We had an amazing overnight stay at the old stable! Thanks to clear instructions the location and entry to the property was very easy. Upon arrival the room was extremely welcoming and sparkling clean. Being Valentine’s Day, the cupcakes and chocolate was a lovely gesture. Everything you could have needed was provided, and more! We really appreciated the little touches, as well as the breakfast choices - very thoughtful! We were extremely comfortable and cosy. Janet and Anthony were very friendly and happy to accommodate any queries or requests we had. Thank you very much for a lovely stay and we would definitely come again!

We'd suggest staying at The Old Stable for anyone who wants to spend a weekend in the beautiful Surrey. For our trip, the hosts were extremely accommodating with the check-in (we arrived quite late from our trekking tour) and kindly heated up the place for us. They also gave us directions to nearby places to buy local foods, and let us stay beyond the check-out time. The place itself is a detached cosy house with all the essentials inside plus a kitchenette. Everything was well-kept, modern and clean. It couldn't have been better!

Very welcoming couple who were very communicative throughout the whole process. The cottage is a very well kept and modernised space that has all you need for a few relaxing nights away in the country. We were very happy with our choice to stay there and would definitely recommend it to solo or paired travellers but would certainly advise visiting with a car.

Gorgeous property in idyllic surroundings. Easy to find and beautiful views. Peace and quiet, you wake up to birds every morning and nothing else. Comfortable and cosy space, every basic available (salt, pepper, oil, shower gel, shampoo etc-washing machine with 3in1 tablets an added bonus) plenty of space. Can’t fault it. We will definitely be back, would love to spend a bit more time exploring the area.

Perfect quiet get away, beautiful location. Clean with wonderful shower rooms. Plenty of hot water. The welcome tea/coffee/ milk and other items was gratefully received.

The location is beautiful and outstanding. The facilities are superb. This is not a place to stay if you want to cook cordon blue meals. However, if you are happy with microwave meals and avail yourself of the excellent food in pubs around Petworth then this is the place for you.

A beautiful space in the most peaceful location, with rolling fields on all sides. The picturesque town of Petworth is a 5 minute drive away, with excellent pubs even closer (a particular s/o to the Welldiggers). The flat is well maintained and will all amenities you could need - would love to visit again.

Sarah is a great host. The place was exactly as advertised, very clean and well equipped. Sarah even gave us boxes of toys for our toddler, which was much appreciated! Nice spot for walks and a country escape from London.

Sarah's place was absolutely amazing! So peaceful and beautiful and the added touches just make it above and beyond expectations. We really needed a secluded break away and that's exactly what we got. This is its own little paradise in the countryside.

Thank you to Sarah for a wonderful few days at your converted barn. A bottle of cava, orange juice and milk with bread in the bread bin, fully stocked tea and coffee made all the difference for us arriving with nothing. It is soooooo worth the drive through the country roads for a stunningly beautiful location and facilities. The giant walk in shower was luxury and the beautiful fully fitted kitchen including a washing machine and dish washer was just lovely. We were so lucky that Sarah was happy to accommodate our three small white fluffy dogs too! It was just wonderful to enjoy the drive and explore the South Downs, the coast and pretty near by towns and villages. Thank you so much Sarah!

From the first message to enquire, all the way through our stay, to the day we got home and messaged as we thought we'd forgotten something, Sarah's communication speed and helpfulness is the best we've had using Air BnB. The lodge is a superb standard, spotlessly clean and little touches that make the difference are thought of. Sarah and her husband even ensured our 10 month old enjoyed his stay by providing toys and a cot which were waiting in the lodge. The location allows for stunning walks and sun rises and is absolutely perfect if you want a quiet break from the 9-5. You'd never know the lodge is in the grounds of Sarah's House as privacy is completely respected although Sarah and her husband are on hand for helpful tips during your stay or to answer any questions. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we were in the area

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at Dragonfly Cottage for two nights over New Years with our 8 month old son; looking to escape the hubbub of London and get some fresh air. From start to finish communication with Sarah was fantastic - she was particularly considerate in offering options for placement of the travel cot (which she provided, as well as a high chair and some of her daughters old toys). The Cottage itself is a wonderful cosy space with plenty of room for little ones to play within sight. The surroundings are beautiful and we felt we could be in the middle of nowhere; we took a walk along the canal to Loxwood which was picturesque even on a grey day - we only wish we were able to stay another day or two so we could have explored further. Finally, we took advantage of the opportunity to feed the alpacas which our son loved - not something you get to experience with every Airbnb. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay and a pleasure to deal with such a great host as Sarah - would recommend to all!

