This Guest House Studio Apt. is located just a couple block from famous "City Park" and close to music venues- jazz fest. Walk to stores, restaurants and free secure parking . All new, nicely done. The Studio is located on the back side of our property and is completely detached from our main house. Ideal place if your looking to be a little out of the downtown city area and desire City Park location, with free parking that is secure, a patio to enjoy a meal or smoke. Ideal for a couple or 3
The studio is good size for a couple and has the option of a Murphy Pull down bed out of the closet, if you have a 3rd person. Please let us know if you are 3 people, so we leave linen for the Murphy bed and proper towels. There is a small kitchenette, with a fridge and microwave. Utensils and plates are left for 3 people. The outdoor bistro set is for 2 people. Many food stores and local restaurants can be walked or biked too. We are a very pet-friendly. We do require $ 10.00 per pup max 2 per booking, cash on arrival. This is charged after your departure as an extra fee.
  • The space was good value for money. However we had to wait outside in the cold weather in the middle of a foreign neighbourhood as the host did not send us the entry code to the property. We advised ahead of time that we did not have wifi so we required the access code ahead of time and we were told we would get the code by midday. We arrived about 5pm and had no response from the host. We got to the property and waited about 2 hours in the cold with no access. We finally were let in by someone who came to tend to the property (thank goodness). The space was good but communication was very poor and put a very bad start to our honeymoon. After meeting the host she was apologetic about the situation and the rest of our stay was fine.

  • This place is exactly as described, very comfortable, offers great privacy, and is in close proximity to all kinds of attractions. I would definitely stay here again as it's a great value!

  • Cool space for a short trip in New Orleans. Love the front yard and how private it is.

  • My son and me had a wonderful time in New Orleans. We enjoyed staying at this cute little guesthouse. It has everything you need and Leonor makes sure you feel comfortable. My loggage got lost at the airport and they brought it to the house in the middle of the night. Leonor opened the door and made sure I would get my suitcases right away. Thank you for your great hospitality!

  • It was a nice convenient place to stay at with our dogs during our trip in New Orleans. The French Quarter and Bourbon street were both about a 10-15 min drive. It was a nice location for Uber pick up as all we had to do was walk out to the front of the house and meet them at the stop sign right in front. The space is nicely sized for 1-2 people. It was great to have our 2 large dogs with us as well. The yard is nicely sized and we can walk around the neighborhood with our dogs as well. Parking fits two sedans and there is additional parking in the grassy area across the way. The only issues that we had were: 1. The very strong smell of smoke that was in the house and everything in it. There were air fresheners placed in the vents that connected the room to the rest of the house, but it didn't help. Also, the smell was in all the towels, blankets and pillows. Due to the fact that we are not smokers and not used to the smell, we had headaches in the morning. 2. One of the doors were broken so we couldn't just leave our dogs to free roam in the yard so that they could do their business while we were getting ready.

Bright and Funky. This is a 1930's double shotgun style home lovingly restored to a single family house with private rooms. House was abandoned since Katrina and its being renovated from top to bottom (literally, there was a tree through the roof when we bought the place) Trying to preserve all the best period details like the awesome bathroom tile, sculpted ceilings, and kitchen plaster work. Bikes, helmets, and bike locks to get around town. WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE! Everyone is welcome regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, religion, creed, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. NO PLACE FOR HATE NO PLACE FOR FEAR 18STR-18462
Mid City is where it is at! We are a quick trip (15 minute / 1.5 miles) to the French Quarter. The beautiful Bayou Saint John, St Louis Cemetery #3 and City Park are right around the corner. Of course Mid City is where the locals live so you can check out all the hidden gems in our neighborhood. Check out our GuideBook to see recommendations for things to do in Mid City
  • The location is about five to ten minutes walk to a street car stop, which is about a twenty minute ride away to downtown. The room we stayed was clean and pretty. Trishell was also very nice and helpful with suggestions to plan our trip. The bikes at the place were useful to navigate around the gigantic city park. We had a good stay and recommend this option!

    Howard2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this home. Brian was super nice and seemed to be always available. We used the bikes to ride to the French Quarter (along the greenway, so very safe) and also to go the local coffee shop in the morning. The bikes were in good shape and Brian even had helmets for us, which I really appreciated. You can also walk to several restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, which is nice. Oh, and there is a Whole Foods within easy walking distance, and a little coffee shop next door (Liberty’s Kitchen) that has good coffee, great breakfast tacos, and fabulous prices. The room itself is at the back of a New Orleans shotgun-style house. You walk behind the house to enter. There is a door that locks between your bedroom/bathroom and the rest of the house. Feels very private. Both the bedroom and the bathroom are comfortable. If you have never stayed in a New Orleans neighborhood before, you might wonder if it is safe to walk around. Once you get used to the feel of the city, you will realize that it is indeed a great neighborhood. We loved it, and felt safe walking and biking everywhere. Excellent location to access different parts of the city. Highly recommend a stay here!

  • We had a great stay at Trishells, who was very welcoming and we felt right at home. The house is lovely and being able to use the bikes was fantastic with a 15 minute ride to the French Quarter. The neighbourhood also has some fantastic bars. Thanks again!

  • Brian and Trishell's place is a treat! I loved the little traces of other travelers in their airbnb. We were only in New Orleans for 3 nights but really enjoyed our stay, and their place is really close to the RTA which takes you everywhere! The place is so cozy and really loved the backyard area!

    Nicole2018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying in Trishell and Brian's home. Mid city is a really neat area with so much to do, and the house feels like home! They were very prompt in answering any questions we had and were very nice- Will definitely be back in the future!

    Erica2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Super easy to get to French Quarter through street car or Uber. Although I was out most of the time, when I did see Trishell she was super kind and helpful with any questions I had and always asked me how my day was. I would definitely come back to stay again the next time I come into town!

    Arianne2017-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Trishell and Brian. Both are welcoming and great trip advisers with many good tips and ideas for day/night activities. The internet was not working during our stay, but Trishell let me use her phone for planning the days. So for us no stress at all. The house is colorful with a very individual nice interior and its close to the cablecar. I can only recommend a stay.

Cozy, comfortable, complete, private, just the right space, queen size bed, extra twin size sofa bed, fully equipped eat-in kitchen, full bath w/shower, washer/dryer, central heating/air, cable TV with Wifi
Supermarkets (Win Dixie, Rouses), stores (Walgreens, Office Depot) , and restaurants (Mandina's, The Ruby Slipper, Juan's Flying Burrito, 5 Guys to name a few) are within walking distance. Street Car line is only two blocks away ( 2.2 miles 10-15 minute ride to downtown, French Quarter, the Superdome; 1.5 miles 10-15 minute ride to Museum of Art, Voodoo Festival, Jazz Festival).
Located perfectly far enough away from everything to be quiet but close enough to get into the action in about 10 minutes.
  • Louis was a great host. It was also a great location, right down the street from the Ruby Slipper and a very short walk to the street car which we took downtown everyday. We were also able to park right in front of the house which made it nice. Everything was very clean inside with everything we needed. It felt like we were staying in a very nice hotel not just some random Airbnb room. I recommend Louis to everyone looking to stay in New Orleans.

  • Great accommodation as far as value goes. Everything you could need as far as a comfortable stay. I would recommend this location. Just be aware there is a lack of explicit directions with the type of lock he uses and it can be misleading on the actual number of guests that are allowed. None the less, I personally had a good stay.

    Emily2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Louis met us as soon as we arrived at the apartment! He checked back with us a few days later to make sure everything was acceptable. The apartment is in a good location, close to the trolley, close to good restaurants and bars, yet the neighborhood is quiet. The apartment is small but with so many fun things to do in NOLA, we did not spend much time at the apartment. We will stay here again!

    Sue2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing find! Location was perfect with getting into the French quarter a breeze! You of course have the trolley but even uber was super reasonable. Will for sure stay again if in the area!

    Rachael2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay! Easy walk to the street car and to our favorite breakfast place, Biscuits and Buns on Banks!

  • Wonderful place to stay! Super clean and great neighborhood. Louis was so sweet, we went to New Orleans to celebrate our anniversary and he even left us a card and banner upon our arrival! I would absolutely love to stay again!

My sweet cottage is located in a beautiful res. just blocks from City Park, Jazz Fest and pub. transp. Just 1 mi. from the French Quarter & walking dist. to small food stores and restaurants. 2 bdrms, one bath and a porch. For 3-5 persons who enjoy quiet. I live in a sep. attached apt. Thanks for going sock-feet if possible. This is a charming older home 4 blocks from a beautiful bayou.
There are New Orleans touches including a wonderful front porch. The two bedrooms are on the top floor with the bathroom and the bottom floor has the kitchen and living room with a big sofa. The beds and the sofa are quite comfy. I seek gentle respectful guests. No parties, please. I'm a friendly artistic teacher and entrepreneur. My street and neighborhood are beautiful and convenient to many things--even by foot. Street parking only. There is no television here but there is internet so you can stream!
The neighborhood is one of the best in New Orleans in terms of beauty and locale. You're right in the center of everything--- shaded by oaks. City Park is beautiful and is just blocks away. It houses the New Orleans Museum of Art and the sculpture garden that is one of the best in the country.

