Places to stay in Macatawa

Places to stay in Macatawa
Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). It's neat, cozy and comfortable. Big, beautiful patio space can be shared with main house. Quiet location, 2 blocks from Lake Macatawa, and just miles from downtown Holland, Saugatuck, and beaches like Saugatuck dunes and Oval beach. Take an evening hike at Sanctuary Woods just around the corner. Also includes cable and wifi!
This is a cozy, clean, comfortable space in a quiet neighborhood. We are on almost an acre of property and back up to a wooded area, making it a peaceful place to enjoy lake breezes. In addition to the bedroom's queen-sized bed, there is a new double-sized sleeper sofa to give extra space for larger parties, or guests that like to spread out. We are a short walk from Sanctuary Woods, and link up to a well-maintained, paved walking/biking path that connects all over Holland. Take advantage of Holland's excellent Farmer's Market, dining, and shopping options. We are also near Saugatuck/Douglas and all its artistic charm, to say nothing of the area beaches! Being a little "out of the way" means you're not stuck in tourist traffic!
This is a quiet neighborhood a bit out of town. It is mostly family homes, but there is a restaurant, Black Sheep, and convenience store nearby (about 1 mile).
  • great for a work trip

  • You can expect a private, cozy, adorably furnished cottage. Everything you need for a quiet get away for two (or a few more if you don't mind everyone in the same room - the space is open concept except for the bathroom. Sitting area with comfy sofa, last blanket and pillows and large tv with assortment of movies, books and games. Kitchen including oven/stove range, sink with drinking water filter, cookware, coffeemaker and toaster and mini fridge. Bedroom has very comfortable full sized bed (guessing memory foam mattress?) And plenty of blankets (down comforter was a really, really nice touch on February nights. Thermostat for the whole place. Bathroom is relatively small, with the water heater in the corner and well pump under the shelves, but clean and functional with toilet, sink/mirror, shower stall, clean towels for two, and nice hot water. Bath soap, shampoo and conditioner were a nice touch. Check in and out were easy and Jamie was very responsive via text. We didn't actually interact with the family but Jamie made it clear she would assist if needed. Despite the cottage being in the family's back yard, we felt we had a lot of privacy and hope we didn't interrupt our hosts' privacy too much coming and going. Overall, one of our best Airbnb experiences yet. Would definitely do again. Thanks, so much, Jamie!

Located on Lake Macatawa, with panoramic views of the water, this completely remodeled cottage is the perfect lakeside getaway. The Seashell is located near various beaches, bike paths, shipyards, hiking trails, and 10 minutes away from downtown Holland. Macatawa Bay Yacht Club and Eldean's Shipyard are just down the street also. There are various apple orchards for festive picking in the Fall, multiple breweries, as well as cozy coffee shops and great restaurants downtown.
No stairs, all one level. We prefer to have adults only!
Very quiet, has a resort feel. Every day is a vacation in Macatawa.
  • Very clean, great location, love the decor! Wish there was more to do in the winter but lovely just to hangout and relax after the holidays! House needs a bigger tv for the winter

This small cottage/guest house is located about 2 miles from the Holland State Park and 3 miles from downtown. It is perfectly situated behind the main house with it's own parking area and space. The back door opens to a view of a large open field. Great for singles or couples.
This small, private cottage/guest house is accessed by turning into the driveway and through the first set of gates to the back of the property where you will see the house right next to the barn. Parking is in front of the house and there will be a key available for easy and self access. The inside of the house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay including t.v. and internet. Holland State Park is about 2 miles down the road and our wonderful downtown Holland is about 4 miles away. This tiny house is off of the main road and the back door view into the field makes it seem like you are in your own private little hideaway.
  • The tiny house behind the main house was perfect. The perfect spot for a couple to get away for a few days. We especially enjoyed the patio on the back of the house where we spent a lot of time sitting, looking at the night sky.

