  • Loved staying here! The decor was so sweet and loved hanging out in the reading nook.

  • Barb's place is big, beautiful, and cheerful! Perfectly situated near the river and right in town. Great common spaces with TVs and heaters, fully equipped kitchen, and cozy bedroom! Would definitely stay again. Barb was an excellent host, quick to get back to me, and very hospitable!

    Rachel2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Barb's place is the perfect half way spot between California's Central Valley and Oregon's Central Coast. Yes, the train is close but it didn't bother me. The home is comfortable and clean. The bathroom is dated. I plan to be a repeat guest!

    Kirsten2020-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thank u Barb!! You have a lovely home !!! 💕🎀💜

    Mary2020-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at a lovely place. Barb is very responsive and helpful as a host. The place was very spacious and clean and nicely furnished. Only issue is the train that passes by every once and a while, which can be loud. Overall, I recommend staying here.

    Daniel2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Barb’s place was the perfect place for a stopover on our way to Portland. It had everything we needed especially as we were limited to doing anything in town. Very cozy and welcoming.

    Denise2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I decided to take a last minute trip to Dunsmuir. We were lucky to find Barbs place the day before and we’re about to book for a couple days. The home was lovely!! Very warm and welcoming. We loved our stay very much!

Due to Covid-19 in compliance with government regulations, we are closing until further notice. Please bear with us, we will look forward to re-opening when the Covid-19 pandemic scare is over and travel can resume as usual. Please check back as we will update our listing as soon as allowed. Stay safe and healthy!
The building was built in 1906, it is mostly all wood furnished. It has arched windows that cover the view of the beautiful mountain, Mt. Shasta. Nicely equipped large kitchen, thermostat or wood burning stove, large whirlwind bathtub, comfortable beds with nice linens, and you get the whole place to yourself. We provide plenty of towels, plates, silverware, coffeemaker, and much more. It's an extremely cozy and warm place to spend time with family and friends. We do allow pets, if they are potty-trained, it is totally fine just please let us know.
Our town has no traffic lights. So quiet and surrounded by the beauty of lakes, streams, rivers, trails, mountains. All sports needing outdoor surroundings are great here! The air is clean and smells of pine. Stars are SO bright. There is a nice park with play grounds. The best part are the friendly people.
  • Great place, awesome view, wonderful building and privacy. Cool little town!

    Tim & Holly2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space is roomy and comfortable, the location is fabulous, and the apartment has just the kind of quirkiness I want in an AirBnb. We were here in the Winter, and every early morning I braved the freezing cold with a hot cup of coffee so that I could sit on the deck and watch the pink light of the sunrise cast over Mt Shasta ($1mil view!). With the giant windows facing the mountain, the fireplace, and the overall comfort of this place, you might not want to leave! Groceries, a couple shops, and a couple restaurants are an easy walk away, plus there are joking trails, lakes, and Shasta City within a short drive. Melissa was quick to respond when we needed more firewood or locked ourselves out (whoops!). We plan to stay here again in the future!

    Jamie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice big !!! Place. Right in town

    Nicholas2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is outstanding for its price. 4 beds for their winter special of $99 a night!? Spacious kitchen and comfortable living room. They provided wood for the wood stove which was the perfect thing to come back to after spending time in the snow. Beautiful location. 15-20 minute drive from everything you want to see! From McCloud falls to Mt. Shasta to castle lake. Gorgeous area. The living area is simple so don’t expect luxury, but it’s perfect, feels like stepping back in time. Spending time with family up here playing board games in front of the fire. Didn’t turn on the tv once! Thank you Melissa for an amazing stay!

    Shelly2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a spectacular weekend staying at Melissa's place! Let me start off by saying that Melissa is a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make sure we were having an excellent stay. She was very accommodating with our large party and super communicative before, during and after our stay. We really appreciated the level of effort that was put into making sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Melissa answered all my questions and made the weekend a wonderful success! The apartment is very nice and spacious with plenty of sleeping room and space for activities in the common area. We loved staying here with our rather large group of friends and had a phenomenal time making use of the kitchen to cook our own dinners, watching movies in the living room, playing board games and just having such a good time in the apartment we almost didn't want leave for our other daily activities. The location of the apartment is wonderful and McCloud is a little hidden gem just down 89 from I-5. In one day we were able to accomplish some skiing at Mt. Shasta Ski Park as well as snowshoeing down at McCloud falls. It's super close to Mt. Shasta Ski Park, so if you're looking for a ski weekend I would highly recommend staying here! The location was incredibly ideal and did I mention the views from the deck???? The view of Mt. Shasta is incredible and made for an excellent early morning watching the sun rise. Overall, we absolutely loved staying here and I would highly recommend to anyone else looking for a nice little ski weekend getaway in Shasta that McCloud Dance Country Apartment is an amazing place to stay! Thank you so much to Melissa for making the weekend as amazing as possible! :)

  • If you are looking for a brand new/spotless 5 star resort with Egyptian cotton sheets this is not your place. If you want basic and functional accommodation, an awesome location, a million dollar view, abundant history, a wood burning stove with all the firewood you would ever want, a extremely responsive host who seems to really care for the guests then this is your spot. It was large and comfortable for our family of 3. We would return.

    Richard2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Close to Mossbrae and Burney Falls, McCloud lake and Mt Shasta.

  • A great place to stay! A historic apartment above an old dance hall- currently not open I believe. Walking distance to the little town and restaurants. It was perfect for a little getaway while attending a wedding at the hotel there.