  • Great host- Susan was very quick with her responses whenever we had a question. Home was very quiet and clean and walking distance from a grocery store, and a quick uber from anywhere in the city. Hope to come back soon!

    Whitney2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is within walking distance to the city park, museum, & several famous restaurants. I needed to take an Uber if I traveled to the French district or garden district, but it was not too terribly expensive. The home is an older home so it was interesting to stay in & and the neighborhood was quite lovely

    Janelle2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great experience with Susan at the cottage. She always tried her best to make sure our stay is pleasant. The A/C broke down before we arrived so I was worried given the hot weather of NoLa, but Susan got us fans and these mini A/Cs for the bedrooms plus she had the central air fixed very quickly. Anyway, we would highly recommend her place. Beautiful neighborhood, close to everything. About $7 Uber gets you to Canal St and French Quarters, $6 to City Park.

    Trang2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was a such a nice, friendly and helpful host When we needed medical help she looked for some doctors in New Orleans. She let us use her kitchen when the electricity did not function. I recommend everybody to stay at her house.:)

    Fabian2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time in NO thanks to this wonderful place. I was a little worried about the neighborhood as I am not familiar with NO at all and was traveling alone with my teenage children. I did a little research and decided to give it a shot. The neighborhood was GREAT. We never felt unsafe and the next morning when we walked to a coffee shop a few blocks away we were delighted by our surroundings. Susan was a doll. Made sure we had what we needed but was not intrusive in the least. She left some notes about her favorite places- very helpful. We used Uber to get back and forth from the French Quarter as parking can be iffy and it was $7-10 depending on the time of day. The house was clean, Susan was great, the neighborhood was charming, the music was rockin and the beignets were hot! When we come back to NO we will stay with Susan.

    Casey2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was a fantastic host! Hope to come back to the same place again in the future!!

  • Staying with Priyanka was great: First, our booking was cancelled by Airbnb due to technical stuff but Priyanka helped us figure everything out and was exceptionally patient throughout the process. The apartment was tidy, comfortable and contained everything you need.

    Tabea2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Priyanka"s place was adorable, she really went the extra mile. Very welcoming, clean, and in a great location! Highly recommended!

    Melissa2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean, and the hostess was very responsive. The location was a 2 minute walk to the trolley and far enough outside the French Quarter for peace and quiet but close enough to go back to the house anytime without feeling like it being a special trip. Overall a great experience.

    Jennifer2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay here! The place was even bigger than we had expected, and Priyanka even set a second bed out for our additional guest. Very clean, cozy, safe, and conveniently located. I would happily stay here again.

    Ellie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a brilliant house in a good location of NOLA. I was only there for 2 nights due to prior commitments but wish that it could have been longer. You have the house to yourself, it is clean, immaculate with everything you could want. Close to the streetcar which takes you downtown. Thoroughly recommended.

    Neville2018-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The home is very clean, comfortably furnished with easy access to the trolly. I didn’t have a car, but had no trouble catching the trolley to the Quarter. Priyanka responded to my queries quickly and I had no trouble using the lock box for self-check-in (she provides a step-by-step guide, with pictures!)

    Randy2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Priyanka's place is a short distance from all of Nola's best attractions, and makes for a wonderful stay! I recommend it!

Our Mid-City private unit is 1 block off Canal St and the street car, walking distance to City Park and several other amazing local neighborhood bars and restaurants. A 5-10 minute drive to downtown & FQ or walk a block to the streetcar stop Some notable amenities-Full kitchen, central air/heat, WiFi, LCD television & Cable, Washer/dryer, full bath. Living amenities: Queen bed, futon, linens, towels & washcloths, pots/pans & dishes and basic necessities like toilet paper and paper towels.
Completely renovated half of a "shotgun double" (essentially a duplex for those not familiar with New Orleans), about 650 sq/ft. Our home was built in the early part of the 20th century (c. 1906). Through our renovation, we took extensive measures to maintain the historic nature of our home and fuse with modern conveniences.
Mid City is a great part of town to spend your time in New Orleans because it's roughly a 10 minute drive to just about any tourist attraction you might enjoy (e.g. in the French Quarter, CBD or Uptown). It's a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and also has some of the best places to eat and visit for entertainment in the city. There's always street parking in front of or near our house if you bring your car, which is safe to leave and there is no cost for parking.
  • We loved our stay in Mid City. It was really fun staying in the New Orleans style “shot gun” house and the location was close to the streetcar and a quick Uber/Lyft ride to wherever we wanted to go. Glenn provides a folder with his local recommendations which we referenced several times throughout the trip. Overall a great place to stay for our first trip to Nola!

    Bethany2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's place was great! Quick access to the streetcar line made going into the city quick and easy! The home was very comfortable and had all the essentials.

    Deb2018-09-13T00:00:00Z

  • Glenn is an amazing host! There is information available in the home about what to do in NOLA and if there isnt, Glenn will guide you in the right direction and respond in minutes! Home is very clean with everything you could need for a great trip!

License #18STR-11394 Our small studio is attached to the back of our house, is separated by a locked hallway door, and is accessed from the side yard. We are in a quiet, not touristy, historic neighborhood called Parkview, which is close to City Park and Bayou St. John (Jazz Fest). We do not recommend walking to the French Quarter. There are streetcars and buses around the corner that will take you there. It’s also a cheap cab/ride share. And there’s a bike share station nearby.
The studio is small and has a desk, queen bed, walk-in shower, whirlpool, mini fridge, coffee maker, mini-split AC and heat, 30" TV, and a reading chair. The whirlpool heats the water only when the jets are on. Our home is a traditional New Orleans shotgun and is about 100 years old. The studio is an addition to the house. We don’t know when. The bathroom was updated soon after the storm. You are welcome to enjoy our yard space too. There’s a cafe table and chairs, fire pit, and a bench.
Our little neighborhood is called Parkview. Its classified as historical because of the architecture. There’s a mix of home owners and renters, people of all ages, life long residents and newcomers. We make eye contact and greet everyone we pass by, and all of New Orleans is like that. The location is close to City Park and Bayou St. John. We saw an alligator in City Park the other day. The bayou and park are great places to go for a walk or get some exercise. You can get beignets and cafe au lait at Morning Call in the park and see interesting birds. Ours is not a high-density neighborhood, but one can still walk to great restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, shops, and public transit.
  • Matt's little shotgun studio was great! We were close to Esplanade and the surrounding Bayou St. John neighborhood. I highly recommend the location to anyone looking at spending time in New Orleans

    Carson2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The boyfriend and I stayed at this studio in Mid-City for 3 nights during our trip to New Orleans, and we couldn't have had a more pleasant experience! Excellent location, safe neighborhood, cozy atmosphere, and A+ hospitality from our host Matt. Short walk away from some great brunch spots and the Bayou Boogaloo music festival. Easily accessible to and from by Uber/Lyft. Clean, private, and comfortable interior amenities. Would definitely recommend~! :)

    Kristina2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and his family are great! Very responsive and helpful. The decor is adorable, they offered local recommendations and left local snacks and beer for us to sample. We really enjoyed the location. Right around the corner there is an amazing BBQ place (Blue Oak) that we highly recommend. We also really enjoyed late night Uber Eats from Felipe’s that really hit the spot after our concert. Definitely make your way to Frenchmen Street— the music and art is incredible. We really enjoyed the Museum of Death, as well. Enjoy your trip to NOLA. This location made ours truly memorable. OLGA.

    Stephanie2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Unique comfy studio in a what seems to be young section of New Orleans. Right next to the street cars. Matt is awesome and super helpful I definitely recommend to this place to everyone

    Nicholas2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Matt was a great host. He kept in touch with us, and when we had a question he was quick to respond. The location of his house was great. Close to public transportation, and walking distance to City Park. My wife and I both had a great time.

    Ivan2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a wonderful 1 night stay in Matt and Dana's home on our trip to Jazz Fest. The accommodations were perfect. Matt was very responsive to texts and emails. The studio apartment is set up so nicely for 2- tons of character and attention to detail. We were surprised it even has a mini refrigerator. We loved the cold water and cookies left for us after our evening out in the city! The streetcar stop is just around the corner and tons of places to eat within walking distance. We felt perfectly safe in the area. Loved it and will recommend to others!!

    Janet2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, wonderful personal touches. Awesome backyard with plants and friendly chickens. Bed very comfortable!

    Megan2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and his family were great hosts! The apartment (which is attached to the main house) was clean, functional, and fun. The location is excellent - quiet and off the main street, but a short walk to city park, the street car, and a variety of local bars and restaurants. Having a parking spot was really helpful. The neighborhood seemed safe and the people were really friendly. It's also an easy ~15 min uber or drive to just about anywhere else you would want to go in NOLA (french quarter, downtown, garden district, etc.). Not many negatives, but there was some occasional dog barking and other noise from the house during the day (not super early in the morning). Due to water heater limitations, the giant jetted tub is hard to completely fill with hot water - you can take a hot bath w/o jets or a warm-ish bath with the tub full enough to turn on the jets.

