“Hiking, Snorkeling, Diving, Swimming, Beachcombing... just enjoying the beaches and scenery of the Caribbean is incredible! From Trunk Bay, voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world... to Hansen Beach on the East End, you will love every minute!”

“Trunk Bay is the most iconic of St John's beaches - but also the most traveled. You'll find amenities like food, showers and snorkel rentals here.”

“Pristine beach with sugary, white sand and a great snorkeling trail. A day trip to St. John is a MUST! Just a 20 minute ride on passenger or car ferry from American Yacht Harbor.”

“This is a perennial fave. Maho is a beautiful beach right next to the road (so no hiking in). The snorkeling here isn’t that great EXCEPT it is an EXCELLENT place to see sea turtles. No, really. There is an extremely good chance you’ll see them. Make sure to talk to other snorkelers/swimmers. They are usually more than happy to point out turtles. Also, someone recently opened a space with a bar and some food and tons of hammocks and couches to chill on. It’s called Maho Crossroads. It’s one of the few non-National Park operations. There are also some picnic tables and National Park porta-potties at the far end of the beach. ”

“Want to experience the US Virgin Islands but don't want to spend all of your time underwater? This small-group snorkeling cruise, limited to only six guests, visits the beautiful bays of St John’s north coast — including free time on land at Cruz Bay to stroll the colorful streets. This fun, relaxing tour takes you by comfy power catamaran to Waterlemon Cay, Maho Bay and Whistling Cay, which all lie along the shoreline of Virgin Islands National Park. You'll snorkel with tropical fish and sea turtles before puling into the main village on St John for an hour or two ashore.”

“Hike the short trail (.1 mile) up to the old sugar mill tower and enjoy the ocean views of St. Thomas, Jost Van Dyke, and other smaller islands. On Wednesday nights get up there just before dark and take in the night sky through the local astronomy club telescope. ”

“This is probably the most famous beach on STJ. It also has the most services (snack bar, regular bar, showers, real bathrooms, snorkel rental). It can get pretty busy but you should probably check it out anyway. It really is beautiful. And accessible. Has a National Park snorkeling trail. There is no hiking involved. ”