  • Helen was absolutely awesome! It was my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend so we decided to have a get away in mount shasta and this was the perfect place. very cute and romantic. yoga mats, kettle and tea bags, incense, candles, and a fridge. when we went up it had snowed and we had a heater, a snow shovel, and umbrella, and cute mugs to put out tea in. we absolutely loved our stay and hope to stay there again soon💓

  • Helen is a wonderful woman with a beautiful family. I felt very safe! My car battery died all the way at the top of castle lake and she and her daughter came and jumped my car. It saved my life !!! Thank you Helen ❤️

  • Helen's place is nice and right off the road to Mt. Shasta

    Jordan2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Helen’s place was very cozy and welcoming, like a home-away-from-home. Although I didn’t really speak to anyone, the whole home and the space I stayed in felt community-oriented. Everything had thoughtful touches, and was inviting, it seemed. Logistically-speaking, Helen was flexible in my situation - I checked in last minute, and late, and requested a late check-out, which she was clear about her stance on (in this case, she was ok with it). I was very grateful, indeed, as I had been car-camping for a few days and really needed a respite. This is a great place, and I would stay here again!

  • Joan’s place was great! The space was cozy and clean, and stocked with everything we could need, including thoughtful touches like fresh coffee supplies and local guide books. It was also a great location just a few minutes walk from downtown Dunsmuir and a close drive to beautiful hikes. We would definitely stay again!

    Megan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We would definitely recommend staying at Joan's Airbnb! The place was super clean and a great place to come home to after an adventurous day. It had everything we needed to prepare a cozy meal and relax.

  • Nice little one room studio apartment with a cozy bed and a couch bed. Comes with everything you need and more. Close to shops and restaurants of this little town. Went for a lovely walk along the river and ate at the famous Yaks where the garlic obsession burger is too garlicky and delicious. We also got a bit of fudge downtown that was amazing... overall a charming short getaway! Apartment is not connected to other parts of the house but we could hear one of the neighbors through the wall some but not too bad. Very cozy. Joan was so responsive to all of our questions and needs.

  • Perfect little place to stay - easy drive to Mt Shasta, and perfectly situated within walking distance to two popular waterfalls and the city park/botanical gardens. Thyra & Nicky’s place was super clean and comfortable with all amenities provided. Would highly recommend!

    Kathy2020-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s &Thyra’s place was clean, charming, well-appointed and very comfortable. It was the perfect little respite after long days of hiking. The location was great - a short drive to downtown Mt Shasta, but easy walks in Dunsmuir to both waterfalls and to the city park/botanical gardens. Would highly recommend. Just know that Dunsmuir Ave runs parallel to the I-5 freeway and there is road noise that begins early in the morning. As long as you don’t leave the windows open at night it’s not a problem.

    Kathy2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was honestly the most magical experience of my life. I’ve never stayed at a better air bnb before. Ever. Everyone has got to stay here if you’re travelling the mount Shasta area!!!!!!!! So close to beautiful waterfalls and Sacramento River, super close to the incredible mountains, and near enough to a city that getting supplies is easily done in under ten minutes. Very amazing. So grateful for the stay. Will definitely be returning!!!

The scenery and small town feel were amazing to retreat to, and we had an amazing time playing in the snow, which we found very accessible, authentic and many times all to ourselves. The place was just as described and we had everything we needed. We would love to come back in the future

This newly remodeled cottage is light-and-modern on the inside, and cabin-in-the-woods rustic on the outside. It is perfect for someone passing through town who wants to be walking distance to the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, Yaks, Hedge Creek Falls, or the Sacramento River. Staying longer? Then chillax in this comfy and quiet 384 sq ft tiny & tidy home after a day of exploring the trails, lakes, rivers, and slopes of Siskiyou County. Small enough for one, but can sleep up to 4 chummy adults.
This unique space shows pride of ownership. Guests will find this "tiny home" to be clean and comfortable. Modern design, subdued decor, and lots of windows make this space feel much bigger than the 384 sq ft footprint. There is both shared and private outdoor patio space, and the cottage backs up to City of Dunsmuir owned forested property that provides access to the City Park, Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, sports park, tennis court, Sacramento River access, and trail to Tauhindauli Park. You can also access the road that takes you directly to Hedge Creek Falls (about a mile North) and Mossbrae Falls (a little over a mile North). Guests can use patio furniture, sports shed, and gas barbeque grill. Host lives in adjacent house and is available for questions or amenities to make your stay more comfortable.
Extremely safe and quiet North Dunsmuir neighborhood. Back of property borders City of Dunsmuir property with access to forested area and places of interest like the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, the Sacramento River, and Dunsmuir City Park. The hum of 1-5 is not that far off, but it sounds more like white noise than traffic.
  • The space is compact but well utilized. It's clean and comfortable. If you are a Nature lover, it next to a nice park and short drive to waterfall. I enjoyed my stay.

  • Such a charming place! Just what we needed after a long day on the slopes. Just 25 min away from Mt Shasta ski resort! Eden was a wonderful host and even warmed up the apartment for us to make it toasty when we got there.

We welcome you to our guest suite near downtown Mount Shasta! It offers a private entrance, cozy bedroom with your own bathroom, a full kitchen and a breakfast nook, plus a rustic deck all to yourself! Free high-speed Wifi. Free coffee and tea. There is onsite parking for one vehicle and plenty of street parking. So, relax, renew and make yourself at home!
Our guest suite is an excellent choice for responsible, budget minded travelers needing a convenient location in peaceful surroundings. It is situated only two blocks from Shasta Base Camp (offering outdoor gear, rentals, and a climbing gym) and Berryvale (a sweet grocery store and cafe). It is an easy walk (4 blocks) to all the local shops downtown. The bedroom is a cool place to chill out after a long day of exploring. You can sleep well on the queen sized, platform bed with 100% cotton sheets and a quality memory foam topper that makes the mattress super comfy. There are plenty of pillows and extra blankets to keep you warm and the unit is heated easily with a space heater if needed. There is a wall-mounted, 32 inch, flat screen, smart TV with Netflix and Hulu. It has room darkening curtains too, just in case you feel like sleeping in. The cheerful, fully stocked, 80’s era kitchen is simple and easy to use. It has a range, built-in oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, blender, bowls, pots and pans, cutlery, a fridge and a sink. Everything in the kitchen is fully functional and clean yet it is older and not without it's charms. The refrigerator isn’t glamorous and the faucet is a little quirky but everything is in working order. Coffee and tea are provided to our valued guests! Enjoy the mountain fresh air on the deck under the old growth oak and cedar trees. During your stay it is exclusively for you. The yard is currently a work in progress but it is large and filled with sunlight and it offers amazing views of the mountains across the valley. We use natural cleaning products, soaps and laundry detergent. We do occasionally need to use bleach in the bathroom but the products that we use in the other areas of the guest suite are kind to sensitive skin. Our guest suite is perfect for solo travelers or for couples! It shares a common wall with the main house but it has a private entrance and it is completely self-contained and separate. Come and go as you please!
  • We enjoyed our stay at Stephanie’s, very welcoming and has everything you need.

