Designed with luxury & pampering in mind. You can enjoy wonderful views, through the trees, of the Long Mynd & Church Stretton. It's this mix of seclusion yet close proximity to local amenities that really sets us apart. Search for Oaks Lodge in Shropshire on Trip Advisor and read the wonderful reviews left by our guests. PLEASE NOTE: Our prices are higher on Airbnb due to the Extenuating Circumstances Policy, feel free to chose the booking platform that best suits your requirements.
For more guest opinions about Oaks Lodge please take a look at all our reviews on Trip Advisor. Please call or text - O seventy-seven eighty-two, then 25, 92 and thirty-one - or 'Contact the Owner' and Sara will happily discuss your requirements. Welcome to Oaks Lodge, your luxury lodge nestled in a 1/3 acre woodland dingle beneath a canopy of oak trees. Unwind in your Jacuzzi spa, surrounded by the natural beauty of mature oaks and the lodge's modern western red cedar cladding, whilst listening to the soothing background trickle of the stream as it meanders beneath you. Sit back and relax with an evening drink on the composite decking, warmed by the Burda electric heater, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and often squirrels chasing each other around the branches of the oak trees. Oaks Lodge is accessed from a dedicated parking area by a gravel path (approximately 80m long) located along the lower level of the owners' secluded, tiered garden. As you walk along the pathway, lit by floor level LEDs, through carefully chosen shrubs and planted slopes and pass through a gateway of two magnificent oak trees, you gain your first glimpse of the lodge; the elevated balcony and front windows with the stream below flowing gently from the waterfall behind (except in periods of low rainfall). It's a truly unique and magical space and yet only a short walk into the middle of Church Stretton town with its eateries, independent specialist shops and attractions. After a day's activities you can Retreat into your personal haven and relax. Oaks Lodge has been designed with luxury and pampering in mind, yet is offered with a realistic price tag. We want you to enjoy your stay with us, whether you are planning a romantic getaway or mini-moon, an activity break or simply some time to yourselves. From your elevated private balcony and hot tub, you can enjoy wonderful views, through the trees, of the Long Mynd and areas of the town. It's hard to believe that Oaks Lodge is only five minutes' walk away from the train station and a few minutes more into the centre of Church Stretton. It's this mix of seclusion yet close proximity to local amenities that really sets Oaks Lodge apart. We believe the little things make the biggest memories. Inside, we have striven to provide everything you might expect from a luxurious getaway: underfloor heating, a cosy flame-effect fire, a fully-equipped kitchen, powerful rain shower, super king bed and outdoor Hot Tub are just some of the touches that we believe will make your stay extra special. As we are a small, family run enterprise, we are always on hand to give you advice, if wanted and help, when needed. Our goal is to ensure that you have an unforgettable time at Oaks Lodge. We have recently partnered with MyPersonalSanctuary where you can book spa treatments to be taken at Oaks Lodge to make your stay even more special so please take a look. Town is a little walk away with some lovely places to eat and drink. Sara recommended a number of good places to visit. Perched on the hillside, Larches Lodge has fantastic views over the picturesque town of Church Stretton, often nicknamed “Little Switzerland", and is the only market town to be found in South Shropshire's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The train station is a five minute walk away and can take you to the centre of medieval Shrewsbury or the historic market town of Ludlow in under 15 minutes - it is on the mainline from Cardiff to Manchester. Also within easy reach are notable sights such as the museums of Ironbridge, Stokesay Castle, Offa's Dyke, Weston Park and Buildwas Abbey to name but a few of what Shropshire has to offer. Larches Lodge is dwarfed by the glorious backdrop of the Long Mynd, Caradoc and Carding Mill Valley all but a stones throw away. You are spoilt by many beautiful and scenic walks to suit both the less energetic and more experienced hill walkers. You will not be disappointed. Church Stretton is an historic market town set in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town just hums with happiness. It is not unusual for total strangers to say hello and stop of a chat with you in the street - something that does not happen enough in this day and age!
  • This is truly the most perfect place for a little couples retreat! The cabin was so cute and cosy, the hot tub and the little fire place really made it for me and my partner. I am recommending this place to everyone I know who wants to have a little relaxing break! Also, the host was really lovely. So welcoming and made us feel extremely comfortable. Its very close to the main house but it really feels like you are in your own little world here! Would book again x

  • Larches Lodge is absolutely stunning - beautifully designed and built wood cabin with a little cosy wood burner. The hot tub is phenomenal after a day of hiking and there are tons of great pubs nearby. Sara went above and beyond for myself and my friend and we had the most wonderful time. One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed in.

