  • Wow, what can I say! An exceptionally beautiful property with lovely grounds and plenty to explore. I visited with 3 work colleagues and we spent the first evening taking photo's of the property and video calling friends to show them. Hosts were so friendly and offered lots of information in our message exchanges. The property was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, the showers had plenty of pressure, a kitchen fully kitted out and also off road parking inside the imposing gates too! Thank you!

  • Absolutely amazing, worth every penny! The castle is more than what you could expect it was beautiful! Thankyou so much for a great mid-week break we had the best time! Olivia x

  • We spent 3 nights here for my mother in laws 70th birthday celebrations. We were a party of 9 in the end. It was the perfect setting. The grounds and castle are beautiful. All Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Only problem we had which was our fault, was 2 family members are disabled. One stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Other in the clock house as neither of them could managed going upstairs due to it being a spiral iron staircase. The clock house shower wasn’t suitable for the family member staying there as they needed a walk in shower. So it meant they had to come inside and share the downstairs shower also which was fine. But worth mentioning to any further guests that may have more than one disabled person in their party. We all will strongly recommend this property. Claire and Adrian very helpful when asking about outside catering companies. Which we didn’t end up using as it was really easy getting a Tesco’s delivery to the property. Check in and directions were excellent. This was a stress free few days away. We would all love to return in the future and can imagine how lovely it would be in the summer months.

  • Exactly as stated, this is a great, characterful place to stay with wonderful hosts that respond quickly to communication.

  • Fabulous place. Good facilities for catering. Great open relaxation areas. Function but beautiful bedrooms. House lovely and warm. Clock house great for any guests that can’t manage the stairs and nicer than described. Loads of room for parking and grounds would be lovely in dry weather. Great, unique quirky place.

  • Firstly, the photos on air bnb do not do the castle justice. It is simply a stunning place that feels so authentic. The grounds surrounding the castle are also fantastic and given we had the right weather, a lot of time would have been spent outside in the massive gardens utilising the bbq they have. The dining room was a personal favourite of mine and if we didn’t want to cook there was 20+ places that delivered to the castle on Just Eat. (Nacho cheese was an excellent takeaway) Adrian and Claire were lovely hosts and got back to me so quickly about any queries I had during the week. I can’t fault anything during my stay at longs park castle. I’d previously seen some reviews that made me a tad bit skeptical of the place prior to my arrival but I don’t know why I was worried because as I said, I couldn’t fault the place. Myself and friends had a brilliant break and will definitely be returning in the summer at some point. Thank you Claire & Adrian! ☺️

  • Can’t give this place enough stars. The communication with hosts Claire and Adrian before our stay was wonderful. We were given extremely detailed instructions about the check in and using the house generally. Although the check in did not require meeting them, they responded to our messages within minutes from check in to check out. We visited as a group of friends having a university reunion and the castle is just the perfect place for this type of event. The novelty factor of staying in a castle, complete with coats of armour and four poster beds was amazing. Although it must be an old building, it was extremely warm (the hosts sent very clear instructions about the hot water and heating) and the hot water worked for all of us. Lots of the rooms are en-suites and there are a few standalone toilets/bathrooms as well. The beds were comfy with very clean bed linen and towels provided. The only thing to be aware of is that there is capacity in the main house for ten people and the remaining beds are in an outhouse which has two doubles and two Z beds. The outhouse was absolutely fine but not as nice as the main house. Worth bearing in mind when planning sleeping arrangements. All in all, I can’t recommend the place more. Huge amounts of fun and lovely hosts.

  • A truly magical place for adults and children. We loved eating meals at the large dining space and enjoying wine together. It rained quite a bit whilst we were there but still plenty to do and space within the house and separate games room. The downstairs bedroom was perfect to put our three year old down to sleep on the evening before transferring him up to bed with us later on as it’s right next to main living area. Elderly may struggle with stair case, however double bedroom downstairs and toilet and shower plus the lovely annex which is perfect for older people again with own kitchen and bathroom. Washing machine meant we could wash wet clothes and space to dry them. In between showers driveway which was safe and enclosed meant we could enjoy ball games and not get muddy. Kids loved climbing the fallen tree by the play area. We took some amazing photos both inside and out. A great place to stay for all ages. Supermarkets and town of Trowbridge only 9 min drive. Nature reserve - we had a lovely walk. On way home we stopped off at Bradford on Avon which again was beautiful. Thank you Adrian and Claire our half term break was magical.

The Loft is a comfortable and relaxing space with a private hot tub and balcony, both boasting spectacular views of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. Walks across rolling hills can be taken directly from the door or within a short drive you can visit Bowood Estate, the tranquil village of Lacock, or the towns of Marlborough, Devizes and Calne. Nearby are Stonehenge and Avebury, with easy access to the beautiful city of Bath, and transport links at Chippenham rail station and M4J17.
The Loft is a private room in a new traditional oak framed building with its own private access adjacent to our family home. It is a comfy and cosy space nestled in the beautiful hamlet of Sandy Lane, boasting beautiful views of the Bowood Estate and stretching for miles to Cherhill Monument, the White Horse and beyond. We are really very spoiled to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and some Great British wildlife. It is common to be able to spot a family of Red Kites and a herd of Deer in a neighbouring field, and we are frequently visited by pheasants, partridges, rabbits and numerous native birds. The spacious balcony is a perfect spot for breakfast whilst watching the spectacular sunrise, or to gaze at stars in the unpolluted skies at night with complimentary use of a telescope. A dip in the hot tub with an alfresco shower before settling down for the evening is a great way to wind down after a busy day.
Sandy Lane is a small hamlet of around 25 houses, many of which are chocolate box thatched cottages. It is home to the beautiful Church of St Mary & St Nicholas which, built in 1892, is unusually constructed predominantly of wood with a thatched roof. Within a few minutes drive, you can be in the National Trust village of Lacock where you can visit Lacock Abbey and The Fox Talbot Museum or take a walk around the beautiful village (often used as a film set) and take a paddle in the ford. Also within a few minutes drive, or a scenic woodland walk, is the Bowood Estate. This stunning Georgian stately home is set in hundreds of acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscape and gardens, and boasts an 18 hole golf course and spa. If you are willing to travel slightly further afield, the beautiful Georgian city of Bath and the historic sites of Avebury and Stonehenge are all within 45 minutes drive.
  • Views from the window are amazing. Well kept and clean

