“Impero Lounge is right on the High Street in the heart of Portishead. We’re on a corner with huge floor to ceiling windows (that open right up) wrapped around two sides, flooding the interiors with light. There’s a lovely terrace out the front too, perfect for watching the world go by. We’ve a fantastic range of food and drinks (including full kids, gluten free and vegan menus) served in this relaxed, welcoming, space. Look out for our mural celebrating Portishead’s old power station and lighthouse. Which is apt, as we’re a bit of a powerhouse and a shining beacon for the hungry and thirsty people of Portishead. Sorry. What is it that people love best about Lounging? Is it the food? The cocktails? Our lovely staff? Or the photo of the old boy on an airbed in his pants? Let’s see, shall we?”

“Local businessman and wine enthusiast Mike Yeatman and his wife Chris opened a new tapas restaurant in Portishead in October 2013. The opening of Venga was the culmination of months of hard work transforming the former cafe at 24 the High Street. The opening of Venga was the realisation of a dream that Mike and Chris had been considering for a number of years. The idea was first conceived during the couple’s travels they have drawn on many influences for the menu; from Barcelona, Madrid and Granada. Both share a passion for Mediterranean food and regularly prepare tapas and cater for large groups for Wine Friends a local outdoor activity company. The couple’s meeting and marriage has extended their passion for both food and wine. They are united in a desire to eat well, eat varied and travel hydrated by the local wines wherever they can.”

“Our passion for food stems from our heritage and homeland Sorrento, Italy. This small town along the costal line of the Amalfi is notoriously known for its mouth-watering dishes. After living and working in Sorrento for many years we are proud to share our experiences and infuse our dishes with southern Italian undertones. Our philosophy is simple, we believe that food only tastes great when it is locally sourced, fresh, delivered daily and made by people who know how to cook. We would expect nothing less if we went to a restaurant to eat. That is why we practice this every day at La Marina as we want our customers to relish every bite.”

“Call and pick up a proper italian take away pizza. Two minute walk from the church. Personally I think the restaurant lacks proper trattoria atmosphere, but the take out pizzas are the bomb.”