  • Our stay was exceptional. The host was prompt and very friendly. All our questions were answered clearly and thoroughly. Check-in was a breeze. The unit was very pretty, on a quiet street, and had everything we needed. Honestly I wish we could have stayed a couple more nights. Located right outside of town, we were only 15 minutes from the ski park, and within walking/quick drive distance of plenty of restaurants and other services. Nice big bathroom, and a kitchen added a real sense of comfort. All around a wonderful stay. We will absolutely stay here again if able. Thank you, Stephanie, so much. Made our trip so much better. 10/10. :)

  • My partner and I had a great stay at Stephanie’s! She worked with us through a few technical issues on the app and was available and willing to work with us day of! The place was adorable and private and had everything we needed (even extras like my favorite sparkling water!). Thank you for the great stay.

Huge trees on the terraced lot. Two decks (Front and back). There is a gas BBQ on the back deck. Very peaceful! Fenced back yard for pets. Walking distance to the center of town. Five blocks to the Sacramento River.
The house is set back in the lot and has two bedrooms with Queen size beds in each. It has one bathroom with a tub and shower. There is a washer and dryer inside.
Castle Street is a quiet street about 3 blocks from Dunsmuir Ave. There is an excellent selection of restaurants! The Dunsmuir Brewery is excellent! If you like Mexican food, La Perla de Nayarit is great! For breakfast I like the Cornerstone Cafe. Yaks is very good but a bit pricey! If you have kids, the Burger Barn and the Pizza Factory are great!
  • Perfect place to stay, very clean and beautiful view of the mountain!

    Emily2020-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for a getaway! Loved having a kitchen to cook meals in and a washer and dryer. James was quick to respond to questions and for our reservation. The wood burning stove kicks some major heat! So go easy on adding to it. Loved this place!

    Angelina2020-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dunsmuir is a beautiful town right on the side of the mountains. You cannot beat the scenery and fresh air. The best part of James's cabin is the porch! You can sit out and enjoy your time in nature. Everyone in the town is super friendly. It is everything you need for a weekend getaway. Our pups loved staying there too.

  • Carolyn's place is beautiful, cozy, and peaceful. It's off the beaten path enough to feel like an escape, but conveniently close to everything we needed access to - especially Lake Siskiyou. Carolyn herself was a wonderful host - responsive, available and welcoming. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend her place for a great escape into nature.

  • A hidden GEM. If you are looking for a place to stay in Mount Shasta, look no further because this is it. The location is perfect; minutes away from downtown and the grocery store while still feeling very secluded and nestled in nature. A short drive to Lake Siskiyou (about 5 minutes) and Castle Lake (20-25 min) which are must sees. The pictures don't do it justice; the small cottage exceeded my expectations. Carolyn allowed my girlfriend and I to use the firepit and we were able to sit by a warm crackling fire every evening. We spent three nights at this airbnb in the middle of April 2020 and didn't want to leave the morning of our departure. The airbnb itself is much larger than what I expected based off the photos. It's very clear that Carolyn put a lot of thought and care into the place. Everything is extremely functional, organized and labeled thoughtfully. In the bedroom: there's plenty of hooks and hangers for your clothes, there is a tall wardrobe for storage space, the bed faces the forest which is teeming with small wildlife and the view can't be beat. The kitchen and dining area are equipped with everything you need to sustain yourself: a water kettle, toaster oven, microwave, plates, utensils, a tray, and a very spacious "mini" fridge. The bathroom is huge and stocked with high quality hand soap, shampoo/conditioner and body wash. There are three mirrors of various sizes in the bathroom which my girlfriend appreciated. There is a bench situated across the shower, perfect for sitting or placing toiletries on. There is a small heater installed directly in front of the shower so that you're blasted with warm air once you step out of the shower (so awesome). I can't say enough good things about this place. Carolyn herself is a gracious, friendly, and kind host. She gave us complete privacy which was appreciated since it was a romantic getaway and we wanted to be immersed in nature and the beauty of the woods. We did meet her in-person and she was just as charming as her cottage was. We are looking forward to staying here again, this is definitely one of the best airbnbs we have ever encountered.

    Mike2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Super Host is an understatement. During quarantine, Carolyn put the hospital in hospitality with respect to her attention to cleanliness. Lovely space enmeshed in an ocean of desirable hiking locations. The unit was equipped with an electric grill, a fire pit, and a charismatic, but unassuming dog. My partner and I appreciated the stocked fridge, hiking recommendations, and the friendly small-town atmosphere. Total and complete endorsement :D

  • I was more than excited to go up to Shasta and Carolyn made it 10x better, not only keeping me updated with the weather and overall the stay but we talked the whole time I was there gave me amazing life advice and suggestions on where to go for a even more beautiful scenery. This trip was a well needed trip for me and staying in the mountains made it 100x better her cottage was the cutest thing ever and very much cozy and comfy it felt like a home away from home I’m so glad I met Carolyn and will definitely be back!

  • Carolyns place was WAY better than we expected. We decided to stay in Mount Shasta last minute on our road trip and her place was luckily available. It was a nice getaway home that was quiet and relaxing. The views were beautiful. I plan on staying again in the future :)

    Gabriele2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway location… Easy to access from the freeway but still feels miles away from the world. We got up for a late season skiing trip, and the location was perfect to get to the slopes. The house had a great set up. Since it was only a kitchenette we brought up our slow cooker (although Carolyn also has one to borrow) And had an amazing meal waiting for us when we got back from the slopes. Caroline provided lots of snacks, chocolate, and even a bottle of wine. What a great place to get away to.

