  • This is a great spot.

  • Looks just like the pictures! It’s great to be away from everything. No cell service no WiFi (a landline is available). If that’s what you are looking for, this is the place. If you get car sick, make sure to bring something with you because the drive can make you nauseous.

  • Beautiful cabin located way up in the mountains. We had epic weather with snow and sunshine! We can’t wait to go back. Cheryl is great and the cabin is perfectly equipped for our two small families. The kids had a blast in the loft! Thank you Cheryl!!!

  • This is the loveliest cabin in the breathtakingly beautiful Sequoia forest. The cabin has everything you need, and the location is perfect if you’re looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of the giant Sequoias. It’s truly the most peaceful and magical place!

  • This was our third time visiting this cabin. We have loved all our stays here and will be back again. Cheryl is a fantastic host and went above and beyond to help us with some vehicle issues we had.

  • If you are wanting a place secluded, beautiful views, amazing cabin then this is it! We stayed for the week of Christmas, the drive up was amazing! Everything you need is in and around the cabin. Great amenities, everything was very well thought out. They already had firewood set up next to the fireplace, coffee pot, toaster, all the glasses and cookware you will need, board games, movies for the kiddos, TV with USB port if needed and DVD player. There is wifi too if needed as well but lets be honest you wont, go outside and spend time with the family or just let mother nature reset you. The day we arrived we recieved a thankful check in from Cheryl making sure we had everything we needed. If your staying for a while get groceries in town it's not far 20 miles or so but once you get to the cabin you don't want to leave the breathtaking views, some days your higher than the clouds and that is awesome! So the only two things make sure to get food and take your trash with you or drop off at the local drop off which has seasonal hours which you can check on before you go. There is a book that Cheryl had set up with local hikes and other info, the 5th I believe 3000 year old Sequoia tree is about a mile and a half hike with directions from the cabin. We met some other people who had rented cabins around the area and after seeing our location, well they were jealous, it is that amazing! Make sure if your coming up in the winter 4x4 and chains have them with you. Or snow tires and carry chains. There is also a little store in Camp Nelson that has some groceries if you forget anything, it's just a little pricey. The only issue we had was leaving to came back home.

  • Very cozy cabin! We were literally snowed in for the long holiday weekend with our dog and it was perfect. Cabin had everything we needed and was very relaxing. Enjoyed the wood Burning stove, DVD collection, puzzles/games, etc.

  • I think I saw a mountain lion. I would say about two years possible adolescent . It was about 3 am I woke up periodically to keep the fire Going. Then I had peeped out into the wilderness I saw the figure back track it’s steps . No eyes glaring. For too long at least it might of turned it head and slowly retraces it steps. Now The deers were to die for literally gorgeous animals. They are wonderful memories our my family. Thank you boots.

This modern cabin has lots of glass and 16 foot ceilings. Shady and cool at 6800 ft. in a quaint village at the end of the road, peace and quiet abound. There are no nearby stores or restaurants, you should bring your own food. Tap water is fine for drinking. Great hiking right out the door , a private lake nearby and Giant Sequoias all around you! The cabin is in Giant Sequoia National Monument, Sequoia National Park is a 3 hour drive.
700 square feet of living space. Kitchen in the great room. Bedroom with queen bed, full bath & laundry. 2 level deck with gas BBQ. Wood stove. Limited phone & WIFI service. TV & DVD player. The bathroom in the basement is not part of the rental space.
Sequoia Crest is a small village at the end of the road, located on an in-holding within Giant Sequoia National Monument. It is cool, quiet, and shady with views of the valley lights far below. Giant sequoia all around.
  • My partner and I stayed at Mark's cabin for a quiet Thanksgiving break for two. We had so much snow while we were there, almost up to our thighs! The drive up and down was a bit of a challenge (make sure you have snow tires or chains if you're coming in snowy season) but the snow also made everything incredibly beautiful... The cabin itself was super clean and well furnished. It feels like it was probably built very recently? There's a fireplace and the heating worked well so we were always warm inside, and the kitchen was clean and well furnished; we cooked a huge TG feast in that kitchen and brought home a ton of leftovers. The whole four days we were there all we did was build fires and take naps and romp around in the snow... We watched four different movies snuggled up in bed (there's a TV and DVD player in the bedroom and we had brought our own DVDs from home). We also brought a bluetooth speaker with us and it was great to have some music that way because it's so incredibly quiet up there... I think we saw less than five people during our whole stay. We never got to meet Mark in person but he was very kind and quick to respond to any of our questions (there was no cell phone reception but the cabin has wifi). Would love to come back when the weather is warmer. Strongly recommend!!

  • A very comfortable, pleasant cottage in a beautiful location. We had a very enjoyable stay.

    Roger2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Mark's. The location is perfect - there are hiking trails within walking distance, as well as many more within driving distance. After spending all day out hiking, Mark's cozy cabin was the perfect place to retreat and relax. We'll be back!

    Kristi2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. Had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Great proximity to Sequoia groves, even had quite a few trees right out front!

    Nick2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place! Perfect vacation close enough to hike and see some great parts of the sequoias, also very cozy.

    Travis2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing cabin nestled in the sequoias! Absolutely recommend if you want an escape!

    Angel2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. Very clean and comfy. Amazing location. Peaceful and dead quiet. Great host. Make sure you go see the Stagg tree (4th biggest tree in the world). It's a nice easy trek walking distance from the chalet. Also make sure you bring your groceries. The area has very little to offer in lieu of supplies or restaurants. This is a great spot to turn everything off and chill for a few days. (It has good wifi for emergencies though)

    Fab2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect spot to get away from it all. Surrounded by trees, it is truly peaceful, and once you park your car, you could just relax up there your whole trip. There are lots of attractions within walking distance but we weren't sure how safe it was to walk along the narrow roads, so took our Honda Civic down a few dirt tracks - it did fine, but a 4wd would have been better! Pack bug spray (some was provided, but be prepared, it is the forest) and enjoy the sunset from the deck. So great to have access to an awesome community and some insider tips on things to do close by.

