  • We had such a great time at David’s. He and his family were so accommodating and helpful. My two kids, 2 and 5 loved the little house in the garden, they often didn’t want to leave the property to go and explore elsewhere! The fire pit was a wonderful touch and a safe teaching tool for my 5 year old. We will definitely find out way back here!

  • This is a very comfortable cottage in an excellent location, near Downtown and the wonderful Botanical gardens. It is well equipped and quiet. We would definitely stay there again.

  • What a great trip and David and his home was a big part of that. Great for location so much to do and see and do and so many beaches so close plus great for our dogs. There was plenty of room for them to roam. We had an 11 day stay and this was the place for that, very comfortable, clean, helpful and a great price. Will visit here again, David and his parents were wonderful to us and the “kids”. Thanks Wayne and Robin

  • Had a lovely stay here with our son and two dogs. Comfortable and easygoing atmosphere , we all relaxed and slept well. Nice outdoor seating area and well heated and insulated, very cozy. Easy to get to Fort Bragg and the Mendo Botanical Garden, appreciated that convenience . We would definitely stay there again.

  • The Garden Home is amazing. Great, quiet location, off the road and surrounded by gardens and hedges and birds. Recently constructed, everything is brand new, and the cabin is very well designed. We especially loved the covered deck, the well appointed kitchen, the comfy bed, and the walk in shower. Hope to be back soon!

  • Rick and Jeanne are so sweet and their place is lovely! My husband and I were passing through on a west coast road trip and it was the perfect place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. As everyone else mentioned, the coffee and danishes in the morning were an extra bonus! Highly recommend staying here.

    Kayley2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place is wonderful! Rick and Jeanne are very sweet and caring about their guests :) definitely coming back here.

  • This was our *third* stay and I'm just leaving this brief review to say once again, we had a wonderful time. Rick and Jeanne are the kindest people who put their hearts into this place. They always make us feel so at home. You absolutely won't regret staying here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend!

    Antoinette2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Westport Inn was a wonderful place to stay! Our room had a little attached room with a fridge and microwave and kitchen table, which was very nice, and Rick and Jeanne's hospitality was boundless. The room had a little bookshelf and DVD rack stocked with entertainment for everyone, and they were quick to greet us and give us travel recommendations. Truly a gem of a place!

  • Second time staying here and still impressed. It’s a lovely space in an amazing location—worth the stop.

    Amanda2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a special stay at the edge of civilization! The place was cozy and well furnished, plenty of space, and the tasty breakfast tray was a pleasant way to begin the morning. The power went out across town due to a storm and Rick and Jeanne were quick to update us of the conditions during our day outing, even offering us a refund when the power didn’t return. No fault of theirs! Rick and Jeanne’s hospitality and comfortable setting will be a place we return to again!

    Kai2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Jeanne are Uber Hosts and I recommend their lovely bungalow along the coast. It was such a wonderful experience meeting both of them. On the day of our check in, there was a vehicle collision that knocked down a power pole and disrupted electrical service for the region. Rick and Jeanne kept us informed about the restoration of power throughout the day and offered a full refund if we decided not to stay the night. My wife and I decided to stay anyway. When we arrived in the evening Rick set out LED lanterns inside the room for us. The electricity came on soon after and off to sleep we went. In morning our hosts brought out delicious coffee from Longbottom Coffee from Oregon and we set off on our next leg our road trip. We can’t wait to come back to the area; there’s so much to left to explore.

  • The Westport Inn is such a hidden treat. The town of Westport is very peaceful and Rick and Jeanne were very friendly. They even have two gorgeous and friendly golden retrievers. I would highly recommend this for a getaway!

A roadside attraction without the distraction. A car goes by, a bicyclist or walker passes, swallows dip and dart. This circa 1890s former blacksmith shop is twenty feet to the peaceful Pacific Coast Highway, and a quick walk to a secluded beach. Westport boomed in 1878 and was the largest town north of San Francisco, but truth be told, not much happens here any more. Open and airy and cozy and happy, packed with strange and varied art work. Enjoy cooking and napping, reading or staring, and the endless changing Pacific off the deck. Writers, escapists, and creative types will appreciate the solitude of the detached artist studio. One bedroom is cozy and dark, the other bright, with a view to the ocean and a loaded bookshelf. The kitchen has a 4 burner gas range/oven and coffee maker. The living area has a long table for a gourmet spread or a project. Bath with shower, washer and dryer, and the Lost Coast's largest collection of those plaster fish. Watch a DVD or listen to music. Play a game. Be inspired. Soak in the hot tub or just sit on the porch in comfortable adarondack chairs. Outside you will find a 100 square foot artist studio with another large deck. There is a writing desk inside and a stereo system for ipod/computer hookup with two indoor speakers. Great space to do some morning yoga or painting. There is also a very comfortable oversized chair that converts to a twin size sleeper bed. Extra sheets/blankets are next to the sofa sleeper. You will also find a charcoal grill outside. There sandy beaches just a block away and down the bluffs to stairs. All the nearby beaches are dog friendly too and pets are welcome in my home. Buy local! The Westport General store sells beer and staples and makes great organic sandwiches and pizzas to order. The Westport Hotel and Old Abalone Pub serves dinners on the weekends. Off high-way parking for two cars. Note that the side yard is a sculpture construction site for The Westport Whale, a future roadside attraction. This place has all the basic amenities without the frills. The exterior of the house is almost completely renovated fully restoring it to it's historic state. It is my Dream and my favorite place to be in the whole world. I hope you will enjoy it too.
  • Kyle’s place is SO GREAT! Whimsical, fun, beautiful -everything was really fabulous and exactly as advertised. Plus, there were so many extra touches - games, books, movies, and art supplies. There are lovely neighbors quick to offer friendly advice. The views and beaches are magnificent. We hope to go back again and again!

    Melissa2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. Exactly what I was looking for on my birthday weekend! I can't believe I found someone who has more copies of Moby Dick than I do.

    Emily2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Breath taking views, amazing location , access to private dog friendly beaches walking distance, very quiet town, 20 minute drive to fort bragg, and most importantly Kyle was an amazing super host, and very nice and accommodating. Booked another stay the day I checked out. Dont think just book it!

    Chase2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kyles place was just as expected and more! The whale theme is off the charts! He did such a great job decking the place out. The hot tub was a really great touch too. It’s right in town so you can easily walk to the pub.

    Daniel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a truly magical, special, unforgettable spot! The location is incredible - more-so than words could ever express. And the quirky art was interesting and cool! Thanks for a glorious experience.

    Ally2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned last night from our 2 night stay which was not enough time there :) You MUST come and experience Kyle's Artist's Oceanside House! From the moment you pull into the driveway and walk up the stairs of the deck and see the view of the beautiful Pacific Oean AHHHHH....and then enter the house to find so many things to look at. From books to pictures to art peices...you can spend hours taking it all in. If you enjoy wine tasting please check out the Pacific Star Winery which is about a 10 minute drive. The wine, the view and crash of the waves was breath taking. We just can't say enoguh about Kyle's magical place so you will need to just come and see it for yourself. :)

    Sharon2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very interesting house, plenty of art to keep you busy inside and out. Very nice beaches nearby, great views of the ocean.

    Tom2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was just what we needed, beautiful views, amenities in the kitchen, a hot tub with a view, close to local beaches, and a short drive to fort bragg!!! Loved staying here I would highly recommend it!

This cabin is located on one of Mendocino's most beautiful properties. It is just ten minutes to the coastal town of Mendocino and is on 12 acres of giant redwoods and open meadows. Spend your days at the beach or hiking in the the redwoods! *Please note that the property had unexpected maintenance a few years ago so which is why we had to cancel some reservations and rehome guests in our studio in town
This cabin is located on one of Mendocino's most beautiful properties. It is just ten minutes to the coastal town of Mendocino and is on 12 acres of giant redwoods and open meadows. Spend your days at the beach or hiking in the the redwoods! The cabin is located on 12 acres of old growth redwoods and beautiful open sunny meadows. There is an giant swing just steps from the cabin and hiking trails right off the property. Hot tub, hiking trails, swings, hammock We like to make sure our guests have their privacy. The giant redwoods, the closeness to the ocean. There is a bus between the town of Mendocino and the town of Fort Bragg. Please make sure you use our directions as posted on site, to get here. If you use your GPS it will likely send you the back way which is very windy and although it is a few miles shorter it will actually take you longer to get here.

