End your day pond side roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.
  • An amazingly comfortable and relaxing cottage. The place was spotless and the decorations added a really nice rustic touch. We spent a weekend and while we initially planned on hiking and spending more time in the city, we were awestruck with the beauty of the lake, the cottage and spent more time cooking, sitting next to the fire pit watching the sunsets, and catching up on shows. The kitchen had everything we needed and nothing beats enjoying a cup of tea/coffee in the morning with the views. The lake did freeze over and if you have your own skates- highly recommended to bring them. Place did get a bit chilly but the heaters were a great touch.

  • This is a cabin to make Thoreau proud. Built (stylishly) of recycled materials on the shore of a pristine pond surrounded by forest, it is the perfect place to write. The only aspect Thoreau might find to critique is something I very much appreciated: a number of amenities to make it cozy and relaxing, including a full kitchen, hot shower, washing machine, and even a discreet TV in each room. I came to this cabin to do exactly what its name suggests: write. And every element of the cabin helped me do just that, from the solitude to the affirming quotes about writing framed on the walls. I would certainly come back, whether to write another chapter or for a romantic getaway with my wife. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

  • The cabin was amazing! We loved every minute of our trip. The cabin is cozy and warm with the most amazing view of Tully Pond. We couldn’t believe we were right on the water! From the kitchen to the bathroom and the bedroom it has everything you need. The location of the cabin offers so much to do in the surrounding area. No matter what time of year you go you will enjoy your stay.

  • This cabin was everything we hoped it would be! We absolutely loved our winter weekend on Tully Pond and enjoyed hiking through the woods near by. We will definitely come back again!

  • Our winter long weekend at Patti’s cottage was great. The hiking in this area was great, and spending time on the frozen Tully Pond was super fun for our pup. The custom cottage itself is even cooler than the pictures can show. The entire place is custom built and really neat! We definitely plan to return.

  • My boyfriend and I had a great long weekend stay at Patti’s cabin. We were warm and cozy despite the freezing temps of January outside. The cabin is fun and rustic with creative design features...several of my friends now I want a getaway to the cabin after seeing my Instagram post! It was stocked with all the basics in the kitchen and bathroom areas- very thoughtful. We slept so well because it was very quiet and peaceful there. The views of the pond are beautiful and the stars at night are amazing. Patti was warm, kind, helpful and receptive to my questions. Her friend even helped me out when my car battery died! I would definitely stay here again and can recommend this cabin for anyone hoping for a cozy weekend away. If you stay in this cabin during winter I also recommend checking out the Northfield mountain cross-country ski area for cross country skiing or snowshoeing. It’s a beautiful forest!

  • The property was absolutely perfect! It was spotlessly clean. It is small, but the setup and organization made amazing use of the space and it felt plenty large enough. The outdoor space is also great! Our dog absolutely loved chilling on the big deck that looks out over the lake. There are a few houses nearby (including one that shares a driveway with this property) but we had plenty of space to play. If you have a dog with people/animal reactivity the other house does directly share the yard (ie no fence or other divider) but it was unoccupied while we where there. This property was the perfect escape from the craziness of life and Patti was an excellent host!

Experience farm life at our secluded permaculture homestead. Cozy, clean and comfortable and just across the street from the animal barn which houses our horses, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens and livestock guardian dog (all super friendly and VERY into cuddles). Conveniently located just minutes from Amherst town center (4 miles). A perfect woodland getaway with easy access to the Robert Frost Trail and Metacomet Monadnock Trail.
Our farm is located on a quiet, rural dirt road, surrounded by forest and edged by a babbling brook. Here, my mother and I, as well as a crew of seasonal interns, work to realize a vision for our 13 acres in which the land both provides for our survival needs and is made healthier in the process. You can help support this vision by staying with us! Built in 1812, our farm house is rustic, though well kept. The bedroom itself is separate from the other downstairs living spaces and has a private feel. Our friendly flat coat retriever, Oscar, though an outdoor dog, will greet you as you arrive. Our Border collie, Elka, and Havanese, Pumpkin, spend their nights inside and will happily snuggle you by the fire in the evenings. Clearly, being an animal lover is a must for this farm stay.
We are a 5 min drive from Cushman Market and Cafe. There are also many miles of hiking trails that are accessible through our backyard.
  • Such a lovely place! Relaxing, filled to the brim with interesting books, and home to several very friendly dogs. This homestead is nestled on a quiet backroad and within walking distance to the Robert Frost trail. Zoe and family made me feel welcome, and I will definitely be back when I’m in the area!

