Places to stay in Saint Leonards
Our vintage shabby-chic one bedroom Victorian flat, with breathtaking, panoramic sea views across the English Channel, is only minutes from the beach and picturesque Old Town, with its boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, bric-a-brac shops, cafes and bars. Follow us on Instagram on: @flatwithbreathtakingseaviews
The Flat: An elegant 1 bedroom flat with unobstructed, panoramic sea views across the West Hill Common, the East Hill Nature Reserve and the English Channel. Boasting dark wooden floors throughout, an open marble fire place, high ceilings, tastefully decorated in vintage seaside charm, making it a very attractive and convenient one-bedroom holiday apartment to suit 2 (or 4) people. Bedroom: Has a relaxing and extremely comfortable double bed with plenty of light during the day and black-out curtains at night. The bedroom has two windows, facing the back of the house, which are double glazed, allowing you to have a quiet nights sleep. There are a selection of books and magazines to read on the vast shelves of the bedroom (please leave the books and magazines in the flat, or have a chat with me about borrowing any, if you are too engrossed in a story to leave it behind ;-) A cot bed can be provided for babies/ toddlers, with prior warning. Just outside the bedroom, you will find an iron and ironing board as well as a useful umbrella for those rainy English days, and a sun tent to protect the little ones when it's too hot on the beach. In this same cupboard you can find a laundry hanger, a wooden baby's high chair, a Henry Hoover, mop, broom and a wicker mat for the beach. Living Room: With a gorgeous grey marble fireplace as its centrepiece and TRULY unobstructed breathtaking sea views across the West Hill, East Hill and English Channel. The living room also benefits from a double sofa bed, to cater an additional two people. I have also provided a wicker basket of children's toys, to entertain little ones, should they also be our guests and a backgammon/chess set, plus Trivial Pursuit for "bigger kids". A retro DAB radio - with iPod/iPhone dock - can be found on the "gramophone", to add a bit of ambience to your stay (and charge up your iPhones). There is also a selection of magazines, for your browsing pleasure, in the magazine rack. (Please leave the books and magazines in the flat) *Please note there is NO TELEVISION in the flat... although there is an active TV license so you can enjoy all licensed channels on laptops, iPads and other mobile devices. Kitchen: A tidy and intimate kitchen, with gorgeous reclaimed teak work surfaces, which benefits from a washer/dryer, fridge, double oven, 4 hob gas cooker and all the conveniences of a modern home. You can find a kettle, toaster, hand blender, a wide selection of glasses, mugs, plates and vases as well as a few cook books to inspire you (if you are thinking of eating in). A selection of "Take Away" menus can be found on the rack in the hallway - If you are a fan of Indian food Jali is a favourite of ours. Under the sink you will be able to find any cleaning products you may need during your stay. A fire extinguisher (in case of fire) is located to the left of the kitchen, on the counter. Next to the kettle you will find an "HONESTY JAR", for you to add a contribution if you break or misuse anything. Please be as generous as you feel is right to, so that guests after you can also enjoy these added perks. In the kitchen I have added a folder (grey/blue) with all my favourite places to eat, drink, see and do in Hastings. Bathroom: A light and modern bathroom, with toilet, sink, bathtub and hand held shower. Body soap, shampoo/conditioner can be found here too. In the bathroom you will also find a small first aid kit, in case of bumps and grazes (and in case of Hair Emergencies, a Vidal Sassoon full power hair dryer, a curling wand and BabyBliss travel hair straighteners can be found in the bedroom on top of the red cupboard). Recently, I have ensured that all beauty products (Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Hand Soap, Washing Up Liquid etc...) provided in my property are Vegan, Organic, Chemical & Sulphate Free. FAITH IN NATURE is the company that ticks all the boxes, and I purchase their products in bulk (which I then use to refill the glass jars in the bathroom and kitchen). I have done this to play my part in reducing my (our) plastic, waste, chemical consumption & impact on the environment - as well as the more obvious animal welfare issues, which I feel passionate about. www.faithinnature.co.uk The flat also uses 100% renewable energy, from a company called Bulb (who provides 100% of its electricity generated from Wind, Solar and Hydroelectrics). Click this link to join up in your UK property: www.bulb.co.uk/refer/bindud7875
The flat is situated in one of the best, prime spots of Hastings, making it an ideal "home from home" location to enjoy this picturesque town to its full. It is also convenient should you wish to visit historic Battle, picture perfect Rye, the sandy beaches of Camber, quaint Winchelsea or enjoy a show at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. During certain local festivities - like the Jack in the Green Festival in May and Bonfire Night in October - our flat is in an ideal spot! You will be able to enjoy the parades and firework displays from the comfort of the living room, as the flat has the PERFECT views to sample these festivities without getting lost in the crowds. Hastings Old Town is only a 5 minute walk across the West Hill common, where you will find a wide selection of restaurants, pubs, bars, cafe's, independent shops, the Jerwood Art Gallery, the Electric Palace Cinema (an independent cinema), award winning fish 'n' chip shops, fabulous bric 'a' brac stalls, antiques stores and of course... the beach... with all its attractions. You can easily walk to the main Town Centre (10 minutes), where you can find Priory Meadow Shopping Centre and enjoy a wide selection of shops (including the usual suspects like M&S, H&M, Topshop...), supermarkets, banks, the White Rock Theatre, the Odeon Cinema and Hastings Pier. Hastings train station is only a 15 minute walk away and easily accessible on foot. Taxi's are always available outside the station or you can ring 24/7 Taxi's to book one ahead of your arrival.
  • Bindu’s apartment is quirky and homely. I felt very much at home during my stay there. The views were stunning and I’d definitely stay again if I’m ever in Hastings! Thank you so much Bindu! So kind and helpful

  • Bindu's apartment is a beautiful, sun-filled flat, with spectacular views of the sea. Location is perfect - with a short walk into the historical centre of Hastings, the fish huts, and the sea, but also facing a park so you have the space both physically and mentally for a restful weekend getaway. Will be back!

    Joon Lynn2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bindu's apartment is a great base to visit several places on the south coast. It has a lovely view out to sea to enjoy over any meal. Easy to walk into town....though uphill on the way back! The flat is very well equipped with literally everything you will need and decor and furnishings are sympathetic to its era....we loved it.

    Rowland2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • A very clean and beautiful apartment. Great views of the sea and well worth the early wake up to watch the sunrise. Well located with a short walk to town. 5 stars all round, especially to Dave and Chad who are gracious and friendly hosts.