Stay here & enjoy 2 passes to New Orleans Boxing Club for the duration of your stay. Check out the Club on IG @neworleansboxingclub. The apt is also on the Lafitte Greenway, which is a beautiful biking path stretching from the French Quarter to City Park. Also enjoy Bayou St John, where locals go to play in the sunshine, jog, & kayak.
****Update**** This is the second season we have done this and we learn through your experiences. Thank you for your reviews. We have fixed the issues that were brought to our attention through the early reviews, including the wifi. We love doing this and plan to continue improving the quality of your experience. This space is all you need and nothing too fancy- the essentials - bedroom, restroom, microwave, refrigerator, desk space, closet with hanging and drawer space. What makes this spot special is the location and the incredible community. The people on this block are amazing. We treat each other like family, no matter where you come from, what you look like, what you do for a living, etc. This is a true New Orleans special with lots of character. I am a seventh generation New Orleanian, and this is probably the most authentic neighborhood in the city today. It is full of characters, charm, convenience, culture, accessibility, and excitement. If you are looking for a plain jane vanilla place to stay, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for one of the coolest crescent city experiences stay here and blend in with the locals.
This location is as authentic NOLA as you can get. The people here are local and colorful. The Boxing Club is right across the street. That gym has done a lot for the community. Legendary fighters train in this world famous boxing club. Check it out on IG @neworleansboxingclub. You'll get to work out for free here, lucky you. Blocks from Wholefoods, tons of restaurants nearby and fun activities. Beautiful City Park is very close, which is where the New Orleans Museum of Art is, along with City Park Amusements (small theme park), and Storyville, not to mention the incredible sprawling hundred year old oak trees and beautiful scenery. Downtown/French Quarter is a mere 1.7miles away. Just bike down the Lafitte Greenway. There are parks along the Greenway, baseball field, football field, basketball, all kinds of things. This neighborhood is truly special, unlike any other neighborhood in the City.
  • Very friendly neighbours and host. Everything we needed was in our room (city guide, mini fridge, heater, AC, extra pillows and blankets, etc). Only downfall was no wifi. We felt safe and welcome.

  • The place itself was nice, had everything you needed.

    Kevin2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: I was here for my brothers college grad which took place at the Superdome. This place was perfectly located, as an Uber ride over to the dome only costs about $8. It’s a small room, perfectly suited for a single person or couple looking for somewhere to store their stuff during their stay and sleep at night. Check in was easy, keys left in the room. It was humid and hot during our stay and Alexander had the ac set to a glorious 60 degrees so the room was nice and cold upon arrival (sounds silly, but my oh my how we appreciated that!) Cons: I wouldn’t suggest this room if you’re coming as a couple/small group and are someone who needs any kind of privacy. This didn’t much matter to me as it was me and my stepmom, but just keep in mind it’s a small room, the bathroom door does not shut the whole way, so you better be comfortable with the people you’re sharing the room with. Again, it’s a nice little room but if you are particular about your beds or have back issues, keep in mind the mattresses aren’t the most comfortable. The small twin pull out bed is much more comfortable than the larger one, both do the trick however. My one huge complaint would be that on our second night, with no heads up given to us, the unit next to ours was being refurbished All. Night. Long. And I do mean, all night long. Dragging furniture out, drilling, smashing, people taking and laughing and singing... way past 3 am. Granted, this isn’t an issue anyone else will probably have, but it was an inconvenience and something that I think could have been better managed. The host was very responsive anytime we contacted him.

  • We wanted a simple, inexpensive place to stay so that we could put more of our funds towards the vacation itself, and this was exactly that. It's located in an outer suburb away from the tourist spots, so I wouldn't recommend wandering around the area, but the neighbors were extremely kind and helpful. Alexander was a wonderful host and very responsive and accommodating. The room also had a nice booklet with helpful tips about the city.

  • Tim's apartment in Mid-City is very easy to find, beautifully decorated, and very clean. It's within walking distance to a few great restaurants and bars, and parking is easy as well.

    Hannah2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tim’s home was so comfortable! It had everything we could’ve asked for. Easy check in. So much space and better than we expected. It’s in a great location too. Nice neighborhood, super quiet. Parked right outside our door. Very convenient walk to streetcar trolley stop, just two blocks away. Overall very happy :)

    Melissa2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a great host, helped with NOLA logistics fast and efficiently. the location is fantastic. The apartment is really cute and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, but I did suggest him providing a toaster. Easy walk to the street cars and some great restaurants. The neighborhood felt safe very and walkable. I accidentally forgot to lock my minivan one evening with a ton of stuff in it and it was all fine then next day. They are still doing construction next door on a new house, but I never heard noise until after 8am and it subsided around 5pm. The apartment was clean, but my standards are pretty high, so there were a few minor things I mentioned to Tim and he said he'd make sure it was taken care of going forward. We really enjoyed the stay in Tim's apartment and when we return, we'd stay here again. If you like pizza and cold beer, Theo's Neighborhood Pizza just around the block was absolutely amazing. The Ruby Slipped was great for breakfast- loved the spiked iced coffee! :) We loved the Natchez Steamboat and the horse and carriage tour. Great value, fantastic location and nice place.

    Rachel2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was an attentive host who was in touch before and after our visit to make sure all went smoothly. The unit itself is spacious and comfortably furnished, and even during the unseasonable cold and freezing rain that we experienced in New Orleans, we were impressed that the heating in the apartment kept us quite warm. A great experience all around.

    Elliot2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This a great and clean apartment in a quiet neighborhood in Mid City. The pictures look exactly like the place. Tim is a awesome host and responds very quickly. I’ll be differently be staying here again ! Thanks Tim

    Yuri2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's place was great! Real close to the street car, local cuisine and attractions without having to go downtown( if in need for a quiet night). It felt safe, spacious, and perfect for a trip to the Big Easy :) (also super easy to pick up a Lyft or Uber in the area if public transit isn't your thing)

Cozy studios managed by Hosteeva featuring comfy beds and large flat-screen TVs. Beautiful decor of these historic units will make the right atmosphere for your stay in New Orleans, with the touch of history that they bear. A fridge, microwave and coffee maker – all that is necessary to give your stay the feel of “home”. Stay far enough from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter but close enough to reach it whenever there is a wish. Walking distance to famous Canal St. streetcar line.
  • It was a great spacious stay. Definitely would stay again.

    Jessica2017-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my fiancé’s stay was great. The ease of checking in and communication was great. The location is close to the trolley on canal st which can take you to all the sights you’ll like to see in New Orleans.

    Ty2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable

    Eliza2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Room was as expected but a part of a huge house with tons of other rooms, neighborhood was nice and convenient. Would probably not rent from again, all wood floors with tiny rug in center, doesn’t have a home feel that I like. Feels very commercial with 3 picture on the wall, not very decorated. More of a basic hotel room with a louder than normal AC. Not worth the amount paid but got the job done.

    Jesse2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome.

    Belinda2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room was exactly as advertised. There was also a nice common room and a large front porch. Perfect for us, since we wanted to be in mid-city.

    meg2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Meh, it was ok. Easy to get into, it's not in a bad area. The bed was uncomfortable. It's not bad for something that's affordable for a few nights. The bartender at "The Red door " was awesome, he made our night!

    Ashlee2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If this is your first time visiting New Orleans and you want a place in the middle of everything this is a perfect location it's very quiet and I had a very great trip and what book with them again. Thanks again

  • One of the best values and best experiences I've had. Lindsay went out of her way to pick us up when we screwed up our drop off. Stay with Lindsay Trust me Trust me And go with the restaurants near her place they're better than the food in the quarter Thanks Lindsay

    Jeffrey2015-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay met me at the door when I arrived. She showed me around the house and to my room. While I did not have this exact room, the room I did have was very clean and the bed was most comfortable. The house is also very comfortable. The location of this house is perfect. You do not need a car unless you just want one. I did have a car as I live in Central Louisiana, parking on the street was not a big deal, New Orleans style. The street car is barely a block from which you can get anywhere in the city. There are several nice restaurants/cafes in the area that you can walk to. I would stay here again.

    Kathy2016-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was quite pleased with the experience of staying at Lindsay's. The location was maybe 2+ miles from the French Quarter, but it is right on the streetcar line that goes down Canal Street. I used the streetcar in the mornings, and a cab at night for $12. My biggest requirement is a comfortable bed. And this bed was wonderful. The room (#2 on the ground floor) was large, with good closet space, right off from the kitchen. Lindsay was always responsive by phone or email. I rarely saw her, so there was a lot privacy. But when we did connect, she was delightful. I highly recommend this place~~!!

    Edward2014-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a last minute change of travel plans and Lindsay was extremely accommodating. The Okra Inn is in a great location and we had a wonderful stay. The bed was unbelievably comfortable - it felt like you were sleeping on a cloud!!

    Rachel2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • I had a nice stay in a room next the Lindsay's place. It was in a great part of town, walking distance to great restaurants, City Park and the street car. Lindsay was communicative and flexible. I would definitely stay with her again.

    Tracie2016-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, clean and quiet space. Quick and thorough communication with host via text. I needed to add a guest last minute and drop off our bags before check-in time and Lindsay was very accommodating.

    Helen2017-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This listing was wonderful. Needed a spot that was close enough to attractions, restaurants, etc. and this was perfect. It was walking distance from the City Park (great for a stroll or late night beignets) and was great to have a dog friendly spot as well! Thanks, Lindsay - great spot!

