Our early settlers cottage was constructed circa 1860s in the State heritage listed town of Mintaro. The original cottage consisted of just two rooms with a lean-to containing rudimentary bathroom and kitchen facilities and of course the "long drop dunny" down the back of the property. There is heritage listed stable complex comprising of three tack rooms built of local slate and stone. Our cottage was originally a part of a larger property and was the entrance to the historic fire engine museum. In the 1990s "The Lolly Shop" traded at the front of the premises hence the name of the B&B. It is reported that the only Australian female survivor of the Titanic, Eleanor Marsden lived in this dwelling. Eleanor survived in Lifeboat 16 on that fateful day and died in Sydney in 1936.
  • Thanks Gail and Ross for a lovely stay...such tailored attention to detail...wine and cheese platter for a late arrival :)

  • We had a lovely time at Gail and Ross' place at Mintaro. What a fabulous little town! The space was perfect and the hospitality warm without beibg imposing. We can't wait to return.

  • I stayed in the old lolly shop for 2 nights, it was extremely relaxing. Gail and Ross are perfect host and check in is a breeze. The cooked breakfast was delightful and cooked to perfection. There is nothing to want for with this BnB. Plan ahead for your evening meal however as the only option is the pub and it’s a bit average. If you are happy to drive, Sevenhill hotel has awesome food or Clare isn’t that far.

    Dean2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful airbnb for our little get away for the weekend. Gail was so helpful in helping us to find the place as we were a little lost in the dark. To then be greeted so warmly the next morning with a brilliant breakfast made the whole trip so wonderful for my partner and I. Not only was the hospitality so wonderful but the place itself was an adorable get away with everything we needed and more. Definitely recommend!

  • Our stay at Mintaro was wonderful. Gail and Ross were so welcoming and spoilt us with a welcome cheese platter, bottle of local wine plus many more extras that is beyond expectations . A cooked breakfast delivered to the door each morning was delicious. We will definitely recommend Mintaro to our friends and be back one day.

  • Chris and Richard are the loveliest people we've met! The place is sparkling clean and their hospitality goes beyond words. We were lucky enough to taste Richard's famous fritata and homemade wine from the vines out the front. We only stayed one night but it felt like going back to a friend's house.

    Juliette2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Chris were welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed a very pleasant evening staying with them. The house is lovely and comfortable and Richard made a delicious breakfast for us. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with beautiful soap. I would recommend this as a great place to stay.

    Glenda2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was my best Airbnb experience ever! Richard and Chris are the best hosts you could hope for. First of all they have a beautiful house, providing all the amenities at a very high standard and a great breakfast cooked by Richard! On top of that, they are both very lovely and generous people, willing to share about their experiences, their life and their passion for wine. We loved talking to them! It really was a pleasure to stay at their place, wish we could have stayed longer!

    Claire2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely easy-going hosts. Private bedroom and bathroom was clean and tidy. Had a yummy breakfast (Richard has a great selection of tea!) before leaving to my next destination. Make sure to pick up a bottle of their wine :)

    Jen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was way too short and we wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you for being such great hosts and for sharing a moment of your daily life with us. Our kids loved picking up the fresh eggs in the morning and spending time with your lovely dog. Thanks again, we'll definitely come back!

    Julia2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A real gem ideally located within close proximity to the beautiful township of Mintaro. The hosts Richard and Chris went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time even sharing some winemaking tips and samples. Highly recommend.

    Stephen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Impeccable hosts. Great communication pre-arrival and really welcoming when we arrived. Beautiful and clean place and equipped with everything you need for our stay. Really appreciate the amazing breakfast in the morning. Best AirBnb we've ever stayed at, complete with a superbly adorable, friendly and playful dog that I would have taken home myself :). Also appreciated and loved how Richard and Chris shared their passions and experiences with us during our short stay. Definitely would recommend a stay at their place.

    Paul2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We booked in last minute and it was no hassle arriving later than we planned. Richard and Chris were so welcoming, the room was spotless and very comfortable. And the added bonus of cooked breakfast... it was delicious! Would stay there again any time! Thanks for having us!

