Your host bought a part of this magical old growth woods on a limestone ridge, that fronts on the salmon river, in 1980. Since then from the west the suburbs have moved in and the dirt road is now a paved and busy one, but the sanctuary remains undisturbed. You may walk to the river through field and woods in total privacy. It is a 10 min. drive to Napanee to shop or a 30 min. drive to Picton if you choose fine dining.
  • Maureen's place is not your typical B&B experience in Ontario - the yurt was spacious, clean, and well-equipped in the woods. If you are looking for a unique experience in Ontario, then give Maureen's place a try! It was a bit hot because we went during the hottest weekend of the year, but at night the yurt cooled down and Maureen did everything to make sure we were comfortable. The location was good - just right off the highway, but still remote enough for those who are looking for a getaway. Thanks Maureen and the fairies!

  • Maureen is very nice and the hurt is great ! Very nice experience, would do it again.

  • We wish to thank Maureen for being such an inspiring host during our brief stay, and for sharing her breathtakingly authentic home with us. The historical and spiritual significance of all she has done with her little slice of earth is truly humbling, and motivating.

    Natasha2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for a romantic getaway, spiritual retreat and body and mind rejuvenation. There is so much love and care put to every detail in the yurt. Maureen is a especial kind and loving host. The Yurt is bigger than what it looks in the pictures. It's very warm and cozy. The nature around is beautiful with a powerful river nearby and many options for outdoor activities. If you're looking for a unique experience in a clear positive space, this yurt is the best option. Namaste

  • My partner and I had a great first yurt experience here. Perfect place if you’re looking for a simple yet serene experience away from the hustle and bustle. Nicely decorated, and even in the coldest winter weather, it gets quite toasty! Although some are included, bring as many candles as you can, seriously, this place magically transforms at night. Very nice host, accommodating, kind, and pleasant to deal with. Thanks again Maureen! :)

    Richard2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute amazing place to stay. The yurt is so peaceful, spacious, and comfortable. I’ve never experience anything like this. Property is amazing, waterfall is amazing, Maureen’s artwork is amazing, truly a magical place. Stove kept us super warm and the coffee in the morning was such a sweet gesture! Such a great host with awesome hospitality. What an experience

    Brooke2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic space to genuinely experience nature and ground yourself. Maureen is a very thoughtful host who has put an immense amount of work into the yurt and its surroundings. The yurt itself is comfortable and situated in a private bit of woods that offer serenity and stillness, under an amazingly star lit sky. Everything we needed, and then some, had been supplied. We had a great stay and can't wait to go back

    Michael2018-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This yurt tucked into the mystical magic of an old wood forest that is energetically charged with power, movement and beauty! It is simple yet a very refined experience, of camping! If the weather is good, as ours was the fire is the most perfect reset to a day exploring the waterfalls, creek and river nearby. Maureen shared all the necessities needed for the yurt, everything was easy and comfortable! Thank you again, we will most definitely be back to this yurt and to connect with Maureen again!

