Places to stay in Sagada
Gawis is a private room at the lower floor of Inandako's BnB. It contains a queen bed with its own private bathroom. It also has a view of Mt. Kanip-aw and part of the Echo Valley from its windows. Perfect for couples or solo travelers. Gawis is a local term which translates to 'good' -- a central theme in the iSagada culture. The town's motto is, 'Ipeyas nan Gawis.', Share the Good. - - Please read our listing descriptions to manage expectations regarding our location and services.
Inandakos started out as a small homestay in 2009, catering to backpackers, artists, and friends of friends. With Sagada solidifying its place in the mainstream of mass tourism in recent years, we have opened our home as a bed and breakfast with the objective of promoting responsible travel to our guests without taking away any of the comfort they deserve. Staying with us would also guarantee a sumptous breakfast to build up energy for all the activities one could do in this mountain town; of course this comes with all-day availability of our town’s famous brewed coffee. The place is located in Barangay Dagdag but it is not along the busy main road so one needs to walk a bit off the beaten track to get to our house. For those bringing a car, there is a parking area about 100 meters from Inandako’s but it is accessible via a dirt road. The house has 8 rooms, 3 of which are used by our family and the rest are for guests. The rooms are private but all areas outside the rooms are shared spaces. -------- “Inandako” People in Sagada call or address mothers by attaching the name of their first born. Ina, like the Filipino term is an Igorot term for ‘mother’; Inan in Kankanaey(*1) means ‘mother of’. Therefore the term inandako means ‘mother of Dako’. The owner’s son’s gubbaw(*2) name or Igorot name is Dako, shortened from Didako – the Igorot name of his paternal great grandfather. __ (1) Kankana-ey is the language spoken by the people of Mountain Province and some parts of the Benguet Province in Northern Philippines. (2) Gubbaw is a naming ritual in the i-Sagada culture. When a baby is born he/she is given an Igorot name from his/her parental lineage to keep the name alive. LOCATION We are not along the main road and our guests would have to take a 200m long pathway from there to our house. We would not recommend guests to bring heavy suitcases and lots of luggage if they plan to stay with us. We would also discourage PWDs, senior citizens, and non-adventurous guests to book our place as the extra walk may just be a burden for them. We are also in the downtown area, around a kilometer away from the bus stop and around 800m walk until the pathway entrance. Directions to our home would be available once the room is booked. PARKING Our parking area is off-site and is located in a grassy field approx. 150m from the house. Please keep this in mind if you will be bringing extra luggage. ESTABLISHMENTS NEAR US (within 700 meters) Yoghurt House Lemon Pie House Salt and Pepper Restaurant Sagada Brew Sagada Hub Black Door Restaurant Ayeona's Souvenirs Sagada Bistro Bana's Cafe Vincent's Grill
Sagada is a peace zone and is very safe, even for tourists who like to walk around and go places late at night. Inandako’s does not have a curfew but we ask our guests to always be considerate of others.
  • If you’re reading this, go ahead and book your stay in Inandako’s! It’s a lovely house with breathtaking views from three verandas. Alma was very helpful with recommendations, provided us with a tour guide, served the best breakfast and I enjoyed long talks with her in which she would tell stories about the history of Sagada and its native culture and traditions. Also I lost my heart to her cat. I will come back to Sagada just for Inandako’s BnB!

  • Auntie Alma opened not only her beautiful home but her her heart as well, and shared her warm and deeply personal stories, history of Sagada and best finds. She even ordered freshly picked strawberries for us. Her Home was over looking parts of the Echo Valley. It was clean and homey. Her Daily breakfast iwas something you should look forward to. The kalabasa pancit was awesone, with fresh herbs and spices from her travels abroad served in her own pottery. We Love the red organic rice, free range Chicken, watercress and breaded Chicken. Her hone was not just a place to sleep and rest, it was a destination.

