Historic Site
“In 1950, this Harry Seidler-designed home was the most revolutionary house in the country. Australia’s architectural lineage is rooted in Britain’s Federation style, but this perfectly preserved example of the Bauhaus movement looks like it’s landed from outer space—it makes no attempt to link with its bushland surrounds. Book online for Sunday tours. The upper North Shore is a moneyed, suburban area of generously sized blocks. The area offers insight into another side of Sydney—the sense of nature offers a really different urban experience. Explore the area and try the Butcher’s Block café, a popular local spot for coffee or lunch.”

“Creative Modern Australian food in a smart, breezy venue with polished floorboards and a courtyard. A modern pub attached to a fine dining restaurant. The freshest of ingredients, a passion for presenting fine food and the skill to deliver is apparent at The Cooks Garden. Here chefs take pride in creating high quality meals to be enjoyed. ”

Park
“Lovely National Park around 20 minutes drive from the property. Great broadwalk and hiking tracks. Try to visit the marina and feed the fish from the jetty. Nice looking boats to see and dream about.”

Park
“You will need a car to get here. See kangaroos, birdlife and the Australian bush close at hand. There are also hiking trails to Bobbin Head reserve which is lovely for picnics and fishing. There is a $12 entrance fee per vehicle to enter the park. ”

Route
“From Turramurra: Enter the park from Bobbin Head Road, at North Turramurra. This is a good route to Bobbin Head and Appletree Bay. From Mt Colah/Asquith: Enter the park from Ku-ring-gai Chase Road. ”

“If you’re looking for a quick ride with a bit of a climb—475 m to be precise—the 31-km Yo Yo is great. Begin at Bobbin Head at North Turramurra, ride into Ku-ring-gai National Park and onto Bobbin Head Bridge. Cross over Cowan Creek, climb up the other side to the park toll gates, then turn around and do it in reverse. Views at the bridge are amazing. There’s a ‘hidden’ tap next to the toilet blocks that’s safe to use to fill up your water bottles if you decide to ride the hills a few more times.”
