  • Sarah made it easy to check in. Our room was quiet, private, clean, and comfortable. The location and the view were very attractive, too.

  • Had a wonderful 1-night stay at Sarah’s. Everything exceeded my expectations! One thing I really appreciated was her quick action when I messaged her with an issue. I arrived late, and wanted to have a shower before bed - but couldn’t seem to get the hot water working. After texting her around 10:30pm, she was super quick to come upstairs and investigate. All was fixed within minutes!

  • Very nice place, both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the place after a tiring day on Cabot Trail. Thanks Sarah for the hospitality

  • Sarah and Sheldon have a great house! We stayed in room no. 1 and shared the bathroom with no. 2. We had a fridge in our room and were able to cook in their large kitchen downstairs. Sheldon was available for questions. For us, Pleasant Bay was an ideal location to walk the Skyline Trail - so we can highly recommend Sarah's Place.

Cliff Waters Cottage is the perfect retreat for a couple or small family, sleeping up to four people. The oceanfront cottage sits exclusively on a pristine 89 acre property, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding ocean, mountains, sunsets and sky. The lofted open concept cottage is exceptionally clean and bright and stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay, making a perfect seaside cottage get away.
Large picture windows and an expansive deck offer panoramic views of the ocean, mountains, sunsets and stars in this oceanfront cottage. This is a one of a kind vacation experience not to be missed! The cottage comes with a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, dishes, pots, pans etc.) ocean view cooking island, wood stove, BBQ, dining and living quarters, 4-piece bathroom, queen bed downstairs, 2 double beds in loft, linens, washer, dryer, phone, wireless internet., no pets.
Cliff Waters Cottage in Pleasant Bay is very secluded, yet central to the best of Cape Breton - the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, whale watching, hiking trails, Pollett's Cove, and Gampo Abbey Buddhist Monastery. Just off the beaten track this secluded oceanfront retreat sits on 89 acres of private land. There is a sandy beach at the bottom of the hill with both river and ocean swimming. Hiking, sightseeing, whale watching, restaurants, shops, and local craftspeople are all within minutes of Cliff Waters. The cottage is fully equipped, very clean, comfortable and relaxed with a large deck and large windows overlooking the ocean and sunsets. The cottage has an open concept and is best suited to a couple, but is also great for a small family. Pleasant Bay is a sleepy little fishing village nestled in the foothills of the Highlands National Park. Through winter there is a one-store-town of about 120 people. In summer, fishermen head out to sea and a handful of accommodation, shop, whale tour and restaurant owners open their doors for tourists travelling along the Cabot Trail. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the locals are easy to talk to. We rely on communities outside of the park - mainly Cheticamp - for services such as groceries, gas, alcohol and banking. About Us We are a small homesteading family, who has moved from the city onto land that has been in our family for five generations and almost 100 years. We live past Gampo Abbey, about 3 kms from the cottage. We are here to help you have a great time and keep you informed on what to do and see while you're staying at Cliff Waters. If you're here for a week, we'll have you down to the house for a meal made with fresh eggs from our chickens, and berries and vegetables from our organic garden, or lobster from the sea - what ever is fresh and in season. If you're here for just a few days, we'll have you for coffee and homemade snack. Whatever the length of your stay, we'd like to meet. We enjoy meeting new people very much - it is a true joy for us. We have been fortunate enough to meet some of the most wonderful people from all around the world at our kitchen table. Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities Just down the road is a Buddhist monastery. Around 25 people live, work and study at the Abbey year round. They meditate daily in a shrine overlooking the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and balance their study with a work period in the commune. It is not uncommon to travel the remote road and see nuns and monks walking, maroon robes dancing in the wind - quite a remarkable sight. There is a Stupa of Enlightenment on the Abbey grounds with slogans of wisdom engraved in stone. You can tour the Abbey daily in the afternoon throughout the summer for a small donation. At the end of the dirt road, a footpath continues along the coast for roughly 9.5 kms to an abandoned settlement named Pollett's Cove. In the early 1900's, large families lived here with fishing and farming as a way of life. There was a school, a lobster canning factory, fishing shacks and houses. Large boats delivered staples such as sugar, tea and molasses in exchange for goods that the community produced. Today local farmers set their horses to pasture there, creating a very green, peaceful and fertile river valley - well worth the hike! The Cape Breton Highlands National Park is accessible within minutes and the large Park offers a wealth of hiking trails, guided tours and sight seeing opportunities along the Cabot Trail. There is an information booth at both entry points into the Park in Cheticamp and Ingonish. We provide a Park pass free of charge for all guests staying at the cottage. Whale tours depart daily from the harbour. We highly recommend scheduling a tour as the vastness of the undeveloped landscape of our wilderness protected areas and our National Park can be seen in great detail by boat. Whales are extremely common in this area and sightings are guaranteed by most operators. You may travel by fishing boat or by zodiac. We recommend going by zodiac as you can cover so much water quickly, for those who enjoy a rush. We recommend the older style fishing boats for those who enjoy the nostalgia of a day gone by. Either way, pick a clear day, and ask the operator to take you up the coast to Pollett's Cove if he can.
  • Our stay at Niki’s cottage was a wonderful place to make great memories! Clean and cozy with the wood burning fireplace. Full kitchen to make great meals, fantastic landscape to explore! Excellent experience!