  • THE BEST BREAKFAST IN SAGADA!!!!! One of the best airbnb we had for years! The place is simple but it is full of love. Tita Alma and Dako are so friendly, they even prepared a very beautiful bouquet of flowers for my wife. We enjoyed our 1st honeymoon destination and I personally always look forward to eat breakfast cause it feels like I am eating at home - right, we felt so at home! Tita will tell you everything you need to know - from the tours, places to eat and buy souvenirs. Just ask her! Thank you again, tita Alma and Dako! Magne and I will see you again with our kids soon! :)

  • I have been to Sagada for a number of times, and this is by far the best stay I have been to. It is not like any other inn/hotel/lodging that you could find anywhere within the area. Super looking forward to going back and staying here for all my next Sagada trips.

    John Benedict2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Inandako's. The property overlooks the Sagada topography and the morning views are unbeatable. We even spotted Echo Valley during our first day there. Breakfast was delicious and they gave us big servings of food, which we needed because the treks and activities in Sagada were pretty challenging. Thanks again to Auntie Alma and Dako. We'll definitely stay here again.

  • location was superb. very close to good restaurants. the house was sparkling clean and the beds were comfortable. Reynolds was very responsive and there was no hassle in checking-in. I would definitely book his place again when I go back to sagada.

  • Wonderful host, very responsive. Nice centrally located place

    Addie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and orderly. Reynolds was very responsive to requests and queries. Ada was very accomodating and very friendly. Utensils and cooking materials are available( salt, vinegar, soy sauce even cooking oil). I would highly recommend this place.

    Margarita2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our group stayed at Reynolds's place for 2 days. Location was great since it's accessible to Sagada's Town proper (tourism office, bus terminals and souvenir/food shops). The place was very homey, spacious and clean. Perfect for group travelers. Mr. Reynolds was such a generous and nice host. He was helpful during our stay in Sagada and easy to communicate with. He allowed our group for an early check-in and late check-out since the place was not booked on the day of our arrival and departure. Also, he helped us coordinate with an accredited tour guide to organize our Sagada tour. It was definitely a fun and memorable Sagada Trip.

Our family currently resides in La Trinidad in Benguet so we are opening our house in Sagada to all adventurers seeking the mountain air. This room contains 1 double bed in our home in the outskirts of central Sagada. It is best for guests who have their own vehicles and those who would want to stay in a place away from the town's busy streets. We ask interested guests to read our listing descriptions so to manage expectations. -Xylene&Kenneth
[Room] The private room is spacious and perfect for couples looking for a rural getaway. You may check the photos for the interior, common areas, and amenities. [Bathroom] The bathroom is private and inside the room. Guests may also use a shared comfort room in the living room a floor below. [Location] We are located in the outskirts of Sagada and are 2kms away from the town center. Our property is gated and surrounded by pine and alnus trees. There are only a handful of restaurants and bars near us. — Big Dipper: 400m — Rusty Nail: 600m — Rock Inn & Restaurant: 900m — Misty Lodge and Restaurant: 700m — Caja Sagada: 1km — Rock Cafe (bar): 1.2km — Inatep Restaurant: 1.4km We are also around 1km from the drop-off point for the Marlboro Country Sunrise Hike. [Accessibility] Sagada is a walk town (no tricycles or taxi cabs) so we would prefer guests who have their own vehicles as we are located in the outskirts. They may also opt to hire local shuttles for their tours lest they walk. Our home is also accessible via a DIRT ROAD of approx. 200m long from the main road before it reaches our gate. It can get muddy here when it rains so this is important to take note of.

  • Absolutely one of the BEST stays for me. The place was nicely designed and built. The hosts were very welcoming and assisted us with few stuff. Will probably book this again whenever we will be in Sagada. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

  • Me and my partner had our first ever trip to Sagada and indeed it was very memorable. Owner Ma’am Xylene and Sir Kenneth really helped us a lot in all terms such as where to eat, what stuff to do. They were very accommodating in all terms, unlimited free coffee is available and the rooms are well organized. A homey feel vibe you would want to experience in such short / long vacation. Really recommending this place to others! Maraming salamat po!

