  • Lovely apartment with a great view of the River Ness. The apartment is clean, cozy, and comfortable. There were lovey little touches throughout the apartment and there was cereal, bread, and staples available for us. Rebecca was quick to respond to inquiries and had great tips in the apartment for local restaurants, etc. The apartment is a short walk to pubs, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Had a wonderful stay here! Very clean, perfect location in the centre and close to pretty much everything. Rebecca is a fantastic host, always replied really fast if I had any questions and was very kind to help me out. The studio is cozy, has everything you might need AND offers a gorgeous view over the river from the kitchen, what else could you want? Look no further, this place is perfect for a stay in Inverness! Also very close to public transit, and almost next door to a pub called The Waterfront, which I highly recommend as well. Thank you Rebecca for a great first stay while in Scotland!

  • We stayed at the cottage right at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak. Bruce was extremely flexible on our schedule, which we had to change several times, and checked up on us when we returned to the U.S. The cottage is easily walkable to the center of town, clean, and the internet worked flawlessly. Bruce also stocked the fridge with juice, milk, bread and jelly. We would stay again if we returned to Inverness.

  • Absolutely lovely apartment. Really spacious and clean with plenty of great amenities - I was relieved to find a hairdryer since I didn't have room to pack one myself. I had a very comfortable nights sleep before an early start for hiking the following day. Was definitely a bargain to find such a lovely apartment at a very reasonable price at such short notice. Access to the apartment was really easy and communication with the hosts was excellent. Would happily recommend this place!

  • Wee Ness cottage was perfect. It had absolutely everything we needed and more (some lovely personal touches). The location is perfect as it is so central. Couldn’t ask for more. We felt very welcome on arrival and had some great tips for lovely places to visit! Thank you!

    Amy2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage. All the amenities you can ask for. Very very close to the supermarket! A few steps to the River Ness. Quiet, peaceful, centrally located. A home away from home. The Wee Ness Cottage is a diamond in disguise!

  • Very nice and cosy cottage near the river Ness. Joep was a excellent host, very helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again!

    Ximena2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hosts. They responded quickly and helped with everything we needed from leading up to our visit all the way to when we left. They are very accommodating and made recommendations for where we could visit. They had teas coffee sugar and milk with biscuits on our arrival. The cottage was beautiful and clean within a fantastic location so very easy to walk to places. I can’t say enough how pleased we were!

    Nicole2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline and Joep's place was lovely! Joep met us at the door for check-in (although you can check in independently as well) and gave us a tour of the property. He mentioned everything you'd need to know from the heating to their very cool electric shower and towel warmer. They have some great amenities such as tea and coffee to start you out with on your stay. They also have a washer in the home and then a dryer just a few steps away in a shed in the courtyard. The shed with the dryer was also super clean and had some extra clothes lines for hanging up delicates. Their home was super clean and had such cute images of hairy coos on the walls, which my friend and I personally loved. There are plenty of cozy blankets to use in the living room/bedroom. The TV situation was also great with cable options and an option to cast from your device to the TV. The location is fantastic - right next to the River Ness. It's close to all the city's restaurants and shops too. Just a two minute walk away is the local Tesco (so convenient) and their home is a ten minute walk away from the bus station/train station. Would highly reccomend their home for your stay in Inverness!

2 double bedroom, 2 bathroom riverside modern flat with private parking, outside space, 5 mins walk to city centre. Spring mattresses with down toppers, down duvets/pillows and luxury cotton linens. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, cereals, bread, marmalade, jam for breakfast. Unlimited download internet. Ideal for a city break for two couples or business trip to the highland capital.
My flat is on the river side with lovely views out onto the river with plenty of outside seating, plants, flowers and space to enjoy the vistas and the sound of the Ness flowing by. All mod cons equipped kitchen - espresso maker, washing machine/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, bar style dining table, walnut work surfaces. Shared communal close to access the flat. Good, friendly neighbours. Situated 5 minutes walk from the city centre - close to all amenities. On-site private parking. Bright, light and airy, clean and tidy place to stay.
Riverview is situated in the centre of Inverness in a quiet cul de sac just off one of the main traffic routes in the city. Surprisingly it is very quiet. Riverview is a block of 38 flats, 29 of which are privately owned with the remaining 9 housing association. There are some owner-occupiers, though most of the flats are rented out - some to long term tenants and some like what I'm doing with airbnb, to short-term visitors. Inverness is a city and I'm not blind to its faults but after having lived here for 10 years I find the people open and friendly, more friendly and inquisitive of strangers than you might find in a larger city down south. People are less suspicious and generally open to helping out whatever the situation. Tourism is one of the biggest income generators in the region so everyone is well used to visitors.
  • Amanda's place is conveniently situated - 10 minute walk from lots of restaurants and bars in the city, can also walk to the castle. The walk by the river is pleasant. Her living room opens to amazing river views where you can watch sunrise and sunset. The place is sparkling clean, and she was so kind as to fully stock her kitchen for us. We really enjoyed her home - thumbs up and five stars!

