“Located just beyond Pantai Pasir Hitam, Tanjung Rhu has one of Langkawi’s best shorelines. The waters are as clear as crystal, the sand is powder-fine and driving towards this beach you’ll have to pass a dense corridor of jungle. The area is absolutely secluded and the atmosphere is silent and peaceful. Bordered by intermittent limestone crags, Tanjung Rhu is gorgeously breathtaking and even though it may be as hot as Hades in some of the other areas of Langkawi, here the air is crisp, clean and cool”

“Literally translated to Skull Sand Beach or Sandy Skull Beach, its rather ominous name is based on several local legends that have been passed down through the years. Some claim that it was named after bodies of unfortunate sailors were found washed up on the beach after a massive storm while others believe them to be the victims of a sea monster.”

“Rafting at Wangsaithong is a soft core activity when compared to white water rafting or rafting in the north of Thailand. The more leisurely waters of Khlong Lam Lone average about only about a meter in depth with just a few sections of deeper water and rapids where the water flows more rapidly through the rocks. So overall, it’s a very relaxing experience, like taking a ride to look at the nature. The water is crystal clear and you can easily spot any rocks below the surface, with thick forest standing tall on both banks. Those with no kayaking experience can safely take on the rapids because the tour guides will insist that life jackets and safety helmets are worn ”

“Follow the trail to the right and you will find yourself in an isolated beach. On slow days you may be the only ones there. Nice place for a swim but there will be no lifeguards so know your limits.”
