Quiet and cozy cottage to get us out of a crazy and sometimes stressful city environment. Suzanne was extremely helpful and accommodating during our stay as she waited for our arrival, and thoroughly explained anything that would make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be looking into booking again very soon to explore the rest of the Catskills! If you're looking for a warm and cozy cottage providing the perfect environment to relax and take in a toasty fire this is the best place to be.

Suzys place was beautiful, welcoming, and had everything we were looking for in a weekend getaway from NYC! She was extremely accommodating in allowing us to extend our stay another day, always ready to offer recommendations, and very accessible the entire time we were there. The two fireplaces (wood and electric) were functional and added the warmth and charm we were looking for from our visit and the kitchen was well stocked enough with cookery for us to make all of our meals there for 4 nights. Fantastic experience all around!

Kerry was an amazing host and provided a very cozy, clean and comfortable space in this adorable cottage. It was the perfect home away from home with a combination of privacy and close proximity to the town and the beautiful Tanbark Trail. The cottage had so many great amenities, including utensils and pots/pans for cooking, heated bathroom floors, a TV with Roku, and of course, the hot tub. Kerry was also super easy to communicate with and shared with us all of the info we needed to know about the cottage and Phoenicia. It was a relaxing and romantic getaway for two, and we would definitely go back!

We had an incredible time!! The cottage was perfect. Such a relaxing place coming from the city. It's super clean and cozy. Very spacious and great lighting. We couldn't get enough of the hot tub! It was drizzly most of the days we were there but the fog was beautiful and the rain felt good while in the hot tub. The last day was sunny and dry so we were able to build a fire in the fire pit. Honestly we would stay longer if we could! Phoenicia is a great little town. Perfect Xmas getaway. We will be back!! Thanks for offering your lovely home Kerry.

The cottage was perfect, everything as advertised! Nothing more you could ask for when looking for a quiet relaxing getaway. The private hot tub is clutch after a day on the mountain (Hunter is only 20 minutes away). Host was attentive when we had questions, usually getting back to us in minutes. All in all great experience, definitely recommend and I myself will be back here again.

Kerry was a fantastically easy going host and gave us everything we needed. He also calmly saved us when we were in a pickle and lost our key in the mountains on an 11 mile hike! The cottage was exactly as advertised and was simple, cozy, quiet, and in the heart of Phoenicia. My husband and I were in love with the hot tub, which was incredible even when it was pouring rain. It was also wonderful that we could watch Netflix streaming in our cottage, since it rained so much this weekend. The town of Phoenicia is just as lovely as ever, and each time I go there I adore it more.

What a wonderful place! The perfect house for a get-away from city life, thoughtfully designed and peaceful. A hammock in the backyard, a hot tub, a comfy bed, soft couches, skylights, and QUIET. I came without a car, so it was super convenient that the Trailways bus drops off a block from the house. The house is just at the end of Phoenicia's Main Street, so everything you might need is walking distance. Kerry was extremely responsive, even recommending a jogging path upon request. Highly recommended! (Note that the house has only a mini fridge, microwave, and electric tea kettle, so you won't be able to do actual cooking. Also, the local supermarket doesn't have much in the way of fresh produce, so you'll have to go to nearby Woodstock if you want your fix of fresh fruits/veggies to snack on.)

Great cottage and beautiful interior! Location was close to everything we visited woodstock, hiked overlook mountain trail, and enjoyed some great ice cream in the neighborhood. Hot tub was a great way to unwind and the cottage had everything we needed. I would definitely reccomend and even stay there again!

Phoenicia is a cute, fun town, and everything is within short walking distance from the house, so it's perfect for a weekend getaway from NYC even without a car. The cottage was fantastic and Kerry was an excellent host, friendly and welcoming. He was quick to respond to any questions and concerns. The pilot light on the bathroom water heater went out and Kerry came by and re-lit it quickly. I have T-Mobile and had no service while I was in Phoenicia, but if you have Verizon, Kerry said there's a signal booster in the front house. Wifi was great. There's a Roku player that streamed media without a problem. And the hot tub and backyard were great, so relaxing. Thanks, Kerry, we had a great time!

We had a wonderful stay at Zen Cottage. We couldn't have asked for better. Although the pictures are great, the cottage is much lovelier in person! So cute! Very romantic. Nicely appointed. We immediately felt at home. James and Alma were so sweet! They welcomed us and also sent us off with a very lovely, fireside, guitar serenade. Lastly, this a a great location within the Catskills, very central to a lot of places. We will definitely come back.