We are on an island between 2 waterfalls, 10 min to Prince Edward County, 30 min to Kingston and 20 min to Belleville. Truly Paradise!
"'ALL RATES INCLUDE HST." Our circa 1832 stone mill is uniquely situated on an island in the Salmon River between two one lane bridges and two waterfalls just 6 minutes from the 401 in the tiny picturesque hamlet of Lonsdale, the subject of many artists and photographers. We are only a 10 minute drive to the County and a 30 minute drive to Picton. EACH YEAR WE OFFER A POPULAR SPECIAL FALL/WINTER GETAWAY SPECIAL . BOOK ANY TWO NIGHTS AT OUR REGULAR RATES AND YOU CAN STAY THE THIRD NIGHT ABSOLUTELY FREE! BOOK FOUR NIGHTS AND STAY TWO NIGHTS FREE! Special applies to stays from NOV.1 - APR. 30. During the fall and winter months enjoy the outdoor all season hot tub by the river and waterfall. There are several nearby cross country ski/snowshoe locations and walking trails, first class performances at Belleville's Empire and Kingston's Grand Theatre and many other seasonal attractions in our area during the cooler months. Check out each area's websites for more details. The mill is accessed by a one lane bridge on and off the island. YOUR PRIVATE SUITE is a lovely, 575 sq. foot open concept suite on the second floor of our home, a converted circa 1832 flour/grist mill. My husband and I also reside here, however, the building is very much like an Inn and The Country Suite on the 2nd floor is completely private. The stairs leading to the second floor are the original mill stairs and therefore, are a little steeper than normal stairs. It is a large 4 storey building with the main entrance to the mill being shared with us. You have open access to come and go as you wish. There is plenty of room outside under a covered pergola by the river for dining, or other seating around the garden, by the waterfalls and on the front porch as well. Hot tub, boats and bicycles are all included in your stay free of charge. The suite has a self catering kitchenette. We do not provide meals, however, a selection of teas, coffee, cream and milk for beverages, sugar, spices, cooking oil and honey are all provided in your suite and we are happy to help with any other little necessities. There is a living area with a flat screen t.v., electric fireplace, dining area and private bathroom, and bedroom area. The bed is a comfy queen size with a Tempurpedic memory foam mattress and top quality bedding. We provide all towels, toiletries and linens. We encourage you to bring your own food and prepare light meals in your private kitchenette as the closest restaurant is 6 km away and there are no stores in the immediate area. You may also use the outdoor bbq. There are lots of dining options in Napanee, Picton and Belleville and Kingston. Napanee is 15 minutes east and the other towns are 20-30 min.
Enjoying nature is the main occupation here. Sitting under a willow tree beside the waterfalls or paddling up the river can really eat up a day. The river is part of an historic canoe route and many enthusiasts brave the rapids in May. The river quietens come June for relaxing paddles. It is the river that gives this place it's magical vibe and brings the wildlife for our pleasure. Great Blue Herons, Eagles, Otters, Beavers, Muskrats, Geese, Ducks, Swans, Turtles, song birds and many others are all happy to call Lonsdale home. You never know who is going to drop by next. The grounds are full of flowers and birds and the sound of the waterfalls makes this an idealic spot to just kick back and enjoy. Prince Edward County and the surrounding area is a lovely place to visit all year long. Make lasting memories with country drives, walks or bicycle trips and canoeing or kayaking on the river for as long as the weather stays fine. The county also offers many fine restaurants, shopping, beaches, and a wide variety of attractions. Great places to cross country ski at nearby recreation areas in the winter months. Nearby Menzel Nature Preserve is 10 minutes away for a hike, Vanderwater Park is 30 minutes away and Frontenac Park, one hour's drive is a huge park with many and varied hiking trails for the enthusiast. Our pass provides you with free entrance.
  • We've just returned from a most wonderful stay at the Lonsdale Mill which was utterly charming, welcoming and even more than we could have dreamed. The mill has been beautifully restored by Suzie and Jerry and we are immensely grateful that they would choose to share such a special experience with others. The house was immaculate, the grounds beautiful, our room was comfortable and very well equipped with every detail thought of ahead of time. It really is on a tiny island in the middle of a river and the sound of the falls is mesmerizing. We enjoyed the hot tub each night as well as our interactions with the lovely hosts. It was a perfect setting for a peaceful getaway with easy access to Prince Edward County and we would highly recommend this very special home to anyone. We can't wait to experience it again in different seasons - all of which offer something unique.

    Marg2016-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Were do I begin, the hosts were the best hosts that we have encountered on Airb&b and the self contained room was a delight to stay in I could go on about the fantastic location, the room, the use of the hot tub, etc,etc..... but it has all been said before I'm sure. Needless to say if Rita and myself ever come back to this neck of the woods again you can be damn sure that this is where we will stay again! Glenn and Rita

    Glenn2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time -- try the canoe at sunset!! Cheers Jeff

    Jeff2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing experience! This beautiful space offers a comfortable stay with many extra special touches! It is clean, comfortable and a great value. We enjoyed drinking coffee outside looking at the pretty flowers and manicured gardens in addition to the wildlife and listening to the water run in the river. The place is located within a short drive to many small and big towns, parks and cruises but you also have kayaking, swimming and a hot tub right there. I cannot say enough about how extra special the hosts made our stay. We will defiantly return.