  • This cottage is as close to the ocean as it gets! Beautiful sunset feet away from the deck. The cottage itself is gorgeous with lots of character. High ceilings, loft, and a very comfy bed. Make sure you take advantage of the wood stove as well! Will be back for sure.

  • Niki’s cottage was amazing. It was an easy check in, beautiful secluded location, lovely interior, and felt exactly like a warm cottage retreat should. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare a lobster dinner, and the fireplace was a comfy touch to a perfect evening. Would definitely recommend, and would love to return!

Our home is located on a secluded wooded 7 acre riverfront property located minutes from Cape Breton Highlands National Park & the picturesque town of Cheticamp. The house itself is a Lindell cedar home. The exterior is fully landscaped with several areas set up to sit & enjoy the beauty & serenity of the locale. The interior is tastefully decorated including an extensive collection of Inuit art & carvings collected over our extended career in the North as teachers & outfitters.
People who love nature & the outdoors will love it here. We do have a cat, dogs and a horse on the property. The cat and dogs are in and out of the house, but are never allowed in the guest room. The dogs are a retired Arctic sled dog team. They will "sing" in the morning. We do have one more bedroom, if you have a group of 4 people. The cost for that room would be the same a your's.
The nearby town of Cheticamp offers restaurants, whale watching tours, grocery, pharmacy as well as many other services.
  • Lovely location. Amazing breakfast. Very welcoming

  • You will be treated as special guests from the moment you arrive at Carol and Bill’s. The location is idyllic with the coastal and mountain views greeting you through the vast chalet windows. The art work and photography can keep you busy enjoying each item as you sip your morning coffee. Carol loves to feed you so expect a lovely selection of breakfast foods. We will stay here again for sure!

  • We had a great stay. The room and bathroom were very comfortable. Carol and Bill also gave us a few very useful tips. And because of the bad weather we were welcomed earlier which was really thoughtful.

    Amber2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best AirBnbs I have stayed at! Carol and Bill are incredible hosts - great communication, a warm welcome, excellent local tips, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. They take their time to get to know their guests, and really do go above and beyond. Their place feels like home and is perfectly situated for easy access to the national park (less than five minutes away). Can't recommend enough!

    Laura2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time with Carol and her husband. Such great and social hosts. We felt welcomed and well taken care of. Totally recommend this stay.

    Kelsey2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Carol's and Bill's place. It's beautifully situated at the foot of the national park and has an amazing feel. All the animals on property are friendly and sweet. Carol made us a very nice breakfast and since it was my birthday weekend she even shared some of her cupcakes. It was a nice treat and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Just off the Cabot Trail, this small traditional acadian-style home is a cozy retreat if you are looking to explore the National Park and its hiking trails or shoot a round of golf at Le Portage Golf Course. You will be a 15 minute walk down the road to the ocean and the Buttereau swimming spot. Also, treat yourself to some local baked goods from Aucoin's Bakery which is just a hop, skip and jump away. There is an apple tree just behind the shed, so if in season, please help yourself!
One bedroom in this home is on the main level and the other bedroom is a loft style room on the second floor, accessible by stairs. The upper loft bedroom has a small balcony where you can enjoy a glimpse of the ocean and watch the sunset at the end of the day.
  • Great location. Close to the water, stores and some amazing hikes

    Greg2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth and Dan's place was so awesome. So stylish, clean and perfectly filled with everything you could need or want. The location is beyond perfect, being just minutes away from the National Park and Gypsum Mine, and 40 mins from Inverness and Egypt Falls, we took full advantage of the proximity to all these amazing adventures. Their little personal touches throughout the house, from extra blankets, books and DVD's, a guidebook of local things to do and see to a bottle of wine for incoming guests made the experience that much more welcoming!

    Kaitlyn2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very clean and cozy on some cool windy nights. During the off-season it is in a great location to set out exploring the Cabot trail, and at least near a few open businesses/restaurants (there aren’t many around in Nov). We enjoyed it and would come back or recommend to others.

    Eamonn2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth & Dan's BnB is a cozy BnB with lots of nice little touches to make your stay feel all that more like home! They are very friendly hosts and quick to respond to any and all questions you might have. With loads of pamphlets and books in the BnB to get a many ideas of things to see and do in and around Petit Etang, and Cape Breton in general. I would definitely recommend Ruth and Dan's BnB for your stay in Petit Etang!

    Nicholas2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and sweet property. It was fab having a dishwasher!

    Angeline2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth and Dan’s place is the perfect stay while visiting Cape Breton National park, close to a great bakery, many great hiking trails and restaurants in the area.

