  • EPIC. EPIC. EPIC. There is no other way to say it. Our stay was really awesome, best Air BnB of our trip through NZ.

  • Robyn's guest house was a very elegant, up-scale, brand new bach with great views, set in a lovely, rural setting. It was clean, comfortable and very private, with a terrific, well-stocked kitchen and very nice bedrooms and bathroom. It was very good value for money and exceeded my wife's and my expectations.

    Jaime2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house is spectacular! She provides everything you can thing of and much more. The beds are heaven. Every cooking utensil you need is there. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Walking distance to the heart of our quintessential NZ township of Maungaturoto with cafes and gift shops, this comfortably furnished home has 3 bedrooms, polished floors, a Kent style fire place in the living area, an HRV system, open plan living from the kitchen, and dining through to the living area, and a separate external access garage. Close to Mangawhai, Waipu, Whakapirau, Pirou Falls, Kauri Bushman's Walk and the Kauri Museum. 1hr from Dargaville and Whangarei and 1.5hrs from Auckland
Highly Recommend locally owned Whole Life Organics Cafe
  • Katrina's place is quiet and stylish. 2mb internet, groceries and walks close by. On some summer days the house can get a bit hot. Don't miss out on her recommended spots, they are all worth it specially the Kauri Museum. If travelling with kids, Maungaturoto's playground is great, and Katrina's place has a very safe and enjoyable backyard full of fruit trees. True New Zealand town, as the sign at Maungaturoto's entrance reads. Worth spending some days getting to know it.

Most magical spot on the Kaipara Harbour. Secluded, walks, safe swimming, great fishing and views. Couples, solos, families (roll out bed, space for a tent). Kitchen facilities and hot-water shower. It's glamping - use the nearby meticulous public toilet. Fish from the beach or boat - ramp nearby and space to park your boat) or kayak. With historic Batley House - and us - nearby, you'll be on a peninsula on a 1000-acre farm less than two hours from Auckland and 20 mins from Maungaturoto.
Retreat on the edge of the harbour and in a cosy nook protected from prevailing wind. Great walks, safe swiming and good fishing. The area is steeped in history. You can walk along the beach heading both ways and up the hill behind our house for amazing views. It's quiet and private - most people haven't heard of Batley. Some locals launch their boats here, but often you'll have the beach to yourselves. For history buffs - there's an historic church nearby and this was once a pioneer settlement with a wharf, fish factories, flour mill, shop, post office, church and school - and lots of people. Our house was a boarding house and hotel. My book, 'Love at the End of the Road' tells the area's story - there's a copy in the cabin. It's a perfect place to chill out and enjoy the environment - the birdlife, the everchanging colours of the sea and hills, or catch up on reading in the peace and quiet.
Batley is at the end of a peninsula that comprises farmland and native trees. You'll look across the harbour to Oneriri Peninsula. You can swim, walk, paddle, fish, kayak from the beach in front of the cabin or launch larger boats from the nearby ramp to go cruising or fishing. It's quiet - some days there might be only you although Santa has been known to arrive by chopper to delight the local Fire Brigade children. There are a handful of houses within about 4km. There are sheep and cattle in the paddocks and a horse. Walk up the hill behind the house for great views. This was a busy pioneer area and the aura of that still exists.
  • Amazing place! Complete serenity and the water at your doorstep, what more could you need!

    Rachel2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Rae and Rex. We had an amazing break. I loved being able to get in the water everyday. Either to swim or to make friends with the sea creatures. You were kind and considerate, giving us space when we needed it, and company when we needed it. The cabin was affordable which given our budget was really important. It made our visit possible on the first place. I miss the water already, and I would highly recommend my Airbnb friends pay Kaipara a visit. Thank you, Brooke

  • The perfect place to relax an unwind. The most loveliest hosts too.

    Leah2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable place, right on the water’s edge with a stunning view. Very secluded, at the end of a gravel long road, ideal for getting away from it all. Friendly hosts.