I loved stay at James and Alma's Zen Cottage. The cottage is gorgeous and the perfect amount of space needed for a long weekend getaway. It's well designed, modern and full of light. The gardens are very well tended and guests are encouraged to eat the vegetables and herbs. One of my favorite perks from staying here is its proximity to the watering hole a short distance away. My puppy Oscar and I enjoyed walking down to the water and cooling off with a swim. The people I met there were very friendly and it was fun watching the tubers go by. I highly recommend the Zen Cottage and look forward to visiting again!

We felt at Alma and James very well. The house is cozy and everything you need is available. It was nice that we already vorfanden tea, coffee, honey, milk and oils and spices. Alma gave us valuable tips for hiking and exploring the area.

The house was so great - super cozy and homey. I was worried that we'd be freezing in December but Megan was right about the house being very well insulated. We weren't cold inside at all. Megan was great at communicating and answering questions in a timely manner. Her home is very close to town, just a short drive. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife, 14 year-old daughter, and I traveled to the Catskill Mountains in NY in late June. We were lucky enough to discover Megan's home on Airbnb. It was located on a quiet street and the Esopus River can be heard in the distance when the windows are open. It was very clean and has all the conveniences of a nice hotel. Shops and eateries are a short drive from the home. We would stay there again if ever in the area.

The cabin is exactly described-perfectly sized for two people, surrounded by trees and nature, sufficiently well distanced from the neighbours and extremely well kitted out. We really enjoyed our stay after a week cycling through the Catskills and would have liked to have stayed longer. We really enjoyed the fire pit, hammock and watching the wildlife-woodpeckers and deer! We had a small plumbing issue which was fixed very promptly. A real treat.

Absolutely wonderful stay at this incredibly peaceful cabin in the woods. Every detail has been considered, the decor is beautiful, and it was so much fun to cook outside and lie in the hammock. I couldn't have asked for a better relaxation getaway, and am so grateful to Wendy and Brent for their creativity and hospitality. For those without a car, I took the bus to Woodstock from NYC and then a cab ($22) to the cabin. Phoenicia is slightly closer, but I don't think there are cabs there.

The "Hickory Hut" was even more beautiful than we imagined and our overall stay was just perfect. Wendy and Brent were warm and welcoming, striking the perfect balance of giving us our privacy and space, and being perfectly accommodating and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed and it was clear that Wendy put great thought into making sure her "guests" have a comfortable stay. The location is ideal, with short drives to Phoenicia and Woodstock, and easy access to numerous trailheads and attractions in the area (including the very helpful Catskills Interpretive Center). My boyfriend and I came up to the Catskills for a long weekend getaway and the Hickory Hut was absolutely perfect! Wendy and Brent were wonderful hosts and have some great recommendations for things to do in town. The room itself was spotless, private, and had everything we needed. We loved taking outdoor showers in the morning and cooking over the fire in the evenings. We were also in the perfect location. Only a 15 minutes to Woodstock and 30 minutes to Slide Mountain and other great hiking. We are already thinking about our next stay!

We had such an amazing time at Wendy and Brent's cabin and cannot wait to come back! Everything about the cabin is so breathtaking. From the moment we got there, Brent greeted us and showed us the cabin and surroundings. He also gave us great directions of places to go and see. The cabin itself has all necessities needed for a getaway weekend and was so comfortable for 2 people. It was amazing being able to sleep with the windows open and to wake up to the sound of chirping birds. We loved using the fire pit and outside cooking area to cook dinner and breakfast each day. The cabin and outdoor area is so peaceful and really gives you a full appreciation of nature. It was just what we needed to escape the crazy city life. They also shared recommendations about places to visit, hiking trails, restaurants and cafes, and scenic waterfalls in Phoenicia. The cottage itself was one of the most relaxing and peaceful places I have ever been in, with gorgeous artwork and woodwork from around the world and from Dara and Dave's travels. The house also has a fire pit in the back and we spent a great evening sitting around the fire and looking at the stars. This is truly a unique and magical place, and we would definitely DEFINITELY recommend it, whether you're coming for a weekend or longer!! :)

Dara and Dave are exceptional people, who share many things with the world - not least of which is this beautiful cottage. Wild turkeys, chipmunks, bears, surprisingly good pizza (in nearby Phoenicia), and more stars over a campfire than I've ever seen were just a few hallmarks of this peaceful retreat; in a cozy structure built by Dave and decorated by Dara with unique taste for global treasures. As hosts, they are kind, thoughtful, insightful, approachable and attentive. We left planning our return - highly recommended.