  • Great room. Lovely hosts. Excellent breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay with Ina and Kenneth. Both made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is about a 20 minute walk from Segada but we were offered a free lift anytime we wanted to go or return from town. When we arrived on the bus Kennith picked us up at the bus terminal. The room was spacious and very clean with nice homely touches. The shared spaces have great seating to relax in for reading a book or just chatting. Breakfast was different on each of our two days with both meals being delicious and plentiful. The best breakfast we’ve had in the Philippines so far!! All in all this is a great place to stay with wonderful hosts.

    Colin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Magical place, amazing people, wonderful home. Staying at Ina’s Homestay was an amazing experience. We were welcomed home to Sagada with such warmth and hospitality and we really did feel at home from the minute we were picked up from the station. Amenities were great, food was absolutely amazing (with generous servings too - we were never hungry!), and our hosts made sure we were getting the full Sagada experience with local tips and recommendations. Our fave part was gathering around the bonfire, meeting new friends, jamming to our favorite tunes and soaking in the Sagada magic at night. It’s about 20 minutes from the town proper, which is perfect for peace, serenity and a good stroll/workout if you want to walk to town. We loved the experience and highly recommend you guys experience Sagada staying at Ina’s. Enjoy! Cheers to our lovely hosts! :)

  • This was my first booking on AirBnB, and I can say that it was an amazing experience. Talk about hospitability. Out host was the best. Super friendly and very accommodating. He even fetched us from the bus terminal to take us to his place. The place itself was very nice. Clean and homey. I’d greatly recommend this to everyone.

Dad's Homestay is nestled within a forest of pine trees away from the busy Sagada town proper. It cannot offer what a five-star hotel can. It only offers a humble and refreshing environment, and a memorable experience a simple home can offer. It was made in memory of a loving and humble man, thus, it offers its kitchen for your cooking skills and its outdoor fireplace for a bonfire to enjoy the cool breeze of Sagada. DAD's will surely be your second home!!
    with spacious secured parking
DAD's is 1km away from the Sagada town proper. For a peace and nature loving person, this place is for you.
  • We really had a great stay at Dad's Homestay! We were accommodated really, really well! Ms. Aiza also helped us with our tours and provided a tour guide for us, who is always on call whenever we needed assistance. I also loved that we had bonfire every night of our stay. Dad's homestay is a bit far from the town proper, but the homey feeling and tranquility of the place makes up for it. Will definitely choose to stay here when we visit Sagada again! :)

    Joyce Marianne2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place really looks great and cozy. There is construction ongoing beneath the house but it does not affect the overall stay. I didn't hear them working from our room. The people there are accommodating and you can ask them questions about the place or moving around Sagada. The rooms were clean. No shortage of water. Its a 25 - 30 mins walk from the main town but its really peaceful here, no noises and there is a picturesque road from this place to Rock Inn. I'd recommend this place if you're bringing your own car and you wish to stay in Sagada.

  • We enjoyed our stay at DAD's Homestay since we're the only guests on our whole 3-day stay. Thank you Ma'am Aiza!

  • Great place for an entire family of 10+ adults, with kids. Enjoyed our stay in this homestay. Perfect location oversee the mountains. Modest yet cozy bedroom in a rustic atmosphere. Sagada is a small town --- no trikes, no cabs, no PUJs every 3 seconds. No 7-11 & malls...just small stores and shops run by family. It's an enjoyable place for adventures or just to chill---if you manage your expectations and prepare for the trip.
We are in a neighborhood that's far from the busy town center. It is much peaceful and still surrounded by pine trees and hills. Enjoy fresh air and the scenery
  • Super convenient! The house is near from other good restaurants outside the center. They also offer tours since they are local people there. If you want to chill after the day, they offer beverages without needing to go out somewhere. Most important part of the place for me is the people there. They are very hospitable and tourist friendly.