Experience Mt. Shasta as the locals do! Off a quiet street, near the creek, you are nestled in the center of town. Green grass and beautiful trees surround our home creating a private parklike setting. Enjoy shopping, restaurants, farmers market, and local celebrations, all just a stroll out the door. Ski Park, mountains, rivers, and lakes are only just minutes away. We offer easy self-check-in, wifi, comfy clean home, and lots of extras in hopes you will come to visit us often. Sam & Laura
As first time host we are excited to share our home with you. We have tried to think of everything you may need to be comfortable. Our humble home has a couple of quirks and a few cosmetic imperfections but the linens are clean and the whole home is sanitized before each guest. If there is anything you expect and do not see addressed in the information presented please contact us. We would love the chance to make your visit a special one. We are open to new ideas and appreciate your feedback. Sam & Laura
You will encounter Mt. Shasta's historic elementary school as you reach Cedar Street. Turn left and Mt. Shasta's Mayor's home is recognizable by the bus in front and you will often find her working in her garden. The next house is your destination. If you just happen to pass it you will hit a dead end and meet the creek. The area is quiet for the most part but you will hear the train a few blocks away. The church bells, a occasional dog bark, and sometimes the neighbors will play a little music as they wash their cars. They may also hand you a plate of homemade cuisine. YUMMY! Very nice people. Don't forget to say "HI" to Jim as he walks his dog twice a day. He will stop and visit if you like and is very handy if you need anything.
  • What an amazing place! Even during this time of Covid Crisis Sam & Laura we’re so hospitable and welcoming. The place is perfectly located in central Shasta and you couldn’t ask for a better view of the mountain from the back patio. Just amazing. The dogs loved the wrap around yard and the energy of the place with the dragonflies and wood burning stove...if you picked this place to stay you picked the right one! Will definitely come back! Thank you two so much for welcoming some weary travelers! Love and light!

This is a lovely cabin tucked under the pines. Close to Mt. Shasta and skiing, fishing and hiking areas as well as the historic town of Dunsmuir. There’s a kitchen with a full size refrigerator so you can stay in or enjoy a lovely meal in town. Mt. Shasta is about 10 minutes away with wonderful shops and restaurants to explore. • Lisa’s cabin is tucked in the corner of a small rv resort giving you some privacy. The cabin is clean and pet friendly and there is even a bed provided for your pet. The set up is a queen bed with a full size futon to easily sleep 3 adults. There are puzzles, coloring books (with crayons! If you’re into coloring books), playing cards and board games to keep the fun going through the evening after spending the entire day exploring the beautiful scenery around you. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils and cookware - all you have to do is brink your own food. The shower and water can get very hot too during winter seasons too! Check-in was a breeze with Lisa and communication was great! Even though check-in wasn’t until 6pm I still had a full day planned out to explore, but Lisa also notified us we could check-in early if we’d like. I will definitely recommend Lisa’s cabin. Also, if you were wondering - there is no fireplace.

  • This place was absolutely amazing! Lisa was extremely prompt with all of her responses and very thorough with all my questions. I booked a few hours before I arrived and Lisa was very accommodating. They were so many extra amenities that I was not expecting such as extra food in the cupboard and refrigerator, a heated mattress pad, and countless games, books and DVDs. The bed was extremely comfortable and I love the heated mattress and my dog also slept very well on the dog bed provided. Overall, it was a very cozy place for a weekend getaway. Next time I drive through Shasta I will definitely stay at Lisa's place again and I 100% recommend you do the same!

Love the communication with the owner. It was a cold weekend with snow so they left the heater and light on for when we checked in!

  • Morgan's house was the perfect stop for Mt Shasta. The location is right on the main street where restaurants and shopping is located. It is also very close to amazing waterfalls and lakes! Her place was very clean and she had everything provided for you in the kitchen, bathroom, etc.

    Erin2020-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This well appointed house is comfortable and has everything you could need. I love hearing the train at night. We had a great stay here and will return. This place is super clean and quiet. There were no issues or problems.

  • Great place to enjoy the town of Dunsmuir and the surrounding area, Mt Shasta and Lake Shasta. Morgan’s place is super cute and quiet with lots of great touches!

    Jennifer2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! The house was spotless and Morgan was able to get us in earlier than we expected. Thank you again for your amazing hospitality!

    Kase2020-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find! So many nice touches.... a supply of basic kitchen baking ingredients, a basket of dog toys, cute throws, lovely bench on the front porch, zip lock bags, great hand and dish soaps, shampoo/conditioner/body wash .... we were very comfortable on our road trip to bring our college girl home. Only downside was Yaks on the 5 was closed due to COVID so no chicken wings.... anyone reading this.... do yourself a favor and eat there!!!!

    Mary2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Morgan is a great host. Dunsmuir is super fun. Perfect place right next to a cute pizza place. The house has a really nice kitchen. The wifi was also really fast for a smaller town which was really nice.

Our place is close to family-friendly activities and nightlife. Great hunting spots close by. Lakes and reservoirs close by. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space and the ambiance. inside is totally remodeled. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids) and animals! We just finished remodeling the inside. It is a two bedroom with a queen bed in each room with goose down bed toppers. Front yard is a work in progress.
Inside was just totally remodeled. There is now basic cable Wifi and DVD's. We also have some board games. We have a washer and dryer for you to use in the laundry room. We also have a single cot.
The neighborhood is pretty quiet. It is right in downtown. There is a train station close by so you will hear train horns once in while. There is also a train museum too!
  • Everything was as described. I was only there for one night, but everything was perfect for me and my two dogs.

    Courtney2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home located within walking distance to all kinds of lovely Dunsmiur places like the Wheelhouse! We found the queen bed with feather topper super comfy!