    John2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe is really friendly, the Traveler's Room was very cozy, and the dogs are the best. I'll definitely stay here again if I end up back in Amherst.

  • Absolutely loved staying here! I unfortunately was sick most of the time, but it was a very peaceful getaway especially since I wasn't feeling well. Couldn't have asked for a better place to have a bit of respite. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the animals were lovely. Would love to come stay again.

Welcome to Lake Mattawa! Our charming house on the lake offers beautiful views from the elevated deck, as well as a private dock to jump right into the clear water. In cooler weather, enjoy a fire in the fieldstone fireplace. The house is close to all that Western Massachusetts has to offer during all 4 seasons - hiking, fishing, skiing, antiquing & more. 30 minutes from Amherst & Greenfield, 45 from Keene NH & Brattleboro VT, 60 from Springfield & Worcester, & 90 from Providence and Boston.
The house is a lake retreat built in the 1950s from salvaged 19th century barn timbers and includes a fieldstone fireplace. The fireplace is usable throughout the year. The living room, kitchen and dining area are on the first floor and the bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. The queen bedroom is accessible through the bathroom. There is a deck overlooking the lake as well as a private dock directly across the street from the house with a canoe and kayak. The canoe & kayak are usable as long as the lake is ice-free (generally April through November). The lake is well stocked and is a popular spot for local fishermen all year round. Lake Mattawa has a 10HP limit for boats, so there aren't any jetskis or loud motorboats.
The house is located on a rural road lined with a mixture of summer and year-round homes. There is a small town beach less than half a mile down the road that's perfect for small children. Orange Center is less than 10 minutes from the house, and there are restaurants, gas stations, pharmacies and grocery stores all within 15 minutes of the house.
  • Very comfortable accommodations with a well equipped kitchen in a quiet location. Would definitely visit again.

    Linda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eric and Joanne's cabin on the lake is a great option for a peaceful stay in a quiet area. The house itself is charming and well-maintained, and the hosts provide you virtually everything you'd need in terms of kitchen supplies and amenities. Communication was always easy and we didn't encounter any issues during our weekend stay. Would certainly recommend.

    Matt2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was immaculate! We loved the fireplace and the big kitchen that had everything we needed. The location was great as we were so close to so many different hiking trails and the Quabbin Reservoir Nature Reserve. We would definitely go back.

  • Nice cozy cabin with a fireplace.

    Michael2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy, comfortable lake house! We stayed for a week and enjoyed seeing various sights during the day and relaxing by the fire at night. Very well-equipped kitchen- we had everything we needed to cook all our meals.

    Kristen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic winter weekend getaway at Eric’s cabin - beautiful location and lake views, cozy space with a fireplace, nearby trails and a great brewery a few minutes drive away. Couldn’t ask for more. Eric was very responsive and accommodating. Would love to stay again!

  • Excellent setting! This place had plenty of firewood, a beautiful fireplace and the quiet and calm my wife and I were looking for as a getaway! Eric was great about communicating and we had everything we needed while staying here!

WATERFRONT LAKEHOUSE (swim, boat, fish) in a private setting directly on spring fed, crystal clear Lake Mattawa. Large, flat backyard with the tranquil sounds of a waterfall at the edge of the property. Recently renovated, open concept with a wood fireplace and pellet stove. The house is well designed and provides a beautiful setting for your vacation.
As you enter the house from the kitchen you immediately see the lake from across the room. It’s amazing how relaxed you feel the moment you walk in the house. There are hardwood floors throughout and wood beams in the ceiling that give it a rustic feel. Most of the house has been recently updated and has an open concept design. The internet works great and we have "YouTube TV" for live TV and Showtime. There is a DVD player in the finished basement and we have a bunch of movies you can use. We also have a few classic board games. There is an iPhone charger and a Bluetooth speaker. There are two new kayaks, a canoe and floats for your use. We have 3 adult life jackets and 2 kid size life jackets. Youth less than 12 must wear jackets while boating and from 9/15 through May 15 adults must wear them while in the boat. During the summer months adults don’t have to wear the jackets but they must have them in the boats. The house comes with a brown carport that fits 2 cars. In the months when there is no snow, you can park in the road next to the house.
This is a very quiet wooded area and the house sits on 1.25 acre. The view of the lake is great with a large, flat back yard that leads directly to the lake. There is a dirt road to get to the house. In the winter you will want to have an AWD vehicle in case there is snow (if no snow, you’ll be fine). Please refer to the pictures on the site to make sure you don’t miss the turn for the driveway. You’ll need a car to get to shopping, restaurants and local attractions. I recommend getting your groceries first so that you don’t have to go back out shopping. Boston = 76 Miles, Worcester = 40 Miles, Springfield= 41 Miles, Amherst = 21 Miles, Brattleboro VT 29 Miles
  • The views are incredible and the house was way better than expected. If you have time definitely go to the waterfall.