You will find William Hunt's Retreat only 1.5hours drive north of Adelaide in the heritage listed town of Mintaro in the beautiful Clare Valley. Originally a stone barn for William Hunt the retreat has been transformed into two luxurious, modern dwellings, still maintaining the original old world charm. Enjoy a romantic getaway for two in "Redwood", including a two person spa -need more room, "Cypress" has two bedrooms, each with their own ensuite, a large living area and fully equipped kitchen
William and Elizabeth Hunt were among the earliest settlers 1856 in Mintaro and lived in the house just next door on the southern side of William Hunt's Retreat. William was a carpenter and undertaker. He died in 1902 at the age of 91 years. William Hunt's Retreat and the old building on the southern border (still with a shingle roof under the old corrugated iron roof) were the workshops of William and later his son John. William Hunt's Retreat was originally the Carpenter's Workshop, then it became a fuel storage depot. The floor was just dirt and has been replaced with Australian Native Cypress Pine boards. From 1999 this old building was painstakingly restored to initially become a Natural Health Clinic until it was sold and meticulously converted to Bed and Breakfast accommodation. A full history with photos bound in a picture book is located in both Redwood and Cypress Studios for guests to enjoy and soak up the history. In Cypress Studio at William Hunt’s Retreat you will unwind and relax in this historical tranquil setting where you will receive a warm welcome from your hosts Peter and Yvonne Cloke. William Hunt’s Retreat Cypress Studio is ideal for relaxing short breaks, holidays with family and friends or celebrating special occasions such as birthdays, weddings or anniversaries. Ideally located close to wineries and restaurants and walking distance to all that Mintaro has to offer William Hunt's Retreat is known in Mintaro as "the place" to stay for guests to enjoy the history and step back in time whilst savouring in the luxury of a beautifully and tastefully decorated restored barn. A memorable stay is guaranteed.
The Magpie and Stump Hotel is walking distance from William Hunt's Retreat and is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner - it is the perfect place to meet the locals on a Friday night and learn about the history of Mintaro. Reillys Wines is open seven days a week for lunch and wine tasting and you can enjoy coffee and a snack overlooking their vineyard. The famous Martindale Hall is open for visitors every day except Tuesday and you can enjoy a fun time with the family at the Mintaro Maze on weekends and all through the school holidays. A great place for an ice cream or a coffee. So many wineries and restaurants on your doorstep and we can provide bikes on request for those guests who enjoy cycling. We would be delighted to provide you with a memorable stay in Mintaro - the Jewel in the Crown of the Clare Valley.

Mulberry House is a charming, self-contained one bedroom cottage, warm and cosy in the depths of winter and bright and airy through the summer months. Unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for pets or children but ideal for a romantic getaway or simply as a base to enjoy the delights of the Clare Valley. Step back in time and enjoy the wonderful ambience of Mulberry House.
The cottage has a well-equipped country kitchen with a wood fire, a newly renovated bathroom and a bedroom offering a sumptuous king size bed with French doors leading to either the deck or the patio. Generous breakfast provisions are provided and can be enjoyed in the surrounds of the well-established cottage garden.
Nestled in the heart of the Clare Valley in the village of Watervale, our historic 1860’s built cottage is across from the iconic Crabtree vineyard, and just a short walk to the Watervale Hotel and the Watervale General Store. Crabtree, a boutique winery is a must visit experience, the General Store offers a fabulous breakfast and lunch menu and the Watervale Hotel is undergoing a magnificent transformation and will delight the most discerning epicurean!
  • Wonderful place, comfy and relax, there is everything we need and more. lovely hosts...

  • I can’t stop telling all our friends about our stay! Such a perfect little cottage to spend a weekend away amidst the craziness! We arrived to a fire ready to go, cheese and wine in the fridge and the smell of fresh mint and basil which instantly created a homely atmosphere! We really appreciated the little things and attention to detail. From the fresh foliage from the surrounding gardens, soft towels, light reading selection and very generous breakfast supplies! The location was excellent. We spent most of the time enjoying the atmosphere and coziness of the cottage, cooking baked potatoes in the fire and pottering around the property however ventured out for coffee from the general store and a scenic drive to Clare. Could not have had a better experience! Lynn was very approachable, prompt and helpful leading up to our stay and during the stay! Already looking forward to our next stay and to explore more of what Watervale has to offer when the world gets back to the new normal!