    Stephanie2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location. Just a block away from the canal trolley that leaves you where all the action is. Alternatively, quick uber/lyft ride about $8-9 dollars. Very good gelato spot one block away! Very simple check in, the house is very nice. Almost felt like we were the only ones there!

  • Dana and Hassan are very welcoming, and their place is very clean and quiet. They also provide the kitchen for use if you need to cook a meal. recommend for this value price!

    Xi2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Good experience ! Well located in a safe area. Dana and Hassan are very kind and disponible to give advices !

    Benjamin2018-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • As fist time AirBnb users we weren’t sure what to expect, but it was really great. The area felt safe and both Dana and Hassan were very welcoming. We were originally greeted by their daughter since her parents were busy but she was extremely sweet as well. The only downside was how far everything was, and Uber and lyft were about $15-17 each ride we wanted to take so we decided to drive, but apparently there was some kind of event going on, each time we parked it was over $25 for 2 hours, but other than that everything was amazing, If we ever find ourselves back to NOLA, we’ll definitely be staying again.

    Iris2018-07-30T00:00:00Z

A comfy getaway suite in beautiful Bayou St. John. Centrally located and close to the French Quarter, City Park, Mardi Gras parade routes, Bourbon Street, and other hot spots!
This suite has a private entrance and includes a brand new queen sized bed, a brand new queen sized pull out couch, seating area with TV, and a full bathroom that connects the bedroom and living room. The living room includes a microwave, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, mugs, paper towels, a wine opener, and wine glasses.
Our neighborhood is mostly residential. However, excellent restaurants and places to explore are in walking distance. Check out the sunset along Bayou St. John (2 blocks aways), walk to City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art (under 10 min), rent a bike and cruise down the brand new Lafitte Greenway or grab a po-boy sandwich from Parkway Bakery (voted the city's top sandwich shop) that is only three blocks away.
  • The area of the house we stayed in was a nice comfy place. The decor had a nice touch. The only thing was it was warm the whole stay, inside the house. We let Emily and Josh know & they turned it on for us by their phone. The warmth was uncomfortable, but overall a cool spot to lay your head, as you enjoy the city life a bit. Thanks Emily and josh for letting us stay in your home for the days we did

    Jasmine2017-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. Everything was very clean and the suite was too cute. The bed was comfortable, WiFi was available, and I felt very secure knowing there were multiple security features in place. They even had a guest book filled with great suggestions. An overall great stay!

    Shamara2018-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • TWO THUMBS UP ! The suite is clean, cozy, and conveniently located in the city. Major plus: the bed and bedding were incredibly luxurious and far superior to any I’ve experienced in my years as an Airbnber. Great place to lay your head after a long hot day exploring the city. Would definitely come back :)

    Ruby2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic house. Sunny, comfortable, clean and close to everything. The host was very accommodating and the bed such a good quality. We loved our time there. Really made our trip to New Orleans an amazing experience!

    Vicky2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • I booked my brother and his girlfriend into Emily and Josh's place for their very first Airbnb experience! They said the bed was super comfortable and Emily and Josh responded quickly to a momentary power outage. It was unseasonably cold in New Orleans while they were here and the space heater provided wasn't quite up to the job of keeping it warm, but this is not a reflection on the space so much as it is on all New Orleans construction, which is designed for heat, not for cold. Note that this private suite adjoins the owner's house but the spaces are completely separate and the door between them is locked at all times. The steps leading up to the door are very narrow and were difficult for me to navigate on crutches, but I only had to because Emily and Josh were kind enough to allow me to come early and drop off a gift basket for my brother and his girlfriend. Great location, great value!

    Katie2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quick communications and responses with hosts especially after letting them know about a blown fuse. Space was exactly as advertised with safe, easy access and easy check-in. Great location! Within a block or two of bus routes and only 2 miles from French Quarter. I plan on booking with them again the next time I travel to NOLA.

    Jeff2019-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a delightful little gem of a guesthouse. It was immaculately clean and had a crisp, hip design. The bed was dreamy and oh so comfy. Just what I needed being out of town without my kiddos. It is centrally located in one of my favorite areas of town. I also felt safe and secure staying in town by myself. I would certainly recommend this to anyone.

Experience the feel of old New Orleans charm without sparing any modern amenities. Walk to Esplanade Ave. and City Park in minutes from this handsomely renovated 1894 shotgun home. Only a few blocks to the Fair Grounds or to Bayou St. John, as well. This residential area thrives with neighborhood bars, restaurants, and cafes, as is very typical of historic neighborhoods here in town. The close proximity to the French Quarter and Frenchmen St. is an added perk of Mid-City/Faubourg St. John.
I bought this home in 2011 in my favorite neighborhood, a few blocks from my childhood home. I spent 2012 consumed by a full interior renovation in which attention was put on several custom details that you'll find throughout the house. Needless to say, it was a labor of love, and I am excited to share this project with you while I am out of town traveling as a professional musician and during special events in our city. The home has one private bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a sleeper sofa with a queen memory foam mattress plus pillow topper in the living room, and a twin air mattress that will fit snugly in the bedroom. Pocket doors between the living and dining rooms make the sofa bed semi-private. The air mattress is high quality and rated 5 stars on Amazon. Rooms in the home include front porch and front door; living room (w sofa bed), dining room (table for 6-7); fully-equipped owner's kitchen; bathroom with shower, clawfoot tub, and front-loading laundry; and bedroom. Sound system includes radio, 1/8" cable to play your own device, and a turntable. Speakers are run throughout the home, including bathroom and shower. As a landmark, my home is 2 blocks from Pal's Lounge. **Please note that a $60 cash cleaning fee is due before your departure in addition to the rental cost** Feel free to inquire about discounts for last-minute bookings. This is a home, not a year-round short-term rental apartment, so you will enjoy all the amenities that a resident needs and loves. The kitchen is outfitted and ready for you test your creole cooking skills to the fullest. You are welcome to use basic cooking ingredients like oil and butter, condiments in the pantry or fridge, and coffee that I'll have on hand for you. Enjoy a dinner party and drinks on the porch. Some other features include: *Central A/C and heat *High speed WiFi *Washer and dryer inside *Gas range *Dishwasher *Original hardwood floors in every room, ceramic tile in bathroom *Traditional 12' ceilings *An excellent sound system *47" HDTV with Apple TV, basic cable, Netflix, and Amazon Instant Prime *A front porch *Enhanced soundproofing construction between rooms and unit next door *Charcoal barbecue pit on the front porch
Faubourg St. John was the area first settled in the present site of New Orleans. Native Americans first developed a community on this high ground and strategic trading area since it rests on the banks of Bayou St. John. The French then set up camp here in 1708, ten years before the city was officially founded. Today, the neighborhood is home to a mixture of residents that represents the city's diversity. It is also home to the world famous New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, my favorite time of the year, as well as Voodoo Fest and other events. We are located in a residential neighborhood, so I ask that you enjoy the home and block at a respectful volume during the nighttime. No bachelor parties please.
  • A lovely home in a great location. The second stay was even better than the first.

    Chuck2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is perfectly New Orleans with the best location for Jazzfest. Just a few blocks off Esplanade and quick walk to Liuzza's for morning bloody marys. It felt like coming down to see family, John Michael and his family were consummate hosts, can't wait to get back down to see them.

    Jamie2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mac was an AMAZING host. (not exaggerating!) With his chill personality and his love for his home town of New Orleans, he knows the hip spots to go to each night. We asked for a suggestion or two for music and Mac tailored a plethora of music suggestions for each night of our stay!! He also checked-in on us (via airbnb/text) to make sure our trip was going well and offered suggestions along the way! This HOME is a MUST! So quaint and so cultured, beautifully updated! My girls and I raved about it every day! He asked that we keep our shoes off inside the home, which was not a problem for us as we do already in our own homes. But I totally understand with having those beautiful wood flooring! We rented a car so we can explore the city and areas outside of New Orleans. Parking in the neighborhood is very easy. Overall, I would totally stay here again when I come back! Thanks again Mac!

    Cecilia2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Johnny Mac is a wealth of knowledge about the city and places to go. BTW he knows his city's music scene very well too. His place is great and comfortable and I would not hesitate to recommend it to you!!! Enjoy yourself in this wonderful city.

    Anthony2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mac’s place was amazing and better than the pictures. He gave us tips about the neighborhood, where to eat locally, and it was very easy to get around. He also made sure to check in and see that everything was going smoothly.

  • The description and pictures are true and accurate. The AirBnB was very cozy and clean! Chris and Emilee were easy to communicate with and made our family’s stay very relaxed and easy. Would highly recommend this AirBnB!

  • What's not to like. I highly enjoyed my stay at this space. Wonderful host.

  • Chris is an amazing host and I would highly recommend. They were extremely helpful and welcoming and the room was fantastic. He is very prompt, friendly and the room is very clean, comfortable and quiet. In all honesty the hosts and the room were the best part of my trip. I cannot rate the experience high enough.

    Patrick2018-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first Airbnb and it sets the bar really high for my future Airbnbs. The place was so clean and the hosts even provided a suggestion book for places nearby to eat !

  • Great Place To Hang Your Hat While You Enjoy Your Stay.