  • This cute little house has a great location (about1-2 blocks away from the downtown strip). It was about 15-20 minutes away from Mt Shasta Ski Park as well. The house has a nice kitchen, great wifi and comfy mattresses.

  • This is a hidden charm!! Located in quaint a dunsmir, just a hop and a skip to Shasta is this beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath Newley remodeled home. Both beds were incredibly comfy. There was heat and additional heat in each room. The kitchen is beautiful and well equipped. I loved the hot water heater for coffee. All the basics were provided and then some (extra plastic ziplocks, even body wash! Keli responses instantly with helping us when we needed. Excellent host, great communication and great location. Just off the highway, walking distance to the brewery and dog friendly. If couldn’t have been a better trip! Thank you!!

  • Katya and Tiger Lillie's house was truly a warm and welcoming place, and the pictures simply do not do the space justice. The bedroom is really a cozy fluffy place, and the rest of the house was spotlessly clean, warm, inviting, and the perfect place to land while exploring the Mountain. You couldn't ask for a better location! Katya was a pleasure to spend time with, she even invited us to one of her concerts, and another local event, which we attended and got to experience the local community - which we loved! Its a very small town, and it appears there is not a lot going on, so we felt very fortunate to have Katya as a guide to help connect us in. She is also very giving with her knowledge on all the special places around the mountain! There is no question about it, we will be back the next time we visit Shasta! Thank you Katya 🙏

    Alyssa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katya's place is very nice, cozy, with unique decor. Katya is very welcoming and helpful about learning about Shasta, where to go, what to do, etc. Glad I stayed there.

    Ria2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Katya was a great host. Super friendly and gave us great tips to visit the area. We enjoyed very much our stay at her place. We highly recommend it. :) Thanks Katya

  • Had a lovely stay at Katya's place. The room was spotless and comfortable while centrally located. Katya is a charming host and I appreciated the little details she shared on things to enjoy in Mt Shasta. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Mt. Shasta with an excellent host then this is your place..

1600 square foot "great" room Living Rm, full kitchen 2 bedrooms, 1 bath on 3.5 acres. This is a quest house on the property. View of Mount Shasta
Property on a very quiet street with only 2 other families on the street.
Very quiet street with only 4 homes on the whole block.
  • Great space! Clean, full stocked with kitchen supplies, extra blankets everything you could need in a home away from home. Check in was a breeze and communication with Karen was very easy and she was always quick to respond. The location was also very convenient. Minutes to I-5 and close to coffee shops and food. The walking trails behind the house were also a really nice treat. Highly recommend staying!

    Mike & Krystle2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really nice open space. The living room is nice and big, and the kitchen was great to be able to use. There are nice views and it feels secluded, but it's also really close to town and the interstate. There is a relaxing path through the Madrones behind the cabin, and access to numerous hiking trails close by. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Great price. Things to consider: The only bathroom is attached to one of the bedrooms. Something to consider if you want more privacy.

    Thad N Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was straight out of our dreams. Can’t beat the view in the backyard of the mountain and black butte. The cookware was high quality with cast iron pans and wooden cutting boards. Open floor plan allowed us to enjoy lounging in the morning and my son loved exploring the fairy and gnome villages on the trails in the back yard. We also enjoyed walking around the quite roads of the neighborhood. Will definitely come back to stay again!

    Cait2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I passed by Mt Shasta many times, this time staying at Karen's made a huge difference. The place is spacious and homy, Karen provided everything one would need, either for short-term or long-term stays. The property in the backdrop of the snow capped mountains is very pleasant to walk in. Karen is warm and attentive, prompt at answering questions. I wish I could stay longer and already look forward to my next stay. Thank you, Karen!

  • Great, secluded location but close enough to town for an easy dinner! Amazing stars at night!

    Marlena2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. It’s right at the base of Mt Shasta complete with views, easy access, backyard trails, and a patio! Very large open space great for cabin style puzzles and games and easy to cook in. Great value! The only downside is there is only one bathroom located in the master bedroom, so anyone sleeping in the second bedroom has to disturb others to use it. Worth the inconvenience!

Our house is conveniently located on a quiet road in downtown Mt Shasta City, one block east of Mt Shasta Blvd. A short walk will get you to all that the city offers - with its fabulous food, cute boutiques, and outdoor stores. It is the perfect place to do nothing and just relax - kick back in the lounge or on the front porch and soak up the breathtaking view and energy of Mt Shasta, or wander across the road onto the walkway that crosses Sisson Meadow, a nature reserve.
This charming cozy place is directly across the Sisson meadow with amazing view of Mt Shasta and surrounding. Take a leisure walk right from the front door to spectacular views and peace. This quiet place is also less than two blocks from down town, making shopping and dining an enjoyable easy walk. Guests have access to the living/dining room and kitchen, as well as the front deck with outdoor seating, from which you can soak up the views of Mt Shasta! This place, your home away from home, offers beautiful nature, convenience and comfort. There are plenty of parking spaces on the street.
Book yourself onto a local kayak or mountaineering course, or a guided meditation and exploration of the Sacred Mountain's metaphysical powers. Mt Shasta City is also a perfect jumping off point for Mt Shasta Ski Park, Lava Beds National Monument, McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges and Modoc National Forest.
  • Great hospitality next to the magic mountain. Grace was so nice, like visiting an aunt in the mountains. Would come back again!

  • We stayed here with my 8 years old daughter. This place is really clean and Grace was very kind and friendly. Also there is such an amazing view to mountain, we have the best spot for meditating and walking just across the road. Highly recommend this place, full of love and care.

  • Grace's house is wonderfully located, direct views to Mount Shasta and right in the middle of the city. Everything is spotless clean and the bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is well equiped with everything one could wish for. Though Grace and me didn't find time for a talk, communication with her was swift and easy, I am shure she is a very friendly and kind person! Thank you Grace!

  • Super cozy and well kept place. Great place to stay if your snowboarding/skiing in Shasta .