    Melanie2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent two wonderful nights Oct 13 and 14 at the BEST BnB experience we have ever had. From the start Suzie and Jerry made us feel completely at home encouraging us to use the hot tub, BBQ and outdoor fire pit. A choice of two kayaks, a canoe and paddle boat were available so we could enjoy the salmon river and the abundance of wildlife. This mill is located in a very unique and beautiful hamlet of Lonsdale , a short 5 min drive from hwy 401 and a 20-25 minute drive from Napanee, Belleville and Picton, Ontario. The private room itself was beautifully appointed and lacks nothing. This is definitely an experience we would like to repeat in the near future. Many thanks to Suzie and Jerry for sharing their beautiful home.. Perfect host/hostess!!

    Tj2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie's place is a beautiful spot for a relaxing getaway.

    Kara2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie's suite was well beyond our expectations. Her hospitality and the entire place was fantastic. Probably the most beautiful place we've ever stayed at.

    Diana2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • After coming here last year, of course I had to return. Although my trip didn't go as planned due to personal issues, Suzie and Jerry made me feel like part of their family. I can't wait to return in the future, and spend more quiet time. The river was quite low this year, but that didn't change how beautiful it was. As always the room was immaculate, and more warming than any other place I could imagine staying. Thanks again for all the hospitality and I hope to see you next year! (Or even sooner)

  • It was a perfect place for our girls reunion! Randy and Leanne were quick to respond to any questions and the cottage was spotless! Beautiful view of the lake too!

    Sheena2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was extremely clean and had a wonderful view with 180 degrees of waterfront. Randy and Leanne were very hospitable and quick to reply. We came in to a welcome sign and a basket of snacks for our stay. Enjoyed our stay very much.

    Grant2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is definitely cosy! We spent one night there as a girls night out. The beds were amazing, the space was lovely. So much seating and eating space. The hosts are quick to communicate and even live close by, they ran down a cutting board when we noticed we didn’t have one. So many special touches! Nice artwork, some board games and books, even a stocked tea box. I Can’t wait to come back, and would love to bring my family.

    Laura2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, right on the water. House was clean and tidy when we got there. Had no issues with the self check-in. We were a group of 4 but the place could easily sleep 6+ and looked family friendly. We were only there for one night unfortunately but would love to go back for an extended stay.

    Peter2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was gorgeous outside, with huge green space looking out onto the water with a few different spots to hang out and enjoy. The inside was really clean, spacious and comfortable, with some great setups to sit and take in the scenery. Everything went well and we'd happily stay here again.

    Brian2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and relaxing place on the Bay of Quinte. Should we be in the area again, we would definitely stay here again if it is available.

    Laura2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Leanne and Randy were fantastic hosts. Their house is so clean, beautiful and very spacious. When we got there ,we found a basket with delicious treats that the Children devoured. The house met every single expectation. Well equipped with everything you need, bedding , towels, cutlery, pots.. literally everything you need. Amazing view from the lake and extremely flexible with our check-in and check out times . I would come back for sure . My only tip is regarding site seeing. If you plan to visit SandBanks which is close by you should leave early before 10am since it is a very popular place and on long weekends they have a maximum amount of people allowed in a the park. I had a wonderful time in this cottage I recommend it.

Welcome to The Church! Located less than 10 minutes from the 401, 20 minutes from Picton, and 45 minutes from Sandbanks Provincial Park. Public boat launch just a few kms down the road. Your space is the entire living space within The Church. (There is a large addition in the back that is unfinished... Check back in a few years, but for now it’s not part of the living space).
The Church was built in 1863, and was converted into a home in the 80’s. It’s definitely a unique space with lots of character!
The Church is very close to a public boat launch just a few kilometres down the road. (4 minutes to North Port). The Church is also close to: Hwy 401 - 7 minutes if you catch the green light on the reserve Picton - 20 minutes Sandbanks - 40 minutes or so. Summer long weekends definitely longer Belleville - 30 minutes to the mall, cinemas, etc via 401 Wellington - 30 minutes or so via Demorestville
  • Craig was a great host, very friendly and always responded quickly when I emailed him. This place was really cute and we will definitely be back!

    April2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Craig’s church was a comfortable and cozy retreat as I traveled around Lake Ontario. The place is SO unique and a great location in “The County”. Just a warning... you will never again be satisfied with your own bathroom after staying here! His shower, bath, and spacious room were luxurious. The beds were comfy (even the pull out!) and we can’t wait to visit again some day.

    Lara2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay overall. Pictures are very accurate — would definitely recommend

    Wendy2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique and cool space. Craig was a very courteous host. Look forward to coming back! Thanks again!