    Jeff2018-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • While there are many places in NOLA to choose from, this is a very safe feeling area. The room is newly decorated and very spacious. The host was fantastic.

    Lynn2018-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was absolutely wonderful. The place was always kept cool and the bed is super comfortable! I loved that they provided water and snacks. This place is 20 min away from the downtown area, which was not a big deal for us. It is close to city park which on Saturday mornings provide $5 yoga in the sculpture garden. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Ashley2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic space laid out well with a super comfy bed and thoughtful touches to feel at home. We also really appreciated being close to the park for a quick jog and loved Toast for brunch. Just a quick ride from all the action in the French Quarter, but we appreciated staying a little outside the mayhem and enjoyed exploring other parts of NOLA. Highly recommend!

Take away the parking hassles and do the 3 blk walk to to streetcar and enjoy the French Quarter, St. Charles Ave, Garden District, Audubon Park & Zoo, NOMA Museum in City Park and the Aquariums, Cemeteries, eateries, etc. Live music nearby.
We are in close proximity to the Canal St streetcar line and quaint neighborhood!
Efficiency apt in Mid City near the cemetaries, City Park, Jazz Fest, Voodoo and Bayou Boogaloo Fest to name a few. 2 blocks to many venues, including Bank St. Bar & Grill, Mid City Yacht Club. Have breakfast at Bisquits and Buns on Bank St, Clesi's and Mid City Pizza.
  • The location was great due to proximity to hot spots in NO. The location is also in a small alleyway underneath a home and near a cemetery. Our main problem was there were dead termites all over the bed. They tried to move us to a different room (for a larger $$), but termites were on the floor. When we complained, the host said, "You can't expect the Ritz-Carlton," and that the termites were normal for that time of year. I understand that, but I don't want to sleep with their carcasses. We asked for a refund and the host gave one night only. We had to contact AirBnB to get one more night. We ended up staying at a different location.

    Chastity2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was what you saw in the pictures. Good place to spend the night.

    Joseph2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great for one person or a couple. You can't beat the location and there are many things that are within walking distance. Since the trolly is so close, you can hop on and get to a lot of desired locations. On the other note, the shower pressure in the room is extremely low so that makes it hard to take a shower. Also, the construction upstairs was loud, but hopefully that will end soon.

    Eric2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 5 days and really enjoyed my stay. The studio is a little small, but it was perfect for my needs. Great location. It was only a 5 minute walk to the street trolly that goes all over. Also about a 10 minutes walk to all sorts of restaurants. It's also only a 20 minute walk to City Park, which was beautiful! We ate at a couple of breakfast places a couple blocks from the apartment and they were delicious! The room has a binder with the menus and locations of nearby places as well which really helped. The neighborhood was also really cute and seemed pretty safe. The only thing I should caution about was that the oven did not work. We tried lighting the pilot light but we didn't have the tools we needed. So just plan on being able to fix that or not using the oven. I read other reviews about the shower pressure being bad. But I thought it was totally fine. I have thick hair and I was able to shampoo and rinse with no problem. It's not the strongest, but I wouldn't have thought to complain about it.

  • Thx a lot for welcoming us in your place. Everything was perfect ( clear informations, clean and well located place ) Very good choice to visit NOLA Regards

    Laurent2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Doug and Dixie's property! It was nice, neat, and in a great location. We were only a short walk away from the Canal St Streetcar line and we used that several times throughout our stay. There were several cute little restaurants that we could walk to as well (Biscuits and Buns was awesome for breakfast!). The neighborhood seemed safe so we didn't feel uncomfortable walking around. An added bonus was all of the small things that were provided in the apartment. I have stayed in Airbnb properties where we had to go buy basic things that we needed (paper towels, toilet tisssue, etc.) so having those things (plus the booklet with info about the area) was greatly appreciated. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the property to others.

    Stefani2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • I appreciate the continuous communication we had up until the visit. The place was cute and the bed amazing. It was a little noisy upstairs and next door but the noise subsided early enough and the host provided ear plugs just in case. Overall this was a great place, close to our favorite places in the mid-city.

    Melissa2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly described apartment! We had a great time in New Orleans, and Doug's place was in a great spot and very convenient to the street car to the French Quarter! Thanks so much!

Happy, sunny, tiny little home conveniently located within walking distance to Jazzfest, Voodoo Music Festival, the Fairgrounds, Bayou St. John, City Park, and some of the best of New Orleans!! We're also just a seven minute ride to the French Quarter.
Recently renovated and sure to please.
Mid-City/Fairgrounds is a great location offering some of New Orleans' best restaurants, bars, and nightlife but is also the premier location for outdoor experiences including Bayou St John and City Park.
  • Great place to stay in NOLA! Cozy little suite with simple amenities (coffee maker, microwave, fridge) in a quiet and nice neighborhood. We had a car so the street parking was awesome and we always found a spot without trouble. It was unusually chilly during our visit and we felt it in the tiny house so the extra fluffy comforter and small heater was very much appreciated. Two really great restaurants near by: Cafe Degas and Liuzza's by the track (the "track" is indeed very close, we could hear the races happening!)

    Neila2018-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great find in NOLA! Our hosts were very accommodating and easy to reach for any questions. The space is cozy and has everything you need for a few days to explore the city. A quick uber will take you to all the fun spots, or you can walk to City Park and take the streetcar for a more scenic trip. There is a cute breakfast spot within walking distance also!

    Carmen2019-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • You use this platform hoping that hosts will be accommodating. Rarely do you find, they're actually great people. This was 100% the case at the Tiny House. They went so far above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, from detailed help on where to find a place for dinner, to genuinely wanting to know how to make the space accommodating and feel more secure. When we are concerned about visibility into the space, we got some pretty nifty window coverings from a hardware store almost immediately. The location is great for some quiet away from the noisy hotspots in FQ and City Center. We would definitely stay here again. Book this space, the tiny house is so cool. They've put a ton of care and thought into it, and it's really evident!

  • This is a great place to stay, very safe and quiet neighborhood. The shower is pretty small but works well enough.

    J2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This studio like apartment is very homey and clean! The neighborhood is safe and quiet, off the beaten path but an easy drive to the French Quarter and City Park. The hosts, Michael and Reed, are very helpful and accommodating. Responses are quick. My fiancé and I spent a couple nights here, and were quite comfortable. Clean linen, towels and enough pillows for the both of us. Plenty of oatmeal, fruit, coffee (Keurig) and dishes. Aside from being absent of blinds/drapes, this location is perfect for a couples getaway!

    Mike2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay in New Orleans for a great value!

    Haley2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michael’s place was very private and clean. Very safe and easy parking. No heat but space heater available. No window shades but maybe they will have them in the future. The tv doesn’t have great reception but it is a nice tv. It is Netflix. Bed was very comfortable. Very narrow and slim shower with a great shower head.

Great Location Close to the Bayou
Mid City very close to City Park and the Street Car.
  • This home was just that, a home. I loved the funky colors and the comfy bed. The gorgeous bathtub and breakfast table all had such sweet charm. Getting in was a breeze and the stay was great❤️

  • The place was very nice and definitely gave me an insight of what New Orleans living is like. The location was in decent proximity to attractions around the area. The wifi was very patchy and I had very little if any of the entire week.

  • Our stay at the cottage was wonderful. Super easy access to great local bars and brunch spots as well as to the streetcar. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.

  • Great place to stay perfect distance for biking or uber to the Frech quarter. Great wine and beer garden in walking distance. Also there is a whole foods half a mile down the road which is great to stock the kitchen. Great price for a great stay.

  • Unfortunately I was not able to make it to New Orleans, I am from Lafayette and got caught in the flooding. Two of my friends did and told me that Brandon 's was "very clean. Hospitable great loaction. Super sweet host"

    Amy2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was WONDERFUL! Brandon and his mother made us feel like family. It was great to talk to a NOLA native. They even brought us sandwiches, cake, and a bottle of champagne to welcome us to the city. The place was perfect. I loved all of the original art on the walls!

    William2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space and very nice kitchen! Bathroom is in the only bedroom in place. Other bed is a sofa bed. Small space for 3 or 4 adults. Truedell was awesome and worked with us to check-in since we arrived in NOLA earlier than the place was available.

You’ll love my place because of the location because its in the heart of the Mid City Districts, near the Canal St. Streetcars, the cemeteries, City Park and approx 4 miles from the French Quarter.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
    The bed is a double.
Quaint quiet area accessible to a lot of restaurants nightclubs streetcar plenty of parking on street and some private spaces available
  • We loved our little home it was the perfect size for our two night stay!

    Genna2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The home is in a great little neighborhood with some coffee shops and a few restaurants. It’s within walking distance to the trolley system. We used that to ride in and out of downtown. The 3 mile trip took about 20-30 min because of stops but it was a great way to travel and $3 for a day pass. There is no WiFi and some basic cable; but the idea is, your aren’t hanging out indoors! You should be it and about! Be sure to bring an iron or a steamer if you need it!

    Ari2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, comfy bed, well equiped flat, cheap price. Doug was a charm with us. i would recommand this flat for my friends and family.

  • Great location! Awesome little studio!

    Nick2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Doug's place is comfortable and nice. It's perfectly situated next to the Canal Street streetcar. Doug is a pleasure to communicate with, as he responds very quickly. I'd stay here again.

