  • Pheasants pecking away on the lawn outside and tawny owls hooting in the trees. As cosy, quiet and comfortable a hideaway as you will ever find. Can’t wait to return.

  • Very nice stay "at the cabin" hyper close to the beach, real impression of vacation, host attentive, small but the essential is there. Perfect for visiting Dorset.

  • Really pleased with our stay at the cabin, cosy and warm despite the inclement weather outside!

    Alison2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is a lovely place to stop - perfect for a pair or solo traveller looking for an indoor place to rest. Situated at the end of a garden, it is a secluded spot that is a restful way to spend an evening. Humphrey was very accommodating - made sure I could get in, had turned the heating on, set the heated blanket (!) up to come on in the evening, provided tea, coffee, breakfast and fruit. Bed was very comfy, shower was decent, and enough space to feel cosy while still having enough space to move around. Kitchen was well equipped. The local pub was just down the road and served up good food. Highly recommend if passing through Seatown.

Little Staddles is a contemporary cedar clad chalet, set in a pretty woodland, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind, with a huge cosy bed, woodburner, bath and kitchen area.
Little Staddles has been designed as a luxurious hideaway - a place where you can listen to the woodpeckers and owls and maybe spot a deer roaming in the woodland whilst soaking in the freestanding bath. Adjacent to our family home Little Staddles is the perfect retreat. Exterior Little Staddles is a separate building. It has its own access with private off road parking and a very private decked area with sun loungers, chimnea/bbq and a table. This space has been carefully landscaped with wild flowers and shrubs. The accommodation is located up steps and accessed from its balcony which has a beautiful sunny aspect. Interior There is a cosy seating area with LED television and a wood burner, including a large supply of logs. The open plan space also has a kitchen area with breakfast bar, sink, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, 2 ring gas hob and all you need to make breakfast or simple meals. There is a Bialetti espresso gas top maker, a cafetière and a lavazza milk heater and frothier to make the perfect coffee! There is a superking size bed with a sumptuous goose down duvet and mattress topper which should ensure a great nights sleep. The bathroom is indulgent, with a freestanding bath where you can relax and enjoy the woodland views and there is a very spacious walk in shower. There is also an ipod dock, Dab radio and wifi.
On our doorstep are some lovely walks into the woodlands and down to River Cottage H.Q. (which is a 30 minute walk away), or you can walk into Lyme Regis (which takes about an hour). A 10 minute drive will also have you in Lyme Regis, where you can stumble upon lovely cafes and restaurants, artisan shops and galleries, stroll along the seafront, find a fossil or two or simply sit and relax. This, the Jurassic Coastline is an area full of dramatic scenery and beautiful coastal walks. I will try and put photos of the local area and details of any local events on our (website hidden) page, Little Staddles
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - from start to finish. Claire and Rich have created the perfect get away, I’d highly recommend it if you’re after a luxury break away from the hectic day to day. Everything from the correspondence before we arrived, through to the check in, the stay and departure was so straight forward and seamless. On arrival I was blown away with just how beautiful the property is, even better than the pictures! They’ve done a great job in creating a stunning place - I particularly loved the luxurious bath with an outdoor view. I would highly recommend this location!

    Aimee2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Claire is so great with communication and there for anything you need. This is probably the calmest and most relaxing Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in and just what I needed. Spotless, beautiful and cosy. Hope to return in the future. So lovely to feel like you’re out in the sticks but just a short drive from many great locations. I particularly loved the golden cap walk suggested by Claire. Such a great stay.

    Lauren2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the hideaway. Would highly recommend for a cosy break. The road up the accommodation is quite steep but is fine for a car.

    Emily2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is really a top notch Airbnb. Its stylish and super comfortable, ideal for a weekend break for 2. The place is very modern with well designed features and ameneties. Its one open plan space (bed, living and kitchen) but is not what you'd describe as a studio. The thoughtful architecture makes it feel like separate rooms. The bathroom is really special, lovely fittings and immaculately presented. Loved it! Claire is also charming and very helpful.

    Richard2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little place. Very serene surroundings and perfectly situated to explore Dorset and Devon.

    Patrick2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect hide away for 2. The apartment is compact so wonderfully cosy, but at the same time has every amenity you could need. Stunning location. Perfect for River Cottage (walkable but would only recommend it in the summer) less than 5 minutes drive away.

    Kevin2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • By far the nicest air bnb we have been too. Beautiful venue, perfect to relax and unwind. Very clean and modern with lots of little personal touches. Super comfy bed and the most amazing bathroom ever! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly.

One of the most popular properties in the UK on Airbnb! Great value for this amazing cosy log cabin. This property is extremely popular and has amazing reviews. Comfy with amazing views make this the perfect place to stay on holiday. Valley lodge is tucked away with lovely views of the valley and the sea beyond, secluded with a Sunny open plan living room, kitchen/dining and sofas around the wood burner. Delightful walks from the cabin and Very near Lyme Regis on the beautiful Jurassic Coast.
As soon as you walk into the cabin, you know that there is something special about being surrounded by wood. The open plan living space works really well too. It means that whoever is cooking can still chat with friends and family while they are relaxing on the sofas. So no one is left out. And the views are amazing. The cabin is open plan living, with 2 double bedrooms a shower room and utility with washer/dryer. We will leave you some kindling and a few logs for the woodburner. The petrol station sells wood if you need more. There is Parking outside for two cars. Decking with picnic table. Enclosed garden with grass lawns. Bring your BBQ and entertain amongst these wonderful views. You can all Relax in the knowledge that your dogs and children will be safe from escaping with a good secure fence all around the property. Guests are given complete privacy. We are around, however, if there is a problem. Uplyme is very convenient. It is easy to get to from the main road and Lyme Regis is only 5 minutes by car. There is a lovely walk from the cabin down the river valley to the sea (map in the cabin). It takes about 40 minutes on foot. Other beautiful places to walk, like Golden Cap, also on the coast are not too far away. Lyme itself is charming and quirky. it is the most beautiful town and extremely popular. Lyme Regis has made the top ten places to stay by both The Times and The Guardian and we have many a famous visitor staying here and ITV’ s travel expert ‘Simon Calder’ has visited regularly and highly recommends this gorgeous town. Lyme Regis is unspoilt and with its amazing scenery and strong arty vibe it remains one of the most searched for places to stay in the UK. It has lots of independent shops and cafes too which make it a perfect place to holiday or visit. The local petrol station in Uplyme has a brilliant shop and post office if you need anything quickly. The best places to buy food are either Axminster where there is a good butcher, or Felicity's Farm shop on the way to Bridport but the farm shop in Kilmington is where us locals shop and it is a great place to buy gifts and find special food and it even has a fresh fishmongers and florist ! Superstores- Waitrose in Bridport. Tesco’s stores are in Axminster and Seaton and Lyme Regis has a smaller Tescos and Coop There is a bus from Uplyme to Lyme Regis or Axminster. The nearest mainline station is at Axminster which is about 10 minutes away. There is parking for two cars outside the log cabin. We provide bedlinen and bath towels, but not beach towels. So please bring your own if you want to spend time on the beach. Lyme has a lovely sandy area of beach, right by the pub for adults and safe for children. The cabin is wonderful and we have had some fantastic reviews. This beautiful gem is one of the most popular properties on Airbnb in the uk and our repeat guests that come back each year is testament that this place is pretty special! The area is ideal for holidays and there is lots to do or if you prefer you can do absolutely nothing except relax , read a good book with a glass of wine and just enjoy the peace and tranquility of the cabin. If you want a holiday with straight lines , minimal decor and lots of Crome then the cabin is not for you but if you like warmth, cosy , rustic surroundings , lots of nature, stunning views , good pubs and fantastic food, then this place is ideal !
There is also lots do to locally and there are some wonderful places to eat out in Lyme Regis. There is Hix's famous seafood restaurant and River cottage in Axminster are both amazing. Also there is lots of good restaurants and pubs in Lyme Regis and there is also a great Indian restaurant in Lyme , a Thai restaurant and on the sandy part of the beach there are two highly recommended pubs called The standard and The Harbour. You will find these are some great places to eat and drink whilst enjoying the stunning views which overlook the world famous cobb. Pub of the year is just down the road which is The Anchor Inn in Seatown Places for children- Lyme museum Sea world, Weymouth Crealy Adventure park ( rides , rollercoasters and a great day out) - about 25 minutes away between Sidmouth and Exeter. The donkey Sanctuary nr Sidmouth Abbotsbury Swannery Go climb - Exeter Charmouth tunnel - which is very local to here has a shooting range and a tree tops course.

