Places to stay in Okanogan

Places to stay in Okanogan
TEMPORARY COUNTYWIDE CLOSURE - COVID 19 (except emergency/health workers). 1BR Pine Cone Cottage is a bit of wild west and a dash of modern technology shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage in beautiful north central Washington State. (West half of duplex, separate entrances at opposite ends of building.) Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), this is a NW history lover's ideal base camp. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Pine Cone is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the west half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. Even though it is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure. Enjoy a full kitchen (albeit with no counter space) with a microwave, blender, crockpot, coffee maker, and espresso machine. Kick back with wifi, HD SmartTV, Blue-ray player and DVDs, and a library of classic western fiction (Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey), historical non-fiction, and modern suspense thrillers while lounging on the comfy leather couch and antique rocking chair. A classic wireframe bistro set let’s you dine in style. The antique double brass bed with 12-inch memory foam mattress and cotton sheets and quilts promises a great night's sleep. Gorgeous limited edition and vintage nature art prints line the walls. Not quite a man cave (although the beer signs in the kitchen make an effort), the cowboys and indians décor leans toward the masculine yet still has plenty of appeal for womenfolk. My son convinced me to hang on to the vintage blue bathroom fixtures, which are set off by my finest paint-by-number pictures (to keep the cottage humble). Check out my latest collection -- vintage cedar souvenir boxes.
Geralyne’s vacation home is located in Okanogan, Washington, United States. The City of Okanogan (the county seat but in all respects a small town) is centrally located in Okanogan Valley in north central Washington, putting you right in the middle of a great area to explore and enjoy. The city pool and Okanogan River are two blocks away; Salmon Creek even closer. The city also boasts a historical museum and farmers market. A nice grocery store is just two blocks north of the cottages. The best fries on the planet are served at The Club tavern, within walking distance. (Their burgers and steaks are awesome, too.) The best breakfasts are at the Stockyard Cafe, a local haunt that is off the tourist track, and Smallwoods (2 miles south), where you can also buy organic produce and artisanal foods (they smoke their own meats in the summer, try their Porker). The Breadline Cafe 4 miles north in Omak, check out their Saturday brunch. Also in Omak is Valley Lanes, if you're inclined to go bowling, and who wouldn't be? Beautiful Omak Lake is a mere 9 miles away, a hidden gem on the Colville Reservation and thus far totally undeveloped except for outhouses at the gorgeous beach nestled between granite cliffs that are mysteriously not crawling with climbers practicing for El Capitan. Balance Rock is 3 miles farther along the lake (a very short hike from the road), and if fishing is your thing, the lake is teeming with Lahontan cutthroat. The north central area of Washington state is still a bit of a mystery for many coasties, so nip on over and see what they haven't discovered yet. Come over one spectacular mountain pass and go back over another. Regional attractions are all easy day trips by car -- no more than 2 hours each way. Double back or see more by making loop trips. Visit Bavarian-style Leavenworth, the Old West town of Winthrop, or the ghost town of Molson. Enjoy the beaches of Chelan or Penticton, B.C. Admire back road mountain and desert scenery (don't miss Grand Coulee) or lush orchards and vineyards (Canada's top wine-growing region starts at the border, my favorite winery is Blasted Church just south of Penticton). Stop to look at wildlife and take photos of a million postcard views. Hike, hunt for antiques, fossils, gold; go swimming, boating, fishing. Taste the local produce in season, or eat out at wonderful restaurants, cafes, and pubs. Rodeos add excitement in summer – the Omak Stampede with its famous Suicide Race is just 4 miles from the cottage! My favorite used/new bookstore (Daydream Books) is at the north end of town (the little house with the lions out front). It's a great area to do a great many things, or even better, maybe, do absolutely nothing.
  • I work at a thrift shop and appreciated the fun and funky way of decorating with curiosities and collectibles. The host's easygoing, thoughtful, and humorous personality come through in this and her communication and thorough info book. The theme of the Pinecone Cottage is Cowboys, Indians, and , perhaps, beer. Lots of games, dvds, cookware, good lighting, and an interesting collection of thematic books have packed as much fun and options into this place as it can hold. Kudos.

  • We really enjoyed this cool little space. It fit our needs for a one night stay well. Will definitely consider staying here again for our next trip to Oakanagan!

  • Pine Cone Cottage is absolutely adorable! So comfy & cozy on a cold Thanksgiving night. Well stocked with anything you could possibly need. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Geralyne is very helpful, has great local knowledge & replies quickly to any questions. I definitely want to return when I can stay longer.

    Lisa2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very cozy. Very well priced compared to other options in the area.

    Robert2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Okanogan trip was made for a few days of work in the area. The reservation and check-in were superb and Geralyne obviously took extra effort to ensure more than adequate amenities were available. Given the cold outside temperatures, my stay was particularly warm and cozy. I would certainly stay again on the next visit.

    Marc2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay with Geralyne, and this time I had the pleasure of chatting with her. She puts so much care and joy into these cottages. I hope to be back again soon—this is a great find in a beautiful part of the state.

    Carissa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean, best place to stay in Okanogan.