  • The place is quite quaint, the location is really central and right in the heart of town. We ended at the property given that our previous reservation at one of their other properties got cancelled 2 days before our trip, but with all things considered D&R were accommodating and were able to place us in this place which we ended up liking too! Really easy to access and you can come and go as you place as it has its own separate entrance.

  • A beautiful secluded cabin surrounded by forest. Comfortable and quiet. Highly recommended if you are seeking seclusion yet still very close to the coast and amenities.

    Steven2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect quiet getaway! It's a great place to cozy up and watch movies. My husband and I came here for one of our honeymoon destinations. Unfortunately, we didn't have wifi so we downloaded movies, podcasts, and music while in town to be able to enjoy them at the cabin. This cabin is close to a lot of beautiful, scenic locatiions. We enjoyed good food in Mendocino / Fort Bragg, horse back riding at Ricochet Ridge Ranch, and exploring at Glass Beach. Arrive for your first time during the day if you're scared of the dark like me...

    Brittany2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this rustic cabin!

  • Great place and very nice hosts. Loved our stay. We want to go back again soon.

    Sarah2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, a wonderful experience. The cabin is adorable and on the most beautiful property. It is very comfortable (the electric heater really does it's job). It feels very isolated and secluded all while being just a 10 min drive to town!

    Lucia2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful respite during a particularly hectic time. My dog and I loved staying in this lovely little cabin and the property is stunning. The hot tub was perfect and the view from the hot tub was divine. I would love to return soon! Thank you.

    Cara2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little place! Super quiet and plenty of forrest for the dogs to check out. There isn't a stove so we brought a little backpacking stove and made breakfast at a picnic table out on the property. The heater warmed the place right up and the shower had plenty of hot water. We never got to connect with the hosts, we were out most of the time, but Daphinie made a point to text and see that we were settled in. Easy 10 min. drive into Fort Bragg.

  • Alan’s a great host and wonderful resource for the area. The room was nice and comfortable and I enjoyed the view of the beautiful backyard.

    Susan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Accomodating host and a well maintained place with good proximity to the coast.

    Ishminder2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect stay here! Easy check in and communication, Alan and his wife were very friendly and sweet-wish we could’ve chatted more! The house is large and very beautiful in a pretty neighborhood. It was a quick drive to local bars and restaurants (probably could’ve walked too). Bed was super comfy. The dog was gorgeous but that cat!!! OREO! What a cat. You’ll see.

    Lizi2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Alan’s place was a wonderful stay. I was in a rush to book a place in the Mendocino/Fort Bragg area and ended booking Alan’s listing. The room was very clean and had a very whimsical nature to it. Alan was a great host providing lots of suggestions for places to eat and to see in the area. I ended up using some of the food suggestions and all were great. I wasn’t staying for very long, but for the short time I was staying, I was very comfortable. It’s is also a great value for the wonderful home you get to stay, with the added bonus of a very cute dog. If I ever am back in Fort Bragg, I would choose to come back to Alan’s place again.

    Julia2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely home, and the room was warm with a comfy cozy bed and excellent pillows. Alan was a great host and when I asked for a sunset spot suggestion I was sent to the perfect location (Glass Beach). I definitely recommend, the accommodations and the beach!

Situated in our beautiful garden, this cozy little redwood Shanti cabin is a 30 second walk to the bathroom, 12 minutes from Mendocino village, and other attractions, is equipped with double/full mattress, has electricity, bath towels, small table, two chairs and a oil heater. Self check in, just in case we are out. The Sunlit is directly to the right, enter through the garden gate which is to the west of the parking, you will see the cabin with the purple door. Key is in the cabin.
One of two Shanti cabins situated in our garden; small, cozy and private. This one, beautifully built out of salvaged redwood, is facing south right in to the beautiful garden and has great afternoon sun on the deck. Check-in from 2pm-10pm, check-out 12pm. Self check is sometimes necessary after 10pm.
We're 4 miles inland in the "banana belt" as it's been dubbed. The fog tends to hang just out of reach of this cozy zone.
  • We had a great stay! The property is really close to Mendocino (and only a 20 minute drive to Fort Bragg) and right next to the Pygmy Forest and other hiking trails to the Van Damme State Park. The garden makes it feel very magical. Just a quick note- you will loose cell reception and wifi access when you drive in to Little River. They have wifi at the main house if you do need to use it, but make sure you have all your maps and things ready before you turn into the property! Thanks again to our hosts for sharing their space!

    Karen2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very cute- on a property with other little cottages. Steve the host is great. Bed was one of the best sleeps I’ve had. Just an FYI, the bathrooms are detached from the sleep space but we didn’t mind- the whole little farm is pretty magical

    Lauren2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Down to earth home and dude. Such care put into all of the aspects of home. Steve's hands went into a look of the work in the Shanti and it is clear to see he is a thoughtful caretaker of his land and home. Would book again, I look forward to returning sometime soon.

    Alexander2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Steve’s place was perfect! The little shanti I stayed in was very clean and cozy and made for a relaxing stay. The hosts were phenomenal and very welcoming!

  • I came to Pegasus Farms with the intention of spending a weekend alone writing in a cozy space surrounded by natural beauty. I did do some writing and I was surrounded by natural beauty, but other things ended up happening too, including dance party, steak grilling, farming, hiking through a pygmy forest, music jamming, deep conversations with lovely humans, hanging out with ridiculously sweet cats and a chatty duck, experiencing some fine dining, and reading pearls of wisdom from a book called, The Best Advice Ever Given, which was on the bookshelf of my shanti. It was a magical weekend spent with some beautiful people (i.e., Steve and Anne-Marie). I will definitely be going back. Some useful information - I was glad I brought some rain boots that I could easily slip on and off to walk to the bathroom in the wee hours of the morning. It does get chilly at night, so bring warm clothing. Other than that, just be open to the magic of this beautiful place:)

  • The Sand Dollar room is quirky but totally worth it. The Redwood Coast Inn was amazing - awesome old building, walking distance to all the fun shops in the historic district of Fort Bragg, super clean, and down the block from the ocean. We had a great time! Jameson was nothing but helpful and had some great restaurant recommendations.

The bed was sooo soft and the room aas very clean with thoughtful touches. Jessica was helpful in providing local tips and she was so nice. Definitely would stay here again.

