Twilight Dreams Farm is a 1786 Farmhouse that is 2,584 sq ft on 20 acres surrounded by 800 plus acres of land trust and adjacent hiking trails. It is rustic with many of the original features. The farm is home to two horses, 26 ducks, 2 cats, and numerous other wildlife. It has ponds, hay fields, walking paths along the perimeter of the property, and a stream. The property across the street is adjacent to miles of beautiful trails along the Shepaug River, which is known for fly fishing.
The house is rustic and has a farmhouse feel. Appliances in the kitchen as well as the washer and dryer are new. The upstairs bathroom is private, the downstairs is shared. There is no dishwasher in the kitchen. The home has four fireplaces, a smoker in the attic, and a summer kitchen in the basement. The propane insert fireplace in the living room and a wood stove in the kitchen sitting area are lovely on cool days and nights. The remainder are decorative only. There is an outdoor firepit, grill, and dining area that is in the middle of the gardens and fields; an absolutely beautiful way to relax and enjoy the property. Overnight stabling for additional fees and requirements is a possibility, with additional lead time. Please let me know in advance if you plan to bring any pets. Thank you for visiting my listing!
Enjoy a famous Sunday flea market; vineyards; breweries; antiques; hiking; biking; arts; canoe and tubing trips; and a wide variety of local farms for fresh meats and vegetables. My property is a historic landmark and well known and photographed for it's iconic Blue Barns. In addition I am adjacent to one of the best trail systems in Roxbury off my property across the street.
  • Anne has created an extremely welcoming and unique home on her boutique farm. Breakfast was local, fresh (duck eggs harvested that same morning), and delicious. The farm houses 2 horses and many ducks, which Anne cheerfully introduced us to. It also is across the road from a network of nice hiking trails. The lodging is comfortable and full of character, not to mention spotless. And Anne’s local recommendations were all spot on. We look forward to coming back soon!

  • This trip was absolutely and completely unexpectedly the most amazing trip that my husband and I ever took. From the moment that our host Anne opened the door to let us in, we knew that we were in for a very special retreat in beautiful Roxbury. We have never experienced such generosity from hosts and it was such an awesome time in every respect that we can’t wait to go back!! We have plenty of photos too capturing this gorgeous landscape!!! Thumbs way up on this diamond in the rough!!

  • Great and thoughtful host and attentive to any needs that we had. Would stay there every time without even looking anywhere else!

    Jeff2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodating hosts, and nice comfortable place to stay that’s close to everything in the area without being in the middle of it all. First place to stay when I go back!

  • Anne and Scott were truly gracious hosts. They went above and beyond our expectations to make us feel welcome and at home on the farm. The house is very cosy and there was always a warm fire into the wood burning stove, and coffee already brewed and tea ready when we woke up. The ducks and horses were a treat, and hiking path across the street was perfect. We had dinner in new Milford at Anne recommendation and lunch in Kent. Anne is very knowledgeable about the are and eager to offer her wisdom. We would love to go back.

  • I can't wait to return. Lovely traditional farm house. Gorgeous farm lands as well as a country path across the street. Rolling hills, a nice stream... They were so hospitable. Breakfast with fresh duck eggs from their flock, jambalaya at night. Very lovely. The house is rustic and charming. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable!

    Jesse2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay! Anne and Scott were very good hosts. We loved hanging out around the fire pit and watching the ducks. The farm is close to a lot of great shops and hiking trails. The fireplace in the house was warm and cozy and really made our autumn weekend in Connecticut very inviting. I didn’t want to leave! We loved it and will definitely go back!

  • Wonderful space with lots of little extras! And if you love the peace and quiet of a rural setting, you couldn't ask for a better location. Pat & Andy are truly super hosts.

  • Great stay. Very nice place with great touches like fresh flowers, stocked fridge with oj, milk and fresh bread. Very clean and very nicely decorated!

    Chuck2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pat and Andy were incredible hosts and the private apartment was so clean and warm and filled with thoughtful touches and yummy amenities. They really have everything. Unfortunately we got caught up with long work days and would have loved to have spent more time and met the dogs but were so comfortable and relaxed when we were there. We cannot recommend their home highly enough and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

    Kevin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best Airbnb stays I’ve ever had! They are lovely hosts. Pat is an amazing baker, and I very much enjoyed that she was willing to share her baked goods with me everyday! The flat itself is beautifully crafted and spotless, with many thoughtful touches. I highly recommend staying here, if you’re in the area.

    Leila2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pat & Andy as hosts are just as wonderful and charming as their space. The space was quiet, comfortable, and had more than what I was expecting for kitchen accoutrements! I worked overnight stretches and the complimentary eye masks/noise machine were a fantastic touch. The baked goods were scrumptious and made me feel right at home. One of the most positive Airbnb experiences I’ve had to date.

