Breathtaking 2 Bedroom Luxury Cornish Cottage with Panoramic Sea & Harbour Views with Hot Tub - Featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces Situated on a beautiful bay in South Cornwall where seals & dolphins are regularly spotted & local fisherman bring in their daily catch. Less than 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars, pubs, ice-cream shops & ancient Grade 2 listed Port showcasing exquisite tall ships and famous for the film set of Poldark & Alice In Wonderland
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland...and most recently George Clarke, who featured Harbour Lights, formerly known as the ‘Loo with a View', on his hugely popular ‘Amazing Spaces' TV programme. It's not hard to see why George was so captivated by the intricate work lovingly carried out on this imaginative and elegantly restored property.  Built in 1771 as a fish and net cellar, the building was later renovated into public conveniences before we rescued it from its ramshackle state in 2015.  The building has now been fully renovated into a truly luxurious pet-friendly two-bedroomed holiday hideaway, full of natural character and marine-inspired style, featuring truly unsurpassed sea views from the cliff top.  Great care and attention has been taken with the design and furnishing of every room to ensure perfect harmony with the beautiful coastal surroundings.  Ancient reclaimed timber décor and solid oak doors add chic touches of time-honoured style, alongside the more contemporary pure white Italian marble worktops and soft grey backgrounds that perfectly complement the magnificent bay and harbour views from the windows. The ground floor encompasses a spacious open-plan living area, described by George Clarke as fabulously "light and airy", featuring a fully furnished designer kitchen that looks out across the harbour.  Fire up the stylish log burner and watch the ships as they glide languidly by! Take the stairs and discover two exquisite bedrooms, one large double featuring glorious views over the harbour and Charlestown Bay - with a luxurious Heritage bath right at the bottom of the bed.  The second, slightly smaller, bedroom features a beautiful view of the garden area. You'll also find a stunning Italian marble and stainless steel furnished en-suite, and a utility area and walk-in wardrobe featuring fitted storage, washer-dryer, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Underfloor heating and a Sonos sound system with three independent zones runs throughout, so that wherever you happen to be, you'll be effortlessly able to set the perfect mood! Simply download the Sonos App on your smart phone and away you go! The views become even better outside, when experienced with a glass of bubbles from the lavish four-seater hot tub looking out across the sea!  There's a slate patio with wash off area that's particularly handy after a sandy day on the beach, and a beautiful garden with decked terraces and colourfully lush flowers and plants that have been carefully selected to make the most of their surroundings. Discover Harbour Lights' namesake at the end of the garden...a quaint little lookout shed which in times past was home to the searchlight that guided the Tall Ships safely into harbour.  Here you'll find two benches carved from the old roof timbers, creating the perfect romantic hideaway. Oh - and just in case you're wondering whether any remnants of the building's former history remain, hanging proudly above the downstairs bathroom are the original ‘ladies' and ‘gentlemen' signs… We just couldn't bring themselves to flush those away! You'll find it extremely difficult to tear yourself away from this sea sanctuary, but if you decide to venture out and about, why not take your dog to Charlestown beach for a run, perhaps with some seal and dolphin-spotting along the way?  Watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch before taking yourselves off to indulge in a gourmet seafood meal at the award-winning Falmouth Bay Seafood Café in Truro, another of our stylish dog-friendly retreats. The ancient Grade 2 listed port is steeped in historical architecture...along with a glittering touch of celebrity from its regular use as a film set. So set sail to Harbour Lights and enjoy an invigorating and relaxing break with genuinely breathtaking sea views you won't forget in a hurry!
The beautiful village port of Charlestown has played host to many famous figures in its time, from Poldark to Alice in Wonderland. Go off in any direction along the coast and you’ll find a range of wonderful cafes and restaurants.
  • The place is picturesque, from both inside and outside. You feel disconnected from the world but yet so connected to yourself. The actual feeling around and inside the place is not intelligible and can not be comprehended by the mind, only felt by the heart. Thank you Charlotte for such experience!

  • Harbour Lights will knock your socks off if you are after a relaxing break with great views and facilities

    Chris2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place, in particular for a 'couples getaway'. We went as a family (two teenage girls) and though a squeeze in the spare room for the girls we all found it a great place to spend a week exploring the local walks, beaches and food. Notwithstanding our stay included a visit from 'Storm Dennis' it was a fantastic week and we enjoyed watching the weather coming into the bay.

    Malcolm2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place in a great location with lovely restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Charlotte was a great host who was available to help with anything required. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks! X

  • What a nice place harbour lights is. Location is perfect with amazing views & the accommodation is brilliant.

  • This really is a ‘gem’ — absolutely stunning property with luxury finish, in a truly superb location! Walking distance to local beaches, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and everything you will need. We never used our car at all during our stay, and wakening up to the sea views every morning...just ‘wow’!!

    Warren2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great

    Robert2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Well where do I start!! The property it’s self is nothing short of amazing. Charlotte kindly accommodated an early check in which was much appreciated. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay with lovely complimentary doggie bags. The views from the hot tub are to die for and there was nothing better than relaxing in the bath looking out at the ocean at the end of the day. The scones and the bubbly definitely made it that little bit more special if that’s even possible! Charlestown is beautiful and the recommendations from the welcome pack where much appreciated. Longstore was a special place for a very nice steak. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be able to stay again soon.

Featured in The Telegraph and Cornwall Today. Many guests say that our photos don't do us justice, trust them, this is a perfect destination for complete relaxation and privacy. Close the gates and stay put! Two supercool spaces The Bespoke Cabin with woodburner and the Summerhouse are set in a private meadow. The Summerhouse at the top of the meadow has views, fab for sunbathing or cloud and star gazing it has a deck and firebowl. Children over 6yrs welcome.
Built for purpose the cabin is a one off alternative and self contained beautiful space. It is not a mobile home/kit or attached to my property. It is a converted field shelter Bespoke design not a kit!! It is a separate entity along the lane from my property and set within its large and beautiful 1.5 acre meadow with views. Dimensions are 6m x 4m. Small but pefectly formed. The ground floor has a kitchen and living space combined with a woodburner. The living space is double height which gives a feeling of space. Also on the ground floor a bedroom with double bed and ensuite shower room. A heavy curtain can be pulled to separate the downstairs living and sleeping areas. The Cabin is light and airy and all windows are double glazed and the cabin is twin skinned with full insulation. There is an electric radiator in the bedroom area, which can be moved around. The second double bed is above this room on a mezzanine level accessed by a ladder, there is limited head height here on the mezzanine but this makes it a snug and cosy space, with blinds which drop down for privacy. Not suitable for younger children. Not suitable for ages 2 to 6 older children could be considered. There is a freeview television with radio. No wifi. Good 4g coverage...especially in the Summerhouse. Probably more suited for a couple but four adults or two extra older children would be fine. Romantic or retreat! Private and a lovely setting. Officially used for engagement surprises and Honeymoons. I can arrange balloons or cake or anything to make your celebration special, just ask. Access to the mezzanine nook is by ladder! Outside space is private and extensive and although next to the lane this is a very quiet valley. You have a private paddock with a summer house with deck at the top of it for lazydays watching the sky or sunbathing on the deck. Ideal star gazing very little if any light pollution. A fabulous firebowl is also situated by the Summerhouse. There is a smaller fire pit down by The Cabin and bbq. Ideal cycling/walking country. On the Saint's Way situated below Helman Tor. Beside Breney Common Nature reserve. Also on cycle route 3. Very little light pollution. Situated in the geographic middle of Cornwall so easy to access coast and most famous areas. Please message me for any more information. One night stays subject to availability please message for details.
We are on the Saints' Way here and walking distance from Helman Tor a special and beautiful place. Also Breney Common Nature Reserve is adjacent to the cabin and a haven for wildlife. The nearest pub is 2.5 miles away the Crown Inn in Lanlivery, the Kings Arms pub in Luxulyan is also close with great food and atmosphere. Fowey and Lostwithiel are approx. 7 and 9 miles away. No public transport nearby the nearest train stations are Bodmin Parkway and Par both 7 miles away and this would be a great base for a cycling holiday being on the Cycle Route 3 . By appt I could collect from a train. Happy to help with ideas for trips if you can tear yourself away from here and the cabin has maps and tourist info for you to browse. Games and binoculars if you just want to hunker down!
  • You will not be disappointed. The cabin is such a lovely space, really well equipped, great location and the most wonderful, responsive and thoughtful host. The space is perfect for a quiet getaway and is full of everything you could need. We will definitely be returning again!