  • Nicola was a fantastic host, it was very clean and exactly as pictured. We loved all of her suggestions about where to eat and she was always very helpful and got back to us quickly. I've never seen such a wonderfully big hot tub!

    Eliza2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola is an amazing hostess, making our stay extra special with surprise touches like the lovely pastries for breakfast. Despite the weather the hot tub was still amazing, private and huge! The loft is a lovely place to escape and enjoy the countryside. Local attractions in Lacock were great to pass a morning- especially the Abbey. We also enjoyed a few drinks in the local pub just up the road. Five star experience can’t wait to return.

    Aisling2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had fantastic time even though we had to put up with "Storm Dennis" Views were great and the room was prefect for what we needed. The little touches were great, we will be back. Fantastic host.

  • We stayed here over a weekend for our first anniversary and it had everything we could have wanted. It’s a beautiful place in the middle of nowhere with easy access to lovely villages and a stones throw from Bath. It’s a small but really aesthetic and clean space, we couldn’t have asked for a better space. Nicola was so lovely, she greeted us and gave us a lot of suggestions for things we could do during our stay. On her advice we got the train to Bath and wandered around for a while. The little personal touches made this stay dreamy. We had robes and slippers provided for when we wanted to use the hot tub which was lovely for the evening with music playing on a sound system and coloured lights. Nicola gave us a fantastic place to enjoy our first anniversary and I’d have no hesitation returning.

    Tiffani2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is every bit as good as all of the reviews. The views are absolutely exceptional and the hot tub is the biggest that I’ve ever been in. Nicola the host was warm and friendly and was always on-hand if needed. Would 100% recommend this for anyone looking for some peace and tranquillity along with amazing views.

    Darren2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had the perfect stay at the loft. A great location if you fancy a rural retreat that is a stones throw from Bath Spa. The beautiful Lacock village just down the road is also a must-see. The loft is beautifully presented and sparkling clean - Nicola has really thought of everything. Delicious croissants, crumpets and bread with jams were provided which really set us up for the day along with great french press coffee. The hot tub was such a treat and as others have said - absolutely huge! It was a really truly break with great shopping and exploring of Bath Spa. We’d recommend getting the train from Chippenham as Nicola suggested - it was so easy and quick. Thank you Nicola!

  • My friend and I enjoyed a beautiful stay here. We were overwhelmed with the place itself, the views were amazing and the hot tub really is huge! It was also located well near lovely pubs and a short drive to the train station where we caught the train into Bath. Nicola was a fantastic host and although we didn’t meet, she communicated brilliantly and answered any questions we had about our stay. She went above and beyond what I would have expected and was very kind to us while we were there. We had a great time and we certainly didn’t want to leave! I couldn’t recommend the place enough and I definitely want to book to stay again. Thanks again for the lovely stay.

Hawthorn Lodge is close to some of the most beautiful walks in Wiltshire with access straight from the door as it is situated at the foot of Historic Roundway Hill. The lodge has only just been fitted out and so almost all fittings are new and of a high quality. Perfect for pets as the lodge is set in it's own secure garden. New for 2017 is a large hot tub. Very quiet apart from the dawn chorus and the sound of the passing horses from the local riding stables. Excellent value for money.
Newly fitted out with top quality furniture, beds, kitchen equipment etc. The new daily maintained hot tub is only a few steps from the door and is totally exclusive to you.
Wiltshire is in my opinion our most beautiful, greenest county. Hawthorn lodge is sited at the foot of Roundway Hill meaning you will find no shortage of endless glorious walks. There are several walks of different lengths that will take you to The Ivy Inn to try out the local Wadsworth ale and tasty pub grub.
  • A great place to isolate! Easy to find and Chris is a very welcoming host. The lodge is very homely, with lots of thoughtful touches and a very comfortable base to explore the beautiful surroundings. We were very fortunate to spend 3 glorious spring days here, relaxing in the garden and hot tub, watching the frequent feathered visitors. The local walks we did allowed us miles of off- lead walking with our dog, the views were breathtaking and social distancing was no problem! The lodge is very well equipped; we couldn't do justice to the vast selection of DVD's and games, but had the weather not been so good we'd have kept very well entertained. We weren't able to take advantage of the local eateries but the kitchen has everything we needed to cook well for ourselves. We'd love to return in the future.

  • My partner and I stayed here for a romantic one-night stay away and it didn’t disappoint. Chris was a great host from the minute we booked! There were lovely touches like a bottle of wine in the fridge, fresh milk and fresh flowers when we got there. The hot tub itself was amazing and very relaxing!

    Megan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the lodge, such a lovely quiet area, and the place was comfortable and clean. The garden area/hot tub was really lovely even when the weather wasn't ideal. Would definitely go back for another stay.

  • A great stay in a rural Wiltshire lodge with hot tub! Thoughtful details throughout the lodge and a home away from home. Thank You Chris! Would recommend to everyone for a relaxing stay!

