“Here for work travel and need a place to do some computer work for a few hours? Bluebeard Coffee is a spacious coffee shop with more seating that many other coffee roasters. On the corner of 6th and State Street. My favorite; the nitro brew. ☕️ ”

“Asado has one of the best Ambiances of any restaurant in Tacoma. If you are celebrating an anniversary, birthday or any celebratory occasion, Asado is one to consider. One of the more expensive options in Tacoma (but less than El Gaucho!) I'v never been let down by their hospitality or food. ”

Diner

“Our favorite greasy spoon, with options to order at the counter or get full-service waitstaff in the dining room. Go for the avocado and bacon omelette. Make the potatoes “magic.” If you have a sweet tooth, go for the apple pancakes. $8-$14/plate.”

American Restaurant

“Cool restaurant/bar in an actual 100 year old firehouse. They kept the horses in the room to the side. They brew their own beer, but have a lot of other local brews on tap. My go to meal is either the Bison burger, Steelhead Tacos, or Steelhead plate with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Wednesday nights are Quiz nights beginning at 7 and running for three rounds, one starting each hour. It's free to play and prize is $10 for top score each round. ”

Regional, chef-driven cuisine served in a relaxed setting
“The Table is one of my personal favorites. Farm-to-Table style dining with locally sourced food year round. Chef Derek is not only a master in Chef, but an inspirational leader and business owner. The Hospitality you receive at The Table is phenomenal. Be sure to make a reservation. They frequently get booked up! ”

“Despite how busy Valhalla Coffee is, you can expect your drink to be made to perfection. So be patient if you come at peak hours! Very few sitting spots and table are small. Don't expect this to be a quiet place to work, it's usually buzzing with warm greetings and friends saying 'hello'. Bold and delicious coffee, just across the street from Sushi Tama; the best Sushi restaurant in Tacoma! ”

Bar
$$
“Famous 83 year old Tacoma bar with an outstanding beer list. Monday nights are Randall nights where they take a standard beer and run it through whatever Sean thinks will send it next level - usually more hops, fruit, and/or sometimes even chocolate, coffee, and marshmallows. I think I've seen him put Butterfinger candy bars in there. They have a small patio out front that is perfect for enjoying a nice afternoon or evening. There is a pool table in the back, as well as a few other games. ”
