Places to stay in Settle

Places to stay in Settle
Our newly converted cottage is located 50 yards from the centre of Settle which has a excellent range of restaurants, pubs and shops. The location, although central, is only yards from the National Park with stunning walks from the front door. Registry Cottage has 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom. The lounge/kitchen is on the first floor, which makes the most of the great views. There is also a relaxed seated mezzanine area. We are dog friendly.
The large upstairs space is vaulted with very tall windows bringing in masses of light. Above the kitchen there is a mezzanine area with two large armchairs and table with games, great for kids to do their own thing or adults to relax. The bedrooms are both very cosy and comfortable, the master bedroom has a comfortable chair for reading. The cottage (converted from the towns registry office) with all it's interesting features has been a real labour of love and we are extremely proud of it. N. B. During this difficult period we have altered our cleaning regime to pay extra attention (using disinfectant and steam cleaners) to areas that are touched regularly, such as doorknobs, drawer pulls, the toilet flush lever, faucet handles, remote controls, light switches, seating areas, etc. We have also supplied the cottage with plenty of tissue, disposable paper towels and hand soap. If there are any additional safeguards you require please don't hesitate to contact us.
  • We loved our stay at this beautiful house. The location was amazing and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing weekend. We will definitely be coming back.

  • I recently spent a couple of nights at a Bruce’s Cottage in the centre of Settle and really enjoyed my stay . The cottage is really well designed and comfortable and Bruce was a great host , he had very kindly switched the heating on and left milk and biscuits so I could make a brew when I arrived . Very much appreciated after a challenging drive up in the rain ! The cottage is ideally situated within the village and for exploring the wonderful countryside in the area . Will definitely be back !

  • We had to cancel at the last minute due to ill health, Bruce responded really quickly to our enquires and was very helpful. We were very disappointed not to be able to stay in upside down in Settle.

The Garden House is small but perfectly formed. It is however a lovely place to spend a night or two in the Yorkshire Dales.. it's also just a short walk from Giggleswick and Settle. One room living with plenty of charm, ideal for a single person, a couple or 3 friends (a bit like a bunk barn, but more comfy).
The green oak frame building started life as my shed, but now has a heated stone floor, cosy bed deck, mini kitchen, shower "room" and composting loo (it doesn't smell!) The bed deck has a double bed and there's a day bed on the ground floor. It is basic, but does have everything you need to spend a weekend in the Dales. The bed deck, WC and kitchen are in the eves.. but what the place lacks in size it makes up for in charm.
The house is at the end of a quite road, direct access to the fells or a few minutes walk in to Giggleswick or Settle
  • Beautiful, cosy and well thought out dwelling, everything you need in a compact space with a very friendly host and stunning surroundings.

  • I booked with David at his Garden House in relative short notice, literally within the space of a few hours of booking and travelling there. Amazing and prompt communication to arrange the booking. The house itself is so idyllic, such a creative way of making a small amount of space into something quirky and relaxing, I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Situated perfectly just out of Settle but very easy to find (even in the dark ha) . Will definitely be booking again! 👍

  • This is a lovely and cosy cabin with more space than others that we have stayed in of a similar type. You have to be fairly mobile and able-bodied to use the ladder but we managed it fine. Great accommodation which we would book again if we needed to be in the area.

    Laura2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming little home from home. Highly recommend

    Tom2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to stay. The space is cosy with everything you might need.

    Lisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic little place! Everything you need for a cosy stay in a beautiful part of the world with amazing walks quite literally on the doorstep. The cabin was perfect for what I needed and David was a super helpful and friendly host, would definitely recommend.

    Jonny2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully presented small Airbnb with loads of character and in a lovely peaceful location with footpath from the door leading to the hills and river. Met by helpful host; dog was welcome. Everything as described. Lots of attention to detail. Thank you!