Enjoy privacy and soothing views of the forest from this cabin in Sequoia Crest. Wander down easy trails among giant sequoias, climb 9115' Jordan Peak or enjoy Poppy Lake. Sequoia Crest is surrounded by the Giant Sequoia National Monument located in the Alder Creek Grove of Giant Sequoias. It is home to the Stagg Tree the 4th largest tree in the world. Sequoia National Park is a three hour drive. Price is for two guests. Each additional is $15 a night Fri. and Sat. are $210. Co tax included.
Our cabin home has a classic vaulted ceiling, with a wall of windows looking into the forest of evergreens. Lower level den with TV. We are a three hour drive from Sequoia/Kings' Canyon national parks. Guests are able to enjoy the entire cabin. If you don't bring your groceries from home shop in Porterville. The closest restaurants are 20 minutes or more away. Due to our wilderness location your cell phone probably won't work. The cabin has a land line phone and Spectrum TV and internet. We may meet guests when they arrive to answer questions, but will be heading to our home on the coast that day. You can call us if you have additional questions. Sequoia Crest (elevation 6800') is a unique community of private homes (103) within the Alder Creek Giant Sequoia Grove, home of the 5th largest tree in the world (Alonzo Stagg Tree). Sequoia Crest is surrounded by the Giant Sequoia National Monument. Private Poppy Lake is 1/2 mile away. Trails lead to Hossack Meadow, Alder Creek & the Jordan Peak trail. We are not near Sequoia or Kings Canyon national parks. You must use your own vehicle to get there. There are miles of trails to walk and hike. Bring your snow shoes or cross country skis in winter. The cabin key will be found in a combo lock box, located on the railing opposite the garage side-door. After you book, we'll email the code. We will not be at the cabin, but are just a phone call away. There are 103 cabins, but only 18 full time residents in Sequoia Crest. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Only a few cabins are rented out, so most people you may meet will be cabin owners. You'll need your car to get there and your legs to hike. If you walk the 2 mile loop around Sequoia Crest's paved streets at sunset, you'll see Porterville's lights 6000' down in the San Joaquin Valley. Just walking (or driving) the paved streets of Sequoia Crest, you'll see many giant sequoias. Please be respectful of private property, especially near and around the giant sequoias, as we have had some vandalism in the forest lately.
The neighborhood is peaceful & friendly. Due to fire danger we do not have a BBQ. We do have a 'George Foreman Grilling Machine'. We also have a 'Mr. Coffee', toaster, microwave, coffee grinder, 12" electric frying pan, Oster blender, crock pot, waffle maker, electric mixer and a food processor.
  • One of the best getaways we’ve had! This cabin was so cozy and beautiful! We had the greatest time relaxing in the jacuzzi on the deck and exploring sequoia crest!

  • What an amazing cabin! I don't think the pictures do it justice. The hot tub on the balcony was our favorite! Sitting in the tub while it snows is particularly magical. The gas furnace in the living room gave a cute rustic touch. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The perfect escape from the big city life of la.

    Lisa2020-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • By far the best place I’ve ever stayed. Beautiful views, very homey feel, had everything and then some that you could possibly need, no complaints whatsoever. Will definitely be staying again.

  • This place is amazing. We felt like we were in a cabin in the woods all by yourselves. There was lots of snow on the ground so we didn't do much outside .. but there were sleds so we took advantage of that!! had an over all wonderful, restful time! definitely love the Disney+ on the TV :)

  • Maggie’s house is amazing. It is a beautiful open space with views over the mountains. It is very remote which makes it so peaceful. The sequoias are incredible and everywhere outside. We were lucky with the weather so the drive up the mountain was fine, it might be a bit tough in the snow, 4wd definitely needed. Maggie was super helpful and easy to deal with. We enjoyed our stay here so much and would highly recommend staying.

    Kylie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is BEAUTIFUL with many stylish and thoughtful touches, many good amenities, it was CLEAN throughout, and the location is truly close to God! We enjoyed views out to the giant sequoias, the clean-burning fireplace, play time in the snow, and the peaceful evenings looking up at the stars. Thank you, Maggie, for a great family vacation.

Outdoor Campsites available for 1-5 campers. Bring all of your own gear, food, and kitchen supplies. Outdoor composting toilet and shower. Hiking, Biking, Climbing tours available for fee. Each site is unique w/ outdoor beds, hammocks, and platform beds from trees. 15% of our Airbnb proceeds go towards volunteer-driven land and river restoration projects with the local non-profit organization WildPlaces. Our guests are invited to volunteer (see (URL HIDDEN) for calendar of events).
Spontaneous decisions are rewarded here. Planning to camp? Camping to plan? A little under prepared? Super prepared? No concept of how seasons work, but with relentless determination to camp? Luckily, you have found the Land that Xico and Mehmet stewards and your request to stay is immediately reviewed. Our little secluded paradise is a blast and accepts exceptional people. Friends from the Aztec, environmental justice, spiritual, and playful communities come here regularly. No camp neighbors, no tourist shuttles, just straight up nature as it gets. We are both accommodating hosts and are passionate about our community and the environment. Connect with us. Do some brain picking with us or just be surrounded by some juicy-land love. "Xico and Mehmet are one another's dream weaver and run a dazzling array of ranch, nature, spirit and song," says recent guest Iggy. The land has a communal patio equipped with an outdoor kitchen and a comfortable living/dining area next to a camp furnace (affectionally called The Franklin). The entire setup is warm and inviting and it's easy to find yourself cozied-up on a couch next to the fire with a book and their lovely pets. You will inevitably fall in love with the pets -- Tule the tour guide dog. It's the best you're going to get for the price. It's only $10-$15 more than camping in the national parks but the solitude here is superior to designated camp slots in the parks. And if you came to hang out with some Giant Sequoias, the Trail of 100 Giants is just an 1.5 hour drive from the property. Dome Rock and its climb opportunities is even closer a nice little spot with the perfect view overlooking the Sierra. Xico and Mehmet are knowledgeable locals and they can craft an experience for you if you just ask. Go out there and have fun! Side tip: Visalia and Exeter Ca are near by eclectic small cities
Springville is the gateway to the Giant sequoias and many recreation opportunities. The town is small and our place is located just out of town at the end of a very rural road.
  • The profile for Chico's and Mehmet's campsite looks wonderful but doesn't even do it justice. The site itself, the ambience of the property, and the overall surrounding natural beauty are exceptional. Highlights include access to the beautiful river, great nearby hiking, easy drive into Sequoia national park, and outdoor showers. This will be one of the best camping experiences you'll ever have.

  • This place is an absolute paradise! The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We stayed over the weekend to get some fishing in and this place was above and beyond my expectations. We fished, we swam and we made some amazing new friendships! We will definitely be back 100%! Thank you Chico & Mehmet

    Liza2020-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment you book your trip, Xico is there to guide you. He has great communication and prompt reply time. Our booking was the idyllic camping trip for my family of four adventure starved humans! We set up our tent along the Tule river; we slept and awoke to the relaxing sound of the river bubbling over rocks and branches (no need for my relaxing nature sounds app!!). We could hear wild geese fly overhead as we prepared our breakfast over an open fire. My children swung on the swing beneath a watchful tree and explored the grounds unfettered; touching moss, collecting kindle, and meeting the local caterpillars. We Loved this place!! We hope to return again and again.

  • Beautiful home and wonderful hospitable hosts! It is very chilly during the winter nights so dress warm and layer up.

    Wendy2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • So lovely. We got to camp directly under the milky way.

    Allie2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mehmet & Chico have cultivated an incredible space for serenity & adventure. My husband & I had the pleasure of chatting with Mehmet on our first night in town. He is a passionate, intelligent man who cares deeply about nature and educating the world around him. He was helpful in getting us situated and suggested hikes & adventures for the following day. I highly recommend camping at Mehmet & Chico’s property!

    Lauren2019-07-20T00:00:00Z

My rentals were never meant to be like a Holiday Inn. The rentals are rustic, as they would of been in 1890. There is no television or wifi and only AT&T works in this are. If you do not have AT&T, you can drive down to the rest stop by lake Success and your phone service will work.
The theme is that of a old western town. For the purpose of amusement although we do have running water and electricity and a hot plate to cook on rather than a wood burning stove.
Many of the adjoining properties around the rentals are ranches.
  • Alfred, was extremely accommodating. We booked last minute, and everything went smoothly. The tavern style cabin was adorable, comfortable and private. We will definitely be back!