    Monika2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay so very much in the Pine Cone cabin. It is obvious the owner has put so much thought, care, and consideration into the touches of this cottage. The housekeeping is exceptional and the place is immaculate. Although the space is quite small, it is well arranged, has just about every amenity you could need, offers an incredibly comfortable bed, very interesting artifacts around the space, and comes with the most top-notch hospitality you can imagine (although she’s not always on-site)! We were fortunate enough to meet Geralyne, and were very blessed by her kindness and generosity. The location of these cottages is ideal as well. It’s right there smack dab in the center of the regions of Winthrop, Chelan, and even the border of Canada! Plus Okanogan and Omak are pretty darn interesting themselves! The outdoor opportunities are pretty unless along the Columbia River and in the nearby mountains. We just had an absolute blast during our stay here. Looking forward to going back to that cozy little cabin in the middle of winter just to get away…

This upstairs apartment is located on a working certified organic, urban farm in the rural town of Okanogan. It is conveniently on a paved road, near Hwy 20, but in a quiet and kid friendly neighborhood.
This upstairs apartment is all yours during your stay. It is new construction, clean and fresh, with nothing on the walls and lots of natural light. It is warm and we provide blankets. In the summer you can open the windows and listen to the crickets. There is an air conditioner. This place is on a working organic farm set between houses with active kids. There is a commercial kitchen below the apartment so you will probably catch the aromas of artisan bread or sweet pop tarts baking, or farm fresh tomatoes roasting. While you will certainly enjoy quiet time you will also note the hustle and bustle of an industrious family and employees. Pots, pans, water kettle, French press, glasses and mugs, plates, silverware, etc. is there for you. In the photos you will see the stairs - it is not handicap accessible.
Kid friendly. Quiet and active. Calm and fun. Few cars.
  • We loved our time at Shannon’s place! The views of the sunrise out the windows on one side and overlooking the farm out the others were amazing. The space was clean, comfortable and functional. Highly recommended!

    Heather2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon's place is cute and homey. The location is perfect. It is close to town and had everything we needed. It was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again.

  • Shannon ‘s place was exactly what I needed. It was clean had all the amenities to make my stay comfortable.

    Monika2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon was a fantastic host! I certainly loved having the fresh chicken eggs in the fridge upon my arrival. Excellent communication, a beautiful and clean, quiet space with lovely views. They even have the walk shoveled for me when it snowed. A great place for a long term stay!

    Meredith2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet quiet place with delicious organic eggs await you.

  • Great experience

    Ziwen2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space, warm, sparkling clean, dog-friendly. For us it was quiet, since we were there in late-ish fall - that may vary depending on season, as it's a working farm. Nice private space on a second floor overlooking the farm and the stark, lovely hillsides in Eastern WA. Two thumbs and a paw up from me, my partner, and my pooch.

    Megan2018-11-18T00:00:00Z

The furniture is comfortable. We didn't have a chance to use the firepit but look forward to doing so next time that we stay here!

  • A really great place for my one night stay. The apartment is much bigger than expected, with a small, but cozy bed and a really great sofa in the living room. The hunting decor inside was great, it felt like being in the wildness. Thanks so much.

  • Very nice place with plenty of room.

    Kolton2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and perfect for our large group. It has everything we could have possibly needed or wanted. The owners are friendly and helpful!

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This house is huge, well furnish, and quiet. It was so nice to have Ray and Tammy across the yard for any porblems that could have arose, but none did.

    Kyle2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for our group. Our group of 8 people all had our own space with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Tammy and Ray provided everything we could have needed from pots and pans to makeup removing wipes. Have to say the highlight was definitely getting to snuggle goats and little puppies. I mean, what more could you ask for?

    Rachel2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • #1 Raymond and Tammy are fantastic hosts. They were kind, gracious and helpful throughout. They also were knowledgeable about the area. The house is just outside of town, but up on a plateau surrounded by orchards so it felt secluded. The space is large and was clean. The woodstove kept it warm (dropped into high 20's during our stay). Wi-fi worked well. The beds were very comfortable. The central location was perfect for day trips to Winthrop, Nighthawk and eastward. We had a wonderful time.

    Aaron2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Talk about a cool place, plenty of beds, very clean, well situated with rooms for work and play. Our family which included six adults, was very comfortable

    Troy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it! Ray and Tammy met us out front and showed us around. They were very friendly and the place had everything we needed. The space was heated with a wood burning stove, and we stayed plenty warm. It had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely stay again if we’re ever in Omak!

  • Had a lovely relaxing weekend at this beautiful out of the way cottage! We stayed beginning of January and it snowed and was beautiful. There is quite a hill you need to drive up so be aware in bad weather!! We can't wait to stay in the summer time!

    Amy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • If you book this place, you won’t regret it! Not only is it beautiful, but so peaceful too! The hot tub while it was snowing was amazing, and we would definitely recommend the Treasure Hunt. The cottage was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The cookies and sparkling cider were also a very nice touch. All in all, we will be back!

    Melissa2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This little cottage was just what we hoped for and then some. When we arrived there waiting for us was a bottle of sparkling cider, cookies, candies and a personal little note left for us that felt so special. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and the view from it. This was a great peaceful getaway. We have already recommended it to friends.

Welcome to our 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage in Tonasket that shares 1 acre with our home, an easy drive off the highway, and 5 minute walk into town. We are surrounded by orchards and the Okanogan River, and home to chickens and goats in a fenced pasture, as well as 2 small dogs and a cat. You will hear rural sounds of farmers, some highway noise, and the peace of nature on the river. Upon your arrival you will find a key with instructions, a fully stocked kitchen, coffee, and teas to enjoy.
This is a one-bedroom, one bathroom space. The kitchen is open to the living area, which contains a foldout single bed, as well as a loveseat couch. The bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, and closet. The front door opens onto a deck with table and chairs where you can enjoy eating and sitting with the river noise murmuring in the background. We will greet you when you arrive and then stay out of your way if you desire. You will see us walking back and forth between our house and the animal pasture on the other side of the cottage, to collect eggs, feed our goats, and take care of daily chores.
The cottage is on a lane just off the highway with 4 other homes. Our home is the last one on the lane; the cottage is the 4th house. There is a Mexican restaurant across the highway from our lane, as well as a grocery store. The river view makes the property special, as well as the wild life the river and surrounding area brings.
  • An amazing little getaway! A lovely little cottage, and the hosts were attentive, thoughtful, generous - there were fresh eggs, and homemade bread waiting for us when we arrived. The place was clean and had everything we needed, including kitchen supplies and extra pillows and blankets. Perfect little weekend getaway with nice view of the river! Would highly recommend!

