Places to stay in San Bernardino County
*This cabin was featured in the New York Times in January, 2017. * A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement. Important to note before you book: NOT APPROPRIATE FOR CHILDREN 2-12 NO EXTRA GUESTS NO PARTIES (including dinner parties) NO DRONES NO COMMERCIAL/PROFESSIONAL SHOOTING (photo, video, film) NO GRILLING NO PETS Thank you!
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our nearby "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin." *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, a Vipassana Buddhist retreat center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special.
This is rural desert wilderness. On the grid, but off the pavement.
  • Excellent location, clean & welcoming space and stunning views! What more could you ask for? We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon!

  • Just like the pictures, beautiful!

  • Had a wonderful solo retreat at Stephanie and Jay's place. The cabin is secluded in a quiet area, but still with easy access to town. Super clean, minimal, basic – exactly what I was looking for. Jay was super helpful during check in and very communicative throughout the entire process. Would stay again, 10/10!

  • Wow! The cabin is absolutely amazing. We loved the peace and quiet, views and sunsets. The cabin had everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner each day, so we took advantage of that and relaxing on the porch at sunset. Directions were clear and location easy to find. The Joshua Tree entrance is 15 minutes. We picked up groceries in advance in Yucca. The hosts were easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Great stay!

  • Awesome space highly recommended for people keen on spending time in soul-restoring quiet and peacefulness. Expect a beautifully and thoughtfully furnished living space and wonderful hosts. Plus: stunning desert landscape and a planetarium-worthy canopy of stars. Must be comfortable with compost toilet.

    Andrea2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time I've stayed at one of Stephanie and Jay's places and the first at this location. As expected, I had a great time. I loved all the thoughtful touches. We spent roughly half our time at Joshua Tree National Park (which was easy to get to), the other half just appreciating the quiet and local scenery at the cabin. Highest recommendation.

    Joshua Tree, CA, United States

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974). Please also check that listing if you can't find the dates you're looking for. Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • The Joshua Tree House was a beautiful, meditative sanctuary in the desert! My friends and I had a great time just hanging out on the porch watching the sunrise, prepping meals together, and watching the stars from the hot tub. The coffee was delicious and the sound system was great. It’s very close to many shops and restaurants. We all want to come back!

  • Sara & Rich's place is the perfect place for a desert getaway. It provides an awesome setting, perfect in every way. Very close to great places to shop, eat and explore.

  • I had the best time here with my husband and 3 year old. We felt right at home in this gorgeous house and used all it had to offer. Naps in the hammock, made a fire at night, cooked every day, hot tub at night, views, sunshine, record player, lovely backyard... we will be back. It was such a treat.

    Paula2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. There aren’t good enough words to explain the magical stay we had at this incredible home. It will exceed every expectation you can have. The star gazing in the hot tub, the beds, the decor, every bit of this entire experience was beautiful. This is not just a place to stay but a work of art to enjoy. So worth every penny.

    Sara2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute dream. Perfect stay in every way for a girls weekend away. We enjoyed the hot tub, the rooms were sparkling clean and the beds were truly comfy as can be. Such a joy to relax in such a perfectly styled home on a lovely Joshua Tree lot, close to everything. Outstanding!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning desert home that provides a truly unique gateway into Joshua Tree National Park. Highly responsive hosts take care of any concerns with speed and care. A nourishing atmosphere for anyone in need of quiet, calm, and natural beauty.

  • Can’t wait to come back and spend more time at The Joshua Tree House. It’s in a convenient location with fantastic amenities and on-point decor. Check in was super easy, fast response from Geneva and the house had everything we needed. Thank you, Rich and Sarah for sharing your home with us!

    Phuong2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! We couldn't get the hot tub to work but other than that everything was great. Very cute place to stay, parking was easy, check in was easy, and finding the house was easy. Would highly recommend for a 4 person stay.

  • This was our first time in Joshua Tree and the dome was amazing. Close to the park by car, but in a nicely private setting. Very unique and the perfect amount of space.

    Shelley2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful and in a perfect location. Kathrin was very communicative and the whole stay was easy.

  • A true desert retreat! Perfect home and location for those wanting to be close to the action (downtown Joshua Tree and the national park) while feeling secluded/truly connected to nature while lounging at this property. This place is a gem/one of my favorite Airbnb stays to date. Thanks again Kathrin and Brian for being wonderful hosts.

    Jason2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This sweet little dome house was just what we needed for our short stay in Joshua Tree. Everything was comfortable and well arranged. It felt far away from civilization while being a very short drive to the center of town and the park. The environment was very quiet! We slept like babies.

    Tegan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home, very tasteful and eclectic decoration! The home was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location, very close to the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. • Perfect place to stay in Joshua tree, it’s even better than the photos. Don’t hesitate, totally worth it.

    Marcio2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Dome is everything it says it is! Pictures are accurate and the rules and information were very helpful - especially about the surrounding dirt roads - be sure to use the directions provided. We really appreciated the supplies (soap, paper towel, shampoo/conditioner provided as well as tea!). Our 10-year-old daughter found it very fun to sleep on the day bed and she absolutely LOVED the typewriter! It was a great location to the entrance of Joshua Tree on Park Dr. We also enjoyed two meals in Joshua Tree: Crossroads Cafe and Pie for the People - both were excellent! We only stayed one night but certainly could've stayed longer. I plan to come back to Joshua Tree and hope to stay in another one of Kathrin & Brian's places because they are just so fun & stylish.

New remodeled Airstream Classic! The perfect spot to enjoy the views across the valley and watch the milky way at night. This is a vintage rv and has limited hot water. and limited water pressure. Not for everyone. More than camping. Less than a regular house. It's glamping! Best for hikers and people who appreciate the park and nature. If you want to use fire pit or bbq please check propane available when you arrive. Propane is NOT supplied as a rule. There are 3 tanks there and if you need you can swap the tank out at any local store for small fee. This is a quiet neighborhood best suited for star gazing and relaxing. No music or parties please. It disturbs the neighbors.
Great Place to enjoy Joshua Tree National Park. Close to the mountains and Town of Joshua Tree. Amazing Views across the valley and the stars at night. Lots of Great Hiking close in this remote, quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is appreciated for its' quiet serenity and the lack of "light pollution" to enjoy the stars and milky way!
  • For our last night in Joshua Tree, my husband and I wanted a "camper" experience. Kurt's Airstream did not let us down. This was our first time staying in an Airstream and it was completely comfortable for the two of us. The real perk of this place is THE VIEW! We guarantee you will want to spend all night by the fire, overlooking the valley. Just as Kurt mentions in his directions, the trailer is located on a back road and it is best to arrive in the daylight - otherwise it may take some extra effort to locate in the dark.

    Amie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This Airstream camp experience was amazing. It was a cozy, warm space with plenty of blankets. It was such a peaceful area for us to enjoy sunrise and sunset. We were close enough to town to grab dinner but the area was quiet enough to make us feel worlds away from civilization. It felt like a very luxurious camping experience. My kids would have loved to stay for a whole week. It was the perfect distance away from Joshua Tree Park as well for us to visit both days we were in the area before moving on with the rest of our trip. Kurt was a gracious host who was great at communicating and quick to respond.

  • The coolest Airbnb you can find

    Donnie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, isolated enough to feel like you’re in the wilderness but close to local amenities and short drive to Joshua Tree NP. We had some reservations about arriving late at night after a long trip but these were unfounded. Putting the gps coordinates into google maps took us there without any drama. Great place. Would stay again.

    Matt2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax and a place to stay, well worth the trip

    Janina2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Took my toddlers with me and I had no problem with them running wild. There a few furry friends we saw (jack rabbits) but nothing too wild. There are all kitchen and bathroom essentials you need, no stove but there is a grill. There is cellular signal since it’s not far from town but feels isolated. There are neighbors close by but not too close. It’s right next to a police station and hospital. Once it gets dark the stars are an amazing sight to be seen. This is definitely a perfect location!

    Tiffany2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! We were a few minutes from the conveniences of town, but felt like we were up in the hills by ourselves. The interior was fun, well provisioned and definitely the best glamping ever. Charming decor, comfortable beds, a great coffee maker and good coffee, and the heaters work well so we were cozy despite the cold February night air. The views from outside were just breathtaking! We enjoyed a lovely sunset - Kurt's advice to arrive before night both because of the view and because it might have been difficult to find his place in the dark. We followed dinner in town with a lovely evening watching the brightest stars I've ever seen. We were up early the next morning for a perfect sunrise and to watch a black-eared jackrabbit hop by. We were so sorry to leave! Next time we'll stay longer.