Hot tub and log burner were the perfect edition. Sara was a great host responding to my messages instantly and offering us any advise we needed. Thanks for a great little Christmas trip

Beautiful Surroundings set on a tranquil lake, near to the Shropshire Hills with plenty of walks including 'The Times' number one walk for the 2018 New Year being from Picklescott which is just 2 miles up the lane, search 'The Times 20 Great walks for the new year' on the internet
With beautiful surroundings and set on a tranquil lake our log cabin has 1 large bedroom with a separate bathroom and an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Lounge area. Plenty of space outside with it's private parking and wrap around veranda to enjoy the views of the lakes from! It has been beautifully decorated and furnished by a local interior designer to a high standard. There is cake, tea, coffee, milk and sugar waiting for you on your arrival .

  • We had an amazing time at the lake house! You can not see and appreciate the beauty of the property and the location until you get there. There is not even one thing we can complain about our weekend vacation. Lynne was amazing, she welcomed us at the property, navigated us and also lest us coffee/milk and fresh cake! I can't describe how clean was the property! Spotless! If you want a beautiful house on the lake, that is your place! Very quiet and relaxing place to be. Waking up in the morning all you hear is birds singing, and having your coffee outside watching the birds/ducks was just the best! Only an hour away from us, which would make this place our weekend holiday home from now on! Thank you again for the great hospitality. Martin

    Johnson2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay - you feel immediately calm. It's clean and spacious and well decorated. You feel isolated and like you're away from all the stress of the world. There's a real sense of homeliness and even though it's very much in the English countryside, you feel like you're on holiday abroad. The lake is beautiful and it was so nice watching the birds. Lynne left us tea and cake which was very tasty, and there is bath soak for a relaxing bath (may or may not have spent 3 hours in there). The bed is a big cosy cloud. We were desperate to stay another night and can't wait to come back!

    Albany2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The whole process of booking to stay was smooth. Lynne was very good at answering queries no matter how small they were. The location is fantastic and it is so private. The lake house itself was lovely and clean with all amenities you will need. We will be coming back again soon.

    Craig2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do the lake house justice it was beautiful, the cake was a lovely touch, and we had a wonderful stay despite the bad weather thank you :) x

Ruth's Retreat is an authentic Scandinavian Log Cabin in a beautiful spot surrounded by the South Shropshire countryside and you have your own private hot tub. The cabin has a large kitchen with deep freeze, fridge, washing machine, cooker and hob, dishwasher and all the equipment required. There are two bedrooms, one with views of the hills, the other with a garden view. Smart TV, Blu ray player and free Wifi. Central heating.
There is a garden area and decking area with hot tub and a covered barbecue all very private and fenced off.
The Log cabin is situated in a quiet location overlooking the Shropshire Hills and countryside. It is a 5 minute drive from the A49 where there is access to shops and amenities . There are also local stores in the closer vicinity. I do have two take-a-ways that deliver here. We are situated on the Shropshire Way and Lyth Hill, a local landmark is good for walking.
  • We absolutely loved Ruth’s retreat. It’s even more beautiful than the photos and the hot tub was gorgeous. Ruth is a real sweetie and we loved every minute! Thank you Ruth!

  • Unique little Airbnb located in a perfect location for exploring the shropshire hills - would recommend walking up to pole bank and the waterfall, beautiful views! The hut itself is cute, idyllic and extremely cost. It has everything you need for a weekend away and the bed is so comfy (like sleeping on a cloud)! Caroline is an amazing and lovely host who goes over and beyond to ensure her guests are happy - thanks for everything! If I could give shepherds hut more than 5 stars I would, would definitely recommend to anyone staying in church Stretton!

    Ben2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, well equipt shepherds hut. Everything was very clean and Caroline and Tim were very welcoming.