  • The best air bnb I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Carol and her cabin are both amazing. From the outset you get a good feeling from Carol’s warmness and kind heartedness and on arrival you can see that she has put her soul into this beautiful cabin. The setting is idyllic and the cabin itself is truly unique. Every little detail has been thought of and the little touches make the cabin feel a home away from home. It’s cosy, romantic and homely - a real rare find! I can not recommend this place enough. The decor and architecture are incredible and Carol’s easy to follow instructions mean using the wood burner and outdoor fire pits are a doddle. There isn’t WiFi (not an issue as you are there to relax and enjoy your surroundings and I found it nice to be disconnected) but if you want to watch a movie in the snug upstairs room on a chilly evening perhaps download something before arriving. There are many beautiful coastal walks in easy reach by car; the coastal path to Polperro is beautiful and a trip to the beach at East Looe is a lovely way to spend the afternoon with a Cornish ice cream. The Bodmin Moore’s are on the doorstep as is the Eden project. Thank you Carol for sharing such a wonderful space with us! 10/10 - a must visit for everyone 😊 I would also recommend a lunch visit to the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery just beyond Lostwithiel (approx 15 min drive) - good food, friendly staff and a very sweet resident cat living in the garden centre shop!

    Kitty2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is a unique and wonderful place to stay. Carol has made this place romantic and quirky and is a wonderful host. The summerhouse at the top of the field is a lovely extra that you don’t get at most places. If you want to escape from the rat race and have some romantic time alone with that someone you love this is most definitely the place to stay x

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carol has been an amazing host, she was extremely understanding and welcoming when we arrived an hour ahead of schedule. The Cabin is a very cosy and homely place to get away for a few days and is perfectly placed for the Eden Project and some great local seaside towns. We look forward to staying again!

    Elliot2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it 😊

    Richard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was truly beautiful - it was everything we’d hoped for and more. Carol has thought of everything; the personal touches (games, umbrellas, lanterns, etc) made the place even more special. The decor is also brilliant - very homely and comfortable to the point we spent more time in enjoying the fire and games than we did out in the end! Carol is also a fantastic host with brilliant communication and attention to detail. We were overall delighted with our stay and cannot wait to return.

    Kassie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is a perfect place to get away and unplug! We really enjoyed switching off (we had no phone reception and there is no wifi) and relaxing in beautiful surroundings. The Cabin has everything you could need when you are away, Carol has thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked in every night. There are lots of games and books and a TV. We didn't make use of the Summer House but can imagine it would be lovely when it's a bit warmer! You definitely need a car if you are staying here and there are no pubs or shops within walking distance. We visited the Eden Project - it's less than a 15 minute drive. Loved our stay here, we will come back!

    Sarah2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, absolutely spot on. Stylish and cosy little hideaway. Carol was great at checking us in and keeping in touch. Beautiful little cabin.

  • We were welcomed with smiles and hot coffee and brownies on arrival by our hosts who couldn't of been more welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was perfect, warm and spotless. More than enough room for our party. The whole site was a real pleasure from the games barn and the wood fired hot tub to feeding the pigs and collecting eggs from the friendly hens. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay, the location was perfect and everything we wanted was close by. The only problem was our stay wasn't for long enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks again. Xx

**PLEASE NOTE: I will offer a full refund in the event of further travel restrictions due to Corona Virus** Touchstone Cottage is a lovingly restored 200 year old fisherman's cottage just a stone's throw from Mevagissey's working harbour on the much sought after sunny East Cliff. As a 19th century cottage, tucked away up a secluded cobbled path, you are unable to reach the Cottage by car; this ensures that you will enjoy a peaceful stay. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are within walking distance
The upper floor of the Cottage is light and airy; a partition wall has been removed to create a 'mezzanine' bedroom, next to the bathroom. The bedroom has a lovely view across the cobbled back streets of the Village. Light floods down the stairs to the Living Room which features original floorboards which have been lovingly restored, and a log burning stove. There are exposed beams throughout and heaps of character. The cottage is painted white throughout, and features lovely Loaf furniture in the bedroom and living room. Downstairs, on the ground floor, the kitchen/diner features the prettiest slate tiles complete with underfloor heating. Should you choose to cook at home you will find that the kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob and oven, and a lovely pale blue 1950s style SMEG fridge with freezer box. The look is complemented by the mid-century Ercol table and chairs. Finally, a word of caution, the internal stairs are original and are therefore tight and steep, and the cobbled path leading to the cottage can be slippery when wet! I very much look forward to welcoming you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any questions.
Mevagissey is a beautiful base from which to explore the surrounding area and you will experience a real slice of traditional Cornish life during your stay. In the village itself you will find many lovely shops to browse around alongside 'olde worlde' pubs, cafes and restaurants, where you can eat and drink locally sourced produce. The fishermen haul in their catch at the end of the day and both deep-sea angling trips and short mackerel fishing trips in the bay are available from the quay. The seagulls follow the boats in and are very noisy; just thought I would mention this as the cottage is very close to the harbour! During the summer months there are ferries that will take you from the harbour to Fowey or around the coastline. Mevagissey also has its own small sealife aquarium and museum. Mevagissey is surrounded by beautiful beaches which you can access from The Coast Path; the cottage is just seconds from the Coast Path. You can walk up 'The Cliff' to the top and follow the footpath to beautiful Polstreath beach (steps down) or you can walk over the top of Polkirt Hill and down to Portmellon beach, a sandy cove with plenty of rock pools. From here you can follow the Coast Path to Colona Beach at Chapel Point beach, and, if you are a keen walker, you can keep on walking to Gorran Haven Beach, and you might catch sight of seals, dolphins or even basking sharks on the way. Mevagissey does have its own small beach in the harbour if you do not want to walk. There are many other unspoilt beaches within 10 minutes' drive including Gorran Haven, Vault Beach, Hemmick and Porthluney 'Caerhays', to name but a few. Lovely unspoilt villages such as Port Holland and Portloe, the majestic Nare Head and Pendower Beach, and the Roseland Peninsula and its beautiful beaches, including Towan beach, are all within a 30 minute drive. You can also take the scenic King Harry Ferry across the Fal River and continue on to Falmouth. The North Coast is a short 40 minute drive away and there are surfing beaches at Newquay, Perranporth etc. Mevagissey also hosts its own Feast Week during the last week of June when the harbour is decorated with bright lights and flags, there is a full week of activities and on the final evening there is a spectacular firework display around the harbour. Local Beach Summary Mevagissey beach in the harbour (5 minutes walk) Polstreath beach (steps down) - walk up 'The Cliff' on the east side of the harbour to the top and follow the Coast Path (10 minutes walk) Pentewan beach - follow the Coast Path east of Polstreath beach Portmellon beach - walk over the top of Polkirt Hill (20 minutes walk) Colona Beach, Chapel Point - follow the Coast Path west of Portmellon (30 minutes walk)
  • Really charming cottage, nicely done up, perfect for a cosy winter weekend. 30 second walk from the harbour with lovely views and lots of nice places to eat and explore.