  • Michelle and Doug were amazing hosts; so warm and welcoming! The farmhouse is adorable and stocked with everything you need! It is extremely peaceful and there is so much wildlife nearby, including the alpacas, horses, donkey, dogs and goats as neighbors 😁 Our kids loved visiting them daily and visiting the creek on the property, which we were even able to dip our toes in on a few warm days. The farmhouse is so cozy, yet has the modern amenities that you need. The place was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. If you’re looking for a fun, cozy, warm, beautiful and private place to stay, you’ve come to the right place. Thank you, Michelle and Doug for treating us like family and making our stay so memorable! And thank you, Michelle, for the amazing banana bread and Amish friendship bread...so good!

  • Linda is a gracious hostess and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. She opens her home and welcomes you into her way of life for a rare opportunity to experience living on the ranch. You will want to plan a return visit.

    David &Amp; Donna2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a caring hostess with deep knowledge of and experience with ranching. Her home is spotless, well stocked, and nestled in the beautiful hills and meadows above Tunk Valley. The kicker? Her homemade cinnamon rolls are THE BEST.

    Patricia2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place was the best experience we have ever had with AirBNB. Her ranch home is clean and comfortable, tucked into a small valley with beautiful views extending to Canada on a clear day. She greeted us warmly, and her cooking and baking is out-of-this-world. If she offers, we highly recommend taking her up on a home-prepared dinner during your stay. There's lots to do in the Tunk valley if you like the out-of-doors and exploring. Linda was so kind and engaging you'll leave wanting to come back to visit!

    Christine2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's place is a great place to stay. She is so sweet and kind, and her place was very neat and tidy. Wonderful place to stay!

    Shana2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a special place. Linda made us cinnamon rolls and honestly the best I have ever had. I wish we could have stayed for days but we were just traveling through. Waking up and seeing the snow tipped mountains on this beautiful quiet mountaintop was spectacular. I have never seen such a clean home and wish that Linda was my Aunt because I would probably never leave. She was so kind to our dogs. The brand new bed was beyond comfortable. I couldn't say enough kind things about Linda and her hospitality. Your rooms are downstairs with their own private entrance and bathrooms. We had as much privacy as we wanted. I cannot say enough great things about our visit there and we plan to stay there on our next trip through the area.

    Tammy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Linda is a great host, and her house is in a beautiful location atop a mountain. It's not the quickest place to get to, but this is rural Eastern Washington, so enjoy the ride.

  • Thank you so much for hosting my family at your place. It was so amazing and we really enjoyed our stay there:)

  • Linda's place is 25 minutes out from the highway and up in the hills and well worth the drive. The silence is so peaceful and Linda is a special host. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are large from the private entrance. Linda bakes like no other so breakfast is truly amazing. Thank you Linda for opening your house and your kindness to us!

Fantastic century old farmhouse located on a working cattle ranch in the rural Okanogan Valley. The Guesthouse puts you in the middle of an outdoor wonderland. Adventure awaits! Enjoy exclusive access to the property while you stay. Nearby access to public land as well. Stay and play in the beautiful Okanogan Valley!
Since 1940, Grandma's house has been a place of fun and rejuvenation. It was fondly nicknamed "The Halfway House" because it is a delightful place to get lost! Located just 9 miles south of Conconully, WA it has been a favorite stop to friends and family on their way to outdoor adventure. The Conconully area is known for it's central access to thousands of acres of state and federal land. It is an oasis of wide open spaces for every kind of outdoor enthusiast. Rich in the tradition of cattle ranching, Conconully is still home to working families, like ours. Grandma's house sits in the middle of our farm/ranch operation and on any given day you will witness the caretaking of animals and stewardship of the land. The house has a light, happy atmosphere and all of the comforts of home. Approximately 1500 square feet, the house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a nice washer and dryer set, a spacious kitchen with everything you need to create awesome meals and a big open dining room and living room. The beds, matresses, bedding and towels are all BRAND NEW! The majority of the house is covered with hardwood floors with exception to the two back bedrooms which are carpet. The décor is rustic western and includes many family heirlooms like cowhide rugs and animal furs as well as pictures and memorabilia from our cattle ranch. Hairdryers, soaps, trash bags and coffee are provided. The Halfway House sits in the middle of fields and meadows, only 300 feet from the creek. Guests will enjoy wildlife year round as the ranch is home to thousand of game birds, hawks, eagles, herons, geese, muledeer, whitetail deer, coyotes, bobcats and an occasional black bear. The creek is home to Rainbow Trout and some whopper Brown Trout for the fishing enthusiast. (Catch and release only.) Nearby lakes are home to Blue Gill, Crappie, Bass, Trout and Kokanee. The Okanogan and Columbia Rivers host Steelhead and Salmon fishing opportunities just a short drive from the house. Bring your rubber boots and hiking boots!! Little ones can spend entire days in the meadow, netting bugs and tadpoles during the summer months or tromping and playing in the snow during winter. • Nicole's rental is absolutely one of the best Air BnB's that we have ever stayed at! Beautiful decor, super clean, comfortable beds, full kitchen, plenty of parking, fantastic scenery. We were lucky enough to be visited by deer, pheasants, and a giant barn owl. Her hospitality is unmatched. This is our second year renting at Nicole's. We cannot wait until next year's visit!

  • My stay on the Ranch was pleasant and all my needs were met thanks to Nicole and her family. They were kind and offered plenty of advice on the local area. The area is one of stoic beauty and the residents of the area reflect that. Any stay in the area will be to remember and if you are trying to slow down your life; a beer out on the porch enjoying a beautiful day is one way to do it. Expect plenty of deer, birds of all kinds, and the everyday ranch work activities involved in producing the food you eat every day. It's one of a kind.