A 1960s A-frame cabin that sits at 5,620 ft (1,713 m) on the border of the Sequoia National Forest (not park) w/ views of the valley below. Enjoy the off-the-grid feel without sacrificing comfort. It takes around 40 min to get to town, but the beautiful drive is worth the amazing view & wood burning stove. Comfortably sleeps 4 people (1 queen-sized bed, 2 futons). Kitchen w/ essentials, satellite WiFi & Sonos speakers for music streaming. Please do not forget to read "Other things to note"
The Seqouia A-frame cabin sits at 5,620 ft (1,713 m) in the Sequoia National Forest with amazing views of the desert below. 40 min to town. It's more or less off-the-gride, so it's a perfect getaway for those who want to disconnect from city life. Here are some details on this gem: THE CABIN - On roughly 0.5 acres of land. There are two cabins within view, however, they are second homes and they're usually empty. So, it's relatively private - 1 loft bedroom - 1 bathroom - 1 wood-fired stove w/ firewood available - 860 square feet - 1 living room with a 42" flat screen (not pictured) and new couches/chairs - Audio-Technica record player w/ 2 Sonos speakers in the house (feel free to bring your own records) or you can just stream music from your phone - Internet-enabled TV w/ Amazon Fire - WiFi throughout house - 4 electric wall heaters w/ a wood burning stove - I'm allergic to dogs and cats, so I don’t allow animals since I stay in the cabin quite frequently, however, I’m amenable to allowing certain hypoallergenic breeds. Feel free to message me if you have any questions - Plenty of hiking trails nearby and a beautiful lookout from Blue Ridge just a short 0.3 mi walk down the road - It occasionally sees snow, however, I keep pretty close tabs on the weather in the area (specifically at that elevation), so I'll let you know what the weather is like. It shouldn't affect your access as long as you've got chains and an all-wheel-drive vehicle - Since the property runs on a well, when the weather is extremely cold, I sometimes have to turn off the water. So you may have to turn it on and I've provided instructions in the guest manual sent via AirBnB. Additionally, we ask guests to be considerate of the water they use to avoid running the well dry during the dry season THE KITCHEN - All you need to bring is your food (and drinks)! - Coconut oil/salt & pepper for cooking - Seasoning rack - 1 oven w/ a stove top - Completely stocked with cooking needs, including pots, pans, serving dishes, coffee mugs, glasses, cookie trays, colander, and more - Plenty of cooking knives - Enough forks/spoons/knives/plates for at least 4 people - Includes a french press and coffee grinder - Toaster (not a toaster oven) - Dish soap, cleaning pads, and a drying rack (no dishwasher) - Includes paper towels, oven mitts, measuring cups, and various other kitchen utensils THE BATHROOM - Soap & shampoo provided (I currently don’t have shampoo for all hair types, but I’m working on that) - Hairdryer provided...you never know - Turkish towels (I'm on the minimal end, so I don't stock washcloths). For now, I don't have a washer and dryer in the unit, so you'll have to use the drying rack. For guests staying long-term, I can arrange to have fresh towels delivered with an additional cost of $30 per delivery of towels (goes directly to my caretaker) - Toilet paper provided...just in case there were any concerns ;) - BBQ grill available upon request
Sequoia National Forest, Grouse Valley, Balch Park, Mountain Home State Park, Blue Ridge National Wildlife Refuge, Tule River

  • Beautiful rustic home in an amazing remote location. We enjoyed the breathtaking trip to the A Frame, and loved the space. Everything is as described, sparkling clean, and well appointed. Nicholas was very responsive and helpful at every step. Thanks, Nicholas!

  • Amazing cabin!!! Private , secluded with fantastic views.

    Turner2020-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely amazing and Nicholas keeps it in pristine condition. If you are going to stay here, know that it deserves your respect and care. It will offer you an absolutely wonderful stay and a cozy place to work amongst nature.

  • Nicholas’s place is amazing!! Me and my wife loved every bit of it. Everything you could possibly need is provided at the cabin! Great place to get get away from everything while still having some of the luxuries you have at home such as WiFi and heating. We highly recommend and will definitely be back!

    Colin2020-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space that is perfect for a weekend getaway. Accurately described in listing. Very clean and Nicholas was very helpful and communicative. Would definitely return!

    Adam2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and secluded cabin. Close by hiking around the blue ridge lookout, perfect for exploring the nature or just staying cozy inside. Like Nicholas says, come prepared for the weather as the drive up could be tough, but worth it.

    Anders2020-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous location, great place to stay, excellent value. It was perfect for an isolated getaway and Nicholas was very helpful and communicative. I didn’t need my chains, but after making the drive I can see how, under certain weather conditions, you’d absolutely need AWD and chains.

The bunkhouse has viewing windows of the river. Relax down at the river in the hammock or use our picnic basket and have a picnic at the river! Swing out into the river on the rope swing (Warmest swimming hole in Springville area)! Finish with an outdoor shower! Venture to the Giant Sequoias or to Lake Success! Lots of opportunities to hike along the river or up a hill for a valley view. Woody can give you locations.
In the Bunkhouse we have, Wifi, mini frig, microwave, and crockpot. We offer grandpa and grandma's queen sized bed. We have a beautiful river setting with two dogs that rome the place (Copper and DOG). You really can't go to the river without them getting all excited. Just say SHOO and they leave ya alone OR pet them all day long if ya want. Or just relax in the hammock or the hammock chair and read a book while listening to the sounds of the river. We have seen and you may see, deer, raccoon, skunk, tree squirrels, ground squirrels, bear, bobcat, and a red fox (that lives in the rocks across the river.) (You won't see all these every day of course) Birds - we have scrub jays, robins, hummingbirds, house wren, black headed toehee, Great blue haron, canadian geese, mallard ducks, gold finch, mocking bird, turkey vulture, several types of owls, American dipper, white egret, kingfisher, and the black birds, sparrows, starlings. Oh, and our local wild turkeys. We have more acorn woodpecker in Springville area than anywhere else in the world. If ya want to fish just don't fish while someone is swimming near ya. Insects - think out in the woods and come prepared. With our dogs around, you probably won't see a snake - however, better to be prepared. So, we have walking sticks for you that can aid you if you run across one to move it out of the way.
The small quite town of Springville is 1 mile away. Springville is a gateway to the Giant Sequoias and many outdoor recreational opportunities. We have a really nice golf course, River Island, just a few miles away that follows the river. Success Lake is 10 miles from the Bunkhouse with rentals for house boating, kayaking and jet skiing. It is a fishing and swimming lake. Springville has a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Wednesday nights (weather permitting) we have local live music for people in the area at River Ridge and at Frank's (at the Springville Inn) - one mile one way and one mile the other way from us from Springville. Friday nights during the summer months we have live music from all over the valley at the Springville Park Gazebo (Free). In the summer we have open air family movies at the rodeo grounds once a month. And we have the once a year Springville Rodeo, Once a year Springville Apple Fesival, and the once a year Springville Jackass Mail Run. We even have a world renowned resident astronomer that has star parties once a month. Our little town has a great Cowpuncher's Cafe, Wild Oak Coffee House, the Hamburger Stand, two Mexican restaurants, and Franks place at the Springville Inn that all have really good food. Gifford's market is small but is complete in things you may need. They specialize in B-B-Que meats and have a very good meat selection.
  • The place is absolutely lovely! For us it had everything we were looking for. Everything was clean and the communication with Woody was great. With the river near by this place is wonderful, quiet and peaceful. Woody and his wife were really friendly and helpful. They gave us advise what to see and do in the area. We would definitely recommend it :)

    Johanna2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful. Immerse in the nature with two beautiful dogs around looking for cuddles. It’s been great talking with Woody, he can give you loads of tips for places to visit around, and he can also telling you interesting stories about his area. We’ll definitely go back! We need to finish “the Needles”! : ))

    Carolina2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time! Beautiful location near the riverbed where you can relax and drink your cup of coffee, or a glass of wine at the fire pit also near the river. There's no kitchen, but there is a BBQ where my husband and I made our steaks and steamed some veggies with aluminum foil pouches. There's also a mini fridge to store your food. Great place to relax and just getaway for a weekend.