    Craig2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Craig's place for a quiet and relaxing weekend. This home is a rustic historic church building with lots of character and modern touches. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace, piano, and country atmosphere. It is easily accessible near the 401, and is close to many lovely wineries, restaurants, and conservation areas. Craig is very accommodating, and had several suggestions on how to make the most of our weekend away. We are honored to have Been his first Airbnb guests and would love to visit this home again in the future.

    Milad2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fun and comfortable place to stay. It is a cleverly and smartly renovated church. Craig was a responsive host, and there is always a lot to enjoy in PE County.

    Nicole2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the church; it was a great space and perfectly suited our needs. It was wonderful to hear the chorus of crickets outside, and to have a comfy cozy home base while we were exploring PEC. The church had everything we needed, as well as an extra lush bathroom which was the cherry on top. Craig made everything easy, and was very communicative! We appreciated all the tips left for us on what to see and do while we were in the area. The only small thing I would note it that there is no AC so it gets warm in the loft overnight, which we hadn’t thought of when booking. Mireille

    Mireille2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Church. Our 2 night stay was too short -- we will definitely be going back. Our favourite thing about this space was the washroom and how spa-like it was. This space had lots of great amenities and beautiful, functional furniture. We had no issues checking in. Craig left very clear instructions and they were easy to follow.

  • The cosiest little cabin adorned with the coolest nicknacks. The friendliest and most helpful, most accommodating people you could ask for. The backyard is amazing. Felt like home and was hard to leave.

    Sarah2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly and David's place was wonderful. We really enjoyed this peaceful place. It was very beautiful and very clean and we will recommend this place to all our friends.

  • A++ - Great hosts, great place, great location! our expectations were high (based on the awesome reviews) and they were exceeded in every way! We would recommend this experience to everyone and will definitely be back! Thanks for everything! :-)

    Chris2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberly and David were energetic, welcoming, and extra accommodating ... especially since we arrived a day early by accident! It didn't phase them for more than a second, because they knew just what to do to pull the place together in time so we had a place to stay after all. Whew! The place was full of so much character and the grounds were a joy to spend time in.

    Maria2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a little oasis, a beautiful place.

    Melissa2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 9 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Jason2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! Kimberly was amazing to deal with! The atmosphere when we arrived late on a Friday night was very calming and much appreciated after a long few weeks at work. Lights dimmed and gentle music playing (which turned out to be David’s music). The decor in this place is amazing and we loved exploring all of the unique art pieces. The hot tub was great, bed was very comfortable and the Tipi was very cool. The chimenea was a nice touch on the deck and the sunsets were incredible. What a great place to unwind and relax! We will definitely be back! If you rent, be sure to check out David’s music. We purchased 3 CDs and listened to them on the way home and are listening to one right now as I write this review :)

  • Our stay was amazing. Maren responded to every question we had. The space is amazing. Everyone had their own bedrooms with room to spare. When we arrived everything was very clean. We used the pass to visit the beach. The lake is a short walk and the dock is great for fishing or just relaxing. The children enjoyed fishing, fire pit, games and playing outdoors. Everything was simply amazing. We cannot wait to visit again very soon!

  • We had a great stay at Maren’s place. We were a group of friends spending the weekend in the area for a wine tour and a bachelorette. The house had plenty of room for all of us and beautiful views.

  • This is a great location in Prince Edward County. The house is clean and has lots of space for hanging out. There is a DVD player and VCR as well as pool/air hockey. The view is amazing and the dock is a great spot if you want to bring a canoe. Lost of space in the yard for sports and great spot for campfires. For younger kids, there’s a nice playground five minutes away in Deseronto, and a bigger one with a splash pad/skate park 15 minutes away in Picton. The wineries in the area are fun to explore and Sandbanks beach is great! Maren was a great host and answered all our questions quickly and helpfully. Great relaxing getaway!

  • Fabulous relaxing, private place to stay with stunning sunset views. Incredibly well equipped from teh kitchen to teh games downstairs. Plenty of space both inside and out. dining on the deck was great, as was swimming and fishing off the dock. We really appreciated the extra touches, coffee, soaps, fluffy towels, games etc. Excellent communication. Highly recommend it, we really loved it all - thank you!