    David2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very spacious with a grand view of the ocean. Sunrise is an especially wonderful gift. Great place to stay if your looking for a short stay in Hastings. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

    Colin2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is much bigger in person then it appears in the photos and it was very clean. Everything was thoughtful with the customer's needs as a priority. Chad (co-host) was there at check-in and he ensured I understood the TV, the cooker, the heating, etc. He was really warm and welcoming. The apartment had all the amenities I needed to have a comfortable and relaxing stay.

    Chloe2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I got in late and Chad was there to greet us and show us around. Wonderful person. The place is very relaxing, I was able to take a bath, we cooked comfortably in the kitchen and in the morning we had a beautiful sunny view of the Ocean! I wish we booked two nights- that is my suggestion!

Our flat is spacious and light with generous proportions, making it a perfect private space to spread out and relax in. It's walking distance from the heart of St Leoanard's; Kings Rd and Norman Rd shops, cafes, galleries, music venues, pubs and a lovely cinema, as well as being a ten minute walk from the seafront.
The flat has two large rooms with wooden floors and high ceilings. It's a little quirky and old-fashioned, furnished and equipped with things we like that we have collected ourselves. It's not high spec. but it is comfortable and quiet, and suited to couples or a single guest. We have hosted several writers who liked the solitude and peace and quiet. We have listed it as not suitable for children, but message us if you feel it would suit your family. Also do message us if you would like to bring your dog(s) or cat(s) - we generally allow pets and if yours is well-behaved , we would be happy for them to come. We have had pets come a few times before, and all we ask is that you let us know. The wi-fi code and password are in the flat waiting for you when you arrive. There is a modest-sized smart television as of November 2019 for live/catch-up t.v. The flat is listed as having a 'coffee maker' which is not a coffee machine, but an espresso maker. There are a couple of cafetieres as well. We have recently upgraded the bathroom and laid new flooring on the ground floor as well as some external work to insulate the flat to make it completely warm and cosy through the winter months.
It's just a 10 minute walk to the cultural heart of St.Leonard's with it's interesting shops, cafes, galleries, pubs and cinema in Norman Road, and from there the sea is very close by. Hastings Old Town with The Jerwood gallery , Fishing Museum and bijou shops are a 30 minute walk, or 8 minute drive along the seafront going eastwards. The new award-winning pier is a 15 minute walk away.
  • Very responsive, kind and accommodating. I would definately recommend this home to those who need a relaxing safe and spacious property.

    Tracy2020-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very convenient and comfortable flat with easy walking distance to the sea and shops. Brilliant location, steps away from a lovely little park. Everything you need for a few days rest. Great value!

  • Great hospitality! Nice furniture.

    Livan2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous little (yet spacious) gem of a place if you're heading to explore the Sussex coast or hibernate for a bit! A warm and comfortable space if you're planning evenings in, with St Leonard's and its quirky shops (check out Teddy Tinkers a minutes walk away!), pubs, music and eateries within a few minutes walk and gorgeousness and delights of Hastings just 10ish minutes walk away if you're looking for more! You will not be bored! The flat felt very private, well equipped (although a touch more clothes storage space could be helpful if you pack heavily!), with comfy good sized bed, small but functional kitchen (maybe take a sharp cooking knife if you think you'll be cheffing at all... the one there wasn't great!) and beautiful and interesting living room/dining space... with a great view over part of the hilly local area. Particularly nice at night 😊 We had a takeaway from the Gurkha Chef (also a restaurant situated on Hastings seafront), which was utterly delicious! Highly recommended with good options for vegans n veggies. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Stella and Vlad for your wonderful hospitality. Hopefully we'll see you again soon 😊 Nikki and Zoe x

In the heart of trendy St Leonards the apartment is an ideal base to explore the area. Part of a Victorian terraced house but is self contained with outdoor space and its own private entrance. Free on street parking. It's a short stroll to the seafront and just 4 minutes walk from St Leonards Warrior Square station (direct trains to London, Ashford International & Brighton). I usually greet my guests but use key box if self check in needed. Got to Instagram @stleonards_pad for hints & tips.
PLEASE NOTE: As I live in the main house, social distancing, spaced bookings and extensive cleaning currently in place. Please cancel if you have any COVID19 symptoms. The spacious bedroom has a super king size bed with a Nectar mattress, 4 pillows and additional blankets as cosy essentials . The comfortable sofa bed is located in the lounged only suitable for 1 guest. Children are welcome however the space is probably more suitable for older children or infants rather than toddlers. There is a fridge/freezer with complimentary milk and water as well as a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee. Please note there is no kitchen area/cooking facility. All can be enjoyed in your lounge, al fresco in your private sunny courtyard or at the beach. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. There are 7 steps to access the flat so it may not be suitable if guest(s) have limited mobility.
You are right in the heart of the vibrant and trendy St Leonards neighbourhood with cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, vintage emporiums, art house cinema, live music venues and of course a few minutes from the beach.
  • Such a love Lucy place to stay not far from the sea front, beautiful apartment x

    Paul2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This review is based entirely on what a generous, thoughtful and caring host Stephanie is. Due to family circumstances, I had to cancel my trip at short notice, and the support I received was exceptional. I can't comment on the accommodation itself, but after my experience with the host, I can't imagine it would be anything other than brilliant. I hope to return at some point and find out - and hopefully thank Stephanie in person.

  • Great little hideaway, really good value for money and good communication from Stephanie at all times. Oh and the bed is lovely and comfortable - wish I had a bed like that at home :)

  • We have such a wonderful stay at Stephanie's property. The smell when we walked in was beautiful, and the decor really quirky and tasteful. All the little touches (like the milk and fruit) were great, and the bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in. A great location with a short walk into Hastings and the train station is on your door step if needed. Would would recommend this stay to everyone and would love to return. Thank you!

A private annex, with its own little kitchen and bathroom. There is a garden outside for sunnier days..I provide teas, coffee, and some light breakfast things such as fruit and toast. Wi-if is a bit intermittent, so it’s not listed as an amenity anymore, but there is a line for a lap top and a booster. It is a pet friendly listing, so please be aware to this if you are a severe allergy sufferer; animals do occasionally stay in the place.
The place is separate from the main house with its own front door. It is very close to the sea and St Leonards Warrior square train station with a regular service to London and Brighton.
The annex is very close to the sea, only 5mins walk, and en route you will find Norman Road which is well known for it's unique shops and galleries, and the incredible Kino Theatre. St Leonards Warrior Square Railway station is about 4mins walk in the other direction down some pirate-y steps, where there are a lot of interesting bric-a-brac places and good restaurants. You will hear seagulls when you get off the train..!
  • A beautiful little secluded pad. Geraldine has created a wonderfully cosy space, with quirky details and a bohemian feel. I would recommend as a comfy base for getaways, but also for creatives looking for somewhere peaceful to write or work on ideas. The outside space is small but perfectly formed and we really appreciated having a quiet sunny place to eat/read/work outside. Hope we can make a return visit!

