Susan made me feel very welcome. A simple, quiet room surrounded by a beautiful yard and wonderful trees. Bathroom was very clean. Easy access to Stony Brook University and the surrounding area. I was able to visit with my family in Stony Brook but have a quiet room to retreat to at night.

Carlo and Susan were very welcoming hosts. There were attentive to everything I might need and very friendly, right from the start. We enjoyed some good conversation, and they also gave me plenty of freedom and privacy in the evenings, when I wanted to rest up from my daily activities. The house is lovely, in a quiet woodsy area, which I enjoyed. I was happy with my stay and would be happy to go back again.

Even if my visit was one of the shortest (only 2 nights) and will not necessarily speaks for itself due to its length, I can easily say that Carlo and Susan have tried from the very first second afeter my arrival to make me comfortable. The house is one of a kind that you really want to take care of (one of the cleanest home I have ever seen in my life, it is not a joke!). This location is very close to Stony Brook University but you will need a car to travel back and forth as there are not so many sidewalks on the way...or you can still call a local taxi!

The room is spacious, bright and clean. Bathroom is shared with two tenants and it's also extremely well maintained. Kitchen well equipped and the living area is very cozy. Susan was very friendly and experienced in hosting interviewees and students. She picked me up at the train station and we had a good conversation about the area and our lives while sipping tea. I would definitely recommend this place!

Susan and her family were great hosts. They picked me up from the train station and took me on a short tour of a nearby town and helped me pick up dinner. Their home is welcoming, clean and friendly! Susan drove me the next morning to my audition at SBU as well. Wonderful host -- if I'm back in the area, I'd be happy to stay with them again.

This is one of my first times experiencing AirBnb and Linnie was an amazing host . She made it feel just like we were at home and was always there when we needed her. With a smile on her face and a positive attitude, she really did make the experience 10x better. I really recommended this place to any couple who just wants some alone time and wants to get away. Stayed here for 5 days, and the apartment (which is actually their basement under their house) was really cozy, spacious, and clean. There were bread, jam, cheese, and snacks ready for us when we got there. There were so many other things stocked like shampoo, toothbrush/paste, DVDs, and a steamer! Didn't get to meet Gaby herself, but kept in contact with her husband who was the one who met us the first day. He was really friendly and took his time explaining the whole stereo sound system, thermometer, and other amenities. I met their adorable chow chow and fluffy cat but their chow likes to run half marathons in the middle of the night right above us and occasionally sings the songs of his people. Woke us up almost every night around 3-4AM. There is also no stove which was inconvenient for us since we were staying there for 5 days and had to eat out every time. Overall, I would highly recommend Gaby's place for a short stay because of the comfiness and cleanliness. Probably would not stay for longer than a couple of days due to lack of stove though.

The place is very tastefully detailed and decorated. Even though Gaby wasn't around, her husband Sai helped us with the check in and showed us around the house. We needed to do laundry as we had been travelling for many days and Sai was more than helpful in this regards by allowing us to use laundry at the premises. I really loved the complimentary cupcakes and well stocked mini fridge and snacks. The condo is true to its photos. The bathroom is very clean and has all amenities. The bed is very comfortable and the wifi is very strong too! The tv is huge and has lots of channels. The location might be tricky to locate if you don't have gps but Sai was helpful again in giving us directions over phone. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this place to anyone looking out for a safe and comfortable stay in or around stony brook.

My girlfriend and i have stayed at quite a few airbnb's and this one was by far the best!Everything you could need was provided. Huge big screen tv with surround sound. Desserts were delish, food and coffee provided for breakfast. Very well planned out. Great experience thank you :)

This is the best AirBnB place I've ever stayed at. Everything was as described and Gaby and Sai were very friendly and helpful. They picked me up/dropped me off at the train station and at Stony Brook University. They really went beyond anything I expected.

The description was acurate and very comfortable. It was very relaxing and she stuffed her fridge for us!!

We first communicated by email and had very prompt and useful information provided. Gaby even offered to pick us up at the train station! (We already had transportation provided by our daughter, who lives near by) The accommodations were way beyond what we expected. Everything was as described on airbnb and more. Gaby met us at the door when we arrived and took us on a tour of the room. We had asked her about cats, because my wife is allergic. Not only did Gaby tell us that they never enter the room we were staying in, but she thoroughly vacuumed the room before we arrived. Not only was the room very roomy, but she even provided cookies, bread, and other goodies so that we had "snack" food. Both she and her husband were very cordial, and so was their dog! We highly recommend this airbnb location.

Awesome location in Long Island. The host family is incredibly hospitable. They have a beautiful garden / lawn in the back and they take you in as part of their family. Their dogs are super friendly and love to be petted. Their new baby brings in so much joy and warmth to an already warm family. They provided me with delicious bagels and amazing coffee each morning. The bed was super comfy and I slept like a rock each night. Highly recommended!

Perfect location remote in the woods, casual, very good stay. Animals were great. The only thing is their barking if you go out and return late. May wake up the entire house but hosts are used to this blip. It was a lot of fun to interact with the dogs during the day.

This was our first experience with Airbnb and it was a pleasant surprise. Sophie did a great job in making up feel wecome, even with a cute "chalkboard welcome sign" when we walked in. It was nice to have a clean enviornment. We felt safe in the neighborhood and even enjoyed a run through their neighborhood in the morning during which we encountered friendly neighbors who were on their morning walk. We were pleasantly surprised to find out how close we were to the Village of Port Jefferson, since this is one of the places we enjoy visiting when we come to Long Island. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Sophie's place was great and she was a great host! She was incredibly responsive about booking and questions, and made checking in very easy. Every little detail was taken care of in the apartment - from little soap to ear plugs and eye mask. Everything was also incredibly clean. The location was a little far from Port Jefferson itself, but otherwise everything about the stay was fantastic.

