When winter falls, Morin-Heights transforms into the Laurentians’ cross-country ski capital. The Aerobic Corridor offers 200 kilometres of interconnecting trails for skiing and snowshoeing. Downhill skiers and snowboarders have the run of a nearby resort. The town is also a haven for those who want a place to relax, with spa facilities available for pampering. You can spend hours in its charming general store, shops, and restaurants, but the town’s greatest assets are its peaceful, serene setting and fresh mountain air.

Morin-Heights is a great place to be from late November to April, with a range of chalet rentals available. The Aerobic Corridor and ski resort are open all winter to enjoy. It is very cold, so ensure you pack your best thermals, jackets, and gloves. Summer brings plenty of sunny days along with mountain breezes. It’s a good idea to pack a jacket with sunscreen, as it can get fresh at night. In August, a folk festival takes place in the village, showcasing musicians and artists from the local area, with food and drinks available. In spring, the Aerobic Corridor blooms with wildflowers, and in fall, the colours turn golden, making it a delight for hiking. In September, the Colours Festival at Mont Avalanche nearby celebrates the changing season with music, food, and entertainment.

Sommet Morin-Heights

Grab your snowboard or skis in winter and take off down this easy run. There are three lifts located close together, which makes getting around convenient. Morin-Heights is known for consistently great skiing and snowboarding conditions, and the surroundings are breathtaking with natural beauty all around. Ski lessons and ski gear rental are also available.

The Aerobic Corridor

This trail starts in Morin-Heights and gently makes its way up nine kilometres to the picturesque town of Montfort, following creeks and low-level lakes. From Montfort, you can continue for 49 kilometres through lush forest until you reach the small town of Amherst. The corridor is a bucket list item for many experienced cyclists, but even beginners can enjoy this trail. In the winter, you can return to ski or snowshoe along it.

Saint-Sauveur

Take a short 10-minute drive to the cute little village of Saint-Sauveur. You can spend hours shopping on Principale, the main street, or if you love getting a bargain, head to the town’s factory outlets. The village also has many restaurants, ranging from fine dining to fast food, and there are coffee houses if you prefer an espresso and slice of cake. For a little luxury, the village is home to Nordic spas where you can pamper yourself.