    Sharmin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place is cosy, very clean and welcoming. Check in was easy and we got so much information on how everything works- so, it was all very simple. Communication was nice, quick and efficient. The apartment is situated close to Inverness city centre- you can walk there in about 10 mins. There is a great Fish & Chips shop just across the bridge. On site parking was very convenient. The apartment is well equipped and it is a quiet neighborhood. We would definitely come and stay again. Highly recommended !

  • Love, love loved it! Beautiful river outside, extremely comfortable place to stay. Warm, quiet and yet near enough to town and the amenities. Inverness is a beautiful place, and I would really suggest having a wander on the islands in the middle of the river Ness - truly special.

    Carey2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place! If you want to stay in the view is stunning and the apartment is cozy. If you want to explore the location can’t be beat as there are numerous historical sites, shops, and restaurants to choose from, many within walking distance if you don’t want to drive. Amanda gave thorough and detailed instructions that made our stay easy and stress-free. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with the essentials and the apartment was clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here and hope to come back again!

  • Beautiful apartment in a great spot in Inverness. Such a beautiful little city

    Ian2020-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean. Nice place. Too early check-out is inconvenient. Most surprising: at 1.30 a.m. the road works started in front of the building with pneumatic harmer crushing asphalt. Neighborhoods did not sleep for an hour or so, until police came to calm down the workers.

Small but cosy attic room in an 18th century Highland fisherman's cottage. Very near to the Fairy Glen RSPB reserve, Groam House Pictish Museum, beach (with the most northerly resident pods of bottlenose dolphins in Britain), and bus stop. The Plough Inn is yards away for drinks and meals, as is the Rosemarkie Beach Cafe, and Crofters Bistro. I have a pretty woodland garden, full of birds. A peaceful spot, you are welcome to sit in it for breakfast or just to relax. Make yourselves at home.
Stay in a little bit of history...and the garden is like a mini wildlife reserve. If you are staying a few nights and the weather is mild, you are welcome to use the kettle barbecue. You can choose between a double bed or two singles.

  • This is a great location and minutes from the beach, Claire’s place is exceptionally clean and tidy, and the hamper was gratefully received after hours of travelling, such a great touch. We had a few problems with hot water but this is not Claire’s fault, these things happen and I am sure this will be resolved for the next guests. Communication form Claire was great from start to finish.

  • Claire is a great host, her place is amazing and I would highly recommend.

    Jolene2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's home is just beautiful, in a nice and quiet location, ideal for families like us. We enjoyed our days there a lot!

    Alberto2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire's place was lovely and very inviting. It was about minutes outside of Inverness and honestly it was much better than staying in the city. Rosemarkie is a very quiet sea side town with a beach and trails. The house was immaculate. The fireplace was adorable and easy to use. The bread and milk was super thoughtful! We would absolutely stay again!

    Jessica2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great spot for exploring the Black Isle and surrounding highland. Also a short trip into Inverness is handy where you can find anything and everything. A lovely cottage very well kept.

    Sarah2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the middle of Rosemarkie, everything you can think of catered for by Claire. We attended an event at the Gordon Memorial Hall one night of our stay so this place was perfect!