This home features 3 bdrms upstairs & with the main bdrm downstairs. It has only one bathroom which is on the main floor. It is situated on a quiet main road, only 500m(5mins walk) from the beach where you can watch the sunsets. House is only 7mins to the National Park as well as 7mins to the town of Cheticamp.
Welcome to the Whispering Ocean, where you can hear the ocean waves in the silence of the evening while enjoying time on the deck. This is an older home that has been well up kept. The home features wireless internet and Shaw Satellite TV. It has a spacious kitchen with amenities such as coffee maker, microwave and cordless kettle. Upstairs we have a little craft corner where you can choose to color, use a chalk board or even better-paint rocks. You'll find a few painted rocks throughout the house. We also have a small firepit at the back of the property and the patio at the front of the house has camping chairs and a propane BBQ.
The house is located only about 4-5 minutes walk to the ocean. Just follow the road to the end and you can watch sunsets go down into the ocean. As well, if you take the dirt road that is next to the home and drive a few minutes to the end, you'll also get to the ocean with a lake on the opposite side where you can choose to swim in the ocean or fresh water.
  • A great, quiet place with optimal location near restaurants and groceries. The space itself was cozy and comfortable. I look forward to my next stay in Cheticamp.

  • A great little place for our group of four women to go back to each day after hiking the trails of the Cape Breton Highlands Ntl Park, a short distance away!

    Jovette2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • “The Whispering Ocean” was such a lovely place to stay during our trip to Cape Breton! There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with a little corner for you to paint rocks that you picked up at the beach or they have some available for you.And one bedroom downstairs and one washroom. It is so close to the beach but unfortunately we were not able to enjoy because of the weather but the bonus part about it was that it is SO close to the entrance of the Cape Breton National Park. Tammy has all the amenities you need. We ended up cooking dinner and breakfast but didn’t have everything such as cooking oil and salt but she had those in the cupboards! Also there is a bakery down the street about 15 mins walk or 3 mins drive that have such amazing cheese croissants! Thanks again Tammy for your hospitality. Would definitely return and recommend to our family and friends!

This is a rustic 3 bedroom old house, approx. 120 years old, on a 2 acre lot with an orchard of cherry and pear trees. The bathroom only has a bathtub, however, guests are welcomed to use the shower on the first floor. Lots of room to run and play! 2 rooms have double beds, 1 room single bed.
There is absolutely no noise. You might hear the wind through the trees, but nothing else! Up a hill, so you would need a car to get around town!
there are Cherry, Pear, Plum and Apple trees on our land! which ever fruit is ready during your visit, we will share!

We got a lot of tips for our hiking-tours, Dianne showed us her town on a private tour and we had lots of interesting and funny conversations with them. We would definitely come back!

Enjoy your coffee from the deck before you begin your adventure exploring the breathtaking Cabot Trail. The gateway to the park is 5km. away! Walking distance to great eateries and entertainment. Unwind with the beautiful sunsets right in the backyard.
Welcome ! We have put our hearts and souls into our retirement home. Our space is our little piece of paradise both inside and out. The views still take our breath away and we love the comfy welcoming interior we have created. There is a great flow to to the house with easy access to both the front and back. There are windows along the ocean side of the house so the view is great from all rooms as well as a beautiful view of the mountains from the picture window in the front of the house. We hope you enjoy our space as much as we do.
Our location has so much to offer. The adventures that await you are endless!
  • Great place ! Fun the walk to get food ( L’abri was delicious) or listen to music.

  • A really great place to stay while exploring the national park. Cupboards and fridge well stocked with spices, flour etc, which made such a difference to our trip - it's so nice to have that little bit of flour or seasoning to help cook up a good meal. It was great to sit out on the deck and watch the sun go down. Great location, and we felt well looked after.

  • What an amazing time! Karen and Mark stocked the house with everything we could have possibly needed to make it a great stay! The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and the views were spectacular!

  • Karen and Mark's place was perfect. Its located right on the bay (you get to see the sunset every night on the back deck! This was our favorite part). Check-in was instant. They provided a whole binder full of local recommendations/information. It's a great home full of amenities (coffee maker, chromecast, scrabble). its located 5 minutes from the park entrance. Their response time was about 2 minutes and that was at midnight. Really couldnt choose a better place/host in cheticamp. Thanks guys!

  • We loved our stay here! We really enjoyed the area and how close it was to the cape breton national park. We looved the patio and views and really appreciated having local menus and pamplets. The washer and dryer was very much appreciated. Karen was quick to respond and access was easy. The place was cute and very clean. Would definitely recommend!

    Lauren2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Their home is perfect. They thought of everything you could possibly use. We left with the views from the back porch embedded in our minds. Until next time....

  • This beautifully decorated home was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. All the thoughtful touches made it feel warm and welcoming. Very close to Cape Breton National Park. Lots of local seafood available. And watching the sunsets over the water from the large deck was a spectacular event every evening.