Sarah is a fantastic host and the lodge a lovely place to stay in the Surrey countryside. She organised lots of nice items for breakfast which was a really nice touch as we didn’t have to worry about grabbing things from the supermarket. The lodge is exactly as you see it in the photos, very stylishly decorated and sparkling clean. There are some really nice walks to do in the area and her pub recommendations are great. We loved Noah’s Ark in Lurgashall. We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend Sarah’s lodge.

Absolutely fantastic stay at the lodge - the location really is about as secluded as you could possibly want, facilities in the lodge are fantastic and Sarah couldn't be a more helpful host. Annie’s place was just what I needed for an overnight stay before a job interview in Dunsfold. She was the most welcoming hostess, providing plentiful cups of tea and local information and her cats were super friendly. She also drove me to my job interview which was really helpful and helped calm my nerves. I thoroughly recommend!

We stayed for just one night but Annie was a great host, very friendly and accommodating. She has a lot of friendly cats too!

This is an excellent place to stay. We were looking for somewhere to completely relax and wind down for a couple of days as this was perfect. The communication was excellent throughout and this is definitely somewhere that we would go back to so that we could get away again.

A well-designed cottage on a farm, surrounded by open countryside., with ample storage space, ensuite bathroom as well as a downstairs toilet and well-equipped kitchen. Spotlessly clean, despite being dog- friendly, comfortable and warm, the Coop was within easy driving distance of Chichester and close to Petworth.

Big thanks to Elaine, very easy check-in and beautiful little cottage. We will be returning very soon!

Everything went smoothly - easy check-in and check-out, and Sissy was very helpful with our questions. I can't recommend staying here enough. We stayed here to give ourselves a break from the busyness of the Christmas period and it was perfect. The local pub is less than a stone's throw away (even with my bad throwing arm) and has good food and board games.

The cottage is right by the Common and very quiet. We enjoyed walking around Dunsfold which is an attractive Surrey village

Sissy’s place exceeded my expectation in every way and was so cosy and it delighted me and my partner immensely. Not only was the place clean and well equipped but her and her family are so cool and welcoming. I’m recommending anyone who enjoys historic sites and an eye for detail to stay here and the locals were just as nice. All in all a great stay.

Sparkling clean one bedroom cottage - perfect for two people. Kitchen well equipped and lovely croissant for breakfast! Dunsfold is such a pretty place and cottage a couple of doors from the pub!

Cozy guesthouse in rural location with all you could need for a home away from home. Being next door to a pub is extremely useful if you don't fancy cooking, though the property comes very well equipped. Fantastic host, who was extremely eager to help, keeping us updated, and offering communication at a moments notice. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely little annex on some really beautiful land, located amongst a number of cute villages with warm, cosy pubs. Kitchen features a lovely Arga, a small fridge (space for a few days of basics) and all the cookware you need to home cater. Lounge area has a tv and faux electric heater fireplace, which give enough warmth to the room. Bedroom and bathroom lovely. Would stay again!

This is the best little place one can find int he area if you are visiting for what ever reason, better than any hotel or travel lodge. Super clean thoughtful touches and just so easy and idyllic. What would you not stay here?

Cate is a very welcoming host and many kind extra touches are left for guests. Bread and milk plus coffee and tea. The accommodation is clean and cosy. The bedroom is magnificent as are the grounds. I would highly recommend this property. Great too if you like long country dog walks.

We loved our stay here. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome basket was a very thoughtful touch. Its a great option to feel like you can take a total break from the city but is only 90min from London. The hosts provided great recommendations for local restaurants and walks. A quiet and peaceful location with a good sized bedroom and everything you need.