    Alice2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Geraldine's place. It is really stylishly decorated, super clean, comfy and cosy, despite bad weather outside. The location is perfect. Really close to the centre of St. Leonards and the sea front, and walking distance to Hastings. Geraldine is a great host, and responded really quickly to any enquiry and left some thoughtful welcoming gifts for arrival and went out of her way to be accommodating. I would happily stay here again.

  • A wonderful, cosy little place from which to explore St Leonards and Hastings. Just a few minutes from St Leonards Warrior Square station. Really stylish and attractively fitted out little annexe but with full kitchen and bathroom facilities. Comfy bed and good electric heaters made the place very cosy, even during a winter storm. The host added lots of thoughtful and generous little touches which made our stay even more special. Access was simple via lockbox, but we knew Geraldine would be available and responsive if we needed anything.

Stunning, newly-renovated, open plan apartment on the 1st floor with floor to ceiling windows looking out to sea. Hastings Pier and St Leonards train station are 5 mins walk and there are plenty of restaurants & bars within easy walking distance. Contemporary kitchen, with central island where you can have a cup of coffee or glass of wine and watch the sunset... In the bedroom, open the huge double doors and you can lie in bed and still see the sea! Modern, en-suite bathroom.
There are lots of small restaurants, bars, cafes & retro shops within easy walking distance. You can walk (or cycle) for miles along the seafront in both directions (High Tide Cycle Hire is 1 block away). Hastings Old Town is definitely worth a browse for its eclectic mix of shops but also for the Museum and the funicular railways up the cliffs to enjoy the view or visit the Smugglers Caves.
  • Loveliest little flat, with a beautiful view of the sea front from morning-evening. Unfortunately we visited whilst the self isolation is going on due to coronavirus meaning places were shut and there wasn’t much to do BUT we still had a lovely time staying in, cooking spending time together in an amazing place. Lovely to get away and will be sure to revisit when times are better meaning we can experience all the places Tara recommended us! Thank you for allowing us in your cosy little home x

  • Wow, the Hastings gem was a lovely weekend away. Perfect location, not far from the car park easy access to cafes, restaurants, shops and much more. Views are incredible from the apartment. It was so clean and had a very powerful shower. Highly recommend this stay and will definitely be back!

    Charlotte2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location approx 10 minutes walk from Warrior Square station. The flat was warm, cosy and quiet. Very clean throughout with a calming colour scheme and style, matching perfectly with the advertised photos Amazing sea views from almost everywhere in the flat - to die for sea views from bed and even from the shower! Despite the cold and windy weather, I enjoyed staying in and going out all wrapped up, for walks along the beach, eating and shopping. To top this I had an amazing massage at ‘Relax in Harmony’. I wasn’t able to get the DVD to work, but apart from this the apartment had everything I needed for a chilled out, me time weekend. Pure bliss ... Thanks Tara. You really have a ‘little gem’ and I plan on visiting again.

    Sandra2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

The apartment is situated directly on the beautiful St Leonards seafront within a historic Grade II listed house. The house was built by James Burton, the original architect of St Leonards-on-Sea in the year 1830. The holiday let is accessed through its own front door, down a flight of steps from the street; the flat is completely self-contained. We want you to know that we’re doing our part to help our guests stay safe by cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
The front door opens into the lounge, where there's a wood burning stove available for guests to use during the colder months. We have a bluetooth speaker for your use and a TV with Chromecast in addition to a conventional ariel. A large and comfortable sofa bed pulls out to accommodate up to two extra people at a cost of £10 per person, per night. The living room curtains have blackout so that sofa surfers can sleep soundly. A high chair is available on request. The bedroom is a romantic and calm retreat and is very quiet. The king sized bed is made from memory foam, the bedding is pure cotton. Blackout lined curtains help aid restful sleep and underfloor heating keeps the room cosy in colder months. A selection of teas and fresh coffee, milk and our home made granola can be found in the small but fully equipped kitchen. Step outside the kitchen back door and into the private courtyard, perfect for an al-fresco breakfast or an evening in. Smoking is allowed outside in the courtyard, please let us know if you would like to smoke in the courtyard and we will leave an ashtray out for you. Dogs are very welcome at the apartment. They are allowed to go leash-free on the beach at this end of the seafront, and along the coastal path all the way to Bexhill. This walk is particularly rewarding at low tide. If you plan to bring pets please send us a message when you book with the doggy details of your stay. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any queries, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have.
We are at the Western end of St Leonards Seafront, perfect for lazy days or bracing walks on the quieter end of the beach. A pleasant amble along the seafront will bring you to the numerous antique shops, boutiques, cafes and bars of central St Leonards and Norman Road. These include the lovely St Leonards Pub, Delicious tequila-based cocktails at Cactus Hound, arty film and events at Kino Cinema and the Michelin-bib-awarded St Clements restaurant. A longer walk will reward you with the classic seaside attractions and old world charm of Hastings Old Town. Take the funicular railways up to West Hill for stunning sea views over the town. Once back down on the beach, you can purchase fresh fish from huts located amongst the largest beach based fleet in the UK. Along the seafront in the other direction, merely two minutes from your front door is the newly re-vamped Marina Fountain free house, with its brilliant wine list, comprehensively stocked back bar and delicious plates of food. The pub is family and dog friendly and hosts live music and DJ events at the weekends. A little further along the road is a good parade of shops, that includes a large convenience store for basics, the excellent Appleyard's butcher and East Sussex Fruits.
  • Let’s start with the positives - Great location right on the seafront which was lovely for walks, also close to corner shops. The pictures don’t do the flat justice, it is larger and nicer than the photos which was a plus. The bed was very comfortable. The flat was generally nice and clean. As a host Matthew was great! We stayed here two weeks and after the first week he gave us fresh bedding and towels. He also gave me a fresh container of homemade granola wish I had for breakfast nearly everyday, yummy! The communication was great and he helped with any queries I had very fast. Parking is a hit and miss, there is free parking outside the front on the house on the road but we only managed to park right outside once. There are other available parking spaces near by though so isn’t a major issue. There are only a couple of small negatives I want to pick up on - The steps to get into the flat are quite steep but not an issue for us but may be an issue for some others. You can quite easily hear people in the upstairs flat and going up and down their stairs. This gave us quite a fright on the first night where we were laying in bed as we thought someone was walking down our stairs! We didn’t have a major issue with hearing them though as we’re a young couple. May be an issue for other people if they want complete privacy. I think the decor in the bedroom needs re doing as we found the paint came off the walls very easily. The kitchen was a little small but still good enough to use everyday, it has a microwave oven which wasn’t the quickest to cook things in but still did the job. Overall I would definitely stay here again, You can’t really fault much on it!