  • We had a great stay at Caroline’s place. She had left homemade bread, granola, muffins and brownies as well as butter, eggs, juice and milk in the fridge. We were looking for a cosy cottage to spend a few relaxing days reading and walking and the cottage was perfect for that. Small touches like the robes and slippers that were left were lovely. It is also a short drive to Lyme Regis for a great fish and chips, local restaurants and shops. I would definitely stay here again!

    Lucy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely little place, good walking, the beach is great and almost deserted. Easy drive to Lyme Regis or Seaton. The hospitality included some really nice touches that we appreciated.

  • A perfect little hideaway. The cottage felt so homely. We spent a great christmas here enjoying being sat by the fire. Caroline was an excellant host; from checking in with us to all of the delicious homebaked goodies there to welcome us. This is a well maintained, well set up and well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.

    Emma2019-12-27T00:00:00Z

Stunning, quiet little cottage nestled in the hills of Marshwood Vale 3 miles from the sea. Sip wine on the terrace surrounded by wildlife, stargaze from your bed or visit all the wonderful things Lyme Regis, Bridport and this area have to offer.
A delightful little cottage at the edge of a quiet village set in the Marshwood Vale. Wonderful walking through the vale, to the sea, or on the national trust land along the coast, all from your front door or a very short drive. Maps in the cottage and we are happy to help with routes. Although for two it is very spacious, with a large double bedroom, skylight above the bed, (with a blackout blind if you prefer no starlight!) large cottage kitchen diner, sitting room, wonderful bathroom with extra deep enamel bath and drenching shower. Outside you have the decked, covered terrace with masses of seating, comfy chairs and dining chairs/table, and patio heaters. The house is full of character and light, a truly restful place to be with masses to do on your doorstep. The cottage allows for a dog or two, the garden has a dog proof fence around it...unless they are high jumpers. We don't allow them in the bedroom and there is a gate to stop them.
Bonhays Barn is ideally situated for the Jurassic Coast, wonderful walking, watersports and the vibrant local towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. Bridport with its markets (Weds/Sat), vintage section and wonderful Cafes and restaurants. Lyme Regis is famous for its beauty as a seaside town, restaurants and many festivals throughout the summer.
  • Very cute cottage, well equipped and clean with lots of thoughtful touches such as local maps, games, DVDs and a fantastic mini library! Lovely peaceful outside area and a great base for hiking.

    Sarah2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely comfortable cottage; kitchen is a joy to cook in and there’s a lovely deck to sit on and enjoy the sunshine. Quiet & peaceful place to stay!

    Ciara2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It's very peaceful, tranquil, with beautiful views and a great location for exploring the area. Tony was very welcoming with info on local walks etc and gave us a lovely breakfast hamper. The cottage itself is warm, cosy and perfect for two people. Highly recommended.

    Jonathan & Lisa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous discovery! This cottage is perfect for those who wish to escape the rat race and unwind completely immersed in nature. Charmouth and Lyme Regis are only a short drive away - great for fossil hunters! Sophie and Tony are excellent hosts - we were welcomed warmly and offered loads of local advice and recommendations. Whilst we knew they were on hand if we needed anything, we appreciated being left us to ourselves to relax and enjoy the space fully. The delicious welcome basket is a yummy and delightful touch, thank you! The cottage has everything one could ask for and was lovely and warm despite Storm Dennis raging. We loved waking up to bird song and cows in the fields. The view from the patio is breathtakingly beautiful - on a warmer day I could see myself sitting there for hours sketching or reading. All in all, we had a terrific stay and hope to return another time. Thank you.

    Amanda2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding place. Everything in the description is spot on. Very warm and cosy and much more spacious than I had imagined from the pictures. The surrounding countryside is beautiful as well. Thoroughly recommend. I really did not want to leave.

    Frances2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely, spacious for a couple and very cosy. The layout of the cottage allows for various activities without feeling like you’re on top of each other- for example my partner watched one of the many DVD’s they supply for their guests while I sat in the kitchen doing a puzzle. We were both able to do our own thing while still being in each other’s company and chatting from the kitchen table to the living room. The bedroom upstairs is spacious and clean, the window being in the roof allows for star gazing at night which is an added bonus! It is a 15 minute journey into town (Bridport)and a 15 minute drive into Lyme Regis. There is a pub about 2 minute drive from the cottage which is good for a cheeky pint or 2! Both Sophie and Tony were fantastic hosts, even though the cottage was closed to their house they never imposed. It was nice to be left to our own devises but they were also happy to answer any questions and give advice on what is good to do around the local area. We will definitely be back and have no doubts in recommending this as a place to stay to friends and family. Great getaway, great cottage and even better hosts!

Small and cosy country getaway complete with wood burner and garden that opens on to fields and forest with the opportunity for endless walks yet close enough to the surrounding beaches and restaurants.
PLEASE NOTE MINIMUM STAY OF 3 NIGHTS FOR PEAK HOLIDAY PERIODS THE COTTAGE: The cottage has a sitting room with wood burner & dry stack of wood, a walk-through dining area with door to the garden and a well equipped kitchen. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed the other with 2 singles all made up with fresh bed linen and towels. The bathroom has a bath with shower. Outside is a sweet garden that includes a sun trap with garden table and chairs. The back of the garden takes you straight into nature and numerous walks. THE AREA: Just under 10 miles from the Jurassic coastline and Lyme Regis, the cottage is a true haven where you can trade city life for the tranquility of country life. Thorncombe is a popular village complete with charming shop, church and a school with keys available for use of their small swimming pool in the summer months. Wind your way through the narrow lanes to nearby towns such as Beaminster and Bridport, whether sampling the local brew or just pottering through the Art and Vintage Quarter. Take in a movie at Bridport's wonderfully renovated arts cinema or a wood fire pizza on the beach at West Bay. Maybe go to River Cottage Canteen and Deli in Axminster. There are excellent restaurants and pubs to recommend in every direction and after walking off lunch you can put your feet up by the log fire with a good read. If summer days are calling there's lots to do with the kids, exploring beaches and hunting for fossils on the world famous Jurassic coastline or a trip out fishing for mackerel from Lyme's picturesque harbour. For fun closer to home, the village has a small playground just 3 minutes from the cottage complete with football field and basket ball hoop. A short walk away there's a forest, great for making dens or getting lost amongst the bluebells. For further indulgence try a slice of cake in the village shop. SUMMARY: A holiday to remember no matter your age, with one of the most beautiful swathes of countryside on your door step recognized as an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty bordering Somerset, Devon & Dorset. A car to explore is really an essential unless you are content to explore on foot; the village shop is stocked well for all groceries and local produce and has a small deli counter. There are a number of farm shops further afield. Depending on the kind of break you are looking for, there are many great walks and days out to recommend with some excellent restaurants to match.
A very popular village immersed in stunning countryside within easy reach of the beaches. If you're planning on enrolling on one of the local courses we are well located for Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ or Guy Mallinson's Wood Craft Workshops. Right here in Thorncombe, you could sign up for one of Hannah Lovegrove's Yoga classes.
  • Lovely cottage with all you need for a self-catering break (except sharp knives for cooking; bring your own). We stayed as the coronavirus outbreak was unfolding and so it was a very strange holiday. We’d love to come back at a happier time; we had to keep our distance from the neighbours as many are elderly, but it’s a lovely village and we wish them all the best. Thanks to Caz for letting us extend our break by a couple of nights. There was a great manual in the house with lots of recommendations - again, we’d love to come back and try some of these out when things are back to normal.