    Nick2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a great host. The garden had flooded the week before and he kept in contact with me regarding this so I was aware there may be a problem with the hot tub. Luckily it was all fine and I can genuinely say its the best hot tub I've ever used. The twinkly lights are a great little touch. The lodge was clean and plenty of comforts to enjoy including a playstation. I'd definitely recommend Chris's place and would certainly love to stay again.

    Heidi2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here, and not our last! Excellent in every way. Highly recommended.

    Lucy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This little lodge is in a ideallic quiet spot with walks straight out the back door to beautiful views. The lodge itself is clean and has so many little home from home touches. Every cupboard and door we opened we were pleasantly surprised. It is so dog friendly, completely closed in garden complete with dog biscuits and bowls for your furry friends! The hot tub is just bliss and we were in it in a storm! Thank you Chris we will definitely be back

  • We had a lovely two night break in Wiltshire in this quirky Airbnb. The space is lovely and plenty of space for two adults and a dog. The location is perfect. We enjoyed walked along the canal (3 minutes walk from the cottage) to get to the locks. Lots of lovely pubs and nearby villages to visit too. We could have stayed for a lot longer 😊

    Katrina2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This space is spot on for a retreat. Beautiful, simple, well designed space perfect for thinking, being still, praying, worshiping. In a beautiful countryside location with plenty to explore outdoors if that's what you want to do. Wonderful hosts. We are very grateful for the time. We used it as a retreat space for the beginning of the new year. Thank you

  • Lovely self contain cabin, seems like a remote location with the final half mile drive to the cabin and their house but this is deceptive as it is actually very easy to reach all the main local highlights of Whiltshire by car. Deep in the countyside, lots of stars on a clear night, well away from the turmoil of a town, city life.

    Maria2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great location by the canal, friendly pooches 😊

  • Absolutely loved staying in this beautiful home! The chapel has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard and the little touches are what made it for me (the fresh bottle of milk). Loved it so much that I'm thinking of making it an annual tradition. Thank you Penny for sharing your space!

    Giselle2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This converted chapel was a beautiful place to stay. It felt cosy and spacious at the same time! It was wonderfully furnished and the whole place was really stylish. We will definitely be back.

    Elizabeth2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Completely and utterly impressed with this beautiful, quaint and so well equipped accommodation. This is hosting at its very very best. Penny has thought of absolutely everything to make your stay soo homely and comfortable. Was so easy to book in and check out. Fantastic stay while exploring the surrounding area which offers a varied amount of things to do. The local New Inn just a short walk from the accommodation serves delicious food. As we drive home we are already planning a return trip as we enjoyed this one so much. Thanks Penny for having us.

    Angela2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable two-night stay in the chapel. The building itself and the décor are both lovely and there were plenty of thoughtful touches – Penny has great taste and attention to detail. There was also useful info on-hand including things to do locally, the interesting history of the chapel and helpful visuals for how to use the sofa bed. We would definitely stay here again and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a quirky and cosy retreat in the Bath area.

    Faye2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is simply beautiful. Secluded, spacious and homely it offered exactly what I was after to surprise my partner for a lovely little romantic break away. The host sent through a welcome message with all the details on gaining entry, where to go if you wanted to eat out and the contact details if you needed anything. There was a lovely little rest of goodies on arrival (drink and shortbread) along with milk in the fridge. The bedroom in the mezzanine area is spacious and the bed very comfortable! The kitchen has everything you need and the shower room, although downstairs from the bedroom, is light and fresh and has all the toiletries. We ended up eating at The Bunch of Grapes in Bradford-on-Avon, which the food was amazing! Would definitely recommend if you’re happy to spend that little bit more. Could not fault it or the service. Following night we ate at the local village pub, The New Inn. Again lovely, decent pub food, with very good portions. Again could not fault. Will definitely look to return at some point.