    Bryony2020-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at this clean and compact apartment. Matthew left us lots of welcoming touches such as tea, milk, biscuits and homemade granola. There was lovely underfloor heating in the bedroom and ample wood for the fire. The kitchen is quite small, without an oven, but does have a multi-purpose microwave, and we found everything we needed. Nice modern bathroom with shampoo and plenty of towels. Very comfortable bed and a nice outside space to have tea if the sun is shining. We liked the fact that the apartment is below street level because it made it nice and private, and we were always able to find a parking space at the nearby "sea-view" free parking area. Overall we had a great stay, Matthew and Susannah were very quick to reply to any questions we had and were very friendly. Thanks for having us!

    Verity2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect. Parking on street is hit and miss, but there is a free car park within a very short walking distance. The place itself is very well presented and interesting. It has obviously been updated with a lot of care and attention to detail. Comfortable bed in the bedroom and also comfortable sofa bed! Underfloor heating in the bedroom is awesome. The kitchen is compact but well put together. The bathroom is great with a good shower. Access to the property is via steep stairs .... just to be aware. Cracking little place.

    Julia2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect weekend in St Leonard’s. The photos don’t do justice to how cosy and nicely decorated the flat is. The bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed several evenings sat by the fire. Dog biscuits and home made granola were lovely touches. The seafront location is perfect for walks on the beach and for exploring both Hastings and St Leonard’s. We would highly recommend Farmyard in St Leonard’s for dinner, and the Pelican cafe in Hastings for brunch. We’ll be back!

    Sarah2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew’s pace is lovely and we had a great time staying there. It’s in a great location to explore St Leonard’s and surrounding areas. The flat is lovely and clean with all the necessary amenities. We love the little touches; milk in the fridge, homemade granola, the log fire and the under floor heating in the bedroom is lush! Highly recommend and I know we’ll defo be back.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, well finished, cosy place to stay in a great location right opposite the beach front. Matthew is a wonderful host who made every aspect of our stay seamless.

  • Ruth's flat is amazing: stylish, spacious and super comfortable. There were many beautiful details that created an inviting, cosy place. Ruth was very friendly and accommodating and was excellent at communicating with us. She left us very thoughtful touches like fresh milk in the fridge, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, teas and coffee and cafetière amongst many other things. The flat is opposite a park and its' nice and quite. It is only 10 minutes walk from the beach and there are many shops only 5 minutes away. If you like walking, in 30 minutes you can be in Hastings Old Town or you can take a bus from the bus stop only 1 minute away. We had a great stay and would definitely go back.

  • Ruth’s home is a beautiful, comfortable space. The decor is lovely and it was great to find a such a fab dog friendly home from home. It’s a stones throw from the beach and the delights of St Leonard’s, set in a quiet residential street opposite some green space, which was great for a good nights sleep and handy for the dog. I would highly recommend Ruth’s home for the perfect seaside getaway.

  • Relaxing, calm space, great location with great restaurants, eg St Clements, Farmyard, on your doorstep. Free parking. Walking distance to Hastings old town. We especially enjoyed relaxing with a drink in the evening, looking out over the garden square and sea to the right.

  • Lisa’s apartment is stylish, light, beautifully clean and thoughtfully equipped and arranged. It’s location excellent for everything that’s great about St Leonard’s. Communication highly efficient in sorting one problem we did experience, so that this didn’t detract at all from what was a five star air B and B experience. We have already recommended to others. Thank you.

  • Beautiful place, beautiful views, can’t wait to come back in the summer

    Ellie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Such a good location, and lovely to be able to see the sea from the flat. Really lovely decor, modern and lots of natural light. The windows, shutters and high ceilings are beautiful. Everything was clean and the kitchen has the necessities. We also had really fast responses from the host. Lisa and Emilio also provide a folder to help you settle into the flat, with a list of local shops and restaurants too. We visited the fish and chip shop they recommended, and thought it was great! We also ate at Half Man, Half Burger and would definitely recommend! Very popular, and you share tables, but a really nice vibe and nice to see it caters to a varied clientele. Would love to stay again, and would definitely recommend. (Would be lovely for small families too!)

St Leonards On Sea , East Sussex, United Kingdom

Stunning one-bedroom apartment in St. Leonard’s with beautiful views of the sea in both directions. A five minute walk from St Leonards Warrior Square station, two minute walk to the beach, and ten minute walk to central Hastings. There is also a sofa bed for additional guests if necessary. Free WiFi access with TV, XBox and a CD player. Coffee machine and fridge also available.
The flat has an astonishing spiral staircase which adds bundles of character to the property from the moment you walk in; with huge windows and even a Juliette balcony, where you have a beautiful view over a century or two old convent and Hastings.
Beautiful road with a Victorian era convent right opposites the flat, due to being on the top floor it is very separate from the rest of the building and neighbours - noise is not an issue as there is a massive crawl space under the flat, separating it from the neighbours.
  • A perfect flat to go exploring from. Rosie has made the place really cosy and I would definitely stay again!

Welcome to our lovely St Leonards home. We are situated just a 3 min walk from Warrior Square mainline train station. You’ll love our home because of the space, the cosiness, the kitchen, the quietness of the house and the comfy beds. We are suitable for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, professionals and larger groups. We are both artists and musicians.
The Space The house is very quiet and spacious. High ceilings and 4 floors lend themselves to a super peaceful atmosphere. The house just seems to swallow people without you noticing. The rear of the house looks onto a verdant valley of gardens with a view of the sea to the south. Guest access Garden, terrace, dining room, three bathrooms, living room, terrace, wifi, free parking on the street. Other things to note Other things to note We have two very small cats. They are not allowed into the guest rooms (unless invited) as we like to keep the rooms as fur free as possible for the avoidance of cat allergies. We are musicians so in the daytime some light music practice may be heard. Whilst we provide breakfast and a refrigerator, there are no cooking facilities for guests but we are near many local restaurants.
Locally Some great restaurants have opened up recently in St Leonards. The Wine Shed on Kings Road is just 4 minutes walk from the house leading on to newly opened vegan restaurant, Nico’s Kitchen. Others to look out for include Pier 9, Half Man Half Burger, St Clements (Michelin star), The Gurkha Chef. All are within a ten minute walk from the house. Along Kings Road, Norman Road and the Grand Promenade, you will find plenty of art galleries, second hand shops, cafes's and tasteful gift shops. In and around Hastings Old Town there are a multitude of pubs, bars and restaurants serving a variety of food and drink with many also providing live music from local and visiting musicians. Hastings and Rother have just been named a Music City due to the plethora of musical acts and venues in and around the area.