You can expect a tidy and very clean room that has all the amenities a traveller would need to spend a couple of nights in a rural surrounding. Francesca is a great host, reliable and discreet.

Francesca is a lovely lady, and her doggy is also very lovely. The house and room very clean and comfortable, Quiet and very convenient, only 3ish miles to Godalming. Slept well, which is a bonus when working long days and staying away. Francesca provided extras which was not expected, would recommend but not just now as I want to stay again. Thanks Carmen

Virginia’s Pony House is an ideal place to stay. It has a kitchen with a kettle, toaster, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The lounge/bedroom has a nice double bed and a tv. The location is good, it’s only a short walk to the main high street in the centre of Cranleigh. Virginia had left milk, tea and coffee and chocolate for me which was great! Virginia was really helpful in directing me to find her and responded straight away to my messages. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

Small but very comfortable accommodation. Enclosed secure garden and area for dogs.

This little gem of a place is on the edge of the village. Its within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. There is a supermarket nearby for the things you may need to stock up on. The property itself is well appointed and really comfortable. Virginia, the host, is a lovely warm host who will meet you on arrival. There is a lovely garden which can be used to excercise your dog, if you take it with you. One word of warning though, don't leave your dog unattended in the garden as there is a very low wall to the rear of the garden which if jumped means that they can access the grounds of the school behind (which are very extenssive).

Virginia’s place is a great base for anyone visiting the area. Beautiful property and all of the amenities that you could need. A great host would recommend to anyone. Thanks again Virginia!

A cosy retreat in the countryside close to Guildford. David is a helpful and unobtrusive host. The annex is fairly well-appointed, with fast broadband, and Freeview TV. Good off-road parking.

We was a VERY last minute booking and Alex made communication and check in soo easy, and still managed to provide breakfast bits!! Had my morning coffee with sheep and a horse after the best nights sleep in months. 111% will be booking again :D

Very kindly let us check in a little early as we had to get to a family wedding, host incredibly accomodating, check we were all ok, told us the basics, heating etc. And left us to it. Also, just as a bonus, we got to meet the incredibly cute kitten who lived in the main house too! Would recommend the space. Lovely and warm, perfect as an over night base (just as a side note, there is no toilet/bathroom door which didn't matter for us at all, but good to know all the same)

great little Barn to stay in. every thing you need, set in a lovely part of the country .. really recommend this. little place.

Cute little converted barn unit, hosted by a terrifically friendly host (who I never actually met but was quite responsive). There are actually several units for rental. I stayed in the slightly larger of the two "side" units (not, I think, the one pictured here) and it was quite homey and idiosyncratic: a small comfortable leather couch, surprisingly well-equipped full kitchen, and a double bed that was (I think) two smaller mattresses pushed together. The bathroom was very small, with a quirky shower that took a lot of playing with to get right, and there's no door to the toilet, which is right next to the bed. Nice shuttered windows and dimmable lighting. The location is not exactly secluded: more like a small farm with a few units all looking out on to a nice open lawn with barbecue and a couple of horses nearby. It's just off a country road that connects Haslemere to Chiddingfold, so there isn't much within walking distance. But it's very quiet and peaceful. Alex was also great: she forgot to provide milk for tea, and when I mentioned it she asked another guest if he would provide it, which he did! It all felt very familial and warm. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Not high-end luxury, exactly, just a really good atmosphere.

Lovely, quirky and cosy space. Don’t come expecting all mod cons, electricity, WiFi etc. Do come to escape in a really unique location, surrounded by lovely views (and tiny horses!) and hosted by super friendly people. Loved it.

Lovely shepherds hut, full of character and thoughtful personal touches. We really enjoyed our stay.

Emma’s Shepherds Hut is a perfect nature getaway spot. We had a great stay overnight and really enjoyed all aspects of it. It is not your normal stay as there are not the usual amenities (electricity, mains water) but if you are looking to get away from normal life and slow things down - this place is perfect. We went for a beautiful walk in the forest near the hut, and enjoyed cooking over an open fire in the evening. The hut has a log burner for heating and it heats the space up very effectively and very quickly. The ponies and chickens in the field close by were also delightful! I also particularly liked the composting toilet- really clean and well constructed. There is also a regular toilet and shower available for those who don't want to use the composting one. Overall - it was wonderful so thank you Emma!