    Christina2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Cottage is bijou but beautifully decorated and well supplied. We had everything we needed and more. Thorncombe is a lovely village, the Community Shop / Village Store is an excellent local resource.

  • We had a wonderful time! The cottage is super cosy and in a great location to get around- both by car and local walks. We felt very at home there! It's also dog friendly which was great for us and our Labrador. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage and check in was straightforward with the lockbox. Caz was easy and quick to communicate with. I would certainly recommend this cottage as a great country/ seaside getaway!

    Lucy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage which is perfectly located to explore the Dorset, Devon & Somerset countries and cost. We spent Christmas at the cottage which was the perfect setting for a cosy day and a nice Christmas Day walk. We had everything we needed and all the info provided by Caz was super helpful to make the most of our time.

    Ben2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cottage deep in the countryside and perfect for a relaxing escape. Very conveniently located for country walks and the coast - wish we had longer to explore!

    Harriet2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Caz’s place is a delightful, homely cottage situated in a charming traditional terrace in a very peaceful village location. It is very clean and well equipped and feels pleasantly lived in and loved. We found the wood burning stove a great asset for a November stay and there was a plentiful supply of logs. The surrounding countryside is very appealing, especially if you enjoy walks, and the coast is also nearby. Highly recommended for a peaceful, relaxing stay.

  • Cosy and homely little cottage in lovely rural setting. We loved the snug living room with it’s log burning stove, had amazing nights sleep in the warm and comfy bedroom with its king size bed and complete darkness and quiet, and walking straight out the back garden through fields and woods with countryside in all directions. The kitchen is small but manageable and the shower is hot and strong. Good location to visit surrounding area by car, Seatown and the Golden Cap have great dog walks. Caz also provided some great recommendations on where to eat nearby, The Lord Poulett was particularly good. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you Caz.

A friendly welcome into our warm and cosy log cabin set in the cherry orchard along with the use of our spa with the big Jacuzzi and Sauna. The Cabin is set in a lovely cherry orchard in a coastal village on a quiet and historic lane with views of the cliffs. We have had literally hundreds of happy guests who all enjoy the peace and tranquility of our cherry orchard. It is set within the village and so very near great pub/restaurants and shop. It really is a cabin in the orchard!
Enjoy the highly insulated and toasty warm cabin in winter, or lie in the Orchard under the trees. The cabin is 7m x 4m, and you can Barbecue, and visit the Beach and experience the fine local pubs that serve great food and ale. There are 3 pubs within walking distance! Explore the Majestic Cliffs of the Jurassic coast you may even encounter a fossil if you're lucky. Discover BRIDPORT known as “foodie heaven” tasting lots of local cuisine, visit picturesque Lyme Regis and enjoy getting blown off the famous cob. Excellent opportunities for outdoor sports with ample walking, running and cycling trails. Note you are really close to nature i.e. the odd bird and spider make their presence felt as it really is a log cabin in an orchard :-)
The famous Jurassic Coast of Dorset has been awarded World Heritage Site status. The Dorset and East Devon coastline where countless fossils have been found is a remarkable place. The coast includes the highest point on the south coast right here at Seatown of Golden Cap and the historic nearby resort of Lyme Regis. If you like food we are situated in a Foodie heaven, and Bridport will hopefully ring a bell… it is home to the original River Cottage where Hugh started his quest of local, home grown and foraged stuff. Love food, love West Dorset! You'll find fantastic produce grown in the area and that chefs did not wait for celebrities to tell them to cook local. Take the Riverside two-course meal from £16.50 in West Bay, Bridport's harbour. Bang in the middle of this unpretentious fishing harbour, it looks like a large wooden hut sitting on the river Brit. Fish is the speciality, of course, straight from Lyme Bay. Also the Anchor Pub in Burton, for great food, and the Three Horseshoes... Another good place to enjoy fresh seafood is the Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock also fantastic. These guys are committed to local. There's something tasty for all purses.
  • Warm and cosy cabin. Handy information for the local area and a hot tub too.

    Liz2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous space, perfect for what we wanted and the hot tub was an excellent bonus. William very helpful and flexible to our late check in time. Very much enjoyed

    Amelia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Orchard was absolutely perfect. The place was very clean and tidy, it was just the most beautiful tiny house experience. The facilities were top notch. Really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna, everything was really good quality and great hospitality from William. got a great massage from Tanya, she was so lovely and hospitable too. Location was fantastic too, a short walk from the beach and lovely countryside walks nearby. The place was really quiet, peaceful & zen, it was lovely to see squirrels running around the trees and owls tooting at night! will definitely be coming back again in the future!

    Catherine2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Had an absolutely amazing stay at Will's cabin. Complete flexibility with use of hot tub and sauna. Had a fantastic full body massage from Tanya. Lovely guy. Would 100% recommend.

    Elizabeth2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Me and a friend had a lovely stay at Will's cherry orchard cabin. Great location with just a short walk to the beach for a wonderful hilly walk. There cabin was cosy and warm. The hot tub and sauna was a brilliant added extra. Would definitely come again

    Laura2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. Super sweet, perfect for a little holiday. The village, the walks, the beach... everything around it is beautiful. Highly recommended.

    Ricardo2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cosy cabin in a great location, within walking distance to the coast. The Spa has a hot tub and sauna for you to use which is an added bonus. There is also an option to pay for a massage from Tanya, a holistic therapist. My partner chose to have a full body massage and was really pleased she did! Bridport is approx a 10 minute drive and has all shopping facilities that you will need, with all the different supermarkets. There are several nice pubs close by which do really nice food. The George is at the bottom of the drive, a 2 minute walk which does great food and has local beer on tap. Will was a great host and provided everything we needed, including extra glassware, etc. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others.

    Nathan2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very relaxing perfect for a little getaway from the busy city. Just a walk to the beach with an amazing view. The pubs suggested were wonderful as well. William was a very helpful host. He answered my messages quickly. Hospitality at its best!

  • A wonderful and immaculately clean accommodation which is perfectly placed for a nice stroll into Lyme Regis. Samantha is a lovely friendly host who added some nice little touches.