  • Walt and Missi are wonderful hosts. Communication was fast and thorough. Checking In to checking out was all very easy and explained well. The place was clean, cozy, and nicely furnished and decorated. They have a ton of family games to keep you and your littles occupied. There's a washer and dryer on site, which was helpful with kids. There's wall heaters and space heaters, if needed. We loved the wood stove, especially after a full day at the ski park. The pictures of this place do not do it justice.. it's a truly beautiful home with a lot of history. The home is also within walking distance to the downtown area and a short drive to the ski park.

The Art Studio is a rustic private space originally used as a creative art making studio that sits at the back of a small 5 acre ranch property with horses, a dog, cats, etc. It features a large lofted main room with comfy furniture, a large wall television, and through the main windows are beautiful views of the Eddies and Castle Lake area. Located south of town in an area that was originally used to grow food for the city of Mt. Shasta, back in the 1800's.
Parking is on a dirt lot in front of the studio. The studio itself is very clean and full of original artworks. The floors are painted concrete covered with throw and area rugs. There are basic kitchen items like dishes, utensils, a microwave, toaster, refrigerator, and coffee machine. Basic breakfast items like coffee, tea, and some snacky foods will be provided. The space is heated with space heaters and passive solar. All walls including interior walls are insulated as is the attic. It is a cozy and comfortable space. There is a seasonal creek to the back that should be avoided. It's very attractive to kids, but not actually a great play space.
This property is located in an adventure rich area of Mt. Shasta. It is near an old town that was located on the Sacramento river called Azalea. World class fly fishing is found there. The river is only a mile and a half to the south.
  • Great spot close to town! Beautiful views of distant mountains and horse pasture. The dwelling is clean and modern. Nice artistic touches, extra towels & blankets. Big living room space and nice little kitchenette for travelers. The parking area is dirt and this is the country, so as long as you are prepared for that, it's awesome! There is noise from the trains passing by, but anywhere you stay in Shasta or Dunsmuir you will hear that.

    Marie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thoughtful, lovely space. Nice and warm, cozy and private.

    Hilary2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sean’s art studio was awesome! Aside from the space being so stylishly decorated (makes sense, “art” studio, duh!), Sean offered a personal touch with leaving a handwritten note for us, a binder with tips on the studio, a few snacks/drinks, sufficient towels & blankets, and books for our visual enjoyment! The place was very cozy and clean! Check in & check out was super easy, and Sean was incredibly responsive! I was concerned that it was going to be cold, since the house has like concrete-ish flooring, but the space heaters provided did a great job, I was pleasantly surprised :) We wish we would’ve had more time to stay but our one night was very much enjoyed and we would absolutely recommend this place!

    Lily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sean’s studio was so cute and had the most stellar Mountain View’s in the morning! It was the perfect half way point for my boyfriend and I to meet on short notice! We both really enjoyed our stay and time in Mt. Shasta. The studio was very calm and serine and provided a great place to unwind & regroup from jet lag! Definitely recommend this for anyone wanting a getaway from the hustle and bustle! P.s. I would note that it is best to try to arrive before dark as we both drove past the entrance to his lot a few times. Due to the darkness and not his directions :)

  • I've stayed at a lot of airbnb when I quit my job to travel for 2 years, and this by far was the best! Hidden gem and great value! I will 100% be back again! - Great location close to the city - 5 min drive away from town - Beautiful property hidden amongst the trees with picturesque nature and animals outside. - Sparkling clean - Great design aesthetic furnished with lots of thoughtful details like high ceilings, art books, beautiful art pieces, home goods, and kitchen items, phone chargers, and other little surprises. - Extremely responsive, kind, generous, and helpful host. The place was clearly created and built with love and trust. Hope future travelers will continue to respect this magical space to keep the love and trust going! <3 Thanks so much Sean!!

  • Sean is a top notch host on all fronts. He is a great communicator and provided excellent recommendations on local food and fun. The Art Studio was clean, fully equipped, and even boasted a little extra. The location is ideal: nestled in the woods, and still close to town. Would highly recommend to anybody visiting Mt. Shasta!

Here you will find many beautiful homes and manicured gardens, tall pines, cedars, Japanese Maples, dogwoods, oaks and fruit trees. Quiet and very safe but only a short drive from the region's main natural landmarks.
  • Benjamin’s place is the perfect getaway! The room is very clean, spacious and they greeted us with delicious little snacks. They are experts in hospitality because not only do they receive you with warm treats but also toiletries you may have forgotten. The place is amazing because it’s close enough to the restaurants and things you may need in town, but also away enough to have your own space. In their backyard there is a small hiking path with a river!! It’s the most gorgeous place while being in the nature!! If we come back we will most definitely be staying here again!

    Vanessa2020-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • It’s such a lovely spot filled with good vibes. The room looked even better than the photos. Plenty of space to move around. I put my mat down and did some yoga and I felt like I was in a private spa. But back to the place. It was a magical oasis and stunning views were within walking distance. To add, Benjamin was quick to respond and left some delicious complimentary chocolate which made my day after a long drive:)

    Nicole2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was more than great. So clean, easy parking, beautiful backyard—a good space to heal in Shasta.

    Patrick2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super cute and perfect for the weekend trip we went on. We forgot body wash but they leave a lot of amenities and things are provided in the room if you are forgetful like me. So we used the body wash that they were thoughtful enough to provide. Ben is very fast at responding and does whatever he can to make your stay comfortable. The room was perfect, and was super cute, it was also very clean. The location is very close to Shasta in-town as well. We had an awesome stay, I recommend this place highly if you are coming to Shasta for a little while.

    Leilua2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I was in the area specifically to look at homes to rent or buy and I needed a place that was quiet, super clean, and private. Benjamin was exceptionally responsive and accommodating, and it was much better than I expected with its attention to detail and extra touches. And it was clean. Really clean, not just maintained as so many tend to become. I would recommend staying here to my mother and close friends, so yes, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Petalyn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay. It was really nice to come and to relax and clear my mind. Benjamin was really really kind in many ways. I’m thankful. I hope to come again.