  • This cottage was fantastic! The location was amazing and Colin is a great communicator and was ready to help if we ever needed anything! The cottage was so clean and the beds were super comfortable, the only downside was that there wasn't quite enough couch space for four adults, but everything else was fantastic!

Recently renovated 3 bedroom home, with a beautiful waterfront view. Perfect for 2 couples who want their privacy since the basement can be seperated from the rest of the house. There's a picnic table and a bbq on the deck and a fire pit near the water across the street for outside enjoyment. I'm still doing tweaks to the yard, should look even better in the spring.
It's close to the water, close enough that your can cross the street with a kayak and a SUP and use them in the harbour, as long that you sign a waiver at arrival, there's 6 kayaks and 4 SUP that you can use
What makes this neighbourhood great also, is that it is out of town, but also really close to town
  • Beautiful spot, very clean! We all enjoyed our stay! Gaétan was very helpful and easy to deal with!

  • Roland's place is in the centre of Cheticamp. We stayed two nights in early August 2019. I loved the porch overlooking the main road, the boardwalk and harbour. We were four women friends and really appreciated the four bedrooms and two bathrooms. We had everything we needed. Roland gave us the heads up on where to pick up lobsters, and the goods on the local bakery. I passed on the lobster and went for the chicken and pork pie at the bakery. Highly recommended.

Our house on top of the hill, away from the road, very peaceful! great place to relax and enjoy the wilderness. Free WiFi, washer and dryer available, clean towels and linens. Our home is over 120 years old. Well kept, some renovations will be done within the year! The beds are very comfortable. Continental breakfast included!
Very quiet area, you might hear birds and the wind through the trees! Many fruit trees to pick from when in bloom. This room has a single bed.
It's the country life! We have 1 neighbor close by but we are still close to the village of Cheticamp and the Cabot Trail!
  • Dianne and Blaire are very kind and hospitable people and made me feel at home and comfortable during my stay. They provided local tips and the complimentary breakfast was a nice way to start the day. The location is really great for those wanting to explore Cape Breton Highlands National Park, as it is only about 5 minutes from the entrance. I found my bed on the firm side but all in all I had a great three days at their place.

Come enjoy your stay in beautiful Cheticamp, part of the famous Cabot Trail. My 4 bedroom home is located in the middle of town. The perfect location. Walking distance to many destinations and along side the Cheticamp harbour. There is a fire pit in the back yard with a view of the harbour. Enjoy a beverage sitting by the fire and later take a stroll to local pubs/restaurants for live music and delicious meals.
If guests need extra amenities, including paper towel, toilet paper, etc. We ask that you contact the host and we will provide you this what you require, as soon as possible. The wifi password will be available at the house. Also, I ask guests to be respectful and keep it tidy. Before check-out, if beds used by guests could be stripped and all linen be placed in the laundry basket. Multiple dvd's are available, along with a DVD player. No cable. For heat and air-conditioning. There is a heat pump, remote will be located in the kitchen. A baby stow away crib is available for small children. Chairs for the campfire are hanging in the porch. Chairs for the front step are stacked in the porch. A hose will be available for fires. Guests can buy fire wood from cheticamp beach or the corner stores. At times, wood will be available to buy at the house.
Friendly neighbours. Try to keep noise level to a minimum after 1030pm, respectfully!
  • Lots of room. A clean cottage. Very eclectic decor. Overall, a comfortable, good value. If arriving in two cars, parking is manageable, but slightly tight. The benefit of the parking, however, is that the car(s) are parked directly in front of the front porch. Easy to load and unload for your Cheticamp stay.

    Yolanda2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house for visiting Cape Breton. It is very close to the National Park, which is stunning, and walkable to many bars and restaurants in Cheticamp. We had a group of six including four older teens and there was plenty of room for everyone. The house is much nicer than the photos and was well stocked with coffee and other amenities. Finally, Laurette was a great host and very easy to work with. We highly recommend the Pear Tree House.

    Tom2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great clean functional space Close (walking distance to most things in town) Nice view of the harbour and island Fire pit out back by the harbour is a nice feature as is the front veranda

    Andre2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • You want to see what the Cabot Trail has, then stay at Laurettes house. Your in walking distance to a bank, 2 restaurants and a pharmacy. The back yard you can sit by the fire ring watch bald eagles and boats go out to the Atlantic Ocean ! Your 5 miles from Cape Brentons National Park. The Cabot Trail STARTS at Cheticamp Northwatd to Ingnonish. The Sothern parts of the trail are not as exciting as the Norths.

  • Perfect location in Cheticamp. We needed to be close to the arena in order to check on my dog between games. Host were very accommodating with our needs. Unit 2 is small but the perfect size for 2 adults and 1 child. Everything we needed was there. Even some treats for my pup :). My son loved it and said he wanted to come back on our next trip. Great host and great communication. Will be booking again for future visits.