We were looking for a little rustic cabin in the woods and Andrew's place delivered. It's very basic, but cozy and a great spot if you are looking to spend some time closer to nature. The wifi was excellent, having a fire pit was great too. The area was very peaceful, but close to a fairly busy road and easily accessible. There are few other cabins in the area, so it doesn't feel too lonely. Two of the cabins are slightly more spruced up, with a full kitchen and several bedrooms. Ours had a mini-fridge and a coffee maker.

Amazing 5 days of peace and solitude at cabin George. Andrew and Angelo (groundsman) were both extremely welcoming and helpful. Highly reccommend. This won't be my last stay!

This is an ideal place to start your Catskills weekend. You've got the basics that make things *not* like camping in a tent, but not needlessly expensive or excessive like a hotel room or highly curated cabin. If you aren't sure about a weekend in a tent, camping, or boutique resort, but still want a rustic value, Georgie is the place. Hosts are very communicative and helpful with an amazing list of suggestions for what to do in the area.

Checking in was very easy and the cabin was perfect. The groundskeeper Angelo and Andrew's brother, Nathan, were both delightful and made me feel very welcome. The property is peaceful and a great place to explore. Highly recommended.

My wife and stayed three nights at cabin Georgie. We had a wonderful week-end. The cabin is very confortable and posted photos are accurate. The piece of land is beautiful and we enjoyed the view of the mountain from the cabin deck every morning during our breakfast. The attractions of the area were as we expected, we swimmmed in the local swimming hole, hicked the fox hollow and went to Woodstock. Also used the fire pit for our barbeques. This is definetelly a really nice place to recommend for a week-end getaway from the city

The Cabin was very cozy. There's a full size bed and a twin cot available. The space heaters were wonderful for the chilly October nights. BBQ grill with the spatula and fork was a nice touch. There is no kitchen though anything else that would assist in cooking. Overall, a great place to escape the city.

If you're looking for a tranquil escape that has hiking, tubing and tasty brunch nearby- this is the perfect spot! Andrew was quick to respond by chat, and this rustic little cabin was just how he described. We will definitely be back! Bonus: dog friendly :)

The listing description was very accurate, there were no unwelcome surprises, only a few pleasant ones. I was in very close contact with the owners, Christa and her husband Wayne. They both were attentive hosts, careful to provide me with clear directions to the property and provide me with all sorts of helpful information about the area. I was greeted upon my arrival and oriented to the cottage and surroundings. I felt that the hosts were very much there with information and assistance should I have ever needed any.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Christa and Wayne's cabin for 5 nights and it was great! The cabin is spacious for two people, well maintained, and has a super comfy bed. This is a place to get some good rest! Christa and Wayne were welcoming and even helped us city slickers get the grill going. The location near Phoenicia is great for exploring the wider Catskills and also just for grabbing a good meal nearby. I was very pleased with our experience!

Many visitors before us have described how marvellous this little cottage in the Catskills is and there is seriously not much to add. This beautiful piece of land with hummingbirds, chipmunks, woodpeckers and many other birds was our home for three nights and we really enjoyed our stay. Christa gave us a warm welcome, helped us a lot, gave us good tips for the surrounding area and we could have spent many more days there. Highly recommended!

We cannot stop gushing over what a lovely place Christa and Wayne have created. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and Christa shared tons of info about the area and things to do, places to eat, etc... It rained our whole weekend basically so instead of hiking & tubing we went on antique excursions -- it was a blast! There is so much to do up in the catskills regardless of weather. We would strongly suggest staying here to anyone who asked and will be recommending it to our friends who want to head up to Phoenicia.