Hemingway's Hideaway is located in a gated community that is peaceful and serene in Macatawa, Michigan. It is walking distance from the famous "Big Red" lighthouse and a short 10 minute drive to Saugatuck/Douglas and Holland as well as many beautiful cross country and snowshoe trails along with golf courses including an Arnold Palmer course called "The Ravines" With a private beach, you can leave your SUP/Kayaks and other things without worry. Picnics are not problem, however fires are not allowed on the beach. We have beach chairs and an umbrella for our guests-
  • Cynthia's place was excellent! We very much enjoyed the walk along the beach to the lighthouse. Even though it was November and the lake level high, we didn't get our feet wet (but was close in one place). The location is unlike what I am used to in Michigan, as it is up in hills with winding roads, so really liked that as well. Communication was superb. Also enjoyed the windmill park and next time will be sure to come back when it is open - very authentic! Dank je wel!

  • Great place to stay if in the Holland area.

    Jeannine2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tripp Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. With easy access to a private beach and just minutes from both Holland and Saugatuck it was the ultimate location. We enjoyed watching the beautiful sunsets and walking the beach each morning and evening. Cynthia was an excellent host, showing us how to get to the beach and giving us great eatery suggestions. We had breakfast at The Southerner in Saugatuck and would go back in a heartbeat. We loved every second of our trip and definitely want to study at Tripp Cottage again.

    Genevieve2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia is a great host and her guest suite is the perfect launching point for tons of fun on the lake! As a true local, she has lots of suggestions on where to eat and things to see. Her house is a short drive to downtown Holland and almost hidden high in the hills in a very nice and safe neighborhood. The bed is also crazy comfortable.

    Kimberly2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Macatawa! The place was cozy and had plenty of amenities. The neighborhood was adorable and you can’t beat the private beach. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway.

Location! Location! Location! Built in 2016 our home is nestled in the Ottawa Beach Historic District just steps from both Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. You can't beat our location with access to beaches, marinas, bike paths, Mt. Pisgah Dune boardwalk and more. The area is your playground! The guest suite offers a private entrance, two bedrooms (2 twins and a queen), a full bath, a sitting area with smart TV, coffee pot and mini-fridge and heat/AC in a superb location near the beaches.
The closest hotel to this area is 6.5 miles away. Instead of a pool, we have the shores and beaches of Lake Michigan or a smaller beach on Lake Mac. Our home is newer construction which means you have the modern comforts of a solid structure, A/C and heat. A Baby Webber offers you the option to grill out if you choose. The mini-fridge provides space for grill food, meats, beverages, veggies and fruits. Pack a lunch and some snacks for the beach. Take a walk to the pier. Enjoy a bike ride down the many bike paths in the area.
We are located in the historic district of Ottawa Beach. It is a nice quiet area nestled between state and county land with access to both Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Many people walk, run and bike around this area, climb the stairs at Mt. Pisgah, grab a bite to eat at the General Store or Ottawa Beach Inn.
  • Fantastic place for a getaway, very clean and modern. Had great time staying here in Holland. Would be convenient access to the lakes when in season. Will come back in the summer for sure.

    Marzena2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Maureen’s and Ed’s house. I can highly recommend it. Maureen and Ed are very friendly, down to earth, and helpful, but you can have all the privacy that you want or need. There are two beds in two different bedrooms and Maureen tells me that she only rents out one at a time. I only mention this because one bed has a very soft memory foam mattress and the other is a bit more firm, so if you decide to stay here maybe you should check out the two beds by sitting on them and then decide which room you would like. I found the memory foam mattress much too soft when I sat on the bed, and my hosts had already gone upstairs to bed, so I made the decision to switch bedrooms. Fortunately, this did not seem to bother Maureen when I told her the next morning. They made me coffee and Maureen fixed me some eggs and gave me a really great, homemade muffin to eat for breakfast.

We offer a basement suite, located in a quiet neighborhood. Our goal is to provide a comfortable,“Dutch clean”, friendly accommodation, at a very reasonable price. This is a great place to stay while visiting family or friends, exploring the wonders of West Michigan, or while on a business trip. We are conveniently located about 2 miles from Hope College and historic downtown Holland which offers a great assortment of shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, and a farmers market to experience.
Our basement suite consists of a BR with a queen bed, a private bath, and a LR that has a kitchenette at one end. The LR has a sofa and 2 chairs plus a small table and chairs for eating. We can accommodate 2 extra persons by setting up a Frontgate inflatable queen size air bed in the basement LR. An additional person is welcome to make a bed on the couch. We are licensed in the city of Holland as a short term public lodging facility, certificate #CSTR18104.
This is a classic all-American neighborhood in a heavily wooded section of town. We live on a cul-de-sac with lots of kids playing on the streets in nice weather. If you're here more than a day you'll likely meet some of our good neighbors.
  • Kathy and her husband were very friendly and accommodating.