At Surfsong, we invite you to re-discover the power of connection, with yourself and those you love. Cozy up by the fire-pit and gaze at the meteors painting the sky. Craft new memories and watch gray whales frolic. Your time, is yours. Nestled atop a bluff with unparalleled views of the Pacific, Surfsong is a rare testament to the luxury of quietude and rejuvenation. Whether you're an artist seeking inspiration, an adventurer or a couple on a romantic getaway, we invite you to visit.
**Please Note: If you'd like to use the hot tub, there's an additional $40 fee that will be charged separately. This is what we pay a qualified professional to ensure a professionally serviced and sanitary environment for you to enjoy. Surfsong is a spectacular zen escape located along the Mendocino coast, California. We offer a fabulous getaway in one of the top clean air destinations in California. Over the years, we've strived to honor the incredible ocean and mountain vistas by marrying luxury with simplicity. Our ethos is one that amalgamates warmth, peacefulness and relaxation. We strive to help you unplug, relax and rejuvenate. We believe, and many of our guests agree, that Surfsong embodies love. We’ve been fortunate to have hosted several proposals, honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries and birthdays at our home. Singular in its design and location, every room in Surfsong has majestic, protected views of the Pacific. A private haven, with no neighbors to the south, north and west, there’s nothing between you and the Pacific ocean. The living room is airy and cozy with a couch, large ottomans, dining table, and a reading nook featuring a comfy leather recliner. The room glows during the day, thanks to the east facing windows. Draw the curtains and take in views of the bucolic California Coast Range. Enjoy reading the novels, local literature or brochures on the large dresser by the couch. The bedroom features a luxurious and extremely comfortable queen size bed with premium linens. Step through the sliding patio doors to a wind chime-adorned wraparound deck to savor coffee or a glass of wine while watching waves break on the surf below. Be lulled by the song of the ocean while you sleep and wake up to the incredible experience of watching hummingbirds speeding by, whales breaching, cormorants diving and ospreys fishing. We have a deer trail on the bluff and if you're lucky, you may be able to spot a deer or two! :) The kitchen features Carrara marble countertops, a gorgeous Italian 4-burner gas stove, oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, countertop ice maker, toaster, electric kettle, coffee bean/spice grinder and small stainless steel fridge (no freezer). Dinnerware, flatware, chopping board, cooking utensils, oil and basic spices are provided so you can whip up a meal. Edible amenities include locally sourced coffee. There’s ample counter space should you decide to have dinner in the kitchen while enjoying the sunset :) We also have binoculars for our guests to use for whale spotting, bird-watching and star-gazing! The bathroom features live edge redwood counters with toiletries and beautiful, Turkish cotton towels for your convenience. We also recently purchased beautiful cotton robes for our guests to enjoy. The step-in iridescent Italian glass tiled shower shimmers underneath the skylight making long, hot showers all the more enjoyable! Our house is well insulated and on chilly winter nights, we also have a couple of space heaters and an electric wall heater for your convenience. Feel free to turn them on to get comfy and warm. The large deck (over 300 sq ft!) has custom outdoor seating and also features a hot tub. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee, yoga, meditate, read or just relax and take in the expansive whitewater and bluewater views. We've just invested in a top-of-the-line gas fire-pit for our guests. Feel free to snuggle by the fire and watch the world go by :) We also recently upgraded to a luxurious, custom-made hot tub cover which is extremely lightweight and provides exemplary insulation. We also have a gas grill in our backyard for our guests to use. Enjoy the convenience of hassle-free grilling (no coals, no fuss, no muss!) and dine al fresco on the oceanfront deck. Laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer that you’re welcome to use. We have an EV charge port (NEMA 14-50), which is available as a courtesy to our Airbnb guests. Additionally, we offer free parking for upto 2 cars. The closest airport to us is the one in Santa Rosa (I believe, they carry 4 airlines). The drive from the airport to our home is about 2.5 hrs. The other option is Eureka airport which is 2 hrs 45 mins drive from our place. Both are small, regional airports. Sacramento is a much larger airport and you'd have more options in terms of airlines. The drive from Sacramento to our home is about 4 hrs.
The Westport store (Hours: 8AM-8PM), a 5 min walk from Surfsong, is a great place to stock up on supplies and fill gas. They also make pizzas and sandwiches and it’s a nice way to meet friendly locals! Stop for an espresso, beer or a nice dinner at the Old Abalone Pub. The service is friendly and the ambience is lovely. If you’re in the mood for exploration, there are several beaches within walking and driving distance. Glass beach, in nearby Fort Bragg, is a beautiful stop on your drive upto Westport. Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, one of a handful of botanical gardens by the ocean nationwide, boasts beautiful hiking trails, gardens and a nationally acclaimed heath and heather collection. April is typically when the rhododendrons bloom and it's a beautiful sight to behold. Try forest-bathing or shirin-yoku as you hike through our ancient redwood forests or through our pygmy forest. Immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the Mendocino coast is a wonderful way to de-stress and truly ground yourself. Let your worries melt away when you're here. For craft beer aficionados, we highly recommend North Coast Brewery and Taproom in Fort Bragg. In addition to great beers, they also have jazz performances that you can enjoy. Also, be sure to check out the railbikes for a unique, fun-filled opportunity to get up and close to ancient redwood groves. For more info, please visit: https://www.skunktrain.com/railbikes/ Indulge your sweet tooth at Cowlick's, a handmade ice-cream shop in Fort Bragg. They source all their products locally and their ice-creams are delicious. Locals and out-of-towners have been enjoying Cowlick's for years! As a guest in our home, we are here to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed. I’d be happy to provide customized recommendations or help make reservations for local events based on what your preferences are, please enquire :)
  • Perfect getaway! The view is worth EVERY penny. 100% coming back

    Nik2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This house is gorgeous. Not only is the view amazing, but the inside of the house is so cute! I also loved the little extras that were there for guest usage, like the board games and bath robes. I would definitely come back here!

    Christina2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was great! The porch was the was the highlight as it contained a hot tub and fire pit. It also had incredible views of the ocean. The house was clean and had a few board games along with coffee/tea. Westport doesn’t have a lot to do. It has a grocery story conveniently located down the street and there is a hotel with a pub and restaurant on the inside. The house is close to Fort Bragg and Mendocino which is nice. It took us about 30 minutes to drive to Fort Bragg where we hiked the ecological staircase. From there it took us less than 10 minutes to get to Mendocino where we went whale watching and participated in the festival they had going on. We had an excellent time!

  • This lovely cottage is a perfect spot to retreat from the world. It's cozy, comfortable, and romantic. We wish we could have stayed for longer.

    Jon2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A small cute cottage facing the coast from the bedroom, the kitchen and the deck with a jacuzzi and a gas fireplace. You could watch sunset, walk just across a little park to get to a large beach all to yourself. There is also a glass beach close, rail bikes to ride in the redwoods, fun little shops and restaurants. We definitely want to come back soon! Highly recommend this place! It’s like a little piece of paradise!

    Julie2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Surfsong is truly an incredible place and Batul is hands down the best superhost we've had the pleasure of communicating with. This was our second time staying here and we cannot wait to return. I am somewhat conflicted writing this review because while I want the world to know what an amazing place this is, I also want to keep it a secret so I can book it anytime! That's just me being selfish. Batul's place is a magical destination for anyone looking to unplug from the daily grind and get lost in nature's beauty. From the incredible view of the rugged coast, to the breathtaking night sky from the hot tub, this place will recharge your soul and make you feel alive. Sit on the back patio next to the fireplace and just gaze out at the ocean. Fall asleep to the crashing waves right outside the bedroom door, then wake up to them and start your day better than you thought you would. Go for a hike or tide pooling down the street. Grab some snacks from the corner store which is literally a 2 minute walk . I could go on and on about what an amazing and special place Surfsong is but you need to experience it for yourself to truly understand.

    Tamas2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, perfect for couples on romantic getaways.

    Luisca2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I loved staying here. You really get to disconnect in Surfsong, but you don't have to walk to far to get food or to the beach. It gets very dark outside at night and you get an amazing view of the stars. We can't wait to visit again

Enjoy the sleepy coastal town of Fort Bragg in our renovated 1920's home. This is a monthly, temporary rental. The bedroom has a nice new double mattress and the futon is very comfy with luxury linens and a down quilt. We have hardwood floors, a huge bathroom and large closets. We are within walking distance of Safeway and downtown.
The room is west-facing with a large closet, desk and bureau.
Our neighborhood is residential about six blocks from Noyo Headlands Trail. Great hiking and biking opportunities as well as a nearby gym.
  • Nanette's house is beautiful. It is located in a quiet area of Fort Bragg. We had a great time and are very grateful for being able to stay there. Plus, Nanette plays the violin beautifully..... Thank you Nanette!!

    Elsa2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nanette will welcome you with a kind smile and an easy going vibe. Her home is casual and comfy. There is ample street parking. Great place to stay for outdoor active travelers that are looking for a quiet peaceful, place to stay for a month!

The health and safety of our guests, homeowners, and employees is our number one priority. Many of our vacation rentals minimize person-to-person contact with private amenities and entry via smart locks or lockboxes. Plus, each reservation is backed by 24/7 customer support and expert cleaning in line with current CDC guidelines.
Dune Flower is one of four homes known as the Mendocino Coast Dunes Retreat. The nautical theme of this barn-like "Guest House" begins outside and invites you to enter. A cozy bedroom alcove and bathroom are to your left ,with the gas-log fireplace in between facing the living room. The living area is open and spacious, charmingly decorated to put you in a beach-combing mood. There's also a private hot tub. There is no full kitchen, but the kitchenette offers a small mini-fridge (without a freezer), a microwave, a toaster oven (but no regular oven), and a small two-burner hot plate so you can whip up a snack easily. Take the path leading to MacKerricher State Park and Beach at the end of the private road. Once you make the trek (15-20 min.) to the dunes, you'll be greeted by a panoramic view of pristine dunes and ocean views - great for quiet walks, picnics, and communing with the natural beauty of your surroundings. You can even bring your dogs, though a small nightly fee applies. Come back to Dune Flower and enjoy the fire-pit outside (firewood is not provided). This little "getaway" is perfect for a single person or couple. A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • Cute little stay! Best for a couple but can accommodate 1-2 extra people is must. Beautiful dunes are just a short walk away (dogs not allowed on state beach FYI). Place was cute, cozy and about a 15 min drive from fort Bragg.