  • A spacious and such a beautiful farm house with lots of space to be in the backyard!! And lots of games and activities to do at the house itself! We loved it!

  • This was my third stay at Nicole’s guest house and finally had the pleasure of meeting her and her family. They are so sweet and kind! The guest house is spacious, clean with all the amenities one could ask for. Would absolutely recommend staying here if you’ll be in the area. The quality of stay and value was exceptional! Thx again!

  • Cabin in the woods with awesome wood burning stove. We snuggled in, played games, drank cocktails around the fire and went sledding down the driveway that Steve plough’d for us. There were plenty of blankets to keep us warm at night. Cabin was clean and well laid out. Steve helped us navigate the property and helped us with instructions when the weather got bad (almost didn’t make it, so much snow!) We would definitely stay here again.

Experience a true wilderness sanctuary in Central Washington! This rustic lakefront cabin is situated on 600 private acres in the Chiliwist Valley. Surrounded by public forest, you will find an abundance of tranquility in this remote mountain getaway. While the lakefront cabin sleeps 5 guests, a smaller cabin next door can accommodate 2 additional guests. (no kitchen, just a studio) These cabins may be rented together for $250/night.
There is a fully functioning fire pit for cooking and or just for sitting around roasting marshmallows, when fires are allowed. Burn bans are typically in effect between July 4th and Labor Day due to the high fire danger. Even though it feels remote, the town of Malott is just six miles away with one small convenience store and limited inventory. The closest gas station and grocery store is located in the town of Okanogan, approximately 15 minutes further north.
  • Excellent spot. If you are looking for a basecamp in the area or just want to get away from it all, this is the place.

    Kyle And Carla2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • You should stop and book this private, quiet, remote cabin. Place is super clean with outstanding amenities. The pictures truly don’t do property justice. Everything worked and was very nicely appointed. Perfect for a true getaway from daily life. I think one of my quests put it best if you stayed long enough you’d truly decompress and relax. The hiking views were amazing and canoeing on the lake was fantastic.

    Trent2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, wonderful cabin! My dogs had the time of their lives and so did we. It was so peaceful and we only saw one person the entire time. I finally got to just relax with a good book. Perfect place.

    Emily2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would give this place a 10. Beautiful scenic view. Very clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need just like being home. They definitely go above and beyond with your needs in mind, such as life jackets for water safety and first aid kits. Looking forward to going back in the near future.

    Gordon2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic! We had the property to ourselves. It is very secluded and has no cell or phone service. We arrived and greeted by a river otter, and deer visted nightly . My son has never seen the stars shine so bright. There is a lot to explore on the property, but it's also close enough to Winthrop and Chelan for day trips. If you dislike bugs this might not be a good place for you, it's just nature but there is a lot them. One thing to be careful is that the door sometimes locks by itself so we always kept the key outside after it locked on us the first time.

    Stephanie2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! If you want to get away from it all and get some peace and quiet this is it! The cabin was great with games, movies and a dart board. But the outside area was awesome! There's a creek coming down the hill behind the cabin that you can hear from inside and there's a little lake full of turtles with all kinds of boats to use on it. Even though there's no wifi or phone service, we didn't miss it at all.

    Carol2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very welcoming cabin! Family and pet friendly! Lots to do and see or just sit and relax on the porch. Loved being disconnected for a few days!

    Barb2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The pics don’t do this magical place justice. Well off the grid with nothing but views, wildlife and time to enjoy with friends and family. My son free ranged all over, my city dog learned to swim and my wife and I drank beer while the stars came out. Heaven.

  • Rita & Greg are wonderful hosts. River Rose B&B was a cozy little sanctuary for our family of four. The location was well situated for us as we were up at Loup Loup for two days as well as Twisp, Winthrop, and Mazama. Rita’s baking is truly delicious. The kids had fun with the hens and the goats. A great place from which to explore the Methow.

  • Couldn’t ask for a better host and place to stay. The food was amazing and Rita was extremely kind and a joy to talk to. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

    Will2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rita’s B&B is a nice little spot on the Columbia River. The four adults and dog enjoyed 2 nights in January to get some x-country skiing in Mazama about 35 min away. Rita was extremely hospitable, helping us feel at home. Her breakfasts were delightful and left us so full we didn’t need lunch! I’m sure summers are lovely along the river. Too bad we couldn’t enjoy more time outdoors on her farm.

    Nicholas2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rita and Greg are such lovely and interesting people. They were wonderfully accommodating and the fresh baked goods are ALL FROM SCRATCH and delicious. Rita bakes amazing gluten free treats and fresh foods grown from their own garden. Their eggs are also out of this world tasty 😋

    Jasmine2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rita and Greg were the best ever hosts I have ever had!! And I've been to a tonne of B&Bs. It was a wholesome experience, living at their home, roaming their grounds, playing with their farm animals, eating the AMAZING food Rita made us, and most of all, getting to know the amazing people they are!!! The little town of Twisp nearby is a must visit too. Very nice and open minded people around. Had a blast overall. Couldn't have asked for better :) Puru

  • This is an amazing property. Having stayed in Airbnb‘s around the world, Rita and her husband do it right. The location was ideal for “wetting a line“ in the Methow river out the back of their property, and the house was lovely and clean. The homemade breakfasts were a surprise as we saw something mentioned in the advert, but didn’t expect what we received. The food was beautifully made.

  • Rita and Greg have created such an amazing experience. The space is gorgeous and cozy (very family friendly), their hospitality is warm and inviting, and Rita’s cooking is AMAZING! This was such a memorable experience for us and we will definitely be returning next time we’re in the Methow Valley to see the Northern Cascades. Thank you, Rita and Greg!!