    Hannah2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Much better then a bed and breakfast. Quaint with amazing appeal Will go back soon.

    Bryan2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is every bit as advertised and so much more. The details of the building itself are text-book Arts and Crafts. The rooms are so well and thoughtfully appointed that one could easily move in and live there with every convenience provided. The kitchen is very well equipped and the refrigerator was even stocked with fresh "starter" foods. Pat and Andy were warm and helpful hosts and went beyond what was expected ( warm banana bread delivered to the door in the morning!) Tucked into the rural surroundings with treetop views from every window, it felt as if we were living in a grown-up version of a fantastic treehouse.

If you want to hike on miles of well marked trails White Memorial Foundation is for you and only 15 minutes away. Whether you stay for a weekend or a week you'll find our guest suite comfortable, convenient and a terrific value perfectly located for all that northwest Connecticut has to offer.  A Note About Cleanliness- If you read my reviews you will notice that many begin with a sentence about how clean they found the space. With the flu season in full swing and the looming Corona threat I want guests to know that I do all I can to minimize contamination. Here is an example of what I routinely do to prepare for a new guest party: Wear rubber gloves while cleaning to protect myself. All linens are washed in hot water, detergent and bleach. Every time! Freshly washed comforters and blankets are on all beds. I have 4 sets. The bathroom is cleaned with Lysol products. Wipe all door handles, remotes and handrails with antibacterial wipes. Wipe down kitchenette sink and food prep surfaces with Lysol cleaning spray. Dirty dishes, flatware and glassware are cleaned in my dishwasher.
Breakfast on the go? Try Little Town Deli on East St. Right out of the driveway, turn right at blinking light at the green. Tasty breakfast sandwiches and Green Mountain coffee. Or head down the hill (left out of driveway) to Big Daddy's at the corner of 61 and 6. Hearty breakfasts are served here along with a helping of local flavor. They also deliver to Bethlehem, $20 minimum order. There are several restaurant flyers in the welcome binder. Bethlehem is approximately halfway between New York City and Boston in beautiful Litchfield County. It's next door to Woodbury, noted for its many antique shops and near stops on the Connecticut Wine Trail. Historic homes like Bellamy-Ferriday House and Garden and Glebe House are just minutes away or see how native Indians lived at Washington's Institute For American Indian Studies. If you want to hike on miles of well marked trails White Memorial Foundation is for you and only 15 minutes north. Less than 2 miles away March Farms offers cherry, strawberry, blueberry, peach, pumpkin and apple picking in season, baked goods and a terrific play area for kids as well as seasonal events and activities.
  • This is an awesome space, impeccably clean and very nicely appointed. Very open and airy with skylights throughout. It's located in a peaceful rural area, and yet it's not far from several great restaurants and the Woodbury antiques district...there's even a movie theater located in a converted barn in nearby Bantam, that specializes in showing primarily indie and art films. If you're already familiar with the area, this makes a great base of operations...if not, you'll have a blast exploring all there is to see in the Litchfield hills. Janice is a great host who will offer as much (or as little!) interaction as you might desire. Highly recommended!!! Thanks Janice, for a great experience.

  • A wonderful, cozy, and quiet place.

    Adam2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We have travelled to CT for Christmas for the past 30 years sleeping on floors and couches. This was PERFECT for us! It was so wonderful to have beds, privacy, and lovely extra touches! Janice put up a tree and there were 2 'fireplaces', we loved the teapot and coffee maker and great snacks! Thank you Janice-hopefully we will see you next Christmas too!

    Darlene2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed here several times and have always felt welcome, safe, and comfortable. It is a refreshing place to be.

  • Janice's place is very comfortable, clean and inviting. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Dawn2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Janice had a very nice upper level all updated, clean, welcoming and easy to find. She had fluffy white towels, soft bedding, updated styling in the bathroom and a mini kitchen with a light breakfast (milk, cereal, OJ, coffee) available in the fridge upstairs. We enjoyed our stay and even watched a movie with the Roku program available. She provided wifi and information on the local area. Janice was a kind host who was welcoming to our family.

    Marla2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, good location. We came here for a wedding in town and it was perfect for what we needed.

    Catherine2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Janice is a wonderful host and came to introduce herself to us while we were staying there, but otherwise respected our privacy and let us be the entire stay. The place was very clean and exactly as pictured. She left plenty of breakfast snacks, milk, coffee, and juice which was great. The TVs all have a Roku connected so you're able to watch all your Netflix, Hulu, etc. shows if you happen to have some downtime. Highly recommend this place if you're staying in the area in CT. Also recommend renting a car if you're traveling around the weekend; Ubers and rideshare services are harder to come by the later it gets. Just book, you won't regret it!