We live on a lifestyle block about 7 minutes drive North of Kaiwaka. The cabin is self contained. It has a small lounge/kitchen/dining; bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. A bedroom with two king size single beds. In the lounge is a fold out sofa, which turns into a double bed. The kitchen has pots, pans, cups, plates and cutlery. There is coffee, tea, milo, milk and sugar. There is no Wifi inside the unit, it is outside and guests are also welcome to use the Wifi inside our house.
Guests with children should be aware that we are bordering a lake. The private lake is surrounded by lifestyle blocks, so it is very peaceful and quiet here. We have a jetty from which you can jump or dive straight into the water. We also have a very friendly Golden retriever dog, Chloe, who wants to say hello to everybody.
Our place is a lifestyle block about 7 minutes drive North of Kaiwaka. Kaiwaka is a small town with, amongst others, a very good 4 square grocery shop, a yummy bakery, Eutopia cafe and a dutch cheese shop. There is also a pub, restaurant as well as lunch bars. We are about 15 minutes drive from Mangawhai village, with more restaurants, art gallery and craft shops. Another 5-10 minutes takes you to Mangawhai surf beach, where you can also take a beautiful coastal walk. Our land is adjacent to a lake, which covers about 25 acres.
  • Once again, Christa & Henk were just a super hosts. They met us within seconds of arriving. The accommodation is perfect. It was lovely to just relax next to the lake, looking at the ducks. The grounds are also extensive, with all sorts of fruit trees. It was great to explore. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short, because of the Government's announcement of lockdown. Christa was extremely accommodating and understanding, and refunded us for the day we couldn't stay. This has definitely become one of my favourite places to stay!

    Joanie2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing lake location, very clean. Comfortable beds and great shower. Thanks to Christa and husband who are fantastic hosts. Would highly recommend

    Elena2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I had a lovely stay and we would highly recommend to anyone hoping to get away from the hustles and bustles. We only spent one night there (breaking up our travels from Tauranga to the Bay of Islands) but could have easily hung out there for a few days. Very helpful hosts and an awesome scenic spot - the kayaks were a great addition too!

    Liam2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The thing I must have enjoyed most, was taking a dip in that beautiful lake. The view is stunning, and it's like the whole world melts away. Christa was very friendly and greeted me with strawberries from Henk's beautiful garden. They were both very attentive, and the dog was such a sweetheart. This is the perfect place to stay. It's perfectly located between 2 towns that offer beautiful beaches, restaurants, museums, a cheese factory, and a chocolate factory. It has a fully functioning kitchen, and there is a lot of room inside and outside to spread. I'm definitely coming back again!

    Joanie2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot to unwind, enjoy walks around the lake and the rural atmosphere.

    Colette2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Christa’s place. Warm couple whom own a lovely peaceful place. The unit itself was exceptionally clean. Highly recommend.

    Daniel2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay - it’s was exactly what we needed for a quick stop over on our way further north. Just as a side note we didn’t have any reception at all in the cabin which was fine as we were only there for 1 night. I think you can step outside if you are really desperate and of course if you need WiFi you are able to use it at the main house :)

    Jasmine & Phillip2019-10-29T00:00:00Z

  • This was our second stay at Rimu House. This is an excellent place/home to stay. You will not be disappointed! Lorraine and Peter are lovely people. You have as much privacy as you want or can be as social as you are comfortable. Lorraine and Peter are a wealth of knowledge and very interesting people. Our room was excellent and as a travelling couple the space suited our needs perfectly. Included with our stay was lovely complete breakfast! Thank you

  • We stayed at Lorraine's place for just a day but we wish we could have stayed longer. The place was amazing and is perfect for those peaceful getaways. The place was clean and beautifully decorated. Comfy and cosy are two words that come to mind. She opened her home to us and made us feel welcomed. Breakfast was amazing with a lot of homemade jams and preserves. A walk around the garden is a must. Would definitely give this place a 5 star.

  • Amee and her husband were very welcoming and helpful. The airbnb is located closeby to a lot of local places that are worth visiting. A very nice experience for camping enthusiasts.

    Jon2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place, great hosts, fantastic activities to do! Swim, glow worms, hike totally worth while!