  • Gwen and Bugan go above and beyond in making sure your stay is memorable. We planned the trip in just short notice, no itinerary at all. They helped us with everything from the tours, to where to eat and also shared their Sagada history and culture with us. Will definitely stay with them again if we come back

    Eunice2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Warm welcome from the host. Very accomodating. Even planned for our trips in sagada! Recommended!

  • Great location, and easy to find. Bugan and her mother, Gwen, are very accommodating and friendly hosts. They even assist those who want to book tour packages plus their complimentary breakfast is good! Looking forward to an evening of bonfire and drinks with you guys next time! - Barbie and Eric

  • My first visit in sagada was worth ungorgettable because of ate gwen. :)

    Erika2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ms. Gwen’s place is stunning. It has its quaint charm as a countryside home. She is very hospitable and easy to talk to. It is as if she is our tita away from home. She is also well-acquainted with tour guides so going to tourist spots in Sagada is hassle-free. Not to mention she makes great coffee! It’s just a couple of kilometres away from the town so if you’re not a fan of walking, you might need to bring a car because public transport here is not as many as in Baguio. But hey, it’s the mountain. The best way to experience it is to walk. Overall, Ms. Gwen’s place is highly recommendable.

    Sara Jamel2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time in Sagada is memorable thanks to Tita Gwen’s place. It is very cozy and makes one feel at home. The host is very much attentive to our needs and helps us experience Sagada in a laidback, authentic way. She can also help you plan your itineraries so that you wouldn’t be stressed to coordinate transpo / tour logistics while you are there. Would definitely return!

  • One of the best places to stay in Sagada if you have your own transportation, or don't mind a ~20 min walk to/from town. Great view of the sunrise, and good food at some of the cheapest prices you'll find in the area. The rooms are nice and clean, and the staff is always helpful and friendly.

    Mike2018-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very beautiful and well worth the price you pay to stay here. The rooms were very clean. The food there was also very good and organic. The staff are amazing and helpful! They can give you information about where to go. The view from the balcony was breath taking! We stayed for 2 nights and got lucky enough to see the sea of clouds the 1st morning. the 2nd morning we got unlucky with the fog. There is also a motorcycle and electric scooter for rent. Just a tip to people coming to stay here. Sagada has very little public transportation available. To get to the location of this Airbnb after getting off the bus from the CODA lines you have to walk towards town and find where the jeepneys park to load and unload passengers. you can ask people there on which jeepney to take.

    John Albert2018-12-19T00:00:00Z

  • I just got back from Sagada and just the mere thought of this place makes me want to go back again. It’s perfect for family, couples and even solo travellers. It has picture perfect scenery, spacious rooms and parking, plus the staff are very accomodating and friendly, especially the three guys who accompanied us to go hiking, even if it’s beyond their duty to go hiking with us. Such a heartfelt act from these guys. I was able to experience sea of clouds in Sagada unlike any other mountains I had climbed and it’s so worth it! I’ve been planning to go back to Sagada again and without hesitation, I’ll definitely book this AirBnB over and over again. Very highly recommended! 👍🏼❤️

    Miles2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • It is a nice place to stay, you can see the sea of clouds from their balcony. It is along the highway but a bit far from the center of Sagada so it would be advisable to arrange a means of transportation once you arrive.

  • Xylene, her husband, and Ina's at Ina's homestay were very warm and accommodating. They were easy to talk to and even offered to help us coordinate with the locals for our tours. The rooms were spacious and can fit 6 people comfortably. We really felt at home. The breakfast was good, most especially the salad!!( can you share the dressing recipe with us, Ms. xyelne?:) hahaha ) Although the road from the highway going to Ina's was a bit of a challenge (also bec of the ongoing constructions), they offered to take us to and from the entrance - which we very much appreciated. Overall, it was a really great experience. We hope to come back soon!!!!