    Simon2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • David's tiny house was lovely. The house was tiny but beautiful and a very clever use of space. It was perfect for a couple's weekend trip. And the bed deck was so cosy with a comfy bed and window to the stars. The kitchen had utensils ample for cooking, or Settle had lots of good food choices. David's recommendation of Car and Kitchen was fantastic! Although the composting toilet wasn't quite for us, David's instructions are clear and it was a novel experience! I would highly recommend the tiny house for a lovely weekend away in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

  • The Nook is an excellent base from which to explore Settle and beyond! The space is clean and comfortable, as well as being well equipped. The log burner was a bonus for keeping warm on an evening.

    Michael2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is beautiful, in a great central location. Finding parking nearby was not an issue, as the roads are narrow and steep. We spent 3 nights here, it was very cold. But the cottage is so cosy with the log burner on. We would definitely return to the nook.

    Lisa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 3 nights in the cottage. It is a good size for a couple, and nice and comfortable. The wood burner gets it warm nice and quickly too. It is on a very narrow street as in the description, but parking was never a problem. Settle was a perfect base for exploring the Dales too.

    Elaine2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, warm and nicely put together. Super location for the town centre and local walks.

    Cath2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy nook. Great location, great walks from the doorstep with amazing scenery and walking distance to all amenities. Thanks for a great stay.

    Jo2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook is a stylish, well placed cottage with everything you could possible need to enjoy Settle. If you don’t book this place, you’re missing out on the best cottage for two that allows pets in Settle. On street free parking just minutes from the cottage and it’s possible to unload outside too. I cant big this place up enough. Fantastic in all aspects but the wood burner made it extra special.

    Helen2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Nook is a wonderful, cosy place and we really enjoyed our weekend here! The people of Settle are incredibly friendly and we felt very comfortable. Settle is good for eating and drinking out if you want to (we really recommend the Old Naked Man Cafe for breakfast), but the cottage was also perfectly equipped for staying in. Will definitely be back!

Very comprehensive information is provided by Tim and Helen before you arrive and any queries are dealt with promptly. We had a very enjoyable weekend doing very little except relax.

Everything you need for self catering and a good wifi signal too! The surrounding scenery is stunning and Settle is superb for great pubs & quirky shops. We particularly enjoyed the food at the golden lion and the hospitality and ales at the Talbot. Being just a 20 min walk into the village was ideal! We will highly recommend to our friends!

  • Had a lovely weekend in such a cosy cottage! We came to the Dales for hiking but storm Dennis changed our plans, and we ended up having an afternoon in front of the fire (bring plenty of logs!). Tim and Helen were very accommodating and responsive, and had lots of local info to share. Ideal spot for exploring, especially when the sun comes out :)

The little electric fire made the barn so cosy at night time when cuddling up on the sofa. The location is right in town with local bars and shops just a few minutes walk away. Would highly recommend, owners gave local tips about where to eat amongst other things. Great communication. Hope to visit again x

  • A lovely place to stay in Yorkshire.

    Joel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about The Barn that hasn’t been said already? It has been by far the most perfect Air Bnb experience we have ever had. Warm and comfortable with all the amenities you need. Jill is a wonderful host - always at hand when we had a question. The Barn is in a great location, just a 15 min drive into Settle (where there are plenty of pubs and shops - we also picked up a lovely Indian one night) and more importantly close to outstanding views and walks in the North Yorkshire countryside. We just loved every minute. Can’t wait to book again. Thank you!

    Bethany2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, warm and very well kitted out. Good location for walking in the dales and meeting old friends.

    Peter2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jill and John have made considerable effort to create a comfortable and stylish barn conversion. We immediately felt at home and a bit spoilt! A nice surprise was to look out in the evenings and see lots of stars in this dark sky location. Within a short drive are great places to see in both the Forest of Bowland AONB and the Yorkshire Dales national park. We also appreciated the stream that runs through the garden. As a couple, we had everything we needed for a relaxing couple of days.

    John2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely, cosy place to stay. We felt at home immediately and would love to visit again at some point. The barn is very clean and full of lovely extra touches.

  • We had a lovely stay here with our two kids. The hosts were great: a light was out, they fixed it the next day; we left an item behind, they kindly posted it out to us. It was clean, well equipped and lots to keep us entertained inside if the weather was bad (which thankfully it wasn’t). We made equally good use of the board games and local walks guide. We went to Malham Cove and up to the Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes, both of which I would recommend. Beautiful part of the world, lovely little cottage. What’s not to like?