    Marcel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing ☺️

    Maddie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Truly the best Airbnb experience I have ever had, every detail of this place is absolutely perfect. If you are contemplating booking Amees beautiful tent I highly recommend you do so. Firstly, it is extremely private with a lot of activities to do within minutes walk. The stream is extraordinarily serene and beautiful, the mountain/hill side was optimal for viewing sunsets and star gazing, and the glow worms were the perfect touch to end the evening. If you have never seen shooting stars, look no further. I have never seen stars so abundant and bright in my life! And we saw several servers shooting stars while star gazing! The tent itself is absolutely gorgeous with a simple yet rich atmosphere. The bed is comfy, the couch and table is also very nice. The deck is absolutely divine for star gazing also! And to bask in the morning sun. Do bring a picnic mat or something if you’d like some comfort when lying down! Do not underestimate the hammock, it was truly delightful to get some shade and breeze while relaxing. Even the bathroom was great! The bathtub is a must use on your stay here!!! If you’re worried about bugs you really do not have to be. Neither my friend or me were bitten by bugs at all and we spent most of our time outside on the deck even at night time. Not to mention the host herself, Amee, was extremely kind and hospitable. She let us know about all the activities and she also leaves a clear file of all the information you could ever need while you are there. If you are planning on coming here in winter she even provides fire wood for the fire place! Amee if you are reading this, thank you!! You really made our stay here :)

    Jenny2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Host was amazing, I asked if they can help with hot water as there is no electricity in the tent and they lent me a gas cooker and kettle :)

    Albert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely experience! We asked if we can checkin earlier than the required checkin time and Amee was very kind and allowed us without paying additional fee :).. we were greeted by Amee and John upon arrival. John showed us the way to the tent and gave us instructions on the activities that we can do. We went on a hike and saw some wild goats. We went to see the falls/stream, then at night we went and see the glow worms. The tent is bigger from the picture and there is toilet and bath with hot&cold water which is a plus. Will surely recommend this to our friends. Thank you Amee and John. 😊

    Roselle2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A magical weekend away. We loved our dips in the watering hole, the stars at night, the comfy bed, breakfast on the deck (thank you for the camp stove for water boiling!), nature all around. Definitely worth staying a second night to really get to appreciate all that this slice of heaven offers. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this very special spot.

Take your time (3 hours of even more!) to visit the very interesting kaurimuseum, just a 15min drive. Also nearby a nice walk through a kauri reserve, where you probably will be alone to admire these trees. Merci beaucoup Alice and Paul for our nice and interesting stay

This rustic tiny cabin on Mangawhai's estuary is the perfect weekender. Being indeed tiny with its 7 sqm, it is nestled on a large, eco friendly property with lots of trees and birdlife, water views and access to kayak or paddle board, if you bring your own. Only 5 min walk to shops, cafe's and chocolate factory, the saturday markets and tavern. its 5min drive to the beach and at night you can often hear the surf. A perfect hide away in the pulse of Mangawhai.
This is a down to earth place with a wild garden, two cats in the jard and the main cottage made from recycled material. . I live with my 2 sons, Dario and Silva. They both have their separate little dwelling as bedrooms, a Caravan and a former workshop. The cabin itself used to be a little housetruck that got parked up in the garden - without the truck part. Its got a comfy bed, has a balcony with bean bags where you can look out to the estuary through the trees. there is power, a kettle with tea and coffee provided and I can give you some fresh milk in the morning. you have your own private sitting area with a big bbq, that has one element for cooking, and a kitchen bench with a small sink. this outdoor kitchen can only be used in fine weather, as it is not under cover. You have your own outdoor shower, heated with gas. the toilet is a tidy longdrop in the garden. wifi available.
  • Beautiful restful location, simple clean and delightful

    Talia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous little space with outside shower tucked into the bush, bean bags with a view over the estuary for the morning coffee. Very special little spot.

  • Such a lovely little cabin. A really nice getaway to enjoy nature and just relax. Britta was so friendly and welcoming. Would love to go and stay again. Well worth the price.

  • What an absolute delight this little 'tiny cabin' was. Note that it is tiny - so perhaps not ideal for overly tall people - but ideal for one, and I adored it. A beautiful outlook from the bed across gorgeous bush and wetlands, with pukekoes roaming around. The outdoor shower was wonderful - how amazing to have a hot shower looking out straight into the forest, with no walls in front of you. Peaceful and serene, and oh my gosh, the stars at night! Britta was lovely, very helpful, and very patient with my unavoidably constantly changing travel plans! Will likely do the same trip this time next year, and stay again.

    Karolyn2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny cabin is cute, comfortable and a great place to unwind. We truly enjoyed our stay here, the evening spent on the little deck and the outdoors garden shower. Peaceful setting in the garden by the estuary. This place is tiny but offers all you need, very thoughtfully pulled together. Thanks Britta!