  • My stay in Alness was great, Eleanor is a lovely host, kind and warm hearted. The accommodation is everything you need, a cosy and well located. The town is only a 10 minute walk, there are also some very good walking and cycling routes too. A walk uptown the Fyish monument on a clear day is fantastic, you get a great appreciation of the Moraty and the beatiful surrounding countryside. I am looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you Eleanor.

Lonnie Farmhouse. Beautiful farm house in tranquil countryside just 5 minutes drive from the airport and 10 minutes drive into town. Guests leaving Scotland for a short holiday and have booked the night before departure as well as a night on their return may leave their vehicles at my home for the duration of their holiday, at no additional cost. Please follow the directions you will be sent from me rather than following the sat nav.
Cozy bedroom with double bed and a private full bathroom. The only visitor you may get is Finn, the cat. She loves meeting people and could try her luck with trying to get a cuddle. The perfect stay over for when you have an early flight from Inverness airport.
My home is a 5 minute drive from the airport and 10 minute drive into town. A rural area so there are no close neighbours but it is the ideal place to go for a walk or to see if you can spot the deer or even a fox.
  • Our expectations were exceeded at this farm house! Spotless bedroom and bathroom- HUGE bathtub/shower. The view was breathtaking. We only stayed one night, but I would love to come back to stay longer. *if you are a cat lover this is a place for you* she has a little cat named Finn who loves cuddles and pets if you left the door open for her! As I was missing my fur babies this was a welcome extra!!! Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book here to stay in Inverness.

  • I can truly say that this is the best Airbnb (bed and breakfast style) place that I have stayed. The room was sparkling and clean and very comfortable with it's big bath, bed and pillows. The view was lovely and it was really convenient to have the microwave, kettle etc. The hospitality of Bill and Terry was outstanding. I really felt like I was welcomed without them being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend this Airbnb.

Bill and Terri were very welcoming and friendly. A good selection of foods was provided for breakfast. The bed was Very comfortable, one can enjoy the seaviews from it too. Everything was very clean. I would highly recommend staying here. There's lots to explore on Black Isle if you're not lucky enough to see the dolphins...

  • Absolutely perfect! The room was everything described and more. Janette looks after you and the room was so comfortable and clean that it made our trip to Inverness 10 times better! You get a good night's sleep, it is accessible to town and a perfect place for a get away.

    Sainimili2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Marcela2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our short stay was very pleasant. The room is very comfortable, clean and Janette provides a kettle, tea and coffee by the bed. The room has a lock and Janette comes regularly to do a little cleaning (empty the trash, etc.) Attention, travelers do not normally have access to the kitchen (even if Janette has kindly agreed to let us eat there simple when present). The proximity to the city center is also very pleasant!

    Béatrice2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Janette went above and beyond to ensure we were extremely comfortable for our brief stay! The room was immaculate, bedding very nice, towels very fluffy (my favourite!). She is an extremely kind and helpful woman and made sure we had parking, knew how to access our rooms, and knew where we were going and what to do. Despite this being a room in a shared cottage, this was more private than some hotel rooms/‘entire place’ stays with AirBnB that I’ve had before. Hands down the best stay for the price that you’ll ever find!

Very modern and stylish with a huge comfortable bed. The place was immaculate. Warm and toasty- just the job for a chilly February. Paul very helpful as well. • This is a wonderful apartment in a wonderful location. It is nice and quiet, in a normal neighborhood. SUPER Clean and very roomy. We loved finding all the extra goodies! Linda, the host is gracious and was great with communication about the place. We highly recommend this location.

    Kara2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every moment of our stay at Linda's place. It is a beautifully decorated apartment that make you feel right a time home. Linda clearly puts a lot of effort into making all guests feel welcome as there was an abundance of welcome treats, lovely bath & shower items and notes about the local area. Linda has stocked the kitchen with good quality cooking equipment and has good quality linen on the bed. She even has a tea set for guests to use, which we loved! The apartment is absolutely spotless! Thankyou for having us and we can't wait to recommend your place to our friends and family at home.

    Stacie2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place was lovely! It was in a nice quiet neighborhood and the apartment itself had everything you would need to feel at home. WiFi is not included but the tv in the living room has cable, and it’s nice to watch a show or a movie at the end of the day. Also the little treats that Linda left us were really nice and thoughtful. I would definitely stay here again!