A spacious, very quiet, completely private first floor room with its own entrance at the back of my 1844 Italianate Victorian. There’s a queen bed, 2 upholstered chairs, and a wood table with 4 chairs where you can bring in food, your laptop, or borrow a game or jigsaw puzzle! The half bath is on the first floor, with a full bath (shower, no tub) on the second floor. The access and use is completely private.
This sunny room is large but very cozy with 10’ ceilings, reading lamps for reading in bed, an antique Hoosier cabinet containing coffee and tea making equipment with a variety of coffee and teas, a small fridge, a corkscrew with wine glasses, and a bottle opener. There’s a queen bed, lots of pillow options, and 2 upholstered chairs. The table offers plenty of space to work or draw, bring in food or play a game. The back yard and patio is a quiet place to relax with a table and chairs, and a swing seat hanging from the sycamore tree. The half bath is on the first floor, with a full tiled bath (shower, no tub) right above it on the second floor. This access is up one flight of stairs (they are somewhat steep and shallow, the old servant's stairs) and is completely yours alone, with nothing shared or access to or from the house. New Milford boasts one of the loveliest greens in New England. I'm in walking distance (under 5 minutes), there are many wonderful restaurants, a movie theater, live theater, fun shops, great breakfast spots and a newly opened walking/biking trail along the Housatonic River. With Roxbury and Washington to the east, Kent and Litchfield to the north, and so many other charming towns in the area, you’ll be centrally located for wining, dining and adventure. My home is situated between Canterbury School and the town green, and is a 5 minute walk in either direction. Saturday mornings host a vibrant farmers market from 9 to 12. Fresh plants, veggies and fruits, breads, beer, cider donuts, goat cheese and goat soap, natural pet food, local meats and farm fresh eggs are all available from local vendors.
Very quiet, the room is on the back of the house with little road noise. Parking is in the back as well and completely safe.

  • We had a lovely stay for the night at Pat’s place. Pat met us in person and talked us through everything in the suite, as well as giving us some brilliant recommendations for dinner and drinks in New Milford. The town is really cute and there’s plenty to do there. After dinner we made the most of the board games cupboard and had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. Thanks Pat!

  • Beautiful, private property in bucolic Roxbury with great amenenties and James was very easy and quick to communicate with.

    Daniel2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • James was great! He responded very quickly whenever we reached out with any questions. The house was beautiful and a lot bigger than we expected.

    Tara2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jame's house is an amazing place to relax with friends or family. Nestled in the wood, this home offers great privacy and natural views. The pool and hot tub are two of the best amenities this home offers. We spent the majority of our trip relaxing by the pool and cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen. I highly recommend this house and would definitely stay here again. James is a great host and always got right back to me if we had any questions.

    Kevin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at the Roxbury house! The place is beautiful. Location is very private and peaceful, surrounded by woods. Pool and the hot tub are amazing as well. House was super clean and fully stocked. We couldn’t have asked for more. James was a great host and incredibly accommodating. Highly recommended.

    Sylvester2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Second year in a row and it keeps getting better. James cares for his home lovingly. This year he had updated two rooms and added a luxurious hot tub on a new deck. The pool was the perfect temperature without using the solar cover. The beautiful kitchen had everything we needed for our gourmet cooking. James welcomes his guests and genuinely opens his home so we had a great time. It may have been said before, but it is worth repeating: Stay here!

    Betsy2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at James' place. Much more spacious than we realized from the pictures, was a very comfortable spot for a group of 6 of us to relax. James was quick to respond and had a friend of his let us in and show us around.

    Mark2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • James was an easy-going and accommodating host. His place was well appointed. Our team enjoyed his hospitality.

    Geoffrey2015-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful, and James was very accommodating—even when we got stuck in city traffic and were late to check in. We were there for a wedding in the same town, and it was super convenient to be so close to the festivities and to have our own space for down time.