A beautiful 1750s cottage in Bradford on Avon, voted by the Sunday Times as the best town to live in 2015, just 5 miles from Bath. The cottage is set up with 2 rooms with double beds, 1 room with a double and a single, and can host 7 people in the cottage. The original wash house for the terrace, has a lovely light and airy studio the garden with an additional king size bed sleeping 2, hence a maximum total of 9 guests. It is cosy, so suits smaller groups well as well.
In the cottage there are two rooms with double beds and 1 room with a double and a single, so in total the cottage sleeps 7. In addition there is a lovely light and airy studio in the garden which sleeps 2, or a sofa bed in the lounge. Travel cots can be provided, and an additional single mattress on floor if accommodating smaller children. Works well for couples, small groups of friends or families. Use of the studio for parties of 7 and under needs to be agreed in advance. If smaller groups would like use of the studio that can also be arranged but for an additional fee. The cottage oozes character with exposed wooden beams throughout the property, mullion windows all carefully crafted from Bath Stone, and the original staircase and floor boards in some of the rooms. It has a cosy wood burner for winter stays, and a small but perfectly formed garden to enjoy on sunny days. There is use of a BBQ in the garden and charcoal is provided. The cottage sleeps 7 and there is a lovely studio in the garden with a kingsize bed, tea making facilities and a sofa so the group can spread out. It is light and airy. There is no bathroom in the outbuilding so guests staying here would need to use the bathroom in the cottage. The sheets are all Egyptian cotton from John Lewis with quality bedding throughout. Guests have commented about the comfort and quality. The stairs are original and quite steep. Stairgates are provided if young children require them but please let us know in advance so we can put them up. We have many families with young children stay. People with mobility issues may however find the stairs difficult.
Bradford on Avon is a beautiful town on the edge of the Cotswolds with easy access to Bath. It is a beautiful town in its own right with plenty of sights and activities to enjoy. Many guests comment that they only wish they could have stayed longer. Bradford on Avon is divided into two halves - and this cottage is on the Bath side of town at the top of the hill. On the plus side, this means it quicker for access into Bath if you are driving, however while the centre is less than a 5 minute walk, there is a rather steep hill. If you are on foot, coming from the town centre back up, I would recommend using Whitehill or Woolley Street rather than Masons Lane as it is slightly less steep and less traffic. Guests with walking difficulties may prefer to drive down town and park. There is a variety of parking from free 1 hour parking, to paid 3 hour parking near the town bridge and all day parking at the train station. Parking at St Margaret’s car park or train station are good options. My list of things not to miss would be 1. The 1 mile walk along the canal to Avoncliff which has the lovely Cross Arms pub and the No 10 Tea rooms. It is a great way to take in the slow pace of the canal boats and get away from it all. 2. The Tithe Barn - and there are nearby playgrounds if you have kids with you 3. Woolley Grange for lunch or high tea. 14 acres of gorgeous gardens with a Jacobean manor house and lots of games in the gardens for children to enjoy 4.. We also have the UK's Top Tea House - 'Bridge Tea Rooms' Favourite pubs Top of the Hill - the Castle and the George. The Castle is 100 metres from the cottage. Down town is the newly opened Timbrells Yard which has been opened by the company that runs River Cottage Cafe. Newly opened Pablos Tapas Bar in Lambs Yard has lovely tapas and margaritas.Once you have explored Bradford, Bath is a 10 minute train ride away and Bristol, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge and the South West coast are easily reached as day trips. I also love Avebury, Lacock Stourhead, Great Chalfield Manor and the Courts. All of which are National trust places between 5 minutes and 40 minutes drive from the cottage
  • Staying at Teresa’s cottage was such a treat. It’s located within such a beautiful village. There are thoughtful and luxurious touches throughout the home. These range from really comfortable bedding and linen, to a variety of essential oils and toiletries. The cottage is loaded with beautiful historical beams and windows. We were two families with 2 kids under 4 and there was plenty of space and comfort for us all. We look forward to returning someday!

  • We had a great weekend walking the muddy fields surrounding and we really enjoyed the property - we cooked a roast dinner on Saturday evening and the kitchen was really well set up for proper cooking, which is not always the case in Airbnb properties. The rooms were cosy but very homely and we all slept well - recommend the outhouse room above the garage.

  • A lovely property in a gorgeous little town. Easy train service and bus into bath. Cute coffee shops in town. However, quite a steep hill to climb back to the cottage. The house is very clean and cosy. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is nice and thick. Very cute xx

Hi, This is our first full year renting out this lovely quiet and well equipped home. We decided to keep the price low, as we would rather have lots of lovely guests, than have our beautiful home empty. We have tried to think of your every need and if we have missed anything, please let us know, we welcome your input. My sister took particular time and effort decorating the house and laying every brick herself until it was to her satisfaction. My niece Kim keeps it clean and welcoming!
The decor is light and airy. Every room has been recently updated with new paint, carpet and beds. The Kitchen is light and bright and a true pleasure to cook in or to just sit at the dining table and chat. The living room, bedrooms and bathroom can all be easily accessed by a wheel chair or walker. All the beds are new and have duvets.
This is on a quiet well-established small housing estate. Situated on a corner with a beautifully landscaped garden. The Patio is quiet and secluded with a fire pit, barbecue, seating and umbrella. The back gate has been modified so that pets cannot get out.
  • Fantastic well equipped bungalow, would highly recommend, thanks again.

  • Great Value

    Alan2020-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent two bedroom with plenty of room for 6 people. The hosts are friendly and responsive. The kitchen is well stocked and having a washer AND a dryer on site was very helpful. While the exterior makes the place look dated, the interior has been very well redone. The whole place was very clean and comfortable as well. The host goes out of their way to make sure the place has all the little touches you need. The location is also ideal as you are within super easy walking distance of Aldi supermarket and several other stores and restaurants. Overall, we had an excellent stay that exceeded our expectations.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay with everything you could possibly need provided by the host in such a clean and well organised space. There's loads to do in the area but plan some relaxation time too, as this house is so much more than just a place to sleep and it's such good value. We're already planning an opportunity to return!

  • Just returned from an overnight stay at Tony and Lyn’s - everything about it was amazing! Amazing location with really peaceful surroundings, 5 minute drive to a great local pub and a 15 minute drive to a big Tesco. They provided everything we could have needed and more - all utensils/cutlery/glasses/plates/tea and coffee and home made fudge and cake. Amazingly comfy bed in a clean and stylish cabin with a smart TV. Amazing hot tub in a private garden. Lovely double walk in shower in a clean bathroom/kitchen area. Lyn and Tony are great hosts, answered all questions and was greeted personally by Lyn. Will definitely be returning, such a fantastic find!!

    Sophie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is absolutely great, completely in the nature. The private hot tub is amazing and easy to use. The cabin gives you a lot of privacy and is lovely with all its wooden characteristic furniture and at the same time really modern and clean shower and kitchen. We really loved it.

  • Tony & Lyn were great hosts throughout our night stay at their wonderful little retreat. Everything feels brand new and the place was spotless. We got a great sense of being able to relax on our own in privacy but at the same time knowing if we needed any help with anything we only had to ask. The views of the sunset across the countryside from the hot tub were amazing even in the winter - we will definitely be back to see how amazing the place will be in the summer! A great break away from it all, thanks again.