    Grace2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home in a secluded and quiet area north of Ft. Bragg. Quick drive to all the popular sites and hikes. Amazing hot tub with a wonderful view of the stars at night. Heating worked very well for our needs! Relatively well stocked for the size of the home. Access to a freezer space would make the unit just about perfect.

    Zac2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm, cozy place.

    Patrick2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Dune Flower is a sweet cabin in Fort Bragg. Well furnished, clean and spacious. Plenty of space outside for dogs to run. The highlight is the walk to the beach over the dunes to watch sunsets.

    Bhavna2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place! Should be noted this is essentially a studio.

    Anna2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Good spot, not far from the local town. With poor internet due to redwoods it would have been nice to know some local places to check out. There are sand dunes on sand dunes that are an amazing hike right at the end of the street.

    Megan2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and perfect. It was great to be able to bring our pups they enjoyed the stay just as much especially the the hike through the Dunes . Hot tub star gazing is the best, and being just miles from town was a bonus. All the amenities for the kitchen were just enough and the towels for the hot tub was appreciated. Thank you for hosting us!!!

    Kim2019-10-24T00:00:00Z

Located in the beautiful Redwoods of Mendocino county, this sweet room is in a newly constructed apartment/garage . The hosts live in the upstairs unit and it is their private residence. The room downstairs is in the renovated garage. It has its own living room space equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, and T.V. The bathroom is an outdoor bathhouse with an open air shower and view of the redwoods. There is only cold water in the sink, but the shower is hot, hot hot! It’s rustic, but lovely.
The common area downstairs shares an entrance with the host family, but the room is entirely secure and private. We are a relaxed, friendly, bilingual family who has lived in the area for years. We work and are up early, but we will be as quiet as we can in the morning! We have information on all the best eateries, local spots and hangouts. We can also direct you to the favorite beach locations as well. We have a friendly little dog that loves people. He will not be loose, but you may hear a little squeak from him now and then. Under special circumstances we may be open to a small breed, furry family member accompanying our guests as well.
We are located in the Redwoods off Highway 20. It is a new construction in a quiet neighborhood. You can explore our property that is backed up to Jackson State Forest, or drive 5 minutes to access the sea.
  • Dakotah’s place is really welcoming and sincere. We loved how it’s equipped and she had even a little something for breakfast present. The outdoor bathroom is just a bit inconvenient for cold days but otherwise we loved staying and would recommend!!

    Dana2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Dakotah was super responsive, the room was easy to check in, and clean. Pretty quick drive to either Fort Bragg or Mendocino. Outdoor bathroom/shower was a little tough to manage at night (dark and cold, though you are provided a camping light), but fun in the morning. Overall, good value stay on Mendocino coastline.

    John2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I only stayed a night but we absolutely loved the room! It was clean, cozy, and warm. (Dakotah provided heaters) I would stay again when I come back in town.

    Belinda2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We are very satisfied with Dakatoh's place and it's value for money. It's not a fancy place at all, but is a nice cozy place and sufficient in every way. Location is just 5-10 min to the beach and Fort Bragg restaurants. The house, the private room and the outdoor bathroom is amid tall redwood trees and feels really relaxing. The heaters in the bedroom and living room are really helpful as we visited in February. Dakotah had anticipated every little need for a short trip and arranged for them (plates and cutlery, microwave, small oven, coffee, tea, sugar, french press, water kettle, towels, even slipper for the visit to the outdoor bathroom). The outdoor bathroom is a great touch. We enjoyed them as it felt quite romantic (shower is partly visible from your own bedroom window, but not from any other window in the house). We were initially concerned about the privacy but we felt it was sufficiently private (covered till about 5 feet height), and has a curtain serving as the door/entrance.

    Thiruvengadam2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dakotah and her adorable have really created something special here. You won’t be disappointed!

    Sara2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was sparkling clean and the space heaters made a worlds difference in the chilly November! Dakotah was always quick to respond which was really helpful. If visiting in winter be sure you prepare for rain and remember the bathroom is outdoors so you may have to plan when you shower if it rains :)

    Maria2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay! The outdoor bathroom is very neat, I suggest you give it a try. The space is extremely clean and super fun.

    Mitch2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

  • We had the perfect weekend getaway at Anne’s spot. It’s clean, cute and comfortable. The backyard is gorgeous and our stay was lovely. Anne is a fantastic host! We hope to come back for another visit soon.

  • Anne and Bill’s studio is clean, comfortable and convenient! We highly recommend this stay if you are looking for a relaxing weekend on the Mendocino coast!

    Sydney2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gem! My partner and I come up and stay at the Photographers Studio every year. The space is roomy and beautifully furnished. Every time we’ve stayed we fall more in love with the studio and with Fort Bragg. This time around we couldn’t help but notice how great we slept each night! The location is minutes away from the Headlands and less then 10 from Glass Beach. Anne has some great suggestions for local eats and trails. Zazi is the sweetest and a staple of our visit. Can’t wait to come back up!

    Chanel2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

  • What an incredible treat - the Photographer's Studio was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The studio itself is private with many personal touches. It is obvious Anne and Bill are very thoughtful about the space and their guests' experience. The bed is comfy and the studio includes plenty of amenities including coffee, tea and even cream in the fridge. Anne, Bill and Zazi were wonderful hosts and had excellent advice for our adventures in the area. I can't rave about this place enough!

We are the Benbow KOA RV Park and we have a variety of cabins to rent. Located in the Benbow Valley along the Eel River, we are just off of Highway 101 surrounded by mountains and trees. Amenities include a playground, sport court, seasonal pool, hot tub, dog park, river access, game room and convenient store.
You will be renting one of three private rooms with its own private bathroom. The unit is a small, simple room with heat & AC, a mini fridge, mini microwave and a full bathroom including a shower.
We are our own neighborhood. A historic hotel, the RV park and golf course. There are some residences tucked away in the hillsides but this is a rural setting. Up the highway a few miles is the city of Garberville which hasgas stations, coffee shops, a grocery store and restaurants.
  • I booked a trip last minute and this place was perfect for what I needed. It was small and cozy — one room with a bed, a bathroom, and a sink plus a refrigerator and TV. It’s located in an RV park and you can walk down to the river from the room. It was beautiful and quiet. There’s a short walk to the Benbow Historic Inn where you can grab a bite to eat or a drink. I came in after the office closed but luckily they called me ahead of time to let me know that I can check-in at the Historic Inn. Very communicative. I would definitely book again.

  • This cabin is perfect if you want the best out of southern Humboldt! It’s a quaint little cabin RIGHT next to the river, and you get to sleep surrounded by the sound of the Redwoods! It’s less than 2 minutes away from Garberville and a little more from Redway, and the folks in the office can recommend some nice pleaces for you to visit. They’re very passionate about where they live and it shows. The interior is small, but if you’re like me and like cozy places, it’s just perfect! It was VERY clean, almost like nobody had never stayed in my room at all. I loved my experience here and hope to come back for my next Humboldt adventure!

The rental space is the lower unit in a two story house. The studio is all on one level and does not require stairs to enter. The ocean can be seen and heard all day, and there is a private trail which leads to the beach in less than 5 minutes. Enjoy a breakfast in bed while watching the waves and spend as much time as you please being cozy inside or adventuring outside. With the full kitchen and dining table, cooks can enjoy using local farm fresh ingredients to make delicious meals.
One of your hosts is an ordained minister and upon request can officiate your nuptials on the cliffs of the pacific ocean. You may also have a chance to interact with the resident horses. We share 3 acres of property with neighbors who own two friendly horses that on some days will hang out on our side of the yard. They love treats like carrots, and apples; as well as some good head scratches. We wish they were ours, but they wander the property freely so we can't guarantee they'll be on our side when you visit.
Our house is located 5 minutes from Virgin Creek Beach. We live along a trail called the "Haul Road" as it used to be the primary roadway used to haul lumber between the forest and the saw mill in town. The saw mill is long gone, but the roadway remains giving runners, walkers, and bicyclists an excellent trail to use anytime of day. We are also a 5 minute drive from the center of historic Fort Bragg with beautiful shops and delicious restaurants.
  • Really wonderful location and lovely interior. If you like to walk through a field to the beach and keep walking along some beautiful coast to the Seal Observation Deck without getting in your car, this is the place. The place seems brand new, feels very private, and is bigger than some one-bedroom places. There are great view out three sides of the studio. The hosts are 11 on a scale of 10 nice. Bed was super comfortable, we want to buy the mattress. Nice big kitchen. Really everything seemed perfect. Thanks for making our trip a real joy.