The River House by Kara, is all about serenity situated directly on the Pomperaug River in Southbury, Connecticut. Right in the backyard you are able to read a book in a hammock, grill out and eat outdoors, make a campfire or enjoy some fishing and swimming. Inside it is a cozy cabin with comfortable beds, entertainment via TV/WiFi/DVD. There is a fully stocked kitchen, breakfast nook with extendable table and the bathroom has a full size shower/tub and washer and dryer.
The entrance is in the back with a digital lock. The front of the house I have a mud room and it is locked with some maintenance things in there but the rest of the house is yours!!!
Southbury is an amazing New England town. Our location is on a side road which makes you feel like you are in the country but actually we are located within walking distance to Laurel's Diner, the Riverview Cinema, an ice cream shop, grocery store, Walgreens and more. I will put more details in binder on the kitchen counter.
  • Karas River Cabin was awesome! It’s a perfect little secluded spot by the river. My 2 young boys, husband and myself fit perfectly in her cabin, it was actually bigger then we expected. We spent hours on the river throwing rocks, lounging in her hammocks , making a fire and grilling. She has tubes tied to a tree so you can lounge in the river, pretty awesome. It’s a quiet street, and there are other neighbors that live there year round, so it’s quiet and not a party place. We were able to walk up the street about a half a mile where there were hiking trails. We wish we brought a fishing pole, definitely will next time! Thanks Kara so much, we had an awesome time and will for sure back this summer!

  • Great location, great scenery. Perfect for a weekend getaway and relaxation.

    Kendrick2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and quiet we had a nice night relaxing by the fire listening to the river. Plenty of space and the worlds comfiest couch!

    Gabrielle2020-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. We especially liked spending time by the firepit and in the hammock listening to and watching the river and birds. It was a nice escape for a couple of days and Kara couldn't have been more responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our stay.

    Jason2020-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, easy to find. Quaint and comfortable.

    Anna2020-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying at Karas cabin!! She was an excellent host in every way, from the completely accurate description of where and how you’ll be staying to the speedy response time all the way down to check in and check out. I stayed with my fiancé and his two year old and we were completely comfortable the whole time with everything we needed to truly feel like we were living right on the river for the night. 10/10 in every department and we will definitely be staying again in the future!!!

    Brie2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin at the river by Kara has been the greatest place to stay we could have hoped for to have a smooth transition for our new life in the USA. We spent a whole month being a family of 5 in the cabin. Fully furnished, great location, super quiet and relaxing with the river. The deco in the cabin is nice and the place is cosy. Kara is a super host who was very reactive and very supportive during our entire stay. We highly recommend this cabin and host. Thanks again Kara.

  • Jonathan’s house is as beautiful as the pictures suggest. It was perfect for our family weekend in the country. Not pictured in the listing is a great basement with large-screen TV for movies. The house was perfectly clean when we arrived and Jonathan was responsive any time we had questions or needed anything. My favorite amenity was the top notch record player and great selection of music. Highly recommended to stay here with friends/family for a weekend.

  • I almost don't want to leave a review for fear of giving away this secret. Such a perfect escape from NYC... even with two little kids in tow. Gorgeous grounds, stylish and well-appointed house, gracious hosts, and surprisingly great food around town.

    Kelly2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re comparing properties, just stop and stay at Jonathan’s place. It’s the perfect getaway! We spent a long weekend there and have nothing but good things to say. The house is modern and stylish, but it is also cozy and has everything you need. The property is secluded and peaceful. You’re immersed in the woods of Connecticut and it’s perfect for relaxing. On top of everything we made a lot of use of the pool, the outdoor grill, and of course—karaoke. What’s not to love?!

    Kim2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with impeccable finishes. We enjoyed Jonathan’s home immensely, was a perfect peaceful retreat. Highly recommend staying here!

    Jason2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • There are endless superlatives I could use to describe Jonathan's home in Washington--in short, I would describe it as comfortably elegant. And I would implore anyone considering it, no matter the time of year, no matter the duration of stay, to experience it. Firstly, the setting is spectacular--picturesque vistas coupled with a strong cultural presence made Washington, CT one of the more memorable towns I have visited. Furthermore, Jonathan's property is set on 25 pristine acres. For a city slicker like myself, I would call it 25 acres of wilderness but it is actually a stone's throw away from anything you can possibly need--be it groceries, appreciating the arts or simply visiting the cows at the local dairy farm! Secondly, the home itself is perfect. Jonathan has it full of convenient touches with the guest in mind, including welcoming us with fine chocolates, a bottle of wine and some suggestions on how to enjoy Washington including a spa menu. The home has an open floor plan with a large great room with a fully equipped and modern kitchen opening up into the dining area which flows into a comfortable living area complete with an amazing sofa, chairs and a deep, large fireplace that frames a fire perfectly--and firewood for weeks! The kitchen has everything you can ask for--in addition to the standard you'd expect in cutlery, dishes, pots, etc., the pantry is stocked with anything you might need for a dash of this and a pinch of that if you plan to bake or cook--and we did plenty of both. Walking down the hallway, past the incredibly convenient Nest system, are three comfortable bedrooms with the very finest of beds and linens--as well as two sparkling clean bathrooms. There is a spiral staircase that leads down into a lower level which has another living area complete with abundant and comfortable seating, large flatscreen and even a karaoke machine! As alluring as it is to remain indoors, his property is fun to explore. Bring comfortable shows and spend an afternoon exploring trails. While the temperature wouldn't allow it on my trip, if you stay in the summer, there is a beautiful pool with the perfectly serene backdrop of nothing but trees and privacy. I cannot imagine how the experience Jonathan provides could be any better... This is a 5-Star+ home... go see for yourself!