    Jessica2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable little house!

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a pleasant and relaxing time here. I enjoyed drinking my morning coffee while sitting on the bench listening to the lovely sounds of the beautiful river right next to the bunkhouse. The bunkhouse is, indeed, a shipping container made into a nice cabin. It’s narrow and long, and filled with all you need to have a comfortable stay. I drove to nearby Sequoia National Monument (Camp Nelson), went on a hike and saw giant sequoias. Beautiful small town, enjoyed breakfast at the cafe just down the road. Friendly dog said hello every once in a while and black cat prowled the area keeping critters away. Recommend for a fun, adventure-filled short stay.

    Alan2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had our privacy and the location was just beyond my expectation. Very clean and awesome overall. I am very happy with my experience and woody himself is just a great man.

    Mersad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Woody’s bunk was absolutely beautiful. It was a little smaller than we expected but we still had enough space to move around. The backyard was huge. There were a couple of places to sit out and relax by the river. The bbq was perfect for making breakfast and grilling burgers for dinner. Their dog was adorable and extremely friendly. Sequoia National Park is a 1 hour drive from the bunk. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Adriana2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is incredibly serene, but a perfect balance of access to amenities if needed! Super cozy, and super close to the river. Woody and his wife were great hosts!

Stay with us to plan your outdoor adventures to waterfalls, trails, ponds, hear the frogs in the meadows and watch shooting stars in the black night sky or plan your own writer’s or artist’s retreat. We offer a loft with 1/2 bath, 2 private bedrooms with in-suite sinks, a shared full bathroom, and a guest living room. We're here to ensure that you have a relaxed stay without worrying about finding a lock box in the dark or turning on the water supply. Wake up to a delicious breakfast.
Located in the middle of the Sequoia National Monument, near hidden waterfalls, giant trees, miles of walking trails, and lookouts with amazing views, if you know where to look. If you rent an un-hosted cabin, you will likely miss the hidden treasures of the area. We will greet you with a glass of wine and guide you to find and experience the many sights in the area. Come stay in a warm, newly remodeled log cabin in a forest of pine, fir, sequoia, oak, and cedar. Enjoy a campfire and s’mores or sit out on the deck and watch the sunset. We are located in the cool air at 6400 feet with plenty of snow in the winter and plowed roads for great access. We are minutes away from the 5th largest tree of the world, the Stagg Tree, a 100-foot waterfall, Jordan Peak fire lookout, Nelson Creek for fishing, camping and backpacking areas, meadows, groves of quaking aspen, Dome Rock, and the Trail of 100 Giants. Why go to the National Park with thousands of tourists and tour buses when you can see these things without the fees and lines of cars? Instead of staying an hour from the forest in the hot valley communities, come stay in the tranquil forest. This is a great location to stay for several days and explore a different direction each day or plan your own writing or artist retreat. It was the perfect place where I wrote most of my books in this idyllic location, even inspired my main character name. Come write your own story! Room Descriptions: The Map Room, with in-suite sink, has a western view to beautiful sunsets and a whole wall map mural that will guide you to the many hidden treasures of the area. Wake gently as the forest starts to glow and make yourself a coffee with your Keurig in your room or come upstairs to enjoy a hot breakfast. The Bear Room, with the same amenities, enjoys an eastern view of dogwoods and thimble berries and glows in the morning light. The Loft has 2 queen futons, a game/puzzle table, private half bath and beautiful views to the north and south. A great space to add if you have a couple kids. The Guest Living Room downstairs provides a private space for our guests to watch tv, read, build a puzzle, or warm up in front of the fire. Most of the area has no cell service but we have Spectrum WiFi and limited ATT cell service from our deck. Breakfast is included with your stay. There are no stores within an hour, so you need to provide your own snacks and dinner. Our German host is a fine chef and enjoys cooking a delicious meal for guests with prior arrangement. It might sound great to rent an entire cabin, but without a host to guide your visit, you won’t know how to find the many unmarked trails, waterfalls, or vistas or know what berries are good to eat. We look forward to seeing you at Alpinhof.
Come experience one of the many local festivals or activities. • Springville Apple Festival in October and Rodeo in April. • Camp Nelson chili cook-off Memorial Day weekend or Mountain Festival in August • Ponderosa live music most summer weekends • The Steller Jays and white-headed woodpeckers are regular performers in the area.

It is the perfect location for the annual Apple Festival in October and Rodeo in April and only 7 miles to the base of the National Forest. The property is also close to Lake Success for those of you who like sunbathing and playing in the water. I am sorry to say but we do not allow pets.
While in the house you develop a peacefulness and can not help but to relax.
We have a park in town and on Friday night during the summer months they play live music. The Cowpunchers coffee shop is a fun place to visit for breakfast and Franks for a nice dinner, and Giffords Market for all your shopping.

  • Very spacious and clean place, right in the middle of Springville, about an hour away from a few good hikes in sequoia national forest. Wifi worked great, full kitchen had everything except no microwave. Easy check-in process and Randall was always available and easy to contact. Great value overall (especially if I had brought as many people as there were beds)!

  • Randall's place is a great place to stay if you are looking to spend time in Springville and the Sequoias. It is a large mobile home that was very clean with all the amenities. It sleeps 6 easily and more (large amount of floor space) if you bring air mattresses. Randall, was quick to respond and more than friendly. The price for the place was spectacular. We were in Springville for a wedding and wanted a place we could hold after the wedding (I did not want to drive back down into Porterville, late after the wedding. Again, it was perfect and right in town. Thanks again Randall.

  • I came here for a solitary getaway in nature after almost 2 months of sheltering-in-place in a one bedroom apartment with my boyfriend in LA. It was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate! The space is lovely and clean, even better than the pictures (which is rare). It just feels like it was decorated with love and intention, and Ken and Krista were so kind, calm and welcoming. It was great to be able to hang out in the various outside seating areas on the property and read and enjoy nature, or play fetch with the dog. While I didn't do much exploring since the Pandemic has many things closed, the property was beautiful and just resting there was incredibly life-giving.