Located on beautiful Bream Bay in New Zealand's Northland. Close to shops, the beach and other amenities. Comfortable bed and great shower. Off street parking.
  • This place is outstandig. Very tidy and clean with all you need for a comfortable stay. It has plenty of sunlight an big windows to enjoy sunsets from the living room. Big spaces and an extremely comfortable bed. Richard is awesome, always ready to help and extremely kind. He is always with a big smile on his face, and is definitively one of the reasons why we enjoyed our stay so much. I really recommend this place.

  • Excellent place to stay with everything you need close to Whangarei

    Alison2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place. The best value we have seen anywhere so far on our travels on the north island. An entire guest unit at a very good price. Richard provided some tips on places to see in area and farther north.

    Johann2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's home is a perfect spot to stay up north. He is incredibly friendly and hospitable. You can see the sun rise over the horizon, and it's beautiful. I would definitely return!

    Sean2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • We thought we were booking a room and got an entire apartment just for us! It was great for us, especially because we arrived late and still wanted to cook. So we didn't bother anyone and Richard was still so attentive to give us a lemon for the fish. He is very personable and attentive. We really enjoyed our privacy and the nice contact with him too!

    Tina2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 2nd stay with Richard. Wish we had booked more nights in the beginning as this bnb has gotten very popular. The home is very clean and comfy and we would stay again.

    Janet2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is really fantastic. You have everything you need and much more. The house is huge and really clean and tidy. Richard is a wonderful host, he is always friendly and laughing. We instantly felt home. I would give 6 stars if I could. The price is unbeatable. Thank you very much for having us, wishing you all the best

    Moritz2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • GOOD VALUE. The unit is new and of high quality. The bed is extremely comfortable (firm mattress), the living room is a bit minimal but very functional. Richard is laid back and welcoming. He made us feel at home while providing us total privacy. The beaches were a short drive away. Great place for a short stay!

A lovely fully equipped modern cottage in a rural setting on the beautiful Kaipara Harbour only 90 mins north of Auckland. Peace and quiet, cosy. Lounge on the decks, soak in the bath, stoke the fire or explore further afield
The 'Nikau Nest' is a beautiful, architecturally designed, stand-alone cottage on our 6 hectare lifestyle block on the Kaipara Harbour, 10 minutes west of Kaiwaka (The Little Town of Lights). Surrounded by bush and gardens and with views out to the Takahoa inlet and the rural countryside it is the perfect place to relax and unwind or use as a base to explore surrounding areas of Northland. It is many things: A private secluded ‘getaway’ spot only 90 minutes north of Auckland. Relax in the peace and quiet of rural, coastal northland; ideal spot to unwind or even for a romantic getaway. A base to explore this beautiful part of Northland - visit the east coast beaches and Mangawhai or west, to experience the culture and history of the Kaipara district including Matakohe Kauri museum, West Coast beaches and the Kauri forests A place to soak up the atmosphere of the Kaipara harbour and maybe catch some fish. Bring your boat or kayaks and launch at the all tide boat ramp 5 minutes away A stopping off point for your journey north or south. Cool in the summer and wonderfully warm in winter with the wood burner it is equipped with everything you need to allow you to be self-sufficient during your stay, including: Well equipped separate kitchen - gas hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave/grill, Nespresso machine. Tea, coffee, salt and pepper. Two decks - Your own BBQ, table and chairs and outdoor seating TV (Freeview), WiFi is available but currently only from the front deck, Stereo, DVD/BlueRay player. Separate bathroom with shower or enjoy a soak in the free standing bath which has great views over the countryside. Use of our swimming pool to cool off (at main house). You are welcome to wander around our property and enjoy the scenery, bush walks, the animals and bird life. Peacocks wander the property. The native bird life is bountiful. We have sheep so please leave gates as you find them.
We are situated 10 km from Kaiwaka along the Oneriri Peninsula on the edge of the Kaipara Harbour. Kaiwaka, on the main highway north, provides your base for supplies - small supermarket, service station, cafes, the Three Furlongs Bar and Grill (does a great fresh seafood meal on a Friday night), Indian restaurant, liquor shop, Italian bakery, The Kaiwaka Cheese Shop (which stocks a wide range of cheeses from New Zealand, Holland, France and Switzerland as well as organics and specialty foods)..... The Kaipara Harbour is reputedly the largest harbour in the southern hemisphere. It is the largest nursery for juvenile snapper on the west coast. Take the opportunity to explore its coastline and its history. 30 minutes to the east coast beaches (Mangawhai Heads, Te Arai, Pakiri). At Mangawhai; cafes, the Saturday market, Bennetts chocolate factory, golf course, the museum and art gallery are some of the options to investigate. Further afield are the lovely settlements of Waipu and Matakana. Travel west to Matakohe and the Kauri Museum. Wander the west coast beaches (especially wonderful in stormy weather) as a contrast to the east coast. Travel north from Dargaville to see the Waipoua and Trounson Kauri forests and Kai Iwi lakes. Travel north to Whangarei and on to the Bay of Islands.