    Michelle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Just stay here, no hesitation needed! Rita was fabulous and makes the best treats. This was by far one of my favorite places I’ve stayed. True R&R, beautiful with the best food. All the cozy vibes you can think of. Thanks Rita!

High Valley House has panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains from the living room or spacious deck. Start the BBQ in the evening and listen for the howl of distant coyotes as the sun sets across the Eastern Cascades to reveal the showcase of moonlit evenings, stars, and occasional meteor showers. Bring binoculars for the amazing scenery. NOTE: Roads do require consideration of guests with discomfort of heights and 4 miles of dirt road.
High Valley House is 10 minutes out of the "Heart of 3 Valleys", Pateros,Wa. We are situated on 10 acres. With the open flooring/ great room effect and stunning views you will feel right at home. High Valley is 15 minutes out of Pateros. 35 minutes from Chelan (25 miles) An hour from Omak (42 miles) Also a bit over 45 minutes to Twisp (38 miles) and Winthrop is 47 miles. Check out the Guide book on this site. :)
High Valley High House is situated on 10 acres. My closest neighbors are the horses across the road and of course their owners. :) All the surrounding acreage is left to natural habitat. You may see deer (mule and whitetail), coyotes, quail, chukar, Hungarian partridge, eagles, etc. The well maintained unpaved county road will get your car dusty in the warm months. The road is plowed in the winter by Okanagan County. There are miles of primitive roads for 4x4's, ATV's, and snowmobiles. Also horse friendly with vast acreage of state land, however, we do not have fencing. Property West of Bill Shaw Road is private. Please respect private property. Area is open range and cattle are often seen grazing.

This beautiful private cabin is part of a famous and exclusive 300 acre Lodge and Ranch near Twisp, Washington, in the heart of the Methow Valley. The ranch offers sweeping views in all directions. The cabin is just above Beaver Creek, with easy access, and is clean and gorgeous inside and out. With huge log beams, full kitchen, fabulous 20-person dining table and oversized stone fireplace, it is unsurpassed.
No expense was spared in the design and construction of the log cabin, which hosted the owners while they were building the main lodge, which is famous for being the largest private residence in Okanogan County. From the glowing chandelier to the impressive fireplace and magnificent wood details, the cabin is sure to make your stay memorable! In addition, as honored guests you are welcome to enjoy the other features of the gated-access ranch property.
The ranch is 10 minutes from Loup Loup Ski Area and 5 minutes from Twisp along Highway 20. Twisp has groceries, restaurants, gas stations, ski rentals, and a pharmacy. The Methow Valley is world renowned for its natural beauty in winter and summer.
  • This is a beautiful log cabin with gorgeous views of the dry and snowy mountains on a gated ranch. The nearby town of Twisp is adorable and has several options for food and browsing. Sunrise through the cabin windows is beautiful, and we heard owl hoots nearby. The space is larger and nicer than it appeared in the pictures, with a huge wood fireplace and a giant wood slab dining table. We found everything we needed for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing. There are some games and toys for the kids and cool quirky antiques. Exploring the large ranch was great fun, and we enjoyed star gazing and listening to the creek next to the house. We also enjoyed throwing ice across the frozen creek and listening to the cool sounds. The house is close enough to the two sweet horses to smell them from the parking pad, so if you have kids with sensory issues that might be something to consider. Communication was quick and friendly. We had a restful wonderful stay here and recommend it to other families.

  • We had a spectacular stay at the cabin! It’s majestic, beautifully designed, full of gorgeous wood and lovely old things. And the table! A gorgeous work of logging art. Our family thoroughly enjoyed relaxing here over the Thanksgiving holiday and reconnecting. My daughter love the bear claw tub. We highly recommend this outstanding stay!

Night life is available to the North in Twisp and Winthrop (a Western themed town) featuring several brew pubs, nice eateries, and cider houses, ice and roller skating, movie theatre, and put put golf. Local Artisans abound in our area and have their crafts on display in shops both in Twisp and Winthrop. Our Twisp Farmers Market is active mid April through October. To the South you will find the towns of Pateros and Brewster also featuring restaurants, outdoor music & dancing.
  • We came to the Winthrop area for the Balloon Festival. We didn’t want to stay in town. We chose Marie and Gary’s place for the location on the river and the hot tub. We loved the bunkhouse. It had everything we needed. We used the grill to cook. And enjoyed the deck and the propane fire pit. Marie and Gary are very gracious host. We did choose to visit a bit. But they gave us all the privacy that we wanted. We also got a chance to visit with Jason. The whole experience was wonderful. And we are looking forward to a return trip!

  • Marie and Gary’s place was perfect for a special weekend for myself and my partner. It was quiet and beautiful. Clean and had everything we needed. Gary and Marie were incredible hosts, easy to communicate with and just lovely humans and generous people.

    Nathan2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great visit! The river was beautiful, the hottub was hot, and Marie and Gary left us supplies to make root-beer floats :)

    Paul2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Bunkhouse was the perfect remote get away that I was looking for. The place was very clean and orderly, with wonderful extra touches of snacks and drinks. The hot tub by the creek was by far my favorite time...so quiet and peaceful with only the sound of the rushing water. Wonderful, peaceful time of solitude!

    Siobhan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly a gem. A quiet and unpretentious perch alongside the Methow river, and a perfect getaway for an individual or couple, summer or winter. Immaculate and tidy, all of the amenities needed for a comfy stay are present. A soak in the spotless hot tub after a day of snowshoeing, listening to the ice floes crackling their way down the river, is the epitome of relaxation. And the hosts, Marie and Gary, are so thoughtful and gracious that it truly feels like staying with family (maybe even better). Though the cabin is directly adjacent the main house and connected by a breezeway, there are no issues at all with privacy. This is everything you'll need for a simple and comfortable getaway, in one compact and tidy package, set on a quiet little slice of paradise.