    Jane2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kurt's place is remote without feeling TOO remote and a perfect distance to the park entrance. Bed's were comfy and had nice bedding and I could see this being a perfect place for someone to take their kids. Plenty of space to roam, outdoor seating, etc. We made bagels on the toaster in the morning and enjoyed coffee out on the deck. Only complaint was that it was hard to sleep with the jackrabbits running under the trailer at night but this was totally out of Kurt's hands!

Joshua Tree is full of artists and musicians, free-thinkers, hipsters, mixed with Marines from the military base in neighboring 29 Palms and not to forget desert rat characters who grew up in the desert or have been in the desert long enough to add plenty of character to the Joshua Tree mix. It makes for a good variety of personalities! In the village you can find locally owned cafe's, boutiques, thrift stores, plenty of antique stores and art galleries. It is 8 minutes from the downtown village of Joshua Tree and because of this we get very little light pollution at night (perfect for star gazing). The cabin is in a great location far enough away but close enough to several attractions. It is 1.5 miles from Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, The Integratron is 13 miles and Giant Rock is a few more. Less than 15 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park, Pioneertown and Pappy and Harriets is 20 miles, Joshua Tree Retreat Center 10 miles and the Dhamma Vaddhana S. Cal Vipassana Center is 15 miles away. Let us know what you are interested in and we will point you in the right direction.
  • Just a lovely place to stay. The cabin was secluded and thoughtfully laid out. We had everything we needed for our stay and more. The hot tub was an especially nice feature as well as the telescope for star gazing. The hosts were very attentive and messaged us regularly to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We would stay at the cabin again in a heart beat.

  • Such a wonderful intimate space for a beautiful weekend— highly recommend!

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at the cabin, and it was just was wonderful the second time around. We had been meaning to buy a guide to the constellations before our trip as the stargazing is so spectacular, but had forgotten; lo and behold, there was a guide in the cabin. A really thoughtful touch, much appreciated!

  • Leafe & Katherine's home is a desert dream! My partner and I recently spent my birthday weekend there, and we absolutely loved: the privacy, the peace and solitude, the chic yet minimalist homestead decor, the hot hot tub, and especially the incredibly vivid night sky that is simply ineffable. You will love it here. Leafe & Katherine were super communicative and kind, and we will definitely book again for future tranquility-trips out to Joshua Tree.

    stepph2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect desert getaway! The place was exactly what we needed. Unplugged and private. Hot tub didn't disappoint, the house was cute and spacious. The listing says king sized bed and hammock. There were actually 2 beds, a queen pullout and a full sized murphy bed. The hammock was nice, but too small to sleep in (plus WAY too cold this time of year! Haha) The yard was perfect for our pups to run around freely and they had plenty of dog friendly suggestions for hikes to get some excess energy out! The washer situation was a little confusing - it's in the details as usable with a dryer line, but then crossed off of the amenities. It wasn't available for use if that matters to anyone. We did feel a little rushed getting out and would have spent a little more time/better time cleaning up, but they had scheduled inspections to be done right after we left and needed time to get in before the inspection with only giving us notice the night before. • We’ve been to JT Greenhaus several times and each trip is just as wonderful as the first. We love it.

  • Daniela and Richard's house was the perfect place for my fiance and I to spend a few relaxing days in the desert. It was freezing at night, but we enjoyed the hot tub and stayed cozy indoors. In the mornings, the sunrises were beautiful, and we enjoyed hiking straight off the property. Kitchen was well stocked, everything was perfectly clean, we saw tons of wildlife, even when bundled inside, thanks to the huge windows. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

    Laura2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Green Haus. It is such beautiful space and very relaxing environment. The tub must be enjoyed at sunrise and sunset... Thank you again.

    Rachel2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay in Joshua Tree. The house is very clean and secluded. The cedar hot tub is amazing at night in colder weather. It's just a short drive to get groceries or to visit the park and Joshua Tree Saloon. The kitchen has everything you need.

  • The house and views were amazing!!! House was clean and cool interior decorations and the warm ambience we felt when we arrived there with the christmas tree lit up was a bonus for our stay! We had no time to watch any movies because we were watching the scenery right in front of us and could not take our eyes off! It was a great kickoff weekend for the upcoming holidays. Thank you!

  • We used the Dome House for our wedding welcome dinner this past weekend. We had tables set up along the rounded path outside, and had a taco stand up by the house. The house and setting are truly one of a kind, and made for a very memorable event that all of our guests were blown away by. Pavlina was extremely kind and helpful throughout the entire process. We hope to return to the Dome House again someday, and highly recommend to anyone looking for unique event location or desert retreat.

    Kirby2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the dome house celebrating my mother's birthday. It was secluded, but close enough for an easy drive into downtown each day. Pavlina provided tons of info for anything we needed from the surrounding area (things to do, near by grocery stores, etc). Gorgeous views of the mountains and windmills, and beautifully decorated inside!

  • This place is even better than it looks in photos. We very much enjoyed our stay! Highly recommended. I honestly could live there I loved it so much. The host was extremely thorough and quick to respond. Most importantly it was clean and I felt comfortable there. Will one thousand percent visit again.

A perfect escape with sweeping views. This 1950s renovated homestead cabin sits on over 22 acres and is a perfect place to relax, unwind & experience Joshua Tree. A cabin feel with modern amenities including an outdoor shower. Being tucked away outside of town allows for unprecedented panoramic views. You don't have to worry about close neighbors with this uniquely perfect location. Vast unobstructed sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed from the porch. If you are looking for a place to get away, but with the necessary creature comforts you will love this place. Follow us @JoshuaTreeCabin
This North Joshua Tree cabin is the perfect secluded hideaway. Sitting on over 22 acres, our little homesteader cabin was built in the 1950's and went through a big renovation. A cabin feel with modern amenities including a brand new bathroom with tile rain shower, queen size bed, kitchen, ac/heat, wifi and outdoor shower. Pour over coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co and tea provided. Our very private North Joshua Tree location allows for unprecedented panoramic views of Joshua Tree. You don't have to worry about close neighbors with this uniquely perfect location. (Please note the national park is in South Joshua Tree so definitely drivable, but not super close) Vast unobstructed sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed from the front porch or back dining patio. If you are looking for a place to get away, but with the necessary creature comforts you will love this space. We are 15 minutes from Joshua Tree town where there are great little shops and restaurants. Honored to have Campover Cabin featured on Airbnb's official Instagram! We intentionally try to keep the homestead cabin experience a bit more authentic. There is no tv, microwave or blender. We are smack dab in the middle of nature. We do have an eco exterminator come, but there are bugs and wildlife that live in the desert landscape. It is their home too and part of what makes nature nature. :)
Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley have great little stores and vintage shops, as well as plenty of dining. Pioneer Town is the home of Pappy and Harriet’s, so if you like live music and BBQ fare, this place is for you. National acts roll through here and it's a great place to catch a show. Crossroads is a great diner. Also, check out BK Ceramics and the other artist shops in town.
  • Loved staying at this little oasis in Joshua Tree! Would recommend to any of our friends.

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • W O W! I don't think words really do this place justice. We/I wanted to leave a review before we even checked out. This place is so cozy, it's incredibly easy to make yourself at home and have it feel like your own. The place was easy to find and the remoteness was extra special, you had everything you need and the town was still close enough in case of wanting to explore, and they even allowed our pups come with us. And finally, the design ~ everything was so intentional. To the front porch to the decor to the exposed ceiling beams. I cannot stress enough how perfect this place is. Looking for a place to reset? Look no further:) Curious what their other places are like.

  • Lindsey & Brett's place was a dream. Every detail was perfect and thoughtful. What a peaceful, enjoyable stay. I can't recommend this place enough!

  • Thanks Lindsey and Brett for creating such a fabulous space. You are tremendous hosts! The place is gorgeous. It was dreamy to stay at your cabin in the hills of Joshua Tree!

  • Great place to stay in the desert!!! Their Joshua Tree cabin / cottage is the perfect place if you want to get away and enjoy the desert and visit the National Park. The home is located in the middle of the desert off a couple of dirt roads, but the remoteness is what makes it special to me. The sunsets are great, the sky is full of stars at night, and the sunrises come right up through the windows. The house features a great collection of kitschy desert decor and has all the amenities for a nice stay. Joshua Tree National Park is just a short drive away and the town of Joshua Tree is close as well - so the house is a great hopping off point for all sorts of adventures. Highly recommended!

    John2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsey & Brett you guys are amazing. They made me and my husband feel very at home. The house is very clean and comfortable. They answered all my questions and were very attentive. The home is so adorable and cozy. I recommend this home to anyone who wants to stay in Joshua tree.

  • This cabin was absolute magic for a anniversary weekend getaway. Driving out to it was part of the adventure and it made for a remote and peaceful retreat. We were so at home in this cozy place and enjoyed dancing to the record player and cooking dinner together. You also can’t beat the views of sunrise and the night sky. We would definitely love to come back!