  • A lovely old fisherman’s cottage, up a lovely old street in a lovely old town. The space was everything we hoped for, with a very comfortable kitchen and a lovely view over the town from the bedroom. It’s a stones throw from the harbour and its amenities, and well positioned for walks along the coast, a trip to the Eden project or a longer journey to explore other parts of Cornwall.

    Leonie2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • A great location, with everything you need for a break at the seaside. We enjoyed walking to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the coastal walk to Gorran Haven. A friendly village too!

This delightful, airy cabin, is the perfect place to relax. Located in the hamlet of Milltown, near Lostwithiel, you are a short walk away from beautiful woodland and the picturesque Fowey River and ten minutes, by car, from the beach.
Nestled into a wooded hillside, our cabin is set far enough away from the house to give you peace and privacy. It is light and airy in summer and cosy in the winter, with storage heating and an electric blanket. There is also a heated towel rail and plenty of hot water in the en-suite shower room. The main room has a double bed, a large cupboard, an arm chair, bed side tables and enough floor space to put up a travel cot or a child's blow up bed. Although there is not a kitchen, there is a cupboard with basic crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, a fridge, a microwave, tea and coffee making faciliites and a toaster. Bread, croissants, a selection of cereals, milk, juice, honey, jam and marmite will left in the cabin for you to make your own breakfasts if you are staying for one or two nights. If you are staying for longer then it will be up to you stock up on supplies!
Milltown is a pretty hamlet close to the ancient Milltown Woods and the Fowey River and The Saint's Way goes directly past the gate! Lostwithiel is a twenty minute walk across fields or a five minute drive and it has a good selection of shops including a deli, a butchers, a bakers, a chemist, a Co-op and several good antique and gift shops. The picturesque town of Fowey is just over four miles away with it's numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops and stunning views of the estuary and out to sea. There are many local beaches, to suit all tastes, and the Eden project all within a 20 minute drive.
  • Lovely little cabin with pleasant walks nearby. Very helpful hosts with quick responses. Clear instructions on how to get there were given. Would definitely stay again!

  • Lovely cabin, the perfect getaway where you totally escape reality. Walk welcome, it was nice to have milk, cereal and toast on arrival. The woods which the cabin is set in is truest magical. We will definitely be back again

    Tracey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Clare's cabin with the idea of fostering a love of the woods in my children. I have not been disappointed, they both came away absolutely in love with the woods, the streams and rivers and all that the area had to offer. The cabin is neat, spacious, well presented with everything one could need. We will be back!

    Lindsay2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded spot, we had a lovely stay in cabin and had everything that we required. We were there when weather was not so great but still had a good time. Picturesque surroundings, nice and peaceful.

    Andy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy little cabin set in the most beautiful wooded area. We woke to birdsong in the morning and watched the stars at night. A perfect weekend getaway, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much.

    Sarah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet chalet for two. Great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely and cosy. I’ll be back👍

    Graham2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin, great location, peaceful and secluded. Good location for the eden project, beach, estuary... Lots of books and games for relaxing evenings. The heater could do with updating as it doesn't quite manage with cold winter nights, but this is the only minor criticism of a really nice, great value cabin, we'll definitely book again.

  • A truly beautiful retreat tucked away in the cornish countryside. All the home comforts you'd possibly need for a short stay. Very clean, warm and comfortable furnishings. Look forward to returning one day 😊

  • We cannot recommended this as a getaway destination highly enough. It’s a beautiful little space in the back end of nowhere. Wonderful! Sadly our trip was cut short but we absolutely loved our brief time there. The instructions, communication, decor, location, price and tips were all spot on. Definitely stay here! We’ll be back again soon!

    Tom2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space with all you need. Folder full of recommendations. Parking right outside. Would love to return in the summer. Lovely local pub Crown Inn.

    Serena2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Sheep Shed is truly a lovely little space to stay in. It is very well equipped for the cosy and compact size, quite remote but lovely and peaceful. The instructions from the host on how to get there were accurate and helped considering I arrived when it was getting dark. The shower and toilet are compact but clean and the water was lovely and warm in the shower. Everything is well thought out, and even though I was there whilst storm Ciara was travelling in, it was very warm and cosy. The little welcome basket with cereal and fruit is a lovely little touch :) I definitely hope to return in the future for another getaway, hopefully with my other half this time! Thank you again x

  • This was the perfect country get away! Our host went the full mile to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was knowledgeable and welcoming and easy to contact. The Sheep Shed is cosy and equipped with all that you need. The location is central to both coasts. We would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for a quiet country break!

    Karla2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! Exactly what you expect from the pictures and description. You're not too far from Bodmin to be able to go to a bigger shop or to a town if you want but you are very much in the countryside. Went for a 2 day trip to Cornwall and this was the perfect place to stay near lots of good places. Lanhydrock is a lovely national trust place to visit and had an amazing lunch down in Charlestown.

Small double bedroom with adjacent private bathroom in a modern and professional home. The bedroom itself is relatively small however perfectly suitable for one person. South facing and decorated in neutral colours the room has an airy feel to it, you’ll find a small double (4ft / 1.2m wide) bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress, single mirrored wardrobe, chest of drawers, a side table and one bedside cabinet.
The room is laid out with the bed against the wall so as to allow more space for moving around. If this is not an issue you may find that it is suitable for two people. Other items in the room include; Touch lamp on bed side cabinet, television with Freeview, hairdryer, iron & ironing Board, oversized king-sized light weight duvet and four pillows. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is used only by this room, it has a toilet, basin and bath with shower over, also in the bath room you will find the following; Bath towel, hand towel, flannel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner & toilet roll. It may be possible for you to use the washing machine but please confirm this first and bear in mind there is only an outside washing line for drying so you’ll need to time the weather right! It is a modern semi-detached three-bedroom house positioned at the end of the close and subsequently has a calm and relaxing feel to it, the house is clean, tidy and well-presented and I am very lucky to have lovely neighbours. I live here with my three cats, Josie, Tilly & Teddy who are naturally convinced that they are in charge and subsequently roam freely (please keep your doors closed if you don't want to have guests of your own). There is a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals – just be sure to load the dishwasher and try to be finished by ten so that I can get my beauty sleep! Opposite the house is a dedicated private and off-road drive for you to park a car. The back garden is split over two levels, please feel free to make use of the top level where you’ll find a selection of garden furniture available on the lawn. Please feel free to use the sitting room during the working week days, I do reserve this to myself for the evening and weekends though. House requests Other than respecting the non-smoking policy please just be mindful of the time and noise levels within the house after 10pm If you wish to stay up chatting after this then the conservatory off the kitchen is a great relaxed place for this.
The house is built on a recent housing development in Par, Par is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south Cornish coast set between Charlestown and Fowey.
  • Great place to stay. Matt is really friendly and easy to get on with and lets you do your own thing. Very clean bright modern and warm house. Everything you need is there - good sized bathroom, comfy bed, tv in room, decent storage space. Well equipped kitchen which you are allowed use of and Matt even lets you have space in the fridge and cupboard. Friendly cats that will sit on your lap in the conservatory and keep you company. Great views from the garden.