    Kanoa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Place completely renovated. Very very clean. Very warm and welcoming. House is next to the woods and a short walk to a creek. Just a 5 short minutes drive into Shasta. In room heating is superb. Everything is very easy to access and use. Bed was extremely comfortable as everything else. The hosts, Benjamin and Vivika, are truly very warm and very helpful. I could see that a ton of effort and sensitive touch was put into making their place a great spot for airbnb seekers in this spiritual wonder called Mt. Shasta. • It was a huge pleasure to meet both Benjamin and Vivica and receive their kindness and generosity. They are both dog lovers and helped our dog babies feel welcome in their home. Their dog, Athena, is a great addition to a lovely stay, and Vivica was incredible to show us around and also offer us the privacy of exploring on our own if we so desired. Both hosts are kind and fun and they even took us out for New Year’s at the local dance hall. The common space provided musical instruments we could play, and the other guest was extra sweet, and equally grateful. Both hosts unexpectedly made us a roast on NYE, which blew my partner and I out of the water. So much love in this home, surrounded by peace and beauty. Excited to return!

Peaceful, and lovely, the cottage sits on 3 1/2 acres amid organic gardens, woods, wetlands, pond and rushing mountain creek. Filtered views of Mt Shasta, 2 miles to downtown; close to amazing lakes, trails, waterfalls and mineral springs. Designed for quiet adults coming to the area for retreats, or to explore natural wonders & sacred sites, (no partiers or smokers). Chemical and scent free. Comfy, beautifully furnished, organic linens and toiletries. Private fenced garden area. Sweet & clean!
The Garden Cottage is a magical, cozy, stand-alone cottage that sits on the edge of the pasture, pond and gardens on a budding permaculture property. It is ideal for a single traveler or a couple sharing the Queen-sized bed. Appropriate for quiet, peaceful travelers who are coming to the area for retreats, to immerse themselves in nature, experience the energy of the mountain, and get away from city life. (We are not designed for travelers with children or pets, more than two adults, or partiers. This is a non-smoking property inside and outside. Prefer non (or very light) drinkers. ) It's the best of both worlds being just a short drive to downtown and yet completely off the beaten path, for a deeply restful and restorative stay. Rooms include a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, walk-thru closet, living room/kitchen combo and ensuite bathroom, (a curtain separates it from the living areas, rather than a door). The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. Kitchen includes mini-fridge, sink, and stove with oven. Full set of kitchen ware (dishes, silverware, pots, pans, blender, toaster, bakeware) provided for your convenience. For your comfort, the cottage has heat, A/C, and a mattress-pad heater for chilly nights. Your outside space includes a fenced private garden sitting area complete with outdoor table and chairs, garden bench, and a double hammock, which is incredible for star gazing after dark when weather permits. Sit outside and watch the mountain turn pink at sunset, (or watch from your bed through the window). At any given time in or around the pasture/meadow area, you may see a family of wild geese (they come every year to raise their goslings), deer, bald eagles, red tail hawks, osprey, blue heron, and many other bird species. Especially in summer months, the bird-song and bird watching is amazing. Occasionally we have mini-horses in the pasture too. The owner's home and a second Airbnb cottage are also located on the property, but each dwelling has its own completely private yard for seclusion. We're close by if you need anything, but we give you your space and privacy during your stay. Wifi provided, but this is a great place to unplug if you can! No TV. Cell service is great here, at least for Verizon and AT&T. There's a parking spot for your car next to the cottage. Even though we're just a couple of miles from downtown, you'll want to have a car if you are staying here because we're in a very rural location on the edge of a mountain wilderness.
Peaceful, quiet, rural, countryside. The property is on the edge of wilderness, yet only a five minute drive to downtown Mount Shasta. Very dark and quiet at night, and you can usually see millions of stars from the cottage porch. If you love nature, and you're seeking a clean, classy, comfortable and private space within a short drive to all of the magical sacred sites around Mount Shasta, you'll love it here. If you're coming for a workshop or retreat, you'll feel very nurtured by the energy of this property.
  • Great place. Clean, comfortable and extra added thoughtful touches were made. Private garden, great spot to see the stars and you can hear the nearby creek. It was peaceful and felt very welcoming! I will stay there again.

  • The Garden Cottage became was a warm and cozy haven, with everything we needed, during the coldest part of the year! On a clear day Mt Shasta was visible right outside our door!! We awoke on Xmas morning to a blanket of white snow on the surrounding fields and trees, with the sound of the rushing creek nearby. Sylvia invited us (and another visitor staying in the adjacent rental on the property) into her home for Xmas brunch. It was a totally unexpected and delightful experience. So many activities and natural beauty to explore in the area---gorgeous lakes, waterfalls and grottoes; abundant wildlife and nature everywhere. An otherworldly and unforgettable experience! Highly recommended.

  • Great find! The cabin stayed nice and cozy even in the cold weather and was clean and well maintained. Sylvia had great recommendations for local food and destinations, and provided a relaxing place to escape from the real world for a few days. Surrounding area is gorgeous and peaceful, would definitely visit again.

The quaint neighborhood is very quiet. All of us really enjoyed or stay and would book this house again. It is a reasonable price for what you get.