    Hannah2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the lake house during February and it was truly lovely. Very comfortable rooms and big house with an amazing view of the lake. It was cozy and relaxing. Thankfully, it wasn’t snowing those days so it was relatively easy to drive in and out of the garage. It might get a bit more complicated if it’s snowy/icy. Also, it must be a dream in the summer with that great porch, bbq, and backyard. It has a really good location if you’re trying to explore different places as well. We drove to Wachusset Ski park one day and another day we drove around and up to Brattleboro and New Hampshire. Would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

    Lillian2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with a lawn down to the water. Great swimming and canoe access. Home itself is very open concept that's great for conversation. Separate spaces for quiet time too. Immaculately kept inside and out. The combination of the great place and easy to connect with host can't be beat.

    Doug2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet place on the lake! Very clean with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay. Host always responded quickly. View is amazing. We will be using this place again if available.

  • Location is perfect - right on a quiet lake with great views from the back deck. Janice was quick with responses and offering tips before we got to the property, which made check-in super easy. Keeping it on the list for future getaway weekends.

    Russ2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house and entire process was great. Spotlessly clean and great location on the lake.

    Greg2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Janice's lakefront house is absolutely lovely. Everything was clean, and the house is large, newly renovated, and very pleasant. The space heated up quickly when we turned up the heat and there were plenty of blankets, important for a chilly January weekend! We loved the tranquil views of the mostly iced-over lake and the relaxing sound of some melted water flowing nearby. The kitchen also had everything we needed for some light cooking/reheating while at home. We truly didn't want to leave at the end of our short visit!

    Betsy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z

Quiet water front Lake house. A rustic retreat ideal for writers and nature lovers with water access and dock. Enjoy the the sunshine on the deck or the shade on the patio while you grill. Great blue herons, turtles and eagles are regular visitors. The house offers lots of space and is the perfect getaway. So secluded you'd never suspect it is less than a mile from route 2.
A gorgeous but not pristine house, a work in progress. Guests must be ok with quirky appliances, a few mice and deer heads on the walls. We ask that guests be mindful of water use and respectful of peace and quiet. Level changes and stairs. There is a bedroom with private bath upstairs and an air mattress and pullout couch downstairs with shared bath. No smoking on the property.
Very quiet, few year round houses. Less than ten minutes to town center and stores.
  • Everything was fantastic: the house was beautiful, comfortable, and well appointed. The location was relaxing. Karen and Frank were so unbelievably accommodative and hospitable. We had the most wonderful time this winter and will certainly be back in the summertime!

There's an excellent bakery at the end of the street, and the house is a short walk away from live music and theater the Shea Theater, bus stops, the Connecticut River, the bike trail, boating, world-class concrete skate park, shopping, great restaurants and night life, grocery store, banks, as well as being only half an hour away from the cultural centers of Northampton, Amherst, and Brattleboro, as well as scenic ares along the Mohawk Trail. Ten minutes from downtown Greenfield.
If you love a funky, creative and eclectic bohemian environment, you will love it here! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and bohemians of all ages. You'll have the privacy you need. The bedroom I am offering is called the Vintage Bower and features old records and memorabilia of that nature. If you need tips on the arts and music life in the Valley I have info for you. I prefer to meet guests before extending a booking longer than a week. If you have extenuating circumstances needing longer than one week, please contact me to explain your situation and we may be able to work out a special offer for your stay.
The Central Street neighborhood is very diverse. It is one block up on the Hill above the downtown. There are triple decker apartment buildings, single family homes of varying vintage from the 1870s to the 1930s, and a headstart preschool in an old school building. In this neighborhood are published authors and poets, experimental musicians, single mothers and children, business people, people with disabilities in group housing, artists, bikers, and all types of people. Generally this is a quiet street and people are friendly. It is very convenient to all of the town.
  • Great place. Super artsy, the cats are so great and friendly. SUPER GREAT VALUE, definitely would stay here again.

