It is one of fewer than 10 transporter bridges that remain in use worldwide; only a few dozens were ever built.”

“www.nationaltrust.org.uk/tredegar-house 17th-century Charles II-era country house mansion in Coedkernew. For over five hundred years it was home to the Morgan family, later Lords Tredegar. Described as "The grandest and most exuberant country house" in Monmouthshire and one of the "outstanding houses of the Restoration period in the whole of Britain", the mansion stands in a reduced landscaped garden of 90 acres, forming the non-residential part of Tredegar Park.”

“Award winning Bistro Bar in Newport, Finalist in 2016 Observer Food Awards & Top 3 Venues in Wales. Selected for Alastair Sawday’s Pubs and Inns Guide 2014-18. Selected for AA Pub Guide 2014-2018 Opentable Diners’ Choice Awards 2014 to 2018. Winner of LUX Award Hospitality Award 2016. Cask Marque Accredited. Customer can expect great brews on tap and a transparent philosophy of serving only the best produce. Both Bistro and Bar, The Ridgeway oozes refreshing honesty, style and that rare four letter word – CARE. A commitment to seasonality comes through in our dishes. Tender Welsh Sirloin of Celtic Pride Beef, Pembrokeshire / Carmarthenshire porkers from selected farms and Lamb from Carmarthenshire. The Ridgeway is a privately owned business and is situated in the pretty suburb of Allt-yr-yn / Ridgeway in Newport. Stunning Welsh countryside is only 5 minutes away with the Sirhowy Valley Walk, a nature reserve and the 14-locks of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal nearby. ”