  • Matthew was a fabulous host and the accommodation itself is great — exactly as it is described. A great room for both short and long term stays being close to many attractions. Having the shops in Par and the beach within walking distance is handy. You’d be hard pressed to find a more helpful, friendly, and welcoming host than Matthew.

Hallane Mill is an immaculately restored cottage nestled at the bottom of a valley where it meets the sea with a shingle beach and unrivalled views. You will not find a better spot for a romantic retreat in Cornwall.
There are very few properties in Cornwall as private as this, yet so close to the sea. The coast path actually meanders around the back of the house and there is a shingle beach 5m in front of the property. The Mill itself has been beautifully restored, with amazing attention to detail, and tastefully decorated and furnished while maximising character features. Imagine watching the sun rise over the sea while sipping a morning cup of tea or coffee followed by a refreshing dip in the crystal waters.Porthpean Beach is just to the north and is sandy, safe and sheltered with rock pools at the south western extremity while at the opposite end the cliffs are mainly populated by nesting birds. There is an 18 hole golf course just above it on the cliff top. The Eden Project is just to the east of St Austell, the Lost Gardens of Heligan a short drive to the south west, the picturesque Roseland Peninsula with its quaint fishing villages is within half an hour's drive and Newquay's vibrant surfing lifestyle and golden beaches are a similar distance to the north.Accommodation Ground Floor: Entrance into small utility room with doors to: Downstairs WC with handbasin. Trenarren is equidistant between Porthpean, Charleston and St Austell to the north and Pentewan, Mevagissey and Caerhays to the south.Porthpean has a marvellous central location, a mere 5 minutes from the centre of St Austell yet sitting on a south east facing hill with a splendid view of St Austell Bay. The eighteen hole golf course has a mix with the front nine in a parkland setting bordering Penrice Woods with distant rural views of Cornwall, the back nine has an unsurpassed view across the bay towards Fowey. Porthpean Beach is sandy and sheltered and is a safe place to swim, paddle, explore rock pools or watch the nesting birds on the cliff.Less than a 10 minute drive away is the pretty harbour of Charlestown which offers plenty of places to get food and drink, a sweet shop, a couple of galleries and a Ship Wreck museum. It can also be reached by means of the coastal footpath from Porthpean. It is an excellent village to visit for a relaxed pub meal whilst enjoying views over the harbour and out to sea. There is also a small beach.Pentewan (just north of Mevagissey) has an industrial past that is still evident in the village today. It was once a busy harbour built by a local mine owner for shipping china clay. Inland is the Pentewan Valley Trail which is 4km of woodland and riverside walking following an old gauge railway to the village of London Apprentice. The village also has a small, friendly pub with tables on the old harbourside. There is a wonderful sandy, beach which is ideal for families. The town of Mevagissey is just a 5 minute drive in a southerly direction. Mevagissey is a wonderful little Cornish fishing village in South East Cornwall. Ideally located within easy reach of both The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. The tiny seaside village is packed with old Cornish cottages complete with narrow alleyways leading to converted fish cellars offering gift shops, galleries, pubs and cafes. Once a major Pilchard port, now the harbour boasts a smaller fleet, many of which provide sea tours, or boat trips to Fowey situated further up the South coast. The Harbour provides an ideal back drop for a fish and chip supper, followed by a stroll through the town at dusk. With a 10 minute drive to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and 30 minutes to the Eden Project, Mevagissey provides a excellent location for the keen gardener. Gorran Haven nearby offers an alternative day out as well as Pentewan with its fresh water dock basin. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay.The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are within an easy drive and so this is an excellent location for the keen gardener. Nearby Gorran Haven offers an alternative day out. You can continue south along the coast down to Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Cliff walks in all directions along the coast offer spectacular views out across the St Austell Bay with the coastal path only a few minutes walk from the cottage.St Austell was once the major producer of the world's China Clay. Now with cheaper foreign imports the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The brewery has recently started exporting its products across the Tamar River to England, so you may just find where your favourite brew is made.

All furnishings and equipment are new; the d/glazed chalet has a basic kitchen area, It's in a third of an acre of gardens. WIFI available in greenhouse. There are no extras charged for, such as 2 persons, cleaning, or breakfast. Breakfast mostly organic is provided in the Chalet - self-serve- and consists of choice of 2 cereals, tea, cafetière, decaff and non-decaff instant coffee, herb teas and biscuits, plus the items in the fridge-freezer mentioned in the next category: .The Space :
Ideal for undisturbed relaxation, in a huge garden in the centre of Tywardreath, 2 minutes from village shop, fish and chip shop, church and pub, 3 minutes from the local bus stop, and within walking distance of Par railway station, the beach and the coastal path. It is located in an Area of Outstanding natural Beauty. The Kitchen area has kettle, toaster microwave, cafetiere, crockery and cutlery. tea coffee and biscuits. Guests have access to the outhouse - en route to the Chalet - which houses a large fridge-freezer - where organic milk, bread, butter orange juice jam/marmalade and ground coffee are provided free.
Tywardreath is a very old village with lots of history, its name, translated from the Cornish, means 'house on the strand' - the title of one of Daphne du Maurier's novels. I could bore you with lots more on this subject :-). The village is a short distance uphill from the National Coast Path, the nearest beach (Par beach) - is very wide and has a large (paying) car park, dunes, a cafe, a pub at the entrance (The Ship), good, fine sand; gently sloping to the sea - so safe for young children. The water is very clean. The views are exceptional. Par has a post office, several pubs and shops, a small Co-op supermarket, library, bike hire and railway station - 15 minutes walk from the house. The Eden Project is 20 minutes by car.
  • This venue gave us very local access for so many attractions, especially the Eden Centre, Fowey, Polperro and Looe. Clive made our trip really easy, we felt very welcome and at home; he gave us countless tips and ideas about what to do locally and loaned us a very useful map outlining the shortcuts to places. The cabin was very cosy, despite the foul weather outside and Clive tried really hard to accommodate our use of wifi and various other needs. The washing up fairy meant that we could come home to all of that done and the use of the fridge was very helpful. For this and all the other very thoughtful touches, we were most grateful. Lovely place to stay for a short break.

  • Very quaint stay. Clive is super interesting and a thoughtful host

  • We really enjoyed our stay here, the chalet had everything we needed, in a peaceful setting and it was nice not to have a TV or any WiFi and switch off properly. The breakfast was delicious and thanks for our apples too! The chalet provided a great base to get to the beach, Fowey as well as walking distance to a great pub! Thanks Clive and Catherine for being such great hosts!

  • We would strongly recommend Clive's chalet. It's conveniently placed for those visiting the Eden Project, and it's only a few minutes walk from Par station, so if you're visiting Cornwall without a car, it's ideal. The chalet was exactly as described, and breakfast was delicious. Clive was an excellent host. He responded quickly to texts and gave us some tips for the local area.

  • This is an adorable little flat, the bed is very comfortable, and it’s a great place for exploring the local area. You’ll feel very warmly welcomed here! It’s quite chilly, the oil heaters work well but I’d recommend bringing slippers and a hot water bottle if you tend to get cold at night. There’s a very quirky cottage feel to the place, which is lovely.