There's an excellent bakery at the end of the street, and it is a short walk to the Shea Theater, bus stops, the Ct. River, bike trail, shopping, world-class concrete skate park, great restaurants and night life, grocery store, bank. Half an hour to the cultural centers of Northampton, Amherst, and Brattleboro, as well as scenic areas along the Mohawk Trail. Ten minutes from Greenfield. If you love a funky, creative and eclectic bohemian environment, you will love it here!
This is an old house and full of art objects and colorful, funky style. It can be a bit drafty in winter. It has high ceilings and plaster walls, so will tend to be dustier than a modern house. Nevertheless, people find it very comfortable, and interesting, to visit here! As far as stays longer than one week, I prefer to meet you first before committing to such an arrangement, unless there are exceptional circumstances which we will work out together in advance. Please contact me with your request.
It is very convenient to all of the town, parks, river, bike path and the great new skate park with concrete bowl!

  • My stay at Trigger’s Cabin was exactly what I needed to get away for a few days! Super relaxing place to be, beautiful view of the pond and when looking in the journal of past visitors, I would have never guessed someone had visited the day before I arrived! Great place, even better hosts! Carol knows how to put a nice place together and keep it clean! Trigger the pup was such a good boy too! Absolutely would recommend to anyone!

    Robert2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • This space is an absolute gem if you're looking for a remote getaway. It's absolutely gorgeous and has some nice touches for a somewhat remote cabin. Carol is extremely kind and hospitable as well.

  • Triggers Cabin was even better than expected. I had a relaxing and peaceful stay. The fireplace was great for keeping warm at night!

    Zak2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were travelling with a dog and a small child, and this was the perfect dog and family friendly place to stay! The view is phenomenal, the house is cozy and has everything you might need, and the forest is blissful! Carol is just the way host, we were going to a wedding on Sunday, and she helped us out with an iron and ironing board, we were travelling from abroad, and didn’t have linens, there too she was sweetly forthcoming. We sat by the fire place, we allowed time to slow! Absolutely wonderful!

    Laima2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I loved our stay at triggers cabin. There’s nothing better than being able to wake up and walk right outside to go fishing. There are trails 5 minutes away and the restaurants Carol recommended were not bad! Our dogs also had a great time. Amazing experience and unbeatable price. Will definitely book again!

    Alexandra2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great peaceful cabin on the water. Good for relaxing and family getaways. You can't beat the price and Carol is always quick to respond and make sure you have everything you need. She even offered to let us use her car when construction was blocking the only road out. We didn't end up needing to but the fact that she offered was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay again.

  • Marie-Elena's place is located extremely conveniently on a main street. The photos don't do the suite justice - splashes of color add a modern touch to an "old house" feel. The rooms are really unique. The bed is extremely comfortable, and the table is a perfect place to hunker down with your laptop. There is some street noise, but overall the ambience was incredibly peaceful. Marie-Elena added thoughtful touches like a French press for coffee and homemade skin care products in addition to shampoo and bath wash. I definitely hope to return!

  • We are visiting the school nearby. The host, Letha, was super nice. We greeted us when we arrived, introduced us to the room, and exchanged enthusiastic information about the school with us. Her eldest son went to school in Kitanoyama and also offered her son to help share a lot. This landlord feels very warm! The interior of the room is well-equipped, comfortable, and tastefully furnished! If you have the opportunity to study nearby, then come often!

  • This was a perfect place for us to stay while we helped our daughter move into an apartment for grad school. Letha's place is ideally located within minutes to campus and our daughter's apartment. Letha offered to help us and our daughter with anything we needed . The apartment was clean, nicely arranged with beautiful flowering plants. She included unexpected amenities such as bottled water/coffee/fruit and bagels with cream cheese. A great way to start our day. We definitely plan on returning when we visit our daughter.

  • Letha is an amazing Hostess. I had previously stayed at an airbnb and felt a little out of place and awkward. Not at Letha's house! From the time I checked in I felt like part of the family. Her personal touches made me feel right at home and communicating with her was simple and I always received a fast response! The deal we received for the amount of space and privacy we had was incredible!! I highly recommend booking here during your next stay at an airbnb.