Kia ora Kotou Katoa, Nau Mai haera Mai, Tena Kotou Katou (Welcome, welcome, welcome to all) Haeri Ki te Whare O Nga Whanau - (Welcome to our Home) This two-story house in the middle of a Country lifestyle dream, it is set in the valley of the Kaipara district, a 4 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom, 2 lounge place of tranquility, a view of the Brynderwyn's ranges only a few km away, a view to treasure for a lifetime. The owner works from home and is available for directions to nearby scenic sites..
We have a 4 yr old Jack Russell terrier named Ragna ( or raggy) he loves to play "throw the Ball"he has his favorite ball and also loves a good scratch, so if you love dogs then he will love you back.
We may be a small town (800 pop), Maungaturoto means "mountain standing up in lagoons" (Wikipedia) however the local Hapu (subtribe) would differ in that translation. we have a great community with a really nice village, a couple of comfortable cafes, a supermarket with fresh local produce for sale, and a really awesome Vegetarian Cafe if you are so inclined, with a collection of natural herbal remedies for sale. The township is located close to the Otamatea River, an estuarial arm of the Kaipara Harbour 25 kilometres north of Wellsford and 45 kilometres south of Whangarei. We may not be as big as Whangarei or Auckland but we are small enough to care and greet anyone we pass with a "Morning how are you today".

    Virendra2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Normally I would only be writing this place up as a really beautiful place to stay. However, an unfortunate occurrence revealed how kind and generous the hosts truly were. We drove up from North Shore where we are visiting our daughters to have a couple of days on our own. After spending the afternoon on the beach at Waipu Cove, we started driving up to the BnB when the car we’d borrowed started overheating. We managed to get there just, by which time it had really broken down. Paul helped me to restore it sufficiently to drive it back down into the village where I left it at the small garage behind the Petrol Station. We were then able to have a meal at Mcleods Pizza restaurant (nice). Paul then picked us up to bring us back. In the morning we contacted the garage and crossed our fingers. Paul very kindly lent us his car for the day but when we drove back to Waipu, the garage had managed to fix our car, so we were able to give him his back. In the event of a repair not being possible, he had offered to follow us halfway home to ensure we got back Ok. So what can you say other than outstanding! Both Viv and Paul are very friendly and personable. Their home is lovely, with comfortable accommodation, a lovely garden with outstanding views. The only criticism you might make is that they are 3km up an unmade road from the main Highway but it’s worth the effort. Sitting in the hot-tub under the stars was a cool experience. To top it off we were both able to enjoy professional massages from Viv, who is fully qualified, and has a treatment room at home. Very much to be recommended.