    Lisa2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at Waterfall from the Flinders Ranges, feeling a bit grimy from dust and flies. The cottage was gorgeous and everything you could possibly want had been thought of. It is really tasteful, with a beautiful garden, and I happily sat outside with my book and enjoyed the calm. The cottage is sufficiently away from the main road for traffic noise to be distant. There was great coffee and breakfast around the corner at the Watervale general store. We also rated highly Skillogalee winery for lunch, Sevenhill winery for a walk around and wine to be sent home by freight, and a glass under the trees at the pub at Mintaro. Don't bother with the pub at Sevenhill. The bike hire in Clare (Clare Valley cycle hire) was great, good bikes, but I overestimated my fitness or underestimated the gradient of the track, not quite so easy. All in all we were really happy and intend to come back again.

Our much-loved cottage is located on the River Wakefield in the hamlet of Undalya, at the gateway to the Clare Valley wine region. Recently renovated, it’s a comfortable one-bedroom home with wonderful views of the historic basket bridge. Our 120-hectare property is on your doorstep, with kangaroos and abundant bird life along the river and in our wooded hills, and the river pools are home to brown trout and redfin. Great for couples and solo travellers, and dogs are welcome inside and out.
The original two-room cottage was built in the 1860s and over the years has been used as a home, an art studio, and for several years served as the Undalya Post Office. From the front verandah there are fabulous views up the valley and out over the river with its old red iron bridge, built in 1879. You’ll find plenty of wildlife if you walk along our stretch of river or through the hills, which have been left to regenerate for the past 30 years and now provide fantastic habitat for native fauna and flora. And if fishing is your thing, you can try your luck in any one of the 5 or so long pools in our section of the Wakefield River. The cottage has been added to over the years, and a recent renovation has turned it into a comfortable and welcoming one-bedroom home – the perfect base from which to explore the local area and beyond. There is a lovely living/dining room with a large wood heater that warms the whole cottage on cold nights. The kitchen and back room look out over our pistachio orchard and from the bedroom you’ll wake to views out over the river and more often than not the sound of kookaburras laughing. Our place is great for singles or couples, and your four-legged friends are welcome to stay … but you’ll need to keep a close eye on them while they’re outside as there is no fenced garden area attached to the cottage. Amenities The cottage is set up with Netflix and broadband WIFI but we no longer have free-to-air TV as the reception is too unreliable. We provide all the basics you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including bedding, towels, firewood for the combustion heater, tea, coffee, some breakfast supplies and kitchen essentials. The historic town of Auburn is a short drive away and has a well-stocked IGA, a couple of good restaurants/cafes and is the starting point of the Riesling Trail – great for cycling and walking enthusiasts. The Trail has replaced the old railway line and passes through some spectacular countryside, and past numerous wineries, restaurants and cafes on its 22 km journey from Auburn to Clare. The township of Clare offers good shopping facilities, a number of great restaurants and cafes, and an excellent golf course. There’s also a gas barbecue for your use if you’d rather just relax at home and enjoy the views from the front verandah.
Undalya was once a thriving township with three hotels, a school, general store, butcher, saddler and more. Our property now encompasses a number of these old stone buildings and they form part of our work sheds and studio. Ruins of the Cob and Co changing station and Queen's Head Hotel can be seen on our hills to the south, and along our stretch of river are the remains of old wool washing operations and the lime kilns used to power them. Other historic town buildings are now privately owned dwellings, predominantly on the north side of the river. Our cottage is easily accessible from Horrocks Highway and is situated on the old main north road (now a local access road) on the southern side of the old basket bridge, just over 5 km south of the township of Auburn.
  • The cottage at Undalya was one of the nicest air bnbs that we have ever stayed at! A beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable house in the most idyllic setting. Sitting on the veranda as the sun is setting, looking at the gorgeous iron bridge and listening to the birds was absolutely wonderful. Everything needed was provided and of the highest quality, comfy bed, lovely linen and the shower was fantastic. We will definitely be going back and will tell friends and family to go also. Look no further this is the one you should book!

  • A lovely quiet setting with very comfortable accommodation. The amenities were excellent and we really appreciated all of the personal and thoughtful touches that Rachel provided. Rachel's attitude towards responsible and environmentally thoughtful tourism was great and the prompt support with our IT difficulties was also appreciated.

  • What an amazing stay Such a beautiful cottage in a quiet spot close to Auburn. Such lovely touches like a well stocked kitchen with excellent facilities including a well stocked breakfast. Great deck to play scrabble and drink wine and the most comfy bed I’ve slept in for ages. Could not fault this place and could have stayed forever.

  • A great place to stay! Highly recommend!