  • The Shepards Hut is a little hidden gem. Lovely location about 10 minute stroll from the centre of Church Stretton and a stone's throw from lots of local walking routes. The panoramic views of the Long Mynd are fantastic. The space itself is really stylish and has everything you'd need for for a short to medium length stay. Bed is super comfy and the little window at the end of the bed is a fantastic way to wake up. Caroline was a great communicator and gave us loads of hopeful tips for local restaurants when we arrived. Would highly recommend.

  • Perfect cosy shepherds hut to stay in for a walking break. Lovely and warm along with lots of thoughtful touches in the hut. Bed very comfy and having a stable door allowed you to see the lovely views of the hills and then🌟 stars at night. Caroline was a lovely host and gave us lots of information about eating out in Church Stretton all within walking distance.

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location with incredible views over the Shropshire Hills. Secluded position up a private lane with parking. Good central base for the local festivals or just walking in the Hills. Situated on the Shropshire Way (Jack Mytton Way) atop Wenlock Edge in an AONB not far from Church Stretton, Ludlow, Much Wenlock & Shrewsbury, it's an ideal base for exploring this beautiful county. Surrounded by SSSI fields full of wild orchids and other rare plants and flowers.
Situated on the Shropshire Way atop Wenlock Edge in an AONB up a private lane, the cottage is warm and welcoming, comfortably furnished and has a real home from home feel. It is an ideal location to base yourself or rest for a while whilst walking in the beautiful Shropshire Hills, or to use as a tranquil place to relax after work. The nearest house is quite a distance away so it is very quiet indeed, and it is surrounded by protected wild flower meadows. There is a large garden which you are welcome to use with stunning views over the countryside. The accommodation is a single room, comprising single real bed with comfortable mattress and underbed space, chair, rail for clothes, and bedside cabinet for extra storage. Peaceful remote area away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life. Ideal for relaxing as it is very quiet with no light-spill at night.

  • Peter's cottage is in a quiet and beautiful spot outside of Church Stretton. There are plenty of places to go walking and also lots of small villages to visit. Peter was welcoming and always friendly and even offered me lifts into town as i wasn't driving. The room was cosy and comfortable and you could help yourself to breakfast every morning. It's a great place for some quiet contemplation with beautiful views.

  • Me and my friends really loved Tom's cottage, an ideal space / size for a cozy weekend away with a partner of a few friends, we had some lovely evenings playing board games by the fire and cooking together. The cottage had everything that we needed, it's stylish, comfortable and is in a lovely area. We didn't had much opportunity to use the outside space due to bad weather but we had a lovely trip, enjoyed some short walk (due to the wind and rain), local pub visits and trips to nearby villages. The Bottle and Glass is a lovely pub, and the staff are very friendly. Tom was helpful through and we would love to stay again. A lovely pretty, quiet spot for relaxing few days in the countryside.

  • Gorgeous place in idyllic location! Beautifully fitted out and kept, perfect for a “get away from it all” holiday with all creature comforts! Everything works very well, even the brilliant rain-showers, what a treat ( no temperature variation, no sudden drop of water pressure) ! We stayed over Christmas, the place was warm and cosy. Very stylish and beautiful without being too precious, just right. Excellent wood burner, plenty of logs. Lovely little terrace and firebowl, nice gardens, we imagined it being superb in summer. The Shropshire Hills and especially the area around Nest are very beautiful, plenty to do and see. NT’s Carding Mill Valley is vey close and perfect for walk and tea/cake after.

  • Situated in a quiet village, this is somewhere you can guarantee a peaceful night's sleep. Ample off road parking and an attractive courtyard garden welcome you to the annex, part of a barn conversion that is rustic and very well presented. I was met at the door and shown round and given a key. The annex itself is small and cosy and perfectly adequate for 1 or 2 people. The kitchen has all the basic equipment for cooking meals, and no complaints with the TV or WiFi. Upstairs the bed is firm and comfortable, the room is cosy and very pleasant. Communications were great and Jill was very friendly.