    Dan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome getaway for my wife and I. Marie and Gary were extremely friendly and accommodating. Thank you! :)

    Justin2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Gary's place was really cozy. It was nice and clean and a great place to come back to after hiking around in the woods all day.

    Jason2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and relaxing! Marie and Gary are warm, welcoming and accommodating hosts, and we enjoyed our stay very much! Every little detail was thoroughly thought through - we wanted for nothing. And the space was sparkling clean! The location is beautiful. We watched sunrises in the hot tub with coffee, and sunsets in the hot tub with wine! Close to nice little towns and recreating in the cascades. Highly recommend!

  • The Lark Suite was the perfect little getaway in Twisp. Close to all shops and restaurants. Communication with Jenn was very easy and her recommendations were spot on.

  • Jenn’s place is in great location to explore Twisp. She was quick to respond if we had any questions and gave great recommendations.

  • Great location for visiting Methow Valley. Less than 10 miles from Winthrop Twisp is a small town with several small family run restaurants and a wonderful bakery. The apartment was well equipped, clean and a very comfortable bed and nice linens and towels. The apartment is in an older historic building that has been very well maintained. Jenn was great with communication. We would recommend The Lark suite for your Methow Valley stay.

2 Bedroom house on the Methow River, 8 miles up river from Alta Lake. We are a beautiful, short, 29 mile drive from downtown Chelan. NOTE: OWNER HAS 9 friendly dogs. YOU MUST ENJOY BEING AROUND Dogs. Two of your furry pets are welcome also.
Clean cozy new furniture on the methow river. Peaceful retreat away from all the hustle and bustle of City Life
It's very peaceful and quiet along the methow river you will hear standard Farm noises early in the morning from the animals. And in the springtime the river is running high and you need to be careful because the currents are swift.
  • Great place!! We enjoyed our time at the great escape! Our family loved hanging out at the river. Shawna was very friendly and was very hospitable! Very dog friendly place!!!

  • What a surprise gem. This has been one of my favorite air bnb stays so far. The hosts were so sweet and accommodated our needs. The house is so beautiful, we listened to the river as we slept. They have the sweetest pack of pups that roams the gardens with their piggy friend and it’s just so adorable. If you’re not into animals this probably isn’t for you, but we LOVE animals and this place with life goals. The house was so clean and comfortable, comfiest air bnb bed I’ve ever slept in. You can see the Milky Way from the front yard. It’s so peaceful. The kitchen was so fun to cook in, huge space with everything you need. Washer and dryer too. We can’t wait to come back and stay next summer, this place was a serious gem. And not far from Chelan either.

The Sage is the place to come if you want to escape from the city, as it is located about half an hour from the town of Tonasket. You will enjoy the view of the mountains and nature as you drive up to the Sage. The home was meant to enjoy nature and off grid living with solar and wind power. With this said you will or may see bugs, snakes, bears, and other wildlife in the area. We truly enjoy everything about the Sage and keep it as natural as we can for others to enjoy as well.
If you enjoy the whisper of wind in the pine trees. If you have the desire to enjoy a night full of stars. If you have the time to slip away from the hustle of the city. If you wish you could listen to the silence of the frogs and crickets singing you to sleep. If you have the time it will be your pleasure to come stay at our alternative wind/sun powered earth home and naturally kept property in Washington State. The spring bloom may be your choice or maybe you would like to choose spending the winter snowed in by the fireplace with a cup of coffee, or maybe in the library writing or painting. However your choice, the Sage will be a perfect setting for your relaxation away from the deadlines and endless meetings at your workplace. This sanctuary will spawn the creative ideas of your next project or program which you have wanted to initiate. We accept the idea that you may want to complete a specialized project or masterpiece from start to finish or maybe just get the idea off the ground for the next executive presentation or the Sage may be the jumping off point for your long journey to completion of a personal masterpiece of art. Whichever selection of the latter you may have, you are welcome at the "Sage" anytime you may need.
We Love The neighborhood surrounding The Sage because it is filled with Nature. Yes there are people but you will most likely see more natural flora and fauna than you will ever see of the colleagues which you would see in the hustle bustle of the city or village

TEMPORARY COUNTYWIDE CLOSURE - COVID 19 (except emergency/health workers). 1BR Tamarack Cottage is a cheerful mini-version of great-grandma's 40s farmhouse shoehorned into a wee depression-era cottage. Small but comfy, with wifi and smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix), hang out inside or explore beautiful north central Washington. Regional attractions are easy jaunts -- mere minutes to a couple hours each way. Grocery store 2 blocks away. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Tamarack is one of my Kokanee Cottages -- the east half of what may be the world's smallest duplex. (Pine Cone is the west half, separate entrances at opposite ends of buidling.) Even though Tamarack is a wee one-bedroom unit, it has everything you need to make your stay in the country a pleasure -- a little kitchen with vintage kitchen queen and apartment-sized classic harvest gold range, microwave, crockpot, blender, toaster, wee food processor, espresso machine, and regular coffeemaker. A full-size fridge/freezer guarantees you'll never have to worry about cold drinks. No dishwasher, but a nice porcelain double sink. The classic chrome and yellow Formica kitchen table is a cheery focal point, and a place to roll out cookie dough because countertop space is pretty much nonexistent. Check out the art nouveau pressback chairs, which don't go with the table the least little bit, but I couldn't resist them, and you've got to sit on something. The smart HDTV (antenna/Netflix) and Blu-ray DVD player perch on the living room curio case. The Victorian-style daybed has a super-comfy memory foam mattress and scads of cushions to prop you up as much as you want. The overflow teacups and teapots from neighboring Nootka Rose Cottage are in the curved glass curio cabinet along with the crystal wine glasses, sip sip. Vintage floral prints and etchings and an awesome tole sconce sweeten up the living room. In the bedroom, a 50s bed frame (turquoise as found) goes perfectly with the cheerful plaid patchwork and floral cotton quilts. The mattress is divine. My most favorite fine art print (baby ducklings by Carl Brenders) welcomes you when you enter, and a classic landscape offers a restful view when it's time to go to sleep after a glorious day in the country. The two Royal Canadian Mounted Police vintage prints in the cottage are a nod to my Canadian roots. The bathroom has the usual facilities without, actually, a bath (just a shower). And a really big floral print I scored at the Barter Fair for a pittance.
  • Clean and centrally located couldn't ask for much more!