    Alisa2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • As a first time Joshua Tree visitor, Lindsey and Brett’s retreat was an amazing experience. From watching the sun rise from bed, to star gazing on their peaceful, remote property, everything exceeded expectations! We will be back!

A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 2.5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 15 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree, 18 minutes from the National Park. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS — on the grid but off the pavement. Important to note before you book: NO EXTRA GUESTS, NO PARTIES (including dinner parties), NO DRONES, NO COMMERCIAL/PROFESSIONAL SHOOTING (photo, video, film), NO PETS. Thank you!
Stay in this lovely, gently renovated piece of history. Pioneering homesteaders came to this area over 50 years ago and built small cabins on large tracts of land, some of them pre-fabs. This is one of them! Less than 15 minutes' drive from downtown Joshua Tree, on 2.5 acres of unfenced land. Spectacular views, and desert wildlife, flora and fauna. Cabin includes: -outdoor "under the stars" hot shower -indoor 1/2 bathroom with sink and flush toilet -full kitchen (incl stove, oven and cookware) -queen-sized bed in the bedroom -wireless hi-speed internet - Please note that there is a fireplace in the cabin, * but it does not work. * Please note that we have a TWO-NIGHT MINIMUM ON WEEKENDS (Fri-Sat-Sun), and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND. This requirement allows us to keep our per-night rate low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. Joshua Tree National Park is a 18-minute drive from the cabin. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to protecting the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values.
This property is situated in the rural desert wilderness of north Joshua Tree: on the grid, but off the pavement.
  • Stephanie and Jay’s place was the perfect spot for us to stay to start our road trip. It was easy to get to, thanks to Jay’s directions, and we were thrilled to arrive and see the beautiful vistas. We stayed warm inside during a winter storm and felt at home while we were there.

    Emily2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to find and in a very quiet location. Everything was thoroughly explained by the host and communication was super easy. Cute and clean little cabin with everything you could possibly need. Had a wonderful time here after a couple of full days of hiking in Joshua Tree.

    Stephanie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wanted to experience being on the desert and this was the place.

    Andy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I hope for from a desert cabin: simple but stylish space with basic but good working amenities. Heard coyotes and owls at night, and saw a desert tortoise.

    William2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! It is perfect for a couple get away. The cabin is very nice and I highly recommend this to anyone.

    Luke2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jay and Stephanie’s cabin is lovely - you simply can’t beat the solitude and beauty of the surrounding land. If you aren’t shy of a somewhat rugged stay and are looking for a unique and memorable experience, this is the place for you. We stayed in February and the cabin was surprisingly cozy despite the lack of heating - the space heater does wonders in the bedroom but we recommended bringing cozy slippers, sock and the like for enjoy the living room and kitchen at night. The outdoor shower is a dream. Yes, sand will track in the house but it’s cabin in the desert and it’s lovely to shower under the stars. Overall, a delight. Jay was super communicative and thoughtful - a wonderful host. Highly recommended.

    Sophie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you like all things minimalist, where nothing is wasted but rather re-purposed and reused, this is a place for you! While not entirely off the grid (there is internet and running water), the place has a flavour of simpler and more wholesome existence, allowing you to disconnect and reflect. At least that's how I perceived it. Location of the cabin is remote enough to add to the sense of independence and quiet but close enough to Joshua Tree township and the National Park to allow for a quick trip to the shops (if need be) and surrounding towns, like Pioneertown. The views from the cabin are fantastic! Despite having to brave the cold when showering outside (I was there in early Feb), even this added to the overall "desert existence". Word of caution, if you're traveling there in the winter months, do take plenty of warm clothes as it gets quite chilly when the sun is down. Recommended sustenance/coffee spots: Crossroads Cafe, Country Kitchen and Joshua Tree Coffee Company

If you are interested in staying in the Airstream, please send us a brief email along with your booking telling us a little about yourself and your party, and/or your plans while in Joshua Tree. The Airstream accommodates 2 adults. It has everything you need for a quiet magical getaway in the desert, including an additional bathhouse with an outdoor shower, and a gas grill on the patio. It is located only 5 minutes from the Joshua Tree National park and a 5 minute drive into town.
The Airstream is located in the Joshua Tree Highlands neighborhood of Joshua Tree, a short drive to the entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park. Because we are a little higher up than the valley we have amazing views of the mountains and Monument Valley. The Airstream is a 1976 Land Yacht that has been recently updated and decorated with love. We have a refrigerator, hot plate, sink, microwave and all the basics if you want to cook in. We have a coffee machine plus organic coffee too! Enjoy a good night of sleep on our comfy memory foam mattress and sit outside watching the star studded sky. The Airstream is equipped with an indoor toilet, and an AC/heater unit. We also have an amazing outdoor shower facing the valley and indoor bathhouse. We have a gray water system that supports our desert trees and the cactus garden and a solar panel that pumps water into the yard! There is no TV. The Airstream is on a shared property with our other rental, Desert View Hideaway. There is a privacy fence separating both units and they each have their own driveway. Desert View Hideaway is about 100 feet away and also sleeps 2 people so it's a pretty mellow compound. There's lots of wildlife in the neighborhood with jack rabbits, coyotes, roadrunners and the occasional bobcat. It's a great place to unwind, relax and enjoy the views!
Our neighborhood is remote. Most parcels are 5 acres and many are undeveloped. When you leave the main road to the Park, Quail Springs Road, the next two to three miles to get to our properties are on sandy, rutted roads. You don't necessarily need a 4-wheel drive vehicle, but you do need to drive slowly maneuvering around the ruts. The ruts are more pronounced after a rain. Please be alert to flash flood warnings. It is not advisable to drive around on these roads if there is a flash flood warning.
  • When in Joshua Tree this is the only way to stay! Beautiful setting and everything was as depicted in the pictures. Communication with a Cynthia was easy. Recommended!

  • This may very well be the best AirBnB experience we've had to date. Every little thing about the Airstream experience was just right. We grilled Carne asada with the grill.. very private and felt peaceful. I would definitely recommend it staying here if you plan on visiting Joshua tree. The temperature at night were extremely cold so glad we rented this vs camping since it was extremely cold at night but the heater at the airstream was perfect we slept amazing. And the following day we explore Joshua tree and had a blast.

  • Nice value at Daniel's location. The home was clean and quiet with decent amenities. The location works out great with easy access to Joshua Tree park and the town. We enjoyed our means at Crossroads Café and also ate at Kitchen in the Desert in 29 Palms after leaving the park. Be sure to enjoy the hammock triangle and watch the stars come out.

    Kara2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel's place was awesome! We loved laying in the hammocks and it's always nice to have a hot tub after hiking all day.

    Stephanie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We only had a short overnight stay, but we loved this Airbnb! I've stayed at a few, lovely, quirky places in Joshua Tree, but usually they've been a lot older and had some issues. I was worried about staying out there in the winter and it being windy, but once we got to the house we saw how cozy and eclectic it was. We didn't get to use the hot tub, ended up falling asleep early, but really appreciated that it was kept warm all winter. The kitchen was clean and modern, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and everything was beautifully decorated. I was OBSESSED with the shower. The outdoor games were a really nice touch, and we wished we used the outdoor fire, but we were too tired. The house is really close to Pie for the People, Joshua Tree Saloon, and Crossroads! It's basically on the same road into the Park as well! Daniel communicated with me ASAP when we didn't even realize we left behind a few things as well. Historic lookout tower sits on the border of the Joshua Tree National Park and overlooks thousands of acres of pristine wilderness! Newly remodeled Cabin is one bedroom and three beds. It has new electrical, running water, new refrigerator, microwave, propane bbq, & propane fire pit! Nice new AC & Heat. Open kitchen with doors that open to outside. Feels remote yet close to town. Sleeps 4. One double bed and two twin beds. A historic landmark in Joshua Tree since 1929
Some of the oldest Joshua Trees in the park can be found in the neighborhood of Covington Flats
The dirt roads in Covington Flats offer access to some of the park’s largest Joshua trees, junipers, and pinyon pines. From Covington Flats picnic area to Eureka Peak is 3.8 miles (6.2 km) one way. The dirt road is steep near the end, but the top offers views of Palm Springs, the surrounding mountains, and the Morongo Basin. There are a number of trails in the area and the Covington backcountry registration board is available for those wishing to backcountry camp. Covington is located in the north-western section of the park, between Black Rock Canyon and Joshua Tree. Take La Contenta south off of Highway 62.
  • This place is fantastic for small groups wanting to spend time together. We were able to walk to some epic hiking trails and cook a big family dinner in the kitchen. Very cozy spot to spend a weekend in J Tree.