  • We had a wonderful long weekend in Fort Bragg. Caitlin is very hospitable and left delicious treats for us and had fresh daffodils in vases. Home was very clean. The home's location is beautiful: 1. you can hear the ocean waves 24/7, 2. It is a short walk through a field to a private beach where we walked on "singing sand" and saw a cute sea otter walking on shore. Such a peaceful and relaxing weekend.

  • This is a lovely place in a wonderful location adjacent to a state park. You can walk a few minutes to watch the sunset over the ocean, explore tide pools on the beach and walk or bike along a paved path that goes along the cliffs all the way to downtown Fort Bragg (about 1 mile). Caitlin and Bret were excellent hosts with fast, easy communication. Their place is very clean, with comfortable furnishings and all the amenities that you made need and special touches like fresh flowers and plants, local coffee and tea and sweet snacks. And there are horses in the yard! I highly recommend it and hope to go back some day.

We'd like to invite you to stay at our piece of heaven here on the coast! Enjoy a newly built, furnished & decorated cottage located 3 miles north of FB, 1/2 mile from the ocean on 15 beautiful acres in the sunbelt. Relax in the peaceful redwoods while enjoying your own private deck with a firepit for nightime bonfires, and a hot tub for luxuriating in warm water while you view the stars in the clear sky. There's a fully appointed kitchen with all the amenities, so stay as long as you like.
The cottage is wheelchair accessible, with wide doorways and roll in shower, not necessarily ADA compliant. The cottage is very roomy, almost 900 sq ft. There's a large outdoor living area with barbecue, hot tub, fire pit, and lots of space for relaxing.
It's quiet and rural here, with space for hiking through the redwoods or walking through the apple orchard.
  • Great place with all the amenities you will need. Close to beach!

  • The Cottage is the perfect secluded getaway while visiting Fort Bragg. The house is well appointed and situated beautifully amongst the trees. Mary and Royce were excellent hosts!

    Sean2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is fantastic. Very peaceful in the woods, not far from a walk on the beach. Very unique touches in each room. We had a great time. Very worth the trip.

  • I stayed with my father and partner for two days to walk MacKerrick park. It was the wonderfully unpretentious retreat we needed coupled with amazing privacy. Truly perfect.

    John2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great girls trip getaway here. The hot tub, spacious cottage, tv/DVD and comfy beds were highlights. Close enough to restaurants and sights, but feels more private and cozy being a bit more north. Hosts were so great!

  • Expect a wonderful, cozy, comfortable cottage in the woods above Fort Bragg. Prepare to relax and enjoy your vacation...however long it might be.

    Greg2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is located close to town yet in a quiet place that feels secluded. We started and ended our evening in the hot tub, which is on the side of the cottage away from the main house. We enjoyed the local suggestions. The personal bed warmers were a nice touch. We would stay here again.

This charming 400 sq. ft. cabin is in the sunbelt close to Mendocino Village. Tucked in the redwoods, it sits on a 20-acre property, with kitchen, fold-out couch in the front room, bedroom (with new mattress),shower & bathroom. Down the road, you can hike or bike alongside Big River, where sea lions, birds & other wildlife are plentiful. Star-gaze and toast marshmallows as you stay toasty by the fire pit. Enjoy a morning Nesspresso with frothed cream while listening to the sounds of nature.
We know the area well, so feel free to ask us for tips on anything that comes to mind, whether it's an activity you're interested in, where to eat or upcoming local events. Or just take it easy in the quiet comfort of our secluded property. In the armoire we provide a pack and play for your little one. The new queen mattress is a Craftmatic. There are instructions if you want to raise the head or foot side of the bed. After self checking in, please feel free to roam around our property. There are pathways leading through the gardens (designed by Gary Ratway, who also designed the Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg), and a pond with chairs if you want to relax outside. We just added a 2-person hammock by the fire pit, so you can enjoy a daytime nap or nighttime stargazing. Don’t forget to enjoy making and of course EATING s’mores (ingredients supplied in cabin). On the healthy side, you can pick some lettuce, herbs & apples in the vegetable garden. The tap water is all purified well water and excellent for drinking. Wi-Fi is spotty and there’s no cell service unless you have Verizon. (Some other carriers work here, but definitely not AT&T.)
All properties in our area are between 5 and 20 acres, so there's plenty of peace and privacy. Five of our 20 acres are fenced in, so you can roam the grounds without getting lost in the woods!
  • This space was so cute and exactly what my partner and I needed. It was so thoughtfully decorated and packed with awesome amenities. I loved the book selection. The sheets were super soft and nothing beats waking up surrounded by redwoods. We didn't meet Tracy, but Bart was a very friendly and helpful host. 10/10 would recommend!

    Virginia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Tracy and Bart’s cabin. It is easy to find if you follow their specific directions. it was a good home base for our Mendocino adventures. Loved the fire pit and s’mores.

    Renee2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed 2 nights with my girlfriend and the place was perfect for us. There were so many nice touches that I do not expect from a host at all. Cheers

    Dylan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Tracy and Bart's place! The cabin is super cute, clean, and cozy. It's very private and only a few minutes away from downtown Mendocino. Tracy and Bart were excellent in communicating with us and made sure all of our needs were met. They even provided great recommendations for restaurants, hikes, and local attractions. When we return to Mendocino in the future (hopefully sooner than later!), we'll definitely be staying at Tracy and Bart's place.

    Megan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Only a few miles from Mendocino, the Quaint Cabin was in a perfect location surrounded by redwoods and garden area. The well-equipped cabin is in a very quiet, peaceful setting. It was great that we could easily access local coastal trails, restaurants, and beach walks, while having a cozy cabin to return home to. Thanks Tracy and Bart for your rustic but comfortable cabin tucked in the redwoods. We will return!

    Debbie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot! The cabin is adorable and the gardens are gorgeous. Definitely stroll the property if you have time!

  • A true gem! Lovely cabin close to Mendocino but still nicely tucked away in the forest for some quiet. The posted description is spot on and you'll find extra touches, reading materials, aromatherapy, s'mores ingredients, etc to take your stay to the next level. Check in was very easy and Bart & Tracy are easy to reach with any questions. Would love to stay here again one day and can easily recommend.

Located in a quiet, rural area and yet only a few minutes drive from downtown Fort Bragg and one mile from the beach, our beautiful private cozy cabin was completely remodeled in 2014.
Our secluded, cozy cabin is located just north of Fort Bragg near the end of a quiet gravel lane. The cabin is in a rural area and yet is just a few minutes drive from downtown and its numerous restaurants and galleries. Also just a few minutes drive are the Skunk Train, Glass Beach, the Noyo Headlands Park and Coastal Trail, MacKerricher State Park and Pudding Creek Beach. The cabin is close to the main house, but with a separate yard and entrance, so is very private. The accommodation consists of a large, light and airy sitting/dining room with vaulted pine ceiling. This room also has a kitchenette comprising of a sink, microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer, tea kettle and coffee maker (Note: there is no stove or cooktop). The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and en suite bathroom with shower. There is a small covered redwood deck with table and chairs. A very efficient gas monitor heater is located in the main room for those chilly evenings. Free WiFi access is available. Binoculars, beach towels, beach chairs and coolers are available to borrow on request. There are many activities available locally including whale watching, fishing, hiking, cycling, kayaking, horse riding, to name a few. Fort Bragg has many festivals throughout the year including the Whale Festival in March, the Mendocino Film Festival in May, the World's Largest Salmon Barbecue and Mendocino Music Festival in July and Paul Bunyan Days in September.
  • Very nice and clean place, we enjoyed our stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Fiona's cabin this past weekend. Had all the amenities we needed and was very private. Fiona was nice enough to meet and greet us and provide some information about things in the area. Bed was very cozy! Recommended if you're looking for a nice place to stay in Fort Bragg.