  • Very nice neighbourhood and very cozy place to stay. Will definitely go and stay again sometime and recommend it.

  • My family of five stayed here for 1 night. Only 20 minutes from Picton, 40 minutes from Sandbanks & just off the highway. It suited our needs perfectly & was very well equipped. The cottage was spotlessly clean & bigger than expected. It is close to the water which was a nice surprise. There is another cottage right next door (which we didn't mind) so not much privacy if that is what you're looking for. We would definitely return if in the area again. Thank you, Pat, for welcoming us to your cottage & ensuring we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Kayaks, a canoe, peddle boat and touring bicycles are all available free of charge to our guests from mid May until Thanksgiving and a riverside hot tub under the stars is available year round. With waterfront on three sides, you'll likely want to spend some time on the river. It is usually high and quite fast until May and then quietens for relaxing paddles or peddles throughout the summer months until fall. Enjoying nature is the main occupation here. Watching birds and wildlife beside the waterfalls, paddling up the river, or touring the countryside by bicycle can really eat up a day. You can also enjoy a refreshing swim in the waterfalls and pick some fresh organic greens from our vegetable garden to complement your meals. A waiver must be signed prior to using the facilities due to the inherent dangers associated with being near the water. It is the river that gives this place it's magical vibe and brings the wildlife in abundance for our pleasure. Bring your camera! Great Blue Herons, Song Birds, Eagles, Otters, Beavers, Muskrats, Geese, Ducks, Swans, Turtles, song birds and many others are all happy to call Lonsdale home or stop by to say hi. You never know who is going to drop by next. The grounds are full of flowers and birds and the sound of the waterfalls makes this an ideal spot to just kick back and enjoy. FALL AND WINTER AT THE MILL: During the fall and winter months enjoy the outdoor all season hot tub under the stars by the river and waterfall. If the pond is frozen, bring your skates, snowshoes or cross country skis for fun right outside the back door. There are also several nearby cross country ski locations and walking trails, first class performances at Belleville's Empire and Kingston's Grand Theatre and many other seasonal attractions in our area during the cooler months.
We live in the tiny hamlet of Lonsdale. There are no stores or services in the immediate area. The closest town is Deseronto, 15 minutes south. Groceries can be purchased in Napanee, a 20 minute drive east at either, No Frills, Metro or Walmart, Picton has three grocery stores or Belleville to the West has several grocery stores.
  • Lovely spot. The river rushing back made for the best sleep I've had in quite a long time. The space is charming, the hot tub relaxing and we had a lovely stay.

    Genevieve2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Miller's Retreat. It was clean and lovely and thoughtfully decorated with a lot of added touches. The flowing water and the gardens helped provide an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Suzie and Jerry were excellent hosts. It was more than we had hoped for. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend time in Prince Edward County even though it is north of the #401. Thank you so much!!

    Carol2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Suzie and Jerry's place is amazing, and a real gem of a retreat. We loved our time there and the setting is absolutely beautiful. We look forward to our next retreat there!

    Phil2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Through Suzie and Jerry's incredibly hard work over the years, their Mill offers a glimpse of the past with all the comforts and attention to detail that those that can, will appreciate. The bed and linens are so comfortable that one (or two) could just open the windows to hear the water rushing by and spend a day indoors. The kitchen offer all salt and pepper, dried herbs, lovely pots and pans and thoughtful touches such as tea, coffee, sugar, jam, condiments and even toothpaste for those that forget to pack that last important item. The decor is even better in person and they offer the most comfortable chairs to read in or watch TV. We have already booked our return stay. Highly recommended for those wanted to visit nearby wineries or just enjoy the Mill and nature. Suzie and Jerry are lovely, relaxed owners who are there if you need them.

    Alison2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Miller's retreat! The space was even more beautiful in person than it was in the pics! We were warmly welcomed and there was a bottle of wine and some snacks waiting for us when we arrived. The space was meticulously clean and beautifully decorated. Every detail was thought out, from a cozy blanket on the chairs inside to the comfortable outdoor chairs on the small patio. The hot tub under the stars was icing on the cake. We could have stayed there comfortably for a week with the full kitchen. Unfortunately, we only had a short weekend, but it was a lovely drive to Prince Edward County and an even more lovely place to return to after a day wandering the wineries. We will definitely return, and my only hesitation in writing such a glowing review, is that this place will be booked solid and we won't get a chance to go back as soon as we'd like!