    Lindsay2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful gem of a property! Well appointed, stylish and cozy with everything you need. There was a log burner which Samantha had already made up and left ready for us to light and welcoming cream teas to greet us after our drive there! Plus lovely little touches like fresh flowers left in different rooms. Samantha was really thoughtful and helpful and the apartment is just a short walk from town. Perfect!

    Luci2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay and very pretty location. The flat was sparkling clean and tastefully decorated. Scones, tea, coffee and milk provided! A 10-15 min pleasant walk into town. • This is an excellent place to stay in Lyme Regis - ideal for a single person or couple. The small house is delightful and complete with everything that is needed for any type of break. John and Samantha are terrific hosts - very helpful (Samantha gave me a lift to Axminster so that I was able to get my connecting train back to London) and will offer any advice needed. If deciding to come to Lyme Regis, I would recommend you use their place as a base to explore the town and the surrounding areas.

She made us feel really welcome and even let us check out late upon departure! Highly recommend for any sort of trip!

  • A lovely, cosy pad to get away for a few days. Quiet location with nice views. Only a short, riverside stroll down into Lyme Regis town itself, so you needn't use your car once your here if you don't want. All the amenities you might want, a compact kitchen but perfectly functional for a couple of people. Comfortable bed beneath a skylight to let the sunshine in in the morning... but with a pull blind if you don't want that. Would stay again.

    Tom2020-03-13T00:00:00Z

Driftwood is situated in a peaceful cul de sac location in a modern family home overlooking the small historic town of Lyme Regis. The compact comfortable first floor bedroom has a spacious en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. 15 minutes walk downhill into Lyme and beach. Be aware it is a steep walk back uphill. Parking available on drive. Not suitable for young children.

There is free parking on the drive, free Wi-fi, TV and DVD player, central heating and easy access to Lyme Regis. Kettle, mini-fridge, toaster are all provided in your room as well as essential ingredients for preparing your own simple breakfast. It’s not a large room but hopefully has everything you could need.
We are situated in a lovely quiet modern development above and to the east of Lyme Regis. Lyme Regis is known as the Pearl of Dorset and is on the famous Jurassic Coast and is an excellent centre for fossil hunting. Kate Winslet was here filming the new film about Mary Anning in Lyme Regis early in 2019. Driftwood is at the end of a cul-de-sac. There may be children playing outside in the summer. Also at certain times of the year there can be some seagull noise. It is also convenient for the renowned River Cottage Restaurant.
  • Hilarie offers a real all-round service! Fridge with everything you need for breakfast is in the room. Maps, excursion tips and information folder for accommodation too. The room is cozy and the bathroom is well equipped. Everything is labeled, so there is absolutely no need to ask for anything. My highlight is the SELF-BAKED bread for breakfast. Really great and Lyme Regis is just super beautiful!

  • Thank you Sam for letting us stay in your lovely flat over Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay, the views were amazing and your flat was extremely cosy. We had a fabulous Christmas dinner at The Royal Lion Hotel and other lovely meals at The Cobb Arms, The Royal Standard and The Lyme Company. We had everything that we needed for our stay. Thanks again.

  • We were looking for the perfect seaside location before the madness of Christmas, and we found it. Perfectly situated next to the harbour, close to the beach and just a short walk to the town. Great pub about 10 metres away (perfect as the weather was horrendous our first night!). The apartment is very stylish and comfortable, really lovely finishing touches. Sam is great- quick communication and very much on it! The steps to the apartment are quite steep as a warning and the parking is close, but up a hill (just a warning if you have bad knees!). All in all, 100% recommend and already planning to go back!

Dedicated off-street parking is provided alongside the property, with a private entrance for exclusive guest use. Opposite is a lovely lawned area planted with silver birch trees, with a wooden bench where guests are welcome to relax and enjoy their surroundings.
Known as The Pearl of Dorset, Lyme Regis is a charming Georgian seaside resort with both sand and pebble beaches and an ancient Cobb harbour. It is situated in Lyme Bay on the Jurassic Coast at the Devon-Dorset Border   Lyme boasts chic shops, quirky cafes, an outstanding bakery, butcher, artisan fudge and icecream makers and pizzerias, plus world-class restaurants (Mark Hix's Oyster and Fish House and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ close by), alongside delightful older shops selling books, fossils and gifts. Set on the spectacular Jurassic Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.   Culturally vibrant, Lyme has its own theatre, museums, galleries and a listed Art Deco cinema, with numerous festivals throughout the year in celebration of the local arts, culture, food, music and geology. In addition, there is a wonderful golf course, popular sailing club and the renowned boat building school. The town is noted for the fossils found in the cliffs and beaches, and this beautiful coastline has been granted World Heritage Site status because of the incredible earth science interest. It is also a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with lovely unspoilt surrounding countryside, much of it owned by the National Trust, providing stunning walks from your front door. Renowned authors who have been inspired by their time here include Jane Austen, Beatrix Potter and famously John Fowles, whose book (and subsequent film) 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' was set in Lyme Regis. More recently, Broadchurch was filmed just a few miles east in Bridport/West Bay. Lyme Regis boasts awesome scenery and a special mystique, making it the perfect resort for all seasons. With its historic harbour and iconic features, there is something for everyone. Due to its position in Lyme Bay, Lyme Regis enjoys its own micro climate that delivers warm sheltered summers and mild winters. There are fantastic shops, restaurants and pubs to explore and enjoy, not to mention the breathtaking natural scenery of the Jurassic Coast.
  • Liz’s retreat was a perfect getaway. It had everything you needed for a couple of nights away. Everything was exceptionally clean with soft modern furnishings throughout. The bathroom was spotless. Check in was faultless. Communication was almost immediate with responses. The location was very good. With a five minute walk down into Lyme Regis. There is a big hill (as with all over Lyme) so if you’re not good on hills after an evening out, you may need a car back up but if you take it slowly it’s absolutely fine. We found the location perfect. We didn’t need to use our car once, the whole time we were there. We would certainly recommend this space and will be going back. Thank you Liz for a perfect couple of nights!

  • Lovely apartment, bright and quirky and in a great location for the town and the sea. Communication with Michelle is excellent. I visited in off-peak season when it was quiet and had a very enjoyable stay.

  • I couldn't recommend Michelle's place enough! It is beautiful, and a wonderful location. 10/10 ✨

  • Lovely little flat in a perfect location. Has everything needed in the flat plus plenty of cafes and restaurants only a short walk away (chippy is literally a few houses away). Lovely to be down at the beach in a couple of minutes in the morning. I recommend the “Aroma” cafe for young kids and healthy foods, or Lyme Bay for an excellent cheese toastie while looking out over the sea.

    Nikki2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lyme Regis was such a treat to go to. Michelle's place was close to the Cobb and walking central. I would definitely stay here again.

    Howard2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Michelle's. She's very kind and good about responding to questions or concerns. The apartment is in a special location, very close to the cliffs and ocean, the Lyme Regis Museum and St Michael's Church, where Mary Anning, the extraordinary 19th Century fossil hunter, is buried. This charming, ancient town is easy to explore from the apartment. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom boasts a huge tub and nice shower. Views are charming from every window. The kitchen is fine, stocked with what you're likely to need to prepare meals if you wish to eat in. The fridge had fresh milk waiting for us (but no freezer). There is also a clothes washing machine and drying rack. The apartment is both airy and warm, a very pleasant place to come home to.

  • This is a lovely, clean flat in a great location.