  • I spent my 30th birthday here and loved everything about it. It was perfect for what I wanted, Somewhere to relax and star gaze. Definitely would go back for the summer to really enjoy the outdoors as it was a bit windy when I went but it was still very nice.

  • We had a great stay in Joshua Tree. We loved the house, and the desert was beautiful. We were very relaxed and comfortable in the house. We would love to come back some day.

  • Great location a short drive from the entrance of Joshua Tree. The place was super clean and comfortable.

    Christina2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot. It’s comfortable and clean and is located in a quiet, remote part of the desert. My wife and I can’t wait to come back to visit again.

  • Kurt's Joshua Tree get away is such a beautiful spot to stay in! The location is secluded and quiet but close enough to get to the stores, restaurants, and of course the National Park! There is even a hiking trail within walking distance from the house. This home is so beautiful and the touches of vintage decor is fun to look at! There was no need to bring too many kitchen supplies as the kitchen is already fully stocked. We enjoyed cooking on the vintage stove but the only thing is we avoiding using the oven as it looked a bit iffy for use. The bathroom also has extra amenities in case you forgot shower gel, soap, or razors (I noticed there were some brand new ones in a jar. How thoughtful!) And we absolutely LOVED the many windows in this place which made it easier to watch the sunset and sunrise in the comfort of the house during a high windy day during our stay. I think it may be a little questionable to those who want full privacy in the house but trust me when I say the location is far enough from your surrounding neighbors and is facing only desert landscape so there is no need to worry. Another thing I feel is worthy of noting was that we did just fine driving up to the location despite only having a sedan to traverse that dirt road. I saw many reviews complaining of the drive up without a 4 wheel drive but as long as you're not speed racing, the journey (while a bit dusty) is an easy and enjoyable one! I didn't have much to ask Kurt about during our stay since he sends quite the elaborate message to you via Airbnb when you first reserve your stay (so helpful! Please make sure you read it) but when I did text him his response only took a few minutes. Thank you, Kurt!

If you love Mid Century Modern, this is your place. Barcelona chairs with a cowhide rug in the bedroom loft sitting area. Eames Lounger in the living room. Scandinavian gas fireplace, Eames molded plastic chairs in the Dining room. Lane end tables. Bertoia wire chair on the deck. This list goes on and on. Bound to be a 1 of a kind. Actual parking spots, real stairs to loft that has separate sitting area. Full sized Kitchen. And a wonderful courtyard to enjoy the firepit or bbq.
So this is our 2nd A-frame in Running Springs. We had over 200 guest at our last one. We sold it in Feb of 2017 and had sellers remorse the next day. So as soon as we saw this Mid Century beauty we knew it was meant to be, Nestled in the trees above a tree lined valley. The views are relaxing as can be. The home is much bigger than most A-Frame homes. So your family has room to move. We are a few minutes from Snow Valley, and have great hiking nearby. In the Summer months the park at Arrowbear has TH-F-SA softball games to tailgate.
Ski resort is a few miles away. ArrowBear is the half way point between Arrowbead and BigBear. Chose your adventure.
  • The cabin was amazing my girlfriend and I loved it!!! Great view as well. Great experience would definitely come back.

    Guillermo2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was fantastic. I love that there is Netflix on the TVs. Super beautiful views, well stocked kitchen, board games, and many other neat touches. The inside fireplace would not light, no matter how many different things we tried. We followed all the instructions multiple times. The rest of the place being so great made up for it though. Would definitely book again.

    John2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin and a steal! Yes, the cabin is priced for savings so you do have to do a few things to save said money. This is my favorite stay so far, yet the least expensive. Read the listing, follow the steps and you'll be glad you did. Felt homey, had all the amenities needed and that view! We will be back.

    Thy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem. We loved staying at Pete’s and Melissas cabin. You won’t regret booking with them. The place is located in an beautiful surrounding, it has all the amenities you’ll need, and you can spot a lot of birds while sitting in the living room (there are a bunch of woodpeckers doing their work right in front of you). We would highly recommend this place, it’s an awesome AirBnB experience. The cleaning is not a problem, it’ll take 45 minutes to one hour to get it all done but considering the price it’s absolutely worth it.

    Christoph2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pete’s place is great to stay at! We were there for the weekend and really enjoyed the relaxing nature of the place. Thanks for a great time!

    Natasha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a fantastic value for money. It is about 25 minutes or so from Big Bear Village, which to us wasn’t a big deal. The house is very private and cozy. The loft is great and has two lounge chairs that overlook the main living area and you face the massive windows that give a view of the valley. The fact you have to clean up afterwards wasn’t a big deal at all to us, we were happy to do it. Overall our stay was perfect. We will be coming back in the winter months when there is more snow.

Rock Reach House—profiled in the April 2010 issue of Dwell magazine—is a modern steel house perched amidst a pristine High Desert setting replete with enormous weathered boulders – along with ancient juniper, pinón and desert oak trees. It is the perfect property for anyone who wants to decompress in style and serenity. The house was built in 2009 as the first prototype home using systems from Blue Sky Building Systems. It is framed with mostly light-gauge galvanized steel elements that were fabricated off site and rapidly bolted together on site. The shell of the house went up in five days and the house was complete in eight weeks. The only wood in the entire house is in the cabinets and the interior doors. Rock Reach House sits at just over 4,000 feet above sea level on a 2 1⁄2-acre parcel of land in the remarkable private community of Rock Reach within the Town of Yucca Valley in the Mojave Desert. It has become one of the most sought-after properties in the High Desert vacation rental market. The space The 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom, one-bath home floats atop six steel columns. Custom bamboo cabinetry is found throughout the home. Each bedroom has a sliding glass door offering direct access to its own private patio. From inside the shower, a door opens out to a private outdoor shower. The well-equipped galley kitchen is suitable even for gourmet cooks. There is a propane barbecue on the generous front deck just steps from the kitchen. Both satellite TV and a separate satellite Internet service provide entertainment and communication options. Outside amenities include a wood-burning fireplace (firewood is provided), a Jacuzzi-brand hot tub, a repurposed galvanized stock tank is now a “cowboy” tub for cool dips in warm weather and a wood deck offers two twin lay-flat chaise loungers for comfortable stargazing. There is an electric car charging station at the carport. • For another spectacular home using the Blue Sky system, see "Hawk and Mesa" in nearby Pioneertown. • Co-Hosted by Homestead Modern™
The 320-acre private community of Rock Reach is in the Town of Yucca Valley, but it feels like the middle of Joshua Tree National Park – without the crowds. Most of the landscape is an untouched wonderland of weathered boulders, pinon pines, desert oak and juniper trees. Rock Reach provides the perfect blend of pristine desert and easy access to amenities in town, with the stores of Yucca Valley only 10 minutes away and Joshua Tree Village, with its shops and restaurants and the west entrance of the national park, just 20 minutes away.

  • We had an amazing stay in this little airstream! It was a perfect location and had everything we needed for our short stay. The views out of the airstream were beautiful and made the experience even better!

    Julia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here! We absolutely adored the airstream experience. There were so many unique and thoughtful touches, and Raoul is incredibly prompt in answering any and every question you have! Perfect location and central yet feels remote and peaceful. I especially loved sitting on the porch at night with the lights on watching rabbits dart across the yard and eating breakfast outside.

    Annie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I spent a wonderful night at Roberts place, too short of a stay for such a magnificent experience! You can tell a lot of thought and detail went into their airstream and outdoor patio area, and we felt right at home immediately. The beds, the amenities, the proximity to the park were just perfect, and the hosts were so welcoming and warm, I felt like I was staying at my friends home. Thank you again for the memories ❤️

    Mimi2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just awesome and we highly recommend you to stay here (2 nights would be better than one): the location, the trailer, the barbecue place, Robert and Raoul, the sunset, the stargazing, the morning with the cute rabbits around the trailer.... thanks for everything! See you again :)

  • The Cabin is well equipped, stylishly and comfortably designed to maintain the integrity of the history in the walls, also very clean. As one who has sensitivity to chemicals it is literally a breath of fresh air to walk in and know I won't suffer with linens w/ dryer sheet "scent" and fragrances coming at me from plug ins, sprays, cleaners and shampoos. The indoor and outdoor spaces are very relaxing and cozy. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. The hot tub is a plus in the winter to be sure!