    Helen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

The cottage was super clean, the bed was comfy, there's a dvd player and Scrabble which kept us entertained. Located on School Lane close to the centre of Settle, this Grade II listed cottage has been tastefully restored to provide a superb base to tour The Yorkshire Dales National Park. The open living room & dining kitchen is well equipped, with a double bedroom & shower wc all on one level & full height rooms. Central heating throughout the cottage. There is a loft area upstairs for storage of luggage & cycles.
There is free on street parking opposite the cottage. One of the town car parks is 150m away & costs under £15.00 per week.
  • Nice cosy cottage walking distance from several pubs and a co-op. The hosts were very obliging accommodating us at short notice when our previous airbnb cancelled our reservation at the last minute. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bed was comfy.

  • A lovely little cottage in a great spot from friendly people, what's not to like :) Parking was a little walk (it had been accurately described) but I turned out to be easy, I would say in the height of the season it might be a little more problematic but we found it a breeze and no issue at all. I would recommend this cottage and location.

  • Had a delightful time in Louise Cottage. Location is perfect - very close to the centre of town. Cottage was warm, cosy, spotlessly clean with those extra touches that make for a really pleasant stay like fresh flowers, hot water bottles, blankets, milk in the fridge, tea and cooking essentials. Check in was very easy, and hots provided lots of genuinely helpful local tips! :)

  • We had a fantastic time at this beautiful and quaint cottage (with the added benefit of the pool house and hot tub). Couldn't fault the place at all, it exceeded our expectations. My five-year-old niece loved the pool, and we had a job of getting her to get out when it was time for bed! The house has fantastic amenities, and the added special treats from the host were well received and appreciated (wine for the adults and treats for the children). The cottage does feel like it is in the middle of nowhere, but this was ideal for our family weekend away. The two neighbouring cottages were friendly too. The cottage is ideally placed for going on long or short walks in the surrounding countryside. Plenty of farm animals to be seen! We took our own provisions, as the nearest shop is roughly a 20-minute drive away, but the cottage does have some existing provisions (tea, coffee, sugar etc). The towels and robes were greatly appreciated too. The house is well decorated, with some quirky accents (teapots) and really add to the farmhouse/cottage vibes. There are plenty of board games and quizzes to keep you busy on wet days, as well as the games room at the back of the property. The toy/ play area is also brilliant for children, again my five-year old-niece loved it. We would definitely stay again given the chance. Well worth the money!

  • We stayed at David's place for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday with family. The place is fantastic, facilities are on point, would highly recommend. David is ane excellent host, rapid replies, gives you all the information you need way in advance. Highly recommended!

  • Great house with loads to do and the pub down the road served brilliant food

    Thomas2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful family break at David’s cottage. Despite the horrendous weather, we had a fantastic time as there was so much to do. There are lots of beautiful walks accessible from outside of the front door and great amenities to enjoy at the cottage when we got back or if we just wanted to relax. We have a 10 year old who really enjoyed the pool and we all made very good use of the hot tub. There were lots of games, books and DVDs provided (which we didn’t actually need as the tv didn’t go on once). You really couldn’t ask for more to do here. Any issues we had (mainly due to the weather) were sorted out extremely quickly and David replied to messages within minutes. The only problem was that we wish we had longer! We will definitely be back!

    Eleanor2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing stay. The pool was amazing.

    Carol2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was just as described and was all we hoped for and more. There was 5 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10 we all had an amazing time making great use of the pool and hot tub. The cottage was very spacious and had a lovely home from home feel with log fire and farm house kitchen. The children were kept occupied with all the toys and games, while the adults appreciated the complimentary wine and biscuits. Being being to walk to the local pub for a delicious sunday lunch was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

    Melissa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage and fab pool house.., I will definitely be staying there again!

    Tammy2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely couple of days away here. Cottage is very homely and a rustic contrast to the very modern pool house but both are very comfortable. Pool and hot tub were perfect and a family favourite across the board. Plenty of small thoughtful extras, such as a bottle of wine and some sugar as they’d noticed the house was low. David was always quick to respond to any queries and overall we were very happy with the property.