  • Lovely place to stay near the highlands. My friends and I loved how cozy the space was and they accommodated my dog and even had dog food in the apartment! As well as lots of other amenities. Very hospitable host who fixed an issue with our stovetop immediately for our dinner. Would stay again!

    Yasmeen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and welcoming. Excellent communication with hostess. Very well located, with delicious pizza just across the street. Not noise proof, but that was not a problem. The double bed in one unit was not firm enough for me, and the hostess proposed another unit. French and English, which I appreciated.

Enjoy this bright and airy traditional century home, minutes from the beach. Small but spacious, this home sits just minutes away - even by walking - from the western entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the ever-popular Aucoin Bakery, and the larger town of Cheticamp. A short walk from both the beach and river, this house is a place to unwind and relax. And don't forget to bring your dogs! We are pet friendly++, with a large fenced-in side yard for your canine friends.
I welcome everyone, but must stress that, if you have a dog allergy or are offended by the thought of a random dog hair or two popping up in a corner, you may want to keep searching for a place to stay (there are so many wonderful options in this area that may better suit you). While the house is very clean, I ask visitors to understand that dogs can make life a little unpredictable sometimes. Also, blankets and dedicated dog towels are provided to protect furniture, etc. While I do have a side yard for those who, like me, bring their friends along on their travels, I cannot be held responsible for pets who get loose. While the fence has proven safe for my Golden, a smaller dog may slip through. It will be the responsibility of any visiting pet guardians to ensure that the fence is safe for their own canine, and that the gates are securely closed at all times. I have listed the house as unsuitable for infants and children because the stairs to the loft are steep and the overall lay out not as safe as some may want or expect. There are NO CHILD safety measures (gates, cupboard lock etc.) taken in this home. Given the age of the home, and the fact that it was built to withstand the infamous Les Suetes winds, the house is built with a few quirky angles and slopes. If you're tall, you may find yourself having to duck in a few areas - one bonus, however, is that you'll probably never be called upon to do dishes!
The beach! just down the road, or you can take the wee path right across the road. Even at a slow stroll, you'll be there in no time. Aucoin's Bakery...you can walk down for a fresh loaf a bread! The Groom Room and Kennels is just down the road. Close to the western entrance of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. An hour away from Inverness - sea glass hunting and golf!
  • Absolutely wonderful stay. My husband and I were absolutely amazed at how cozy and warm this place was. Great restaurants locally and an amazing bakery down the street. Plus a beach just a min down the road to take great photos, relax and enjoy life. So thankful for this stay

    Sarah2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at her place! It was very clean and had everything you would need to have a great stay! Perfectly located in between the Cabot trail and chedicamp. The beach is a five min walk and breath taking views of the highlands. Definitely recommend staying there... we definitely plan on returning in the future.

  • We spent 2 nights in this Airbnb and it was a great experience! The house is clean with a really functional kitchen. The location is perfect for people who want to visit Cape Breton Park. Brenda & Tammy are really very accomodating and the communication is very easy. I highly recommend.

    Marine2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tammy was very helpful and provided timely information prior to our check-in. The place was conveniently located near cafe, restaurant, trails, etc. It was a great stay.

    Rubaiyat2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Tammy’s home was absolutely lovely. It has the most charming exterior and we adored the cute nautical decor throughout the house. It is a very well maintained property that is super clean and we appreciated all the amenities. One of the highlights about this place is the location. It is very close to Skyline trail and many trails, so you will have plenty to do and explore. Just down the street is a beach where you can watch the sunset and the mountains in the distance! A great place to stay in Cape Breton!

    Diana2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really didn’t know what to expect staying in someone’s home. From the moment we saw the house I thought how cozy even on the outside. We thought it would feel strange being in another’s place but instead we felt at home right away. The house is very clean with lots of thoughtful amenities. The beach theme was very quaint, and suited the house. Can’t wait to come back next year. The only disappointment was not meeting the dog.lol. We cooked bacon hoping he would show. We highly recommend this home. Thank you Tammy and Brenda! We will be back! Juanita and Billy Joe

    Jessica2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean and offered all the amenities we could have needed. It is close to the Skyline trail and many Cape Breton sights both north and south on the trail, and easy walking in the village.

    Elizabeth2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We recently stayed at Georgina's house and everything about our visit to Cheticamp was ideal. The best three things about the house is the location as it's in walking distance to all you would need for a vacation. Secondly it is a spacious house that can accommodate large groups of people. Thirdly it has a nice deck that is a great spot to view peer out at the water or to watch a sunset.

  • You start with being right on the Cabot Trail and believe it or not it gets better from there. Georgina's place is cozy and spacious at the same time. You have all you need and a view. Be sure to sit outside and watch the Cheticamp Island cows take a swim. Georgina was very responsive and we had all the info we needed. The fudge was a special treat!! We'd stay again especially with a large group.