  • A nice place in walking distance of the high street

    Anna2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Linda’s place is tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable, and sparkling clean. It is a charming, self-contained apartment in a converted, listed property, and is finished to a high standard. The short walk to the train station(less than 5 minutes) makes for easy access to Inverness and the rest of the Highlands. The property is on a leafy, peaceful, cul-de-sac and has great curb appeal. It has everything needed for an extended stay. Nairn has a picturesque harbour and a surprisingly nice, sandy beach. There are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores of interest in town. I highly recommend Linda and her place!!! The only thing that we missed while staying at Linda’s was that there is no WiFi.

  • Great food , hosts happy and friendly , only to happy to help out. Great choice of whisky and local beers

    Angus2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Anderson is a lovely hotel in the middle of a charming village. It’s pretty straight forward: good food, good people and a good night’s rest!

    Hannes2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Anderson is extremely well-situated for traveling by foot. Despite having a car, we spent our three days at Jim's place at Chanonry Point, Rosemarkie Beach, Groam House Museum, Cairds Cave and Fairy Glen Falls and never needed to move the car. Inside The Anderson, we appreciated little touches in the room such as extra USB ports, extra pillows, and a very comfortable bed. The staff members were all friendly and helpful and possessed wicked senses of humor. We greatly enjoyed our time at The Anderson and the hospitality of the people of Fortrose.

    Keri2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place, The Anderson, is probably the best pub we have ever been to with authentic Scottish folk music and a MASSIVE assortment of beer. All of that goodness doesn't even touch how nice of a stay the hotel is, which is was quite fantastic. Fortrose is a beautiful, quiet place that is well worth stopping through (we preferred even over Inverness). As a host, Jim was great and we'd recommend him and The Anderson to anyone and everyone!

    Colin2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jims place is great, we had such a good first night back in Scotland. They have a great restaurant with good food and an awesome whiskey bar :-) Greatly recommended!

    Ilse2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stayed. Fantastic food and drink on offer. Great selection of beers and whisky

    Craig2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We just stayed one night in Jim's hotel and it was very nice. The bed was comfy (and very high) and the bathroom spacious. We like the decoration and the vintage games hanged on the wall. We just had one regret : that we did not have enough energy after our day of hiking to enjoy the bar. It seemed like the atmosphere was very cheerful and we would have loved to join. Maybe another time !

In the immediate vicinity of Rosemarkie there is a long sandy beach which stretches for nearly 6 miles if you get it at low tide. At the opposite end of the village from Ardmara you will find the Fairy Glen. In the village is the delightful little Groam Museum with an amazing Pictish cross. • Hayley and Steve have created a haven on a hill. As so many reviews note, Hayley's enthusiasm and positive energy shine through the entire space and Steve's caretaking of the stunning gardens and bird feeders allows a traveller to feel sanctuary after long but wonderful days exploring. Hayley was full of wonderful and spot on suggestions for food and activities and always available for questions.

A quiet garden chalet in the heart of Fortrose. A small town on the Black Isle with good local amenities. The chalet can host upto 7 guests comfortably and is a great base for exploring the highlands of Scotland. We look forward to welcoming you.
All guests have the entire chalet for their use as well as a private garden to sit in.
The chalet is set in the centre of Fortrose, a stones throw away from the cathedral and harbour. The local Supermarket is less than a minute walk away and buses are regular to Inverness - the capital of the Highlands. The High Street is home to a number of shops including a pharmacy, a post office and cafe/restaurants. You can head to the beach to look for Dolphins or venture to the near by villages to explore.
  • Fortrose is a beautiful town with lots to see in close vicinity to Inverness and the Highlands. James was a wonderful host, very attentive and made the trip very enjoyable. His garden was beautiful and the home was just what we needed for our family.

    Christie2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet was perfect, clean and tidy. James had put the heating on which made it cosy. James was very helpful giving us tips where to eat in Fortrose and local information. Would highly recommend a stay at the chalet and James was a great host.

  • Great place (ratio price vs standard is awesome), great location, awesome host!