The garden flat is the converted out-buildings in the walled kitchen garden of a large edwardian villa. Plenty of charm, log burner, range, roll top bath, stunning views but only a few minutes walk from Settle. The great outdoors is just outside.... The flat has a large double bedroom with ensuite and a sofa bed for kids or guests.
In the flat there's a large living space with stone fireplace, range, wooden beams and views over the valley and garden. There's one large bedroom with king-size bed, bathroom and a double day bed in the main area if you'd like to sleep separately.. Gated yard, ponds, sitting areas, a lovely garden to spend time in.
Giggleswick is only a 5 minute walk, there's a couple of pubs with real ale and food. Settle is 20 minutes over the river and has several pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants. At the end of the garden the national park stretches for miles, so there's great walking.
  • Charming place in a fab location- definately reccomend!

  • We had an amazing stay at David's flat, so homely and cosy. Loved enjoying a Christmas bailey's in front of the log burner. Had a great afternoons walk straight from the garden up to Feizor stopping at the cafe there and then back past the waterfall at Little Stainforth and along the river. A relaxing soak in the lovely roll top bath was much needed and under floor heating in the bathroom much appreciated! We didn't want to come home...thanks for having us :)

    Terri2019-12-23T00:00:00Z

  • Quaint little cottage right by the train station. Although there isn’t great deal to do in Settle, it was a fab place for two friends to meet up, talk , eat and drink in comfortable environment.

The location is perfect, right in the town centre, with easy access to lots of great places to eat and drink and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales on the doorstep.

No. 1 Bowskills Yard is full of character and situated in a quiet and picturesque corner of upper Settle at the top of the aptly named Constitution Hill. It is both two minutes walk away from stunning open countryside and all the amenities of the market square. There is a pretty little suntrap garden, perfect for breakfast, a glass of wine at sundown and lit by fairy lights at night. The 300 year old cottage is comfortably furnished but also practical for those enjoying outdoor pursuits.
The cottage is situated on a hill and the road is narrow. The staircase is steep and therefore the cottage is unfortunately not suitable for the differently abled. Parking is difficult and there is no dedicated parking. There are, however, reasonably priced car parks close by and the cottage is within walking distance of the railway station. Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome (depending on size!) We provide luxury bedlinen and towels and all that you might need for the first couple of nights of your stay (a pint of milk, teabags, loo rolls etc). The Co-Op is at the bottom of the hill and is open from 7am to 10 pm every day. The well-equipped kitchen has a washing machine and dishwasher, iron and ironing board. The cottage has fast broadband, a decent sized smart TV and a DVD player. The stone floors downstairs are practical for those enjoying the fabulous walking nearby. There are plenty of coatpegs. Upstairs the cosy bedroom has a comfy double bed with views over the ancient rooftops and countryside beyond. A hairdryer is provided. The bathroom has a large bath with shower over and is sparkling clean and fresh. We guarantee you will relax!
Settle has three pubs and some decent eateries. There are plenty of good coffee/tea shops. Settle Victoria Hall has a wide variety of events, including live music and the National Theatre Live Screening. There are two supermarkets (Booths and the Co-Op) and a few individual shops. The Settle to Carlisle railway is the most picturesque railway journey in the UK and steam trains pass through regularly. Surrounded by rugged hills, Settle has an air of tranquillity that is a welcome antidote to the stresses of modern life.
  • A superbly cosy and stylish retreat in a fantastic location. Spotlessly clean and excellent hosts. A really lovely spot!

    Andrea2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning cottage perfectly located to walk into the dales or down into the town. Kitchen is full equipped and the interior is well decorated. Perfect place for a cosy weekend accompanied by walks and hikes through the dales.

  • Lovely stay in a lovely location. The perfect springboard to lots of great walks and other little points of interest along the Settle-Carlisle railway.

    Tim2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage, with an excellent location right on the edge of the dales! There were lots of lovely little touches that made the stay perfect!