    David2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great little cabin with an amazing hot tub, would recommend it to anyone for a weekend retreat. The extra little touches really made it a great weekend. Thanks!

  • Tony & Lyn did everything they possibly could to ensure we had a great stay at their facility. Everything from the quick responsive messages to the home made gifts, we had such a wonderful time although the weather was not on our side. They gave us big umbrellas to use in the hot tub in the rain which was so lovely of them! Tony & Lyn ensured we got the very most out of our trip, and I will definitely consider coming here again in the summer!

Good room for single travellers or working people! Ideal for single parents as we have a travel cot! Sunny room with view of garden opposite and the medieval church. Close to Stonehenge, Bath, Bristol, Salisbury! Good pub/restaurant 2 min walk away. Shop next door. Free parking. Good mobility essential. A car is essential.
The house was first recorded in 1460 and was a chantry, a place where monks chanted prayers for the souls of the rich! It was also the meeting house for the villiage. Later it became a public house and then a workingmens club before becoming a residential dwelling.
House is set in a traditional Wiltshire villiage close to the market town of Devizes and other small towns Melksham and Calne. Chippenham and Trowbridge are bigger towns close by and the Beautiful Georgian city of Bath is 40 minuets away by car.

Period cottage in beautiful Wiltshire Village
My spare room is a a small but perfectly formed double bedroom with a double bed, linen and chest of drawers. The cottage is a period cottage built in the late 1700's and is grade 2 listed so is oozing with character which yes that means low beams, an inglenook fireplace, wooden floors. It's an old cottage in the country so with that goes a few pet spiders, the odd cobweb and a crack in the paint here and there! There is use of shared bathroom (which is downstairs), kitchen and living room. Included is towels, fresh linen, tea, coffee, WiFi. The cottage is in a simply stunning rural Wiltshire village which is very close to the canal for some superb countryside walks or cycle routes and some great village pubs that you must try. Locally there are market town of Devizes, Melksham, Chippenham. Tourist Attractions nearby: Caen Hill Lock Flight, Lacock Abbey (of Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice Fame) Avebury. Stonehenge is approximately 30 mins away by car. Further afield you can get to Bath, Glastonbury, Salisbury and Wells. There is a bus stop (49) directly outside the cottage which connects with local Towns Trowbridge and Devizes and also main transport hubs Bath & Swindon. If you are wanting to get out and explore the villages it may be more advisable to have a car. Note there is a very limited bus service on Sundays! If I am free I am more than happy to show you around the local area. I love to cook and to eat together so if I am around I will happily share a meal, if not just make full use of the kitchen yourself! I do not include breakfast as I cannot guarantee my working hours /availabilty however you are welcome to help yourself to toast or cereals or whatever I have available if I am around or use the kitchen to prepare your own.

Next time we would Like to spend more time in this cosy and quirky home, with its little surprises :) we enjoyed Our stay a lot and slept very well! Jenny was very kind and helpful, and Harry the dog was so sweet! Thank you so much for breakfast and the sweet gifts! :)

  • Jennifer was fantastic, great recommendations and a very warm stay. We were very lucky as she shared some of her vegetarian chili that she had spare from feeding the homeless/less fortunate. Lovely human, thank you for a great stay.

  • Jenny is very generous at sharing her home. She was so helpful and she and her dog Harry made me and my dog feel very welcome. Thank you!

    Louise2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Jenny and Harry for 5 weeks for a working holiday and really felt welcomed and allowed to feel at home away from home. I especially liked: Jenny's swift and clear communication, her relaxed nature allowed me to do my own thing or hang out in the evenings without judgement, being shown around the area - Seend and Wiltshire alike with great suggestions if venturing out alone and sharing cooking occasionally (Jen is great at roast dinners!). The location was perfect as it had a beautiful view from the bedroom window, was quiet but on the main route to larger towns closeby. The only thing I found slightly bothersome was the scratching of Harry's claws on the floor as he walked past my room when I wanted a lie in (you have to be a dog person!) - other than this I really can't fault my stay - thank you Jenny and Harry!

  • What to say? Clean, warm, excellent facilities, comfortable bed and very friendly, lovely dog. I didn't see a great deal of Jennifer due to both of us being out a lot, and didn't need much in terms of local help, but she was helpful and friendly to the extent that we did interact.

At Beeches Farmhouse there are three, two bedroomed self catering cottages. Pig Wig is a detached, single storey cosy cottage with oak beams and a log burner. It normally sleeps 4 but an additional bed can be added. It is not dog friendly but our other two cottages are.
Pig Wig Cottage is a cosy detached, single storey cottage. In the two bedrooms the cottage sleeps up to 4 or 5 with an additional bed. Each room can be a double or two single beds. The lounge has oak beams and a log burner. Although this cottage is not dog friendly we have Cow Byre 1 or 2 which are.
We are situated on one of the roads from Bradford on Avon which is one mile away and surrounded by fields. In warmer weather you can walk across one of the fields and into town.
  • It is a perfect place for a weekend getaway; cosy, clean, very pretty in a beautiful environment. Hosts are very kind and the check-in was very smooth as well even though we arrived very late! Much recommended!

