Buddhist Temple
“Located in the historic district of Chinatown, the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum’s richly designed interiors and comprehensive exhibits on Buddhist art and history tell stories of culture over thousands of years old. Built in 2007, the temple gets its name from what the Buddhists regard as the left canine tooth of Buddha, which has been recovered from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India and displayed on the temple’s grounds. ”

“Past the friendly door-keeps, you’re greeted by a surly, a mind reader or fortune teller (don’t ask) before you go through velvet curtains into a Moulin-Rouge-esque carnival of raucous chatter. Sip on one of the bar’s superb classic Manhattans as you scoot over to your table and sit down to a supper of the joint’s famous Bone Marrow Poppers and Hand Cut Steak Tartare. “World’s Best Cocktail Bar”, well trained bar-team, led by veteran bartender Steve Schneider, which turns out classic cocktails and new signatures made from a hefty selection of boutique spirits, Vibrant spot full of energy with amazing Crowd! “A household name for savoury cafe classics, the Ann Siang outlet offers a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding areas. Its food is reliable European fusion fare – which has since earned the chain a rep as a go-to place for long brunches, romantic dates and group celebrations. Desserts here have a cult following – grab a friend or two and dig into the enormous Double Chocolate blackout cake or the Sticky Date Pudding.”

“I run a coffee stall there, at number 1-33. Chris, the barista, makes probably the best flat white in town! Try the chicken rice, ramen and yong tau foo. Chris will give you the best recommendations as she knows everyone in the market. ”

Cocktail Bar

“This place is a little controversial. They make all of their own alcohol, so expect something a little different. It regularly is placed in the lists of the best bars in the world - not your ordinary bar but definitely worth trying. Also, it is a speakeasy so very difficult to find ... If you are standing next to Oxwell & Co you are in the right spot but you have to find the random graffiti and descend into the basement (if you are having trouble just ask at Oxwell & Co)”

“It’s your very own Parisian breakfast… in Singapore. Think freshly baked, buttery pastries, eggs in different ways, homemade jam, and a decadent croque monsieur that you won’t be able to pass up. The ambience will make you want to visit – the food will get you to return.”

“Nice Japanese restaurant. Simple but the quality is good. This would be considered the mid range level of Japanese sushi.”