    Frank2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan's home was beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. It had everything we could have needed - tons of records to listen to, a well-stocked kitchen for cooking, and comfortable areas for hanging out. The house was an ideal, peaceful getaway for a long weekend out of the city. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return!

The bank barn is on a registry of historic barns as is a spring house, where the fresh milk was kept cool until it went to market. An outhouse dating to an earlier era, although no longer in operation, provides yet another historical detail. The farmhouse was modernized in the 1980s, with beautiful finishes throughout, including bead board ceilings, wainscoting, built-ins, crown moldings and other classic details. The property is set in a beautiful valley. A steam babbles year round about 10 feet from the back deck. We are located very close to The Gunnery School, so this would be an ideal location for visiting parents. Taft, the Canterbury School and Rumsey Hall are also within easy driving distance.
The property is in Roxbury situated a quarter mile from the Washington town line and very close to the Washington Green and Washington Depot. Roxbury's town center is approximately 10 minutes away. Woodbury is 10 minutes, Litchfield is 20 and Kent is 30. This is classic New England countryside with rolling hills, babbling brooks, working farms, and historic buildings. There are many places to swim, hike, bike and kayak within a 15-minute drive. Litchfield County has a number of highly regarded restaurants, including the Mayflower Grace, which is just a few minutes away, plus several notable breweries and distilleries.
  • We enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing week at this farmhouse, reading quietly, warming by the fireplace, and enjoying the lovely view of the brook out back. The house was very tidy, well appointed and exceeded our expectations. Jeff was terrifically responsive and hospitable. We felt at home (but thankfully away from home), and would certainly like to come back.

  • The house was great for our group of people in town for a natural farming course in a nearby town. Great host, beautiful house, and beautiful location. Would definitely stay again.

  • It's amazing staying in a place that's truly equipped for children: bunk beds, crib, baby gates, books, toys, sand box! Adult amenities were also appreciated: BBQ, well-stocked kitchen supplies, and basic spices and condiments. I was in town visiting my parents and this was the perfect spot for us. More than enough room for my immediate fam, but also plenty of accommodations for visiting aunts/uncles/cousins. Having lived in the area I was amused by Jeff's description of local stores and restaurants, which I thought were spot on. I also learned about some breweries and spots! Thanks Jeff & Anne!

  • Lovely house next to a babbling brook in the green Connecticut countryside. Perfect for our family with small kiddos - lots of thoughtful and sweet touches like the string-lights in the bunk beds and bath toys. All the amenities we could ask for including a water cooler! Jeff was great about communicating and checking to make sure all was good. House manual was informative and gave great local tips. We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area. One of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve had.

  • The house was adorable, in a great location, and very homey. The instructions for operating everything was very clear and Jeff answered emails immedietly. The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms up to date and clean. Having the brook so close to the house is very pleasant and soothing. The kitchen had everything we needed to make it a great stay. Thank you Jeff for a great week.

  • Brian and his wife are a wonderful team host. From booking to check in, and check out—very smooth process. Brian provides so many opportunities to make this trip “our very own”, from local places to shop fresh to the many awesome amenities of the house. Fresh linens, towels, huge spice and kitchen / bbq tools.... this place has all the amenities of a resort but with the vibes of a cozy home. There are also three beautiful horses on the property and we appreciated a chance to feed them! I’d recommend this place and Brian as a host for sure.

If you're looking to relax and unwind, this is the spot for you. If you're coming from the city, you'll need a car since there isn't much public transportation, but it wasn't an issue for us!

My home is in a semi-rural setting and is close to great views, parks, hiking trails, wineries. You’ll love my place because of the views, the serenity, the ambiance and the sounds of nature. Very comfortable bed, extra blankets, private bathroom. Pets allowed @ $20/pet/night payable upon reservation (through an alteration to the reservation).
Gorgeous views of the foothills of the Berkshire mountains, a quiet little stream on the property, sliding glass doors from your guest room to the expansive lawn with two Adirondack chairs. You may see wild turkey, a fox family, deer, chipmunks and a woodchuck. Feel free to ask me for the lawn games (giant jenga, super sized connect four, tetherball, horse shoes, croquet).
The neighborhood is so quiet and the sky is so dark with amazing star viewing. Feel free to use the binoculars or telescope.