    Kathryn2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

That will be done BEFORE you arrive to surprise your partner. We’ve done these packages, they look fantastic, and we don’t show images for a reason. We want both of you to be surprised and guarantee you will love everything and rejuvenate in a luxurious cabin for a romantic trip to remember. Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I book the package? A: Any time during your booking process send us message with the preferred package number. We will confirm your inquiry with the additional payment request after your reservation is made. Q: Your tub looks hot, we love how you lay petals and thinking to get one of the packages. Will our tub be designed the same when we arrive at your cabin? A: Your tub will be nice and clean before you arrive, won’t have water in it and with bubbles and stuff. After all, we want you to have hot tub, not cooled tub. Quick Tip: You may get just the petals from our local florist, the whole bag for about ten dollars. We poured some foaming bath and laid the petals around. Don't forget to add some bath salt too - it is good for your body ;) Q: We saw red petals on your pictures but in the packages you offer white. Is it a typo? A: We offer only white petals for your romance package because red petals would mark the bedding since we create a nice design on your bed out of the petals. But if you like red petals in your tub, feel free to pick up a bag from the florist and do your thing. Q: Why decorate our tub with led candles and not use real wax ones, aren't you for "authentic look and feel"? A: Yes, we are, but at the same time we think about your safety. Besides that, hot wax will be dripping down the tile and stone and then needs to be scrubbed off (tested). So if you want to have a piece of mind on your vacation, led candles will create that ambiance, care free soaking experience and add a ton of safety. Contact us for any questions on romance packages and feel free to request special instructions for the card note. So join us and experience the wonders of Big Bear Lake. This stay will be your unforgettable memory.
Our house is located 1 minute (10 minutes by walk) away from The Village - charming shopping and entertainment neighborhood on beautiful Big Bear Lake. With several dozens of local vendors, the district can satisfy your every shopping wish in just one stop! Find delicious eats throughout the Village, including a couple of Indian cuisine, Italian restaurant and high end The Bone Yard Bar & Grill.

  • Simply stated, "AWESOME!". My wife and I had a fantastic weekend, Lovey-Dovey's cabin exceeded our expectations in all categories! The cabin is close to town, a short walk to all of the shops and restaurants, and close to everything else that Big Bear has to offer! The cabin itself has upgraded everything and is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or a longer stay! The owners went above and beyond to communicate with us to ensure that everything went smoothly, nothing was missed! We've been to Big Bear many times over the past 20 years, the Lovey-Dovey cabin has by far been the best Big Bear experience for us yet, we'll be back!

The Casita is a remote two bed one bath 1958 home located 20 mins from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by open desert views, wildlife, and a starry sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse #thejoshuatreecasita If you can't find the dates that you're looking for, please take a look at our other listing - The Joshua Tree House: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/32694 Welcome to The Casita by The Joshua Tree House! This casita is an original homesteader nestled up next to boulders, which was built in 1958 and expanded on in later years. What makes the casita special are the over 900 acres of protected land around it that serve as a wildlife corridor to Joshua Tree National Park. You'll see many kinds of birds, antelope squirrels, lizards, cottontail rabbits, jack rabbits and maybe even a desert tortoise or a coyote! The Casita is about a 12 minute drive into town, and 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store. If would you would prefer being walking distance to town, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree House (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/32694) The Casita is outfitted with Casper mattresses, and bedding by SOL Organics There are two bedrooms and one bathroom in the casita, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We hope you love staying at the casita as much as we do!
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the casita including Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious french restaurant in the desert).
  • Thank you Sara & Rich for the amazing memorable stay our family had at your Joshua Tree House Casita. It was our first time visiting the Joshua Tree area and we had quality family time together as a family. Thank you so much!

    Christine2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Casita. We were instantly able to relax in the space they created and everything we could have possibly needed was there for us to enjoy. Thank you for creating such a special retreat in the desert Sara and Rich! We will be back! - Steven and Milly

    Milly2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed the hot tub, beautiful interior space, and recommendations of hikes in the national park. Thank you!

    Tory2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • While I could never live in the deep desert like this (too many things trying to kill you!), I can understand the appeal for the owners to want to settle down in such an incredibly special place. As you can tell from the photos, the inside of the Casita is impossibly cute, but we found ourselves constantly being drawn to it’s outdoor spaces. We ate almost every meal at the picnic tables, relaxed in the loungers with our books and truly enjoyed the quieter than quiet that surrounded us. We also made use of the hot tub at night so we could stay outside longer looking at the blanket of stars enveloping us. I think this is one of the most perfect times of the year to come-while Joshua Tree was crazy busy, it just made it even more of a delight getting to return you our peaceful refuge under the expansive pink sky. Highly recommend Pie for the People, too!

    Anne2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful space. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the desert.

    James2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Magical, quiet, peaceful, expansive, connecting, grounding. Thank you Sara and Rich.

    Abigail2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great views and the decor of the property matches the time period of the house. It is decorated in a western desert theme of the 50's and 60's. If you're there in cold weather it's heated but the wood burning stove keeps the house cozy for hours. Joshua Tree National Park is close but if you want to relax this is an ideal place to read, sit in the spa, relax in the hammock or take a walk into the desert.

    Dennis2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space, thoughtful design and amenities, the most comfortable Airbnb bed I have ever had. Perfect location for exploring the national park and great views for sunsets and star gazing. Quick responses/ communication before check-in. Can’t wait to come back and/or try the new place.

Turn on the record player and play a board game for some old-fashioned fun, while a Roku TV offers the latest entertainment. Natural wood is a stand-out here, from kitchen cabinetry to door-frames, with a subway-tiled rain shower another plus.
The house boasts all of the comforts of home including central air and heating, brand new appliances and a fully stocked kitchen. This is the perfect place to return to after a day of climbing or exploring our beautiful town. Whether you decide to cook a meal with friends or order in you will truly feel at home relaxing at the Joshua Tree Explorer House. We have provided a Roku TV for when you need a good movie night but we highly recommend heading outside to enjoy our beautiful desert sky and the brightest stars you’ve ever seen. Be sure to bring a warm jacket or one of our cozy Mexican blankets outside with you during the winter months as the temperatures drop at night this time of the year in the desert. Also highly recommended: turn on the record player and play a board game with friends. I bet you have forgotten how fun that is!
Take a 2-minute drive or a 15-minute walk to reach a wide choice boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants in Joshua Tree. Yucca Valley is also close by road, and the West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park is only a few miles away from here.
  • Perfect place to stay while visiting Joshua Tree! Very clean and comfy space! Would stay again!

    Mary2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very trendy, clean, and a perfect location. If traveling with a pet, the backyard was extremely spacious for some rounds of fetch, especially after a long car ride. The house was stocked with everything you need for a relaxing get-away. What my fiance and I loved the most though during our trip was how QUIET and peaceful the house was - a true get-away in the desert. I've previously done the camping route in Joshua Tree NP, but opting for an Airbnb with a comfortable bed, a kitchen, heating/AC, makes everything so much more relaxing. We had a lovely time making s'mores in the oven after a day of exploring at the park and enjoying a relaxing shower and an early night in a comfortable bed. Additionally, the house is in an excellent location, very close to town. Natural Sisters Cafe is just down the road and offers healthy smoothies, breakfast/lunch options to kickstart your day. I would definitely come back and look forward to future trips. Please don't hesitate to book!

  • Great place to stay in Joshua tree! Super close to the park as well as town and anything you might have forgotten at home. Bed was super comfy and the heating worked well! Large kitchen to make meals in. Just bring your own cooking oil, spices etc. was a great stay.

    Eryssa2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I planned on going hiking in Joshua Tree and needed a place to stay for a night. Those who wish to stay in a stylish, modernized, and trendy home, this is it! Caitlin was thoughtful in arranging all the necessary items to make me and my guest feel comfortable. The location is surprisingly very close to Joshua tree national park and nice local restaurants which made it that much greater. She provides a booklet of activities/restaurants around the local area in the case people would like to do something for the day. She is a great with responding back with any questions or concerns I had. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who comes out to Joshua Tree.

  • A wonderful place to stay. Quiet with serene views and comforting amenities. If you want to use the pool, make sure you book in the summer but the hot tub was wonderful.

    Carrie2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Just WOW! This place really made our stay in the desert a special one. We loved the pool/hot tub/hammock and they had everything we need to cook lunch and dinner. They even had a washer and dryer. The house is located 5 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants as well. We loved that they had yoga mats to do yoga in the morning. This place is well decorated and the bed was insanely comfortable. All the flora and fauna was intoxicating around the premises. We highly recommend and will be back!

  • Bianca and Clint are the perfect hosts. They provide a relaxing setting. Great to visit with and they made sure we knew how to access everything. The house has a beautiful pool and an amazing yard. We loved our time and will certainly be back.

    Staci2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing spot. The house itself is well-appointed, classically styled while maintaining an inviting, cozy ambience. The pool is pristine (if a bit chilly in Jan!) and we spent a lot of time taking in the views from the hot tub. We also enjoyed many of the eateries and hikes listed in the guidebook provided by Bianca and Clint. A wonderful trip!