  • This is a really nice apartment - very central, clean, airy, warm and comfortable. A comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen and very good bathroom. Michelle was clearly on hand and responded immediately to our one query about setting the hot water temperature. Lots of useful information about Lyme Regis - and we enjoyed the 'pond life' jigsaw puzzle ! Many thanks for a relaxing stay.

Lyme Regis is a lovely old seaside town mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Built on two sides of a valley, on the world heritage Jurassic coast it is famous for its fossils and the fossil hunter Many Anning. The beach is sheltered by the Cob made famous in The French Lieutenant Woman and is part pebbles and part golden sand.Marine Parade which runs along the back of the beach is perfect for a gentle stroll, or for getting from one part of the beach to another. A minutes walk down Church street is the Marine Theatre and the Tourist Information centre. There are numerous cafes and restaurants in Lyme Regis, but if you want to go really up market and eat some wonderful fish,go to HIX Oyster and Fish House. Many of my guests also visit River Cottage near Axminster Or why not go out in one of the boats for hire, either to go mackerel fishing or to see the beautiful Jurassic Coast from the sea. You can visit the Museum which has a collection of rare fossils and an exhibition of the life of Mary Anning, the famous Lyme Regis fossil collector. Or visit Dinosaurland and Museum which also has rare local fossils. You could also visit The Marine Aquarium situated on the end of The Cobb where you can see a collection of local marine species. The museum also runs fossil walks, as does the fossil shop and museum on Charmouth Beach. There are other beaches you can visit including Charmouth Beach with its fossil Museum and shop. Seatown a beautiful dog friendly country beach with The Anchor right on the shore. Eype Beach a wild and dog friendly beach,West Bay a quirky little seaside resort where Broadchurch was filmed and Hive Beach just behond Burton Bradstock with its award winning Hive Beach cafe and restaurant. There are numerous places to explore around Lyme Regis, including Bridport, with its vibrant Wednesday and Saturday street market, Arts Centre, Museum and Antique Centre. Bridport also has four supermarkets including a Waitrose and a Lidle. However your nearest large supermarket is Tescos in Axminster. There is also a smaller Tesco's and a Co Op in Broad street in Lyme Regis. In Bridport there are numerous small independent shops cafes and restaurants and is home to a wonderful hat shop, Snooks, which started the Bridport hat festival, which takes place on the first weekend in September. There is also a Boots, Superdrug, Waterstones and numerous charitie shops, where l seem to buy most of my clothes! Bridport has a great leisure centre with a 25 metre swimming pool- where l swim a kilometre every morning- a large baby pool and a well equipped fitness suite. For those of you who are passionate gardeners, as I am, there is Groves Garden Centre,a wonderful place , off the big roundabout coming into Bridport. Then there is the beautiful Devon and Dorset countyside to explore. With its rolling hills, patchwork of small fields and the coastal footpath with breathtakingly beautiful views of the Jurasic coast. There is a wonderful adventure play ground with a seperate area for little children and a playing field behind the house which is accessed from Lym Close and can be seen from the back bedroom. If it's a wet day and you want to do something with all the family, why not visit the Jurassic fun park in The Freshwater caravan park . lt has an indoor swimming pool with slide and baby pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Open from 10am to 6pm everyday it costs just £5.80 for adults and £3.40 for children. lts about 15 miles from Lyme Regis and is on the road from Bridport to Burton Bradstock. l hope you enjoy your stay in Lyme Regis
  • A perfect Airbnb experience. Tess could not have made our family more welcome. Arriving to home-baked scones (with instructions on best serving) was a delight. The fridge was beyond well stocked and there were toys out for our little one. The house immediately felt like a home. The cottage is perfectly situated for short walks into town or longer ones to fossil hunt. If Tess will have us we will definitely back as my fossil hunting duck must be broken.

    Benjamin2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Tess’s house. The place is so welcoming and homely and Tess has thought of everything you might need. Our 3 year loved exploring and was sad when we had to leave. In a great location with the beach and town minutes away and we found the parking space next to the house really convenient. Highly recommended, We’ll definitely be back!

    Jen2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tess is a fab host. We arrived and Tess was there to meet us and gave us a tour of the property. Tess has everything at the property to make sure your stay is comfortable and thinks of everything we would need, very thoughtful. The house was very clean and tidy and it was also great to park the car outside the property. The homemade scones made by Tess were very yummy and a great touch after our long journey. I would highly recommend this house and looking forward to returning. Lyme is also a beautiful sea side town and only minutes walk from the house with loads of restaurants, bars and shops. Perfect holiday location.

  • A wonderful cosy cottage, within a very easy stroll to the centre of town. A fantastic welcome from Tess, from helpful communication before we arrived, to a well stocked condiment cupboard & fresh home made scones.

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent, would highly recommend. Fantastic house, location and host. Parking was a real bonus as well as the kind thoughtful touches - bread, milk, bacon and fresh scones on arrival!

    Hannah2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to stay when visiting Lyme. Tess goes above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable in every aspect of her house. Location is fabulous too - a short walk to the town and the seafront and a parking space for the car (which you won't need)!

    Della2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in the hearth of Lyme Regis, leaving the car parked you are minutes away from the beach and restaurants. If you love fish, you will be in heaven here.

There are many other walks that can be done in the locality. In fact, there are lots to things to do and see in the region. During our short stay we enjoyed meals at the River Cottage Canteen in Axminster and the Hix Oyster & Fish House. We would recommend both restaurants.

The space was perfect for 2 for a Christmas getaway and had lots of kitchen items for cooking our Xmas lunch. location perfect for walks around and back to Lyme. Comfy bedroom and bed and great high pressure shower. Only minor issue is small bruise on my forehead from hitting the stair while putting rubbish in the bin! But it wasn’t helped by the several malbecs on xmas day! Wish we could have Spent many more days at little roost.

  • Such a romantic place to spend some time. Quiet and peaceful, with the woods all around. We had a few picturesque walks around the area and would have dearly to have visited a few pubs along the way but sadly they are all closed up for the moment. The house was clean and modern and everything was provided and our hosts were thoughtful and kind - nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this cosy hideout. Sarah

    Sarah2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly special - the location is beautiful. Private yet near a delightful river side walk into Lyme. The accommodation is gorgeous and the setting amongst the trees in the grounds of a very lovely house truly magical. Sally is a wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to ensure our stay was all that we wanted it to be and more. Freshly baked bread, scones, gluten free bread, Prosecco, extra wood for the wood burner....

    Roger2020-03-22T00:00:00Z

  • The Hideaway is a wonderful place to getaway from the hussle and bussle of life. Everything is beautifuly presented, comfortable and sparklingly clean. The extra touches Sally and her family provide make the stay a home from home in such a peaceful and tranquil environment.

    Rachel2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's Hygge Hideaway was a fantastic place for a secluded weekend break. The property is tastefully decorated and everything is to a high spec. On a wet and windy weekend, the log stove was a real treat and left us more than happy to spend most of the day in this cosy retreat. Sally was a pleasure to deal with, communication was great and she went out of her way with some personal touches to greet us as well as bringing us some extra fuel for the fire on day 2 in the middle of a downpour! Would highly recommend a visit.

    Gary2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Hygge Hideaway was a lovely weekend escape to the Jurassic Coast. Impeccable design, and sparkling clean, it was perfect for a wintery weekend recharge. Very easy communication from Sally, with thoughtful meaningful touches thrown in to make it special. Brilliant to be within short walking distance (along the bridleway in the day, and along the road at night) from Lyme Regis itself, and we also enjoyed a long walk along Charmouth beach. Thank you very much!!