A cosy bright flat situated 5 minutes away from the seafront and St Leonards train station. The guest room has been used as a mediation room for a while so it is calm, with no TV I'm afraid but access to plenty of books to either buy or have for free. I have a cat so must be cat friendly. I have plenty of local knowledge about best places to go. Perfect for single travellers, preferably female as I am female, and for those wishing for a nice relaxing break to write, read, meditate.
I live 5 mins away from the train station and from the beach. My flat has a lovely calm vibe and the area is fairly quiet. I practice yoga and Buddhist chanting daily which may account for the Zen feel! ;) It is small but cosy, light and airy. I do the best I can to keep my space tidy and filled with positive energy. Apologies, but I no longer provide breakfasts.
I live 5 minutes away from the seafront and 5 minutes away from St Leonards train station and an hours train ride from Brighton. There are lots of coffee shops and little independent shops right here in St Leonards and a few nice pubs and places to eat. There is a fantastic Kino cinema just around the corner from me and an excellent yoga studio on Kings Road. Hastings town centre is a 10 minute walk away and Old Town 25 minute walk away. Old Town & Hastings are renowned for their vibrant music scene and there is live music nearly every night of the week somewhere.

  • We had a really pleasant stay in Chrissy's room ! It's cute, spacious enough, close to the station, just a little walk away to the beach, near good places to eat and for a really good price ! Chrissy was nice and helpful ! Perfect !

    Margot2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for accessing St Leonards and Hastings. We used public transport throughout our holiday. Chrissy is by far the best host since we started Airbnb. Thoroughly recommended. Thanks for a great stay Chrissy.

  • Beautiful room and lovely host. Only a short stay but would definitely love to return one day 😊

    Simone2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Chrissy’s place is SO convenient for the train station, and therefore for everything else. There was a lovely pile of books, maps and brochures about events on the table in the room, and I really enjoyed our chats. I was staying for the Hastings Literary Festival and was surprised to find out how many other events go on in Hastings and/or St Leonard’s, reasons to return.

Spacious, stylish newly renovated 4 bed maisonette (basement flat underneath) with a small garden, full of character and home comforts. In a fabulous central St Leonard's location, just behind Warrior Gardens train station, 5 minutes from the seafront and local cafes and shops.
Spacious and bright Open plan living dining and kitchen space on raised ground floor. The table opens up to host 8 guests. There is a washing machine and wine cooler tucked under the stairs. The whole property has high ceilings, full of light and character. All mod cons and kitchen facilities provided. We have a 32 inch smart TV. The first floor leads to a toilet, two bedrooms, one the main bedroom with the 4 poster bed, sink and slipper bath. The second floor leads onto a further two carpeted bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom. Plus a reading space in the large hallway. There is also an enclosed garden and decking space with a south facing garden.
The maisonette is a few mins walk away from the train station, coffee shops, Kings Road and Norman Road in St Leonard's and the seafront. It is 10 mins walk to the pier which is halfway to Hastings Old Town. St Leonard's is a great place to stay as it is the more relaxed yet buzzy area to spend time relaxing and enjoying time by the sea. There are many places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk to the property and lots of parks and spaces to walk. There is the added bonus of free parking on the streets all weekend and on weekdays too except with restrictions between 11:00-13:00 but to overcome this, you can just park up one minute walk up the road.

Location is as described - a few minutes walk from the station and away from the sea, but still good. Check in was super easy and Jos was a very helpful and responsive host.

A light, airy, self contained studio with it's own quiet little garden, sleeps one and the occasional two in a twin 'trundle' bed. TV-free zone but DVD player for emergency viewing! Wifi. Ten minute walk to the centre of St Leonards with it's shops, restaurants and bars and while the room doesn't have sea views it's across the road from the beach. Private bathroom and little kitchenette. Tea, coffee, milk and cereals are provided in your room.
This is a really cute studio that accommodates one easily with the addition of a comfortable single trundle bed if you want to turn the space into a twin room and share it with a companion. Having its own little kitchenette, with a microwave, small fridge and folding dining table gives you the flexibility to have simple meals in your room and hot or cold drinks. The little en-suite bathroom has a lovely deep bath for you to relax in. Wi-fi is available.
St Leonards and Hastings are very different from one another. Both are full of creative people, making the area a fascinating place to visit with lots always going on. The architecture around Burton St Leonards and Hastings is elegant and grand, while the Old Town is packed full of medieval buildings. Norman Road and Kings Road are well worth strolling around in as they are full of individual boutiques, galleries, numerous cafes and antique shops. St Leonards oldest pub The Horse & Groom is well worth a visit and next door is the excellent St Clement's Restaurant. If you want a more contemporary bar, then the St Leonard in London Road is usually buzzing. Sitting on the terrace at Azur and watching the sun go down is worth it. Heading towards Hastings along the seafront there are more excellent cafes and bars. The White Rock Hotel has a terrace opposite the sea and is strictly non-smoking if that's what you prefer. Pier Nine has a wonderful hidden garden at the back. In the Old Town there are too many great places to mention, except if you have time and pre-book then the un-licensed (take your own) Boulevard Bookshop and Thai Cafe does amazing food. I always go to Fat Tuesday (our very own Mardi Gras) a five day music festival; the Jack in the Green, a day where thousands of pagan's and bikers mingle, it's an amazing spectacle; Pirate Day, we have thousands of pirates here; Hastings Week, a week long festival of mayhem; Coastal Currents, a huge arts festival; the Seafood and Wine Festival, a weekend of pure indulgence; Hastings Bonfire Festival, a parade through the town of bonfire societies with their fire-torches accompanied by drummers on their way to light a massive beach bonfire and fireworks, to name a few. We have many parks and gardens, Alexandra Park joining Hastings and St Leonards is spectacular, and we have an amazing country park with panoramic views across the channel accessed by many steps or the funicular lift up the East Hill. Then of course, there is the sea.
  • My stay in St Leonards was just what I needed after a hectic 4-day event! Lucinda's place instantly felt like a home from home, and was warm & cosy. There are some lovely cafes nearby (Kassa, The Edge, Farm Yard) as well as an indie cinema & events space (Kino Teatr). Highly recommend :)

    Nneka2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lucinda’s place is perfectly placed on the seafront with beaches and local amenities all within walking distance. The accommodation is warm and comfortable with homely touches such as a box of tissues and hand cream. There is plenty of space and a wardrobe to hang clothes, which is great when you are staying for more than one or two nights. I was visiting relatives in difficult times and Lucinda’s warmth and friendliness made it all a little easier. Thank you!