Barley is one of two newly developed apartments, in the heart of Box, a popular village only 15 mins bus or drive from Bath. In a previous life, the building was a skittle alley for The Lamb Inn but that rang time in the 1960s and is now our home. The units are a mix of country and modern, with oak beams and doors and atmospheric lighting. The aim was to create a stylish, light and comfy space with a homely feel, attention to detail and a little touch of luxury. A welcome pack awaits you.
The private entrance is up five stone steps and through the left hand oak door. The hallway leads through to the living area with a fully fitted kitchen, sofa-bed, DVD TV and a dining area. A comfy window seat offers a great spot to sit and enjoy views across the valley. Through to the bedroom and a 1200 pocket sprung kingsize bed, with 100% cotton white linens, will see you sleep soundly. This can be split into two singles if required. The corner wardrobe has generous hanging space and room to store cases. You can choose to lie in bed and star gaze through the skylight, or use the remote control to operate a blackout blind. There is a wall-mounted smart TV for late-night movies or lazy mornings. Both the living space and bedroom have sockets with USB points for easy charging. Underfloor heating is throughout. The en-suite has a 1100cm wide shower featuring a rain style and hand held shower. It also has a shaver point, heated towel rail, white fluffy bath sheet, hand towel and flannel, Cole & Lewis toiletries including liquid hand soap, body and hair shampoo, body lotion and a few other little extras.
Box is a bustling village just 5 miles outside Bath. It has a strong feeling of community and offers a local grocery shop that's open until 10pm, the 'Queen's Head' pub, a great Indian restaurant for eat-in or takeaway, delicious homemade cooking at The Birdhouse Cafe, a Methodist Church and Church Of England Church, a pharmacy, post office, hair dressers, butchers - all within easy walking distance of Barley. It also has a large, recreation ground with a cricket ground, tennis courts, football pitch, river, children's play area, toddler's play area and some stunning countryside for walks. Box woods are lovely to explore. Within a quarter of an hour's walk is The Northey Arms bar and restaurant serving excellent food and The Quarryman's Pub, a charming place with hard to beat views. The occupation of Box dates back to Roman times. It is known for its stone and quarries, Peter Gabriel's Studios and Box Tunnel, built by Brunel which is 1.83 miles long and can be seen from the bridge. The author of Thomas The Tank Engine, Reverend Awdry, lived in the village and felt the steam engines he could hear from his room at night, sounded like they had personalities. The stories begin! You can easily enjoy time in the village itself but most visitors will probably want to explore a few miles around too, with Bath, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon and Lacock all close by and packed with wonderful sites to explore. More about nearby locations and places to visit is in the Barley information folder. Rain or shine, you won't be bored!
  • Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Place very well designed and equipped - spectacular view.

  • Charming little place with all the things you didn’t even know you needed. Felt so nice to stay somewhere homely instead of a hotel. The place looks exactly like the pictures, decorated beautifully. Especially loved the electric sky lights and the power points with USB plugs, very handy! Breakfast was a nice touch, especially when the mornings were rainy and you didn’t feel like heading out! Every query was responded to quickly and Ray and Katy even offered up use of their washing machine (though there is a laundromat in Bath). Highly recommend!

    Paige2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. It had everything we needed. Ray and Katy’s hospitality was outstanding. Being close to Bath as well was ideal for our weekend away. Would highly recommend.

  • Great place, highly recommended, close to Bath but also in the countryside with some great walks on the doorstep and some fantastic pubs and restaurants enroute. We parked up and didn’t use the car again until it was time to leave. Perfect.

  • We had a great stay here while traveling down to Bath from the Cotswolds. We stayed in a shared room but had the place to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and the bar downstairs is cute and cozy. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Cheap and cheerful, warm and comfortable! Only used it as a base as we were going to an event at Euridge manor. Shared bathroom, free parking, pub Is not to shabby to go for a couple of pints and game of pool

  • Lovely place to stay! Very friendly staff, great food (including vegan options), and felt at home straight away

  • We really enjoyed our stay here! The accommodation is only a short drive (about 15 minutes from Bath) which was perfect for us given that we had a car. Dean was very easy to contact and the check-in/ check-out process was seamless. Given that we stayed on a Saturday night, we could hear some music from the pub. However, it did not keep us awake and wasn’t too loud at all - just something to consider! I would stay here again

    Mark2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • I spent a very comfortable night at Meg and Andy's palce. The room is bright, big and cozy and has everything you need. For breakfast, I could chose from a variety of options and it was freshly made and delicious. The house is not ideal if you are travelling by public transport, but Meg and Andy are very friendly and might even give you a lift to the station. I can very much recommend them!

    Fabienne2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely hosts, quiet location. You will sleep soundly. Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of choice. The two village pubs (both good!) are more of a drive than a walk, but otherwise perfect.

    Steve2018-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Meg's place. This is not just an Air B & B but a proper B & B in the truest sense of the word! Delicious breakfast, very comfy and clean rooms, beautifully decorated bathroom, and two hosts that went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. They even drove us to the nearby festival we were attending - twice! And messaged to let us know we'd forgotten something, offering to post it. Highly, highly recommend this place. thank you again Meg.x

  • We had an excellent time at Nigel and Olivia's place! It felt as if we would have a separate apartment rather than a room, so it is ideal for those who want privacy. On a day of arrival, we were provided with freshly baked bread, milk, orange juice, butter, and jam. We were also welcomed by their friendly pets (through the window). To be honest, it was one of our best stays so far.

  • The most comfortable, peaceful place to stay. Just what I needed to rest between work commitments. The fresh bread was most tempting and delicious, and everything was in place for a highly recommendable studio. The location is fantastic and it must be truly amazing in the spring and summer months. I will certainly stay again if the opportunity arises. Thank you, Sarah.

  • First heartfelt place we experienced in England! Both Glenys and her husband are wonderful people on all levels and there is much to learm from them. The hospitality they displayed was a warm honest one and it made us feel safe with a human to human interaction that was authentic. The place is alive and colorful and very clean with everything you need in it. And a beautiful garden with lots of tiny wild animals sheltering in there for they feel the hospitality as well. Thank you so much for this experience!

