It was a cost-effective stay, pretty good room with tatami bed, quite clean bathroom and restroom for a quite unexpensive fee. It is a very residential and calm area.

Yayoi was a greta host. Her appartment is vry well placed, near Yamanote Line. Very clean and very convenient house, I recommand this place if you have to go to Tokyo. Thank you again Yayoi! Hope to see you soon.

This place was such a delight to stay at. The hosts are friendly, it's a nice atmosphere, very clean and there's easy communication. It's a short walk to the Yamanote line, where you can reach a lot of hot spots. If you can nab this place for your stay, I would recommend it!

Overall a nice and clean place to stay. Good neighborhood and very near to Ikebukuro and various sightseeing locations. Host is friendly and understanding. Had a comfortable stay throughout the whole period as yayoi had made great efforts in coordination, that i need not move rooms on last day.

Yayoi's house is the perfect stay for first time visitors of Japan/ Tokyo/ Toshima. It is located in a typical japanese residential area of Mejiro, away from heavy traffic and crowded touristic atractions but close enough to Yamanote line which will take you almost anywhere.

Yayoi was very welcoming and I had a lovely stay. The apartment is extremely convenient for getting around Tokyo and very comfortable as all the essentials are provided. Yayoi was very prepared and gives you all the information you need to arrive at her home safely, and was very kind to recommend places to visit. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

Yayoi and Andrew are such great personalities! Both were so kind and helpful and I really enjoyed my stay. Their house is beautiful and clean. It is located in a quiet neighborhood only a few minutes away from the busy city. Shops and restaurants are just around the corner. I also got to meet the other guests which was great. This place was by far my favorite on my Japan trip and I would gladly come again :)

Great apartment, clean and looking good, quiet neighborhood, close to transportation stations, supermarkets, restaurants. Tetsuro responds quickly to any inquiries and self check-in system is very easy (and well explained in the welcome guide). Portable wi-fi is very fast and also has a chargimg port for your mobile phone. I would totally recommend Tetsuro apartment for sraying in Tokyo.

I have been using Airbnb for a while now, but I must say that so far, I was most wowed by Tetsu-san's place. Everything was perfectly clean, and anything you could possibly need is provided. The place being so close to both Ikebukuro and Mejiro is also really convenient, and you've got a 7-11 just 2 minutes away for maximal convenience. I can't recommend this place enough!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Clean, cute apartment not too far from the train station and there's a great shrine nearby that I enjoyed as well. Excellent communication, thank you for letting me stay here!

A great place and value for money. Food is easy to find and train stations are nearby as well therefore very convenient! Communication was hassle free and easy, Tetsuro and Kasha were very helpful. Will definitely recommend this place to others!

Eri was very accommodating and answered promptly whenever I had a question. The apartment was very accurate and close to the station. Best of part of was the free amenities!

Eri was a great host.. Her apartment was extremely clean and spacious. The neighborhood was very quiet and comfortable. The location is very close to Ikebukuro station with many stores within a short walk.

Ms.Eri is a very good host and is always concern for the safety of her guests because when we stayed there was 1 episode of an earthquake... Her place is hihly recommendable for 1st timers who want to go arojnd tokyo because the ikeburuko station is so convenient with so many lines present.

Eri has a wonderful and cozy apartment conveniently located in Ikebukuro. JR Line and Metro are very near from apartment. And the apartment is so large and very clean and many amenities included (especially mobile wifi , mineral water and snacks ) The applianced kitchen has many condiment. So I cooked my meal :) And there are Sushi bar and Japanese Ramen restaurant very closed to the apartment. The apartment was very easy to find with a step by step guide Eri made. So I can't miss it. She was also very quick on replies if I had any questions. I recommend Eri's room :) Great stay !!

We had a great stay at Eri's place. She has a great personality, and very easy to be contacted. The apartment is very close to the station, and exactly as described on airbnb. We hope to come back for our next stay. Strongly recommend to everyone;D

The room is clean and location is convenient, just 8 minutes walk from the JR station, and there are restaurants, shops, department store, supermarket nearby. If there is cooking stove and pan available for cooking, it will be more perfect. It doesn't matter, there are microwave oven and hot water pot available. Recommend to reserve the room. Thanks 千佳 !