    George2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage in a very ideal location within 5 mins walk of all Settle's amenities, and very close to local walks to Malham and other places in the Dales.

    Martin2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is the cutest and cosiest place we’ve ever been. It felt just like a home away from home. Before we arrived we received a message from Martin and Judith outlining what we could do when we arrived, what was where, recommendations of things to do, places to see and places to eat which was really lovely. Martin and Judith met us as we arrived, they showed us where to park the car and helped us unload. When we got in to the cottage, they had left biscuits, milk and coffee/ teabags so we could have a brew. The heating was also on which was a bonus because it was cold and there were snowy conditions when we arrived. The location was perfect for us, we enjoy walking/ running so it was close enough to everything we wanted to explore around the dales, we would 100% go back. If you’re looking for a nice weekend break or midweek break this is the place to go.

    Lucy2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a lovely time at the cottage - felt very at home right away and we were sad to leave. Thanks Martin and Judith

  • Perfectly located in the heart of Settle town centre, ideal for exploring Malham, Skipton, Ingleton and many more locations. The apartment is beautiful, really comfortable and luxuriously finished. I have high standards and this ticked all the boxes. I planned this trip with a view to proposing to my girlfriend and it was perfect for this occasion. The best Airbnb I have stayed in.

  • Superb location right in the centre of Settle, 5 minutes walk from the station & Booths (main supermarket). Tourist Info centre right underneath, first rate coffee shops, pubs & outdoor shop just seconds away. Spotlessly clean & stylishly decorated. But not suitable for anyone unable to cope with stairs.

  • Stylish uncluttered warm apartment in the centre of Settle close to all amenities and facilities. Everything you need for a few days in the Yorkshire Dales. Very clean and spacious. Tourist office is 2 minutes away and extremely helpful.

    Tricia2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish apartment with a fantastic location in the heart of Settle. A place for muddy boots would be useful in this super clean Airbnb but otherwise, all amenities were excellent. Be careful of the sharp edged cooker hood if you’re tall however! Otherwise would consider booking again if in the area.

Located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales right on the Pennine way. The ground floor apartment overlooks the River Aire and has amazing views across the river and beyond. There are excellent walk/cycle routes right on the door step. Malham is a 2.5 mile walk along the river. Both guest bedrooms are clean and comfortable. 1 has an ensuite shower room and there is a family bathroom with shower. Both the kitchen and bathrooms are new (June 2017).
Welcome to our comfortable, ground floor apartment in the Grade II listed former Airton mill. Airton is a small village in the Yorkshire Dales 9 miles NW of Skipton (The Gateway to the Dales). The apartment has just finished a major conversion (June 2017) which includes a new kitchen, ensuite shower room and family bathroom and new heating throughout. The mill has communal gardens, a BBQ area and access to 'Frank's Land' which is a pretty wildflower meadow alongside the river. The location is gorgeous and is definitely the best place to be on a sunny day. In summer the river is ideal for young children to play in (supervised of course) and it even has its own 'beach' on the other side of it. It's also ideal for the less energetic to relax and watch all the wildlife on the river and in the field opposite. For the more energetic there are numerous breathtaking walks and bike rides right from the door step. The Pennine Way actually crosses along the other side of the river. Some of the Dales most popular sites like Malham Cove, Malham Tarn, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar are all within walking distance (3 miles). The nearest shop is the excellent farm shop and tea room which is a 5/10 minute walk. There is a good pub 2 miles away in Kirby Malham.
  • What a lovely place to stay. The river running by the front door was crystal clear and babbling. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped for our stay. A lovely surprise to find a Christmas bottle of Prosecco and biscuit box to greet us. We'll definitely try and book again when we next come to visit our Yorkshire based relatives.

  • A spacious, sparkling clean apartment in a great location! Sarah is a great host and she had thought of lots of extras to leave that are really handy! There was also a really good collection of games and toys for rainy days. The bathrooms and kitchen were modern and in good working order and there was plenty of space throughout the apartment. Thank you for a lovely holiday! 😊

  • Beautiful location, so many great walks and sights within a reasonable distance. Sarah is a great host too.