There is a connecting door between your space and ours lockable on both sides which will not be unlocked during your staycation. *No cooking facilities* I will leave provisions for you in your fridge :) There is a small fridge, kettle , microwave, toaster, plus crockery for light refreshments... ;) Drinking water in the bathroom is filtered so it's ok to drink. There will also be water in your fridge . Hygienically cleaned as per MOH guidelines.. I take pride in ensuring all areas are cleaned to a high standard and there will be a 48 hour block out period after each guest has left . *Check out is 11am* ** Boogie boards are in the cupboard along with deck chairs and beach towels. Have fun in the surf or the lagoon, borrow a book to read down at one of our local beaches. Life guards are at Ruakaka Beach but not at Racecourse beach. Hire a Kayak from Simon at Princes Road for a cool trip on the river.. Guided tours start around $30 an hour . Tell him I sent you. He gives discounts. Take a horse trek at Waipu. Good eateries in the area with social distancing . But in winter they close earlier There are also takeaways so you will not go hungry. We have Indian, kebab, pizza, fish n chips, Chinese and Sushi :) No great views of anything as stated this is just a humble home in a surburban street but you can hear the surf at high tide :). There may be surburbia noise like lawn mowers, the odd dog or family get togethers.. If somebody is playing music it should stop at 11pm. This street has CTV cameras .
Ruakaka is just a little town with a population of around 4,000 There is a supermarket, a small array of shops, a bank and a chemist, some nice cafes and an ice cream parlor. Eateries do close earlier in winter months Ruakaka has long white beaches and a bird reserve. We are lucky to have an amazing 3000 Godwits flying over after roosting in the estuary at high tide Pelagics now running out of Marsden with real scientists. Give me a holla if you want more information;) Historic Waipu and it’s proud connections to Scotland is 15 drive minutes South. Waipu coastal walkway is a fantastic little hike looking out to the Hen and Chicks Waipu caves to see the glow worms is very cool and free to visit. Urititi Doc Camp where you can hang everything out can be walked to or a 5 minute drive. :) The city of Whangarei is 25 mins drive north. There will be roadworks on the way as our new road is being built. The Quarry Art center in Whangarei is a blissful place filled with amazing crafty folk and some great walks where you will see heaps of native birds. Whangarei falls are stunning and there are volunteer guides over the Summer months. The beautiful Bay of Islands is just over 90 minutes away by car heading north. Russell is very historic and worth a visit . Tutukaka the gateway to the Poor Knights marine reserve is around 75mins north.^ Mount Manaia although just a kilometre by water is a 50 minute drive to Whangarei heads. There is a boat that will take you over for $20 per person return from Marsden. The walking track and view from the top are amazing . There are a lot of steps up so not recommended if your knees are problematic. See Sparky the kiwi at Whangarei wildlife rescue centre along with other rescued birds. ( this is on weekdays only but never if it rains) a small koha is appreciated. Kiwi North is next door and open 7 days a week if you need a real kiwi fix. Take a horse ride at Urititi along the trials to Waipu. There are specials to look out for on GroupOn , Book me and Grabone. There are several fishing charters that leave from Marsden. Please ask for further details or again look on Grabone for some amazing specials. There are monthly markets at both Marsden marina and Waipu as well as Ruakaka surf club market in the summer months. .Orca, Bottlenose dolphins and the odd whale are sometimes seen from the shoreline.

The host lives in a house 50 meters away from the cottage. Both places are on a 2.5 acre northfacing property towards the Kaipara Harbour, and are part of the 175 acres Otamatea Eco Village, situated on a peninsular. It can be reached from Oneriri Road on a 4 km long private access street.
The cottage has 25 sqm inside and appr. 15 sqm of roofed terrace. Very private with large garden space around. Queen size bed, kitchen unit, gas powered hot water/shower, composting toilet, unlimited internet/wifi.
The 21 property owners of the Eco Village endeavour to live in a ecologically aware mindset. In 20 years of converting barren farmland into gardens, forests and orchards, we have not used any chemicals.
  • Its an awesome place to stay. Its a sweet clean and genius cottage. Its quite , comfortable and you're in the nature. My Girlfriend and me we enjoyed every day here and it became like a second home for us. The host became a friend for us too and it was hard to say goodbye. Everything here was cool , Jenner told us so many nice places around kaiwaka invited us to the Eco Village and all in all he's a very generous and lovely person. Thank you for the stay at your cottage ! The only thing that we regret is that we didnt stay longer! Leo and Lena

  • It was such a wonderful experience to stay in this unit. The place is so clean, modern, relaxing and over looking by the lake. Unfortunately we only stayed for 1 day/night as we are only transiting and we are on to our next destination the next day. And ohh! If u are friendly with dogs, Mr. Barney is there to greet and wag his tail as he welcomes u. He's very tamed and sweet! Indeed a very friendly hosts (incld Mr. Barney) Thanks Marilyn! Mary and Leon

  • Merilyn and her partner were very accommodating with our checking. Place was exceptionally tranquil. Loved the BBQ outside overlooking a lovely view. During a little rain, the place was so comfy. They went out of their way to give us our space, but also to check that we had everything we needed. Great spots nearby, so overall a highly recommended spot. Enjoy your stay! :)

  • If you want tranquility, comfort, and relaxing natural views this is the place for you. Friendly hospitality with a comfortable private en-suite room. Great veranda to relax on. Highlight of our stay was hearing kiwis calling in the native bush outside our room. Very quiet country nights.