Exactly as described, quiet, clean, no frills, plenty of street parking, easy access, safe area. Very close to Port Jefferson. We arrived at midnight, and Sophie and Jason were very accommodating; they left a light on for us and a key in a lock box. Bed was comfortable. Shower was clean and spacious. First-time Airbnb users, and we would definitely consider staying again. Thank you!

great time with great people

The location was great for our purpose, which was to visit our grandkids at Stony Brook school, less than 1/2 mile away. However, the room was small and cramped, and there was a problem with temperature control. The first night was way too hot, the second night the room was chilly, and the third night the temperature in the room was good. Linnie was a gracious hostess, and she tried very hard to accomodate our needs.

Staying here was absolutely wonderful. Linnie was absolutely amazing and tended to every need imaginable. Her home is homey and the loft is absolutely adorable. I would post pros and cons but I have nothing negative to say. She was absolutely wonderful and so was our stay. I definitely look forward to staying at both this house and her wonderful getaway in the Carolinas as well.

I stayed for five nights while attending a conference at Stony Brook University and it was just perfect. Only a short walk away from campus, the room is in a lovely house surrounded by a beautiful garden in a quiet residential area. The room is as described, very comfortable and cosy. Donna is extremely welcoming and friendly, she took great care of me during my stay, even providing me with breakfast, and always open for a little chat. I can only recommend staying at her place.

Her house was nice, clean, and is very close to SBU. If I had to pick a word to describe her house and property, I would choose the word enchanting. Her house is away from the road, tucked in the middle of a nice neighborhood. I enjoyed the pictures on her walls, and her garden. Her cats were not a problem at all. Sam and Viv are great hosts! We had a georgeos stay at their place. Nice breakfast and very nice conversations with them. The room is very clean and comfy. Sam picked us up from the train station and showed us around. We feeled very welcomed and will stay there again! Sam und Viv sind großartige Gastgeber. Sam and his wife are the perfect host. They come across as longtime friends. Their attention to detail made my family and I feel right at home. We enjoyed a few games of connect four together, as well as the fruit, refreshments, and books they left out. Sam was in constant contact and very accommodating. If there is anything you need he is right there. The upstairs apartment is very cozy only to be superseded by the incredibly beautiful back yard. Our only regrets were not having more time to spend back there. We will definitely be back when we return to Long Island. Give it a try you definitely can't go wrong.

Great, quiet neighborhood, relatively short drive from the beach. House was amazing, awesome backyard with multiple comfortable "cabana" style areas, nice ambience/landscaping, and a fire pit. Hosts were super nice and friendly, shared food and drink during dinner with us and set us up with snacks and dessert and a light breakfast. Also were kind enough to offer us a couple of car pickups/drop-offs. Fun people, quite funny, very kind.

We had the most friendly stay at Sam and Viv's place. We were staying here with our 10-months daughter for one night, on our way to the north. We finally regret we didn't stay longer!... The studio is completely private, clean and fit for purpose for a short or longer stay with complimentary snacks that were very appreciated after a long drive. The garden is just fantastic and we were more than welcome to use it. Sam and Viv proved to be amazing hosts (as well as their dog Coco!), welcoming and friendly, and invited us at their table like we were their own friends. I really recommend a stay here! Excellent! Sam, Vivian and coco where amazing hosts, when we arrived to their home sam informed us of all restaurants and markets in town, as well as leaving us a small map of the town. The home itself is very comfortable and well kept, waking up in the morning and being able to enjoy their amazing backyard was a total plus. We would definitely rebook with sam.

It worked well for our needs- we had an additional person at the last minute and our host was very accommodating - plenty of towels and blankets. We ate in most of the time and brought our own crockpot. It looks like the yard is beautiful in warm weather, hopefully we will get to see it.

Sam and his wife were the best hosts you can imagene for a trip to Port Jeff., Long Island. Their house, garden and hospitality exceded our expectation. The rooms are super clean, erything is new. They left water, juice, fruits and snacks for us, when we arrived. Sam offered a ride to the city.. also gave us taxi number for the way back. When we returned in the evening, they have lighten up a fire in the garden and left sticks with marshmallows for us.. In the morning we had the best home made breackfast in the pretty decorated Tuscany style garden. We had great converation over a long breakfast and coffee time.. real family style. All of us, 5 girls, really enjoyed our stay and were glad to make friends with Sam and his wife. We can't wait to go back in Sept to visit the nearby wineries. We will recommend to anyone for any purpose of staying.

I enjoyed my short stay at Daniel's place. Although I didn't get to meet Daniel and Brooklynn, communicating with them was no problem at all. They answered my messages promptly. The room was cozy and comfortable. It's a very short distance to Stony Brook University, which made it a very convenient location.

Daniel and his girlfriend were very polite and nice. They were kind enough to arrange for a scheduling issue I had that likely was not fair for them. The room and house were clean and neat. They were overall very hospitable--offering coffee, breakfast, etc. He plays some good music as well in the apartment. The apartment is not far from the Stony Brook Campus and is walkable if using the campus bus as well. I was very pleased with my stay and would certainly return if I'm in the area again.