  • I’m in this beautiful place- dreamlike really. Green mountains filled with the colors of spring and the sounds of our animal friends. Birds and raptors happily using the sky and the magnificent oaks as their playground. Clean air, clean water and quiet. A tranquil place. Neighbors with kind smiles and a sincere wave as I drive home after a long day of work. Ace the dog greets me when I pull up to the Casita. He’s genuinely happy to see me. A short bark or two- he wants me to throw the ball for him. He is an athlete charging down the hill to fetch my throw. He jumps and snatches the ball out of the air- usually on the first bounce! The Casita is clean, comfortable and very cozy. It’s well stocked having all the things you’ll need to whip up your favorite meal. There’s a big lounger and a very large comfy sofa. The dining table is intimate for two or six. If you need to unpack your laptop there’s WiFi that works inside and out. A big BBQ is here for roasting something delicious. The covered patio is spacious with seating for the whole family. You’ll want to get out and explore. There are National Parks close-by with huge trees to admire. The biggest trees on Earth really. The Tule River is nearby with its rushing water, babbling boulders and clear water. Swimming holes and pools abound. Come and enjoy this place. Leave the details to Krista and her husband. They will take care to make sure your stay is enjoyable and pleasant. There is a simple elegance in spending time away from the bustle of modern life. Come here. Cheers!

  • A midst the current world crisis, I looked for a place in the mountains where we could distance ourselves from everyone else, but at the same time, find the beauty this world has to offer. We found beauty abound at the Slate Mountain View Retreat in Camp Nelson. The home had the most amazing view of Slate Mountain, and the climatic conditions proved to be most favorable for our visit. We had a late winter storm blow-in and deposit some snow, but otherwise, rain and cool climate prevailed. Theses conditions worked in our favor for participating in some amateur (first experience ever) cross country skiing, hiking, walking, or just bumming around. The kitchen, common areas and sleeping quarters were all warm and inviting. Liana and Hans considered all the small details when they decorated, furnished and added their little extras to make these spaces feel so much like "my home". We certainly did not feel out of place in their home, nor did Midnight, our four-legged family member. The front patio called for some quality eating and sitting time. One of our most memorable moments of this trip was when we were eating on the patio, under the warmth of the outdoor heater, and watching the fire and ice (late afternoon sunlight, snow and fog) view of Slate Mountain when 15 deer passed no more than 20 feet away from us. Amazing moment for sure! Thank you Liana and Hans for being amazing hosts and super attentive to all of those things that made my family's visit a memorable one.

  • The cabin was absolutely amazing. The view was even better. The locals were so happy to have Archangel Ancient Tree Archive there and were so helpful to us completing our mission up to Sequoia Crest and Slate Mountain. We couldn’t have been more please with our stay. We were lucky enough and got to experience sun, rain, fog and snow on the mountain. I’ll never forget this trip. We look forward to coming back this summer! Linea, also went above and beyond and purchased cross country skis for us to use during our stay. -Thank you. Caryssa & Jesse

My Cabin setting is most defiantly a modern version of a cabin... Its a 2 story Cabin Home nestled in the Sequoia National Forest in Pine Flat California... It has 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, livingRoom, dinning room, kitchen, large front deck over looking all the beautiful pine, cedar, red wood and oak trees plus a back covered deck. Not to mention all the amenities it has available!
Central Heat/AC, The space consist of two queen beds in both rooms a full living room set with large flat screen television dish satellite services free Wi-Fi at Seven Oaks Market & Grill & California Hot Springs Resort & Spa... all Necessities for kitchen including microwave stove oven refrigerator coffee maker, dishes, silverware, utensils, along with providing the Linens complimentary breakfast which would consist of coffee tea milk orange juice & fresh cinnamon bread...
While not having the chance to live up on the mountain we have had ample opportunities to spend holidays vacations romantic getaways and the atmosphere is absolutely breathtaking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life to disconnect and recharge feels so good every time not wanting to have come home we have felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. The breathtaking views the quiet walks down by the creek and the sound of Mother Nature is all but the best.
  • Great place place to chill in the mountains and soak in the hot springs. FYI to future renters. If you are coming to an Air B&B in this area during thee winter months from the lake Isabella area, DO NOT , try to take the road north of kernville, take the 155 out if kernville to the 65. Also access to hiking is limited during winter months ( trail of giants) because of road closers. If you’re into Steaks 🥩, head to the restaurant/bar a couple turns down from the hot springs. • I loved this place it, it was nice and clean, they left eggs, milk and orange juice little breakfast items which was thoughtful when there isn’t many restaurants around. The trail of 100 giants was very beautiful and had a good time there. The town is small but I loved the peace and quiet it was a nice little change, we appreciated the host hard work to make the stay worth the trip.

    Patty2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

  • The Cottage Over The Barn is the perfect place for a traveling business professional. The space is large and comfortable with all the necessary amenities to make my stay stress free. The hosts, Monica and Rob, are warm, friendly, and accommodating. They provided all necessary information regarding things to see and do plus local restaurant menus and information. They allowed for privacy yet were available whenever I had a question. Plenty of space for off street parking in a safe area. I would definitely stay with Monica and Rob in the future and would highly recommend their studio.

    Wendy2020-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Monica was extremely helpful and the place seems to perfect a getaway.

    Evan2020-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Monica‘s place was great! She offered brochures for popular tourist spots, and her place was close to the river and hiking trails. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils and even a community cupboard. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t very strong and be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Monica was quick to reply to messages and questions. Overall, this is a place I would book again

My rentals were never meant to be like a Holiday Inn.
The theme is that of an old western town made for amusement. To take one back to the old west, but we do have running water and electricity, and a hot plate to cook on rather than wood burning stove.
The rentals sit around adjoining ranch properties.
  • This place is amazing! Great place to get disconnected from the world. Keep in mind, there was little to no phone service and there was no wifi at the cottage until you got closer to the city. There was a working heater and hot water! Which was a must considering we stayed during winter! Overall, great place to stay and would definitely stay again!

  • It is a perfect getaway.

  • Angelique’s Chalet is very lovely and perfect for our family with small kids. Looking forward to going back in the fall.

    Andy2020-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the cabin for a week, was a very nice trip! Location is prefect, nestled up at the top part of the mountain in a small town. Easy access to great hiking trails and close to a general store. Cabin is spacious, plenty of beds to accommodate large group. I really liked the set up, TV and internet worked great for movies at night time or working from home. There were plenty of needed items such a shovels (was there went it snowed), fire pit outside, towels, etc. The host was very attentive and communicated with me on all my needs whenever I had a question. I’d say the only thing I wish the place had was a wood burning fireplace inside for some wood cracking evenings, but the gas fire place did the job well :) would def stay here again in the future!

    Brandon2020-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cutest most remote cabin- very happy to stay here for a beautiful weekend getaway- will be coming back here forever!!!

    Abbie2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Angelique was super accommodating and replied quickly. The space was cozy and cute, with an amazing supply of dry goods and super easy instructions for how to prepare everything. It was everything we needed for a relaxing getaway, with some unexpected treats like waffle mix, a waffle iron, and an oatmeal bar! Would definitely recommend for a couple or small family.

    Jennifer2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely stay! Highly recommend Angelique's cabin. So cute and the perfect get away. The little touches made it that much better, like the oatmeal bar and the coffee station. Planning on returning!

    Virginia2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect weekend getaway cabin !! It is much larger than and spacious than I thought. It has all the thoughtful touches. The vinyl record player, the cute areas to rest and read, super comfy bed. Would have stayed longer it the place was available ! 5 stars !!! Can’t wait to come back !