    Matthew2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised -- Kathy and Jim love hosting people and are welcoming, friendly, and interested in getting to know their guests. The place was clean and tidy. The breakfast snacks were an added bonus. We appreciated the use of their iron and ironing board. Coming and going was easy, even when we were out late in the evening. Because it is a basement suite, there are definitely noises audible from upstairs. It didn't bother us, but if you are a visitor hoping to sleep in, it will help to be a sound sleeper! Very thoughtful hosts, would recommend.

    Hanna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I am a frequent guest at Kathy's. I highly recommend!

    Rachel2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy, Jim and Jody offer a very welcoming, very relaxing, very comfortable place to call home while in Holland. Everything about it is wonderful - especially the hosts! I'll be back!

    Bridget2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed an impromptu trip and thoroughly enjoyed the ice flows in the channel and the sunset!

    Kimberly2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • There place is immaculately clean. It is close and convenient to downtown Holland and only 15 minutes away from West Olive or Saugatuck. Kathy and her family are very friendly and welcoming. They invite you into their lovely house and you stay in their Lower level/finished basement. Doesn’t feel like a basement, it has a private bedroom, bathroom/shower, couch, mini fridge, table, and tv. She generously leaves light breakfast stuff, bottled water, and cookies for her guests. Her family do stay there while you are there so it’s not a 100% private place, but it didn’t bother us because we mainly were there just to sleep. They keep to themselves, but if you want to talk and share stories, they will invite you upstairs to get to know each other. We will definitely be back for our next visit! Lovely awesome place!

This charming 5 bedroom, 2 bath cottage is featured on Houzz and Apartment Therapy. With room for the entire family you can be sure to enjoy the exquisite location that is walking distance to the marina, the Big Red lighthouse and close access to Holland and Saugatuck for some of the best dining and shopping around.
The cottage has a very open, circular layout and is perfect for large groups of friends or family. The cottage was completely remodeled 8 years ago, however it is still retains it's charm. We have a variety of hand-picked antiques, beautiful original wood floors and fixtures throughout the house. Please note that this is a 1930's cottage, so if you're used to only staying in hotels, this might not be the place for you.
The cottage is located in a cute cottage community that is great for taking walks down to the piers, riding bikes on the path across the street, using the boat launch, renting jet skis and bikes at the marina and enjoying a waterfront lunch down the road.
  • Christine's cottage is super cute and a great space for a group. There's a fenced in yard that would be ideal for kids during the warmer months. Christine was very responsive and made sure we got settled in okay on our first night. Also of note, we were unable to walk to the red lighthouse since the area is now privatized. I believe it is just in the off season that you can't pass through so definitely find out for sure when you're there!

    Ashley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christine’s house was the perfect location for our family weekend!

    Catherine2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • A very charming cottage that fit our whole crew of 6 adults and 5 small children. Christine was a lovely host that very responses. The house was also filled with lots of thoughtful cooking amenities. The place is close to the water, though as far as we could tell, you don't really have access to water activities (beaches, etc.). There also aren't many food options around- the drive to downtown holland was around 10-15 minutes. The house is old (definitely part of the charm!) and very creaky, which wouldn't be a big deal at all if we didn't have so many small kiddos that wake easily at night at the slightest noise. We'd definitely stay again if we visit without our children :)

    Sasha2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christines place is spacious and clean- the two bathrooms were clean and had good shower pressure. Christine was quick to respond and gracious as a host.

  • Great place to stay.

    Jenny2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • My family of 5 (including 3 little ones) had a great stay at Old Scotch Cottage! The house is beautiful and had plenty of space for everyone, and the bunk bed room was perfect for the kids. It's a quick drive to get to all of the restaurants (and breweries!) in downtown Holland. We would definitely stay here again.