From the moment you arrive at this two-bedroom one-and-a-half bath lakeside cottage, you’ll feel how special it is, as it sits on the south shore of lovely Moores Pond, facing a spectacular view of Mt. Grace. Welcome to Corkscrew Cottage! Small private cottages line the thirty acres of clear water that afford swimming, fishing, boating (up to 10 hp), and kayaking. The signature spiral stairs connect the first floor full kitchen, living area, bedroom, and bath with the upstairs bedrooms and bath.
Use Corkscrew's swimming area and dock, or make new friends at the public Town Beach. Use Corkscrew's rowboat or launch your own boat at the public boat launch. Explore the large wetland on the north end on a summer evening, viewing the beaver lodges and carnivorous plants. Ice skate for miles in winter or go ice fishing. The pond has a variety of fish including trout, bass, pickerel, perch, and pan fish, and is also home to colorful waterfowl, turtles, frogs, otters, beaver, deer, and the occasional moose. Hike the Old Stagecoach Road through the state forest to the quaint, historic Warwick Town Center. Bike the scenic Franklin County roads. After sundown, the frog symphony begins at the Pond and the wide-open night sky delights any stargazer. Follow the brick walkway from your own driveway to the cottage door. Step into a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen that is flooded with warm tones of sunshine streaming through the stained glass Corkscrew window. The knotty pine walls and open ceilings continue into the living area, where you will notice a cozy gas stove fireplace, a media center, and the signature spiral staircase* that gives our cottage its name. You are drawn into the attached enclosed porch sitting area, with 180-degree views of the pond, where you can enjoy the ever-changing views of Mt. Grace. Take an afternoon nap on the couch. Read by the fireplace. Cool off under the porch ceiling fan or by the A/C unit. Gather around the game table. A porch door leads out to the deck, dock, and boat. Clean up in the full bathroom on the first floor. After a day on the lake or out exploring, sink into bed. The master bedroom is off the living area. Two bedroom areas are up the spiral staircase, with three single beds and a half bath. A large fold-out futon is on the porch, allowing for a total maximum of six overnight guests. Outdoor eating and lounging decks are on both sides of Corkscrew Cottage, including a gas grill near the kitchen. *Caution: Spiral staircases can be tricky. Always walk on the outside larger part of the tread, step slowly, and hold on to the rail. Please use caution if your family includes the elderly or very young.
The cottage is by no means secluded from other cottages, but the pond area is restful and quiet. Nearby Warwick Town Center has many events at the Town Hall. Old Home Days occur the last weekend in August, including the Corregatta (cardboard) Boat Race at the Town Beach, not to be missed! Other nearby towns have golf, events, restaurants, and services: Orange, Athol, Greenfield, Northfield, Bernardston, MA, Winchester and Keene NH, Brattleboro VT. It’s a tri-state area, ready to be explored. Browse Corkscrew's Airbnb Neighborhood Guidebook for more local tips!
  • This is our second stay at Corkscrew and we love the place! So quiet, so peaceful, so relaxing...Kelly and Claire go above and beyond as spectacular hosts! We will certainly return again!

  • We loved our stay at the cottage! Everything was exceptional and we recommend it to everyone! Claire and Kelly are really nice and helped us so much! The communication was perfect and we would love to come back. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

    Anne2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • They had everything we could possibly need! It was also fun watching the fish in the pond from the window! This was a great lay low kind of vacation for us but we clearly could have made it very active if we had wanted.

    Jennifer2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend a stay at Claire’s place. Beautiful location, a perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself. Personal touches very very much appreciated, made me feel right at home. The house was very well stocked with everything you would need and more. The hosts were accommodating, quick to respond, very pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again!!! check in and out were very clear and easy. We were even welcomed with a bottle of wine, an unexpected but very much appreciated gesture.

  • This is simply a great place to unwind and relax away from the hustle and bustle of life. Moore's Pond is serene, peaceful and crystal clear. Claire is a great host and we will return!

    Eric2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Corkscrew is the best place to go for a relaxing and fun vacation. This home was so clean and the kitchen was stocked with spices, and coffee and coco. I would deffinatley recommend this place to anyone. Me and my family want to come back every year. The best part was the owner lives right next door and their hospitality was great.

    Heidi2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our family stayed at the Corkscrew and had a very relaxing and fun time on Moore’s pond. The house has everything and anything you could possibly want/need/think of. The cohost, Kelly, came and introduced herself and the owner lives next door. If any problems arise, like locking yourselves out of the bathroom-happened to us-they will quickly come to your aid. We are a family of 5 and everyone fit comfortably. A rowboat and two kayaks, along with adult life jackets and children life jackets, are such a fun way to spend time. We fished off the dock and everyone caught multiple fish. The sunrise is especially beautiful from the windowed back room. We had a wonderful time at Corkscrew.