The bed was super comfortable, the huge bath was to die for! A long soak ensued! We also had a separate shower room at our disposal. Beautifully clean with lots of thoughtful touches, teas, coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, places of interest, everything was.provided for. Added to this the pub across the road does a mean roast dinner too! Highly recommended for a lovely luxury stay at a very affordable price, I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a lovely open-plan upside-down house really close to the pretty town centre. We have great views of the Long Mynd, and other challenging hikes are close to the doorstep. The neighbours are friendly (my Dad Norm lives next door and my brother Mike is 3 doors down) and can show you both the best biking and hiking, and the nicest bars and restaurants. Upstairs is at road level with ample parking, lounge, kitchen and shower room, a bed and balcony, so is suitable for the less able.
We have storage areas for bikes and drying clothes. If you would like a walk leader that can be arrange. In fact just ask and we'll do our best to provide.
Church Stretton has a number of antique shops, cafes and cosy pubs. We are close to the train station (Cardiff to Manchester) and 12 miles from Medieval Shrewsbury. We have Walking Festivals, Music Festivals and Arts Festivals throughout the year.

Location, location, location. It’s not that the Pottery holiday cottage isn’t lovely (our guests are very complimentary). It’s just that we know that the main reason so many guests return to the Pottery is simply because of where it is. The Pottery nestles next to the Longmynd, a 6,000 acre area of National Trust moorland. An area of outstanding natural beauty, the scenery and views are stunning. And you're just 5 minutes drive from the supermarket and amenities of Church Stretton.
  • The Pottery is ideal for access into the local Shropshire hills, is well appointed and comfortable.

    Grace2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, spacious and very clean. Mary was communicative without being intrusive, we had everything we needed and were even allowed to play in the treehouse. Simply lush.

    Aisling2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at The Pottery. We always enjoy the location - secluded, but close to the hills of Long Mynd - and the relative proximity to Church Stretton. Despite being up a rough track and adjacent to the hills there are good facilities, with phone data, TV and internet all available. There are full cooking facilities. Last year we did a roast Christmas dinner but this time had more modest meals. The place was kept toasty with a combination of central heating and a log burner. We would happily return again.

  • Ideal place for us. It was away from all the hustle and bustle, but still close enough to local amenities that we could walk to a shop or pub. The place itself had everything we needed, cooking facilities, lovely shower and central heating at whatever our desired temperature was... which is great when you have been out in the cold all day... We had a great stay here. Thanks for making us so welcome, Miles. Take care. Wayne

  • Miles and Andy are the perfect hosts. Both exceptionally friendly and helpful, and their accommodation is lovely. It was exactly what we were looking for. In fact we could have quite happily stayed here for a week or more. It was very clean, well presented and homely. The space itself is huge too - feels like you have a whole semi detached house to yourself! We highly recommend it!

  • Very highly recommended, very spacious townhouse-like annex on two floors. Delightful villages surrounding this location, with points of interest nearby as well as a little further afield, to vary time spent there. We enjoyed the stylish aspects to this immaculately clean space, as well as the comfort available to rest, spread out in the amazingly sized living area, or sitting on the sofa in the upstairs bedroom. Lovely thoughtful hosts answered all our queries straight away. Not least, great off-street parking.

The Hayloft is situated in the grounds of the stunning Rushbury Manor an Elizabethan house in the heart of the South Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Hayloft is an oak framed barn beautifully furnished and has views across Ape Dale towards the Long Mynd.
Relax and unwind under the hand crafted, traditionally build cruck oak frame and escape from it all or if you prefer cycling, country walks or more challenging hikes are all possible straight from the door. Take in the spectacular views of the Shropshire Hills from the secluded garden or venture out to try the abundance of local food and real ales or just walk the 1/2 mile to our local pub.
The location lends itself to exploring the local area by foot, bike or car; we have lived in the area for a long time and are happy to help you make the most of your stay. We can help you with walking routes, places to visit such as Ironbridge, local restaurants, places to cycle; off road or on quite country lanes. The South Shropshire hills are on the border between England and Wales, it is a perfect place for a quick retreat away from busy life. If you like history, food or outdoor activities the local area has got it in spades; the many castles and other fortifications (including one just over the road from the Hayloft) tell the tale of border conflicts. Shropshire was the birth place of Darwin, the modern Olympic games and the industrial revolution which has been carefully preserved at the Ironbridge museums, only a few miles away however it is almost as if it never happened. You are not far from great restaurants and places to go out, in particular Ludlow is renowned for its food and festivals and has two restaurants with Michelin stars.
  • Perfect place for a weekend in Shropshire. Nice and clean with everything you need

    Louise2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The hayloft was airy, clean and homely. I stayed here while at a business conference in Telford 30 mins away. It had everything I needed. Many thanks to Simon and Kara for quick responses and for welcoming me into your lovely space.