    Amy2019-06-12T00:00:00Z

Holland is a Pure Michigan delight... Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, you will love the activities, the community, and the lifestyle that makes Holland a favorite Michigan destination. From the award-winning downtown to the white sandy beaches, you'll fall in love with Holland's small-town charm and big-city amenities. Dine along the waterfront or at a local café. Hike to the top of a sand dune or climb to the top of a windmill! Shop for a paddleboard, or a pair of wooden shoes. Visit neighborhood art fairs, enjoy a theatre performance, stroll the downtown sidewalks, or tour a modern college campus. Sail the waters of Lake Michigan or hike the trails in one of our wooded parks. Watch a brilliant sunset over Lake Michigan. And last but not least, Holland is also home to the world-famous Tulip Time Festival in May each year. No matter what your interests, you won't be disappointed!
  • We had a great overnight stay during Holland's Tulip Time Festival. The house is beautiful - it is historic with beautiful wood carving touches, yet it is also very updated and spacious. We were a group of 5 people (we asked ahead of time if 5 would be permitted) and the home definitely was spacious enough for all of us with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, large kitchen, living room and dining room. It was a perfect location for the Tulip Time Run (one block away). It was also very close to downtown, however we did choose to drive down there (not sure how long a walk it would be). We really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note to the owner - please get a hairdryer for guests. It is such a simple and inexpensive item that would help guests a lot.

  • Really amazing place to stay at. The renovations are amazing and the place is much larger than expected. Huge fully stocked kitchen, large dining area, and stylish living room. Washer and dryer is the icing on the cake!!

  • This home is well appointed and cozy. Everything we needed for our stay was there for us. We cooked several family meals and enjoyed ourselves at AC’s home. Plenty of towels and extra linens, smart tv w Netflix. Great place to stay in Holland.

  • AC's place was adorable! I loved staying there.

    Sam2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Wonderful house in a great area. Felt like you where at home. Easy deadbolt combo lock to enter and exit. Close to downtown and the water. WiFi was great through out the house. We had 3 people streaming at once with no problem. The only bad thing I can’t pick out of all the wonderful one would have to be the plumbing. Had to flush a few times on both toilets. It was giving us trouble all week. I would definitely come again. Thank you! Great house

    Jacob2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really charming, located near downtown Holland and an easy walk to Lake Macatawa and Boatwerks Restaurant. The home has many of the original 1901 woodworking touches, but with a brand new kitchen and 2 bathrooms with beautiful details. The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of linens. Due to the chilly weather, we weren't able to enjoy the cute patio and nice backyard. Super-clean, you will enjoy your stay at Ac's place!

This is the unscented basement level of our house (12 steps down). You will have your own spacious living/dining area. There is a separate bedroom with a locked door and a legal egress window. It has a queen bed, a twin bed. The ceilings are low (just shy of 7 feet), so if you are tall you may be uncomfortable. Scents cause my asthma to flair up, so we strive to keep our home unscented, so no spraying of perfume, body sprays, etc. Obviously, no candles or room fresheners.
Our house is a 2 minute drive (or an easy 10 minute walk) to Tunnel Park and Lake Michigan. We are a 5 minute drive to Holland State Park and 14 minutes to Downtown Holland. There are several excellent restaurants 5-10 minutes from our home. Saugatuck and Grand Haven are about 25 minutes away. We live in the upper level were there is also another guest bedroom.
Our neighborhood is walkable with plenty of flora and fauna. Many opportunities for cycling.

  • The defining variable why I booked this air bnb was to try the shower and it was so worth it! Really upped my shower game. The room itself is also very nice, with touches of luxury- and there’s a great pizza shop across the street! The hosts were very communicative, which ease any confusion there is to be had at a new air bnb. They were awesome!

    Raedene2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Eric was a great host! It’s in a neat spot in Douglas just across the bridge from Saugatuck. We were a block away from some great places and the nearby pizza place was perfect for a late night snack! They also had great recommendations on things to do in the area as well. The space was small and stylish and much better than any hotel you could book. We definitely will stay again next time we are in town!

    Mandi2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This space was perfect for what we needed. The design of the room was absolutely stunning. It was also a quick drive over the bridge to Saugatuck and not too far from Holland. Also, the complimentary robes were a nice comfy touch. If you’re doing a short trip with one or two people, this is a perfect size and location. One recommendation I would have would be a microwave to accommodate for the lack of kitchen, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again.

    Lauren2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, cute, and totally affordable! The shower is an extra bonus too!