    Marcin2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed 1 night at the garden chalet but it had everything we needed. It was comfortable for a family of five. Jamie was very friendly and made our stay easy. It’s a lovely area to explore. Wish we had more time here.

    Michelle2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great wee bolt hole. Spotless. Very well stocked kitchen if you want to self cater. Nice to have tea, coffee and fresh milk. Really friendly host. Bed super comfy. Fortrose is a great wee spot too, beach, dolphins, bakery and cafes in the doorstep.

    Eilidh2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • James was a wonderful host and very patient with us when we asked for the bed configuration changing which needed new bedding. The chalet was well equipped with lovely touches for a short stay like toilet roll, handwash, washing up liquid. Constant hot water (which is rarer than you would think) for a shower which never ran out all the time we were there even though there was four adults taking a shower. It was perfectly placed for exploring The Black Isle and within 5 minutes walk of a CO-OP supermarket, cafe, butchers and pub/hotel for meals. We can recommend the Fortrose cafe as we had an excellent breakfast there and The Anderson Hotel was very good. Don't be put off here by the exterior as the food was excellent and the inside quirky with very friendly staff. Thank you James. We will be back.

    Vicki & Nick2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • James was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Chalet was as described; excellently cleaned and beds were great!

  • This was a lovely and cosy chalet which had everything we needed. The host was very welcoming and friendly, and we felt we only needed to ask if we needed anything. Location was very good - next to a co-op and gorgeous cafe but very quiet. We’ll definitely be back!!

  • Elsie is a fantastic host and the garden room is great value for money.

    Jason2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great Glamping accommodation at an excellent price... perfect for my en-route stop-over to doing the North Coast 500 trip on a motorbike. Note... Pay careful attention to Elsies directions, as just being lazy like me and relying on a post code in google maps won't get you there! But following Elsie's instructions and it's very clear!

    Dave2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great value compared with any other accommodation for the same price. For me, the biggest things would be privateness of stay with having all useful things one would need during the time spent- fridge, microwave, boiling kettle and much more.. It's bit further from city center though the bus stop is just a minute walk away with decent bus connections. Elsie is great host and if you're looking for something that is more than worth the money you pay.. look no more.

    Jakub2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place to stay and Elsie is a lovely thoughtful host. I would definitely stay here again. Very fast wifi, easy access into Inverness. Thank you! :)

    Dan2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very clean and lovely. The check in was easy by using a key box. Everything was just great.

    Sabrina2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Elsie's place is adorable and very comfortable. It is very accurate to the description and even better period. It is the most glamorous "glamping" I've ever done. The bed is extremely comfortable and everything is sparkling clean. I liked it so much that I booked another night when I hadn't planned to stay in Inverness a second night. Elsie is a delight! So personable and kind. A perfect hostess and would-be friend. Also, the home looks over the water! Incredible views!

  • Amazing comfortable bed, very clean, Charlotte was super gentle and we got the possibility to use the kitchen and the BBQ. All in all a perfect host!

    Rebecca2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Charlotte's place. The room is very charming and comes stocked with tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. Breakfast is provided and there was a great variety of foods to choose from. Their two cats are very friendly and adorable. The house is located a short walk away from the beach (unfortunately, we saw no dolphins when we walked by), and within walking distance from several restaurants in town.

    Jennifer2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at Charlotte’s place. She kindly rescued me when I was lost in a storm with a car and let me come into my room earlier than my check in time. The location is perfectly in the central of Chanonry point and Fairy Glen Falls (plus the cute little Groam House museum). The bed and shower is perfect for hikers to have a proper rest. I would definitely recommend here.

It was a bit of a tight fit for four adults, but the cabin had everything we needed and worked just fine for our one night stay. The hot tub was very nice, and we also really appreciated the washer and dryer on the premise! Location very convenient to Culloden battlefield.

