Museum
“Within walking distance. The Kauffman Museum offers an indoor/outdoor experience for its patrons. Inside, the museum features permanent displays about the cultural and natural history of the plains and the immigration of Mennonites to Kansas, including the "Save America's Treasures" collection of Mennonite immigrant furniture. A special exhibit, "Sorting Out Race," examines racial identity and stereotypes in thrift store donations. The museum shop offers puzzles and toys for children, wheat weaving, jewelry, books and items produced by local artists. The museum grounds also feature a tallgrass prairie reconstruction, an 1875 house and 1886 barn. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays.”

Park
“Centennial Park is home to the Blue Sky Sculpture, a collaboration between artists Phil Epp and Terry Corbett and Conrad Snider. The sculpture interacts with the Kansas sky, and benches invite viewers to stay a while and enjoy the peacefulness of the panorama and surrounding grasses. The sculpture is one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas Art, and its cloud theme has been incorporated into local themes, such as a nearby water tower and cloud-shaped wayfinding signs in the downtown area. Centennial Park is located on North Kansas Avenue, just north of 12th street in Newton. The adjacent Pod Park features large sculpture shapes along a path through native grasses. Admission to both locations is free. ”