The Branch is a bright and airy, independent space that is attached to our main place - The Bird House. It features a serene bedroom with queen size bed, a private living room with two pull out queen size sleeper sofas, an office that can accommodate an air mattress, a gorgeous bathroom and kitchenette. It was newly constructed in 2016.
About 600 square feet of private area and lovely shared sun room. Ample parking.
The Branch is located just down the road from MBYC and Eldean's Shipyard as well as 1/4 mile from historic Macatawa Park (the northernmost point of the longest stretch of private beach in Michigan (on Lake Michigan)). Sanctuary Woods Park is steps away with lovely wooded dune walks. It's a 10 minute drive into downtown Holland or Saugatuck. There is a great bikepath that borders the property for easy access. Less than 1 mile from Castle Park.
  • This location is great! Within 10 minutes of downtown holland, beautiful clean space and very modern and stylish. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

    Brooke2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely clean, great space!!

  • The Branch was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay! Holland, MI is such a fun city and being able to stay at The Branch completed a wonderful weekend for us.

    Sue2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, clean space! We appreciated the well-equipped efficiency kitchen, and being so close to Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan. We would definitely book here again.

    Lindsay2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. We would defiantly love to return.

    Jodi2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place to stay to enjoy all that Holland has to offer - walkable to the beach and hiking, and a super quick drive to downtown. Her welcome packet of suggestions was amazingly helpful, and the access to the private beach that comes with staying here cannot be matched. Every room is filled with thoughtful touches, and the place is very spacious and well decorated (much more so than the pictures would suggest, we were pleasantly surprised!). We comfortably slept two people in the bed, but with pullout couches and other options you could easily stay here with ~6 people. The only thing to note is that the fridge is a mini-fridge, so while the kitchen is great, if you plan to do a bunch of grocery shopping and cooking, this would not be a good setup for you. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope to be back again someday soon.

  • Cute and clean. A great house for our girls’ weekend. Plenty of beds for everyone. Within driving distance of everywhere we wanted to go. We had an issue with the TV since there were 3 remotes and no directions, but we messaged Sara and she got back to us relatively quickly.

  • We had a great stay overall but did bring a few concerns with noise and comfort to the host to help them improve the experience of future guest.

  • This is the second time I've stayed at John's place - so that should give you an idea of what I think about it. He's a great host and the property is gorgeous. I could not recommend this experience more strongly.

    David2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • John was a wonderful host who made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The house and grounds were lovely and we were unexpectedly treated to home-made scones, coffee and engaging conversation. very good value for our money and we'd go back in a heartbeat!

    Rae2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The amenities are comfortable, clean, and updated at John’s peaceful cabin. John was an excellent host, he made sure we had everything we needed and had lots of suggestions about the area. The fresh scones and apple cake were added bonuses! Would definitely stay again.

    Holly2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is just fantastic. Really. Flawless. I can't wait to return.

  • My partner and I had a wonderful weekend getaway at John's gorgeous cabin. John welcomed us on Friday evening with a glass of wine and provided great suggestions for exploring the area. It was perfect for out weekend retreat into the Michigan woods. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Kristin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful, clean and in a peaceful setting. John was always accessible and prompt in communicating. My favorite part of the day was good coffee, great scones that were made from scratch and fresh baked, and the time spent visiting with John and Marvin. The location offers quiet in a country setting, but it's not far from Saugatuck. On my drives to town I spotted turkey and a pheasant. I hope to stay with John again in the future and would highly recommend his home to others.

    Diana2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • John's home is so beautiful, the space is very nice and modern set right in the woods, I loved it here and didn't want to leave. I would reccomend staying here a millions times.

The location was very clean and there were detailed instructions on how to use the TVs, access the wifi, and switch on all the various lights in the condo. Check-out instructions were clear and required minimal work on the part of the guests. Would stay here again.

  • Eric, we so enjoyed your place. I think your "makeup" towels are especially brilliant! Lots of other thoughtful touches throughout, like wall hooks. ( I'm amazed that most hosts forego convenient little wall hooks.) The neighborhood is quiet and a quick drive to Saugatuck. Eric is organized, professional and personable. He made it easy to book, easy to check in and was readily available for communication. And like others have said, there are not a bunch of rules to follow at his place...just some common courtesy requested. Overall, a great stay!

  • Enjoyed our stay in this cozy place while we were visiting family nearby. It worked out very well for us. Although we used it just as a place to sleep, we took note of the convenient touches including coffee & tea, snacks, microwave and small fridge. Marie-Claude was very responsive and our stay went smoothly.