Located 10 miles from Bath and 10 mins drive from Bradford on Avon, this converted stables is situated in the village of Hilperton, not far from the market town of Trowbridge. The house is one of three, converted from stables once owned by the farmhouse opposite. The deep window sills and 2ft thick walls gives it a cottage feel that's cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. The property is south facing and has a front garden to enjoy the sunshine in the summer.
It has private parking in the carport to the side of the house for 1 car, plus street parking if necessary. The house has a double bedroom and separate bathroom, with a shower over the bath. Downstairs is a comfortable lounge/dining area and separate kitchen with all the necessary equipment.
Besides the city of Bath and the historic town of Bradford on Avon nearby, there are plenty of walks plus a great little café down the road. There's also a local pub 5 mins walk away called the Lion and Fiddle which specialises in Gurkha style cooking.

This stunning apartment is set in the heart of the town within a minute from the railway station and all the shops etc. Perfect base for business or to explore the area. * Fast fibreoptic internet * Luxury white linen 100% Egyptian cotton
Fresh modern space with seamless oak flooring throughout, modern fitted kitchen with washing machine etc, wet-room bathroom with walk-in power-shower and built-in hardwood vanity unit. Bedroom with solid Ash double bed and built-in wardrobes. Additional guests: there is a 120cm wide sofabed in the lounge. This is a little tight for 2 adults. Please note that for a third person linen can be provided but currently there is no extra bed - please enquire before submitting a booking.
Right in the town and yet a minute walk beside the river and you can enjoy the country air. Drop into one of the many local pubs, the Wetherspoon with terraces over the river sells a good selection of local ales for less than 2 pounds a pint! The high street is pedestrianised so very friendly to walk through, and contains all the shops you might need. Keeping the tradition of Chippenham as a market town, there's a market here on Fridays and Saturdays selling local produce. The historic aspects of the town are well preserved and there are many examples of buildings dating back many hundreds of years, as well a good museum, tourist information centre, and a specialist history centre. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
  • A haven just off the high street and really convenient for transport, shops and restaurants. Immaculately clean. Well appointed. Great communications from Alex the host.

  • Great location, quaint apartment, more spacious than it looked in pictures. Overlooks a patch of English garden. Super host, rearranged schedule to allow us to extend our stay. Helpful and speedy responses. Lots of little touches to make it a home away from home. Will return.

    Dominic2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • My experience at Alex's place was great!!! The flat is spacious, nicely decorated with all the amenities and above all sparkling clean! It is located in the town centre really close to train station (3min walk) and the bus station/National Express that takes you both to London and Bristol (2min walking distance). It is also very close to supermarkets and restaurants as well. Both Alex and Maria are very helpful and quick at their responses. I would definitely recommend Alex's place and it will be my first choice if I comeback to Chippenham!

Thank you for taking time to discover more about The Tiny Barn, a self-contained studio set in rural Wiltshire. The Tiny Barn is newly refurbished and believed to have been built originally as a gardener’s bothy and store. The Tiny Barn is a cosy, open plan studio with ample natural light and high quality finishes and fittings making this a comfortable and perfect location for couples or a single traveller to enjoy what Wiltshire has to offer.
The Tiny Barn has a kitchenette with a two ring hob, built in larder fridge and a combination microwave (includes grill and convection). There is a gas-fired combi boiler providing heating and hot water. The TV is a ‘smart’ TV. The WiFi is dedicated to The Tiny Barn and has no data restriction. There is a dual USB charging socket. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided as well as bathroom toiletries. One side of the full size double bed is against a wall. There is a separate WC with basin. The compact shower, approximately 600mm square, is tucked away round a corner and is open to the studio’s sleeping and living areas. Parking is located immediately outside the studio. The Tiny Barn has a small dedicated outside space from where guests can enjoy the surroundings and the wonderful view.
Studley is a small hamlet with stunning views over rural Wiltshire. There are three pubs/restaurants locally, all walking distance. Bowood House, the stately home with Capability Brown-designed grounds and also with hotel/spa and golf club, is very close, either by a short drive or a longer walk. The Sustrans NCR4 is a short walk or cycle ride away. Avebury and Lacock are a short drive away. Bath is quite close, easy to drive or a 11 minute train journey from Chippenham.
  • I have now been staying at the Tiny Barn for three weeks and counting, due to hotel closures in the local area. I am working in Corsham but have to stay away from home because of the distances involved. The accommodation has everything I need, is presented to a very high standard and located down a quiet country lane. Communication with the hosts is almost instant and very accommodating. I would reluctantly recommend this property as it might not be available for me if too many people know about it. Just kidding...

    Glenn2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay in the Barn! Everything was there that I needed and some thoughtful personal touches. Great access to explore Avebury. I would love to visit again!

    Natalia2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay at the tiny barn, the use of space is ingenious and the thoughtful finishing touches ensure you get a little bit of luxury in this home away from home. Fantasic location, within walking distance of a lovely local pub, plus easy drive into Bath, the Cotswalds or the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. We would definitely stay again!

    Lisa2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The little barn is a lovely comfy clean space. Very nice location and well furnished. Exactly as described thank you very much

    Brett2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely place. It doesn't feel small inside and has everything you could need. Really quite, private and lots of little touches that make it even nicer! If you are a bigger person, the shower cubicle might be a bit tricky as it is quite small. Other than that, gorgeous!

    Abigail2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with local advice as booked at the last minute. The barn was a great space, extremely quiet, clean and comfortable and was a great location for Bath and the surrounding areas. Great value for money and would stay again if in the area.