  • Lovely house and great communication with Tracey. Great location within Lyme Regis

    Jay2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Tracey's lovely house for a long weekend during Storm Dennis. The weather was dreadful, the house was perfect! We battled with wind and rain and dragged several moody teenagers out for bracing, wild and wet walks and then came back to the toastiest house possible to dry off and warm up. The kids loved having Netflix to watch. Super comfy beds too. Great location, just a few short steps to everywhere we wanted to go, we didn't need to drive all weekend. Tracey was a wonderful host who met us within minutes of our arrival. We hope to come back (but without the storm next time please!)

You will enjoy the central location of our apartment with its free parking it's a case of literally park up and walk everywhere! Recline on a wicker chair on the sun deck and take in the views that stretch across to Portland. Back inside our mid-century style apartment listen to the vinyl collection on our vintage Dan set record player or digital DAB radio. Watch the Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube. At night, sleep between White Company cotton sheets on our comfortable bed.
The highlight of the property is the sun deck with chairs. This gets the morning sun, ideal for coffee and to admire the stunning view. Towards Portland. We also have a garden that you can look over or wander around. The parking is literally outside in a private car park. It is designated for your own private use.
Situated at the top of the high street, from here it's easy to walk to everything in this vibrant town. Stroll to the seafront, shops, and restaurants, along with traditional English pubs. Catch the bus down the hill to visit Bridport and Seaton.
  • The apartment was clean and tidy, it over looked the sea. It had everything one could want for a weekend away. The power shower nearly blew me away.

  • Lovely stay at Leotie for our Anniversary. Delia was super lovely and very hospitable when we arrived, saw us off too and gave great recommendations for Lyme Regis. Thanks, Delia!

    James2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing find! From the moment we booked Leotie, Delia was quick to respond and answered questions promptly. On arrival we were greeted by an incredibly kind and friendly host, who instantly made us feel welcome. She showed us around, explained the basics and then left us to enjoy the peace and comfort! The cabin is SO comfortable, cosy and warm; Delia very kindly provided milk, tea, coffee, cereals, butter and jam which we enjoyed at breakfast. Leotie is spotlessly clean and very private; no problem with parking directly outside the main property. Great position for trips around the area and certainly within walking distance to the town, although we chose to drive as the weather was dodgy and it was also very dark! We will not hesitate to recommend Leotie and Delia to family and friends. Thanks Delia for a great break.

  • Delia is an absolute joy. She gave us such a warm and bubby welcome, really made us feel at home. Her lodge is lovely and cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing night. There is an impressive weeping willow tree hanging over the lovely little garden and she told us about the owls which chill there. The lodge and Delia together makes such a magical stay. In the morning, we took a absolutely lovely walk into Lyme Regis. Not far from Delia's house is a river walk taking you down to Lyme Regis seafront, which we throughly enjoyed. We would love to return to Delia's lodge. Thank you. :)

  • Stayed here as we were going to River Cottage on the Saturday night. Delia was a super-friendly host and also very easy to get hold of and provided clear instructions for arrival and parking. Room was amazingly clean and the location was perfect for us as we spent the afternoon at the coast in Lyme Regis which was a 5 minute drive away then River Cottage for our evening meal which was a 15 minute drive away. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if we ever came back to the area!

    Ben2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Delia welcomed us to the property with a great big cheerful smile. She made sure we were settled and happy, before leaving us to enjoy Lyme Regis. The property was so cozy and clean. Delia even set up a travel cot for our daughter. The bed was better than my own and the bathromm facilities were spotless. A nice touch to have tea, coffee and breakfast cereals laid out for us too. Highly recommended

The chalet/studio has everything you need in one lovely space for a long or a short stay. It's light and fresh, has a spacious clean feel with white walls and solid oak floor. Theres a fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cater for themselves with double doors opening into a private courtyard area which is a real sun trap. It's a peaceful idyllic setting backing onto meadows and a beautiful hill. The chalet is only a 3 min drive into Lyme or 20 min walk on average.
This chalet is open plan bed sitting room and kitchen with a separate bathroom and large walk in shower incorporated in the space. There's a comfy double bed, two seated sofa and tv. In the kitchen area there's a hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and everything you need on a holiday. The courtyard area is private with table and chairs.
Whalley lane is a quiet residential lane just of the main route into lyme. There are fantastic walks in every direction to lyme along the stream or through the woods or the coast path. The viaduct is a short walk away. There's 2 campsites very close by. Great pub The Talbot Arms and uplyme stores that has fuel and groceries.
  • Great stay, exceeded our expectations, would definitely recommend.

  • A great place to stay. Very quiet location. It’s a lovely walk along the river into the town. There’s pretty much everything you need for short stay. Ideal for couples. We’ll definitely be returning.

    Claire2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was very clean and stylish place. Everything you need and only 15 min walk from the sea front. Darren recommended the Pilot Boat and the food and service there was excellent. Enjoyed our stay and Darren responded to us very quickly and was friendly. If anything, could do with a better corkscrew ;-) but this place has everything you need and we cooked our own fry up easily. Many thanks.

  • Great use of space, close to the sea, quiet little hideaway

    Daniel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in Lyme Regis was absolutely delightful and the space at Lymeleigh was wonderful. It is cosy and small with everything I needed. Hot shower, a comfy bed, kitchen space, table and chairs, sofa, TV. I was snug as a bug after two great long walks along the coast. Darren couldn't have been more welcoming. Would absolutely recommend this gem to anyone looking for a bolthole by the sea. I hope to return.

    Sarah2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This carefully thought out space is perfect for a stay by the sea! It is bright, cheerful, modern and cosy and has everything you need for your stay. There are lovely soft towels and good bedding with a comfortable bed. The place sparkles too! There’s an outside seating area, with a sea view, where you can eat in the summer and in 10 minutes you can be in the centre of Lyme Regis. We parked right outside which is very useful. Darren and Sarah were always quick to communicate which we appreciated as we’d travelled a long way to get there. We really enjoyed our time there!

  • Brilliant accommodation in a great location. Everything you need for a base in Lyme Regis.

    Hayley2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Paddy and Rikey were fantastic hosts and really made our trip to Lyme Regis a special one. The room is very cute with a local fossil theme (since Paddy is the museum geologist) even supplying the guests with postcards of fossils found in the area. There is a small, and efficient kitchen space and bathroom. Everything was perfect for us and perfect for going fossil hunting. The space was well planned out with a little entrance room for sandy boots and wet coats. It was quiet at night and the bed was quite cosy and we slept very well. They even supplied us with some essential food and shower items. Thank you both for such an incredible stay! P.s. I’d really recommend going on one of the fossil walks led by Paddy. You’ll be sure to find some treasures!

As far as parking goes, as it’s not possible to park at the property best to park at the long stay which is about a 5 minute walk away, and leave it there. Just £2 a day. Highly recommended.

Get away from it all with a stay in our wonderful beach hut. Wake up to the spectacular views and the sounds of the sea. Monmouth Beach is just next to the famous Cobb Harbour. The Beach Hut has a veranda that you can sit out on and enjoy the views. The Chalet is suitable for couples or even a small family, as it can sleep upto 4.
  • Lovely location, lovely beach hut. A little compact if there are 4 people. Be aware there is no tv or wifi but if you want peace and quiet it is great.

    Jane2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely beach chalet, and a really unique opportunity to stay right on the beach and hear the waves crashing at night. Really cosy place.