    Alexandria2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Ponderosa, and Angelique was a very responsive host, would recommend!

    Laura2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing getaway just a few hours from LA. Honestly, I have not been so relaxed in years! The cabin was peaceful, adorable and had almost everything you could need. We were able to bring our own meals and all the little things we needed for food prep were provided. The town was quaint and quite, providing the perfect escape from the city. My only tip is that if you're traveling around winter, check online for road closures (Google maps doesn't reflect mountain roads).

  • Mark's place was very homey and cozy! There was a nice tough of about 20 DVDs to watch and that was nice. He was very helpful and always quick to respond. We felt well taken care of.

    Amanda2020-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Pine flat getaway was absolutely gorgeous from the get-go, and i mean the drive up! Winding country and mountain roads up to a tiny neighborhood tucked in the middle of nothing. It was secluded but not isolated. The house was surrounded by big beautiful trees and rolling hills and a couple of neighboring houses that were mostly empty. We enjoyed quite a bit of privacy, which was exactly what we were looking for! the lack of phone service was minorly inconvenient, but was actually a blessing in disguise because it got us to really pay attention to eachother. There's a big ol tub that i took full advantage of and loved and the candles were an especially nice touch. Mark was incredibly helpful with directions (listen to his! not the gps) and with tips on the town and stuff to do. We hiked down to the nearby waterfall, twice! It was the romantic, get-away-from-it-all, mini-vacay we needed. We'll defintely be back in the summer when all the other beautiful trails open up!

    Melissa2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy home , everything you can for & more. Great place to get away and enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery surrounding the home. Multiple trails nearby, people in the community very nice & welcoming. Definitely a hidden gem and will be back

    Edgar2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home & host!

    Mayzie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was worth the drive! It is such a secluded and peaceful place to enjoy nature without having to rough it out by camping with a tent. The home itself is super cozy and inviting. Nostalgic in style, but modern given the access to WiFi and satellite TV. This is a really well kept place, not to mention the hammock and bbq grill were nice amenities. I would highly suggest to plan your travels earlier in the day for the best visibility to get there as there are many narrow and windy roads. The address to where your navigation takes you is not necessarily where the actual property is. It is important to read carefully the directions, but I found it most helpful to use the 7 Oaks Market as destination on my smartphone and then took it from there. One of the great Airbnb properties in SoCal!

    Janine2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very cozy. Great location to see sequoia national forest. There were lots of snow when we drove up to the mountain for 30 mnts. heater and hot water work very well. But this place has no cell phone reception in this village. Navigation is also not dependable at all. We had to carefully follow owners instruction to find the house. Because of the road condition, mark was very concerned about us. Other than that we had great time doing snow play with my kids.

    Sunghye2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place. Take into consideration that it takes 45 min to get to the house from the main road. Beautiful mountain drive that winds-up all the way to the place. Great amenities and recommendations for the area. Bring groceries or plan to stop and see Ziggy at Seven Oaks restaurant for all your cooking needs. Overall great stay for seeing some sequoias in the area.

    James2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was an excellent host, so kind and understanding! I got snowed in at his place and he kept me safe, warm, and tended. He worked with lots of locals to tow me out after one of the biggest storms of the year. Mark goes above and beyond.

  • The Barnhouse was a great place to stay. It was super clean, had plenty of extra blankets and pillows and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and the barnhouse was quaint and beautifully decorated. Located in a small town surrounded by woods, ponds and hills. We will definitely go back.

    Jennifer2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • When you drive up it's easy to find where to park. The Barn entrance doors are very cute. The pond is right beside the barn. It was too cold for us to try a dip, but I think the summer might be refreshing. The kitchenette is the first thing you see and there was fresh fruit and a kind Note on the table. The bedroom and bathroom is upstairs, but it's an easy walk up. All the cutest touches of the Barn made our overnight stay wonderful. Be ready to listen to natural Springs flowing and frogs croaking in the evening and wake up to woodpeckers in the morning. Way better than freeway sounds...

    Mia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z

This is a no frills camp site that features two platform outdoor sleeping structures with exposed open area as well as full on camping as well. Private yet close enough to the common areas and river. ONLY the platform rooms have basic needs such as bed with blankets, pillows and outdoor showers. There’s minimalist lighting so you can enjoy night stargazing (Bring a headlamp). We provide clean, fresh bedding that are mixed-matching sheets ONLY at every platform reservation. *Please note that if you are booking camping sites, YOU MUST BRING YOUR ENTIRE CAMPING GEAR WINTER...days are 45-55 degrees often sunny and colder at night (30-45 degrees). It rains sometimes, so be prepared with rain gear. The winter landscapes are green and beautiful (think of Ireland) with snow capped mountains and the sounds of the river running right through the land. The stargazing is most beautiful and profound during the winter. There’s some fun time snow sled and cross country skiing locations within an hour and for a family fun day. Land is quite green and lush with morning fog and mist during the day. We have a lovely Franklin Wood fireplace to keep you warm before you retire to bed. We also provide extra blankets and recommend that you come in layered clothing. SPRING...is the most beautiful time of the year here and rates will go up significantly. We are blessed to have the wildflower season that will enliven your senses with the lupine and indigenous California poppy flowers plus a dozen others colors and flowers. They are in bloom from late March to early May. The snowcapped mountains are still in view until late April and wildlife sounds with rapid Tule river is intense and quite cold but strikingly beautiful of the force coming from above. Stargazing is also quite stunning with potential full moons chilly nights and warm days for nearby hiking. *Due to forest fires campfires are only allowed in accordance with strict forest service enforcement at any given moment. Know that we honor what is the best safety for your stay. SUMMER...is all fun time with clear river and safe to immerse your self with low pools of river water. Swimming and dipping in river is at your own risk The weather is quite hot and can reach up to 100 degrees, but don’t let that deter you as access to the river is cooler and the visits to high mountains are much more tolerable weather for hiking and other activities during your stay. The summer time is very dry with limited green grasses and only wild flowers in the river bed. Lots of outdoor activities and if you decide to bring the child in you, no worries we have a children’s play ground on premises. Land is always busy with local activities that could include river cleanups, tree planting ceremony and Aztec sweat lodge known as Temazcal if you get lucky. Lots of other young people always around to create friendships here. So if you wish to mingle you may do so or if you wish privacy we honor that too. Campfires are not allowed at this time but we do have a safe common campfire pit that can be used for cooking as well. This is the busiest time of the year during holidays and weekends. So expect the common area and common kitchen to be busy. FALL...the weather is most tricky due to climate change but expect low water levels on river and cool nights with potential early weather changes. We are generally are booked solid till Nov. There’s a local farmers market and access to both Parks and Monuments are open till the first snow generally in late November. The highest peak when it snows that is accessible is Ponderosa located about an hour from this Airbnb. Our spaces are perfect for those looking to make an overnight trip to see the Giant Sequoias while on a budget. Our space is very private, no neighbors, night skies perfect for stargazing, and is a spiritual as well as a recreational location. The Outdoor Bedroom is on the land with our home nearby. It is a unique dwelling place open to the view, roofed, and perfectly suited for two. There is an outdoor shower and composting toilet adjacent to the room. No electricity. The listing is for the Outdoor Bedroom which accommodates two.
Springville is the gateway to the Giant sequoias and many recreation opportunities. The town is small and our place is located just out of town at the end of a very rural road.
  • Great place to get away! Will definitely have to go back again

  • Beautiful place to stay! Mehmet and Chico were respectful and attentive hosts. They take care of their property very well. We enjoyed lounging around their common areas. The river was nearby and our place had a great view. We hope to be back again soon!