  • Such a nice little space. It was my first time doing airbnb so I didnt know what to expect. Fiona was wonderful, and gave great directions to her place, even though it was really easy to find anyways. The space is the perfect size for 2 people and is very clean. She showed us the space when we got there and I never saw her again the rest of the time, letting us enjoy our quiet and peaceful little spot. One nice thing about it is that she keeps brochures to food places and a list of other things to do in the area. I kind of got to fort bragg with only a couple of things on my agenda, so her lists really helped me expand on things to do. Thank you again fiona!

    Matt2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our cozy stay at Fiona’s cottage! Fiona greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. She even had a copy of a local newspaper so we could check the tide tables before visiting any of the nearby beaches - such an incredibly thoughtful touch! The space was beautiful, and we especially loved watching the hummingbirds on the porch in the morning. We were very glad for the tranquil escape for a weekend.

Fly in fly out with the runway walking distance to the building. Golf course across the street.
A stones throw from amazing cliffs along the edge of the Pacific. Walking distance to our local Venezuelan restaurants Mi Mochima and Gyppo Brewery as well as the Fish Tank coffee shop. Located at the north end of the local golf course and airstrip.
  • Wonderful place with a breathtaking view.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This house was worth every hour driving and every penny paid for the excellent view and chance to explore all the little ocean coves. It was cozy, clean, and spacious. The beds were comfy, the shower was hot, the kitchen was great and there was even a washing machine there if you need it. It’s best to bring your own food but there is a general store before you get into town and a tiny store in town, as well as a few restaurants that have various closed hours. The walk down to the cliffs and the ocean view is only a few minutes and then you can walk or drive along the coast and enjoy various entrances to see seals, black sand beach, rocks, giant waves, and even a lighthouse. During the spring it was extremely windy and cloudy but beautiful! It was the perfect impromptu getaway. I’d love to come back over the summer but for the price in the spring, it’s perfect!

Retreat from the demands of daily life beneath majestic redwoods, among healing gardens and surrounding rustic area, with its tranquil atmosphere of silence, relaxation, and comfort, and be filled with peace.
WINTER SPECIAL: January and February - Book three nights, fourth night free. (request discount when booking) The Cottage at Milagro Grande IS: The joy of simple pleasures The casual comfort of feet on the coffee table Coffee in bed while you read one more chapter Scones and orange juice on the deck warmed by morning sun Being startled when a tree frog jumps as you move an outdoor pillow Watching hummingbirds bathe in the fountain and feeling their delight Looking up into the branches of a giant redwood and being awed Strolling through gardens of dazzling color and fragrance Looking into an evening circle fire and feeling its timeless connection Taking home the rejuvenation and healing that comes from slowing down and appreciating the joy of small things Our garden themed cottage offers just the right amount of rustic comfort. There is a queen-size bed fit for a king with a pampered feeling from organic bamboo sheets and pillows. There is a small galley kitchen with microwave, gas stove, small refrigerator, and basic equipment for light food preparation (after all, you didn’t come to the magnificent north coast to spend time in the kitchen cooking). There is a gas barbeque on your deck for your personal use. There is a full bath. The living area has a full-sized couch which makes into a bed, and a window seat suitable for a child (or an adult who wants to feel like a child). A propane fireplace provides heat and plenty of cozy without tending a fire. Internet is available and reliable. Everything you need for your "simple pleasures” getaway is provided or can be requested. We are conveniently situated a short distance from the seashore just beyond the usual fog line. Downtown Fort Bragg is five minutes away. Come stay with us and let the wonders of the wild north coast soothe and move you, and you will want to return again and again.
We live at the very end of the road and the last quarter mile is not paved. We are in a typical Mendocino county neighborhood of mixed old and new, large and small, homes. The property is forest and open ranch land on two sides. We are two miles inland from the ocean where Airport Road (there is no airport, which is a long story) meets the surf. We are minutes to our famous Glass Beach, the trestle bridge where Pudding Creek meets the sea, and the miles-long Haul Road, a paved mixed recreation trail along the bluffs with outrageous views of white water surf and sightings of passing whales. We connect with the newly opened section of the Coastal Trail. Bring your bikes, kayaks, and walking shoes. There's nearby surfing. fishing and state park events.

  • The Inn is a cute, cozy place with a warm atmosphere. If ever passing through Fort Bragg in the future we would definitely love to stay here again. Beth’s breakfast was amazing - she really pulls out all the stops! Her adorable little dogs and the house cat are lovely little greeters too. Thanks, Beth!

    Elissa2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Interlude room (soon the name is changing to Sea Breeze), and it was incredible. I have to say it was one of the best stays I've ever had anywhere. The cute animals, cozy atmosphere, and Beth's amazing breakfast made for a really great stay. We were initially booked to stay in the Buttercup room, but after seeing the other rooms in person, we opted to pay a little extra for an upgrade to Interlude. It was well worth the extra money and I would recommend paying a little extra to stay in your favorite room.

    Nate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The atrium is a darling and lovingly curated space to stay in. Even if you're just there for 1 night and you are the only guests you will get spectacular service. Late check in is easy, and check out was easy as well. Breakfast is amazing and Beth has a passion for the area. Highly recommend checking out this space. If you're on the fence don't be. Seriously great place to stay.

  • Great location. You can walk to town if you don’t mind a bit of an uphill walk on the way back. Very clean and tidy. Excellent communication. We had an extra late check in due to our traveling circumstances, and Rebecca had the extra sleeping area on the couch made up as a comfy bed for us. As well as had it nicely heated. It was so great to come into a warm place and be able to relax. She went above and beyond by having breakfast items in the refrigerator for us. We would stay here again.

  • This space is amazing. If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind, and fall asleep to ocean waves at night, then this is it. There is a beach next door, a convenience store across the street (with a super awesome owner), and the Abalone Pub across the street (open Thurs - Sat only) with amazing local fare. Our dog absolutely loved it here too. The hot tub was an amazing touch, and watching the waves, followed by the sunset, & then stargazing was perfect.

  • This place on the water offered excellent views - as advertised in the photos. Even though the house is on a bluff, it is only five minutes walk to the beach below. The hot tub on the back porch is an added feature. To sum up the views are unmatched. Our little dog also loved this place as he had acres of land to run around. While we picked up after our dog, we noticed left over from previous canine visitors. There is a small convenience store in town across the street from this house. However they only stock limited items. The next big town is Fort Bragg about 1/2 hr by road on route 1. It would help to shop for your groceries while in fort Bragg.

Escape to the scenic Northern California Coast at this two-bedroom, oceanfront Westport vacation rental! With gorgeous Pacific Ocean views and an updated beach cottage interior, you'll have a relaxing and one-of-a-kind vacation at The Coast! Located on the public headlands, you'll be right on the picturesque and rocky shoreline with nearby trails to two beaches. The small town of Westport offers a general store and a restaurant (you can even get an espresso and Sunday brunch at the Old Abalone Pub), but there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and more just to the south in Fort Bragg (16 miles away) and 10 miles further in Mendocino. You'll step inside to bamboo hardwood floors, recessed lighting in the wood-paneled ceilings, and an open floor plan. Large windows offer a direct view of the Pacific Ocean and you'll have a wood-burning stove for cozy and atmospheric nights inside. There's also a large screen TV, (with live-streaming access via Roku) plus a DVD player and movie library for entertainment. The full kitchen is packed with all the major appliances you'll need (including a dishwasher), to create tasty vacation meals. Stop at the store in Fort Bragg and come back home with groceries to whip up a spicy pot of cioppino. You can enjoy your seafood stew at the dining table with gorgeous ocean views! A small bistro table right by the windows is the perfect spot for an afternoon glass of local wine, and you'll even have binoculars for looking out to sea. The outdoor deck is complete with patio seating and a gas grill. Work on your tan while you admire the view. At night, the two bedrooms provide space for up to four guests. You'll have a queen bed, two twins, and two window seat mattresses—great for kids. Both bedrooms have access to the upper deck for gorgeous early morning ocean views. Other amenities include a private washer/dryer, a stereo with a CD player, and one-and-a-half baths. This peaceful spot is perfect for getting away from it all or searching out activities like wine tasting, beachcombing, and hiking. Drive about four miles south to sample local grapes at Pacific Star Winery—here you can bring a picnic lunch, sit back in Adirondack chairs, and dine outdoors overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Further south, Fort Bragg offers restaurants, breweries, and shops, while charming Mendocino is home to galleries, boutiques, and a variety of restaurants. Visit the Glass Beach in Fort Bragg adjacent to MacKerricher State Park or the Mendocino Botanical Gardens. You can set off on a day's adventure to the Avenue of the Giants (redwood forest) or just stay home and unwind and practice a “digital detox” and listen to the ocean surf hitting the rocky coast—this coastal retreat is a great home base for it all! For a romantic retreat, a trip with friends, or a family getaway, this Northern California Coast vacation rental offers a charming backdrop for your getaway to the shore! Property permit ID: 10940 A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.
  • Great place with a great view

    Dennis2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfectly located on the coast in the beautiful small town of Westport, situated across from the convenient little market and the Westport Hotel. The ocean views are beautiful...the windows are perfect to sit and watch the waves crashing on rocks all day. We would definitely stay here again!