    Heather2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • The mill is a really nice place for everyone who likes to get away from the busy life. Suzie en Jerry are amazing hosts and the house provides canoes, kayaks, fishing rods and bikes to explore the area. Great place to relax, nicely decorated with a lot of beautiful details. Amazing to come back to the mill after a day of kayaking or biking, light up the BBQ next to the river and then take a relaxing dip in the hot tub.

    Tom2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Suzie's place was unbelievable. She thought of everything from water and milk in the fridge to her "complementary snackies". Thank you so much for such an amazing weekend!

    Shawna2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Photos are accurate, and perhaps don't do the location justice. The rushing water was mesmerizing. The apartment is private and well appointed and Suzie is a lovely, respectful host.

    Kaitlyn2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I start? Beautiful location, great organization, clear communication, all of the amenities needed and most of all: extreme hospitality. We arrived a bit late and the restaurants around were already closed so Tim and Sophie offered us delicious, authentic tostadas to eat and then invited us to their living room where we stayed up late, having great conversations and getting to know each other. During breakfast (very generous one!) we felt like a part of their beautiful family. Their adorable and super smart daughter Mia was entertaining us with her singing and science experiments. In short, 5 star experience on all levels!

  • We had the best time at Cedar Woods! We were 4 couples with 2 babies and everything was wonderful for our Christmas weekend. We have been in many cottages before and we can assure that Gaetano and Odilia went the extra 10 miles. The beautiful view at the Lake, the quality of all the appliances and kitchenware, the comfort of the bedrooms, the cozy living room, the great big table, everything was just perfect. Gaetano and Odilia were a treat to deal with from start to end and the house is even more beautiful in person. We will certainly come back!

    Lucía2016-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible stay at Cedar Woods ringing in the New Year. Gaetano and Odilia were fantastic hosts and extremely welcoming, providing us with holiday cookies, wine, and champagne for our stay. The cottage itself is beautiful. The open space of the first floor combining the living room, kitchen, and dining room provided the perfect space for a gathering of friends. The large windows provided a stunning view of the waterfront during the day. Kitchen was fully equipped with spices, cooking apparatus, coffee, and tea. Bathroom was fully stocked. The space was extremely clean and the beds gloriously comfy. Located off the road and away from neighbours, providing privacy when in the yard. You can tell that the hosts care about your stay and are attune to the details of what makes a pleasant stay, going beyond what is expected.

A lot of attention to detail starting from the warm blanket throws to the complimentary bottle of wine. The layout is perfect for groups and the scenery was amazing. The place was fully stocked with clean linens and towels as well. Great example of how an airbnb should be run. Will come back again for sure.

The space was perfect with so many thoughtful touches. The best surprise was the bathroom, only 10 steps away. It was pristine and like being in a spa! The bed was extremely comfy and the fan, plus the cool lake breeze kept us nice and cool at night. We would love to return for our next trip to the county.

  • Great location right along the salmon river in a beautiful large log cottage with nice wood touches throughout. The deck is right outside overlooking the river and perfect to grill and have meals on. There's lots of space inside as well for meals/games/relaxing. Peter was a great host, quick responses and easy checkin!

  • Beautiful cabin!!! This was truly a real Canadian experience in the wilderness. Peter was such an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed to have a good time. Very welcoming and accommodating. The kitchen was fully stocked. From the countless beverages to the spices and bakeware. Everything just makes you feel so welcome!!! Would definitely come back.

  • We booked Peter's cottage for a weekend in early August. We had some relatives over from the UK and they wanted an "authentic Canadian experience". The log cabin next to a river was selected as a result. The cabin was quite spacious; the master bedroom on 2nd floor came with an en-suite washroom (but it didnt have any doors - we found that a little awkward), there was also a spacious drawing room / family room arrangement on that level. The ground floor was spacious with a full kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms & a washroom. The basement also had another bedroom + a living room. Our stay was quite comfortable. The balcony on the ground floor overlooking the river was the best feature on this property. It made for great family time. Although in the description it stated there was Wifi & cable tv, those services were not functional. We chose not to bother Peter about this as this actually allowed us to spend more time with each other. However,It may be problematic if you have teenagers who need to (Hidden by Airbnb) their cottage experience. Overall we had a great experience.