    Jasmine2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Where can I even start? This place is amazing. Breathtakingly beautiful. We were immediately greeted by Buffy and my personal favorite (love them both though) TULE! They are amazing dogs, so friendly and loving. Tule stayed with us outside and kept us company every night. First time actually sleeping outside for me, so I was a little nervous but tule made me feel so safe. He’s such a sweetheart. He will walk with you everywhere. He definitely stole my heart and I will be back to see him! Chico greeted us with a huge smile and ready to make us feel at home. Fresh oranges were given on arrival, the best oranges I’ve ever had! The bed was perfect, it did get chilly but they had plenty of thick nice blankets that kept me super warm! God, the outdoor shower. I could go on and on about this shower, you are literally one with nature. Staring at the amazing view as you bathe is An experience I recommend to anyone. The stars are gorgeous here, the tule river is BEAUTIFUL, definitely walk down and see it! Can’t wait to come back when it’s warmer so I can swim! The outdoor kitchen is AWESOME. Everything you need is there, except the food. I highly suggest cooking one night you are there! The common area was perfect, super comfy laid back atmosphere and when we needed to connect the WiFi worked PERFECT. Chico checked on us each day and made sure we were good, he is such an awesome host and I can’t say enough good things about him. He’s a sweetheart who wants you to enjoy this gorgeous land. He is so giving and really so very nice. On my last day before I left, Chico gifted me a bundle of fresh sage that he had wrapped himself. Truly touching. I loved every minute of my stay here. If you’re thinking of staying here? DO IT!! :)

  • Such an amazing experience! Deff recommend to anyone

  • We spent one wonderful night at Chico and Mehmet‘s magical place. Their dog Tule stayed at our side during the night which was really cool. We can only recommend to try it out yourselves! We were sad we didn’t have one more night to be there and enjoy their river!

  • Agree with everyone else. This place was magical. Will never forget the place, the host or the dogs. When I come back to Sequoia in the future I will 100% be staying here again and sharing this special place with someone.

  • We spent the weekend at Chico’s place and wow! What can I say! I was going fully expecting a rugged outdoor living experience and it was the best of outdoor living with the sweetest touches and added comfort. The bed at this spot is extremely comfortable memory foam-ish. We took our 1year old with us and his pack and play fit perfectly next to the bed with room to spare. The place has plenty of hook to hand towels/backpacks etc. Beautiful star gazing from our bed, we got to see the full moon over the mountains from our bed, amazing! The shelter was just enough to block the wind and kept us pretty warm at night. Chico and meh meh provided plenty of warm blankets and towels for us. But can we talk about the outdoor shower?? AMAZING! There’s a small curtain if you want a little more privacy but the spot is pretty secluded and private. The shower has hot water and great pressure. The bathroom is great too. Nothing rugged about it. We even used the outdoor tub. I enjoyed a hot soak at night under the moonlight and during the day we used it to bathe our son. The common area has WiFi’s there’s a small fridge and freezer perfect to store your goodies. It kept our wine cold ;) at night we grilled steaks and potatoes and they have all the pots and pans you need and plenty of untensils and cups. We met two awesome couples while we were there and all shared the space to cook our dinner but there was plenty of room. And last but not least, the River was amazing! Beautiful shallow area where our 1 year old was able to sit and play. We made sandwiches and spent hours down there. Will definitely be returning and I recommend this to anyone 💕 weather was great during our stay!

  • Wow. This place is absolutely incredible! Mehmet and Chico are the kindest hosts we had the pleasure of interacting with. Tulle was such a sweet companion, showing us the way to the river where we got to cool off, and sleeping next to our bed the first night we stayed here. The outdoor shower was by far my favorite part - what an amazing feeling to be surrounded by nature while showering and sleeping. If we are in the Sequoia area again in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here!!

We are minutes away from the beautiful Alder Creek Grove with incredible Giant Sequoias, ferns, dogwoods and berries as well as the 5th largest tree in the world, the Stagg Tree. We are also just a few miles away from a 100-foot waterfall, Jordan Peak fire lookout, Nelson Creek for fishing, camping and backpacking areas, meadows, groves of quaking aspen, Dome Rock, and the Trail of 100 Giants. Room Descriptions: The Loft has 2 queen futons, a game/puzzle table, private half bath and beautiful views to the north and south. A great space to add if you have a couple kids. The Map Room, with in-suite sink, has a western view to beautiful sunsets and a whole wall map mural that will guide you to the many hidden treasures of the area. Wake gently as the forest starts to glow and make yourself a coffee with your Keurig in your room or come upstairs to enjoy a hot breakfast. The Bear Room, with the same amenities, enjoys an eastern view of dogwoods and thimble berries and glows in the morning light.

  • This is our second time staying at Fred's cabin and everything was just as fantastic as last year's visit. Fred really goes out of his way to ensure that guests are taken care of. He left a little welcome basket of coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks in the kitchen, then a variety of toiletries in each bathroom. Everything is clean and neat, with a relaxed, woodsy cabin vibe. There is a wide assortment of movies, games, puzzles, and books available, as well as a binder full of information about the surrounding area. This year, a snowstorm was in the forecast the days we were scheduled to visit. Before our trip, Fred checked in with me about the weather to make sure we knew what to expect. He even came before we arrived (twice, I think) to clear the snow out of the driveway for us. The next day, he called to make sure we arrived OK. For a relaxing mountain getaway, look no further than Fred's place. :)

  • Fred has made a wonderful home away from home here! It was very comfortable, lots of extra blankets if you need them, the temperature in the home was perfect when we arrived and everything was in order as stated. Since we arrived at night we were amazed at the beautiful surroundings we awoke to in the morning. Don't miss a cup of coffee on the patio before heading out to see the area. There were plenty of deer visiting the front lawn, which was a delight.

    Kelly2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fred's cabin on a mount indeed saw deer eating grass near its firepit, which we enjoyed nestled together under a starry sky. It's a 20-minute windy drive up to Quaking Aspen, which was where we were aiming. Fred also responded quickly when I had to book a place fast. The place was clean with all the amenities. The bunk cots were a little small for the adult humans, but we brought an air mattress and there was plenty of room in the living room for it. It was perfect for our cozy needs. Thank you!

There is a fire pit with swings and firewood is provided. The creek runs next to the house. The loft has a couple of air beds. You are welcome to use the coffee or any other items in the kitchen. Free WiFi as well as Dish on the TV.
The cabin is surrounded by pine trees and some redwoods. It is a small mountain community with a creek that runs next to the property. There are water falls a couple of miles up the creek if you are into hiking. Remember you are in the woods and there are wild animals in the area.
  • Our stay was AMAZING, my son (6 year old) , boyfriend and I spent 2 nights w/o a problem. The outside space is incredible. The deck and patio as well! So cute and cozy. And there’s plenty to explore outdoors 15 mins away. I’ll definitely be coming back

  • Such a beautiful place to stay. The outdoor area was AMAZING, the deck to eat and relax, the fire pit with the swinging benches and the gorgeous trees and the beautiful sound of the creek running behind the house. The people in town were so friendly! We absolutely fell in love with the town! The little store in town was perfect, they have some groceries and they also have a grill you can order from in there. We cannot wait to come back! Mary was so sweet and very responsive, thanks Mary for everything!