  • The space is super cozy and it has great little details like a heat feature in the bathroom and private entrance with a second entrance that's let's out right onto the beautiful woodland property.

This vintage beach cottage is located in the sand dune hills of Historic Ottawa Beach resort area. Biking trails, sidewalks and board walks surround this cottage giving you access to Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. Everything you need is provided at this 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage including a little glimpse back in time.
This cottage is off of the main road and tucked up in the dunes of Historic Ottawa Beach. This late 1800’s cottage has been refurbished without losing it’s historic appeal but having all the modern amenities that one would need for a comfortable stay. Sit on the porch with your coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night and enjoy the lake breeze. Stroll down the boardwalk to Lake Michigan or walk down the road to the General Store or Lake Macatawa. With 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and lots of history, this cottage will make for many family memories .
The Window in Time Cottage is located in the Ottawa historic district which originally included a large hotel which unfortunately burned down in the early nineteen hundreds. The property is centrally located within walking distance to Holland State Park, Lake Michigan, Lake Macatawa and the Mt Pisgah dune climb.
  • Beautiful home and full of character and homey touches. We would stay again. Harriet was excellent with communication. My whole family (8 of us with 2 kids) loved it here. There was a dishwasher and washer/dryer that made life a little easier. All the supplies we needed in the kitchen were there. What an amazing location. Within walking distance to Lake Michigan and Holland State Park. We stayed in November. The downstairs can feel a bit drafty (this is understandable in older home--we turned the heat up for the kids, but you could bring warm clothes too). It is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the house, something to keep in mind if you have a disability. A truly special place.

    Abby2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet's cottage is perfect for families to share. Very comfortable and lots of areas to spread out yet cozy and intimate. We loved being so close to the state park. Easy walking with sidewalks and beautiful views.

    Amy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't actually end up staying here because there was a snowstorm and Harriet messaged to say that the driveway hadn't been plowed, so she put us in another property she manages nearby that had a garage. The place we stayed was lovely--cozy, spectacular view of the lake, and we very much appreciated Harriet's proactive communication and generosity!

    Lauren2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Harriets Cottage! This place was so adorable and we really enjoyed how cozy it was! Lots of sleeping arrangements and very spacious. We all talked about renting again in the summer months when it’s warmer to take advantage of how close it is to the beach! We will definitely be back! Thanks for having everything we could possibly need!

  • A very cute cottage which was incredibly close to the Lake. Would definitely recommend

    Praneet2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Just about anything you need is right there. Full stocked kitchen if you're a cook. Just bring your groceries in. Bedrooms are clean. Bathrooms are stocked. There is information at hand for things to do in the area. We would stay here again.

    Janice2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great and the location is perfect! I wish I had a screened in porch like this, it was absolutely lovely :) We came in the off season, but this area is probably super happening in the summer. It's close to the Tunnel Park, the lighthouse and the hike up to Mt. Pisgah.

    Stacy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a lovely and relaxing place to put up your feet and take in the sights and sounds of this "almost" lakefront property. You can expect to see white-tail deer mulling about the outside of the cottage, while sipping on coffee! We experienced a thunderstorm while we were there and it was simply breathtaking to take it all in on the screened-in porch. You can expect clear instructions and easy to understand parking and check-in procedures. Everything was splendid, what a great cottage and experience!

There is a dining area, living room, full kitchen. There are 2 bathrooms with showers. One bathroom is located in the basement along with a washer and dryer.
The cottage is located in between Holland and Grand Haven. Holland State Park and Grand Haven State Parks have beautiful beaches!
  • We were very pleased when we arrived and checked in. The photos don't do this place justice! Everything was clean and there were even fresh flowers on the table :) The view is beautiful and there are plenty of seating options for however you like best to enjoy it.

    Marie2020-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a weekend and really enjoyed it. The location was great. The lake is literally your backyard! It was cold outside but we spent every second we could in the backyard to take in the view. Most of the back wall is glass so you have a view of the lake all the time. Check in was smooth and we were provided with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

    Amanda2020-04-13T00:00:00Z

  • I was overwhelmed by Lisa's place. It was everything she described and more!!!! My friends and I were very welcomed and extremely comfortable in her house. I am hoping that I have more events so I have the chance to stay at Lisa's house again!