We had a great time at Emma's shepherd hut. The location was stunning and the chickens were cute! The hut is cosy and comfortable even in the gale force winds we got and we would love to stay again.

Vicky was an excellent host and helped us out at the last minute. We are frontline workers and working in the area, unable to travel further. At the last minute, Vicky was able to provide her accommodation to help during this time. The place was amazingly presented, very stylish and had lots of thoughtful touches. Had a wonderful overnight stay. Vicky was always very prompt in communication, and was there to show us around. She was extremely helpful showing us how everything worked, and had left the place cosy and warm (unfortunately a couple of places we have stayed have noticeably scrimped on the heating which really impacted our stay!). The bed was incredibly comfortable and felt very luxurious. Vicky had left lovely thoughtful touches such as fresh(delicious!)bread, butter, milk etc. The location is a short stroll into Cranleigh which was perfect. Will definitely be back.

Vicky’s place is really a really comfortable place to stay, the bed is super comfy and it has all the amenities you need. The garden is lovely with the huge windows overlooking. Vicky is a lovely welcoming host and gave clear information for everything we might need to know.

The place could be also used for business stays. We booked for our colleague and he was very enthusiastic about it. It is also perfect location for his place of work.

Liz’s place was perfect for our needs and a beautiful location for country walks. It’s a huge apartment. We stayed a week and each had a place to set up “working from home”. Everything was comfortable. Liz was amazing and picked up some fresh veggies for us too. Closing the door to the stairs cut the noise from the apartment next door so we weren’t disturbed at all, unlike other comments.

What an amazing place! Extremely comfortable with very stylish decor. Set in a rural location with great views yet close to local amenities. I would definitely stay again.

Loxwood small is a fantastic space. Much bigger than the photos show. Decorated to a very high standard, good quality furniture and lovely little touches with candles and fresh flowers on arrival. It looks just like the photos but bigger. I found the large space so relaxing, but at the same it all feels very cosy. The space is self contained, but as Liz describes, it is inside her house so essentially you may hear people going up and down the stairs - I didn't find it to be an issue at all. The space is beautifully furnished. Liz is a wonderful host. I would definitely come again.

This place is truly beautiful it’s spacious, homely, and so many wonderful touches. The bed was super comfy, lots of cushions, blankets, candles etc. The place itself is clean, has everything you need and Liz was really welcoming and helpful. This lovely apartment was a very special place to stay. Inge-Lise and Erik gave us a warm welcome and made it easy for us to settle in. The space is beautifully decorated and has a real country charm which we loved! We had everything we needed and it was all very clean and tidy. The snacks and breakfast were a great and thoughtful added feature. I would happily stay here again!

The dovecote is a very pretty building made into a delightful flat with a little living room and bathroom, on top of which there's a beautiful loft bedroom with an amazing ceiling. It's a great place for exploring the south Sussex area, quiet , clean and run by very friendly hosts next door.

Well, I don't want to spoil any surprises for future guests, so let's just say... it's a cosy and romantic space with lots of character, located in a beautiful part of the world, plus Inge-Lise & Erik are true super-hosts.

Peace and quite, a car is needed to drive anywhere some lovely pubs nearby.

Judy’s place is an absolute delight. It has all the amenities and furnishings for a sublime few days away from it all. The village is picture perfect - I’ve never seen so many quintessential English cottages in one place! The local pub was cosy, wine was good, I didn’t try the food so can’t attest to that. I will definitely be back in the summer if I can book in!!

This was our second stay at the Reading Rooms and even though the weather didn't quite match our previous trip we still loved our stay. A cosy, clean, and quiet space to hideaway for a weekend or use as a base for some beautiful local walks. An additional note - we don't have a car and can thoroughly recommend Mac's local hire for taxi needs! On both trips they've gone out of their way to help us.

The property... The Reading Rooms make for a very pretty countryside getaway. Photos are very accurate - it is a beautiful space - beds are very comfy and there is also a lovely big bath! Check in was self-service and really easy. Nice pubs nearby too. Getting there... We actually travelled by train, getting off at Billingshurst. While I am sure it is easier to drive, rest assured you can still get to and from the property using a local cab company - it took about 15mins and cost just over £10.