    Sue2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely to come back to Lucinda's brilliant flat for a third time. As always the place was spotless and cozy. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Alexander2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, thoughtful, sparkling clean - I loved this compact little airbnb. Everything you could need for an overnight - hairdryer, towels, breakfast things, cafetiere - you name it, it seemed to be there! And peaceful, slept so well, bed great. Lucinda is indeed a superhost - communication fab, super helpful.

  • Lucinda is a super host. Her place is so well decorated and super clean. It feels so cozy and tranquil that you don't want to leave. Location is so amazing right across from the sea that you can hear the waves at night. very close to all amenities very safe especially if you are traveling alone as I did. She's very caring and attentive. I really love her hospitality and every time I stay I have a great time.

    Mahassa2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lucinda's completely self-contained studio flat has a fantastic location by the beach and close to the lovely seafront yoga studio and lots of food and drink options. The space is super clean with a lovely bathroom and a well equipped kitchenette. The bed is also really very comfy. Despite having lovely big windows, the flat is very private. I stayed on my own but I think the bed can be expanded to be a double. Lucinda's hospitality is outstanding and every need is catered for.

A spacious, 2 bed Victorian sea fronted apartment with floor to ceiling window views directly onto the beach.
Situated amongst the coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques and galleries right on the parade of St-Leonards-On-Sea the apartment comfortably sleeps 4 people. Come and enjoy the art, history and culture of St Leonards and Hastings with the flat located in walking distance of the pier, the Old Town and prestigious galleries and antique shops of St Leonards.
  • We had a great stay at Bens place, the view is stunning, direct view of the sea. Sun filled rooms, lovely and warm on a winters evening. Ben was extremely quick at responding, check in was easy. I knew Hastings old town well, but didn’t really know St Leonard’s. It was a great area, lots of great antique shops, junk shops, art galleries and independent shops. Good restaurants, and cafes (love the Goat Ledge). Will hopefully return again.

    Tricia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed looking at the sea, even on a rainy gray day. Great location, with several good restaurants near the flat. My partner and I are both on the taller side and found the bed smaller than we’re used to, but that may not be an issue for most people. Overall, would definitely recommend.

    Eric2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our little family had a great end of half term weekend stay at Ben’s wonderful flat with an awesome view! The flat was clean, comfy, stylish and extremely well located! Ben was excellent at communicating throughout, very flexible and made some great suggestions on where to eat etc. We had a friendly and prompt check in by his friend Helen which was a welcome start to our weekend in St Leonards-On-Sea. We’d definitely recommend and hope to come back in the summer!

  • Absolutely stunning flat. Perfectly located right on the sea front. The pictures don't do the property justice. Easy check in and check out. No negatives that I can think of. Hope to return soon. My seven year old didn't want to go home, which I can only say is rare.

    Richard2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a place where you can rest, see the oceans and walk around in a cool little town, I would strongly recommend Ben’s place. We had such a wonderful time. Hope to return one day.

    Lars Gunnar2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The view is just as good, if not better than, the pictures. Loved waking up hearing and seeing the sea. Ben was very helpful when I had any questions. Great flat for a long weekend

    Tim2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Superb accommodation, and location. The views out to sea were fantastic. We were initially expecting it to be chilly being an old victorian building with large windows, but it is very cosy and warm, with the sun warming the place up even more. Loads of antique shops and individual boutiques and shops locally with some really good cafe's & restaurants that are nearby, alternatively Hastings is only a sort walk away along the promenade. A very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend.

A self-contained, private, cosy, romantic hideaway. Double doors at the front open to a small west-facing courtyard, perfect for afternoon tea or a sunset g&t. The main room is large and civilised with loads of books, prints on the walls, Jenga, Scrabble. No TV. There is a double bed, a dining area, a sofa, and 100% wool carpet. The flat has efficient central heating. There is a tiny kitchen with fridge and cooker - no microwave - on one side and a bathroom with bath and loo on the other.
All I can say is the flat has a delicious vibe - I do my yoga down here when no-one is staying, and it is cosy in winter, and flooded with sunlight on summer afternoons.
Part of the real charm of St Leonards is its maverick rakishness, but this area is becoming noticeably gentrified, and the handsome Victorian terraces are being restored to their true glory
  • We loved our stay in Miranda’s flat, it is a perfect cosy hideaway with everything you need, a comfy bed and only a short walk from the sea! Highly recommended:)

    Max2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Miranda’s flat is a delight to stay in, nice location to walk to the seafront and not too far to town (15-20 mins depending on where you’re heading). Really cosy, comfortable and everything you need for a short stay. Miranda also provided delicious things for breakfast and basic food needs, plus some wonderful treats. The only minor issue is the WiFi didn’t work, and because it’s a basement there’s very little phone signal either. For us though that didn’t remotely spoil the stay and we would go there again in a shot if we returned to Hastings, many thanks for a lovely weekend.

    Tom2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few days staying in this bohemian flat in the artistically interesting area of st Leonards. We loved all the food, wine and flowers that were left for us by our hosts.

    Melinda2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the flat for a bit over a week and it was a home away from home for me, I had a lovely stay. Miranda left quite a few goodies in the flat for when I arrived and showed me the ropes on check-in. I was slightly concerned that Wifi might be an issue after an old review but Miranda put me at ease before arrival and the wifi service while there was excellent. If I go back to Hastings I will be looking for a space at Miranda's first.

    Miriam2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed very much my week here, even though the wild weather! The flat has everything you need and more, thanks to Miranda’s generosity with the various eateries, oil, coffee etc in the small, but sweet kitchen. All very well equipped. A perfect location for the sea and the station.