    Jessica2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect fit for us. Great games, movies, hot tub and easy check-in. Lisa was kind and helpful. She even let us check out late because she didn’t have another guest coming.

    Natalie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host! She gave us a tour of the place and showed us how to use everything. Everything was clean and comfortable.

    Ashley2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa’s space is amazing. We stayed there because my son had a wrestling tournament at West Ottawa and we didn’t want to leave the dog home alone. When we first got there, she had a note on the door welcoming me, my sons and my dog. Not only did she allow pets, she offered to let him out for us while we were gone. There was a huge choice of board games as well as a stack of DVD movies for when you’re stuck inside. She gave me a garage door opener and told me that I was welcome to park in her garage. I wasn’t here to sight see as I only live about 45 min north but had I, she would have had it covered. She had all kinds of brochures and information on what’s going on around town. On the table she had a map of Holland so you know where to go. She also drives for Uber so if you need a DD she’s there for you. Oh, and did I mention she had home made cookies on the counter for us? A+

    Samantha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This home is exceptional. Beautiful home! Very very clean! Lisa is a gracious, very friendly wonderful host that goes out of her way to make sure your stay is comfortable! Pet friendly which is super. I highly recommend staying at this lovely home!

  • Lisa is an outstanding Host. Communication is super efficient. She's super thoughtful and it is reflected all around her place. We loved the jacuzzi and the Grill. Lisa made sure we had everything to enjoy those 2 amenities. Her place is spotless and she honestly provides anything that you might need to have a great stay, from towels, board games and coffee to an electric/gas grill. Also, she has a beautiful garden. Lisa gave us a couple of her fresh vegetables that we used in our BBQ. Overall we're fully pleased. There's nothing I can think of that I didn't like about Lisa's place.

  • Deb and Gary's place is our favorite Airbnb so far, and they have all been great in their own ways. Their home is ABSOLUTELY LOVELY, and they are the kindest, most peacefully present people you will ever have the honor of meeting. I shouldn't be telling you this, as now I'll never be able to get back in once you all start booking your stays, but truly, save some for the rest of us as we ALL need some goodness in our lives. :)

    Belinda2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Gary were amazing hosts. Its a cute place by the lake and we enjoyed the conversations a lot. Would definitely love to go back and stay with them if we are around Holland.

    Meera2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations are immaculate! I felt warmly welcomed by Deb. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. I would definitely return.

  • This is the perfect place to get away! The house is beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and so inviting. You won’t find nicer hosts anywhere!

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Gary were such gracious hosts. Their guest suite, guest bath and sitting room that is offered to guests, is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. Very comfortable. And if you’re lucky enough to be around the home for conversation, the rest of their home is just as charming. Access to the kitchen for morning coffee and tasty continental breakfast offerings, was a wonderful start to our morning. Deb offered recommendations on local restaurants and a cross country ski area, which both turned out to be excellent choices for us. We were so happy we chose their home for our get away. We 100% recommend to other quests.

    Angela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Superb. Spotless, easy check-in, beautiful, comfortable home. Deb was a wonderful hostess. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our conversations with Deb and her sister. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The quaint village of Macatawa is the perfect cottage setting with a hint of European vibe and absolutely unpretentious. Morning walks through the neighborhood is a favorite, especially with coffee in hand. The kids will love the tranquil sands and rolling waves. This is a gated community owned primarily by families with cottages passed on through generations.
  • This was a perfect house for a retreat! Owners are very professional and communicative. Parking is limited; so ask the owners in advance where the on-street spots are, ask if any extra spots might be available nearby during your stay if you’d need them, and specify if you want to use the garage. One or two cars could fit in the garage, and up to four cars can fit in the driveway. If you are able to get the neighborhood gate code from the owners, it may be helpful to drive by the house in advance of your stay to get a feel for where the on-street parking spots are. The neighborhood is built on a dune, and the road is one lane most of the time with steep hills and little extra space around each home. It’s a really unique neighborhood, though — rarely would you get to be in a wooded setting like this with Lake Michigan within walking distance!

    Erika2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay. The space was really nicely decorated, super spacious, clean, and was full of activities to do at the house. There's a bunk bed area which has so much room and it was one of the coolest rooms I've seen. We had a few questions and the host responded to us very quickly. I would love to stay here again!