    Emily2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Sweet Shop cottage for New Years Eve, for a country getaway. The house was so small and cosy with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom upstairs. The house was decorated with local artwork and had a variety of leaflets about the local area, Chris also told us where to visit which was great. We were welcomed by Chris who explained how to work everything and left us a cream tea which was a lovely treat after our 2 hour drive down. The kitchen had the basics and there were supplies to make tea and coffee, oven, microwave, fridge, kettle ect. The bathroom had an amazing shower and the bedroom was spacious with a really comfy bed and TV for entertainment. The house had no central heating so the floor was really cold (take slippers!) but upstairs was fine. There were oil heaters on both levels to keep us warm. We walked down to Charlestown Harbour which was beautiful with the sea, rocks and fairy lights everywhere. It was the peaceful break we were looking for and I can't recommend Chris' house more!

    Brittany2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, and easy check in. Chris provided scones, jam and cream, which was a lovely touch. Comfortable and self contained, parking space available, made it a great place for a short stay. Easy walking distance to Charlestown Harbour!

  • Lovely little place.. full of character and ideal to have a parking space so close to the town..

    Sarah2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quirky little place. Fab location for local shops/ pubs/ beach. It is on the road so a little noisy, but you can’t hear this from the bedroom. Great for 2 people. The cream tea was lovely - thank you! The parking was good, but wouldn’t recommend if you have a large vehicle/ 4x4. The hosts were super welcoming and friendly.

Welcome to our home. A cosy single en suit room overlooking quiet garden.Delicious breakfast in our sunny kitchen. Set in the heart of old Cornish village with stunning views of ocean and river, 2 pubs & wonderful coastal walks to wild beaches. Ideal base for visiting the Eden Project.
Cosy and perfect for some one traveling on their own, overlooking a quiet garden. Price includes delicious breakfast. We do have a dog but she is not allowed upstairs or around the guests at breakfast time.
Polruan is situated at the mouth of the Fowey River accessed by small country roads. From the top of the hill on one side you can look down to the harbour and across to Fowey or turn around and look out to sea. In the summer there are often sailing boats to watch. The village has little narrow streets to explore and is on the South West Coast path. Polruan is a lovely place to relax especially sitting on the quay watching the comings and goings on the river, with occasional dolphin sightings.

Modern apartment with private outside space, ideally situated. Located seconds away from the river Fowey and an easy, five minute walk to the centre of the harbour-side town of Fowey with its beautiful river views and great bars, restaurants and boutique shops. Within walking distance to a lovely beach and a wide range of water-based activities. Public parking available opposite. Fowey is the perfect base from which to explore Cornwall's vast array of attractions and excellent walking routes.
This self-contained apartment is newly decorated and furnished. It has a tasteful, modern design and features art relating to the local area. With double doors opening from the lounge area onto a private decked area with seating and a barbecue, it is the perfect place to relax after a day enjoying the area. It has a well-equipped kitchen and a new, high-spec bathroom. The bedrooms have views over the communal garden areas and feature comfortable beds with memory-foam mattresses and pure-cotton sheets. The apartment is on the first floor and is accessible via both stairs and a lift. It is worth noting that the second bedroom has a small double bed and is more suited to a single adult or two children. The sofa in the lounge extends to a double temporary bed if required (bedding not provided for sofabed).
The apartment is in a great, central location, seconds away from the river and a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fowey. The walk into town is relatively flat (rare for Fowey, it gets pretty hilly off the central streets!). Parking is available immediately outside the apartment (again, rare for Fowey!). There is a great ice cream shop a minute from the apartment. Kayaks can be rented across the road from the apartment building. The car and foot ferry to Boddinick and beyond is very easily accessible and you can drive to and from the apartment without the need to go through the town centre. See here for a birds-eye view of Fowey www.foweyharbour.co.uk/360.
  • Lovely place and a great location

    Kate2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly host who was easy to stay in touch with and allowed us to check in early. The apartment is modern and stylish and very comfortable. It's beautifully clean and a short stroll from the centre of Fowey. We loved staying there and would highly recommend it for a visit to Fowey.

  • A lovely, comfortable and convenient sparkling clean flat, with some very thoughtful touches such as Netflix and a bluetooth speaker. Easy parking across the street and even a lift to get your suitcases upstairs.

  • Lovely clean flat with everything you could need. Super comfy beds and (my personal favourite...) sharp knives in the kitchen! Useful little bits available like tea and coffee, and a phone charger! Its tucked up into the cliff so a little dark without much of a view, but 5 minute walk into town and parking directly opposite. We had a lovely few days exploring and would go back!

    Ailie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a extremely well appointed flat. Lots of nice touches, very comfortable and stylish decor. Good location for the centre of Fowey. Kerry was also prompt to respond and accommodating about arrival and checking out times.

  • A modern and stylish apartment just a short walk from Fowey high street. The public car park is handily just across the road and has reasonable charges. The apartment itself is well appointed and finished to a high standard. Fowey is a lovely Cornish village with a nice mix of old and new pubs, restaurants and cafes.

    Matthew2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay at Kerry’s place. It’s in an excellent location along the high street, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Fowey. The house is sparkling clean, stylishly decorated and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we had a brilliantly restful weekend as a result. Kerry was great to deal with; very quick to respond and helpful with suggestions. We’re already thinking about when we can come back and stay here!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Cobb’s wells. This property had everything we needed for our stay. We took our German shepherd dog with us and this property was big enough for her to run around and had a secure garden for her. This property slept 5 people and was nice and warm. Little touches made us feel very welcome and helped us during our stay. These included, milk & biscuits for our arrival. Dish washer tables and washing liquid were provided. The car parking space provided is also a huge plus in Fowey. Thanks for a great stay and we would highly recommend.

Lostwithiel is less than 2 miles away with a variety of pubs, restaurants and takeaways. A lovely historic small town on the river Fowey with medieval bridge. In the summer you can take a walking tour of the town on Monday mornings, guided by a local historian, and learn some fascinating facts. • Lovely place to stay right in the country. Spotlessly clean and tidy with everything you would need for that stay away. Highly recommended

  • Couldn’t ask for more. Nicely tucked out the way in a very tranquil setting with lovely views over the fields. Very clean, very peaceful and very welcoming. They have done a beautiful job with the Accomodation and their love what what they do shows. Would absolutely return

  • The Fenten Chy at Chark Farm was the perfect place to stay in Cornwall. Just 10 min. drive to Bodmin and 5 min to the Crown Inn, a great old pub in Lanlivery. The place was spotless clean and Jenny and Clive were perfect hosts. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a dishwasher. We and our dog were very welcome, the other cottages on site are great for kids as well. We like to thank Jenny and Clive and we will be back.