Two nights or more recommended - you will regret it if you don't! Our Orchard Room looks out over our small orchard (peaches, plums, apples, pears and cherries, plus grapes in our greenhouse). The Orchard Room offers a kingsize bed without a footboard (better for tall guests!). We also let the twin Meadow Room, decorated with original watercolours. The Black Isle has so much to offer. Don't just pass through. Savour it...
The Bolthole is a separate wing of a 1970s house with lots of authentic features including a primrose bathroom suite (remember those!). Very sunny spot with a pretty garden. Guests enter via our pretty garden (three steps up to door) and then there is a shared hall from which the two (separately let) bedrooms and the bathroom all open. There are tea-making facilities in the hall for everyone.
We are in a very quiet cul-de-sac with six houses. The noisiest thing about it is the herring-gulls on the rooftops! Fortrose is a pretty wee town with an historic cathedral - we can give you a guided tour if you would like that.
  • I had a lovely time at the Chanonry Bolthole, despite some awful weather! Great location, comfortable bed, warm room, good shower and extremely welcoming and helpful hosts.

    Victoria2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely, the best place to stay and discover a non touristic & special place in Scotland, the Black Isle! Vee&Philip are great... and we’ve learnt local stories and seen places we would not have. Breakfast is amazing and the house is so sweet!

  • I strongly recommend you stop wasting time looking for a place to stay... you've already found it! Lol Vee is wonderful, friendly and cook the most spectacular omelette in the galaxy! Her place is great and strategically located if you wanna know the Highlands and Loch Ness!

  • Vee genuinely cares for her guests. She is helpful in making sure guests have a truly local experience of the Black Isle. She uses local ingredients in beautiful breakfasts, is happy to suggest local attractions and places to eat. Great stay where we felt at home.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. Vee is extremely welcoming and provides a delicious breakfast. The bed is very comfortable and the garden is lovely. It’s a short walk to Chanonry Point and its dolphins. Highly recommended.

  • Vee is an extra guest. She is very friendly and speaks very good French. Petit dej at the top. The room is very comfortable and close to the sea. Try to go see the dolphins 5 min and make a detour through the cathedral. The golf restaurant is great and a 10 min walk. We recommend this address.

Our unique house is in a stunning location on the Black Isle. We have jaw-dropping views overlooking Fortrose and Chanonry Point, famous for its bottlenose dolphins. You can sit out on the deck and enjoy the peaceful panorama. The double bedroom and adjoining toilet/shower are upstairs. The guest sitting room is upstairs with amazing views. We are ideally situated for exploring the Black Isle and the wider Highland region, being 12 miles from Inverness and a 35 minute drive from the Airport.
Access to our house is by a single track hill road. We recommend you come by car. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill, and if you are fit you can walk up the hill in 10 -15 minutes. Otherwise with prior agreement we could pick you up from the bus stop. This guest bedroom is upstairs. The private bathroom is opposite the bedroom. The shower is over the bath, which would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, though there is a grab handle on the shower wall. The shared guest sitting room is upstairs. We do not have wheelchair access. For breakfast there is fruit, yogurt, cereals, bread/toast, butter, jam, marmalade, juice, tea or coffee. There is a cat on the property.
We are ideally placed to view the bottlenose dolphins at Chanonry Point, to travel the NC 500, to see ancient Pictish sites and relics, to go to Loch Ness and Inverness, to visit Fort George - an 18th century military fort, or relax on Rosemarkie Beach with a coffee and cake from the excellent Beach Cafe. Nearby we have pony-trekking and lovely walks. The unique village of Cromarty, ten miles north, is well worth a visit.
  • They were very flexible with the check in time the house is spotless and the atmosphere is lovely. The cat is an absolute cutie. Breakfast was good and their hospitality was amazingm. Alison and James are a very kind couple, and great at giving tips as where to go and what to see. We would reccomend staying here very much!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Mid hill House. The accommodation was as described, if not better, and Alison and James's hospitality was outstanding. Using it as our base we managed to explore the area without a car thanks to fairly frequent local buses (even though the house is indeed on a relatively steep hill that may challenge the unfit). Highly recommended for a great escape from the city life.

  • Welcoming hosts who personally greeted us. Were very accommodating in arranging an early breakfast. James kindly suggested activities for a drizzly day. Be mindful that the house is up a steep road a little way off the high street so most suitable for those with transport.

The bedroom, bathroom and living room are just like the pictures, and the breakfast was so delicious! This truly is a unique place to visit, and I would highly recommend it for anybody visiting the highlands and looking for some peace and quiet in a beautiful location.