Probably the best place to stay in Ikebukuro, close to the stations, shops, restaurants and anything you want at the end of the day after exploring what Tokyo has to offer! Good communication and what you see in the picture is what you get! Will definitely come back soon!

10 mins walk from Seibu Ikebukuro station, this place is perfect for us, who spent times in Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ginza, Ikebukuro. The place has everything we need. I just wish there is a washer/dryer machines in the unit. But overall, it's a great experience. The host is very helpful too! Thank you :)

We stayed only two days at emmas house because of the other recommendations but we had not such a nice stay at her house. Sadly many things went wrong and also we had to rush at the check out and forget stuff that we bought one day before, it weren't found from the cleaner but actually they took it or throw it away, what is really sad. Outside are constructions and we woke up around 6/7 am because it was so loud that we couldn't sleep anymore. The build a new house. If you want to sleep longer than 6/7 you should think about it, because it will take 3 month more until they finish.

The house is exactly the same with the pictures, it's perfect for 3-4 travellers to stay. Everything is new and I'll stay here again.

Quiet, cosy, close to public transport (bus & train). Family mart within 7 minutes of walking (a straight line). Bread stores and a lot of food stores down the street if you continue walking. (Coco Ichibanya , KFC , Family Mart etc). Easy check in & out. Good room & service, stay here if you want easy access to stations & your apartment for a value for price!

Was overall a great place to stay. Provided a WIFI egg, which was a pretty great plus. Extra blankets and pillows available with a TV. Enough living space/bedroom space to live comfortably for a trip.

Yo's place was great and exactly as advertised. The location is fairly convenient and close to a centralized subway station. The directions from the subway to the airbnb are also very straightforward and easy to understand.

We loved Japan, and Yo's place was very nice. You have local convenient stores around, close restaurants to eat. The train station is in walking distance and they help you to get where you want. Yo's place is detailed and easy to use. We recommend anyone first time to Japan to stay here!

아주 깨끗하고 좋습니다. 3명이 썼는데 넓이도 딱 좋습니다. 저희는 도쿄메트로 3일권을 끊어서 메지로역이 아니라 조시가야역을 이용했는데 아주 가깝습니다. 만족한 숙소였습니다.

Très bel appartement situé dans un quartier calme et résidentiel; non loin des quartiers animés; point de départ de belles promenades, commerces, université et jardin à proximité. Transport pas très loin. ( métro et train circulaire (JR Line) à 7mn environ, bus à 100m). Je recommande volontiers cet hébergement pour 3/4 personnes car 2 lits d'1m20 et un clic-clac idem; manque de rangement (juste une penderie avec une étagère) et l'ajout de quelques ustensiles de cuisine ne serait pas du superflu (plat allant au micro-onde, saladier, passoire).

Très bel appartement, situé à 2 minute de la gare qui dessert les grands axes tels que Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara. Vous trouverez près de la gare une boulangerie avec de bon croissants, ainsi que de bon petit restaurants. L'appartement est très bien équipé, disposant d'un balcon. Situé dans un quartier calme, vous serez tranquille, d'autant plus qu'il y a un commissariat à 20 mètres. Je tiens à remercier notre hôte, qui a repondu a toute nos questions et très rapidement.

Minami's place was extremely clean, comfortable, and very modern to boot. With its location just five minutes of fast walking away from the Yamanote Line and at least two convenience stores that I know of close by, it made for a great base from which to explore Tokyo. It is a great spot for those who want to stay in a quieter area but still have easy access to the rest of Tokyo when going out! Communication with Minami was quick and easy as well!

Minami's house is really cozy and clean and she's really nice and quickly response all my question. The location also easy to reach and close to JR/Metro stations.

Minami's apartment is very easy to reach, also thanks to the simple guid with pictures of every turn she send me. The nearest station is Mejiro, but also Ikkebukuro is not too far for relaxed walking. The pictures of her apartment are super accurate and everything was well maintained and clean. On my next trip to Tokyo I definitely will check out if her apartment is available. Thanks Minami for a nice time at your place.