Such a cosy bed and breakfast! We had a lovely welcome, everything was sparkling clean and the bed was very comfy ! Loved the touches in the bathroom as well as the mini fridge - fab for making tea and coffee in the morning. Our host couldn’t have made us feel more at home. Would 100% recommend !

It's a lovely room amid gorgeous woodland and fields. We were lucky with the weather and enjoying walking the bluebell filled paths all around. Sally is a wonderful host, and breakfast was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend!

This is a lovely place to stay to visit beautiful Sussex. The room is well-appointed and very comfortable, totally independent and nice and calm. The bed is comfortable, the decoration is pretty, the wifi and tea- and coffee-making facilities are very convenient and the Sally and her husband are extremely welcoming and informative. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to visit this beautiful area of the country to stay here.

We couldn’t have wished for a more welcoming host. We really felt we were being looked after! Incredibly relaxing, peaceful and comfortable - with great food! We only came for a wedding, but are thinking of returning just for the quality of the stay.

Had a wonderful stay here, and a great night's sleep - great pillows! The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. Steve made us feel really welcome in Sally's absence and served a great breakfast - thanks also for the excellent directions when we managed to get ourselves horribly lost! Recommended to my London based friends when they want a break from city life within easy travelling distance.

A village country pub with welcoming locals, great atmosphere in a charming old building and the quirks to go with a 400 year old building, a cosy bar and relaxed restaurant with attentive staff and a nice meal we had a loverly over night stay.

The lodge was beautiful! Everything was as expected and described. There were lots of personal touches throughout the property and was spotless. Barbara was very flexible about when we arrived after driving down late from work and allowing us to just let ourselves into the property but despite being late, Barbara still greeted us when we arrived, showing us round. It was down a lane, privately gated and was easy to find. The grounds were beautiful and would love to stay again in the summer to really appreciate how beautiful they were. It was so quiet and the bed was extremely comfy - best night sleep we’d had in a long time. It’s close to Cranleigh where we had a lovely meal! Barbara beforehand told us of some lovely places to eat in the area so we could plan our weekend. Will definitely be staying again!

The cottage is very nice, spacious enough for us and our toddler, and the gardens are very safe (enclosed by a full wall) so that was great with a little one. Very comfortable, quiet, but only a short drive to nearby Cranleigh with shops and restaurants etc. A great base from which to explore the Surrey hills!

What a glorious find! I stayed at Barbara's cottage when I was in Surrey for a wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The setting is rural, but also accessible to nearby Cranleigh (a lovely village by the way), and is so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful gardens and big trees. The cottage itself was spotless, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay - Barbara was thoughtful enough to accommodate my dietary requirements with the breakfast options that she leaves in the cottage, which I thought was really a nice touch. The bed was SUPER comfy, and the linen felt really luxurious. The night before the wedding, I really enjoyed the DVD collection too. Barbara was such a lovely host. She gave me all the information I needed, and made me feel so at home. I felt like I'd known her all my life! I really appreciated such generous hospitality, and would stay again in a heartbeat. I think I'd like to come back just to chill and clear my head space - it's that kind of place. Thanks again Barbara! And I will miss your gorgeous cat too! Holly

My wife and I had the most amazing night at Barbara’s stunning cottage in Surrey. The setting was incredible - so peaceful, picturesque and secluded - and only 5 mins from Cranleigh, where was had a lovely dinner and is a very pretty village. Barbara greeted us when we arrived and throughout was the most hospitable and welcoming host we’ve ever had through Airbnb. The cottage itself is so well equipped and was sparkling clean. The bed was comfy and we had our best night sleep in ages. The gardens surrounding the cottage are just spectacular too - I can’t even imagine how beautiful they would be in the summer. We could have walked around them for hours if it were a bit warmer! After just a night we were sad to leave but we will be returning soon for another romantic getaway from London. We had a lovely stay at Barbara’s. The property is down a gravel track and I got lost on the way there but Barbara was great and gave me directions to the cottage. I was later than planned and Barbara was very flexible. The cottage is as described and had everything we needed - worth mentioning the oven/hob is table top so not suitable for a large feast but perfectly fine for cooking a quick meal for two. Bed is comfy and bathroom is very clean and modern. We used the hot tub which was lovely, although close to the main house. All in all, Barbara is a wonderful host and all her little personal touches made the cottage feel very cosy and homely.