  • Cute house, with plenty of room, comfortable beds, and good location. The view from the front is lovely.....great sunsets. The bathrooms are updated and spacious. (One up , one down) There is a Co-op (grocery store) about 1/2 mile south of the house. You can also walk across the road to a short boardwalk, where we saw lots of jellyfish in the water. As a special treat, when we were packing to leave, we saw an eagle flying, and swoop in the water and catch his breakfast. Keurig coffee pot, and also a drip, which we preferred. Some traffic noise, when sitting on the deck, or living room, but bedrooms are in the back of the house and basement, so not a problem for us. I would recommend this home!

    Anna2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We spent four wonderful days at Martin’s stunning home. The house is beautiful - tastefully decorated, with high-end appliances and fixtures, and spectacular views. The bed is extremely comfortable. The weather was stormy for two of our days, and we could not have had a better setting to curl up, relax, and watch the surf and rain in front of the fireplace. Martin is a terrific host - very helpful and fast to reply. We would love to come back!

    Wendy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous house in perfect location at the entrance of Cape Bretton National Park and on a cliff overlooking the sea. Very easy to get in and out of the house. Very clean.

    Leonard2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely beautiful home in a great location. Having coffee every morning overlooking our private oceanfront was spectacular. Usually rentals do not meet expectations, this was as nice as advertised.

    Melissa2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was incredible-- amazing views, great privacy, beautiful modern house. Comfortable bed where you could feel like you're outside while in bed. Great kitchen to enjoy cooking in. Best view for some great sunsets. Our only complaint was with water issue for the price of the stay. The well water was not drinkable so we had to buy drinking water and the tub (though gorgeous) was not quite enjoyable because of the brown water. The host was up front with us about this prior to our arrival, and it sounds like he's working on getting it all taken care of, so I'm sure once this one issue is resolved, this will be a five-star place all around.

    Ben2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Martin’s place is a quiet, clean, spacious and calming place. The viewing is incredible. Martin was very nice and easy to talk. I would definitely come again!

While still a work in progress,MacGregor House has under gone extensive renovations. Minutes from all amenities, it's the perfect location. Relax, and let the ocean breeze soothe your soul as you bask in the warmth of this Acadian village.
Our home is centrally located on the main road of the spectacular Cabot Trail with a glorious view of the ocean from across the way. Located just across the street from the ocean, barely a stones throw away, you can smell the salt water and feel the ocean breeze on your face as you sip your morning coffee while watching the lobster boats haul their traps just off shore. The views are particularly striking at sunset when the light shimmers gold on the water. Look behind you and all you see are miles and miles of mountains. Our home-town truly is a magical place. Our house is almost a century old, newly renovated, it has three bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, a large kitchen, dining room and living room on the first floor, as well as a full laundry room and mud room (yet to be renovated). Decks on both front (ocean view) and back of the house (mountains and afternoon shade). It is also equipped with appliances, including washer and dryer, flat screen TV, and all the necessities of home. We are just a short walk to town (5 minutes), Le Portage golf course is practically in our back yard, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a 5 minute drive.
    |Our property is located in the quaint acadian fishing village of Cheticamp and only a short drive to the world renowned Margaree River on one side, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the village of Pleasant Bay on the other. Travel and Leisure magazine named Cape Breton the third best island to visit in the world. The island culture commingles Scottish, Acadian, Irish, African, and native Mi’kmaq influences and is fueled by Celtic style music. Alexander Graham Bell said it best, “I have traveled the globe. I have seen the Canadian and American Rockies, the Andes and the Alps and the highlands of Scotland, but for simple beauty, Cape Breton out-rivals them all.”
  • Cozy house with many updates. Large bright kitchen. Convenient to amenities in Chéticamp (including a great coffee place two minutes away) and to the national park. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the warm afternoons and evenings (this was late August).

    Fred2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jeannie's house is a splendid base for a Cabot Trail vacation. Impeccably clean. Comfortable living quarters. A stones-throw from Cheticamp's amenities and a short drive to the national park. Great local music at the Doryman. Check out Nicole's lessons in square dancing and wooden spoon playing. Joyous! We highly recommend it. Peter

    Peter2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Jeannie’s place if you ever make the trip to Cape Breton! Location is ideal and the space is perfect for a mid-size group looking to explore. Response times were great and accommodations were even better. Thanks a ton.

  • Jeannie's house is a great place to stay for everybody who's visiting Cape Breton. It's only 5 min away from Highlands National park. House is freshly renovated and spacious. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We had everything we needed. Much recomended.

  • A very pleasant living space that’s great for large groups. The kitchen is well laid out and good to cook in. The location was a great base for hiking and exploring the highlands.

  • Centrally located, great view. The home was clean and lots of room. Beds were comfy.

    Natalie2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful warm home right on the cabot trail absolutely stocked with anything you may need. Mostly renovated with some older areas, but all very clean and well kept. A great view of the ocean across the street. The trail is a main road so there is lots of traffic and noise. Groceries and amazing bakeries and local artisans and lookouts all a ten min drive away. Wish we had booked it longer!