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel & Michael have taken a lot of care putting together this house. It's the perfect balance of historical charm and mod cons. There are countryside views from every window of the house and the only noise you'll hear is the chatter of birds and the occasional cow. It was the perfect place to relax over the weekend, we spent most of our time sitting on the porch or by the fire with a book and glass of wine. Like everyone else that has stayed - we would recommend this place without any hesitation!

    April & Tim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and well presented very cute cottage. Loved our stay here.

    David2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thankyou Rachel and Michael for having us at your beautiful cottage at Undalya. Our 7 night stay was just what we needed in order to escape the trappings of city life, and to enjoy the countryside and its surroundings in your cute little residence. Most evenings we enjoyed the porch area with the view of the bridge while we had dinner, or to just chill out while having a glass of wine. Also the location was handy to the Clare Valley which we drove to most days, as well as being close enough to nearby towns for day trips and discovering new bakeries, antique stores, and opportunities for scenic pictures to show everyone back home. We would love to come back again sometime and enjoy the cottage, which by the way had everything we needed in it and more. Cheers again for your hospitality and for sharing ‘The Cottage By The Bridge’ with us. Regards, Timm, Arron & Muffin.

  • The cottage in Undalya was a perfect tranquil base for our long weekend in the Clare valley. The situation is truly idyllic, just off the main road next to a bridge over the Wakefield river, this character- filled cottage is beautifully appointed and furnished. We loved our nightcaps, to the symphony of sounds of from the river - cicada, birds and frogs. We’d love to come back again.

  • Fantastic and comfortable place to land during a busy tour. The place was close enough to everything we could have needed but still felt tranquil, peaceful and far from other humans. Great facilities and a very stylish bathroom. The only negative would be the shock I had from the friendly huntsman who was hanging out next to my bedroom door handle when I went to get up in the morning. We gave each other a fright!

The cooked breakfasts were sensational and left us full all day! We could not have asked for a more relaxing stay and didn’t have to worry about a thing. The pool was a perfect place to relax and read and the room boasted qaulity and beauty. Great location and good tips for local experiences / food. We’ll definately be back!

  • We stayed for 2 nights over Easter and were actually upgraded to the cottage next door, Thompson’s Residence. Gorgeous area (can highly recommend dinner at the pub across the road and a visit to Martindale Hall). Short drive to both Auburn and Clare with access to all the great wineries (our pick was Kilikanoon). The breakfast hamper was wonderful along with some sweet treats and a bottle of Reilly’s fortified Shiraz. The house was a little chilly (to be expected in an old cottage!) but the electric blankets and heater more than made up for it. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Pat's place was wonderful! It had everything we needed, very clean, neat and tidy. Pat was an excellent host, great with communication and made us feel very welcome. One tip - if you know that you will be arriving after dark it would be a good idea to let Pat know so that he can put lights on in advance so that its nice and easy for you to find the exact location as there are a couple of properties in the area. Highly recommended - you won't be disappointed!

    Olivia2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rucioch's BnB was just superb!! A gorgeous space that the photos didn't do justice to. Communication with Pat was easy, prompt and so friendly and helpful. He helped us organise hire eBikes and gave suggestions for local eateries (which were exceptional!). Everything we could have wanted was there, and then some. From thoughtful supplies in the pantry cupboard and fridge (like quality cereals, butter, condiments), a very well-stocked cutlery, crockery and utensil supply, some wine and chocolates, plenty of heating and cooling options (not that we needed them, the place is new and well insulated), and even a Bluetooth speaker for music. The towels were soft, the beds were comfortable, the outdoor setting got well used. The quiet country surrounds were lovely, but we were close enough we could have ridden our eBikes to the main Riesling Trail wineries and back if we had chosen to (maybe not push bikes unless you are fit and up for the exercise). We were so impressed we actually played a game while we were there, to see if we could spot something they hadn't thought of to provide, and every time we thought of something we realised that it, too, had been provided! Faultless. Thanks Pat.

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend this B&B. Pat has thought of everything from kitchen appliances to breakfast provisions in the fridge and pantry. The property is extremely clean, very quiet and in a great location to explore the Clare Valley. We had a great time.

    Ian2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, about 15minutes out from Clare. Spacious house - the photos don't do for how big it is. Plenty of nice touches too.