    Charles2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, with very thoughtful touches. A lot of toys for children (though that was reducing space for own clothes in the one bedroom). However the flat it spacious and offers a great base for exploring parts of the Yorkshire Dales. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I can highly recommend it. Sarah was very helpful when we realised that we’ve left something behind and acted as communicator between us and the new guests. Thank you so much.

Sunnybeck cottage is a well established holiday home with 5 awards under its belt. The cottage is perfect for families, (small children welcome) teenagers also) great WIFI connection. couples, and friends get togethers. The cottage is close to great pubs, 2 in the village and Settle is a short walk away with a great Booths supermarket (Northern Waitrose). We have off street parking for 1 vehicle and additional parking upon request. Doggies are also welcome! Additional fees apply.
Sunnybeck is an award winning cottage with fabulous reviews. We add all the little touches that make your stay extra special! We offer a welcome hamper on arrival, all the kitchen essentials, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, detergent etc... toilet rolls, and even our own hand poured scented candles if required. We definately go the extra mile as that is what we would expect when we book a holiday home, hence our guests return year after year and 2019 was our best year as 90% of our visitors were repeat guests! Why not try for yourself?
  • We really enjoyed our few days at Sunnybeck Cottage. We loved the fact that it was so dog friendly, with the Dales and very scenic walks right on your doorstep. The cottage itself was gorgeous - a mix of cosy and traditional with a nice big modern kitchen. Carol and her husband were very friendly and only a text/call away if we needed them. Giggleswick is a stunning village which was perfect for a relaxing few days away. Settle is only a few minutes drive down the road which has a larger range of amenities if you need anything. We would definitely stay again.

    Paul2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed house in centre of pretty village. Comfy beds and 2 great showers as well as a downstairs loo. Beautiful cottage garden. Generous welcome pack on arrival.

    Felicity2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a wonderful location with a little stream and lovely field just outside the back gate. My dog loved having a paddle and running around in a safe area. You can easily walk 5 minutes to a lovely local pub (Harts Head) and another 20 minutes takes you to various pubs in Settle. We particularly liked the Golden Lion. I would recommend going to Malham and walking the mile to Janet's Foss. Again a great area for dogs but you too can have a swim at the waterfall. Town End Farm shop is also worth a visit for lunch or coffee/cake, it has a nice outside area.

    Christina2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and lovely under floor heating all made for an extremely relaxing stay. Carol made us feel very welcome on arrival, and after some brief instructions on how a few things worked, left us to enjoy the cottage and surrounding area. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, with loads of amenities close by. Carol sent through a very useful list of pubs, cafes etc before we arrived. We did plenty of walking, with a few dog friendly pubs thrown in. Highly recommend and would love to return in the summer. Thanks Carol.

    Dave2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sunnybeck Cottage is a hidden jem in the picturesque village of Giggleswick. Beautiful cottage, with absolutely everything you need and also a few extra touches and surprises which made our stay special. Thank you Carol, you are an exceptional host and would highly recommend.

  • I would highly recommend this warm and cosy cottage. Heated floors and a fireplace for when you get in after a day of being exposed to the elements. Everything is as described and Carol herself is very swift to respond to any questions you might have for her.

    Andy2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's cottage in Giggleswick is amazingly well put together. There is everything you would need in terms of equipment and facilities in the house and its generously equipped. Cozy in the winter, I would imagine it's cool and airy in the summer with outside seating too. The house itself is really tastefully put together, so on those days when you really don't fancy trekking out, you can just curl up in front of the fire with a book or a film and relax. We were up there in the snow and after two days of hiking up the hills, we enjoyed a day off. the location provides easy access to the three peaks and to some areas of outstanding natural beauty. With Settle, a working town on the doorstep, it's got a lot to offer. Everyone we met in the locality was friendly and helpful. The dog had a great time too, with a lovely place to stretch his legs in the morning and last thing at night just outside the back gate. Carol is a very responsive, caring and thoughtful host. We are looking forward to the opportunity to go back.

  • Great location for our short stay. The loft is cozy and has everything you might need. The road up to accommodation is quite narrow and winding but don’t be put off as it’s the last property on the road you don’t really meet any other traffic. Beautiful views and peaceful just the cows and sheep to serenade you.