Lovely room, we really had a good time during our stay here. Clean and tidy, almost everything we need is ready in the room. Helpful portable wifi kept me online. Good location with metro and convienient stores in a walkable distance. I will recommend it to my friends if any of them are coming to Tokyo. The place was cute and efficient. The bed is small and not comfortable. If you're sleeping 2 people you're going to be crammed. But minami was efficient in making sure check in was smooth and easy. The location is about 10-15 min walk from mejiro station. Not bad. The place was very clean.

Host was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Location was quieter than expected, given the proximity to Ikebukuro train station. Plentiful storage/cupboard space for clothes etc.

I stayed at 富子's flat during 23 July to 26 July 2016. The apartment has the perfect location and is only in 3 minutes walking distance away from JR Ikebukuro Station. There is a Familymart convenient store right next to the building's entrance. The famous Ramen 無敵家Mutekiya was just across the road. Muji and Seibu are in 1 minute walking distance. A Starbucks is also located just opposite the road. The room is clean and tidy. The apartment was located on the second floor and its easy to access even if we choose to walk up the stairs. Towels are clean. Body wash gel, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer and waterboiler are available. Fridge and stove are also available for our use which is a surprise and not much BnB would allow cooking in their homes. Landlord is responsive to messages on Airbnb and are helpful with our enquiries. I would like to recommend this apartment to other travellers who would like to stay in Ikebukuro.

Awesome place! Very clean and comfortable. Located near to the train station, just a few minutes walk and it's very easy to locate the place. It is also located next to a huge book shop (my favorite place in the world). Highly recommended for other travellers.

Tomiko's place was alright but wasn't the biggest we'd stayed in Japan. Pros - Extremely close to Ikebukuro train station. - Amenities very close. Family Mart is downstairs, Starbucks about 100m away. - Plenty of eateries around. Cons - When we opened the door for the first time, a cocktoach was running around. Not the sight you'd want to see in a clean apartment. Had a bit of phobia after that, but no biggies. - Bathroom is extremely small and a bit dated. - The place is part of an office apt so people walking and talking outside would disturb your sleep if you're a light sleeper. Do note that Tomiko is Chinese and not Japanese. So you'd probably get a faster response if you converse in Chinese. She takes some time in responding so be sure to contact her early to avoid last minute stress. Just fyi, there is a washing machine and dryer. It's coin operated and located outside next to the apartment. The box in space opposite the toilet is the water heater (very useful info if you're gonna visit in winter, you really don't want to shower in 37 degree water)

The room was just ok and it's in a office building, it's near to ikebukuro station, and surrounding have lots of stuff to explore (e.g. Shopping area, ramen, sushi, BBQ restaurant, convenience store like family mart, Lawson, 7-11 tax free), was easy to access anywhere here, overall was good.

so glad that stay in this apartment is so near and easy ...alot of food and just right below is a family mart...but sometimes host respond a bit slow...when we already confirm and pay all money...overall ok

The location is very convenient. Eateries and shopping centre everywhere. Perhaps the host might mistaken we have only 2 pax? I have booked for 4 pax but seems everything was prepared for two sets only.

All is so good, Miyuki is so helpful, gives very fast response to all query, house is so clean , good enough for 4 people , loved our stay with family , all kitchen stuff is there very near to shiinamachi subway.

The stay was great and location is very convenient. Direction given by Miyuki-san is very helpful and accurate to locate the apartment. We arrived on Nov 24th and it was first day of snow. It will be good to have additional heating equipment as the living room is cold to sit in during cold season.

Sanae-san was kind enough to meet me at the apartment and gave a brief tour of the apartment. The location is good, about 10 minutes from Ikebukuro station and in a quiet area. There is also a few convenient stores nearby so you can never go hungry. The apartment itself is cozy and everything you need is there. Thanks for letting me stay!

Sanae was very good with communications. Very clear and thorough instructions on how to get to the apartment. Location was great! Everything in the apartment was just as shown in pictures, so no surprises. I was traveling by myself and it was good for just me.