Perfect for the solo adventurer or business traveler, or a cozy space for two. At 250 sq ft including all storage, Tastefully Tiny makes maximum use of space. Custom cherry cabinets, bamboo floors, and a fold down ambrosia dinette are some of the special touches. Spanish tile floor and claw foot tub add to the charm of the bath. Futon folds down into a full sized bed for sleeping or doubles as a couch for reading or watching tv. Our price reflects that finishing touches are still ongoing.
Conveniently located between Keene, Peterborough, and Gardner, MA, we offer a rural location close to a numbered route. Abuts Cheshire Rail Trail, and close to many other local hikes. Mount Monadnock nearby. The apartment is within our old farmhouse. Squeaky floors, the occasional mouse, and other eccentricities are part of the charm. Because of proximity to numbered route there is road noise.
We live in a safe, usually quiet, and relaxed neighborhood. We know and get along with most neighbors within a mile of here. Folks generally wave as they drive by.

Enjoy this cozy, tucked away space in South Amherst, with easy access to the Five Colleges, shopping, interstate 91, route 116 and Route 9.
  • Carol and Erold provide a wonderful space that is clean, bright and comfortable. The beds and pillows are good quality and the appliances are all new and work well. There are plenty of plush towels, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, some cleaning supplies and quality soap (shower, bathroom sink and dish detergent). I particularly enjoyed that eco-friendly products were provided. Additionally, the shower has excellent pressure. Basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, teas, some condiments, cooking oil, etc were also available, which was a very nice touch. The communication was easy and fast and Carol made sure to check on how the stay was going after we got settled (through Airbnb website). The location was absolutely perfect too. It was a 7 minute drive into Amherst centre but far enough away to be nice a quite. I would highly recommend a stay at the Bailey’s Apartment.

  • Nice location!

    Mia2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The place of Carol and Erold is even better than we can see in the pictures! Everything was clean, organised and working. I spent 7 days with my husband and baby and we felt very comfortable. We do recommend the place!

  • Look no further...Carol and Erold's place is a great home away from home. The location is located with quick access to Amherst, Northampton, and South Hadley (all within a 10-15 minute drive). The peacefulness, quiet, and amenities were perfect for a weeklong getaway in Western MA. Their airbnb has a full kitchen, great bathroom, two rooms, and a living room space. It was a great stay and I'd definitely return when/if I'm in the area again.

A two level loft apartment walking distance to Shelburne Falls. Private, simple, unique, cute, and efficient. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet with the notable exception of a nearby train intersection. 4-6 times in a given 24 hour period there'll be a loud train whistle. Please see Covid-19 update in "Other things to note..."
This space is most comfortable for one or two people. There is a spare bed which I will set up upon request so that a third person may be added. The Apartment has an open ceiling in the kitchen area and a winding stair leading to the living and sleeping area. The upstairs has three different levels: one exiting to the back deck, one a reading area, and the third level is the television area. (In the event that the memory foam mattress needs to be set up it will be in the TV area of the apartment.) The Queen size bed is on the floor but from the 1st level height it will feel like a normal height bed. Ceilings are low on the 2nd floor...watch your head... Kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, etc.... There are some basic food items like olive oil, butter, eggs, 1/2 and 1/2, tea, coffee, cereal/oatmeal, and so on. On the back deck you'll find a small grille and in the tree line I have steel fire ring for an evening fire (wood provided).
Shelburne Falls is a quaint town. There are several restaurants in town and easy access to museums, hiking, mountain biking, etc... There is a laundromat about a 5 minute drive from here and a natural food store the same distance (4 minute drive).
  • We had a wonderful time at Justin’s place. We just stayed for the night, but would’ve loved to stay longer. The place is super cozy and cute, close to all the whole spots in town. Justin also provides quite a few food staples which is very generous we made a nice breakfast, and he gave some great advice. good hikes in the area!

    Kim2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I planned a two week snowboarding trip. This was our second stop, and we stayed one night. As home renovators, we loved the design and thoughtful features throughout this little apartment. Nice glassware, an assortment of teas, and coffee are available. The host was quick to respond to my messages. The only negative I would say is the incredibly tiny bathroom sink that was virtually unusable. We used the kitchen sink to brush our teeth and perform our facial hygiene. Also, there is not a washer and dryer present within the apartment (just an FYI).

    Cat2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Terrific overnight stay at Justin's place. Snug, clean, and simple. A perfect spot from which to launch our ski day.

  • Such an amazing place to stay!

    Joshua2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very cute. I chose it because I liked the loft and it was exactly what I expected it to be. There was local/organic food in the kitchen area, which was a very thoughtful touch. Justin has snowshoes outside which we did not use but I thought was a cute idea. It is walkable to the downtown area. I would return here for another trip.