    Graeme2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was lovely. Peter was quick to respond to any questions we had. The road outside is quite steep and narrow so it makes it a bit of a rush to unpack the car so as to not to block the cars coming up the hill but by no means should put anyone off. The home was warm, lovely and clean. The Talbot Arms serve lovely food as does the Royal Oak. My only niggle was catching my legs on the beds as it was a bit tight but I had read that in another post so was expecting it. We will definitely be booking again for longer this time. Thank you Peter x

    Joanne2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cottage, small but perfectly formed, we couldn't get over how well thought out the compact layout was and with two ensuite rooms, a dishwasher and washer/dryer it had all mod cons you'd need for a short or long stay! The car park was only a short stroll away and we would definitely come back!

    Ellie2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice pleasant stay , excellent walks from the doorstep. 2 roomy bathrooms , well worth the slight, only very slight inconvenience of edging past the bed to the bathroom(s) I would stay again for sure, we recommend

  • What a wonderful little cottage to use as a base to explore North Yorkshire! It was perfect for the 3 of us. Denise’s quick responses to all queries was appreciated. The goodies left for us were greatly appreciated. Comfy beds and linens made for terrific sleep. The location to the train station made travel easy Denise’s kind hospitality made our stay a happy one.

    Mary2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Can only repeat what everyone else has said! Cottage was super-clean, great welcome pack provided, Denise's communication was excellent. We didn't make use of use the garage, as parked on the street right outside on arrival and didn't need the car again. Got caught in Storm Dennis but the cottage was snug, warm and quiet all weekend. Managed to get in a bit of walking anyway, but had the perfect excuse to spend Sunday afternoon in the pub. (If you're a fan of cheese pie, you might want to try The Talbot!)

    Gillian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A sweet cosy cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Denise is a wonderful host and her thoughtful touches and welcome basket made it even more special. Excellent location, close to everything. The fireplace was an added bonus. Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

  • What a wonderful, cosy cottage. We felt that at home we didn't want to leave. Denise kept in contact and everything was so easy, cottage was spotless and beautiful with little extras like wine, flowers, bread, butter and lots of other thoughtful things. The location is great as in the center of settle with the river at the top of the road and close to all the pubs and Victoria music hall. Supermarket also few mintues walk. Can't say enough how lovely this place is and we will be returning.

    Claire2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

  • Both my friend I decided to meet up in Yorkshire for our first motorbike trip of the year and wanted somewhere close to the Dales and wonderful bike roads. The property is situated in the delightful little village of Giggleswick, within easy walking distance of Settle and its lovely bars and restaurants. We chose Anna place due it's proximity to Settle and its off road parking for our valued bikes. Anna greeted us as she is less then two minutes away and was delightful. She gave us a run down of the local eateries, the best local roads and places to see. The cottage is beautifully clean and very spacious, just what we needed. For those bikers among us or non drivers, there is a local pub/restaurant just 5 doors away. Great food and lovely beer. Would definetly recommend Anna place and the local amenities.