    Harkiran2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful and very close to Lake Michigan.

    Molly2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful home and perfect for families. So many spaces indoors and out to be together— or be apart! The bunk room is spectacular- a dream space for lots of siblings, cousins, or friends. Very well equipped kitchen, too!

    Nancy2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment you walk in the front door, you feel at ease, peaceful, and ready to relax. The decor and intricately placed details are what make this place great. The main floor is such an open floor plan and perfect for socializing and eating. Our kids loved the basement space where they could be loud and rambunctious without disturbing adults. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms where nice, and overall couldn’t have asked for a better spot to host another yearly memory. The location and access to the private beach is something that you need to account when considering the value of this rental. Instead of fighting for parking and who knows how many others, you have access to a private strip of beach that extends all the way to the lighthouse. Can’t beat it. Overall, we loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

    Titus2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our first trip to Michigan was a very pleasant experience, thanks to a beautiful area and home with all the amenities for a great family vacation. With the family ( 11 of us) new to the area, Jessica and Robert provided information on restaurants, fun activities, shopping and more. Location was key, with easy access to the private beach, sunsets, Big Red lighthouse, use of the golf cart, and paddleboards. The home was family friendly and well equipped. We had a lovely stay, and special thanks to Adam who was most helpful from beginning to end, even bringing in a requested pak n play for the youngest grandchild. Thank you again, Norine Marcinkiewicz

    Norine2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place close to both Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. The house came with everything you needed for the beach and for a week of family fun. The bunk room was a treat for the handful of kids in our group and gave them their own space. Having access to the golf cart made it very convenient to explore the area.

    Aundrey2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Can not say enough good about this home, it was just as beautiful as the photos shown....but what you can’t see In the photos are all of the added touches that the host of this home provides. We literally did not need to bring a thing for the beach.....beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, paddle boards, even a small blow up canoe were provided! The basement living space was perfect for the kiddos and there were several board games throughout the home to keep them occupied. The gated community was adorable and a perfect location for our group....we loved using the fully stocked kitchen and the grill to cook meals for our children and enjoy the beautiful dining room and outdoor furniture in this home. The golf cart provided was so amazing and such a great touch...we loved driving down to the private cabin beach by the lighthouse....the beach was amazing and our kids wanted to spend most of the time there. Thank you again for the time put into designing these spaces and making this such a lovely haven to gather at! We will be back!

Located in downtown Holland, in view of the Tulip parade, this adorable 2 bed home is 1 1/2 blocks from main street where life bustles with outstanding shops and pubs. We have given it a gorgeous 21st Century overhall. A block away from a lakeside beautiful park and Boatwerks Restaurant with waterside seating, this location offers quick access to business and boating. Come enjoy a peaceful stay.
This is an original 1899 Carriage House that we have updated from top to bottom, inside and out. The pictures are current while google maps may still have the old view of its exterior. A queen master upstairs, queen pullout couch, double bed and an inflatable tall twin on main floor can house folks looking to rest easy in a perfect location close to town. Fenced in backyard has a shed with 4 bikes, 2 adult, 2 childrens, yard games and a patio with table and chairs. We are located downtown, near the water so expect the sounds of boats and all things business while letting the view of the water soothe away any stress. Sometimes you can watch cargo ships unload at the nearby gravel yard. This is a strict no pets, no smoking, no bonfire property.
We are located in the Historic District with a view of Lake Macatawa out your front door, Kollen park 1 block to the West and a fantastic Waterfront restaurant called Boatworks 500 feet from our place. A quick 2 block walk to Holland's Civic Center where events happen every weekend and Wed/Sat the Farmer's Market is held. The famous Cappon and Settler's House are the next block over. Windmill Island Entrance is a mile at the end of the shopping district and the Holland Museum, Library, and Sperry's dining Theater, within blocks from our home.
  • Historic, yet modernized cottage style home just off the lake and close to downtown Holland. Perfect spot to escape the city with all the necessities. Would definitely recommend for couples, friends, or a small family trip. We will try to come back in summer!

  • This home is really nice and the setting is beautiful. The accommodations are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were so friendly and hospitable! I enjoyed visiting downtown Holland and having many good restaurants to choose from right close by. It was super convenient to drive down the road to see Lake Michigan. I would love to come back to experience the pool this spring or summer! Loved everything about it!