The host's Sister waited right at the apartment at the agreed check in time so check in was a Breeze. The apartment is in Ikebukuro area and a 10 mins walk from Ikebukuro station. It is a very small apartment suitable for at most 2 pax and the toilet is very small. It would be good if there is more space to put things in the toilet. Just a note that I think the apartment would not be suitable for light sleeper. It is facing the road and the noise of the cars passing by can be quite a disturbance so if you are a light sleeper may not be able to sleep very well. Other than this, it is very cosy and there ar convenience stores and supermarket just beside and opposite so you will not be afraid to go hungry. Ikebukuro itself has many shops and shopping Malls so it is conveniently located.

Sanae and her sister are nice and very friendly. They are super flexible and let me drop the luggages earlier than the checkin time. Place is nice and cozy, fit in 2 people. I will recommend other to live in Sanea apartment.

It was my first time to Japan, and Sanae was fantastic in answering all my questions even before my arrival. I received an email from her a day prior to my arrival to let me know someone will meet us once we arrived, and I know for a fact that my friend who also booked a place w airbnb did not receive notice from her host. The instructions were perfect-we had no problem finding the apt. The apt itself was a little smaller than expected. If you are taller than 5'5" it may be a bit of a squeeze in the bathroom. As well some noise from the streets came inside. Otherwise everything was exactly as expected! The location of the apt was great-5-10min walk to Ikebukuro stn which has many connecting trains, a 24hr store is right there also with lots of late night activities. The apt however was far enough away that you do not hear the nightlife but still felt safe walking home. If i am lucky enough to return to Tokyo, i would definitely look for Sanae to see if she has availabilities for me! Thanks again for everything!

Host's sister patiently waited for our arrival despite our slight delay. Host provided a very detailed instructions and map to her property. Much appreciated with her patience for my multiple queries and fast response. This property is situated approx. 10mins walking distance from Ikebukuro station and Mejiro station. It was in a quiet neighbourhood where there are two 24-hours supermarket, two convenience shops and one pharmacy nearby. We were spoilt for choice with the multiple eateries within walking distance. There are some hidden izakaya behind this property. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. By the way, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map rocks in this city! Works much better than their subway app. Just key in your destination and there were various transport mode options with prices. So, do remember to bring your portable wifi and battery [to recharge] with you.

The place is right at the center of Ikebukuro. It's just a few minutes away from JR/subway station. The stay is comfortable and cozy and it's definitely a good choice for 2 person. The host is friendly and the guide provided on how to search the location is quite detailed with pictures. Lots of food nearby as well and it's just a few minutes away from Mutekiya ramen (which is quite popular and needs to queue quite long for it).

The room is prefect, nice design, clean, convenience and the host provided full range of amenities. However, one important thing to note that the apartment locates right next to the railway and trains operate from 5am to 1am everyday so don't recommend if you require a quiet environment for rest (not able to get enough sleep is definitely not the purpose of my trip).

Firstly, Thank you Take and Chie! We had a lovely stay at your place and it was better than what you see on the pictures provided. We couldn't have asked for more. The place is not far from the Metro and JR line entrance and on the way, you have an abundance of restaurant to eat at. The conbini (7-11 & Family Mart) are just a short walk away. We loved the welcome snacks you provided for us. Even hunt down and bought some for our omiyage (souvenir) to take back. :) The hosts are both lovely and replies promptly and as quick as they can. Nothing was left unanswered and they are very friendly. The area is quiet minus the trains going by. But that did not bother us as we kinda liked the feel of it. Felt like a local (if you know what I am saying). The place is worth the value and would definitely recommend to friends and family and for my future trips, I will definitely come back to Take and Chie's abode. Thank you Take and Chie for opening your home to us. We loved the place and felt warm and fuzzy when we went back after a long and rainy day of shopping/sight seeing. Definitely made us feel like home.

Great stay and the apartment is really amazing, modern and clean. It is close to the trains and this could be a little loud sometimes but even with our baby boy it was no issue and he loved to watch the trains from the balcony :) Great stay!