The only downside was no microwave in the kitchen, which I didn't realise when booking (we sterilise our baby's bottles in the microwave, but just did it the old fashioned way instead!). Farm shop 5 mins walk, pub 2 miles. About the location AIRTON Gargrave 4 miles; Malham 4 miles; Skipton 8 miles. The picturesque Dales village of Airton is situated in beautiful Malhamdale amidst superb open limestone countryside. The village was known as Airtone in the Domesday Book, and was originally a Quaker village. There is still a Quaker meeting house, along with a squatter's cottage on the village green and an old mill on the River Aire. Airton boasts a popular farm shop and tea room at Town End Farm, which is renowned for selling excellent local produce. Airton is a great starting point for walkers, with a route along the Pennine Way into Malhamdale, or you may wish to walk from Gargrave to Malham, via Kirkby Malham, where you will find an historic parish church and village inn. More energetic walkers should explore Calton over Calton Moor to Weets Top and Gordale, or eastwards towards Hetton. Nearby Malham is a magnet for visitors to the Dales who come to see Malham Cove, one of Britain's most impressive natural features. The Cove consists of a natural cavern or 'amphitheatre' of limestone rock stretching 75 metres in height and 300 metres around the perimeter. A steep walk up man-made steps is rewarded with a superb view across moors and limestone pavements to Malham Tarn - the Pennines' highest lake. Airton is a wonderful central location with Skipton, Settle and Grassington all within easy reach of this Yorkshire Dales village. “The flat is very clean, well equipped, and comfortable for our family of five. The location is ideal for walking the Pennine Way. The flat has an excellent view of the river Aire. We were pleasantly surprised and think the star rating should be more. Excellent overall.” Mrs Coxon, Market Harborough, August 2014 “The property was in an ideal position and so quiet and peaceful. We had a wonderful 5 nights there and would certainly go back there again.” Mrs Smith, Newtownards, July 2014
Airton is on the Pennine Way and the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway. There is a farm shop and cafe about five minutes walk away, they sell basic provisions, (milk, bread etc.) and more importantly wine, beer, and cake. The popular cafe opens in time for a late breakfast, until about 5pm. (Closed most Mondays.) Malham is a couple of miles up the river, and is very popular with walkers and day-trippers. Attractions include Malham Cove, Janet's Foss (waterfall in the woods), and Gordale Scar, a spectacular gorge. Above the village is Malham Tarn, a lake surrounded by National Trust reserves. Malham has a choice of shops, pubs and cafes. The closest pub to Airton is The Victoria, in Kirkby Malham, half way to Malham. About 10 minutes in the car over the tops is the small market town of Settle, at the start of the picturesque Settle-Carlisle steam railway. Skipton is 20 minutes away, and has a great High Street for shopping. There's a choice of supermarkets and petrol stations, also Skipton Castle, the steam railway, and canal cruises.
  • Joe’s cottage is a wonderful place to stay & experience the beauty of Malhamdale & the Yorkshire Dales. It is perfect for a family of 5, exceptionally clean & well equipped, comfy beds & relaxing living room. We stayed during storm Dennis, still managed to do 2 days of walking, through rain, snow & sun, from Airton to Malham to Janet’s Foss, and day 2 we climbed Malham cove & across to Gordale Scar. The cottage was a very cosy return & had a good airing cupboard & clothes horse to dry off our walking gear. The view from the kitchen windows out on to the river is beautiful. It was so peaceful, we stayed for 3 nights but wish we could have had longer.

  • Apartment is very well suited and the kitchen is well equipped. New bathroom is lovely. There is a great farm shop and cafe nearby. Wonderful walks close by too.

  • Beautiful views and great location so close to fabulous walks, pubs and restaurants. Try Beck Hall for something more up market, where dogs are welcome. Unheard of in Australia and we loved that as much as the food and service. Joe provides for a trouble free and well provisioned stay, I highly recommend staying here and hope to be back one day!

  • This was our third stay at Joe's place as a family of four, which probably tells you all you need to know! This trip we did our usual favourite visits/walks (please see my previous reviews). Tried a couple of new things too which we'd already recommend - visit to Bolton Abbey and nice riverside walk in the grounds (kids liked the stepping stones across the river although it was a little tougher than I'd expected given the amount of recent rainfall and the height of the river!) and a circular walk from Settle via Victoria's Cave. Hoping we'll be back again!

  • Our second stay in the house in Airton. And we will be back again another time.

  • We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is really beautifully decorated and feels welcoming and homely. The beds are so comfortable and the cottage was spotlessly clean. Suzanne could not have been more helpful. The location of the cottage is perfect for The Three Peaks Walk and you are literally a stone’s throw from the pub. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return!

  • An absolutely beautiful home, spotlessly clean with the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! We didn’t want to leave. It’s hands down one of the nicest cottages we’ve ever booked. Highly recommended and we will be back in the summer.

  • Suzanne's cottage is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Even though we stayed there on a cold February weekend, we found the cottage to be in a wonderful location and had plenty of things to do. Check in and parking was incredibly easy and the cottage had everything we needed. A perfect place to relax!