    Aubriana2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This home is exactly how it's pictured, except it's even more beautiful. The location is stunning. There's a small beach, the Eddie White beach, less than 200 meters south of the property that we stumbled upon and highly recommend (must be able to do stairs). The views from all windows and porch/balcony are perfect - I absolutely loved the bay windows so comfortably designed with many pillows. They have cozy blankets and binoculars for watching the ocean and sealife. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The convenience store across the street was helpful, and we could access spotty wifi from within the property. Beyond what the store offers, there's not much more to the lovely Westport but it's a very close drive to Fort Bragg. Our group (four adults) had a wonderful two evenings at this property and highly recommend.

  • We loved this house by the coast - very comfortable, spacious with great views. The Community Shop opposite were super helpful - made us pizzas one night and gave good advice about the area. If you like gardens then the Botanical gardens in Fort Bragg are amazing.

    Sarah2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great getaway in a lovely, quiet location. The house has a beautiful view of the ocean and is very clean and well appointed. There’s a small market across the street that provides public wifi and a nice little restaurant at the hotel nearby. Fort Bragg is about a half hour drive south.

    Mabel2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful place by the ocean.

    Dharmarus2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with ocean view and beach access. Very relaxing.

    Jackie2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great space with gorgeous ocean views from the living room and the bedroom. The beds are not the most comfortable but over all we enjoyed our stay. They have a grill by the garbage bin but no hot tub. WiFi from the neighbor hood store is accessible in the entire house and does work well. There is a gravel beach that you can walk down from the back yard. The store across the street has packed food and drinks.

Year-round sunsets. Quiet. Hot tub. No crowds; isolate. Relax and unwind in this cozy and clean space; it's all yours. There's no one else to interrupt your stay. The cabin is small and intimate, but is stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay; soak in the hot tub or enjoy mountain views. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, along with coffee, tea, and cereals. Basic toiletries and bedding are provided.
This one bedroom cabin has a Cal-King bed and a Full futon for additional sleeping. We use fine cotton sheets and pillow cases, a down comforter in the winter; we are certain that you will sleep well. There's also an entertainment center with books, music, art supplies, and DVDs. In the fully stocked kitchen, you'll find everything you need to make your meals. If you're missing something, just ask. The bathroom is spacious and includes a washer and dryer. We offer fresh, soft towels for your bathing pleasure. There is plenty of space to pitch a tent outside, as well as a hammock to enjoy the sunsets from. There is a hot tub at the Cabin that is solely for the use of our guests. Because of the excellent view and our Mediterranean climate, the Cabin's location can be windy, as well as hot in the summer. But this also means that there is great star-gazing at night. Summers can be hot, up to 105° F, with nighttime temperatures dropping to the 50s to 60s which means that you can open the windows in the evening and cool off. There's usually a pleasant breeze to cool you off. Winters are beautiful, with the rainy season bringing the green lushness of the Pacific Northwest. At 1000 feet elevation, Woodwind Hill is just below the snow line but we occasionally get dusted. Our average annual rainfall is about 70". Cell phone coverage in Southern Humboldt can be spotty for some carriers. T-Mobile customers can have difficulty with reception. We do not have Wi-Fi. While we have a TV for DVD use, there is NO cable or satellite TV services.
Until the Covid debacle is over, Humboldt County is not allowing us to rent to anyone who lives outside of Humboldt. We're very sorry. We have hired the North Coast Clean Team (707-497-4215) to help us make sure that the Cabin is perfect for you. As a result, this has raised our overall price. Please know that the money spent on our Cabin goes to support 3 different families. The $50 cleaning fee is based on the average time it takes to clean our Airbnb. Thank you for your support and understanding. IN-HOUSE BODY WORK is now available! We are very happy to announce that Master Body Worker Flurina Niggli is available to do work at the Cabin, or at her place of business. Go to https://www.flurinaniggli.com/ to see all of the possibilities. It will be UP TO YOU to contact Flurina and set up the appointment to coincide with your stay at the Cabin. LOCATION: The historic Benbow Inn, KOA campground & golf course, and Benbow State Recreation Area are a short drive away, as well as walking trails and redwood groves. Garberville is about 10 minutes away. Shelter Cove and the Pacific Ocean is an hour drive. An hour to the north is the Victorian village of Ferndale, and bit further Eureka and Arcata. Arcata is home to Humboldt State University. There are many options for outdoor activities. Tell us what you want to do and we'll send you in the right direction. Please note that the Eel River can become unhealthy beginning in August. Low flows and high temperatures create algae blooms, which, while causing itchyness for people, can be fatal for dogs. Pay attention and swim only where the water runs clean. Check out our Airbnb Guidebook for local sites and activities. We love our community and would like to help you get to know the area. Tell us what you love to do, what sights you want to see, and we'll help as best we can.
  • The cabin was beautiful and Rob was super helpful!

    Shannon2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rob and Marie’s place is awesome. From the stunning views to the little touches, everything was perfect and the only thing that would have made our stay any better would have been staying for a few more days.

    Angad2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Beautiful views, easy to find, with lots of thoughtful touches. The fresh eggs were delicious and the little snacks were very much appreciated! I will be back for sure!

    Ashley2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rob & Marie’s place is amazing. They put so much thought into every element of the house, everything was personalized and it was amazing. My friends and I had a great time. Recommend it 100%.

    Swaroop2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the property & view is breath taking! The cabin its self is beautifully decorated. extremely cozy and very private. With farm fresh eggs and quality choice cearials and milks in the fridge, among lots of other things. This cabin TRULY felt like "my home away from home"... only WAY BETTER. The hot tub was so relaxing! I cant wait to visit Southern Humboldt again just so i can book this cabin again. Thank you Rob & Marie for the rejuvenating stay. Looking forward to staying again, soon :)

  • Excellent!

    Amanda2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an AWESOME time staying at this cabin. This was a last minute trip and we didn't expect anything however everything turned out to be perfect. My partner and I watched the sunset on the hammock, food and live music at Cecil's were great, soaked in hot tub and we found the winter hexagon in the sky. We met Rob and Marie the next day (and the dogs and chickens!) and they are genuinely nice people! We thoroughly enjoyed this weekend getaway and it was great to learn more about this part of California and met with Rob and Marie. I would recommend staying at this cabin anytime!

    Jared2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Rob and Marie's place. The house is comfortable and stylish, with thoughtful visual touches - very romantic and absolutely perfect for a couple. The mountain view is spectacular, the oak tree view from the bedroom is bucolic and intimate. We loved the hot tub. Honestly, if we weren't on a schedule, we would have stayed at least a couple more days.