    Rosy2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Miranda’s place is great and she went above and beyond welcoming us in by buying snacks and drinks for us. She is a great host and her place is clean and well looked after, just a short walk from the beach. Highly recommended.

  • We had the most fantastic stay in St Leonards. The location of the flat is perfect, minutes from the beach and right near all the best of St Leonards. It’s also minutes from the station. The sunny reading spot is perfect for relaxing or eating breakfast. Miranda and Dan are the most wonderful hosts, with excellent taste in top tips for where to eat and drink. They were also very generous in leaving us lots of delicious treats which kept us going throughout the week. We will certainly be returning to stay in this delightful spot by the sea. Thank you, Miranda and Dan, for introducing us to the wonders of St Leonards.

A gorgeous bright and airy penthouse apartment enjoying panoramic sea views. The perfect spot to sit and watch the sun sparkling on the water, but equally impressive to see the ocean crashing on the shore during a storm.
The flat is on the fourth floor of a Victorian terrace on the sea front, so the views are really magnificent. You can't get much closer to the beach than this! If you want to get away from it all, yet be within easy reach of quirky St Leonards and quaint Hastings old town, this is the perfect place to be. The beach is beautifully clean and quiet down this end, and you can enjoy coastal walks all the way along to Bexhill and beyond. Just 10 minutes walk the other way along the seafront and you can browse the funky retro shops, bars and cafes in St Leonards. Keep walking, or jump in a cab (they're cheap as chips down here) and you're in the heart of Hastings old town. The flat itself has definitely got the wow factor! It's split-level, spacious and flooded with light all year round. Decorated in a funky, contemporary style, it has everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay.
St Leonards enjoys a slightly more gentle pace to Hastings, so it's easier to feel relaxed and on holiday down this end. At the same time, you're only a short drive from the fun and bustle of Hastings, with its quirky Old Town shops, bars and restaurants. I've heard St Leonards described as Nottinghill-on-Sea, which I think perfectly captures its quirky, arty feel. I love all the vintage shops and art galleries, and the fact that everywhere you go in St Leonards, there is the wonderful backdrop of the sea.

  • This is a great, funky ‘upside down’ apartment with views overlooking the seafront. Great to see the weather coming in from the balcony and lovely living area in which to hide when it arrives. We were surprised by how much space there was - particularly in the master bedroom and its ensuite - and it’s a great base from which to explore Hastings and the local surroundings. Thanks for having us!

Lovely shabby chic style , recently renovated 1 bed apartment located on the seafront in St.Leonards on Sea. Close to local galleries , restaurants and antiques shops, recently re-opened Kino cinema that originally existed in 1920's. Hastings Pier 10 min walk from the apartment. It's only 20 min walk going along the seafront boulevard to Hastings and slightly further along the Old Town of Hastings and plenty of fishermongers by the Jerwood Gallery. There is so much to do and see in the area.
This is a lovely and comfortable seafront apartment with beautiful sea view. The property is good for couples, 2 plus 2, solo adventures and business travellers.
We are next to Marina Court, the large ship - style building. Quite flat with grate location with lots of restaurants, bars, live music and events to enjoy. Bus stop just outside of the building taking you along the coast of St.Leonards and Hastings. The is a corner shop , nice places to eat in the front of the building. Half Man Half Burger is a must ! Pizzarelli for take away and delivered delicious pizzas or eat in the new restaurant space. Azur just opposite , there is always something going on.
  • Lovely apartment.

  • Perfect little seaside bolt hole. As others have said, entrance is a little down at heel but the flat itself is fabulous. We stayed over the new year and the flat was nice and warm. Super comfy bed and a bath that even my 6’4 partner could fit in. Enjoyed exploring St Leonard’s and beyond. Great food at the Kassa Cafe, Fika and Pizzarelli and further afield at the Crown in Hastings. Will certainly be back.

My place is right next to the beach, has many great restaurants nearby, galleries and antiques shops. There is a small cinema/theatre within 30 paces as well as a pub which dates to 1834. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and big groups.
  • A great base to explore the town and right by the sea. Matthew makes you feel welcome

    Janine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Matt is a very thoughtful and accommodating host, he made my check in smooth and I felt very welcome. As an added bonus, it was inspiring to see lots of his paintings around the flat!

  • Quiet and convenient location within Hastings. A few minutes from the seafront. Parking’s a little tight but manageable. Pleasant clean room, excellent shower. Proper artist’s house, pictures everywhere. Couple of decent pubs close by.

    Chris2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at this place. The apartment is in a really good location; super close to shops and the waterfront. Super clean space all around wich is always a plus! Communication with the host was perfect and he was happy to help with any queries or local tips. Highly recommend 👍👍

    Ty2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew Airbnb review. What a perfect week! I needed a break and that was what I was able to have in Matthew’s house. Matthew was warm and friendly always up for as much socialising as the guests dictated. He and his friends made me very welcome. He’s a great conversationalist, whether it’s philosophy or art or love or life there’s always a lively debate to be had. You will be staying in an artists studio, and as such you will be able to watch the artistic process and enjoy all the beautiful art and objects in this eclectically decorated house. If you’re looking for a pretty cottage with Laura Ashley curtains and colour coordinated cushions, this isn’t it. This house and host are better than that with a lot more character and far more memorable. Of the three places I have stayed at in St Leonard’s, this is easily my favourite and I am already planning another trip to stay there.

    Dave2019-09-01T00:00:00Z

A secret hideaway, on the first floor, with open light filled space and a view of the sea. Accessed via a pretty communal rear garden, and a small fight of external steps, it's easily accessible yet tucked away and very private.
Perfectly located, it is equidistant between the boutique shops and cafes of St Leonards and also the main shopping centre of Hastings. You'll find a theatre 5 minutes in one direction, and an independent cinema 5 minutes the other way. And Hastings Old town is just 15 minutes walk too. With St Leonards Warrior Square Station just 5 mins away, you can reach even more - Battle (10 mins), Brighton (45 mins), London (1hr 20) to name just a few - so no need for a car if you prefer to travel without one. And perhaps most importantly, the sea is just 3 minutes down the road! What more could you want...?
  • Very easy, & perfect for my stay

    Alastair2020-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Warm stylish comfortable flat with a sea view - great for working in as I had some writing to do - I’m going again

    Kate2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hastings is full of lovely buildings and this is no exception. Very simply and stylishly furnished inside. Tall ceilings, beautiful fireplace (unused) ample kitchen and overall a very pleasant space to be in. WiFi fast and faultless! Kurdish Restaurant round the corner absolutely awesome! Would go again without hesitation.