  • Clean place that is close to all the major attractions.

    Rhett2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and as described. The only issue was that the WiFi was not working. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

    Nevlle2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Doug's place was fantastic! The photos don't even do it justice, it's much larger in person and so comfortable and cute! We had a fantastic time staying here, it felt like a home away from home. The canal streetcar is about 5 minutes walk up the street which was incredibly convenient. Doug has a booklet full of local suggestions that he has put together in the room which was very thoughtful and useful to have. We were out most of the time so we did not get to meet Doug but he was very responsive by text and phone call. We did meet his wife Dixie briefly, she was very sweet and brought us some updated local guidebooks. The bed is on the firm side but I found it very comfortable and the bathroom is nice and spacious. I can't say enough good things about this place! If I HAD to suggest anything, I would suggest a handheld shower head as the shower is a standing one and a little on the small side, it would make things a little easier, but it's not a big deal. All we can say is thanks a million for a great place to spend out vacation!

Private garden oasis in historic neighborhood one half block from beautiful Bayou St. John. An easy walk to Jazzfest, Voodoofest, Bayou Boogaloo and more. Over a dozen restaurants, two grocery stores, three coffee shops, NOMA/City Park, wine shops/bars/lounges including world famous Pal's Lounge (voted best neighborhood bar) all in walking distance.
This detached apartment was once a smokehouse in the early 1900's. It was lovingly renovated post-Katrina with salvaged materials. We lived in this apartment for three years while we elevated and renovated the main house (a butcher shop). This jewel offers all the comforts of home with a full kitchen and laundry room access.
Quiet, established neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and says "hello". We love Bayou St. John and enjoy sharing it with others. Guests don't even have to leave the neighborhood to experience the best dining, museum, wine shop and record store in the city (not to mention the racetrack). All of this, and still only minutes away from the bustle of downtown and the French Quarter!
  • Great space! Michael and Chad, also, offered great recommendations for places to eat and go in New Orleans.

    Ryan2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend staying here! The space was beautiful and w a lot of New Orleans culture in there! We loved the old records! Also, communicating with Michael was very easy and he was always quick to respond! Hope to be back in the future!

  • Michael and Chad's place was AMAZING! It has little touches of thoughtful hospitality throughout the place. VERY clean! You really get the New Orleans vibe here!Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night but we were still able to enjoy some local places such as a bar and breakfast place within walking distance. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!

  • Christina’s place was so lovely! Extremely clean and chic! We were only about 5-8 mins away from Bourbon street which was great! Really great restaurants around as well! You could hear some outside traffic in the mornings but other than that, it was fine! The towels and wash clothes were so soft (I’m so used to Airbnb’s having cheap, dingy towels for their guests, so this was refreshing! It’s the small things!) Pillows were super comfortable too! Overall a great stay! Thank you Christina!

  • We had a great stay at this perfect NoLa shotgun house. Very central and many amenities in walking distance (coffee shops, grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, beer & wine gardens, etc). We biked all around New Orleans and enjoyed this stylish and comfortable home! Great hosts, great find!

  • The place was great, as we had the whole place to ourselves. Everything there was cleaned and tidy, could not have asked for a better place to stay in. The outside street was well lit and right next to a Walgreens, so we felt safe leaving our car there.

  • We loved staying at The Okra Inn. Lindsay was such a lovely person (such a shame we didn't see her again before we left) and she had thought of everything a guest would possibly need eg. books and local guides on NOLA and food in the fridge etc. Great shared living space and well-stocked kitchen. It would be perfect for an extended family or several couples on a shared holiday, quiet and homely. Her guest house felt immediately like home and we didn't want to ever leave. Only sorry we couldn't stay longer. Such a short stay. Will have to return!

  • Good value inn for the price, easy check in and communication. Had everything we needed, only a little bit of thinner walls if that is a deciding factor at all. Other than that, it was a great place to stay for a quick visit!

    Chris2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute reservation and Lindsay was very reasonable, responsive and accommodating. The place is clean and charming, makes you feel you're staying at your friend's home. Very quiet although its minutes away from hustle and bustle of the city. Will definitely stop by again.

    Alex2012-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Although we didn't see much of Lindsay and Tarani we had and excellent stay. We were visiting during on the busiest times of the year and only saw Lindsay on our check in date, she gave lots of good recommendations for restaurants and was very welcoming. They made sure the house we stayed in was very clean and tidy upon our arrival supplied us with towels and taught us how to use their chicory coffee maker which we loved!!! our departure was very early in the morning but she made sure to check in after and make sure every thing went well which i thought was so nice. Great people, great city , great experience!

    Tiffany2014-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay was great when it came to checking in. I arrived much later than expected and my check-in instructions made things easy! She also answered my late phone call when I realized I needed an iron. I loved my balcony and my bed & pillows were very comfortable. I'd definitely stay at the Okra Inn again!

    Alicia2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsay’s place was convenient and easy to find in New Orleans. Very cute place with thoughtful furnishings. I unfortunately found the bed to be not very comfortable, though, and price a bit high considering that (but maybe typical for the area). Would be nice to have some extra bed linens as well as ac was up high (for me anyway, I’m not as used to having ac on being from the west coast :) ) I’m sure Lindsay would have been accommodating but I didn’t get a chance to ask. I would still recommend her place to folks traveling through New Orleans, as I can see she is working to create a special space at the Okra Inn.

Built circa 1906, this historic home accommodates 4 people. This house is shotgun style, with a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and bathroom. If you are one of those folks who wants to experience authentic New Orleans and its rich diversity, then this just may be the location for you. This house is located in the heart of NOLA and the neighborhood's diversity shows it! If you're lucky you could hear one of the neighborhood kids playing the trumpet or trombone. We also provide free bikes so that you can bike through the entire city! You can bike to practically any location worth visiting including City Park (events include Voodoo Fest and Hogs for the Cause), the Fairgrounds (Jazz Fest and horse racing), Bayou St. John (Bayou Boogaloo), and OF COURSE the French Quarter and downtown.
This listing is part of a double/duplex and one of the two units is entirely yours! This shotgun home has a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom - in that order. ;) This property is very much centrally located and rather easy to get anywhere: - Canal Street Car and Bus: We are conveniently located between the streetcar line that runs on Canal Street and bus line 39 that runs on Tulane Avenue that both take you directly downtown. Uber and Taxis: Uber finally made it to New Orleans and is in full force!

  • Clean and comfy place. The location isn't great.

    Katelyn & Nate2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Not a bad walk to the canal street trolley. Other side of shotgun was rented out and neighbors woke us up 2 nights at 3 am. Kitchen did not have adequate pans for those that want to make breakfast at least. Rotted floorboard (enough that it was dangerous) by walkway that was hard to avoid. Cleaning people told us that it was suppose to be fixed at some point. Due to cleaning turnaround could not store our bags there for late afternoon flight and couldn't provide suggestions. Kind of a pain at the end of the trip in a city we didn't know. Ended up storing at a hotel down by the river.

    Sandy2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This home was clean and homey with a large porch on the front and back with seating. Each room was large in size and suitable furnished. In case you are not aware, I wasn't, a shot gun home means each room goes strait into the next so there is limited privacy because you have to walk through the bedrooms to get from A to B (living room in front, bathroom in back). We were in walking distance to several restaurants, the Ruby Slipper and Katie's, and the street car. If you want to eat at the Ruby Slipper, and you should, go to their website and download the app so you can get your name on the wait list ASAP (over 1 hour wait most days). The house is about 2 miles from the French quarter which was an 8-12 uber ride for 4 people. The street car on a Saturday night took about 2 hours, so I wouldn't recommend that course of travel.

    Patricia2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Super spacious home! Far enough from the craziness that you can expect from New Orleans during Mardi Gras to get a good night's sleep, but close enough that you never miss out on the action

    Shahbaaz2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • This shotgun house had everything we needed. Three spacious beds and two futons, spacious living room and the kitchen, a huge bathroom. Everything was clean. Only a few mins of driving to the quarter and had nice restaurants around the house as well. Definitely recommended!

This charming historic home reflects the Creole Caribbean culture of New Orleans with bright colors, high ceilings and an abundance of natural light set in the best neighborhood in the city just steps away from some of the best Cajun and Creole restaurants, the streetcar, city park and bike paths. Spend your days lounging on the bayou, sipping drinks from the scores of local restaurants and bars, listening to live music from amazing local clubs or exploring City Park.
Your New Orleans home is a beautiful example of creole architecture. You will have the whole 3 bedroom, 2 bath home to yourself. I live right next door so I am always available for recommendations, a greeting or for anything you would like to make your stay amazing. If y’all smell some crawfish boiling I love to meet guests and show them how we have a good time down here! A walk to Jazzfest, Voodoo Fest, Bayou Boogaloo
Mid City and Bayou St John is truly an amazing place in the center of New Orleans soulful heart. It’s very friendly and has some of the best hidden gems in New Orleans. Listening to live jazz in a courtyard full of live oaks at Bayou Wine Garden or City Park, breakfasts at Biscuits and Buns on Banks, some of the best food in the city just steps away. It is home to loads of fun bars, restaurants, and art galleries all located amongst historic homes on oak lined streets. From quaint shotguns and colorful Creole cottages, to Italianate mansions, American townhomes and storefront renovations, the Mid City and Bayou St. John neighborhoods are shining examples of how history and renewal can successfully merge together to create a funky and idyllic harmony only found in New Orleans. A commitment to preservation and diversity along with a heavy influence from the arts makes for beautiful and vibrant neighborhoods. First, we always recommend a trip to our City Park. It’s the largest in the nation and boasts a beautiful sculpture garden (free) you can tour on land or via paddle boat. There is a wonderful spot, Morning Call, to have beignets and cafe au lait on a bayou surrounded by huge oak trees dripping with Spanish moss.
  • Peter's place was perfect for my group! It is in a great location and there was plenty of space for all 6 of us. Although we never met Peter, his communication was prompt and pleasant. There are a lot of small touches around Peter's place that made our stay extra cozy. We loved that there were plenty of space heaters (our first night in town was unexpectedly cold!), soft towels, plenty of extra sheets and blankets, snacks, and coffee. I would definitely stay at Peter's place again next time I am in New Orleans and I highly recommend it if you are coming with a group or a family!