  • Incredible stay and AMAZING host! We even stayed an extra night!

    Sara2020-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a small rustic but very cozy and comfortable cabin in a nice and very friendly community. The property is nice with large trees and a pretty creek and we spent time around a small fire outside and a small fire inside. We took a 3-mile one way walk up a closed road from the cabin that was beautiful and very peaceful since the main roads into the mountains were closed in February. Bedrooms are small but beds were great. Be prepared to fix your own meals as dining options and grocery shopping options are limited. Very enjoyable getaway.

    Gerry2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great, comfy, intimate cabin. Mary offers many amenities and the place is extremely clean. Cant wait to visit again.

  • Thanks Mary for taking last minute booked. It is so accommodating with its multiple bedrooms, sleeping options, and bathrooms.Stunning inside and out.Very nice back yard fire pit area with swings next to a creek.Very clean and well appointed. We will make this cabin a yearly destination. Note:Beware of a Airbnb property not far from here for Over reacting host.Very terrible experience.

  • What you see is what you get. The pictures of the cabin and surrounding area is beautiful. This is a great place to disconnect and relax. Mary is a wonderful host who went out of her way to help us when we had some car trouble. We spent quite a bit of time at the local market and every person we met in the area was kind a caring. I highly recommend renting from Mary and I will definitely be back in the future!

Get away from the buzz to the peace and beauty of California Hot Springs in the Sequoia National Forest. This cozy, charming cabin is on a creek amongst oak, fur and cedar trees. Just 3 hours from Los Angeles.
This 700 square foot cabin is cozy and charming, with a woodsy, rustic feel. It is peaceful with a lovely view. The wood stove is central to the downstairs living area. The furnishings include a queen size sofa bed, comfy overstuffed swivel chair, cabinet with a wide variety of games, TV with VCR and DVD player, and a desk. There is a heater/AC unit on the wall that adequately conditions the whole cabin. The upstairs loft has a queen size bed and a dressing/closet area. The kitchen is pleasant and fully stocked with a stove, fridge, toaster-over, coffee maker (with a permanent filter), blender, pots/pans/dishes/etc. Outside, a deck looks out onto the creek that borders the property, and a ½ acre of fur, cedar and oak trees. For those who are electronically sensitive, you will love my cabin! No cell reception, Wi-Fi, cordless phones, smart meters or other equipment with RF. For all others, enjoy being unplugged. Take a vacation from all those gadgets and find out how wonderfully peaceful it is.
Please note: The Hot Springs Resort may be closed. I have been unable to find out if the Trail of 100 Giants is open or closed. My place is in the Sequoia National Forest (not the Sequoia National Park) at the end of a private road which is lined with lovely cabins and houses. Most are vacation homes, but there are just enough permanent residents to create safety in the wilderness. Everyone is very friendly, and it is quiet and peaceful here. The cabin is 3 miles from the California Hot Springs Resort where you can soak in the two Jacuzzis and swim in the Olympic-size pool, all fed by the hot springs. This resort is open all year (closed Thursdays) and also has a store, deli serving breakfast and lunch, and ice cream parlor. Pine Flat, where my cabin is, has an elevation of 3,750 ft. It is cooler in the summer than California Hot Springs proper and we do get some snow in the winter. Seven Oaks Market in Pine Flat is a few minutes away; they serve breakfast and lunch. Both markets sell groceries and other supplies but with a very limited selection, so it is best to bring your own groceries with you. Deercreek Lodge Restaurant/Bar, a bit down the road from the Hot Springs Resort, serves lunch and dinner. Deer Creek Redwood Grove is a small local sequoia grove about 4 miles from my cabin. Although I am not close to the Sequoia National Park, I’m only about 30 minutes from the "Trail of 100 Giants" which is a large grove with a well-marked nature trail where you can hike amongst the giant sequoias. I am less than an hour drive to Dome Rock, Sliding Rock, Needles Lookout, the Kern River, Kernville and Lake Isabella. (Note: Parker Pass, the road to most of these attractions, gets shut at first snow and is closed for most of the winter.) Hikespeak is a very good website for the Sequoia National Monument area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to look up information about the various attractions.
  • Love the space and location. It was a perfect retreat from the city and into nature. The creek right next to the house was really peaceful and inviting. You can open the windows and hear it all day. A lot of hiking trails that lead to a waterfall! Really glad I chose this place!

  • This was a birthday gift and the location of this place was accurate and very peaceful especially right next to creek was like a sound bath at night. Also the prices are very reasonable and will definitely consider to stay again and hopefully able to use burning stove next time.

  • Bibi’s cabin was very quaint, quiet, and clean. She was a great host, very communicative in ensuring we were fully prepared for what to expect. She has detailed directions on how to get there and instructions for everything else to ensure your trip goes smoothly (since you don’t have cell service). I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • This is a little magical mountain getaway spot. If you are looking for a cozy place to enjoy some time disconnected, this is your spot. Bibi is a great host and her cabin is nestled at the end of a road next to a creek. It’s quiet, peaceful and a perfect t place to slow down. The town itself is super small with not much to offer, but we were just looking to slow down at the end of a busy year so it was just what we were looking for!

  • Great space on the mountain! Not far from a decent amount of cool spots in the park. The house was the perfect size for our large group. Also, there is a bar across the street..

  • Great cabin for a family. The snow was close by and the restaurant across the street has big burgers with brioche buns and homemade soups! We had a blast.

  • The place was great! Amazing for the price! The kitchen fully stocked, and just so clean! Easy directions on how to check in, quick responses! A store right down the street for small necessities if you had forgotten! A great way and place to get away from the city.

  • We highly recommend booking a vacation in this home. Breathtaking Mountain View’s from every window and the deck as well. Everything needed for a comfortable stay is in the house. The house is located close to numerous hiking trails and fun adventurous recreation destinations. Would definitely book this house again.

  • A wonderful retreat in the Sierra Nevada Mountains . It is nestled within a stand of pine trees. You feel part of Pine Flat village while at the same time experiencing privacy around the house itself. The house is roomy, comfortable, and cozy. It has all the attributes one would expect in a home. Mark is a great host. He responds quickly, is attentive, and communicates well. I recommend staying here. I think you will like it.

  • Mark is a great host. He makes sure you have everything you need to stay and roam around the place. He provides a comprehensive write down with pictures that have everything you need in and around Tulare County. You will love your stay in this quiet cabin in the woods.

  • This a very special place. This smallll town of 150 ppl are Incredibly nice. I didn’t pass one person who didn’t wave or wish me a great day. The thing that was most special for me was the pine forest less than a mile away that you can explore. I went everyday to explore and sit with nature. The property itself was clean and had all the basics, we even Watched 2 dvds that were left for us. Mark was fast to answer questions too.

  • Mark was very attentive and cared for our needs. His place was cool and we enjoyed our stay. It is great if you’re looking for somewhere private, however it is a bit far from towns. Overall we would definitely come back again!