  • J.E. was incredible. We were left “homeless” (in between homes) in the middle of the pandemic which created unusual circumstances. All of a sudden both my wife and I who work in the tech industry had to work full time from J.E.’s place. High speed internet was critical and J.E. went to extensive lengths to quickly accommodate. Blazing fast is what he now has which should easily accommodate all guests streaming at once. More examples of J.E.’s quick responsiveness coupled with handyman skills were replacing a broken kitchen faucet and a heater thermostat. I wouldn’t want the reader to assume this information represents a run-down premises. That couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact J.E. has recently been upgrading everything and so these are just a couple of items that needed the kinks ironed out. J.E. was quick to offer suggestions on best places to walk, shop, and was willing to do anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The location is fabulous on 3 tree filled acres. Sitting on the deck enjoying the setting sun listening to the variety of bird sounds was very relaxing. Close to numerous hiking trails and shopping makes this an ideal location for everyone. Thanks for everything J.E.

    Mitch2020-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious residence not far from anything you may need. J.E. is a gracious and responsive host willing to improve ones stay as best he can.

    Mitch2020-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was sparkling clean, very spacious, and had the essentials. Location was in a quiet/private area, yet very close to restaurants, gym, and shopping plaza (7-10 min drive). Communication was great and we were given local tips on places to eat. Including the Oxford Bakery, which was the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. I would absolutely recommend to a friend.

  • There is so much to say about this lovely apartment. The first thing you notice as you pull up is the gorgeous meadow and a lush tree line at the edge of the property. During my stay Winter turned to Spring and the awakening of blooms brought the property to life in a rather unexpected way, with wild flowers and birds that span the rainbow of colors and a bounty of songs. Walking through the duplex apartment you get a country cottage feel that welcomes the heart and allows the eyes to rest on thoughtfully appointed decorations, books, fabrics, and a kitchen that inspires the imagination of any cook. I stayed here for a month's time and could not have asked for a better hostess than Margee. Kind and nurturing, Margee was there to answer all of my questions and to assure my settling in and thriving while on her property. I cannot wait to come back here and highly recommend this space for anyone looking to feel at home and to be nourished by nature.

  • Thank you Margee for a wonderful stay at your beautiful house. We really appreciated the personal welcome and tour. You made us feel so welcomed and at home. We came for a work trip and after work each day it was so nice to go back home to your place. We loved all the space on two floors and the kitchen was so well equipped for us to make a home dinner which we really appreciated because we are vegetarians. We were so honored to be your first guests and we wish you much success. Thank you again very much and we would be so happy to come again! Tegan and Jonathan

The place was very clean and for most of all the host is really sweet! She came and checked on me and made a lovely breakfast in the morning! If I was to go back to the area I would definitely stay again!

  • Very beautiful, clean & peaceful. A great getaway if you want a break from every day stresses of life. I am city girl (born & raised) so it great place to get away from the noise. Victoria made breakfast which was a wonderful bonus & delicious I might add:)

    Ashley2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria was so accommodating and we appreciated the privacy and quietness of the location. She even offered homemade breakfast! We recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway

  • We were so happy to find this wonderful place! We had my parents visiting from out of town but with major house construction going on we couldn't house them. My parents enjoyed talking with their gracious host!

  • Janice's place was fantastic and perfect in every sense. The house itself was truly beautiful and ideal, and the land and farm areas on the property were stunning. The entire place is surrounded by spectacular nature on their land. It is large enough to take nice walks on the property itself, with a pond, barns, horse fields and more. The home has everything you could need. But most importantly, Janice was simply the most amazing host ever. She made space for us in a moment where we really needed a place, and she did it with care and genuine warmth and hospitality and grace. Highest recommendations.

  • I stayed at Janice's farm for 2 nights and was so enchanted by the experience! If you're just looking for a quiet time away, the place is great on it's own as the apartment is comfortable, immaculately clean & well appointed. There are a number of dining options nearby and activities as well - but that's not why I'd go here...I am a huge animal lover and was delight to learn about Janice's on-premises animal rescue program. Janice was kind enough to give us a tour of her barn where we met 3 gorgeous horses, a family of adorable goats, 2 healthy sheep, 2 chunky pigs (who were wrapped up in a comfy blanket together) and some rabbits! Janice told us the story of each animal and how they came to live with her. Outside of the animals in the barn, we really loved waking up each morning and looking out the windows to see a huge variety of birds milling about/looking for food. I can't recommend this place enough - it was easily the best airbnb I've stayed in in the Northeast. Go for it!