The studio features a spacious architecturally designed living area, kitchenette, 2 beds (+air mattresses) & bath in a lush 8 acre garden. Your own private retreat includes sauna, hot tub, breakfast, and massage (separate fee paid to masseur) by prior appointment. All just 5 minutes from town and Glass Beach.
The Mendocino Coast's most popular Airbnb destination now has over 900 five-star reviews. The Garden at Road’s End, located just two miles from the beach at Pudding Creek in Fort Bragg is a garden lover’s paradise. Set on 8 acres in the middle of a carefully tended lush landscape, the gardens are surrounded by fields, forest, and redwood groves. As my guests, you’ll have the sense you’ve stepped into another world- one that offers peace, tranquility, and the opportunity to recharge and find your own place of inspiration. You will be offered a private, self-contained architecturally designed studio adjacent to the main house. The 500 sq. ft. space features a comfy living area with a large sofa, table and chairs, a cozy window seat with views to the gardens, and photographs and original artwork by some of The Mendocino Coast's most renowned artists. The sleeping area includes TWO double beds, so the studio easily accommodates four, in one large, light-filled room. A queen-sized air mattress is also available for those of you wishing to add an extra person or two. The well-appointed kitchenette allows you to prepare simple meals with its refrigerator, countertop convection oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and blender. An array of simple breakfast foods, (bagels, cereals, fruit) and coffee and teas are included with your accommodations. A dining table and 4 chairs allow you to eat comfortably, and a beautiful bathroom of modest proportions with a glass block shower, plus large area for hanging and storing clothes complete your accommodations. A very efficient Monitor heater will keep your room at the temperature you prefer. In the event of planned or unplanned power outages, I have a generator to provide you with all the essentials, minus the hot tub, sauna, and garden fountains and waterfalls. A wet/dry cedar sauna, free weights, hot tub and deck, outdoor shower, comfy hammock, fire table (extra fee), free Wi-Fi, and plenty of places to sit throughout the gardens complement your studio space. A separate massage studio on the property offers massage and bodywork by prior appointment with an extremely talented local professional therapist, Paul, and he will help you to fully unwind and surrender into peace. Once you have a confirmed reservation you may message me for contact information for massage appointments. The gardens have played host to many garden tours, fund-raising events, an inspirational Houzz video, and more than a dozen couples have been married in the gardens over the past 20 years. Please note I no longer host weddings or events, however. I bring my talents as an architect, landscaper, lover of Spirit, and as an innkeeper for 13 years at a retreat center in Sonoma County into play here, where I have finally found a place to live out my passion, and share it with others. I am fully licensed to operate a B&B, and the rates include an 11% hotel tax which I pay to the county, so staying with here helps support the local economy here on the Mendocino Coast. The Garden at Road's End is just 5 minutes from downtown with its restaurants and shops, and from the famous Glass Beach, Skunk Train, and from miles of spectacular coastline with its many beaches and hiking trails. The property is a 20 minute drive along Highway One to the Victorian Village of Mendocino- a must see! I look forward to playing unobtrusive host to those of you who feel inspired to visit and will do my best to make your stay a memorable one.
The neighborhood is a great location, just 5 minutes from downtown Fort Bragg, Glass Beach, and the coastal bluffs, yet the property is at the very end of a quiet gravel road, and the only sounds you will hear are the garden's waterfalls, crows, wind in the redwoods, horses hooves and whinnies in the adjacent pasture, and when the conditions are right, the ocean surf. We are at the edge of the "banana belt": when Fort Bragg is socked in with summer fog, we are very often still in sunshine.
  • What can I say about this piece of Paradise that hasn't been said before? Well, I'll just say that from the moment John greeted us we were in awe of the surroundings. We loved exploring the grounds (and its hidden treasures) and relaxing in the sauna and hot tub. The beautiful studio apartment was the icing on the cake. All in all, this weekend excursion was a perfect 30th anniversary getaway!

  • John’s place was so spectacular and was very comfortable and clean! He put so much thought into everything about the space from the breakfast to the extra linens to the sauna and hot tub. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is staying in Fort Bragg. I wish I had stayed for longer than one night!

    Ann2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • John's garden paradise beats any other Airbnb experience I have had to date. The studio is so comfortable and well appointed, and the gardens are magical. Hot tub and sauna top it of.

  • Beautiful studio, garden, spa and more

    Elyssa2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • It gave us a big surprise and it was the perfect place to stay during our trip. The various plants in the large garden are very beautiful. We saw deer in the forest in the morning, and the children were very happy! The hot pool in the forest, the large brazier on the lawn, the independent hut gym and the sauna ... all enjoyed alone, this feeling is very comfortable. The room was comfortable and the lighting effects were very good, and I enjoyed staying here. We are fortunate to find such a house, which is inexpensive and a perfect experience.

    Dali2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful garden, just gorgeous and the hot tub was very nice and enjoyable! Great place to relax!

    Casey2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful! From the gardens to the unique finishes inside the house, this place was gorgeous. We love the garden, hot tub & sauna and appreciated the little details such as the local magazines and coffee. It was sparkling clean & beautifully furnished. We also loved being surrounded by trees and the serenity of the place.

Quiet, relaxing neighborhood with a local deer herd. Conveniently close to downtown Fort Bragg & Mendocino with shops, grocery stores, and restaurants, but private and beautifully situated on the coast.

  • Trulee could not be more thoughtful about working with us for our needs (serious allergies and sensitivities). And little touches to make things convenient and easy. Also very clean and a very comfortable bed. Best of all, the ocean, right there through the window. A very lovely and quiet spot.

    Anne-Marie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Trulee is a fantastic host. She is easy to communicate with, gives great recommendations on local areas of interest and her home is an absolute beauty. This enchanting cottage is exactly as described and a perfect place to recharge. Also, please take Trulee's advice and try to get to the cottage before dark as there is no street lights which can make finding the entrance a bit tricky. Besides that, this is a place you will no doubt want to return to over and over again! The Harveys

    Gaelle2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd visit to Trulee's place and it was as spectacular as our first! The ocean view is unbeatable. The pictures very accurately show the panoramic ocean views, but it's even more dramatic in person. You can see the ocean from virtually every window in the home. I cannot overstate its beauty. Beyond the incredible location, the amenities are perfect for us. Bed is very comfortable, the living area is definitely spacious enough for 2 couples to share. We had everything we needed to prepare a simple supper and ate most meals at home. The house is just minutes from downtown Ft Bragg and a 10 minute drive to Mendocino which is very convenient. You can spend part of the day in the forest and part of the day on the beach. You will find a lot of amazing hiking opportunities in the area as well, whether you want a guided trail or you just want to wander a bit on your own. Trulee's place will be our first choice for any future visits to Ft. Bragg.

    Brett2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible views in a great location for a great price. Probably our favorite Airbnb that we have ever stayed in. Thank you for sharing your home.

    Kristen2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Trulee’s ‘Tidepools’ place is amazing - so amazing that this was our 3rd visit, and we got engaged to boot! The views are breathtaking, and the home is immaculate, comfortable and peaceful. Trulee is also very responsive and helpful. Would and have been recommending this place to others.

    Eric2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Trulee's place was an amazing find that we will definitely be returning to in the future! I have been visiting this coast for my entire life (almost 30 years) and the spectacular views and proximity to the ocean in this house really captured everything that is so magical about the area. The house was cozy and bright, decorated in a way that was both relaxing and cheery. It was perfectly comfortable for our 3 guests. There was a minor repair needed right before our arrival, but due to the Christmas holiday Trulee wasnt able to find someone to fix it that day. This was no issue, as Trulee was quick to notify me and work with what was convenient for us--even postponing the repair until after our stay at my request. We loved Trulee's place and will be booking a longer trip next time!

  • What a lovely place! The space was very roomy and quiet. The jetted bathtub was a treat as I was visiting for business. The bathroom in general gets five stars as there is a separate very large shower. At night I sat on the patio and marveled at the tree tops and the stars, so beautiful! Bart was extremely gracious to make sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable.

  • We had such a great time at this fantastic treehouse. My kids loved the loft and we had so much fun exploring the property! It was beautiful and such a lovely way to get away from it all. Everyone especially enjoyed the outdoor shower considering how cold the weather was. The hosts were super helpful and accomodating and checked in regularly to make such we were taken care of. The space was wonderful and we loved all the windows that provided such great views! We can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy all of the outdoor amenities!

  • The tree house is magical! The decor is beautifully rustic and the outdoor shower was such a treat. We rented it as a family and it was so perfect for us. Definitely need to come back on a couples retreat. It is super beautiful and such a romantic set up. We visited this last weekend and the wood burning stove kept the house so warm. This was a total treat. If you love the smell of the redwoods and enjoy beauty, this is the place for you. It felt very private and Erin was such a great host. Thank you! Can’t wait to come out again :)

  • Wow! My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and what a great place it is to recharge and unwind. Only 15ish minutes away from the downtown, but still nice and tucked away in the forest. The cooking amenities were great and the outdoor bathing area was so cool. The treehouse had some fun games and books to browse through. Would totally come back again to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

  • We had a lovely time at this cabin! It is a quiet, secluded space surrounded by redwoods and a ten minute drive to downtown Mendo. We enjoyed the incredible stars, peaceful environment, outdoor shower and tub and cozy inside space as well. There’s also an outdoor fire ring with plenty of firewood and tree swing! Highly recommend this place!