    Betsy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a trip to Joshua Tree and the cute surrounding towns! Very cool place and great hosts!

    Julia2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED this house! The vintage furniture made it feel so cozy, and the desert Mountain Views can’t be beat! It’s super close to joshua tree which made it the perfect base camp. We loved the hot tub, and the pool would be amazing in warmer weather. The only thing I hadn’t realized from the listing was that there’s no freezer at all. Don’t make my mistake: grocery shop accordingly, but don’t let that keep you from this wonderful spot!

    Charlotte2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding! Charming 50’s vintage style with today’s standard for quality and cleanliness. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Responsive hosts, thoughtful amenities- what more can you ask for?!

One of the best locations in Joshua Tree! Gorgeous, modern, light and airy geodesic studio with high ceilings with a private patio, bocce ball court, and other little hangout areas. 5 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree, restaurants, and the Noah Purifoy Art Site, and 8 minutes to the west entrance for Joshua Tree National Park. An easy 10 minute drive to the Integratron. The perfect way to experience the desert in style!
Spacious geodesic studio guest house with a private patio and extremely high ceilings! There is a speaker in the shower that can actually fill the entire space quite well given the acoustics of the room.
Super close to downtown, the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, Noah Purifoy's Outdoor Art Site, and an easy drive to the Integratron, the Orchid Farm, and La Copine. Groceries and food are very accessible from The Geodome and there is a corner store about 1.5 miles away.
  • Swanky, stylish place with Netflix and close to everything.

    Lindsey2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Geodome is so cute and the location is perfect for a weekend getaway !!!👌

  • The stay at the Geodome was the best!

We really enjoyed how clean and modern it all was. Checking in was easy, and Samantha and Valerie were super helpful throughout the whole process.

We found the location very convenient to the Joshua Tree Park Entrance, alongside the local groceries, coffee shops, and dinner (La Copine!)
Amenities was also a real highlight for us — as we cooked breakfast and enjoyed the morning sun in the courtyard.

Thank you again for hosting us at the amazing Geodome!

  • The Geodome is such a unique, fun place to stay. It is the perfect size and retreat for a couple. The porch area is lovely and the coffee was great. The shower is small, but it wasn’t a problem! We liked the location a lot being closer to the town of Yucca and about 20 min from the west entrance of the park. Def recommend!

  • My friends and I truly enjoyed our stay. Not only was it beautiful and so clean, Nikko and Tienly were very accomodating and amazing. This is the perfect little peaceful getaway filled with positive vibes.

  • Nikko and Tienlyn’s Geodome was the perfect escape for a little romance and a place nearby Joshua Tree National Park so we could explore! The Geodome was adorable, cozy, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for a wonderful stay! Loved the shower with the Bluetooth speaker for a wonderful experience. Now I need one! Also loved that they had access to Netflix and Hulu for movie watching! This is a place we will definitely be back to!!

  • The perfect setting for a romantic getaway in the desert. Only 10 minutes from the Integratron, our main destination. If you would like to book the Guesthouse, please send us a brief email with your booking request and tell us a little about yourself and your party, and/or your plans while in Joshua Tree. Thank you!
Welcome to the Saguaro Hideaway Guest House! The Guest House is an open, studio-style cottage. The bedroom is not able to be closed off as it does not have a door. It is only suitable for a couple or a single person. The house sits on 5 acres of open land with stunning desert and boulder views in every direction. Each morning the sunrise offers a new show outside the large picture window. Watch from bed as it lights up the Monument Valley stretching out toward the National Park. Or take a desert walk at sunset to catch a gorgeous sunset cascading down the nearby mountain range or relax outside on the patio at night and get lost in the star filled sky. The house is a charming colorful nest with artful touches throughout. Great for artists, writers, or a romantic getaway for two! There is a full kitchen if you are planning on cooking as well as a gas grill on the patio. We also provide free wifi but because we are located so close to the mountains it can be spotty at times. THERE IS NO TV. We have an i pod dock for tunes and shampoo and conditioner in case you forget! The Guest House sleeps two and the bedroom faces East so the sunrise will be your view if you are up early! There is a swamp cooler in the house rather than an a/c unit. We are a 5 minute drive to the park entrance, another 5 minute drive into town, right up the hill from the Onaga Conservation Open Space Preserve, and a 20 minute drive to the famous Pappy and Harriet's. Also, while in town some other places worth visiting are the Integratron in Landers, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum, Dhamma Dena, a Vipassana Buddhist center, and the Lou Garrison project for live music. The Saguaro Hideaway mainhouse listing across the way https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2866481. Please note this is a shared property. The houses are separated by the driveway but are positioned in a way that creates privacy. We hope you enjoy this beautiful property as much as we have and hope your stay at the Saguaro Hideaway Guesthouse is an unforgettable one. *Please note: We DO NOT ALLOW PETS And this is a NON smoking household. We do not accept one night stays
The land is sacred to us and hopefully when you are there, you will feel that connection also. The Joshua Tree Highlands neighborhood is very quiet. Most parcels are 5 acres, and many parcels have no houses. It is very remote. Many of the local people advise popping the hood on the car at night so that the critters don't chew on the wires.
  • The guest house is an amazing place to stay in Joshua Tree, from the excellent location (mere minutes to the park!) to the fact that it’s east facing so you can take in the gorgeous desert sunrise with a coffee in hand. The place is stylish and exactly as pictured. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone travelling to Joshua Tree.

    Anita2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the spot to stay if you’re going to hike/explore the park for a few days. One of the best rentals I’ve stayed at.

  • 5/5 stars! Was as cute and lovely as we imagined!

    Kathleen2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first time to Joshua Tree. This was the perfect stylish, minimalist, quiet, dessert getaway in a great location. It had beautiful dessert views during the day and the clear night skies were amazing. The apartment was simple but very nicely curated and had everything we needed. Cynthia, Jessica and Malia were great hosts, providing detailed instructions and great communication. Overall would highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

    Jason2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We could not recommend this place enough! Perfect for two people, super close to the Joshua entrance but just far enough you didn't have to deal with the traffic. The back wall overlooks the most beautiful desert and the best sunrise you could want. I would definitely book again!

    Kelsea2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Favorite place we've ever stayed in Joshua Tree! Beautiful view of Joshua Tree (and the sunrise especially!), just a few minutes from the park entrance, lovely space with a lot of natural light and a great kitchen and seating. Highly recommend, and we'll absolutely be coming back!

    Sam2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A memorable experience in a picture perfect home!

    Jilian2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia, Jessica And Malia’s guesthouse was a wonderful place to spend a couple days in the desert. My favorite part of each day was spending a quiet sunrise among the cacti. The interior space is cute and simple in the best way and the exterior was absolutely magical.

A reimagined one-bedroom homesteader cabin, located on its own 5 acres of pristine Mojave desert, perched between Joshua Tree National Park and Pappy & Harriet's in Pionertown!
A re-imagined 1950s homesteader cabin on 5 acres of open Mojave desert, surrounded by Joshua Trees. We fell in love with Joshua Tree, found this little 450 sq ft cabin, and decided to make a go at restoring it. Outdoor wood-burning fireplace for ultimate evening hang experience. Instagram: @thehidesert Interested in other dates or arrangements? We also have: • The Hi Desert Ranch, 5 bedrooms, four bath, two hot tubs, one swimming pool on ten acres (sleeps up to 20) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21056709 • The Hi Desert Ranch:: Upper Grounds (sleeps up to 14) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/20217872 • The Hi Desert:: Lower Grounds, (sleeps up to 6) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17073573
The Homesteader is located in an area known as "The Mesa" by the locals - people are drawn to its wide-open desert vistas and amazing sunsets. Most properties are on 5 acre lots, with lots of open desert in between, so houses are more scattered about. At night you'll definitely see more stars than neighboring house lights. Shooting stars abound here - maybe because you're drawn up into the night sky out here. Our nearby neighbors are two horse ranches - some days you'll see more horses than passing cars. It's a pretty magical place.
  • This was a peaceful desert escape in Joshua Tree! The house is in a prime location, and it is thoughtfully styled. You’ll get incredible sunrise and sunset views and even some wildlife sightings (if you’re lucky). My girlfriend and I spent a lot of time in the park but were delighted to come back to such a relaxing space under the stars each night. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene weekend away.

    Brian2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this charming, rustic (but well-equipped) cabin in the desert. It felt secluded but was also very well-located for the hikes we wanted to do in Joshua Tree, and close to grocery stores and other shops. Being able to watch the sunrise from the porch each day was incredible. There was plenty of kitchen utensils and pots and pans for cooking, and the hosts were very responsive and welcoming.