    Sara2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cute spot very close to town! Very clean and spacious, no complaints about anything. It's a great stop on the way through the Cabot trail, highly recommended!

This two bedroom harbourfront townhouse is eclectic and fun! You are within walking distance to almost every business in Cheticamp and only 10 minutes from the National Park and 20 minutes from the Skyline Trail. The upper bedrooms are newly renovated with beautiful furniture but the bathroom (with double jacuzzi tub) is on the main level. Its an amazing spot to see the harbour bustling birds, fishing and tour boats , sunsets and Cape Breton weather! Decks on the front and the back! BBQ
The place is unique because it has its own harbour front beach. Most of the other harbour front properties have boardwalks, wharves, natural boundaries, etc. The house is uniquely decorated to incorporate some old, eclectic and modern styles. It is a work in progress but it is also a place filled with 100 years of history and local culture. It is exactly 1/2 through Cheticamp. A perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, working or out having fun.
Cheticamp is bilingual but it sees itself more as a French Community. It has an amazing Arts program that is evolving and changing to incorporate tourism during the summer months.
  • We stayed at Anna's for two nights, while we were visiting Cape Breton for the first time! 4 of us fit very comfortably in this clean home. The living room was very homey feeling, the wifi signal was strong, the kitchen fit 4 adults fine, and the beds in the rooms were comfortable as well! The location is great, near restaurant options and the Cape Breton national park itself. Thanks for hosting us!

  • We stayed here as a place to base ourselves for exploring the Cabot Trail but the village of Chéticamp became the highlight. This is a wonderful Acadian town with the FRIENDLIEST people I’ve ever encountered. If you can, slow down and spend some time in Chéticamp. Be willing to engage in conversation with the people you meet on the street and in shops because they will be happy to talk with you. You don’t even get the feeling that you’re an annoying tourist. They are just happy to see you. As for Anne’s place... it’s in a lovely location. You can look out the window at the lighthouse and dock. There is a boardwalk right there. This town is strung out along the shore and you’re right about in the middle of it. There is a deck where you can enjoy the water and sounds of the ocean. We wish we had stayed here longer. We did also venture into the National Park which was pretty awesome but we reduced our time spent driving the Cabot Trail so we could spend more time hanging around Chéticamp.

    Evan2019-08-29T00:00:00Z

Angel's View sits 30 feet above the Cheticamp River providing a panoramic view of the Highland National Park. The 10 foot bay window allows this awesome view from inside the cabin too! Furnishings are updated and comfy to ensure your stay is memorable.
This is our summer hide out but we love the idea of sharing it with guest when we are away. Sitting 300 feet off the road and adjacent to a labyrinth of trails along the river and forest allows for soft adventure with the charming community of Cheticamp five minutes away. The cabin has all the comforts you will need to relax with your favorite beverage or book. There is satellite TV to keep you informed or catch your favorite show. The kitchen has all major appliances and full view of the river and mountains of Highland National Park. The bedrooms are a queen room and a single room with two beds, however one bed is only suitable for person less than 5'3". Fine for a short adult or a child. The yard has a picnic table, Grill, Swing seats, benches and chairs. In the shed is rubber boots, paddles for the canoe, life jackets and stored seating. This location is a days trip to all places in Cape breton so no need to pack up and move to visit Margaree, Ingonish, Baddeck, or Sydney. We drive to Ingonish for lunch or dinner several times a week. It is an excellent way to look for moose and bears too. But often we have moose hanging out in the river. The eagle is sitting on the river as I write this. There is a wonderful fire pit and plenty of manicured ground for star gazing. We keep a canoe on the river for paddling to the beach just a few blocks down stream.
  • Perfect set up with a perfect view. Minutes from the highlands national park and town (Cheticamp) but far enough to still "get away"

  • Do yourself a favor and stay at this lovely cabin with the best view of Cape Breton National Park. If you love nature and privacy this is for you.

  • Angel's View truly lives up to its name. This is a cozy and comfortable little cottage with a panoramic view of the river and surrounding countryside. It's a great place to scan for wildlife - I enjoyed sitting in the window seat with my binoculars ready. It is close to the Cape Breton Park entrance and just a short drive to Cheticamps. We wish we could have stayed longer.

    Marilyn2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The view from Angel's View is absolutely incredible. The location is perfect - 5 min from Cheticamp and from Highlands National Park, which has several gorgeous walks within 30 minutes of the park gates. But there are also lovely walks straight from the cabin! The house is cozy and was perfect for us with our little 9 month old. Jaqui went above and beyond to make us comfortable and see that we had everything we needed. And the caretakers, Richard and Linda, are wonderfully generous and kind people. We miss it already!