  • I spent 4 nights in the cabin, to go fossil hunting with my 10-year-old son. We had a great time. The cabin is well-equipped, close to town, which can be reached by public transport. Highly recommended.

  • A cosy, stylish chalet in a perfect location on the beach. It was so peaceful yet only a few minutes walk from the harbour, beach and shops. The welcome wine, milk and biscuits were very much appreciated. Looking forward to staying again!

    Holly2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little beach hut. Amazing location (quiet enough to get some real peace and just enjoy the surroundings but only a 5 minute walk into lyme). Acomodation was very clean and well laid out, kitchen was small but fully functioning and well packed with everything required to cook some proper meals (not just a microwave). Bed was comfortable and quirky being up on the mezzanine area. Bathroom clean and well presented, shower was powerful. All in all this was an excellent place to stay for a midweek break and myself and partner wouldn't have changed a thing.

    Will2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely stunning place to stay. 27 monmouth beach had everything we could have wished for and more. Incredibly spacious for a beach hut, beautiful scenery and spectacular views of the stars when staying in the mezzanine. Sarah and Niel responded quickly to any queries we had and on arrival we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine, as well as having milk tea and coffee there for us. The beach hut was cleaned to a high standard and all the equipment you needed for making meals were available. The wet room was to high standard as well as all the furnishings, and of course parking at the back was an added bonus. We have stayed at Lyme Regis many times before, however this little gem was by far the best. We can't wait to go again. Tanya and James

  • Everything about this place is just amazing!! So close to the town but it’s such a peaceful place to stay. We could hear the sea all night and it was amazing. Great hosts who left help booklets around the house. Please stay here to experience the surroundings. I can’t wait to stay here again

Famed for its location on the stunning Jurassic Coast, Lyme Regis is an outstanding location for fossil hunting, beach combing, walking and dining. Located on the top floor, the guest accommodation has an en-suite shower, tea/coffee making facilities, free wifi access, and a TV with DVD player, plus a selection of DVDs. A unique and romantic hideaway, Quarryman's Cottage is dinner on the roof terrace watching the sunset over Lyme Bay & Charmouth, stargazing from the luxury freestanding bath, epic views from the double shower, reading under the old oak tree, BBQ's & firepits, leisurely walks to The Anchor at Seatown via Golden Cap or the coastal path, the sound of birdsong, the glimpse of a deer, curling up in front of the wood burner in winter. It is a tranquil & heavenly escape from the bustle of daily life.
Quarryman’s Cottage is a beautiful and newly renovated one bedroom cottage that was built in the mid 1800’s (it had never previously had mains electric or running water). Sitting over 600 feet above sea level, The Quarryman's Cottage has the most stunning far reaching views of Lyme Bay, Lyme Regis and Charmouth. As an upside down house it makes the most of those views. The open plan living and kitchen area on the top floor opens via French doors onto a large roof terrace in one direction and a paved terrace in the other. The bedroom and large luxury ensuite bathroom are downstairs. It has been thoughtfully designed to create a light and airy property with large window’s in all rooms and French doors also opening out from the bedroom. It is south west facing guaranteeing you sun all day and the most wonderful sunsets all year round. The cottage is furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new. Beautiful vintage wood furniture bought from local antique markets. Ercol 'straight back' dining chairs sit beside an antique pine table, an old headmasters book cupboard has been loving restored to create a pantry cupboard and an old Teak ships door, found on Sanna beach in the Scottish Highlands over 35 years ago adorns the wall. Reclaimed pine joists create the floor in the bedroom and upstairs, the original pine boards lovingly restored by the owners. An Oak and powder coated steel spiral staircase from Italy takes you between floors. The roof terrace is furnished with a heavy solid wood table and benches plus a BBQ. There are 2 bulkhead lights which at night illuminate the surrounding tree’s creating the feeling that you are sitting within them. The kitchen is fully kitted out to a high specification with a dishwasher, washing machine, gas hob, electric oven and a gorgeous Belfast sink hidden behind an oak worktop allowing for extra worktop space. It has everything you need to create fabulous home cooked meals if you opt to eat in. The living area has a 2 seater sofa, side table, dining table and chairs, a beautiful Charnwood wood-burner, a large window seat, a smart TV with built in DVD player and a bluetooth speaker for listening to music. The bedroom has a kingsize solid wood bed, hotel quality Egyptian cotton sheets and towels, two vintage Elm chairs for bedside tables, a large antique trunk, chest of drawers and a window seat with cushions and blankets. The large ensuite bathroom has been fitted to a very high standard. A stunning ‘double’ shower with far reaching views of Lyme Bay and Charmouth, a freestanding bath sits across the corner of the room under both windows allowing for a spot of stargazing, the freestanding sink sits upon a piece of reclaimed sycamore and the lighting hints at a nautical theme with stylish bulkheads, one of which which can also be dimmed allowing for ‘mood lighting’ whilst taking a bath. The garden comprises of various different area’s. The paved terrace is surrounded by a variety of tree’s and is a great sun trap. The woodland area under two large Oaks tree’s is perfect for lazy afternoons in the shade reading. The lawned area gets the sun for the whole of the day is a great spot for sun bathing and of course there is the afore mentioned roof terrace. There are two apple tree's which provide a constant supply of fruit in the Autumn. There is currently parking for one car on the lower access level however there will be an option to park at the top later in the year. Heating during the winter is via the woodburner as well as Haverland Wave electric radiators (with thermostat and timers). Wood is found at the back of the cottage in the log store. Well behaved dogs are very welcome.
Morcombelake is a wonderful coastal community surrounded by National Trust parks in West Dorset’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Quarryman’s Cottage at West Bullen is nestled into the side of Hardown Hill, a National Trust park which is heather covered in late Summer and Autumn. It also offers the most spectacular far reaching views over Lyme Bay to the West, the ancient farming land of The Marshwood Vale to the North and Golden Cap, Chesil Beach, and Portland to the South East. Hardown Hill is perfect for an early morning or an evening walk with or without your four legged friend, taking in the sunsets, far reaching views or for a spot of night time stargazing. The cottage is surrounded by a small woodland area which provide a home for deer, as well as owls and kites. Throughout the year a herd of Belted Galloway cow’s graze on a mature meadow which sits to the left of the property. The village boasts an fantastic farm shop ‘Felicities’, perfect for stocking up with local seasonal produce. There is a cafe called Annies which serves the ‘best cooked breakfast’ for miles as well as lunch and afternoon tea and the famous Moores Biscuits which has a shop and deli and bakes bread daily. There are many stunning walks directly from the cottage to the South West Coastal Path which then leads you towards Eype and West Bay via Golden Cap and or Charmouth and Lyme Regis in the other. Should you wish to walk as far as say Lyme Regis then there are buses which also take dogs to bring you back making it easy to leave the car behind. Sights such as the Holloway at Hell's Lane in North Chideock are also within walking distance. The seaside hamlet of Seatown is a gentle 45 minute walk via Langdon Woods and there you will find the award winning Anchor pub (tourism pub of the year 2017) which sits overlooking the beach. It serves five star food created with local produce and serves local wines and ale. West Bullen is situated up a quiet lane with no through traffic (apart from the local farmer). It is only a few miles from the beach at Seatown or Stonebarrow and Charmouth. It is a short drive to the seaside town of Lyme Regis and the famous sites at West Bay from the TV show Broadchurch. Throughout the year the area hosts some world class events: The Bridport Literary Festival, Dorset Art Weeks, Devon and Somerset Open Studios, The Bridport Food Festival, Food Rocks, Weymouth Seafood Festival, Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week, to name a few. If you want to venture a little further afield then we are 45 minutes from the stunning Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door to the East or Dartmoor to the West. Should you opt for some ‘non coastal’ days out then look no further than the spectacular Forde Abbey House and Gardens, Bicton Park, The Swannery at Abbotsbury, Mapperton House and Gardens or you could venture out on the Thomas Hardy tour.
  • We had an amazing weekend at Louise's cottage. An absolute gem... Perfectly renovated and decorated, the fireplace is fabulous when coming back from a good hike. Louise was very reactive when sending messages, very welcoming and arranging for the check-in and check-out times. We would definitely recommend it to you!