Amazing location and super nice hosts! Their pretty cabin is right in the woods among towering pines. There was a calming stream view from the bedroom windows during my post-rain stay. Christa and Wayne greeted me so pleasantly with the cabin all warm and the stove-fire ablaze. They are so helpful and organized. They have info available to browse and they respond to questions so quickly and helpfully. I mentioned my love of views and they directed me to the perfect hike right in town! There were lots of streams running down the mountainsides during my stay. The Zen Meditation center is close by too. The town has a great selection of restaurants and such friendly people. Mama's Boy cafe has excellent dishes like eggplant parmesan and great desserts. Blueberry pie, cinnamon buns and the "almond joy cookie" were delicious! Easygoing: perfect blend of friendliness and relaxed independence. I can't wait to return with friends. By the way, Christa and Wayne were Sooo! great with my reservation. My plans hinged on a friend who couldn't join me at the last minute due to a sudden family obligation. So I ended up submitting my booking at the last minute. They responded immediately. Thanks for being so understanding!

Christa and Wayne's cottage was a perfect weekend retreat for us. The space is cozy, private, and perfectly set up for a couple. Christa and Wayne were excellent hosts. They were extra available if we needed anything (pretty impressive without cell service, but they did it!) and helped us get in quickly and easily. They clearly take great care of the place as well, it was spotless. Phoenicia is great as well! We hiked at Giant Ledge, and ate at the excellent Phoenicia diner, Peekamoose, and Sweet Sue's. We'll be back for sure.

Christa was an absolute joy! We were greeted with cookies and a warm welcome! My schedule was a bit crazy, and I could only get there late. She was extremely understanding and accommodating. The cabin is lovely and right int he perfect location. It was a quick walk into the quaint Phonecia. The hiking trails were great, and the forest view is breath taking. I highly suggest staying at Christa's cabin!

Dave was a great host! His place is in a quiet, secluded part of the Catskills, in close proximity to some excellent hikes. It's a lovely home. We went on a few hikes and visited several nearby towns in a single weekend, and this spot was a great central location. Dave also has great recommendations and was very helpful in general.

Spencer's chalet is the perfect place for a weekend getaway. It was quiet and peaceful, but still a short drive to all of the places we wanted to visit. Check-in was smooth and Spencer was great communicating needed information to us. There's a beautiful bedroom, but we chose to sleep downstairs on the futon and it was really comfortable. We'd definitely recommend this place - make sure to stop and get some firewood; the fireplace makes it extra cozy.

This is a cozy place to spend some time relaxing and being in nature. It is also around some of the best hiking spots in the area. We saw tons of deer and other friendly wildlife right in the yard. The house is easy to get to and convenient to some of the best restaurants in the Catskills. We were doing some work throughout our stay, so were very happy with the fast internet. We also took full advantage of the fireplace and had a comfortable stay in Spencer's Chalet.

Spencer was a very good host. Very responsive and flexible on checkout. The place is located very close to many trails looking at a mountain. It is quite and gets the beautiful morning sun. The fireplace was fun and the creek behind the house was accesible. Great place for a quite weekend getaway. You will need to bring your own cooking supplies and the coffee. There are some maintenance opportunities in the house, which will help it become even more beautiful.

Adorable house in the woods -- simple but clean. Love the fireplace, the balcony off the bedroom, and the grill in back. Wonderful to wake to birds chirping. The bedroom is very bright with a great big picture window -- don't plan to sleep in, when the sun rises early in summer. If you want to use the futon, you may want to bring sheets as they are only provided for the main bed (we slept on a light blanket on the futon) -- although the futon is very clean & looks new. We had a small problem with the toilet and Spencer was very responsive.

We loved escaping to Dacia's cabin and hope to come again. The wood stove was the highlight for our winter stay.

Dacia's cabin was the perfect weekend getaway for us coming from Manhattan. She provided absolutely everything we could have possibly needed and more. We enjoyed cooking local produce and meats on the outdoor grill and relaxing in the spacious backyard. The beds were cozy, along with the fireplace and we found the cabin perfectly clean and ready for our stay (even with quick notice). This is the ideal place to stay in Phoenicia. My family and I really enjoyed staying at Dacia's cabin, it is clean, well kept and comfortable. It was a real boon not to have to worry about kitchen basics in the small well stocked kitchen and my 4 year old daughter had a great time playing in the yard. The cabin is in a great location, it was really nice to be adjacent to but not directly in Phoenicia in a small community that has a more local feel to it. We took a short drive to hike in the Esopus creek, and bought all our groceries at the Mignolli farmstead about 5 minute drive from the cabin. Over all a really good weekend away.

Davis's cabin is great. It's very easy to get to and it has everything we needed: barbecue, fresh herbs, great yard and plenty of beds for 4 people. We look forward to visiting again.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was lovely and Dacia always responded promptly. Everything was completely in order upon our arrival, and the wood stove was especially nice to have. Would definitively recommend!