    Megan2018-09-21T00:00:00Z

  • We cannot speak highly enough of this experience and the hospitality. Wonderful hosts, in a nice convenient space. However if you want non-main road peace and quiet, Grand Staff Maison is a little too main road. Starts at 6:30am. But only 'main road' in a quiet out-of-the-way sort of way. But they provided what we once experienced as a real hosting experience by real locals. Airbnb isn't really like that in a lot of situations these days is it? But this Blair and Dianne are the real Acadian McCoy (if one can say that sort of thing). A great experience, well planned, thoughtful and responsive. Thanks so much, twice over.

Our home is over 120 years old. It has been well kept, but some renovations will be done within the year. (especially the bathrooms) we have 3 rooms for rent. The decor of this bedroom describes The Acadian Flag and its colors. The other room describes Cape Breton and the room with a single bed is decorated for bikers! Breakfast is included!
We have 2 acres of land with many fruit trees! A nice fire pit that can be used on nice summer evenings!
The house is situated on top of a hill so we can only see 1 neighbor. However, we are close to the village, restaurants, the Cabot Trail, beaches and many hiking trails!
  • A very friendly welcome and a room and a lunch perfectly adapted to our needs! I recommend stopping at Cheticamp.

  • We visited Chéticamp to attend Hike NS Guided Hikes during the Celtic Colours festival. Dianne's & Blair's house is just 7 minutes from the park entrance. After the hikes, my son and I played board games at the kitchen table. We cooked our own supper - everything is in the kitchen to do so! Thanks so much for the lovely stay, Dianne & Blair! We loved your cozy home and your hospitality is outstanding. Thanks so much for the tour to the Island, Dianne! That was a very special experience! Merci beaucoup Dianne & Blair!

  • The house is a bit far from the town and it is very convenient to drive. The house is old, but the bathroom is new and clean. Dianne and Blair are very enthusiastic, providing all the services they need, helping to understand the whale watching arrangements, and chatting with them is very happy. The landlord offers breakfast and is very caring.

Here is a little piece of paradise. The house is on a private lot looking out at the ocean. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute walk to the Cheticamp River. Relax on the deck while watching the sun set on the ocean.
This beautiful house has a fully renovated kitchen that opens up to the dining and living area. The house's second level occupies 2 bedrooms and the main bath. The master bedroom includes a double size bed. The second bedroom has 2 single beds. The day bed in the living area could serve as sleeping arrangements for 2 people. The wrap around deck gives you the luxury of putting your feet up and simply enjoying the view.
Cheticamp is a small acadian village situated on the Cabot Trail. The locals are friendly and are always willing to help you guide you during your stay. Make sure to eat the local lobsters and crab that are fished a couple of km away from where you are staying. We also offer guided fly fishing.

  • Great location at the North of Cape Breton, right off the Cabot Trail. Easy access to attractions on the East and West portions of the trail (Skyline Trail, Ingonish beach, whale watching) with a gas station and grocery store close by. Nice quiet area backing into an inlet where fishing boats are docked. We could see a lot of stars at night! The place was just as described on the listing but even more spacious. Very clean with a well equipped kitchen (plenty of pots and pans and cutlery) and the washer and dryer are large capacity and very new. However, what our family appreciated most was the quality of the mattresses and pillows. No back pain and very soft and comfortable! Super responsive hosts to questions and we thank them for allowing our dogs to stay!

  • The guest house is great. The area had a lot of mosquitoes at night so take bug spray. The local shop closes at 8 pm but they stock most things needed for food and other stuff. The guest house overlooks the water and is a beautiful place. The guest house was very clean. The TV was nice after a long day. Wi-Fi would be a plus but we spent quality time with one another without Wi-Fi. Other guests have mentioned screens on the windows which would be nice. Overall experience: we loved it and we would come again.

  • Great location. Huge house. Lots of washrooms and showers. Tons of parking. Good grocery store 5 minutes away. Mussels seller 5 minutes away. Oyster farmer/retailer/restaurant 10 minutes away. Gas station with milk and eggs very close. Washer and dryer is nice. Some bedrooms are hot in hot weather. Part of house is air conditioned. Beach and nice restaurant 2 minutes away at Markwell Resort. Diner across the street.

  • Great location for travelling the Cabot trail. Location also has gas station and small grocery store near by. It was also great that we were surrounded by many wharfs and able to buy so much lobster for cheap ($7 per pound and a can choose your own lobster). Having a BBQ was really nice. The house condition itself was decent, just what to expect for the decent price. The biggest complaint was there's no window screens in the bedrooms. It got warm inside but we were afraid to leave the windows open due to lots of bugs and muquitoes. We knew there wasn't air conditioner in the house so that was fine. Otherwise, house was worth renting and host was easy to get in touch with. But please put in bedroom window screens or at least describe it in he ad. I gave 5 stars as we still had a great time there.

  • The location is great. It's only a few minutes walking to the beautiful beach. And the house is right in front of the water too. And house ismtself is huge. It's really spacious. Every bedroom has its own full bathroom. I really loved it.