  • This is a fantastic spot and by far the best option in the Okanogan Omak area. The places are cute, warm, extremely clean, and have sweet amenities like a toothbrush and stacks of towels. This is my second stay, and both times very easy to organize. I’d highly recommend this!

  • Geralyne’s cottages are the best places to stay in Okanogan, hands down! We have stayed in 1, 2, and 3, and they are all awesome. They are not huge and not stainless-and-glass, they are cozy, comfy, and cute. Geralyne is the best host, as she has thought of everything you might need. If there is something she hasn’t thought of, you contact her and she helps you out. Definitely a great place to stay!

TEMPORARY COUNTYWIDE CLOSURE - COVID 19 (except emergency/health workers). 2BR Saskatoon Cottage is a quiet hideaway in a quiet little town - a shabby chic charmer with a modern essentials to make your stay in Washington State's heartland cozy and comfortable. Regional attractions are easy day trips - less than 2 hours each way. Walk to grocery store (2 blocks). Small pet friendly. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. Telework or keep grandma out of trouble in vintage style.
Saskatoon is the second largest of my Kokanee Cottages, with two wee bedrooms and everything you need for a great night's sleep - real antique double beds (note: shorter than modern queen and king beds) with cotton sheets and quilts, lots of pillows, thick memory foam mattresses, and free-standing air conditioners in the summer (floor fan in the living room). The mid-century modern living/dining room is a great place to visit or play games with friends and family, read books, or watch Netflix. The galley kitchen is teensy but practical, with a range for pancakes and pizzas, a full-size fridge/freezer for icy cold drinks, a microwave, blender, crockpot, waffle iron, coffee maker, and espresso machine. The little bathroom has a shower (no tub). Saskatoon is located at the rear of the property, with Salmon creek just a few feet away. This charming cottage (a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law), in its delightful location, was a simple dusty cabin for half a century before being discovered and thoroughly transformed.
Enjoy the spacious outdoor setting, and find inside a surprisingly roomy bedroom with a queen-sized bed (double sleeper-sofa is also available), a three-quarter custom crafted bath, fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, private yard and deck off the living room with scenic views overlooking the lush river bottom. The historic rustic exterior has been saved intentionally, while the interior has been fully remodeled featuring unique wood-craft, creating a luxuriously modern but warm and calming abode. The naturally landscaped yard gives way to a birds-eye view of the river forest. In the early and late hours of the day, the river glints through the trees accompanied by the constant riffle of water over rocks. The setting is remarkably wild for being a short comfortable stroll from downtown Twisp. The Saturday Farmers Market is minutes away by foot, as is the Cinnamon Twisp Bakery for breakfast and the Twisp River Pub for lunch, dinner or live music in the evening.

Walk to the park, the river, the community pool or the bakery; plan a night at the Merc community theatre or a visit to Confluence Art Gallery and just a short drive to your favorite hiking, biking or cross-country ski trail. Our comfortable three bedroom home has a gas fireplace in the cozy living room, a well landscaped fenced-in yard, outdoor patio, fully equipped family kitchen, lots of family games, cable TV, DVD and wireless internet.
  • Wonderful and cute home just down the way from Twisp’s shops and city park. Everything was as we would have hoped for. • We loved our stay at this house. It was a very convenient location. Cozy, awesome fenced yard for the dog, and clean. You can expect a great spice cupboard! We stayed for quite a few days and cooked our own meals most of the time. The bbq was great, the pots and pan selection was slim though. Otherwise it’s such a great spot! Hometown pizza is so good, la fonda Lopez for Mexican good and Michaels drive through coffee for some tasty coffee! I would totally stay here again.

  • This is a comfortable place, and if you like Twisp, (and what's not to like?) this is a well-situated home with numerous amenities. Leave your cook books at home, this kitchen comes with a library of them. Bear in mind there's one bathroom, (and it's nice), but on the ground floor, so don't let the older guys sleep usptairs. Good floorboard heaters, and gas fireplace.

Regional attractions are less than 2 hours each way -- wineries, ghost towns, rodeos, antique stores, beaches, high valley back roads. Or curl up with a cozy mystery and a cup of tea. Our late checkout lets you spend the whole weekend in the country. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. No pets.
Nootka Rose is the middling of my Kokanee Cottages – a sweet one-bedroom Cape Cod. Its main room runs the length of the cottage, with what the English call a snug at one end (a cozy place to hang out by the electric fire and telly), a dining area at the other, and a huge sink-into-chintz couch in the middle. The snug is a great place to lounge and visit, marathon through all Laura Child's Teashop Mysteries, watch DVDs or Netflix on the HD Smart TV, or drool over Pinterest pix on your laptop. Serve tea from the silverplate set on the tea cart, or from one of the many china teapots. Choose from dozens (seriously) of bone china tea cups. Or sip champagne from paper-thin flutes. Straddling the center of the salon is a luxurious chintz couch -- lounge at your own risk, you’ll not be inclined to get up again. In fact, it’s a fine place for a second or third person to spend the night. The galley kitchen has most everything for baking and cooking except actual counter space (expand into the dining area if you’re rolling out pie or cookie dough). Brew a cappucino with the epressso machine, bake scones in the vintage range. The kitchen is also home to the stacked washer/dryer (good for small and medium loads). In the single bedroom, the lovely antique bed frame anchors a deep memory foam mattress and lots of pillows, cotton sheets, and quilts, for super sweet dreams. All the art in the cottage is from thrift stores; the lavish lighting from great deals on Ebay. The wee bathroom, redone from the joists up, ended up sleek and modern with lots of chrome -- and some crystal for extra charm. Nootka Rose Cottage is a delightful surprise hiding inside a house that looks just like the one every child draws. You’ll love to pamper yourself and pour a cuppa in this eclectic English/French country retreat.
  • Geralyne has gone to great lengths to make her cozy Kokanee cottages intriguing and user friendly. In the heart of Okanogan, you are within walking distance of the quaint town and a short drive to Omak or skiing at Loup Loup. This was our second stay and we will be back.