Because me and my partner are living in North London, we wanted our vacation to be a get away from the loud city. Staying at Barbaras was just perfect for this! The spacious garden was lovely and quiet and the cottage itself is equipped with everything that you need. We cooked, had a little Barbecue and even watched a movie out of her big DVD Collection. Sometimes in the morning her beautiful Bengal cat was greeting us with a friendly meow. Barbara herself was very kind and helpful with every question that we had. All together it was just amazing. Thank you!

Barbara was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is a lovely place to stay and so peaceful, if you are looking for a relaxing experience then I highly recommend you stay here. Barbara left a lot of information on places to go/ eat, which was very helpful as we never stayed near the surrounding area before!

The property is spacious, clean and full of character. Kenneth was able to give us tips on anything we were unsure of, from cooking on an aga to the best hiking spots in the area.

The location was beautiful! Ken was extremely helpful from first enquiry to staying at his place, with quick responses and going out of his way to make it a comfortable stay! A lovely, peaceful location, perfect for our trip!

We came and stayed here for two nights while we came down for a family wedding. We were welcomed very warmly by Kenneth who had everything ready for us and made sure our every need was attended to and all bases were covered. Our rooms were very comfortable and we loved the big sitting room with the woodburning stove. Although only really here for sleeping and breakfast in the morning we had a lovely time here and would definitely return again. The only minor issue would be the noisy boiler at 6am in the morning and the very strong smells of oil from the central heating but understandably this can’t be helped and some are more sensitive to it than others. All in all a lovely stay and we cannot thank Kenneth enough for being so attentive and welcoming us with open arms into his lovely historic home in the country side.

Great house with an awesome living room area with big Sofas and a wood burner. Location is great, within walking distance of a couple of pubs and even a brewery! Ken is very welcoming and attentive, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Katherine's place is really great. We've been to over five AirBnb's in the area and this was our favourite. It has a lovely living space for those inside moments when the weather's not so good and the green space around was nice too and I'm sure will be in the warm weather. It was peaceful, well located for some lovely walks and spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchen. Katherine was lovely and welcoming to us and Nia the dog when we arrived and we'd highly recommend.

Katherine is a considerate and kind host. My sister had been very ill and we needed a place to recuperate as I looked after her. The place is immaculate, clean, modern and spacious. The area of West Sussex is beautiful and we went on day trips all the time with our dog. The area is quiet and serene, beautiful landscapes and brilliant woodland areas. The barn is super cosy and warm even if it gets chilly, a beautiful kitchen and lounge with WiFi and Apple TV. We would like to thank Katherine and Simon, and her wonderful children. I know they the noise down for our benefit. Very thoughtful. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Katherine even looked out for my sister as I was called to work. Thank you Katherine.

A little slice of the good life. I booked Katherine's lovely refurbished barn for a quiet weekend away with the 'blonde' for our one year anniversary. We found on arrival some picturesque scenery, a helpful host and a fresh loaf waiting for us on the kitchen table. We left with memories of country walks, local pubs and the sweet sound of rain hitting the window pain...magical when you've got nowhere to be (and when you're in the middle of a heatwave). Lovely spot, well cared for. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet weekend away to recharge the batteries.

Airy and well equiped living area. Great location near Petworth Park.

Lucy & Richard's place is a perfect place to stay in Petworth - hidden away but right in the centre. It was super clean & had everything you need in including towelling bathrobes in each room. Our favourite space was the open plan sitting room & dining room, super light with great windows. A bottle of wine & milk was a welcome surprise touch. Lucy was a great host and communication was really quick. Sarah left a very special piece of jewellery in the apartment and Lucy contacted us to let us know and arranged for this to be sent back to us. We are looking forward to stay there again and hope it is available!
