“You just can’t beat the location! Sit right over the crashing waves and watch the sunset as you enjoy the bar menu on the right (fish tacos!) or the fancy menu on the left.”

“One of Souther California gems. Beautiful, relaxing and not as crowded as Laguna Beach or Santa Monica. Great food at Fisherman's restaurant with surfers surfing at your feet:)”

“(Lunch/Dinner) - Same ownership as South of Nicks but American style food. Heart of downtown San Clemente. Again, get the butter cake, one of the best desserts in San Clemente. ”

Mexican Restaurant

“First- there are two South of Nick's locations now. The one in San Clemente is my favorite for dinner, food, and general vibe. But the one in Laguna in on the 2nd level on the inland side of PCH, so it does have a beautiful ocean view and is great for sunset drinks. South of Nick's is one of my two favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. It is a more upscale Mexican cuisine with phenomenal, flavorful food, a great drink selection, and some tempting dessert options. This place also is extremely busy, so definitely get reservations on the weekend. I also enjoy eating at their bar. My favorite bites include the crispy spicy ground beef tacos with refried beans and street corn, butter cake, and their horchata cocktail for dessert.”

Route
“You can reach this by simply walking straight down the street towards the beach. That is a route with many stairs, but several resting spots with benches and great views at Sunset. I recommend starting there, it's less than a mile to the pier, great walk. You can return via the streets at the end of the path where the train is, and stop at Ellies for a sweet treat!”
