  • This place is a true gem. Wilderness Resort & Retreat is exactly what it sounds like. We stayed in tent #2 and it was close to the "hub", fireplace, and the water. The hub is where all the magic happens; the bathroom with shower (tents and yurts do not have their own- there is a cute little outhouse nearby the tents), meals, wifi if you need it (because you're completely off the grid, no cell service), and the deck with all the views. The saltwater cedar-wood run hot tub was one of my favorite amenities... among so many others! There is bioluminescent algae that just sparkled in the night when disturbed, i.e. throwing a rock in the water, but it has to be dark with zero light pollution. We lucked out one night where it was cloudy right after a full moon and it was just absolutely magical. The staff just makes this place. Marsha and Steve, who are the year-round caretakers are just rockstars. Shelly and Ian are just a killer duo that makes you feel right at home, like you were away with friends. We were lucky to have Nick, our chef, who treated us to delicious meals that were thought out and very well balanced. I couldn't have asked for a better girls weekend getaway! We are eagerly looking forward to returning. If you are looking to find a little hidden gem tucked away in an inlet, this is definitely the right place for a little slice of heaven.

  • What a great place! Andy and Liz did a great job of making us feel at home from beginning to end. The tent was well-appointed, comfortable and held up well to the wind and rain that we encountered the first night. We hope to return again.

  • Andy and Liz are exceptional hosts! Their friendly and welcoming environment provides a new twist to modern camping, while their accommodations provide everything you need (and more) to help you feel relaxed and unplugged from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Their detailed, eco-friendly concepts really bring new light on how we can reserve consumption and still enjoy the luxuries of life. Thanks for opening your little gem to the rest of us. PS: Best s'mores ever!

  • This place was even more magical than we imagined. The setting and scenery is beautiful and we spent our days swimming off the rocks below our tent, eating fresh oysters from the private beach and napping in the sun!Next time I would definitely stay for another day and do some kayak exploring! Any and Liz were great hosts and the food was delicious and we were huge fans of their sustainable way off life!

  • We spent an incredible few days in Andy and Liz’s beautiful yurt and tent. It’s the perfect place to chill out and wind down away from the city and enjoy time on and next to the water. We had some pretty wet weather while we were there, but the cosy fire in the yurt, the collection of jigsaws and board games, and the delicious food made by Andy and Liz meant we were glad of the excuse to laze inside!

    Ali2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Andy & Liz are wonderful hosts and we so enjoyed our off the grid stay in their guest tent. It’s a slice of heaven and a perfect place to unwind and be still.. Thanks again for sharing your amazing place with us!

Open the door into another of our yurts and experience yet another flavour. Enjoy the eclectic décor, fun and bright. Be close to the outside as you are inside. If you listen closely you may hear the deer wander through & the owls calling out to you

  • Saria showed us around the beautiful grounds and buildings of Xenia. The slightly larger Buddha yurt was available, so she put us in there which we appreciated very much. We had several nice conversations with Saria, she was always available and helpful. The sound of light rain on the yurt at night was very calming and magical.

  • Xenia was a serene and beautiful place to escape to. We loved our cozy accommodations, the great energy in the lodge, the lush green grounds, the farm animals, the infrared sauna, and our visit with the 1000 year old tree. Hope to return soon!

As you leave the garden gate and walk the gentle sloping hill, look to the left, there is Buddha sitting on the step waiting for you. Open the door of this yurt and enjoy the decor as the peaceful energy melts into your essence.

  • Xenia was peaceful and beautiful and relaxing getaway for us. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Yurt and gazing up through the rooftop every morning. We also loved all the dogs staying with other people there and the horses and the pig. Would definitely stay here again.

  • I had my mum stay at this beautiful retreat and she truly loved it. It was an experience for body and mind being surrounded by astonishing nature. Also, the hosts were utterly inspiring and took great care of my mum. We can only recommend this place.

  • What a great find for a quite getaway just outside the city. The yurt was located on a gorgeous property with tons of communal space. The 5min walk to the lake and hanging with Charlie the potbelly pig where just bonus. Our host Maria was very friendly. Will return!!