  • There are not enough adjectives in the world to express how incredibly welcoming Jan and Kathy are! They not only allowed us to get married on their property, but did everything they could to help it go beautifully. On top of stocking the fridge for breakfast and snacks, they gave us an adorable wedding cake and wine to celebrate when we returned from dinner. The apartment itself is beautifully renovated, clean, and makes you feel right at home! The skylight was so cool to stargaze and watch the storm we had during our stay! It also goes without saying that the love the animals receive comes back to everyone in ten fold. I got loves from their beautiful rescue puppy pack and kisses from one of the horses when we first arrived! The serenity, love, and absolute kindness makes this home the best trip and most incredible location to say I Do. I cannot wait to get to go back for an anniversary!

  • Staying at C&C Rush Haven Farm was the absolute best experience, far surpassing our expectations! Being that my husband and I live in Brooklyn, we desperately wanted an escape from the city. Which is exactly what we got in Litchfield Hills. It is beautiful and serene, especially during the autumn season! Staying at Janice's place felt like we were staying at our own private sanctuary. Peaceful, relaxing and breathtaking! Janice is truly a special soul, she made our stay unique by adding thoughtful touches throughout the apartment! She provided wonderful recommendations of things to do and places to eat and always communicated very well. It is not the places you go that make the experience great, but the people you meet along the way. Being able to meet Janice and her family, made our experience in Bethlehem that much more rewarding! We have already made this our go-to spot every fall! If you love nature, enjoy great food and want a truly special place to stay, you must visit C&C Rush Haven Farm!

  • What a beautiful weekend staying at C & C Rush Haven Farm! The apartment is divine with easily accessible private entrance, cloud-like bedding, a wonderful lounge space and really accented by a team of hosts who have truly thought of every need you may have. I was fortunate enough to enjoy Jan & KC's company as hosts and sitting on the porch, sipping hot coffee in the cool breeze by the garden is absolutely divine. They made some great suggestions about nearby attractions, hikes, antiquing and other great experiences (alpaca walking is a MUST!) and were easily accessible to answer any questions about the area with their wealth of knowledge. Easy parking and check-in was a plus. Can't recommend C & C Rush Haven Farm enough and can't wait to plan my next trip!

    Torey2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • C&C Rush Haven Farm, and hostesses Janice and Kathy, far surpassed my expectations. The farm is beautiful and idyllic, and Janice, with whom I had the most contact, encouraged my use and enjoyment of the property, which I did just strolling around admiring the flowers, enjoying the animals and a morning of pond-side yoga. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped with anything you need for your stay. But if you find something lacking, the hostesses will be on it to ensure you have what you need. Their generous spirit is what really made my stay special. I'd asked Janice where to shop for gluten free groceries and she recommended I come to the apartment before shopping. I found it stocked with GF breads, cookies, muffins, as well as fresh eggs, dairy products from the local dairy, and lots of organic produce, including from their garden. Not to mention a selection of coffee and teas. The only thing I would change about my stay is to have it extended beyond the three nights I was there. Cannot recommend C&C enough!

A wonderful place to get away to and have summer fun at the Lake! This adorable 2 bedroom cottage is located in this beautiful lake front community. Enter the home through the 3 sided window porch, for a taste of the light that shines in this home and view. Tons more sunlight and peekaboo views fill the open concept kitchen, dining and living room with a cozy wood burning brick fireplace. The Candlewood Knolls is a private, gated water community on beautiful Candlewood Lake with 3 beaches!!
Beautiful and friendly neighborhood. The setting is just breathtaking with lake views from this cozy cottage stocked with everything you need. Open concept with two private bedrooms. Sit in the screened in porch which also has views of the lake.
Candlewood Lake is a beautiful area surrounded by trees and cute cottages and cabins alike. Restaurants, shops and hiking just minutes away. Antique shops and shopping centers minutes away. Very family friendly.
  • Our stay was very lovely. The cabin has beautiful views in a charming lake community. We took walks every day and enjoyed the scenery and gorgeous homes. The cottage itself was very cozy and homey. Master bed was comfy but my favorite part is the living room kitchen area. Nice big fridge, storage for food, toaster oven and full size oven. Nice plates and bowls. Big comfy couch and tv. It's a thoughtful space and a nice little getaway. The host is great. Very responsive

    Donna2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little cottage for a family of four. There is everything you need, games, blankets, even a bed for your dog. The walk to the lake is beautiful!

  • Sparkling clean cottage, bright and airy, located in a private community within a very short walk to Candlewood Lake. The cottage has beautiful views of the lake, sunsets are great. The host, Barbara is wonderful, very responsive. This property is a must!

  • What a beautiful little place. It was quiet, clean and everyone was super friendly.

    Michael2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The environment here is beautiful, the owner takes care of the details, the supplies are complete, and the communication with the owner is good. We feel warm and comfortable, and feel at home. We will come next year.