    Joshua2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's place was perfect, sparkling clean, modern, well-appointed (we especially enjoyed using the bluetooth speaker provided), and we loved the country setting, surrounded by vineyards and regional history. BBQ and great, shaded outdoor dining area. Communication with Pat prior to our arrival was spot on, and check in was a breeze, with the keys in a lockbox. The house is actually more spacious, brighter and better appointed than it appears in the photos. It was a perfect, central location from which to explore the beautiful Clare Valley and tour its excellent wineries. I would definitely stay there again.

    Marc2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! Great facilities, and picturesque views from all sides. Clean, tidy and feels like home.

    Christopher2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely beautiful gem of a place in a tranquil serene bushland setting between Mintaro and Clare. Pat really is the most considerate and thoughtful Superhost! Everything to make guests feel welcome and at home have been considered! The most generous offerings of wine, chocolates, juice, milk bread and array of breakfast foods and condiments, comfy bed and warm quilt, heating and cooling for every room, were so very much appreciated! We had an absolutely wonderful relaxed stay and enjoyed beautiful Clare in the Spring time! Our heartfelt thanks from Peter and Georgea

Beds are comfy, fireplace is lovely, everything is very clean and peaceful. It's not the best place to lounge around, as there's no lounge/sofa - only chairs, but a great option if you're going to be out and about most of the time anyway.

Not your ordinary BnB, read the whole listing to fully appreciate what’s in store! Our beautiful 1850's cottage has been lovingly restored and renovated, now offering modern facilities while retaining its old charm and warmth. A short distance from the town of Watervale, its quiet seclusion offers you a private experience to share with family and friends, yet close enough to local townships for easy access to shops, hotels, bakeries, art galleries, antique stores and of course, famous wineries.
If your preferred dates seem blocked on our calendar, please message us as we may be able to assist. Breakfast provisions to cook your own breakfast are provided for the first morning. You have access to the full pantry of cereals etc after that. This is our home which we are making available for your stay. This means you’ll notice a comfort, warmth and energy that is often missing from a formal BnB that is only used by guests. The cottage offers two full-size bedrooms within its solid stone walls (one queen bed, one double bed), plus a separate bedroom housed alongside the main building in a 1960's schoolroom sourced from the nearby Blyth Primary School (one double, one single bed). The cottage has a bathroom containing a bath, shower and toilet and a second toilet located in the laundry. The laundry has a washer and dryer. The lounge has a TV and a combustion wood heater for the cold winter nights. Wood is provided free of charge. The front bedroom, the dining room and the school room have air conditioning, the front and back bedrooms also have ceiling fans. Portable heaters and fans are also available if required. The main bedroom queen bed mattress is quite firm, the second bedroom double bed mattress and all other beds are softer. In summer, we swap the dining and lounge rooms over so you can use the air conditioner for cooling. The combustion heater is therefore not available during the months of December through March. Prices listed are for 4 people accessing the two main bedrooms. Extra guests are at $50 each per night. If there are 3 or 4 guests and access to the "Schoolroom" 3rd bedroom is required (ie 3 or 4 people spread over more than 2 beds/bedrooms) there will be a $50 extra one-off charge regardless of the number of nights. Weekly and monthly discounts are automated by the booking system, please enquire about discounts for 4 to 6 nights.
The famous Clare Valley, with all it has to offer, is literally at your doorstep. The internet is your best gateway to finding what's on offer. Say hello to Tim and Cass at Tim McNeil Wines right next door, within walking distance, open weekends. Many more wineries are all within a short drive or bike ride away. Check out the Riesling Trail if you've brought your bikes with you, or hire one from Cogwebs bike hire in Auburn. The Watervale Hotel does superb food and the Watervale General Store is quirky and tasty!
  • Lovely cottage to get off the grid and enjoy the Clare valley region. Cleanliness was outstanding and the big breakfast and other amenities were fabulous! Clare valley wineries were an easy drive and views of the nearby vineyards were lovely. Highly recommend!!

  • Extremely comfortable and peaceful, quiet place with plenty of room. Hosts were great and very helpful. The pantry was very well stocked as well as the generous breakfast provisions. Bed linen was luxurious and the best bed we've ever slept in, in Air B&B (and we've stayed at many both in Oz and overseas). We will certainly be back if Dean & Duc will have us!