  • We loved having a little getaway here at Michael & Jennas place, its in such a great location, the space is clean & cute & perfect size. being able to look out the window & be surrounded by joshua trees & see the snowy mountain tops was such a treat. this is my second time coming to stay & i will definitely be back !

    Annabelle2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place with awesome details like a record player. It is very clean and comfortable. We had an awesome time and really enjoyed staying at Michael and Jenna’s place. Highly recommend it.

  • Enjoyed staying here so much! Would love to go back. Highly recommend!!

    Amanda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place for a weekend getaway. Secluded but also close enough to shops between Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree. The shower was a bit tight for a 7 month pregnant belly, but was fine for just a few nights stay. Loved the decor and the little bedroom nook. Thanks for hosting us and a great trip in Joshua Tree.

    Mark & Sarah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My SO and I stayed in this little home 2/13-2/15 and had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful aesthetic of the decor and the desert landscape. The home just absolutely perfect for two people trying to enjoy each other’s company away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The home is perfectly situated within 15-20 minutes of local must-sees. On the evening of 2/13 after watching the sunset from the outdoor patio, we drove out to Pappy & Harriet’s for dinner and live music. On 2/14 we had breakfast at Big Rock Cafe, explored the Nate Pirifoy’s Outdoor Desert Museum, and then explored the little town of Joshua Tree where we enjoyed a late lunch and live music at The Joshua Tree Saloon. Later, we stopped by Von’s to pick up some groceries to cook up a late evening Valentine’s Day dinner after sitting out by the fireplace on the patio drinking champagne and dancing to music from the record player. On our last morning there, we hiked over to the nearby hill and climbed halfway up for an amazing view of the sunrise before walking back home to cook a quick breakfast and enjoy our last few hours at the home, enjoying the tranquility of the desert landscape. I highly recommend this little home; you will not be disappointed.

  • Awesome cabin! If you’re looking for a cozy little place to stay the weekend in, then this is it. They have everything you need to be off to a good start. I usually come up to ride but this trip was just for relaxing, and that’s exactly what we did! The jacuzzi is definitely nice during those colder nights. The furnace is a warming touch that can get the cabin cookin if you maintain the fire! Recommend!

    Jerritt2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved this little cabin! It’s so cute and cozy! It’s close to the village and restaurants. The Uber’s were only about $10 bucks each way which was very nice and convenient. The hot tub is the best part ! We enjoyed a glass of wine out in the hott tub. There’s beautiful lights above as well that set a great ambiance. The hosts were very accommodating and had good communication. Super easy to find, loved our stay thank you !

    Kourtney2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the cabin! It's super cozy and had everything we needed. It's in a woodsy neighborhood which we loved, but it's also super close to the town center - best of both worlds! Marc and Esther were very responsive hosts and we'd stay at their place again in a second!

    Carly2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay at Marc an Esther's place. We spent most of our days enjoying the fresh air, making fires, enjoying the hot tub, and feeling cozy in the loft. Fast internet speeds along with Netflix made our stay even more enjoyable.

    Anthony2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great. The mountain was super close by.

    Kevin2020-02-24T00:00:00Z

  • Place was great. Close to the slope..

    Derrick2020-02-12T00:00:00Z

Enjoy extraordinary PANORAMIC views of the mountains and ski slopes at our renovated mid-century chalet, with decor inspired by our travels to Switzerland! The space is a thousand square feet with an open floor plan upstairs, large windows, and vaulted beam ceilings to bring nature indoors. Throw a log in the stone fireplace, stare out at the incredible views, and create lasting memories. At night, star gazing from the deck will take you away. Enjoy cooking in the modern kitchen or do some grilling on the deck while taking in the fresh mountain air! Downstairs you'll find two small bedrooms, where they stay toasty and warm due to central heating. Both bedrooms have a queen memory foam mattress on a log frame bed with down pillows, down comforter with cotton duvet, and wool blanket. Bedroom 2 also has a twin roll-away bed stored in the closet which can unfold to sleep a child. There is one jack-and-jill bathroom downstairs that is shared between (and accessed from) the two bedrooms. The bathroom layout places the sink and shower in one compartment and the toilet and laundry in another compartment, with a pocket door separating the two areas of the bathroom to add some privacy. Upstairs you'll find the common areas under our high ceilings. There is a large sectional sleeper sofa in the living room that will comfortably seat all of you when you binge-watch Netflix on a snow day. The sleeper sofa is brand new with a queen memory foam mattress. We have plenty of extra pillows and blankets to keep you cozy. There is also a full bathroom with tub located next to the living room. The dining table overlooks the view and was custom made by us out of solid hickory. Two benches and two eames-style chairs will seat all of you when dining in. A flatscreen 4K Roku Smart TV in living room with Smart BluRay player will allow you to access our personal digital movie library, Netflix, as well as your accounts with Hulu, Prime, HBO Go etc. We have both plug-in speakers and portable bluetooth speakers for jamming out. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies and utensils. Linens and towels are provided. Other features include charcoal BBQ grill/smoker, wood burning fireplace, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, wireless high speed internet, tv in one bedroom with built-in DVD/VHS and classic movies. You like games? We have a foosball table, playing cards, puzzles, and board games including Apples to Apples, Sequence, Monopoly, Scrabble, and Sorry. Out back we have a fun rope swing, string lights, and tree stumps for hanging out in the shade of our giant tree, Snuffy! Please note we do not have air conditioning - you won't find AC in typical 1960s mountain cabins and it's rarely hot enough. For warmer summer days, you can open windows to take advantage of the natural cross breezes from our hilltop, augmented by our 3 portable fans. Your well-behaved and house-trained pooch is welcome with a $20 one-time pet fee per dog. The front deck is a great perch for Fido to overlook the neighborhood and watch the birds and squirrels, but be advised the back yard is not fenced and the neighborhood is visited by coyotes. Don't leave your pet unattended. The steep uphill driveway can park 2 cars in tandem, provided they can all fit. At 108" wide between wall and railing, it is difficult for full size trucks and SUVs to unload. We recommend vehicles up to 74" in width. 4wd is ideal and low clearance vehicles are discouraged due to steep approach from street. Ask if you're unsure whether your car will be suitable. 1 vehicle can park at the bottom of the driveway before the railing starts, but it's a steep walk up with all your luggage.
From inside the cabin it feels very secluded. But we are in a residential area with other homes on all sides. Located in the Moonridge neighborhood, guests will love the peace and quiet, mountain and treetop views, birdwatching, moonrises, and stargazing. This residential neighborhood has some of the best views in town, thus many of the properties have steep terrain and steep driveways like ours. You won't have to deal with traffic on Big Bear Blvd heading to the resorts on snow days, as we're super close to the Bear Mtn shuttle lot.
  • Great cabin located near everything. Wonderful views of the slopes from the cabin. Sara and Eric are great hosts who will help with any questions you might have and give great local tips. Definitely recommend.

    Armando2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was very communicative and checking in was easy! Would definitely stay again!

    Kevin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • WOW is all I can say! After years (yes, years) of admiring Treehaus Chalet on Instagram and Airbnb, my husband our Staffy, Bronx, and I finally had the opportunity to come and stay for 5 amazing days. It was exactly as expected and as shown in all the photos...with the views even better in-person! A huge plus was that it's dog-friendly...and finding a really fun, unique place to stay can be difficult with a fur baby sometimes. Bronx was very appreciative! The cabin was fully stocked with kitchen essentials, which was perfect since we love to cook. Plus enjoying a meal with the mountains as the perfect backdrop can't be beat! We came here to prepare for a huge trip (hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in April which runs through Big Bear), so having such an inspiring view and place to stay was just what the doctor ordered. From the ski decor, to the foosball table, to the stylish touches of pillows, blankets, rugs and fabrics, to the stone fireplace and to Snuffy the tree with the macrame rope swing, nothing could get better than this! In fact, we loved the living room space so much that we ended up sleeping on the couch 3 out of the 4 nights we were there haha! (We are notorious for this as we're suckers for a comfy couch.) The location was fantastic and right in the middle of everything we love in Big Bear: hitting up Murray's in the Village on one side, to heading to the Fawnskin side of the lake to take our dog to play, take our truck on the Holcomb Valley back roads and hike. It's also an incredible location to Bear Mountain...though we didn't hit the slopes as we are saving any potential injuries until after we finish the PCT. ;) Sara and Eric were so quick to respond and you can tell they truly love sharing Treehaus Chalet with the world. We were so impressed that they put together a house manual filled with every local coffee shop, bar and restaurant's menus to scope out your next snack or meal. It was so hard for us to have to leave as our time there flew by SO fast. I can't recommend this place enough. To EVERYONE reading this review - stop looking and just BOOK IT! You can thank us later. :)

  • This place is awesome! Great view and perfect for a weekend getaway. Definitely coming here again.

