great host & excellent communication. Location wise Ella's place was great..5/10 min walk to the town with its beautiful scenery, pubs and cafes. The house is cosy and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed watching a movie in the evening. Ella and her partner are really friendly. Perfect stay X

    Mark2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Ella's lovely home. Both Ella and her home are warm and friendly. She was the perfect host and could not do enough to make my stay a really lovely time. Definitely one Id recommend.

    Paul2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ella is a fantastic host! Her communication before and during my stay (should I need anything) was outstanding. The bedroom is cosy and the bed very comfortable! The location is fantastic for access to the national park and the local town is a short walk away. I would most certainly stay here again!

    Tim2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was not disappointed, communication was excellent, accommodation met the needs of my one night stay. Had a pleasant evening chat with Ella, found we shared some common themes. I'd definately stay again if my work took me again to Kirkby Lonsdale.

    Steve2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy and modern atmosphere. Very nice and friendly hostess. Good location, very quiet and 10 minutes walk to the village.

    Barbara2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • I decided to base my short stay in The North (just two days, far too short of course) at Kirkby Lonsdale as it appeaed to centrally located for excursions both into the Lakes and the Dales, whcih indeed it is. But the immediate countryside, Lonsdale and the Loon valley, are also beautiful and, as is so much the case up there, a totally different landscape. Ella's house is perfectly located just a five minute walk from Kirkby town centre (where parking is absolutely impossible!) which has enough to keep yu busy even when the weather isn't suitabke for walking in the countryside ... the house is cosy, really really well decorated and immaculately clean - I loved the array of breakfast goodies. Ellas's local nowledge is superb and she's wonderfully helpful. A few days away from a hectic 'freinds and family' week helped make my trip to the UK the great success it was. Thanks Ella!

    Simon2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ella's cottage was perfect for my stay whilst I was visiting my elderly mum in Kirby. The room was comfy and had everything I needed and the shower was great. Ella left a nice selection of breakfast goodies and tea and coffee. The location is perfect for walking into town. A great little home from home. Thanks Ella.

    Gill2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ella's Airbnb is located at Kirkby Konsdale, a very lovely small town, and is just a 30 to 40mins drive to Lake District. Ella was prompt in replying and provided us many options for dinning. While the room may be a tad small, it does provide a good night rest for the next day. Breakfast was ready the night before for us to have it early the very next day. We definetly recommend Ella's Airbnb to all.

The house is located close to Kirkby Lonsdale with shops, pubs, bars and restuarants as well as being close by to lots of local hikes and sights. • An absolutely fantastic find, there is nothing I could fault about our stay. Paul's communication up front and throughout was thorough and helpful and the cottage itself is beautiful. Impeccably clean and appointed to an impressively high standard. Some really nice touches like a welcome hamper and milk in the fridge made it even more special. Brilliant value for money and I'd return in a heartbeat. Super pub next door too! Thanks!!

  • Old Blue Bell Cottage is so lovely; Mary was kind enough to visit us when we arrived and show us where we wanted to go on a huge map. The cottage itself was very clean and tidy, with windowsills big enough to sit on and take in the scenery (my favourite thing to do), a huge bath and a bathroom with heated flooring! Initially I bought the cottage would be quite crapped but it is definitely very spacious and every had a slight walk in wardrobe. All in all, an amazing trip!

    Antonia2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. The host is a great communicator and if you have any questions her replies are super fast! The accommodation was better than we expected and had a really professional feel. The carpets are lovely and swishy, the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice treat and the whole accommodation was lovely and cosy. A really homely place to stay and superbly clean. Definitely worth staying for longer than two nights to make the most of it!

    Debs2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mary gave us a warm welcome and was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. She provided a binder full of suggestions and information, as well as maps, menus from nearby pubs and restaurants (recommend the Hare and Hounds for great food and ales), etc. which was very useful. The cottage itself was very warm, clean and comfortable. Fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and a comfortable common area. A great base for exploring the Lakes.

    Ed & Josh2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved staying at Mary's place. It was a lovely blend of rustic and modern which just seemed to work throughout the building. Amazing facilities with everything you would need for a short break or a week away. We are very keen to return!

    Matt2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage last week and it was a an ideal location for visiting the south of the lakes. Upon our arrival Mary introduced herself and shared her knowledge of the area, which was perfect for us as we hadn’t got any idea where/what to do for the week. There was plenty of map/leaflets also within the cottage to help us plan our adventures. As mentioned on other reports, the bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs and the lounge/Kitchen is upstairs, this was ideal for taking in the views from the lounge area. The cottage was very clean and was perfect for our weeks holiday. There is a small garden outside which was lovely to sit in when the sun was out, also our dog loved playing with her ball there whilst we enjoyed the view and drinks. If anyone is looking to stay in the south of the Lake District then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage.

  • Well located for lovely walks. Very comfortable accommodation and welcoming hosts. We had everything we needed for a lovely break. The house was very warm and the bed extremely comfortable, which were both very welcome after walking in February rain. We were well looked after but had the level of privacy we would have wanted.

  • A great mini getaway! Pauline and her husband were really hospitable and helpful; offering best places to visit, explore and eat. It was lovely to chat with them but also still felt I had my own space, even though I was in their home. They struck a great balance of being helpful and leaving me to it. I loved the place. It was clean and cosy and just a really sweet place. The check in and check out was seamless and I felt welcomed and welcomed to return also. I recommend this and would defiantly visit again.