    Emily2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. Justin truly thought of everything: from food and coffee in the kitchen to extra blankets and pillows in the bedroom. Super cozy, comfy place. Thanks Justin!

This walkout basement is newly renovated with a bathroom and a kitchen with brand new appliances. You also have access to an outdoor barbecue right outside the unit and a fenced backyard. Our house has access to a private lake nearby as well. Conveniently located near Cushing Academy, Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, Wachusett Brewery, Watatic Mountain. Minutes to the grocery store, tavern, and pizza places downtown. We love our house and hope you enjoy it as much as we do :)
All the photos shown inside the unit are private to the guests. The kitchen allows guests to enjoy meals home away from home, or the guest can use the outdoor barbecue when the weather gets nice. Our house is a colonial with two adults and a dog living on the top two floors. We also have bunnies and chickens who live outside.
This is a quiet residential neighborhood. All our neighbors are friendly and helpful. There is a private lake about 5 mins walk from us.
  • The backyard animals are entertaining and quiet, as I always had a good sleep! The kitchen has a full refrigerator, and there's a functioning modern hot-plate for home-cooked meals. The kitchen counter is set up for a couple at the island, and there is a dining table for 2 next to it. There are LOTS of storage areas for large luggage in the benches on either side of the fireplace and under the staircase. The fireplace acts as a room heater and has a non-fire light display in the face of the unit. It was quite suitable and kept me warm when the evenings became cool. The air conditioning worked just fine. A very comfortable place to stay.

A super creative house. Clean, comfy warm bed and shower. Great breakfast suggestion at the local co-op and an art exhibit at a local museum. Short and easy drive to Northampton where we love walking around and getting tea. Will definitely plan to stay there again the next time we are heading up north.

The house is situated on the Saw Mill river. It is surrounded by woods. We are ten minutes from Umass Amherst and ten minutes from Greenfield. The Montigue BookMill is a great place to have coffee. The Robert Frost trail is up behind the property as well as two major State parks. We are on the National Historic Byway.
  • Being our very first experience with Airbnb we weren't sure what to expect from any rental we choose. Elaine's accommodations and laid back hospitality exceeded our expectations and made the whole experience positive. The room and half bath were sparkling clean and private, the bed very comfy, the location and setting peaceful and a perfect location for our purposes. The Montague area is one of the best locales Western MA has to offer - out in the country yet convenient to all surrpunding hotspots. Would highly recommend and certainly return. Be sure to visit the Montague Book Mill (which is right around the corner) !

  • Elaine was great! She communicated everything clearly and was there if we had any questions. The place was in a nice, quiet location near the Montague Book Mill and the space itself was very private. Would highly recommend!

  • Elaine is a very sweet host. The place was clean and beautiful. It’s better to get there earlier in the day as it’s a bit tucked away and hard to see in the dark. But the house and room are great and Elaine was very welcoming.

  • Elaine’s place was great. We spent just one night there with our six month old daughter, but Elaine was friendly, welcoming and attentive. She fosters community between the guests and we shared a nice breakfast with a family from Germany. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area. Be sure to check out the Book Mill nearby.

  • Was in the area to visit a school this weekend with my son. Elaine’s place was an excellent choice. Perfect location. Big (a lot more than just “a room in a house”). We stayed in a basement room - almost a bachelor suite! Super clean. Comfy beds. Beautiful property. We would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the large rural property. And I’d definitely stay there again when we’re back in the area. I highly recommend it. Really - book it quick - before its unavailable. Thank you Elaine! Merci... Jon

  • Very lovely home in a great location. The room is as described, clean and comfortable. It is in a shared home but still feels very private. However, there were no instructions or information regarding the kitchen so even though it's listed as a shared kitchen I did not feel comfortable to use anything. Would recommend and would return!

    Ally2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent stay at Elaine’s place! I didn’t expect it to be as private and comfortable as it was. And her quick responses to my questions was very much appreciated. The house was in a perfect location for a wedding I was attending at the Montague Retreat Center, which was only 1.4 miles away. Would love to stay again!

  • James is an incredible host. We stayed here last year to check out the local winter festival. Incredible place, so clean, awesome location. We had planned to come back this year but the kids and my wife all got the flu. He was so understanding. Such a nice person! We plan to come back every year, and we are so sad to have missed this one.