  • Great view, great area, great hosts... highly recommended.

    Dana2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree Haus Chalet was the perfect getaway for us. It had breathtaking views and was quiet. We (my husband, daughter and I ) enjoyed playing foosball, board games and sitting on the balcony or the chair swing. I couldn’t get over the beautiful views each day from the balcony. The place was clean and cozy. All instructions and communication was very clear and Sara ans Eric were available if we needed anything. This place is close to many restaurants, coffee, donuts and skiing/tubing/snowboarding. We would love to come back one day.

    Paula2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If we could give this place 10 stars, we would. This place is exactly as they describe it, if not better. The views were breathtaking, the house is adorable and so cozy, and the hosts were AMAZING. This is a perfect place for a honeymoon (or getting married in the kitchen when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate). The beds were comfortable and the fire place was great to get cozy. We visited in the winter and we do not know how to ski or snowboard so the village was about the only place with something to do. Sara and Eric gave great suggestions for dinner and activities, and made us feel right at home. Thank you for an AMAZING stay.

A recently remodeled, former homesteader cabin, this three bedroom two bath home is the perfect place for a group of friends looking for sacred space for some quality time, creative projects, or digital detoxing. Cielito Lindo Retreat sits on a special piece of land within walking distance of downtown Joshua Tree (i.e. the Natural Sisters Cafe, Joshua Tree Roasting Company, the National Park Visitor Center, and the Joshua Tree Saloon), while bordering the Coyote Hole Conservation Area, a protected and less-visited slice of wildland home to coyotes, petroglyphs, and incredible boulder canyons waiting to be explored by you. Just ten minutes by car down the road, and you’re at the gateway to the National Park. Our home has three bedrooms, each with memory foam mattresses (Casper mattress in the Master) and cozy bedding. Each room is equipped with mini-split units for heating and air conditioning, so regardless of what’s happening outside, you can be comfortable on the inside. A She-Cave with a pull out couch can be used as a fourth bedroom - or a place to watch whatever your heart desires on a big screen TV. While we’re huge fans of enjoying the great outdoors, sometimes a day of hiking and sunset hot tub soaking is best capped up with Netflix and popcorn on the couch. The home has two full bathrooms - both with a white-cement, walk-in shower. The en-suite master bathroom also has a full-size tub, with a perfect view of the National Park mountain line and southern sky out an oversized window. A state of the art kitchen and mid-century dining room are the perfect place to cook up big brunches or dinners after exploring the park. Dine outside in the al fresco table that seats up to 16. A sitting room with plush couches is the perfect place for morning coffee as the sun rises in the landscape window at back. Our home is equipped with all of the finest creature comforts - a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a bar cart, a bookshelf of books and games, and blazing fast wifi. A hot tub sunken into an infinity deck looks out into Coyote Hole, and is the perfect place to watch the sunset, the moon rise, or the Milky Way flicker on. Take an outdoor shower - with hot or cold water - before, during, or after your tubbing. Our home is on Coyote Hole, a quiet conservation area that acts as a wildlife corridor for coyotes, jackrabbits, and other wildlife. WIthin 10 minutes walking out the back door, you can find 1,500-year-old petroglyphs, on the level of what you would see miles deep into the National Park. Local legend is that this area served as a Native American children’s hospital, evidenced with stones and offerings found from tribal communities around the US. The home has held team retreats, birthday parties, and larger format events. Let’s talk!
We're located right next door to the Joshua Tree Village!
  • Very much enjoyed my time staying here—my only regret is that I didn’t book a longer stay. The outdoor hot tub was amazing. Such a beautiful, peaceful property. Would love to return.

  • Our stay at Donna’s cabin was absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking and the private cozy vibes were perfect for a relaxing getaway. The cabin had everything we needed to cook our own meals and everything was very clean and tidy. Being able to hot tub under the stars was a great way to end a busy day of sight seeing. Donna is a fabulous host! She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for and more. We experienced some unusually high winds one of the nights at the cabin but it just made our stay even more memorable. We didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Donna in person but she was extremely responsive and even had maintenance come clean out the hot tub the next morning after the wind storm so we could use it again that same day. She is helpful, thorough and just an overall wonderful host. We definitely recommend staying at Donna’s cabin and we look forward to coming back again soon!

  • Fantastic location with wonderful views

    Royce2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It is fabulous! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. Sitting in the hot tub at night there are stars above and lights below. No homes located above this cabin. When we arrived we knew it was going to be good. The longer we stayed, the better it got.

  • Without the tent, this was a lovely glamping style stay. The outdoor hot tub was beautiful for a sunrise soak with the birds and mountain ridge color. And if not the hot tub, then soak in the tub located on the covered front porch. Outdoor eating, indoor eating, everything you want to prepare and eat a lovely meal. Perfect for a couple. Donna was a helpful friendly host. A wonderful stay.

    Helen2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin and everything it offered was absolutely amazing!! The views were incredible from every viewpoint. Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was pure bliss and just what our bodies & mind needed. We will definitely be back!!

    Kelsey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Serene, quiet, absolutely peaceful. Very clean with everything you need. Great hiking out the back door and the stars at night make you aware of how small everything other thing is. Get your perspective de-cluttered!!

    Sheila2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay and Donna was a super host who directed us to local points of interest. She made sure the cabin was lit up and warm since we arrived late. It was a beautiful setting where we could truly relax and unwind.

    Megan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderfully unique experience! We spent two nights here - the winds were crazy the first night and actually knocked the power out for a few hours but that just added to the experience! The outside bath and shower were fun to experience. I’m so glad I was able to sit in the jacuzzi on the 2nd night once the wind stopped. So many stars! The bed was heavenly- we slept so well. Last but not least- Donna was an amazing host. I highly recommend this place for a one of a kind experience.

The Original Joshua Tree Homsteader Cabin! Located in north Joshua Tree, enjoy the solitude and peace of the Western Frontier in style + modern amenities on several acres. This is one of a oldest modernized homesteads left in California - upgraded for new experiences!
The property includes both the Main Cabin as well as the Guest Cabana, and otherwise unoccupied. The Cabin has a fun kitchen (fridge, microwave, gas cooktop, toaster oven, coffee maker with coffee, kettle with tea, pots/pans/cutlery/all that), a brand new as of September 2019 huge bathroom, the dining area, the queen sized bed area with a 50inch 4k TV (Netflix/HBO), and surprisingly good wifi. The mini satellite Cabana / 2nd Bedroom has incredible desert and mountain views from your cozy queen sized bed. Both areas are cooled and heated. The wood burning stove is only decorative but the electric one does just the trick for chilly season ambiance. The Cowboy Pool or Cowboy Cool Dip is 6ft by 2ft high - dips over laps! Given its thin metal walls it is not heated. The dipping season has begun for 2019! All photography & commercial use must have written permission before booking property.
The property is in the Copper Mountain Mesa section of Northern Joshua Tree, with huge expanses of desert to explore and call your own. The land has an indescribable sense of calm and peace, with clean air and no sounds of civilization!
  • Outstanding host! Location and home both amazing and unique! Loved it and would love to come again!

    Aidan2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this desert experience!! Ryan is a great host. The place is easy to find when you follow the clear instructions. The main house and smaller room were both very comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and perfect for us - group of four adults. We particularly enjoyed hanging out in the garden and the outdoor bed for stargazing. In and around the house they’ve added many personal touches and decorated the property with the most interesting finds. We left feeling very inspired. Thanks!!!

  • A very peaceful location with plenty of view!

    Ben2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolute gem in the desert. To wake up to wide open spaces, vast skies and incredible sunrises and sunsets- this is what this place offers.

    Sanjay Kabir2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Another fantastic stay at the Chaparal Mesa. I've been coming to this place for years and I really can't imagine a trip to 29 Palms staying anywhere else. I love watching how the space has changed over time, and all the little personal touches Ryan's put in to it to make it cozy. This is my favorite airbnb location of all time!

    Jacqueline2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! Much better than I expected:) I would highly recommend this house to everyone I know! It is very large plce for 2 people, perfect for four people I guess.

    Jimin2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. Looks like the photos. Great communication and easy to follow directions. We had a lovely time and wish we could’ve spent another night there. Definitely take advantage of the outdoor space. Also the shower was super cool. 🙃

    Cat2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan’s place is exactly as described. It was the perfect place to disconnect from the busy day to day. My kids loved exploring the landscape and spotting all of the wildlife. My husband and I loved sitting in near silence watching the beautiful sunrise and sunset. Town is only about 15 minutes away but when you are at the cabin you feel like you are the only ones there. I would recommend this place to friends or anyone else wanting to get away for awhile.