  • Nice place, got everything you could need!

  • It is a small cute house recommended for Japanese people. There are quite different points compared to Japanese accommodation, but it is the best way to experience a small country house in the American countryside, in a good sense or a little surprise. It is quite rural, but you can enjoy canoeing and fishing. There is also a casino nearby. In Japan, a small village like Karuizawa can be visited within one hour. It's great to rent a car and take it easy. Recommended for experiencing Deep America. It is a place where a single Japanese moved in the early Meiji period and became a photographer and finished his life.

  • A quiet, cozy, French style inspired interior and a great host. A nice surprise was to see quail so close coming to a feeder. My wife and I were looking for a place to receive the new year, and we found it. We would definitely go back.

  • This is a beautiful place, a lovely spot I called home for almost 5 months. As travel nurse, I stay in many Airbnbs -- this is the most comfortable yet. A home away from home. Enjoy your stay here. It is a place filled with warmth and love.

Chelan/Pateros/Winthrop 3 Bedroom, 2 bath home. Beautiful mountain views and the Methow valley below. Summer is coming and there are beautiful places to visit during your stay. Spectacular mountain/river view home! This 3 bedroom/loft Lindal cedar home is situated in the peaceful Methow Valley. With commanding views of the Chelan Saw tooth Ridge and the Methow River down in the valley. A fantastic getaway for the whole family and even your pets will love the outdoor freedom.
  • This is a beautiful property with amazing views. The pictures on the listing do not do these views justice. Overall a great space with great energy. I will be keeping this one on my list to visit again.

  • "This view just doesn't quit!" Whether it's the morning alpenglow, the midday mountains, or the stars above the hot tub, this place is wonderful to admire the scenery. We even managed to drive up the dirt road in my little Mazda, although I could see how it would be challenging to get to the house in bad weather.

  • My friends and I had a great stay at this incredible retreat on top of the hill! Amazing views and privacy, hot tub, everything you could ask for! Thad was very quick and helpful in responding to any questions or concerns about our accommodations. We would definitely choose this home again. You will absolutely love it!

  • Long dusty road out to a quiet oasis with amazing views.

    Matt2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and gorgeous place. You'll definitely love the stay here. There was no wifi but you'll have perfect cell signal, so you're not completely in the middle of no where. They do have unpaved roads leading to the house so make sure to prepare for that. Other than that, the place has everything you can really ask for and more. One of my favorite places to stay so far. Thad was super responsive and always willing to help. So that was a plus. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

  • This house is hidden in an apple orchard, and has an amazing view of the Columbia River from the dock down on the water or the porch that overlooks it from up above. The house is very well kept and has tons of space to hang out, inside or outside. The kitchen is also well-equipped with pots, pans, cooking utensils, and spices!

2BR Cottonwood Cottage is a step back in time to simple comforts and farmhouse/cabin décor, with a few modern luxuries to make your stay in Washington State's heartland even more enjoyable. Regional attractions are easy day trips - less than 2 hours each way. Wineries, ghost towns, rodeos, antique stores, beaches, back roads - explore them all, or curl up with a good book. Small well-behaved pet okay. Not suitable for children or the physically challenged..
Cottonwood is the largest of my Kokanee Cottages, with two small but charming bedrooms and everything you need for a great night's sleep – vintage and antique double beds (note: shorter than modern queen and king beds) with cotton sheets and patchwork quilts, lots of pillows, thick memory foam mattresses. The living room is a great place to lounge and visit with friends and family, read books from the great selection in the bookcase, or watch the widescreen HD Smart TV. DVDs, jigsaw puzzles and board games are in the suitcases under the basket made from used lassos. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a fabulous meal with local produce, and a killer vintage egg beater collection. Make fresh pasta, jam, espresso, cocktails. There's only one bathroom, but the new toilet does what it's supposed to do very well. The computer desk shares space with the washer and dryer. Check out all the fabulous vintage light fixtures (and one crazy modern one). Vintage and limited edition art prints showcase nature’s finest. You'll love the retro look and relaxed ambiance of Cottonwood Cottage, and want to "come home" again and again.

  • Great location in town, but close to everything. Host and staff are very accommodating. Highly recommend. Super cute fleamarket finds galore. Small touches that make you feel like you’re at home abound. Post is very accommodating if you need to bring a canine child or two.

  • Cottonwood Cottage is a comfortable two bedroom rental with a fun decor and many thoughtful touches. It was perfect for our visit to the area to see the Omak Stampede. We appreciated the 3 air conditioners and the coffee maker. There are many more kitchen gadgets available but we didn't do any cooking. Geralyne provided a wealth of information about the Stampede and Suicide race as it was our first time attending. She also made recommendations for mini road trips to the attractions in the surrounding area. We found the cottage to be a great value.

    Kierke2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