  • James's place was perfect for my family of 4 plus 2 dogs. We stayed for 4 nights in January. Each of my girls claimed their own bedroom upon arrival and enjoyed their space to chill out after skiing at Berkshire East each day. The spacious apartment was renovated beautifully but they kept the historic features like the exposed brick wall leading to the top floor. Lot's of whimsical art and antiques make this apartment feel like home. Our dogs were able to come and were right at home. We enjoyed walking them up the hill to see the beautiful Victorian homes in the High St. neighborhood. James suggested The Rendezvous and it was the perfect family restaurant right down the street. My husband and I enjoyed trying several of the local small craft brewery beers which were available at the grocery and convenience stores. We didn't have much time to check out Turners Falls but we plan on going back to explore and can't imagine staying anywhere else:)

Our older, well loved home is centrally located a short walk from downtown Greenfield. It is the perfect spot to stay on your trip through the Berkshires as we are less than 5 minutes off of I 91 and route 2. We are 7 minutes from local boarding schools, and 25 minutes from the 5 colleges in Amherst and Northampton. Restaurants, great views, music, and family-friendly activities are nearby. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
A clean, private, and charming 2 bedroom apartment with large windows for a picturesque tree top view. It is spacious and has lots of light. The apartment has a private entrance via exterior stairs. Please note it is on the 3rd floor. We happily keep it stocked with breakfast items, coffee, tea, and fruit.
Our location is great because we are in a family friendly and outdoor adventure hub. We have the convenience of in town living, such as a 24 hour CVS, and laundromat around the corner. We have great local restaurants, a movie theatre, canoeing, and a brand new skate park, all within a 15 minute radius!
  • Fantastic place. Super cozy living room with so much sunlight. Very clean with all of the nice extra touches like coffee, tea, and fresh orange juice in the fridge.

  • This was our second time staying at Sarah’s over Thanksgiving weekend with family in Greenfield. We love this place, but especially Sarah who works hard and is so kind. The apartment is warm and welcoming, with everything you could want. We especially appreciate the lovely retro pink and black bathroom with tons of useful supplies, and a well-stocked kitchen. The apartment has a separate, private entrance up several outdoor staircases, so older folks or those who have trouble with stairs might be challenged.

  • Very cute apartment. I'd live there myself! Close to the main st. My friend and I stayed there for one night and were very comfortable. I would stay again.

Welcome to our bright, newly renovated suite in the historic Elihu Smith home, built in 1847. Centered on historic South Main Street in Sunderland, we are minutes from UMass, Amherst, Hadley, Deerfield, and located on the local bus route connecting directly to UMass and Amherst. Ideal for stays of any length of time, for business or pleasure during any time of the year. Walking distance to the Millstone market, as well the Bridgeside Café.
Private three-room, 2nd floor suite, consists of bedroom, dining room and bathroom.
Historic neighborhood lined with large-canopy maple and sycamore trees, moments from the "widest tree east of the Mississippi", Sunderland's Buttonball Tree. Moments from Mount Toby walking trails.
  • I loved my weekend stay at at Susan and Mitch's place. Although we didn't meet, I was in contact with Mitch before, during, and after my stay. I found their place clean, quiet, and more spacious than I had anticipated. My flat was nicely renovated, while preserving the feel of the 19th-century house. I slept great on the large and comfortable bed, took nice warm showers, and appreciated the granola and english muffins they left me. Main Street is a quiet, but large, street with many beautiful old homes. Travel by bus to Amherst on the weekend is infrequent but definitely possible from a stop just up the street. In addition, with patience, I was able to get car service to and from Sunderland. I really enjoyed my stay and I truly hope I return. Thanks for the great place!

  • We really enjoyed our weekend stay. Mitch and Susie are super friendly, there’s a comfy bed, and great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again as we’re in the area a lot.

  • Wonderful stay at Susan’s cozy house. The house has contemporary design, which appear simple but with a sophisticated touch. Love the atmosphere. The room is flawlessly clean. Breakfast of fresh eggs from their home grown chicken is very tasty. The kids and dog are adorable together. (Friendliest German shepherd I have seen! ) Definitely recommend people to come stay here!!! 😊

  • We had a great time at Susan’s! The space was absolutely beautiful and sparkling clean. She was incredible responsive to questions and even provided us with breakfast materials for the weekend. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone! Thank you so much!

  • A slice of heaven in Sunderland. My wife and I had a memorable stay with Susan and Mitch in their beautiful home. The guest suite was perfection and breakfast was absolutely scrumptious! We look forward to staying with them again the next time we visit the valley.
