Point of Interest
“The Oldest Standing Schoolhouse in Arizona, established in 1884. A local dispute over the site for the school building was solved by cowboys using a calf rope and counting the number of lengths between the Hicks-Duncan cabin on the west end of the valley and the Peach cabin on the east end. They retraced their steps to the mid-point. There the one room log school was built and still stands. The school is located on Fossil Creek Road in Strawberry, Arizona and is open to the public from May through mid-October on weekends and holidays. ”

Museum
“The Pine-Strawberry Museum in Pine, Arizona, was opened in 1979 for the purpose of displaying artifacts related to the prehistory and history of Pine and its twin among the pines, Strawberry. All around us, the Mogollon Rim is a wilderness of ethereal beauty, carved majestically into unmatched proportions. Much of what is displayed in the Pine-Strawberry Museum today is in tribute to the dedication and hard work of our founding families. The museum houses prehistoric artifacts found in the land area of Pine and Strawberry Valleys and near plateaus, as well as artifacts actually bought and used by the earliest settlers to the communities.”

“If you're ever up in Pine, AZ stop by Tymeless Antiques & Treasures Too. What a terrific shop! A person could spend an entire day there, seeing the sights. There's way too much to take in in a short amount of time! The shop smells heavenly and is nicely laid out. It would be a great place to find a gift for any occasion. Monkey butter, cowboy candy, lots of pickles, strawberry-rhubarb jelly, and so much more! Always a treasure- fun to go back in time. Always find great treasures! The owners are friendly, funny, kind and just so much fun to hang out with! They have two locations in Pine.”