  • The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It is centrally located for seeing things in Cornwall, everywhere was less than an hour to get to and there are some good places locally we hadn't expected to find. We got a glimpse of badgers on the farm one evening Lostwithiel is charming, the history tour on Monday morning was good. Lanhydrock National Trust had amazing grounds, gardens and house Bike hire on the Camel Trail was a great way to see Padstow Barbara Hepworth studio in St Ives was excellent - use the local train to get into the town Cliff walk west from Portreath was beautiful

An absolutely stunning apartment. Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers fabulous views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.
Located right in the heart of the historic harbour village of Polruan on the eastern side of the Fowey estuary, this completely refurbished and modernised apartment offers amazing views of the whole of Fowey harbour. Polruan itself boasts two pubs, a cafe, a bakery, and a small village shop, and it is just a 4 minute ferry ride across the river to Fowey with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Cornwall of course has many and varied attractions and activities, but, be warned, you may find that with the fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery, stunning coastal walks, all of the water based activities - harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, self-drive motor boats - and so on, that you don't feel much like leaving the Fowey estuary at all! Take particular care when you pause briefly to sit on the window seat in the sitting room of the Captain's Cabin, you could lose a couple of unplanned, but contented, hours just watching and enjoying all of the activity in the harbour. The passenger ferry runs until 11pm from May through to September which makes staying in Polruan and enjoying the delights of Fowey an easy possibility. Your car can be left either in the Polruan car park or in the Fowey Car Park, should you feel like visiting another part of Cornwall, although crossing the estuary is quite easy via the Bodinnick car ferry. The Captain'sCabin itself is on the ground floor of the building with access through a shared entrance. The apartment is all on one level with the living room to the front, enjoying the fantastic view of the harbour through the enormous bay windows. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room which makes the apartment super warm when running. The kitchen is in a galley style and also enjoys the views. The bedroom to the rear benefits from a 6' double bed that can be split into two 3' singles if that is your preference for sleeping arrangements. This makes the apartment ideal for just a couple of friends sharing as well as couples. Ground Floor only: Entrance hall, living room, fully fitted kitchen, shower room with WC and bedroom with either a 6' double bed or two 3' single beds.
Polruan is based on the south coast of Cornwall on the river Fowey. It is a small village with only one road in or out. There are two pubs in the village, The Lugger and The Russell Inn, both offer an excellent range of food at very reasonable prices. From the quay you will find a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. The journey taking about 4 minutes. Being built on the side of a hill it has, thankfully not allowed too much expansion and commercialisation and as a result has retained much of its charm. In the main street itself (Fore Street - as you will find in most Cornish villages) you will find the Polruan Stores and Crumpets Cafe, on the Quay is The WinklePicker Shop (which is also the Post Office). There is a fabulous walk around the Fowey Estuary called the "Hall Walk" which takes in both ferries and Pont Pill Creek and offers some fabulous views - this is well worth doing. The coastal path offers breathtaking views and access to some fabulous beaches such as Lansallos and Lantic Bay, two of Cornwall's hidden gems. Just across the estuary is Fowey (pronounced Foy) one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Like Polruan it is set on the steep banks of the estuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore and there are numerous small shops and boutiques, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Views of the harbour are dramatic. Life in Polruan and Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. Alongside the fantastic beaches there are many other water based activities to get involved in: Harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, swimming, self-drive motor boats, I understand there is a picnic boat you can hire... and so on. Life on the water culminates in August with the the Polruan and Fowey Regattas where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Falmouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many landbased festivities around the estuary. There are countless attractions near to the Captain's Cabin including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens, the beautiful Luxulyan Valley and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Par duck ponds & woodland walks link to the Clay trail's long distance cycle paths. For garden lovers there are many open gardens to explore including Marsh villa Garden. You are in the heart of Du Maurier country with many places to find on the literary trail. Consult the guide books & folders in the cottage & explore to your hearts content!
  • Gorgeous views, quiet and serene. Have stayed here twice and loved it.

  • We had a brilliant time loved the area ,great places to eat and drink .Apartment was a delight to stay in clean and warm with great views .

  • The most beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from excellent communication to the most exquisite attention to detail throughout the apartment. Could not have asked for a better place to spend my birthday. Just perfect.

  • The many positive comments about this holiday let and its host Jeremy are all certainly true. We arrived to find the Captain's Cabin to be warm and clean with a stylish decor. What a thoughtful and welcome touch the bottle of fizz and homemade brownies was. No one could fail to be impressed by the unobstructed scenery from the bay window in the living room. The large bed was complimented with a cosy duvet and sumptuous pillows. Jeremy has provided an informative 'Welcome Book' which we found very useful for finding out about walks, eating out and general information regarding the surrounding location. The very local Lugger Pub mentioned was a great find for craft beer and good food - I can recommend the lemon sole and steak pie; the menu changes daily. We don't think you'll fail to fall in love with this idyllic place.

  • Fantastic place - beautiful views and flat very well equipped with everything you need.

    Max2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gorgeous peaceful getaway. The window in the front room looks across the river estuary and never fails to give you peace. The town is great and the apartment is just perfect, cozy, comfortable and clean. Just wish we booked an extra night to enjoy Polruan and the b n b even more! Will be back.

    Peter2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem of an apartment, the views are to die for and will keep you sat in the bay window just watching all day ! The fizz and brownies were a lovely touch but I especially liked the fresh flowers. Everything was totally spotless and clean, i was worried about the cream carpet so my husband was made to take his shoes off in hallway especially after a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We unloaded our car at the teashop and then parked in the car park, just remember to keep lots of change handy for this. Totally quiet at night as not near any traffic, but quite steep if you have any mobility problems. We loved it and as it says `once you are there , there is no need to go anywhere` ! We would like to go back in the Summer.

    Clare2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure there is anything we can add to all the glowing reviews of this place. It is everything people say it is, and more – Jeremy is a superb host, and the photos can never do this place justice. It is stunning, and the view will be something you'll never forget. The town itself is within minutes of incredible country walks, friendly pubs and a charming ferry ride to Fowey. We wished we could've stayed for an entire week.

A 10-minute walk will take you to Par beach, pub and the South West coastal path and it’s only 2.5 miles from Fowey & Eden Project! You'll have everything you need here for a great stay and in a fantastic location to explore the surrounding area and the whole of Cornwall. Tea & coffee, pint milk, shampoo, shower gel, towels are all provided. Outside seating and BBQ.
Badgers Dens is a wonderful rural retreat. Perfect at anytime of the year! A big comfy king size bed, double sofa bed, central heating, luxurious power shower, heated towel rail in the ensuite, shampoo & shower gel provided, a well equipped kitchen with tea, coffee, biscuits, pint of milk and filtered water awaits. There is outside space with table and chairs the use of a charcoal bbq and you can pick your own apples in late summer as we have many apple trees! It is situated at the end of a farm track surrounded by fields. A lovely peaceful location between Fowey and Par. You can park right outside the front door and a sensor light will come on when it gets dark. There is a step down to the front door and a step up into the living/bedroom and a step down into the ensuite! We are dog friendly (2 dogs) but ask that their paws stay on the floor and not on the furniture. We have an hand held shower outside for washing muddy boots and dogs and is also great for washing off your wetsuit! The wonderful historic port of Fowey is a 2.5mile drive or a 6 mile walk around the coastal path (or 3.5 miles if you take a short cut inland)! Your able to take a boat trip from Fowey to Mevagissey in the summer months or you could hire and captain your own boat through the harbour! Polkerris is a short walk around the coastal path, a beautiful small harbour and beach with a pub and a restaurant and beach café, the perfect place to watch the sun go down. The famous Charlestown is a 5 mile walk on the coastal path or a 15 min drive. Its featured in many films and is one of Poldarks filming locations. The Eden Project is 2.5 miles away, the lovely working port of Mevagissey is 11 miles, Truro 20 miles, Looe 20 miles, Padstow 24 miles, Falmouth 30 miles. Staying here is a fantastic base as nowhere in Cornwall is more than 1.5hrs drive away. Par is a mainline train station, so getting around even without a car is very easy. There is a range of activities nearby, Woody's Bike Park, a down hill mountain bike park is half a mile away (for adrenaline junkies), kayak hire is available in Fowey as well as sailing and there are a couple of Golf courses and Spas within a couple of miles. Bodmin is 11 miles away, here you can get on the Camel Trail and cycle to Wadebridge and Padstow or a little easier...you could drive to Wadebridge and cycle to Padstow - a lovely flat ride approx 6 miles (one way). You are able to hire cycles at Wadebridge. In Fowey there is an abundance of boutique independent shops as well as Seasalt, Fat Face, Joules and lovely selection of Cafes, restaurants, pubs, delicatessen's, tapas restaurants, fish and chips and pasty shops! In Par (1/2 mile away) you will find a Co op, Spar, Chinese take-away, fish and chip shop, fruit and veg shop, doctors surgery and a couple of miles further you will find St Austell, a large town with all major supermarkets and shops. There is always something going on locally but here are a few of the main events in Fowey:- In May the Art and Literature Festival is on, inspired by the famed author Daphne du Maurier, who spent many years living in and around Fowey. June sees the Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge (30 min drive). August sees the Fowey Royal Regatta, a week long of festival activities daily and live music on the quay in the evening. November/December brings the Christmas markets, with festival entertainment, food and drink and an opportunity to pick up some local Christmas gifts. All of these events are fantastic! You really need to sample them all! There are many walks nearby, coastal and woodland, I have given a few ideas in the information guide in the apartment. There is so much to see and do, one visit won’t be enough!
The house is set in a quiet rural area situated at the end of a farm track surrounded by fields. A lovely peaceful location between Fowey and Par. Plenty of birds, rabbits and foxes and bats frequent the area. Par Sands Beach is a 10-minute walk away along with the south-west coastal path. The Eden Project botanical gardens and other local attractions are only a short drive away. There is a pub within walking distance at the bottom of the hill, Major super markets are only a short drive or there is a local co op only 1 mile away.
  • A beautiful apartment in a beautiful place .... lots of great walks nearby .. varying between the coast and inland. Helpful notes in house. It provided everything we needed and Jackie was most helpful