  • The Hayloft is a wonderfully relaxing space in a quiet and beautiful location. Everything that you could need is provided by the hosts who also provide valuable information on the surrounding areas and who are brilliant to communicate with whenever you need to. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in stylish and comfortable accommodation.

    Nia2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Hayloft for three nights (18 -20 Oct 2019). We found the place easily on the edge of the village and our host, Simon, met us to show us around this self contained converted barn. The accommodation is stylish, warm, cosy and inviting and had all the amenities we could want for our short break. It was a pleasure to come back to each evening after our adventures around this delightful part of the Country. Plenty to see and do. Highly recommended stay.

There is a heater, lights and electrical sockets in the pod! There is a separate toilet block with Male and Female showers that run off 20p’s and toilets any other questions please feel free to ask. Perfect location for exploring the very popular Long mynd as the market town of Church Stretton is a 4 minute drive away.

  • Do read what is said in the description. Like camping you will need to take bedding, cooking equipment, camp chair etc. We took a blow up double mattress and double sleeping bag which worked well. There was a 4G mobile signal on EE which was a bonus.

  • Lovely little pod ideal for a night or two away. Sparkly clean toilets and shower area with the added bonus of some excellent security features. The site is within minutes of Church Stretton which is perfect for many walks, food and drinks. The host Ben couldn’t be faulted. Quick responses to questions and also let us check in early. I’d highly recommend staying here. We will be back :)

  • After spending some time trying to find a little quiet night away from the hustle and bustle, we found this little pod and decided to give it a shot and I'm certainly glad we did! Located in pretty much the middle of nowhere, quiet is an understatement. Had a lovely relaxing night, a short 15 minute walk to the nearest pub and the gorgeous carding mill valley is only a short drive away. Could not be happier with our stay. Absolutely perfect.

Birmingham is just an hour away and when the M6 flows, Manchester an hour and a half. Situated on the Welsh border, the Shropshire Marches offers beautiful walks over the Shropshire Hills, including Stiperstones and Long Mynd ' most with a pub along the way! The farm itself is one with the most activities available. You'll meet cattle, horses and Kerry Hill sheep on the Farm Tour, then see pheasant plus any of 70 fallow or red deer on a home-gown nature safari. The real star of this Feather Down farm is nature itself, the environment enhanced over a decade now, in the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme. Join for a wildlife walk to explore old hay meadows, the bluebell woods in spring, sunflowers in summer and scented wild garlic, as well as to spot a whole host of birds. The orchard and garden pool are overlooked by the delightfully rustic wainhouse barn built with the farm's own oak, ash and alder. It houses the showers and Farm Larder, which - by season - stocks the farm's own delectable venison, pigeon, pheasant and duck, as well as Kevan's ready-cooked meals. Both the barn, and the new summer house overlooking the hot tub and lake, make perfect venues for big social gatherings and feasts. Also new for 2015 is the farm coach (seating 16). Book with picnic to explore those Shropshire Hills and pubs on your Shropshire glamping farm holiday! Also bookable as extras: fly fishing lessons (equipment provided); pony craft and grooming, all about looking after a pony; arts & crafts sessions; and the hot tub, water trampoline, lake boating and wild swim water package. Beyond the farm are the Medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Unfortunately, pets can't come too as the farm is home to many birds. Please note: there is no electricity in this location