  • Jemma’s place was super convenient and clean. Comfortable living space with easy access to the sea front and a nice walk to Hastings old town.

    Georgia2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jemmas apartment was very nicely decorated, comfortable an cozy. The location is ideal, just a few minutes to the beach, pier, supermarket, restaurants or the train station. Free parking around the apartment was also possible. A visit to Old Town Hastings with its cozy restaurants and cafes and fish market is worthwhile. Also the great view from East Hill, which you can reach by cable car, should not be missed. Those who come by car are well worth a visit to Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters near Eastbourne. There is a great hiking trail with a gigantic view of the chalk cliffs. Also by train it is only a 1.5 hour drive from London and at off-peak times one way costs only £ 8.50 per adult. So we were completely satisfied and can highly recommend Jemma as host.

    David2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space! Host is very kind and communicative. Having your own kitchen and cooking facilities is very thrifty for avoiding having to eat out all the time. The neighbors are lovely and helpful too. The place is very close to the seafront and local places to visit and eat.

    Julia2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jemma's place is in a great location with parking. The flat is spacious and full of natural light, which is uplifting. Jemma's is nice to deal with and get back quickly. Would go back again and recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit Hastings.

    Daniel2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Jemma! We are today enjoying the last hours in this cozy city. • Harold place is great. We enjoyed our stay with our little 1 year boy. Great location , easy free and paid parking just round the corner. Communication with Harold was excellent always answered straight away. We would definitely like to stay again. :)

    Pedro2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting my son who lives in St Leonards so the location was perfect for us. Key collection is in a lock box 1.7 miles from the flat. I was driving so not a problem for me but not convenient if using public transport. A very clean flat in a fantastic location loved watching the sea on a very windy weekend. I slept on the sofa bed which I found very comfortable. My mum said the same about the bed. There is a mini bar in the kitchen which as beer, wine and nibbles . There are parking restrictions out side but we parked just off Warrior square which is a short walk . The car park suggested by Harold is up a lot of steps and you are not provided with a back door key. The shower was a bit hit and miss but don't let that put you off . The neighbour's were very quiet . Lots of extras, hairdryer, straighteners, umbrella, iron and ironing board. My son is moving but if he wasn't we would definitely stay here again.

    Gillian2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location, clean, comfortable, contemporary and cozy. The roaring sea opposite the street can make any business traveler feel he/she is on holiday! Having to fetch the key from another location was no problem for us. For that there is the compensation of Harold being a kind and helpful person, responding whenever you would need his assistance. We extended our stay because of all these reasons. (We did have a problem with the safebox though. Luckily Harold was closeby to assist.)

    Christa2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was perfect for our two night getaway with our 6 month old baby. Location was great. 15 mins away from the town centre. The only thing to note - is the car park is about 10 mins walk away if you can’t go up/down stairs. Didn’t put us off though.

    Samantha2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • I will be back! The place is ideally located across the road from the beach and very close to the pier, with a lovely view of the sea. Yes, the traffic flow means it's not quiet but I got used to it pretty quickly, as the view was super and was even able to enjoy breakfast on the balcony a couple of days at the end of October when sunny. St Leonards has some lovely cafes and eateries, and a 10-15min walk into the other side of Hastings presents more lovely options and museums. The place itself was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay, and some nice little touches too. Harold was a super host - even picking me up at the station and dropping me off at the apartment when he learnt the key pickup location wasn't ideal for me (lucky he was in the area). Yes - I will definitely be back, probably when it's warmer. Thank you!

    Sheren2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the flat, which had everything you needed for a short break. The location on the seafront was superb. We were able to walk to most things that we wanted to see and do. This meant we were able to leave the car parked (for free) on the road behind the flat, and use the steps up and down to the back entrance of The Alexandra.

    Kay2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Light, bright and sparkling clean apartment on the sea front. Perfect for a short break for two!

    Janet2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

Charming studio summerhouse located at the top of a garden with own decking area. 5 minutes from the beach. Close to Norman road with cafés, antique shops and Kino cinema.
The studio is located in a quiet area, but is only 5 minutes from the beach on foot. Burton St Leonards was the original St Leonards old town built in the early 1800s in a regency style. The area is a must to explore on foot for people with an interest in history and architecture. Just around the corner is The Horse and Groom, St Leonard’s oldest pub. a very traditional pub with lots of character and a relaxing atmosphere. It is a great place to spend an evening. 2 mins away is Norman Road, home to cafés, furniture shops, art galleries, antique shops, vintage clothing shops, two hairdressers, a Chinese take away and a Kino cinema. Hastings town centre is a 15 minute walk along the seafront. Further along the beach you will find the old town, with its quaint old streets with historic buildings, lots of cafes, bars and shops, and the fish market.
  • I had such a luxurious time for myself at Katie's with a cosy fire, made use of the wifi to watch films on my ipad etc, and just generally relax! It was really nice and warm at night under the thick duvet and blankets provided despite being early January when I stayed. Great location as well with the sea so close by, cafes, shops etc. Will definitely stay again. Thank you! X

The house is extremely stylish and perfect for a family or two couples - it has everything you'll need. Emma was very helpful and friendly, giving us some local tips on arrival. Highly recommended!

  • We came to England for a wedding and we stayed afterward for a few days to share some times with old friends that came over from France. We cooked meals together in the well equipped kitchen and laughed and shared good times... and fell asleep at night on comply beds with clean linens. it was a home away for home. Thank you Emma for providing this for us at such a reasonable price.

    Deborah2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect Airbnb. Bigger than I expected from the photos with lounge area. Would stay again...

    Rupert2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Emma's apartment is definitely gorgeous - I would add luxurious, photos do not do it justice. Spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. Two sparkling clean bathrooms (one with shower/toilet, other with bath - under floor heating worked a treat in January), massive beds and luxury bedding. Kitchen has everything you need - huge stove, dishwasher, coffee machine, etc. There's even a separate laundry room. Didn't use the deck but definitely would have eaten out there in warmer months. Easy stroll down the hill to station, shops, restaurant s and beach. All communication very clear and helpful, really appreciated the later checkout, too. Thanks, Emma - we look forward to coming back soon.

  • Beautiful little apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay, much better than in the pictures. The location is great, just a few minutes from the beach, we walk to old town in about 20 min but if you are not up for a walk the bus stops just at the end of the road. I would definitely recommend Debbies place.

  • A lovely flat conveniently located in St Leonards, clean and comfortable. Debi was extremely helpful and communication was easy!