    Hannah2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a magnificent stay!! Peter was the absolute perfect host! Response was quick, suggestions on restaurants were perfect & he even made my family and I complementary cocktails that were delicious. The house was very close to the streetcar which led us straight to all the action. I would love to stay here again on my next trip! P.S. The house had more than enough space for my family and I! Thanks again!

    Jeremy2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay and the space was perfect in a very nice location. I love MidCity as there are plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood. Great home and host.

  • I cannot recommend Peter and his place enough. He was quick to respond and provided fantastic tips for the local area. He was friendly and helpful and generally just a great person to meet! Also his neighbourhood is amazing! Absolutely loved staying around here in a sparkling clean and welcoming house. Thanks so much Peter and hopefully see you again next year!

    Katie2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is a wonderful host. His place is colorful and had a perfect amount of space for a family trip to NOLA. The location is nice because it is a bit out of the cluster of the French Quarter but still close enough to be accessible. It is just a few blocks from the Canal Street trolley which was extremely convenient. The Lafitte Greenway is also right behind the place which was a nice place to walk our dogs in the morning. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice play to stay in Mid City!

    Layne2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is in a great spot. We had easy parking and the code on the door made check-in really easy. It was about a quick uber to the French Quarter, which was really convenient. We had a great time. The place was decorated with lots of fun New Orleans-esque decorations.

    Alex2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is centrally located and it did not take long to get anywhere we wanted to go. Very close to the trolley line and some wonderful neighborhood gems. It is an older home but very charming and cute. Not going to lie, we did miss having a tv especially because we were there during the midterm elections and watching the returns on our phones/ipads was not the same! I would stay here again.

    Theresa2018-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was THE best place we could have asked for. Peter is so great and helpful and we found it really easy to get around the city from here. You will definitely want to book this!

  • Ivan’s place was lovely. Located in a great area only a few minutes from downtown. The space was very clean and had great light.

  • If you want a beautiful place to stay in NOLA, that has two separate bedrooms and bathrooms (that you do NOT have to walk through to get to any other room) - stay here! Location of this home was perfect for us. It's in a quiet neighborhood that made us feel safe, yet was very close (short walk) to public transportation that made the rest of NOLA very accessible, without needing to worry about cost of parking or where to park a vehicle. We also loved that there were so many places close by that we could walk to (restaurants, coffee shops, grocery store, City Park). We enjoyed the front porch and being able to sit out front and enjoy coffee and donuts in the mornings before it got too muggy. For those who have a small child and are considering this home - We did have a small child with us (1.5 yrs old) and we found that the home worked for a small child, but we definitely had to be on the offensive and keep a watchful eye on him. The house isn't loaded with breakable things, but there are a few things. We ended up putting a chair in front of the glass hutch that had glass items in it, and that seemed to help deter him from trying to open it. Also - bring your own plastic cups and plates if you don't want them to use the glass plates and cups (or be prepared to buy disposable). Small details, but I found myself thankful that I had stashed a few kid-friendly plates/utensils in our bags and brought along a clamp-on high chair to attach to the dining room table. We had some issues with the wifi, but the host was always very quick to respond and very accommodating and gracious in the number of times that we asked to have the router reset. Honestly, we loved this house and the location. If you're looking to have a good time in NOLA and yet have a quiet place to come back to and rest - this your place.

  • We had a lovely time staying at Ivan’s Mid-City House. It is in a quiet, residential area with amenities in close proximity. The house was clean, and well kept. We loved the kitchen and having our breakfast and coffee out on the front porch. The temperature was perfect and made for a perfect cool down after wandering the city. We also loved the location away from the “action”. Having a quiet, peaceful place to rest our feet after a long day was welcomed after a long day. I also found the bed I slept in (the room all the way at the back of the house) was super comfortable! The only “issue” would be the Low bandwidth of the WiFi. We couldn’t have three phones, an iPad, and the Roku connected at the same time. With that said, the reason I mention it last is because it was the least important element of our stay. We would definitely stay again if Ivan would have us!

    Sarah2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The home was great! It was very nice, homey & extremely comfortable. Everything we needed was readily available from towels, soap & even to the small note with wifi information & a contact number. I will definitely stay here again!

  • Great place. Great location. Great host. Only problem is that the TV did not work and we REALLY wanted to watch the Saints game.

  • Excellent spot to stay if you’re looking for a place in a quieter part of town! Very close to the street car and less than $10 Uber ride to the French Quarter. If you want to stick around Mid City, you are walking distance from coffee shops and great food. There is a beautiful kitchen and two full bathrooms, making it a good spot for two couples. Enjoyed coffee on the cute front porch every morning. We had no issues with the noise or WiFi.

This 600 sq ft cozy mini-apartment is part of a larger cottage. It comes with a kitchen. We’re located one mile from the French Quarter and near Bayou St. John, a gorgeous area. It's a humble sweet space with a bedroom with a double bed as well as smaller room with a single bed. It’s attached to the lgr part of the house, but is separate. Entrance thru alley way to the left of house. Shower is small and awkward. Also, if you’re allergic to cats or dogs this may not be the best apt for u.
The space is humble and bare bones but is sweet and cozy. It’s located in a beautiful area.
My neighborhood is gorgeous with beautiful trees and houses and a nearby bayou. There are also an array of restaurants and small food stores within comfortable walking distance for most folks. There is a nearby bus stop and a trolley as well. Still, nothing is more convenient then having a car or going by Lyft/Huber.
  • Perfect spot for a clean quiet, safe, nice place to stay close drive from the quarter.

    Elizabeth2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a cozy place with a location that cannot be beat. Very close to restaurants and a quick Lyft ride to the FQ. The neighborhood is absolutely stunning with historic homes, mature trees, and tons of character. Finally, Sue was easy to communicate with and very friendly. I Will definitely visit this location in the future should I ever return to NOLA.

  • Excellent location for Voodoo Fest. Great value for close walking distance. Sue was an excellent host, very considerate and communicative.

  • A great space in a great location, secluded enough that it’s relaxing, but close to major attractions. Close to the public bikes, which we found out about thanks to Susan. The space felt homey. The shower took some getting used to, but overall would book again!

    Gabriela2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place to stay and rest.

    Ricky2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The place is cozy yet bigger than I was expecting. Nice neighborhood, great park and art museum straight down the Esplanade. When I arrived it turned out the wrong key had been left. Took a little while to get response via phone or text, but she was very apologetic and refunded me a night's rent without me asking for it.

This space is located just off of City Park Ave. We are two blocks from the Canal street car line, and 2.87 miles to the fairgrounds for jazzfest. There are many restaurants, bars, and two supermarkets in walking distance. The street car will take you directly to the French Quarter in about 15 minutes for $1.25 Permit #17STR-08569
You'll have a cozy 1000 square foot space with your own private entrance and exit. We live in a separate space upstairs.
Mid-City is conveniently located to pretty much any area in the city. You can hop on the streetcar or bus and be in the French Quarter or Marigny for $1.25. (It's about 10 minutes away) Taxis or Uber will be affordable to go to most destinations too. The neighborhood is safe. There is a great bar across the street from the house that stays open until anytime between 2 and 4 am. In walking distance there are many restaurants, bars, two supermarkets, City Park, New Orleans Museum of Art, etc. It's really a great spot especially for Jazzfest and Voodoo fest and Endymion during Mardi Gras.
  • A perfect location to experience New Orleans from a local's perspective! Gretchen and Dustin were gracious and accommodating hosts. They provided a useful list of things to do and places to eat. And they were only a text message away for further recommendations, if required. They offered up several tips to us for food and music that really panned out. The apartment is very charming, comfortable, spacious, and clean. Street parking was a breeze. Our hosts also included little extras to make our stay better, such as bottled water in the fridge and local coffee. The neighborhood is the perfect location for Jazzfest, and very close to great restaurants. We took a cab to Frenchmen Street, where we caught a few late night shows, for approximately $20-25 during Jazzfest. We highly recommend this apartment year-round.

  • Good location. The house look exactly the same as stated in the webpage.