Pontesbury is a lovely village - small but with several takeaway and eat in restaurants, shops, chemist, bakery/greengrocer and some really gorgeous walks. We are very close (about 15/20 min drive) to Shrewsbury Town which is a really lovely, thriving market town with some fantastic history and a huge amount of eating places. Also nearby are the historic towns of Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Bishop's Castle and Church Stretton to name just a few. We also have several cinemas within a half hour drive, as well as a theatre and live music venues.
  • Had a fantastic one night stay at Quarry View with my partner and my dog. Pippa was a great host, very helpful and quick to respond to queries. The cottage is lovely, very homely and comes equipped with everything you might need, including tea, coffee and some breakfast provisions (bread, butter, granola), which was a nice touch. There are some amazing walks you can go on right from the doorstep, so no need to drive anywhere once you arrive. We'd be more than happy to stay at Quarry View again! Thank you for a very pleasant weekend 😊

    Natalia2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Quarry View is one of the loveliest places that I've stayed in. The decor throughout is utterly gorgeous, with wonderful pictures and paintings on the walls. Really liked all of it, and could quite easily have moved in for good! Everything you could possibly need has been thought of, the kitchen area is great and we cooked both nights we stayed and there was every utensil you could possibly need. Just really thoughtful touches from Pippa like a loaf of bread, a pint of milk, some butter and cereal left for us, made the stay even more special. The wood burner in the lounge makes it extremely cosy, and the sofa is really comfortable. The WiFi is super quick, which was great. The bed is extremely comfortable, with lovely cotton bedding. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope to go back one day in the not too distant future. Thanks for everything, Pippa!

    Adam2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was such good value - Pippa and family have decorated the place in a lovely style and there were lots of little touches that added luxury to the stay. The house was built by her husband and must be well built because for a small annex it stayed really warm all night in cold weather without us needing to put the electric heater on past evening. There are plenty of walks to do straight from the front door and it is a lovely secluded spot surrounded by trees and hills.

  • Rachel responded to any queries before our visit and let us in to the property as soon as we pulled up. She made it very clear that she was on site all night and at any point we could make contact with her. The place is stylish and modern. Tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed and spacious en-suite. Woke up next too some friendly sheep neighbours and lovely countryside views. Breakfast was presented and tasted lovely and delivered to the door at our requested time. An oldie worldie British village.

    Courtney2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Rachel and Dans place. Communication about arrival time was great and the space so warm and cosy. The local pub was perfect for a meal and few drinks with the log fire. There were lovely little touches within the room and Rachel shared local knowledge for walks within the area. Even during a very stormy night we didn't get woken up and the room stayed warm. An amazingly sized bathroom with a better shower than I have at home :) Breakfast was lovely, being delivered to the room at a time that suited us. All in all, a lovely village, a great place to stay and excellent hosts.

The bathroom is for guests rooms (which basically means, that if you will be lucky as we were, you will have private bathroom :) ). Everything was absolutely clean. The kitchenette was equipped with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Helen offered us to wash laundry. Everything was excellent, we were always looking forward to coming back from our trips in Shropshire, which provides countless opportunities for trips. We were satisfied with this accommodation at all, I can only recommend!

This is a very secluded cottage away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is up a private lane with only one other house near. I have been on Airbnb for a couple of years with my single room but, as I'm now away a lot, I thought I'd also offer the whole house when I am not there, as I find it so peaceful and relaxing. Sitting outside all you can hear is birdsong and the occasional tractor
The cottage is wonderfully quiet - I rarely hear any traffic. It's an ideal holiday home for those wanting to explore the Shropshire Hills, or just have some peace. It comprises of one double bedroom, one single bedroom, downstairs bathroom (bath, toilet and basin), upstairs bathroom (shower, toilet and basin), living room, dining room, study, kitchen, utility room, very large garden and secluded patio.
The nearest shops (Church Stretton) are 7 miles away, so a car is pretty essential up here. Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth are about 30 minutes away, with gorgeous independent coffee shops and restaurants.
  • Wonderfully comfortably and cosy cottage in an absolutely stunning location, pure tranquility & the views were incredible in all weathers. All was as advertised prior and exceeded our expectations. Cottage was well equipped with everything needed and Peters information pack and maps were extremely helpful. Despite not being present himself the hospitality was extremely generous. Particularly loved the view from bench as shown in the pictures. Perfect for enjoying a drink and taking it all in. Location is great, far enough away to feel like you are the only people around but it’s not too much hassle to reach amenities. Would love to return and stay again as keen to explore more of the area on foot, something you can also do right from the doorstep! Thanks Peter for a memorable stay.