  • Loved my stay here, our host was welcoming and always on hand if needed, would recommend to anybody, 5/5 star 👌

  • We had a lovely week-end away at Jackie's apartment. The place is very clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed to feel at home! The location is great with the beach only a few minutes walk away and a lot to discover in the area. Jackie is a great host, super welcoming and here to help if you need. Highly recommend staying at Badgers den if you are visiting the area!

  • We had a lovely relaxing two night winter stay here. The “apartment” is full of character, with stone wall interior, oak latch doors and beautifully furnished. The space was ideal for our family of three (two adults and a 12 year old) and dog Bella. We chose this accommodation because it was dog friendly and during our short stay we found plenty of dog- friendly things to do. The outdoor (warm) tap was perfect for washing Bella’s sandy paws after beach runs. The cottage is only a few minutes walk from Par beach. Bella our dog loved it and at this time of year there was plenty of parking which was also free. During the day-time we enjoyed exploring some of the fishing villages nearby, including Mevagissey (we ate chips overlooking the harbour) Polruan (there is a car and foot ferry) Fowey (lovely quaint shops). Although the kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own food we decided that we would make the most of it and enjoy eating out. We highly recommend breakfast at Yummy Scrummy’s, my daughter loved the crepes, and they also have lovely cakes , do cooked breakfasts, lunches and main meals (the main meals / curries look amazing). There is a warm and cosy summerhouse at the rear of the garden which is dog friendly. The staff there were very helpful. In the evening we ate at Sams bar (Par) overlooking polkeris beach. We were able to find a dog friendly taxi as the restaurant is also dog friendly (book a table in advance because it is busy). We thoroughly enjoyed their seafood /fish but there were other things such as homemade pizzas which our daughter enjoyed. Next to the restaurant there is a lovely cozy pub called the Rashleigh Inn (polkeris). We couldn’t eat there because they were hosting a wedding but we had a drink whilst overlooking the sea. On our second evening we enjoyed a takeaway from the Golden Wok (Par) we even had this delivered to our accommodation. They are very busy so we ordered this around 1.5 hours beforehand and it was delivered on time. Our hosts were very friendly, approachable and helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

  • Amazing few days in Jackie's place! Had everything we needed for a cosy weekend.

    Evie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really happy with our stay! Jackie was brilliant and very helpful even supplied towels for our dog when we realised we’d forgotten ours! Place is only a short walk from a lovely beach which the dogs love! There’s amazing food places nearby which aren’t too expensive either. Would definitely recommend

Elegant bedroom with a small sitting room and ensuite bathroom in a quirky Cornish Cottage. Wyvell cottage is surrounded by gently rolling hills close to the Lerryn River (where "Wind In the WIllows" was written) and about 3 miles from the historic harbour town of Fowey. This secret little corner of Cornwall with its hidden coves, dramatic cliffs and stunning walks is a far cry from hectic holiday camps and crowded beaches. Bird watchers ....... dont forget your binoculars!!!
Although this is advertised as bed and breakfast, there is a laundry room to the side of the house which has a fridge /freezer, and basic kitchen requirements, although no cooker. Feel free to buy your own food and have a barbeque under the wisteria or pack a picnic for the beach . Washing machine and dryer are available for longer stays. I do have extra bedrooms and can accommodate up to 2 children in a twin room or 2 adults in a double room so long as they are prepared to share your bathroom. Please chat to me if this is something you would like to do! I also have a Shepherds hut in the garden(please see my other listing) which accommodates 2 adults in style and comfort!
This part of Cornwall is sometimes referred to as Du Maurier country as it is the back drop to many of her novels and her house can be seen perched above Fowey Harbour by the Bodinnick Ferry. The Bodinnick Ferry is just 3 miles away and takes you directly into Fowey with its harbourside cafes, restaurants and shops. In the centre of Fowey you will find an unusual little aquarium full of interesting local fish including the grandson of Lenny the Lobster!! Take a boat from Fowey to Mevagissey (about an hours boat ride along the coast) and you will likely spot some seals sunning themselves! Hop onto another little ferry and go over to Polruan to eat THE freshest and MOST delicious mussels in Cornwall! There is a great Kayack tour of the harbour which takes about 3 hours (including a stop for cream tea...off course!) Here you will learn some fascinating insights into the history of Fowey and as well as paddling over oyster beds, you will float over a marine conservation area where seahorses breed. If you would like me to book this for you in advance let me know or you can book it through Airbnb on the activity page. This area is also the setting for many of the Rosamund Pilcher stories and the German T.V. Series is filmed in and around this part of Cornwall. Not far from Lerryn is the great estate of Lanhydrock. One of the most perfectly preserved great houses of England. It has formal gardens, river walks and the house and stables are a fascinating insight into how these great houses functioned. The village of Lerryn is sited on the estuary and here you can find the Lerryn River Stores with all essentials including great cream teas (on the green by the river) and yummy ice creams !! Ramblers and walkers will be spoilt for choice round here with many walks starting on the doorstep. Off course the famous Eden project is not far as well as the Lost Gardens Of Heligan and many other famous Cornish gardens and historical houses. Charlestown harbour is not far and Poldark lovers will recognize it as the set for many of the harbour scenes. So........... I think you've got the point!! Its an area full of interest and things to do come rain or shine.
  • Everything was really great. Monica is truly a super host. Very friendly and helpful. We will come back. :)

  • The beautiful cottage was set in a scenic area sandwiched between nearby village of Lerryn and Fowey town just across the water. Our room was immaculate with a lovely comfortable bed. Monica gave us a warm welcome and also provided a little private sitting area attached to our room and sole use of the bathroom. Lovely touches such as fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange alongside our croissants and fresh coffee was much appreciated. Monica, without intrusion, was happy to chat and tell us about the local area but equally allowed us as much privacy we would like including a separate outside area to sit and have a drink should we wish. A very memorable and enjoyable stay and we both look forward to returning in the future. Tom & Yvonne