    Dean2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tiny but awesome! The owners have managed to pack all the amenities you could need for a comfortable stay in a small footprint. The space was immaculately presented, and precisely as described. The communications with Nicky & Mark were very quick, and they were extremely accommodating. Very highly recommended.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful tiny house to stay in! The Tiny Barn is nestled in the countryside with stunning views over the fields. Despite its small size, the Tiny Barn has all the mod cons anyone would need for a short stay. It was perfect for our work trip with only a 10 min drive to Calne. I would recommend staying here. Also the local Nepalese/Indian restaurant is fantastic!

  • Lovely place to stay and well described as a home away from home. I stayed with my daughter as we had an early start nearby and this was perfect. The room was ideal with comfortable beds and good facilities including a fridge, TV and a large bathroom. Everything was nice and clean and Karen couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was lovely, we got to choose the night before and it was great to have a nice cooked breakfast to set us up for the day, all served for us in the dining room. If we need to go back to the area, we'll definitely be staying again.

Detached small cottage with its own entrance, parking and outside sitting area. Outside Easterton village up on the hill with spectacular views of Salisbury Plain, stunning sunsets, no light pollution and quiet at night. Close to many interesting sites. The cottage is one good-sized room, with central heating, shower/toilet, kitchen area and storage cupboard. Please note we have had difficulties with visitors bringing dogs. If you want to bring a dog please contact us before booking.
The cottage offers one double bed, two comfy chairs, dining table with chairs, shower/toilet, wardrobe & storage cupboard, and kitchen. The kitchen includes gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer and all necessary cutlery, china and utensils. The outside area is gravel with various plant containers with annual and perennial flowers and herbs, seating and table for al fresco meals. There is also a chiminea and barbecue. The property is 3.5 acres of organic pastureland where we are developing a small wood, a permaculture forest garden, submerged greenhouse for growing fruit and winter vegetables, in addition to a kitchen garden. We also have a flower meadow and paddock where we have goats arriving in the Spring, and hopefully some sheep. We have chickens (fresh free-range organic eggs usually available) and bees (maybe some honey for sale), and cats and a couple of dogs who visit every day. It is a rural area with many wonderful walks in the nearby.
The Salisbury Plain area is quite spectacular, with over 2000 tumulae, Stonehenge and Durrington Walls neolithic site, and Avebury nearby. The Kennet & Avon canal runs through the Vale of Pewsey close by. Devizes has many coffee shops and other shops, Sainsburys, Morrisons and Lidl supermarkets, an outdoor market on Thursdays, and a Farmers Market on the first Saturday of every month. There is also a lovely farm shop close by. We are 20 minutes drive from Devizes and Pewsey, where there is a mainline railway station to London and the South West, and 30 minutes from Westbury for trains to Bristol, Bath and the South West. Bristol is about an hour's drive, and the historic Regency city of Bath is about 45 minutes away. Devizes is an old market town, with reputably the larges market place in the West Country. Today it is a busy local centre for shopping with a monthly Farmers' Market (first Saturday of every month), The Shambles, a historic indoor market, and several antique shops. There is a Medieval Walk around the town, showing some very old buildings. The Kennet & Avon canal runs through the Vale of Pewsey and Devizes town centre, with the famous Caen Hill flight of locks: 29 locks with a rise of 237 feet in 2 miles (72 m in 3.2 km), a 1 in 44 gradient. Avebury is about half an hour's drive on the way to Swindon, and Stonehenge is about 20 minutes south on the way to Salisbury. You need to book well ahead for Stonehenge. There is a friendly pub with good food at the bottom of the hill, The Old Oak, and a Co-op mini-supermarket in the next village, Market Lavington, (about 15 minutes walk).
  • I booked Tack Cottage for a little rest and relaxation over the Christmas period and enjoyed my stay immensely. I was warmly welcomed by Vivian when I arrived who explained in detail about Cottage, the grounds and the local area. The Cottage was clean, tidy and well presented. A lovely feature was the newly installed log burner which provided additional warmth during the evenings (although the gas central heating was more than adequate). The local pub (The Royal Oak) was only a short walk from the cottage and I highly recommend the food (especially the Sunday Dinner). The pub also welcomed dogs. The Cottage was also ideal for my dog, plenty of walks in the area with stunning scenery of the Salisbury Plains. I highly recommend Tack Cottage to anyone who likes good walks, rest and relaxation.

  • A lovely place to stay and Vivian and Sarah were great. Very comfortable, peaceful and with everything you could possibly need. It's the most beautiful area. I was there for 2 weeks and wished I could have stayed longer. I would certainly love to go back.

  • Adorable cottage in beautiful grounds. Everything you needed for a short or longer term stay. The resident dogs were great with my puppy. Vivian was more than helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Her local knowledge was fantastic, we had to cut the holiday short due to our puppy falling poorly but even then Vivian recommended a great vets! Would definitely definitely stay again and we plan too!

  • Absolutely beautiful location. Apartment was well appointed - everything I needed for a wonderful country visit.

  • Vivian's cottage is newly built with all the comforts of home. A well equipped kitchen, great shower with plentiful hot water, cosy furniture, good heating, and a wonderful view of the sunset and stars at night. The village nearby has good places to eat and a lively pub. We also loved Vivian's cats and the two dogs that visited daily <3 We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Vivian!

    Tom2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival at Tack cottage we were given a very warm welcome from Vivian, the owner. We were also given half a dozen eggs and a tour around the accommodation. Tack cottage has everything you would need for a short or long stay. We stayed for a week and found everything to be perfectly functional and comfortable. Thank you Vivian and Sarah for your warm hospitality, we will be back very soon.