  • A perfect cottage for a quiet weekend away to rest, relax and enjoy the countryside. Beautiful location for walking and only a 15 minute drive to the town of Ludlow, where we enjoyed an afternoon browsing the shops and having a coffee. The cottage was homely, had absolutely everything we needed and we would definitely come again.

    Rosie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We would stay again at Peter's place because of its wonderful rural location, in which we saw bats, a fox and other wildlife. Fantastic views! The accommodation suited our group and we were very grateful for Peter's willingness to accommodate our son at no extra cost, even making up a bed in the study for him. The private road to the house was just about OK (in December), but we were a bit worried about the underneath of the cars at times, although we drove very carefully. As it was Christmas we brought all our supplies and we found all the equipment we needed in the kitchen. The house was warm and welcoming, though the wifi and phone signals were as you might expect in such a remote spot - a bit weak. We walked in the Carding Mill Valley, a popular spot, and had lunch in Church Stretton. It's an area we would like to explore further. Peter is a very helpful and considerate host and we would recommend his property. The check in and out times are great if you want a relaxed departure.

  • Great place to stay with fantastic views and good walks near by. The cottage had everything we needed. Peter was very helpful and quick to respond to messages. Really enjoyed our stay here!

  • Truly a home from home. Quiet! Peter's house is down a bridleway off a quiet country road so no traffic at all - a couple of walkers now and again perhaps. Its a lovely place to stay, everything that you could need is there, even the fridge had milk, eggs, butter, cheeses, yoghurt and other things, a light meal when arriving didn't require shopping before hand. There was bread, tea, coffee and sugar too. I can highly recommend anyone to stay here, big TV, perfect freeview reception, good internet speed despite the location (I was surprised, I'm used to fibre and it isn't fibre speed but totally adequate). Peter's place is a country cottage, don't know how old, it has its quirks but that's all part of its charm, I'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

  • Great place to stay! Smack bang in the middle of the country side, really couldn't get any closer to nature if you tried! The host was lovely, will definitely stay again soon

  • If you like coarse fishing this is the place! Great accommodation, surprisingly quiet for such a large number of cottages in the courtyard, also sparkling clean and great communication and hospitality, someone always available. Fishing ponds close by (5 min car trip) very well stocked with good size carp, had a great time

  • Lovely quiet place to stay

    Tess2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really nice place to stay in lovely surroundings. Be aware it is off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Pub within walking distance and the journey back to the main road is easy once you work out the landmarks - no road names and the sat nav didn't work but very friendly locals helped. Would definitely go again a home away from home.

  • This place is a lovely space to spend some time away from it all. Cosy and stylish, with everything you need. It makes a great base from which to explore the lovely countryside. Easy to find if you pay attention to Jane’s instructions; she was on hand for help and support but unobtrusive so you felt like it was your own place.

Host very helpful and easy to contact, but not in your face. Would definitely consider returning and would recommend to others.

  • You will definitely enjoy your stay at The Chestnut , extremely clean and spacious and great for your four legged friends .

  • A newly renovated space perfect for a quiet get away!

    Augusta2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Chestnut suite was a lovely cottage in rural Shropshire. Modern and immaculately clean, Liz had thought of everything that anyone wanting a break away from life could hope for. A large, comfortable bedroom, huge bathroom and a warm and inviting reception area were better than expected from the listing. The description does not do this place justice. Liz; the host; provided high quality directions and details about the location and went above and beyond when I made some requests. If you're lucky enough to be offered cake by the host; accept. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!!

    Ryan2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in the Chestnut Suite for a couple nights. We brought our dog, TJ, and the space works well for that, with an enclosed garden and a private exercise area just opposite. The apartment is well appointed and spotlessly clean (and no trace of any previous doggy visitors, if like us that’s a concern, or you aren’t a dog owner) . We’d certainly book again if ever in the area. Thanks Liz!

    Andrew2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful little cottage, peaceful countryside, lovely setting, stylish inside and very cosy. Easy check-in, Liz was great with communication pre-booking, the shortbread biscuits for our arrival were a lovely thoughtful touch. We will definetly be back. Thank you.