    Marion2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. What a great few days away we have just had. The cottage is absolutely stunning - renovated beautifully, gorgeous views and wonderfully cosy. Louise is a fantastic host and her communication up to and during our stay was the best we've had with Airbnb.

  • Beautiful cottage with lots of characters, and a stunning view!! Very hospitable and thoughtful host. We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage, very accessible for nice beaches for dog walks! Would highly recommend!

  • The Quarryman’s cottage is utterly wonderful. So stylish and peaceful. We loved it and can’t wait to come back!

    Denise2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We booked our stay at Louise’s lovely little cottage to get some peace and quiet from the city, it delivered perfectly. The space is great for 2 plus doggy. We loved the beautiful views from the sofa and the bath tub. No houses overlooked us which made it private and tranquil. Louise was always at hand, but also left us to enjoy the cottage.

    Richard2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing few days at the cottage. The views are breath taking and the cottage is modern with a Scandinavian feel, which we really love. Louise was so helpful with great tips of places to visit and eat locally. Superb!!!!

  • This was the BEST Airbnb experience. Everything was incredible from Louise’s thoughtful messages during the stay, to the high standard of accommodation & attention to detail in the property. Great quality bedding & towels, idyllic setting, privacy, information on hand & all packaged together perfectly. We loved being here, adored the wood burner & will definitely be back. Thank you Louise.

    Karen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is simply amazing. Modern, but with a touch of history both inside and out. Everything you could ever need is there, alongside a view that is stunning both day and night. The space has a quiet serenity about it, being set in the hills, and is completely private. Louise was a perfect host and was warm and welcoming when we arrived after dark. She was very attentive and made sure we have everything we need, as well as responding promptly to messages. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend Louise's cottage if you're looking for somewhere on the Jurassic Coast.

My place is good for couples and families. Morlais's cosy Log Cabin with its own garden and barbeque, is situated to the rear of our property, great countryside views and some coastal and sea views. The Cabin is very popular with both couples and families, it has a super comfortable king size bed, a new bed settee (suitable for 1 adult or 2 small children) with television, full size fridge, microwave, tea/coffee making facilities, an ideal base for exploring Lyme Regis.
Our beautiful Log Cabin is situated to the rear of our property with its own garden, great countryside views, and some sea views, situated in a quiet area but only approx 10 minute stroll to town, beach it's an ideal base to explore Lyme Regis and surrounding area.
Our neighbourhood is quiet, and very safe only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town, beach and restaurants.
  • A nice homely 'cabin' with lot's of thoughtful touches. This was a last minute booking to enable us to meet up with friends who were staying locally over the New Year period, so we needed to take the dog! It proved ideal for the dog and nicely located between Lyme Regis and Uplyme. Sally has thought of everything that her guests might need and was a great host.

  • Perfectly placed to walk into Lyme Regis along a lovely small river. Great for our dog too! Lovely bed linen and towels and perfect small kitchen essentials such as olive oil, salt etc. Wood burning stove great for our February stay. Very clean and very speedy communication. Thank you

  • The studio is even cosier and lovelier than we thought. It's a great place to retreat to; it's private but also light in the day and snug in the evening, with the terrace and log-burner. We had terrible weather but that didn't matter. We had everything we needed - board games, the fire, a kitchen and table. It's all stylish and very well thought-out, which makes the whole stay even more enjoyable and smooth. It was a lovely touch to arrive to wine and biscuits, and logs for the fire. Whilst we visited in winter, we can imagine it's also lovely in the summer with the bbq and terrace. The area is great - walking distance to Lyme Regis but also Uplyme feels more remote - in a good way - as it feels much more rural. Thanks for a great trip! We would definitely recommend the studio and can imagine it would suit a real array of visitors.

  • A stylish, well appointed private annexe based in a perfect location to explore the Jurassic Coast. So quiet and peaceful. It’s a beautiful 25 min riverside walk into Lyme Regis, and only 5 min walk to the local pub. Our dog loved it too, the enclosed deck was a god send. Even with some awful weather, we had a fabulous time and can’t wait to go back to discover more about this incredible area of Dorset/Devon. Highly recommended!

  • This is a lovely place to stay, really tranquil and excellent accommodation. Comfy bed, all you need really for a stay away. Good location for getting around to lots of places - walking or by car. Great host.

    Carole2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Small but perfectly formed. Very quiet. Tucked away but a stones throw from Lyme Regis. Very nice.

    Charlotte2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We spent four nights at the garden studio - enjoying late summer sunshine in this tranquil location. The studio is small but perfectly formed, with a high standard of fixtures and fittings. Good bedding, towels and toiletries all much appreciated. The private deck is perfect for enjoying a wine to end the day. The nights are relaxing and peaceful with no noise or interruptions. The location of the garden studio is its best asset. A lovely 25 minute walk along the riverside brings you straight into Lyme Regis and all it has to offer. This means you can leave the car untouched and avoid the hassle of trying to find parking in town. There are also plenty of other small towns and places of interest within a half hour drive if you choose to explore further. Overall a lovely place to relax and unwind. Would definitely revisit. Thank you for having us to stay Vanessa!

    Owen2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is very well designed, modern, cozy and everything was sparkling clean. It had everything you needed and some nice extra touches too. Parking space right outside the door and private deck was great, the whole place felt very private. Would definitely stay here again. Our stay was made even better by our visits from Friday the adorable tiny dog!!

  • Nigel was approachable and it felt fine to contact him to query anything. The location is awesome for the beach few minutes walk away. You can hear the sea from outside his house. The accommodation was very clean and could not fault this in any way. Breakfast was well cooked and selection of drinks was vast. I loved my ginger and lemon tea, and my dad certainly loved the Nespresso on offer (sorry if he cleaned you out! ;-)) Nigel as a host was warm and welcoming, we came to Charmouth to fossil hunt so it great that he had some good knowledge of this and the surrounding areas. All in all, this is a little gem and we will be back to stay again. Thank you!

  • Enjoyed a short break at the Lymeshack. Although basically a holiday chalet, it is very well equipped and every need is catered for. In particular, the bathroom space was much larger than expected and the shower was superb. Location could not be better with wonderful views out to sea and across to the Cobb. It was very peaceful and quiet during our stay.

Lyme Regis is an ancient down awarded it's Royal Charter in 774 A.D The sea is its food and seeing the historic harbour, the Cobb, is a must. The sea has abundant wildlife and rockpooling is great fun for all ages, but check the tide times carefully before venturing out. (Tide Tables are available in the apartment). Lyme is famous too for its fossils and there's no need to climb the cliffs to find them. Many can be found along the seashore but again, be aware of the tides.