  • My girlfriend and I stayed 4 nights with Monica (the owner) in her beautiful Cornish home and loved every second. We gave her less than 24hrs notice, yet were greeted with a warm smile and very professional manner.... this lady knows what she is doing! Our room was very sweet, cosy, and our bathroom was spotlessly clean. Monica was extremely warm and helpful, yet equally she gave us our space and welcomed us to enjoy her garden and spend time with her fab 2 dogs... The lovely reviews which other people have left are all correct. This is a lovely place to stay, far, far, far nicer than a hotel, extremely good value for money, and both my girlfriend and I left feeling that we will really miss the place! if you are fortunate enough to discover Monica's room is available, or her lovely 'shepherd's hut' outside, then snap them up quickly.... you will not be disappointed! It's a happy place in a beautiful position...-Even the animals (swallows/swifts/squirrels/wood pigeons) seem happy here. Iain and Davina x

  • A beautiful typical English cottage with fantastic garden. The owner has personally refurbished this neglected plot. The results are impressive. Lovely bathroom with even a small bath, the bedroom has a wonderful double bed, we never slept so well in no time. Next to our bedroom was a small sitting room with a wonderful library from which I was able to read 1 book. The cottage has no private entrance but is still very private. The area is fantastic Fowey, Polruan where you can take the ferry. But Monica has all the tips.

The Crow's Nest offers a stylish and cosy self catering flat with double bed, en suite, fully equipped kitchen and views of the surrounding countryside both inland and towards the coast. This third floor apartment, although part of the hosts home, is completely private and just a short walk from Par Sands. It's finished to a high standard and offers excellent levels of comfort. Susie and Joe are friendly, approachable and happy to assist with local recommendations. Well situated for walkers.
1 bedroom with double bed, toilet with shower and fully equipped kitchen. We are well situated, just a 5 minute walk from Par station and on several bus routes. Only a 3 mile drive away or 50 minute walk is the Eden Project. Beautiful Fowey Harbour is just a ten minute drive or you can enjoy the sea views on the short bus ride. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also close by. There are several pubs within walking distance and the Coast path and Clay trail meanders past the house so great for walkers. We also have Carlyon golf course on the doorstep. There are local amenities such as a Co-op store and Spar open 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week. A Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop are also within walking distance. The Crow's Nest makes an ideal base for exploring our stunningly beautiful coastline, small towns and villages.
Just a ten minute drive from Fowey and the Eden project. There are Coffee shops, pubs, a Chinese takeaway and a fish n chip shop plus the beach all within easy walking distance. The coastal path being just twenty yards away and the train station a ten minute walk means we're a convenient place to stay for those on a walking holiday. If you enjoy walking there's a lovely coastal walk to Polkerris with a welcoming pub at the end the Rashleigh Arms Dame Daphne du Maurier (Lady Browning), was an English author and playwright who made this coastline her Cornish home. Just a little further along the coastal path towards Fowey you will walk past a lovely cottage with a lake where she once lived. I'd like to think it was the beach house she spoke of in her novel Rebecca. Another of her books 'House on the Strand' was based in the village of Tywardreath and surrounding area. Why not explore inland and walk one of the many mapped routes, one of our favourite walks is the stunning Luxulyan valley, a twenty minute drive away. Many National Trust houses such as Lanhydrock are also close by however, If you're looking for a more adventurous way to explore from a different view point then we highly recommend one of the stand up paddle (SUP) experiences. You can book lessons, social sups or tasters e.mail: paddlecornwallsup or we can give you details on arrival, it's a great way to explore the river Fowey and it's wildlife. Ask for contact details on booking. If you're a Poldark fan then you can't go home without visiting Charlestown where much of the filming was done. It's a walk back in time and the home to several pubs who serve excellent food and a harbour where you'll see several square rigged ships that are used for filming and training. It's amazing to see them out at sea under full sail and a real treat to watch them negotiate the return to their birth in the harbour
  • The room was amazing! Room and services were very comfortable and the provisions were excellent. Would definitely stay again 10/10

  • Perfect! A wonderful place to stay. The hosts thought of everything we could possibly want during our stay and were willing to go above and beyond what would be expected. Would definitely go back to stay again and would highly recommend to anyone.

  • My wife and I have tried a few Airbnb places. This is the best so far. It’s warm, cozy, spotlessly clean and it’s been tastefully decorated in pleasing colours. The hosts Susie and Joe are very nice. They left us bread, milk, butter, cereals, coffee, biscuits, etc to get us started! There’s lashings of hot water, the heating is on 24/7. All the accoutrements you need to be self catering are provided. The place is a delight.

  • Susie and her husband were wonderful hosts. The Airbnb was fabulous and there were so many homely and personal touches. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of cereals and breakfast treats including home made preserves to go with the bread and croissants . A really cosy and friendly place to spend a few days in the wonderful cornish countryside.

Anne-Marie and Steve offer a warm welcome to Polbrean Studio, a cosy, well equipped, self catering studio which boasts stunning views of the River Fowey in the tranquil village of Golant. Our Studio comprises of a large open plan room with a pull down king size bed, kitchen area and shower room. There is a mezzanine with an additional double bed accessed by a set of paddle stairs. Outside is a seating area where you can sit and enjoy the stunning surroundings and views.
Golant is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the perfect base to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Our Studio is located on the Saints Way, so is ideal for those who wish to trek the many beautiful walks on our doorstep. Encounter Cornwall, based in Golant, provide Kayak Trips which cater for all abilities and take in the scenery and wildlife which inspired the novel, Wind in the Willows. The local pub, the Fishermans Arms, is a short stroll from the Studio and they provide local Real ales and excellent quality pub food, all served with a friendly smile. Golant is 10 minutes drive from Fowey, which hosts a packed calendar of events all year round, the most notable being the Fowey Festival of Music and Words (formally du Maurier Festival) in May, Regatta week and Carnival in August, and the Xmas Market early December. The picturesque fishing towns of Charlestown, Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro are on our doorstep with the cathedral city of Truro only an hour's drive away. Attractions, such as, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Llanhydrock House are also close by.
Golant sits on the banks of the River Fowey and is a very friendly village. We have a great pub, which is open all day from May to October, and then lunch and evening off season, Cafe Kayak is open through peak season and offers delicious homemade cakes and refreshments and our 13th century church, St Sampsons, is amazing and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, Golant no longer has a local shop, supplies may be found in Par, Fowey or St Austell, full details will be provided in our visitors book.
  • Lovely location, clean and well equipped accommodation despite size. Travelled as a couple, more than enough space for two. Host was welcoming and attentive. Parking on site with lovely views and good food in local pub. Would definitely recommend.

  • Nice studio room with a great view. Not far from Fowey, which was good for eating places.

  • Lovely place to stay, beautiful location and the place itself was so clean and tidy with everything you needed for a long weekend away. Only thing to be aware of is it's a very narrow lane to get to the place so if you have a big car you may need to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up! Will be back again soon I'm sure!

  • My friend and I visited for a walking holiday and had the loveliest stay at Polbrean studio. Anne Marie and Steve were very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The space was just perfect for a quiet few days away, and it had absolutely everything we could have needed, including a couple of nice surprises when we arrived (milk, eggs etc). The views from the breakfast bar and little outdoor seating area were just stunning, too, and the locals were incredibly friendly in the village. We both slept like logs and really enjoyed being in such a peaceful spot. We'd love to come back, it was well worth the visit. Thank you for having us x