This classic mill home near the park in McCloud offers a peaceful place to unplug & relax. This home is filled with antique furniture and has the charm of yesteryear but with modern comforts. This home offers large front and back porches for relaxing, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a large open living room and a well appointed kitchen. There is no TV set or WiFi here, but most cell carriers have great service so you can stay connected if you wish.
Please note that this home does not have a Television set or WiFi. Most major cell providers have great service in McCloud. This is a cozy 2 bedroom/1 bathroom home that has been nicely updated while keeping the original charm of the 1920's style. Most of the furniture pieces are antiques so please treat them with care and respect. There is a horseshoe pit in the front yard for your entertainment. Parking is at the rear of the house - either in the garage or across the alley. Please do not park on the street during your stay. Unfortunately this home is not suitable for guests under 12 years old and we do not allow pets here.
This quaint and quiet neighborhood is just down the street from the town's HooHoo Park which offers stunning vistas of Mt Shasta as well as playgrounds and picnic areas.
  • This place was so much more than we expected! We are 3 Airbnb super hosts on a Fall Colors getaway and we were wowed by the many thoughtful amenities and ambiance of this mountain retreat. It’s completely renovated with fresh paint, beautifully restored original wood floors and kitchen cabinets, new blinds, new appliances and heater, fresh new linens and quilts, electric blankets and super comfy mattresses, a well-stocked kitchen, antiques decor that lend to the history of this old railroad/timber town. The home is full of craftsman touches — complete with bookcases and a custom living room ceiling. The guest rooms are large and the kitchen and living room are spacious. We felt instantly comfortable and “at home” with the pillows and warm throws on the couch and recliner chair. This place is a jewel!

A beautiful view of Mt. Shasta awaits you. Also you can enjoy a sunset view from a private deck of the Cozy. Your space is thoroughly sanitized and disinfected . Jacuzzi tub, Full kitchen, Queen size bed, A TV that only plays dvd with several dvd's to select from A quite neighborhood above town on the way up to Mt Shasta. Panoramic view from this upstairs apartment with a private deck entrance.
  • When I first walked into this apartment I was just struck by the simplicity and the beauty and the comfort. This was not fancy or expensive In design or build. It was just the way I like it simple and functional and quiet. All of this while being situated at the base of Mount Shasta in California.

    Christopher2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic experience! The Cozy is just as described nestled privately in a residential area not far from everything you need in town. I opted for a massage which was unlike any other I’ve had. Fred uses a tuning fork, a Tibetan singing bowl and even a Digerido. It was professional and certainly a wonderful experience. The jacuzzi bath is deep and has incredible views. Mary and Fred are the type of hosts that you won’t even notice are on the property unless you have a need to be met. Privacy 100%. We recommend checking out Sparky’s for food and drink. Pam manages there and her spunky personality is right up there w the quality of food. There is also a local tamale vendor who we will definitely visit again, and of course the best gem shop around: Soul Connections. All in all, Fred and Mary assisted in a most magical weekend in Mt. Shasta!

    Stevie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Sparkling clean, super close to the mountain. Fred and Mary were so kind.

    Monica2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot with a great view! Perfect for a couple. Next time we'll bring waffle mix for the waffle iron!

    Mark2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little place for a solo getaway - although the Cozy Suite can definitely accommodate two people who don't mind sharing intimate space together. I slept through the night uninterrupted, and that rarely ever happens to me. Had one of the best sleeps! What a treat! I love that Fred and Mary provide organic pantry items and eco-friendly, unscented or lightly scented cleaning and beauty products. For someone like me with a lot of sensitivities, it is a peaceful haven and healing sanctuary - a reprieve for my senses! The view of Mount Shasta from the window right above the bed is amazing, and the view the other direction from the dining area and the little deck you can step out on is equally beautiful and serene.  The Cozy Suite is quiet, clean, calm, private, and Fred and Mary have provided everything you might need for your visit. Their communication is prompt, warm, and welcoming. I stayed with them once before a couple of years ago and was happy to see their place was available when I came back to town.  Highly recommend the Cozy Suite!

    Angie2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space, great views! Close to headwaters. Fred and Mary were great hosts.

    Dana2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cold weather and snow made this little studio so much more beautiful, and quaint for my boyfriend and I. We ended up buying groceries from the markets in town and cooked our own meals for a cheaper stay with some romantic vibes. The jacuzzi was exactly what I needed after my finals in college. A great place to relax and enjoy the view. Loved it, and definitely worth the price.

    Brianna2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A well equipped kitchen made for a very cozy evening creating a lovely dinner and then enjoying ice cream in the jacuzzi! We woke up to almost 1 foot of snow in the morning! (and well shoveled stairs!) Great location at the base of the mountain.

There is a neighborhood park behind the house just requires adult supervision. Mount Shasta has so many other beautiful things to offer like hikes and site seeing but these sites are not with in walking distance.
  • Alyssa’s home was perfect for our stay. We were visiting with our older son and grandkids. Our youngest son attends College of the Siskiyous so the location of the home was great, only a short 10 minute drive. The home itself was great. We invited a few of my sons classmates over to dinner for home cooked meals. It was wonderful having a kitchen. The housekeeper was still cleaning when we arrived at 5pm but she was super sweet and the house was sparking clean, so we didn’t mind. We even invited her for dinner. There was a lot of little shops and restaurants nearby. We went sledding in the snow and fishing in a lake on another day. Both players were a short drive away.

  • Very clean and nicely decorated! Playground around the corner if you have little kiddos. Great location close to slopes and downtown. Highly recommend!

  • Nice quiet location quite close to downtown. Obvious that some tlc has been used to decorate and I really enjoyed the little touches. Quite comfortable temperature with space heaters as needed. I’d return another day.. thanks for the great hospitality!

    Terri2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a 2 story duplex, yet you wouldn't even know it. The living room, dining room & kitchen is one large open space yet was comfortable/cozy enough for a group of seven. The kitchen has everything you would need like wine bottle opener & tea pot. The upstairs bathrooms are spacious with great showerhead & simply organized. The upstairs rooms were large, and the downstairs room with a full bed fit the bed with a bit of extra space. Plenty of warm blankets. There was snow so we did not enjoy the large balcony area. Definitely reccomend this place & would reserve place again.

    Diana2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for this very cosy and comfortable home. Very responsive host made the whole experience a breeze. Highly recommended.

    Laetitia2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Alyssa’s place by myself but this is a perfect spot for a casual and quiet gathering. Plenty of space and at least one comfy bed (I am not Goldilocks), with enough equipment in the kitchen to make your own food. Communication was swift and check in instructions were clear. Off street parking under a car port are a plus for the snowy winter months. I’d Recommend this spot for your Shasta adventures!