Our family currently resides in La Trinidad in Benguet so we are opening our house in Sagada to all adventurers seeking the mountain air. This room contains 1 double-single bunk bed and 1 double bed in our home in the outskirts of central Sagada. It is best for people who have their own vehicles and those who would want to stay in a place away from the town's busy streets. We ask interested guests to read our listing descriptions so to manage expectations. -Xylene&Kenneth
[Room] The room is large enough to fit a group of 5 people sharing the space. Perfect for a small family or a group of friends.
Sagada is a walk town so most activities involve a lot of walking. This is great for your health and it will surely be quite an experience. People are also very friendly and would gladly help if you are in any trouble.
  • If you're looking for a quiet place after a long day of amazing activities and tours, this is the best choice. 5/5 when it comes to hospitality and service. Highly recommended! Will definitely go back.

  • The hosts were very hospitable and thoughtful! They texted a few days before our trip & on the morning of our arrival to make sure we were safe and on the way. They even picked us up from town since we took the bus therefore didn’t have our own car and asked if we had a way home at night. The place very cute & charming, with a nice view of the forest. Most of all, it was clean & liveable. Do not expect a luxurious stay as that is not what Sagada is all about. It is a simple home with pretty much everything you need.

  • if you're a nature lover, I recommend this place as you can really enjoy sightseeing (nature) walking downtown which is 2km by the way. The hosts treat their guests as friends and family so you won't feel left out especially if you're travelling alone. They are very much willing to offer as much if you ask to.

  • We love Bug Dipper home stay and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Sagada. We will also recommend this to our friends (I only recommend something buck-worthy). We were super relax during our stay here because the place is not situated in the bayan. I woke up with a prettt good sceneries of pine trees. Gwendolyn did not fell short of giving us tips and advices to make our stay extra special. We love her house because not only is the house warm but also how she host it. An experience to remember is our litttle chit chat during the breakfast. We had a glimpse of how to be a local in Sagada and you will not get that on a regular basis.

  • Every traveler should consider staying at Big Dipper. Our location was quite far from the town center, but that made us appreciate the place itself even more. Ms. Gwen represents the trademark Filipino hospitality. It was a hassle-free stay since the rooms and bathroom were clean, and their tour guide catered to all our wants. Overall, thankful for the superb accommodation and adjustments she made for us.

  • Just a perfect place to stay. Tessa, Tani and their kids are lovely and open minded. You'll feel like home and got everything you need. Tani is an warm-hearted guide if you want to go hiking. He is a brilliant cook and helped us to arrange our days. It was a pleasure to meet you guys! We definitely come back to your house if someday we come to the Philippines again :) Many greetings and all the best

  • It's a good location, near stores, the public market, and great view of the terraces! Kuya Tani and Ate Tess are great hosts! We felt at home, and we got a great tour of Batad with kuya! We highly recommend their place!

  • Jonathan and Tessa are very hospitable. Jonathan even served as our guide going to Batad. We got a lot of local tips from him. The Snake River was unforgettable. The place is very laid back which we like. Our kids enjoyed staying there. See you again P&M Fam!

    Mac & Patty2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Please read well the host' description. Like a lot of traveller's, we are greedy for "authentic" experience. Here at Nessa and Jonathan's home, we had exactly that. A clean and welcoming home, with guests spaces that still feels part of their house. Kids that runs around full of mischief. Home-cooked meal. Cold shower like the locals would have. A very warm welcome, as if you are visiting a relative. Great location for all touristic activities, with Jonathan's informative knowledge. If you want a 5* hotel deluxe experience, this isn't for you. If you want that human warmth than no money can buy, this is the place.

  • Tessa & Tani are very welcoming, kind, and laid back. The home is a simple space, but their family makes it feel cozy, and their two boys are excited to hang out with you if you want haha. They picked me up from the tourism office at 7am and dropped me back off even though they didn’t have to. For a price, they also cook for you and you can join family meals. And visiting the local spots with Tani as my tour guide is the same price as going with the office of tourism, but i felt more comfortable because I knew Tani and he also has a lot of knowledge to share. Their family was very welcoming and generous with me and I’d highly recommend anyone to stay with them.