    Valerie2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen's apartment was excellent; very clean and spacious. Apartment was very conveniently located, and I was able to able to take the streetcar whenever I needed. There was a few times when I needed to take uber, and was able to get a ride within 5 minutes every time.

    Justin2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was really nice and peaceful. The listing is absolutely accurate and the apartment is super cozy. Perfect for a couple. We were welcomed with a bag of local chips by the counter which was good to have and a suggested itinerary which was very desperately needed considering we hadn't quite planned the trip. Gretchen's suggestions were all great and we ended up trying quite some of them and they were all superb. She was very prompt with the events happening around NOLA during our stay and that's something only locals would know so it was nice of her to proactively suggest us some cool stuff to do during our stay. The place is well maintained and the neighborhood is pretty quiet. It is very convenient to the street car. Depending on the frequency of the street car it could take some time to get to French Quarter at times. All in all, nice place and great host.

    Pooja2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Gretchen's place. The place was clean and easy accessable to public transportation. We loved taking the street cars to see the city.

    Denise2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Gretchen's place is cozy but very comfortable. We were 3, and one stayed on the very large couch. We had plenty of room. The kitchen is large, the bathroom is also large and well stocked with plush towels. The laundry room is easily accessible. There was no street noise, and the neighborhood is charming. It is a short walk to the beauties of City Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Loren2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Gretchen's space! Very close to the streetcar that takes you right to the French Quarter. We loved the local touches inside and the restaurant suggestions found in a guide by the entrance. Would recommend to any future travelers!

  • Absolutely gorgeous space in an adorable neighborhood. Blocks away from good food and coffee, easy public transportation and centrally located. The studio itself was immaculate, stylish, and comfortable. AC system was amazing. Sarah was professional and kind. Can’t recomend this place enough!!

  • Sarah’s house was perfect in every way. Highly recommended

    Dana & Don2019-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is ideal: sparkling clean, stylishly decorated, conveniently-located on a lovely boulevard, and quite comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are equipped with both basics and thoughtful touches. Self-check-in was a breeze and Sarah's neighborhood restaurant recommendations were much appreciated. The only improvement I would suggest is to upgrade the tiny plastic table tucked into a corner to something sturdier for eating and working. Looking forward to my next visit.

  • Sarah’s place is a quaint, quiet spot located far enough away from all the downtown commotion but close enough to still be right there within a few minutes by car. The space was clean and perfect to come back to after a long day of walking, eating and listening to live music! Highly recommend this space to visitors who like to get out of the noise and commotion a bit when they’re needing their rest!

Nearby there is little grocery place which is pretty handy, nice french morning coffe place and some dinner places too. Location is very strategic just 2.5 miles away from French Quarter, yet so quite and green ! Sarah responded very quickly and helpful too to our inquiries. We definitely would stay back there again.

Neighborhood felt safe, was quiet, and has a feel like it is coming back (renovations, etc.) which is nice to see. Great place to stay if you want to get a feel for New Orleans through local eyes.

  • Frances is a great hostess! Excellent communication and you will not be disappointed with your stay here. Also it is located very close to everything. I look forward to staying here again!!!

  • Excellent stay - I would say the pictures don't do it justice. We loved every minute of our weekend and Frances did a great job giving us all the information. It was a teensy-bit far from the French Quarter and activities, which was made very clear, but we ended up getting a fair amount of lyfts/ubers over the weekend which added up. Either way you'll have a great stay!

  • Gorgeous, stylish home! The minute we walked in we were in awe of Frances's hospitality. There were towels set neatly on each bed, shampoo/conditioners, soaps and makeup wipes in the bathroom. The home is clean and super comfy. Would stay here again!!!

  • We loved our stay at Frences's place! It was a great escape from the craziness of Bourbon Street/French Quarter and just a short uber ride away from all of the places we wanted to visit. There is also a great fried chicken restaurant (Willy Mae's) and po' boy restaurant (Parkway Bakery and Tavern) within walking distance!

    Supada2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great space, the towels were super soft, I loved the phone charging nightstands, the beds were super comfortable, the place was very clean and well presented. I would definitely use this location again. Frances was very quick in responding and provided all the info needed.

This is a small 1 bedroom house that sleeps 4 within walking distance to the Bayou, Bars and Restaurants. It's an affordable fun way to explore New Orleans like a native. Other bed is a sofa bed in the den.
  • Hello. I didn't meet Brandon but easily accessed the apartment and stayed one week. I found the place clean and functional. It is situated a few blocks from the Canal St streetcar and 1 block from the Lafitte green path which is very convenient for bikers. Also, there is a bar right behind the house.

    Samia2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The place is really comfortable and very clean! The place is only few blocks from the Streetcar and right behind a nice bar (Bayou Beer Garden). Brandon is a great host. He gave us recommendations on where to eat and go. Highly recommend!!

  • This house was exactly as pictured and in a very convenient location for exploring the city. It was great to have the Bayou Beer Garden around the corner. Brandon was out of town but Angie was very responsive and gave us tips for exploring the neighborhood.

  • Truedell with whom i communicated during my stay was very helpful and such a great person. She responded immediately every time i try to contact her. The place was clean and it had WiFi. It is a few blocks away from Canal St. Where u can take the street car to French Quarter in just a few minutes. It's also like a block or two away from a few great places to eat. I would recommend this place..

  • $50/night listing then $50/night cleaning fee is absurd! Overall the space was nice, clean and they communicated very well.

    Ali2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot that was so cozy and close to a bunch of great spots. Would book again!

    Matthew2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great space in a convenient Mid City location. We enjoyed Bayou Beer and Wine Garden patio next door and convenience of being by the street car on Canal. Wish we would have brought our bikes as there's a path right next to the house that goes to the quarter. Check in was simple and the host provided many great recommendations on things to do. We really enjoyed our stay here.

  • Went to NOLA for Jazz Fest and could not have asked for a better place to stay. Tucked away in Mid City, this apartment was walking distance to the fairgrounds and just blocks from the Canal and Carrollton St trolleys. Most importantly, it is just blocks from some great neighborhood restaurants including Katie's and Parkway Bakery & Tavern (voted NOLA's best Po' Boy in 2014). While I did not get to meet Brandon since he was out of town, he maintained great communication to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place for someone who is stopping into NOLA and wants to avoid the craziness of downtown hotels and experience more of a community feel.

Bright and airy studio apartment with big windows and a porch swing! Newly renovated, and perfectly clean. Walkable neighborhood, and just a hop away from the Quarter. Bayou st. John is beautiful place to stroll in the evening.
This is the back-half of our home that we have lovingly renovated just off of beautiful Bayou Saint John. It is a VERY clean and bright studio apartment with its own private entrance through the gate in the side yard. The kitchen is well-equipped with a stove, toaster, microwave, full-sized fridge, and useful cooking items like oil and vinegar, tea and coffee, and all the implements you would need for making a meal. The bathroom has a huge tub and shower, and no need to bring soap or towels or shampoo, we got it all. The bed is a memory-foam queen, we get many compliments on it! If you have a third person or a child, and we have a twin air-mattress as well. The porch-swing is, no humility here, the best idea I've ever had. It's just the best. The yard is shared with a 30 foot tall sycamore tree named Elvis, and not a neighbor will be able to see you if you choose to drink your coffee on the porch in the morning your nightwear. There are bikes, buses, trolleys and taxis, and of course, feet for getting around and we will be happy to help you figure out which one is best. Rules: We are flexible on nearly all of them, including well-behaved, non-cat eating dogs. If you need to check in early, we can usually do it if no one is leaving that day, if you need to check out late or leave your bags, no trouble.
Bayou St. John is an amazing place to live. I'm always kind of surprised I got this lucky. I've lived all over the US and a few spots in Europe, and I like here the best. The streets are tree-lined, often blooming, with very old beautiful houses. Walk to coffee, groceries, restaurants, bars, parks, the street car, a movie theater, music venues and a shockingly beautiful park with pelicans and herons. New Orleanians are a friendly bunch; we make eye contact and say hello to strangers on the street. And best of all, I know all my neighbors!
  • Brooke and Eliot were great hosts and the apartment was gorgeous!

    Jennie2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke and Eliot’s space is great. It’s in walking distance to the quarter if you’re up for a stroll or really close to transportation if you’re not. The space is off to the back with a private entry though running into Brooke will always be worth it. And my favorite feature is the tub! Such a great way to relax after being in the quarter.

  • Brooke and Eliot were wonderful hosts and I enjoyed the rental

    Steve2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, awesome location, great hosts! The room was spacious and clean, with new appliances and fixtures. Bonus points for a comfy bed and huge bath tub. A+ on all fronts!

  • I had decided long ago that if I ever were lucky enough to live in New Orleans, I would want to be in Bayou St. John. Well, I can't live there, as it happens, but I can visit and I can even stay in the best AirBnB in Bayou St. John. So can you! You'll love the location, easy parking, and wonderful hosts. You'll have privacy, but be in the middle of it all. Brooke and Eliot have nailed it as far as being gracious, friendly hosts, and also providing everything you might need.

    Angeline2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brooke and Eliot are sitting on a win with their lovely, bright and clean Airbnb. The pictures are a perfect depiction and the location is prime, with lots of local flavor including cafes, groceries, and the canal just a block away. We will definitely try to stay here again.