  • Nice view of the lake Walking distance to 2 small beaches - but very nice, peaceful and clear, refreshing water. Cozy, clean cottage in great lakeside community with a lot to do in the summer Great for kayakers or boating, water sports A short drive to small town with cafes, starbucks, grocery Nice quick summer getaway from Westchester Family oriented location Thank you Barbara, outside of food, everything we needed was thoughtfully provided for us, including fresh flowers! Well-done. We’ll definitely be back to Candlewood Lake

    Jill2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a family weekend at the lake! The kitchen and bathroom were well equipped (including a BBQ and table outside so you can grill and eat dinner while the sun goes down behind the trees), there was a new daybed that let us spread out a bit more, and the living room was bright and comfortable. Two short blocks from the nearest public lakefront, and a longer walk (or very short drive) to an even nicer one down the road.

    Nicole2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • It's hard to know what to write other than Barbara was great, accommodating, and very responsive. The Cottage was perfect for us - clean, a few houses off the water, a few minutes to the beach, a great pub for lunch and ice cream! Thank You Barbara!

Perfect stay if you are visiting one of the many area Prep schools. 5 minutes to The Gunnery, Rumsey Hall, Canterbury schools. Love to hike? Wonderful trails in the area, The Famous Elephant's Trunk Flea market just 6 miles away. If antiquing is your thing, you can reach Woodbury, New England's antique capital in 15 minutes. Or just come and relax by the fire on a cool autumn night.
Large cheerful bedroom with vaulted ceiling. Tons of natural light from 3 floor to ceiling windows, and a sumptuous King size bed to curl up in. Feel free to sit in the den and cozy up to the fireplace or grab a book and enjoy a glass of wine. The entire house is a quiet and relaxing space.
Our home is located at the end of a private Road containing 8 houses.each of which have significant wooded areas to provide privacy and quiet. The town is a picture postcard New England town possessing all of the quaint vistas one would expect, as well as world class dining and boutiques. Surrounded by similarly bucolic towns in Litchfield County at the foot of the Berkshire mountains. Autumn, my personal favorite is stunning
  • What a great experience!! I can't say enough about the incredible hospitality!! The house is lovely and they made me feel at home!! Nothing better after a long day - to get to your airbnb and have such a lovely experience.. Will definitely be back!!

  • Amazing place! The hosts were attentive yet not intrusive. The amenities were beautiful and comfortable. The accommodation elegant. Breakfast was to die for. I’d return in a heartbeat!

  • This is the best Airbnb experience I’ve had, and I’ve had many. Imagine the oldest greatest colonial home possible But completely clean and new construction. The integrity of this house and Hosts (who put together the most beautiful breakfast in the morning) is unlike any I’ve come across. Honestly, I felt as if I was staying in a five-star hotel.

    Jon2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Firstly, the directions for finding the house were spot on. Upon entering we smelled aromas of apple cider brewing, it was lovely. The house is immaculate and very nicely decorated. It was fun to even walk around and see some of the furniture and art pieces. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable, we had use of our own bathroom on our floor as the hosts stayed in another part of the house. Very thoughtful touches, there were amazing mini dessert snack bars baked by the host and we had the most amazing breakfast with them in the morning. All cooked fresh and from scratch; eggs, home fries, pancakes, fruit and yogurt, coffee, apple cider, muffins, bacon...unbelievable, we are still dreaming of it. They were the best hosts we’ve had so highly recommended stay!

  • Jeff and Kurt were incredibly sweet hosts that went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. The house is stunning and immaculate. The room itself was serene and perfect for quick weekend getaway. The treats by the side of the bed were an especially nice touch. Highly recommend if you're looking to explore Connecticut's charming towns.

  • Jeff and Kurt are wonderful hosts. With Kurt being a professional chef, the food is nothing short of amazing. Everything was extremely clean and cozy. The house is set beautifully. They made us feel very special. They set the bar for B and B's. Its everything and more than what you would expect.

    Shannon2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey and Kurt were amazing hosts. You will not be disappointed with your stay in this roomy, beautifully decorated home. It draws you in and makes you feel so comfortable. Our hosts were entertaining and made sure we had everything we needed. This started with homemade delicious sweets at our bedside when we arrived after a 5.5 hour trip. The quality through out this home is noteworthy. Our hosts were attentive and wonderful cooks. They were ready with suggestions for sightseeing and directed us to two nice hiking spots. Our bedroom was so quiet and spacious. The bathroom was perfect. We have already started considering the same weekend with them again next Fall. Thank you Jeffrey and Kurt for making our second AirB&B stay a remarkable experience.

  • Very stylish place, a step back to the old colonial era. Breakfast was amazing. Host was there when you needed him but invisible otherwise. Highly recommended place.