    Yiann2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Slept there for one night. Expect an extremely friendly host family, who will provide you with fresh coffee and advice for you coming journey.

    Torben2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tani, Tessa and the kids made our first days in the Philipines a time never to forget! Their hospitality was great and we felt home from the very beginning already. Tani picked us up from the bus station very, very early morning (4 a.m.) and had arranged a tricycle to bring us and our luggage to their home. We really enjoyed joining breakfast/lunch/dinner with them during our stay and loved their home-made Filipino dishes which they especially made for us! Tani is also a very good tour guide which brought us to Batad Rice Field Terraces including a freshening dip in the Tappiya Falls. We could decide which track we liked depending on our stamina. During the trip we also learned a lot about the area and his passion for climbing mountains. We highly recommend Tani to other guests as a guide. Tessa is a very lovely and creative mom that likes to show her own creations when you ask for it! We bought some souvenirs and even got a nice personal gift when we left their place! The kids LJ and Duke are friendly and enjoyed it when we spend time in their home. To conclude, if you really want to experience the Philippine-way of living for a good price and don’t mind a cold shower, this is the place to be! Eventually Tani and Tessa plan to increase the comfort more for the guests but they’ve just started their business. Very warm greetings and all the best to you expanding your business! 7th Heavens cafe is just 5-10 min walk from the main town and the municipal tourism office. A quite and beautiful view of the terraces and the town. This listing is one room good for 4 people. The bathroom is designated for each room located outside.
  • Super place, perfectly clean guest house. It’s funny to see that 7th heaven is a traveler and local’s life hub. David and Mike are very kind people and super helpful. Good food and good rooms. Helpful to guide you and tell you the story behind the local life, the why how and what behind the farming technics used in the region or even evolutions of traditions, habits and even threats concerning climate change and beyond. If you want to see more than the beauty behind the exceptional areas of Banaue region, if you’re ready to hike 40km up and down during 3 days and open to stories of heritage (experience to do, worth the price if you like more than watching and take pics), Mike and David are the ones you have to meet. 7th Heaven cafe is by the way a super location: beautiful view, good place to meet people, not far from village center to find what you need in town, far enough not to be too much disturbed. We’ve learned a lot with them.

I want to give a special thank you to David for helping us out with our tours and making sure we were able to see all of the sights even if the weather didn’t cooperate. This is just one example of how amazing everyone was here at 7th Heaven. The food here was great and the accommodations were comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Banaue.

We are nestled inside an orange farm surrounded with bountiful pine trees. The private road that leads you to the space from the highway is an experience in itself. The sweet scent of nature very much welcomes you. We are located not too far away from the main town of Sagada, but far enough to have your own cozy private home, away from the crowded areas of town. Only a 10 minute casual drive away from Sagada town proper. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy prepping the place for you.

    There's no place like home!!!
Comfortable and its free to walk around...
  • The lodging is located inside a narrow street beside the Aqua Sagada. It is walking distance from the Municipal Hall or Tourism Information Center. Best to call Ms. Caroline if you get lost like I did. She will ask her people to wait on you along the street to guide and assist you to the lodging. Maám Caroline is very friendly and hospitable. Her lodging is clean and have wifi. They also have hot water for shower if you are afraid of the cold. Her place is very peaceful and quiet. You can have a good night sleep after your adventure in Sagada.

  • We checked-in earlier than expected, but we were lucky that we hadn’t have any problem of waiting bec. the room was ready. Mr. Chad was very helpful, the room has a nice view of the trees eventhough it’s on the ground floor. The common areas such as the kitchen has an easy access which is nice if you just want to make coffee early in the morning or late at night. The facade and interior of the lodge also makes it a “Cabin in the woods” kind of feel but still very homey.