It is a good experience in ikebukuro. The room is clean and in lovely camping style. It is just few minute to jr station and metro. The place is very quiet so I can have good sleep :) I really enjoy it.

Great place if you're looking for a short stay. Location is accessible and easy to find. However do note that the lodging has no elevators, so you have to carry your heavy luggages up 3 levels. Other than that, all was good

Great location at the south of Ikebukuro train station tucked in a very quiet area. Plenty of food places mainly at the North side of the station within walking distance. Room is as described, basic, clean and easily rested. Did not get to meet host but everything was very straightforward. Thanks!

Momoe san 's room locate in best area of ikebukuro(in front of Motropolitan Hotel.) you can come/back from narita/haneda by airport bus. Just walk across the road & surrounding with many Convenient store,food shop&more ,also near subway &train station that you can easily to go anywhere .clean,nice,quite,safe place including internet pocket wifi and suitable for 2-3 persons.

Nice apartement for 2 and have the best location. Mrs momoe so kind and helpful. We enjoyed to stay at her place. Despite the broken toilet spray.. Everything was perfect. Thankyou and definetely want to stay again in the next visit.

The apartment is pleasant with all basic appliances present, but the room is more suitable for 2 people then 3 as we were 3 of us and it was a little cramp since the apartment was relatively small. The location is pretty convenient as well, with ikebukuro station nearby. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

The Momoe's apartment is the greater place where you can be during your visit to Tokyo if you want to be like your home. Really cozy, very clean and with beautiful views, her apartment is located in an well accessible location in Ikebukuro. The neighborhood has a lot of services and a very good atmosphere all along day. Momoe is a kind and lovely host who helps you in every you needs at any moment. This place was in an absolutely fantastic area! 5 mins from ikebukuro subway, and 10 mins from sunshine city. It was spacious and comfortable and close to so many food places and convenience stores.

The location was fantastic! It is ot only close to the station, but also the underground tunnel leading to the other side of Ikebukuro as well as the Airport Limosine Bus - this is literally across the road!!! Momoe was very accommodating and nice! She and her son greeted us at the Airport Limosine Bus stop despite it being at midnight and showed us to the apartment as well as it's amenities. Will definitely stay there again if we go back to Tokyo! Highly recommend!!!

Every daily utensils in the toilet, kitchen and all electric appliances are provided in good conditions. The room is spacious enough for 3 of us, and is comfortable to stay during our trip in Tokyo. The location is also convenient which is around 10 minutes walking distance to the train station and large department store. The host is accommodating to our needs with the check-in and check-out request, and is responsive when communicating. Overall we had a very good stay in this room and this leave us with impressive experience.

It was a pleasant stay at Toru & Akira's place. The room is modern decorated and well organized.

We had a perfect stay in Akira's appartment. Akira met us by Arribas and gave us a Nice quick Tour. He left his phone number in case of questions or problems. Everything is as described. Perfect location, very clean, and no shortcomings in facilities. This is THE perfect place to stay if you want to explore Tokyo!

Akira is super cool and very accommodating re. arrival time and other scheduling issues. Great location - very close to the major transportation hub of Ikebukuro and super accessible from Narita Airport and major Bullet Train transferring spots. Well designed apt. so it feels functional and spacious. If you want to taste a bit of the Tokyo-Cool Japan urban life, this apt. is the right choice. Good selection of amenities --- and if you love movies, they have set up a digital projectors and a pull-down slide screen for you to view some DVDs :-) . Best thing for me was the free wifi - not only in the apt. but also the portable device to carry around, which (big surprise to non-Japanese travelers, due to lack of free wifi even in Tokyo metropolitan area) is very helpful ! Some might complain about the noise from train tracks near by --- but remember, Japanese trains (commuter ones included) do not operate at all from around midnight to 5 / 5:30 am so you can sleep fairly well. Seibu department store 3 min. away --- in case you are tired of eating out --- which has a huge fantastic take out food section in the basement, and Akira has microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric kettle et. al. Very thoughtful.