Denise filled her beautiful lakeside home with comfy and thoughtful touches. The cabin was clean, roomy and cozy! This place is a perfect and quiet base for a fun holiday exploring the beautiful Cumbrian countryside!

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids, including a baby). With wonderful views to Hutton Roof Crag, Croft Cottage, a detached nineteenth century, stone-built cottage sleeping four, is tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. It has passed down through the family and is very dear to us.
Guests have access to the whole cottage and can settle in as though it were their own. The cottage is over 100 years old and and we have tried to retain its unique character, even down to the old range in the sitting room. The coal effect in the grate, which is not a heater, can be turned on at the electric switch on the wall. No cleaning!
Hutton Roof is a small village in South Cumbria, situated between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. It lies 4 miles east of the M6 (J36), about 4 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. This is a quiet, undiscovered area with fabulous views of the Lakeland Fells, the Howgills, Ingleborough, Whernside and Morecambe Bay. Hutton Roof Crags is one of the most impressive areas of Limestone habitat in Britain and boasts a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), an SAC, 2 NNRs and an LNR. There are walks from the doorstep. Kirkby Lonsdale is good for places to eat in the evening. Have a look at the leaflets in the porch for places to visit and places to eat.
  • Perfect for a family of four. The house was spotless, catered to our every need, and Pauline was able to answer any question we had. We look forward to staying here again!

    Christina2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great rural location. Comfy beds, great shower and kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal. Lovely and snug in the windy February weather. A real find close to the lakes. I’d recommend this to anyone. We had a great stay in Hutton roof.

    Rob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, a short drive from Kirkby Lonsdale. Ideal facilities for a get away - lovely part of the world too!

  • I made the decision to take my Wife (who is soon expecting another child) and my 4 year old daughter to the Lakes, normally we wouldn't go in the winter but we just HAD to get a way for the weekend. I looked around on ABNB and found this gem of a place. Right from the start I had all the information I needed sent to me by Pauline, so not alot of communication was needed by me. We arrived at the and Loved it straight away. There were no faults whatsoever. You get a key code for the front locks the Cottage is detatched so you have alot of privacy. The building is made of stone so it was very cosy inside. When you step into the property its warm as there are Heaters that automatically keep the place warm. Everything was in working order and absolutely sparkling clean the cooker and the oven work extremely well as my Wife enjoys cooking and used both to whip up some Biryani and some NICE chicken made in the oven. Beware one small thing though, we had absolutely no reception as the house is in a dead spot (but tbh thats not a bad thing when you want to switch off)... On the flipside to that you do get BRILLIANT wifi which never dropped connection not once and you also have SKY and the TV. 5* from me Pauline thankyou for having us at your gem of a place!!

    Faisal2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place is a fantastic find. Tucked away in rural Cumbria. Pauline is a fantastic host. The cottage is very well decorated and equipped for four people. Great Kitchen/Bathroom very warm. Great TV with WiFi. Fantastic value for money.

  • Me and my partner came to stay with our miniature dachshund Otto to celebrate our 4year anniversary. The welcome and hospitality provided my Jackie and John was amazing - such a warm and approachable couple! We did not have a long stay so we will need to come back to make the most of their suggestions for walks and days out! The location was perfect - not far from Kendals centre, and we drove to Ambleside and Grasmere on the same day - it was a perfect day out !

    Corinne2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely welcome from both Jackie and John. An amazing set up. We would definitely recommend. Perfect for taking a puppy we were at ease the whole time.

  • A warm comfortable base for 2, with lots of small thoughtful touches. The breakfast, tea, coffee, bread and milk provisions to start us off were great, the home produced eggs were a surprise bonus. Clean and well equipped, plenty of space for the 2 of us. An ideal base we used to explore and enjoy the Lake District in a cold and wet spell of weather, but it did not stop us enjoying our stay.

  • Fabulous little place tucked away in a quiet spot in Kendal. Cosy, spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful touches - fresh bread, milk, fruit, butter, eggs, yoghurt and lots of other basics in situ. Spent Christmas here and were welcomed with mince pies and a Christmas card and some tasteful Christmas decorations. Plenty of parking space. Within walking distance of Kendal town centre (25 minutes), an Asda store and a handy corner shop ( 2 minutes away). Jackie and John are welcoming, friendly and caring hosts and Cooper, their dog, is a joy. Will certainly be returning.

The house is perfect for evenings in too, with plenty of kitchen amenities to cook a meal and Netflix etc available for entertainment. Communication leading up to and during the weekend with the hosts was great! We didn’t want to leave and hope to come back!

  • Sarah and Chris’ stable has been renovated to an incredibly high spec. It has everything you could need and more. The finishing touches in the stable are beautiful, the location is perfect with lots of walks and places to eat close by. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future.

  • The house was so incredibly clean, one of the best we've stayed in. Very cosy and warm too! Good location for having a good drive around and Chris recommended a trip to Arnside, which was lovely and the cafe we went to had great vegan options. Both Chris and Sarah have been very friendly and welcoming.

  • Lovely little three day break just after all the Christmas hustle and bustle. Chris and Sarah were excellent and really helpful with lots of little tips about the area. The house itself was gorgeous, clean and a beautifully presented with everything you could need for a few days away. We will definitely be returning. Thank you :)