    Jill2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, peaceful house, with wonderful garden to relax in. Responses to questions was fast and Informative, and on arrival we had the nice surprise of a gourmet breakfast. Had a great time and will certainly come back

  • Communication was very quick and helpful with detailed instructions on how to get into the property and suggestions/recommendations on where to go and where to eat. The property is ideally situated to explore the Clare Valley and is in a very quiet location in the country. Dean and Duc have furnished the cottage very thoughtfully including leafy displays in vases, playing cards, balls for our small dog, games and a good selection of DVDs. The provisions they left for breakfast were extremely generous and lasted us at least two days. There was a wonderful selection in the fridge and pantry and a full fruit bowl was an additional treat which was really appreciated.
William and Elizabeth Hunt were among the earliest settlers in Mintaro 1856 and lived in the house just next door on the southern side of William Hunt's Retreat. In Redwood Studio at William Hunt’s Retreat you will unwind and relax in this historical tranquil setting where you will receive a warm welcome from your hosts Peter and Yvonne Cloke. William Hunt’s Retreat Redwood Studio is ideal for relaxing short breaks, holidays with family and friends or celebrating special occasions such as birthdays, weddings or anniversaries.
Enjoy the beautiful historic township of Mintaro with wineries and cellar doors at your doorstep. We would be delighted to provide you with a memorable stay in Mintaro - the Jewell in the Crown of the Clare Valley.
  • This place is a little slice of heaven! I spent a weekend away at the William Hunt redwood retreat and was blown away by the moment I got there. It is an incredible rustic/stylish place! The old stone brick walls matched with the modern style made it a hidden gem in the beautiful town of Mintaro. Yvonne has done incredible with the place and all the little touches made it that much sweeter. It is a super clean space with great amenities. You literally only need to bring your clothes and a phone charger or leave your phone at home! The studio had absolutely everything you could think of. Breakfast provisions were more than enough for two people every day with plenty to spare. Spa bath was incredible. Location was amazing for those wanting to explore Clare Valley and all it had to offer. Only a couple minute walk from the Magpie and Stump hotel where I had the best steak I’ve ever had in my life! The new owners are great and love to have a chat with the patrons. Thankyou so much Yvonne for an amazing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of adelaide in this super relaxing and homely retreat. I can not wait to come back and visit again. Sam

  • Exceeded expectations, cannot fault. We are regular airbnb users and this is a favourite. House was sparkling clean, large deck overlooking creek and grass lands. Very peaceful. Fridge was stocked with bacon, eggs, tomatoes, butter and locally baked bread. Cupboards were full of condiments, cereals and all the cooking appliances you could need. We were even left a bottle of local wine which was lovely. Huge shower with amazing pressure. Hair dryer, shampoo etc supplied. Second toilet in laundry is handy. Front yard is fully enclosed with grass and gardens for kids and pets. We enjoyed a meal at The Rising Sun which is across the road and had a quiet night in with a game of Jenga in front of the fire. Netflix and a huge selection of cd's and dvd's available for use. Nice coffee at Velvet and Willow down the road. Lock box makes for a seamless check in/out. Neville was very prompt in communication. We will definitely be back!

Would recommend this place and would stay again in future.

  • Cosy in Clare comes with our recommendation. Cindy is an obliging and helpful host who is a great source of knowledge of the Clare Valley. The gesture of some biscuits to send us on our journey to our next destination was such a nice touch and reflects upon Cindy's willingness to provide guests with a memorable stay.

Spend a relaxing time in my own home which is an 1860’s cottage in the lovely village of Auburn in the Clare Valley. Walking distance to the Rising Sun Hotel and Terroir Restsurant plus Velvet and Willow or Rice’s Creek for breakfast, lunch or coffee etc
My cottage is suitable for one or two couples
The village of Auburn is situated 1.5 hours from Adelaide. We are the called ‘The Gateway’ to the Clare Valley as we are the first of the 4 towns on the way to Clare . It is also the start of the fantastic Riesling Trail and the beginning of all the fabulous wineries in the valley
  • Cottage is excellent, well presented, homely and relaxing, definitely worth a trip.

  • Callier Cottage is outstanding accomodation in Auburn. Perfect place to explode the Clare Valley from. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Definitely a home away from home. Very clean and comfortable. We were not disappointed and in fact it exceeded my expectations. Thank you.

  • Rosemary’s place was absolutely delightful. It was very homely, decorated beautifully and felt as though you were walking into a French provincial house and garden. Stunning! Rosemary was kind enough to leave us some staples which got us going for the day, though the place was so lovely we didn’t want to go anywhere! Comfortable beds and living area, this was an ideal getaway to reduce stress and feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Rosemary’s place and look forward to staying again some time. Rosemary herself is extremely lovely and very accommodating :)