The cabin is fantastic. It is very well kept and their attention to detail is impressive. (It's actually nicer than the pictures show.) When we arrived the cabin was already warm, which was much appreciated. (We visited in January.) The wood stove was a lot of fun and we used it every day. There are individual in-wall electric heaters in every room, many of which we turned off in favor of the wood stove. It easily heats the living room and master bedroom. The view from that porch bedroom is also fantastic. Great spot to read and relax. (That is not an active doorway by the way. The main entry is in the kitchen.) We had a great weekend there and would definitely return. It's a very relaxing spot. The owners are also very easy to communicate with and very accommodating as well. Do go to the Phoenicia Diner for lunch. Think it's the coolest diner I've been to. Not a greasy spoon at all. Very fresh and lots of local ingredients.

We stayed at the cabin for a long weekend and were beyond pleased with the accommodations. It is a beautiful serene place that is much lovelier than the photos suggest. The cabin is quite comfortable and impeccably clean. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked dinner and a few breakfasts there. For us the best part was the stream and surroundings outside the cabin. We loved just sitting, relaxing and taking in the tranquil view in both rain and sun (and the stars at night!). It is the perfect escape- secluded and quiet yet close to town and many Catskills attractions. Some recommendations: Brio’s pizza, Sweet Sue’s breakfast, hiking at North South Lake, biking from the cabin into town (it is a hilly 10 minute ride). Frankie and Andrew were kind, thoughtful hosts who made sure we had all the information we needed before we got there and were always available and responsive. It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house. We highly recommend staying here- you will love it. Can’t wait to go back again!

Well what can I say other then the cabin and land are a little piece of heaven ! As always Frankie and Andrew maintain the cabin beautifully. And we were lucky enough to have 3 days of sunshine. It could not have been a more perfect stay.

Its hard to overstate the charm of the place. Just a great place to escape to. Expect spotty phone connections, but you can always hike to the top of Panther MT, every cell phone works up there, lol.

This property was EXACTLY what I needed for my personal retreat weekend getaway!!! Frankie and Andrew are so incredibly accommodating, responsive, and overall welcoming. Any guest could come in and tell automatically that they put so much time, effort, and love to make this cabin look perfect and inviting. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and will be booking with them again!

It is a wonderful warm and welcoming little cabin. The back porch faces a lovely wooded hill and creek, I had a wonderful stay. It's really in a beautiful area, secluded yet convenient and close to amenities. I'd love to stay here again when the mountains open, Belleayre & Hunter are about 20-25 minutes away!

Great for 2 couples. Not very private due to the proximity to neighboring houses, but that said there's a gorgeous back deck looking on to woods. The house is lovely and well kept. Grill and fire pit with jacuzzi on the back deck was awesome. I would not recommend if you have a small child because of the traffic and speed on the main road the house is on. Host was lovely. The back lights are hard to find, but look on the side of the house. I'd stay again.

Overall, we had a lovely stay at Laini and Mari's cabin. It was quiet, peaceful and overall a great place to decompress. The fireplace and hot tub were both amazing for warming up against the winter chill and the location is close to lots of great hiking and Catskills hot spots. Laini and Mari were wonderful hosts and very easy to get in touch with. A few things to note: the house is really close to the neighboring house. It still felt pretty private, but this is not a fully secluded spot in the woods. There is a lack of curtains for most of the windows, which isn't really a problem except for in the early AM if you're trying to sleep much past sunrise. When we got in, there was a lot of snow and ice on the steps leading up to the house, which wasn't ideal, and no shovel to remedy the situation (though Laini and Mari contacted someone to drop off a shovel ASAP for us, which was awesome). Also, there was something kinda funky going on with the stove, which caused it to make a loud buzzing noise when plugged in. This wasn't much of a problem for us because we would just turn it on to light the burners and turn it off again, but if you were actually trying to cook something in the oven, this would get pretty annoying. Finally, the hot tub was AWESOME but pretty dirty and there wasn't really an easy way to clean it. We would definitely recommend staying at Laini and Mari's place as long as you don't mind it being a bit rustic and a work-in-progress.

My family and I had a very disappointing experience. The hosts did not send us our check-in info and we were locked out in the cold with spotty reception. They remained uncommunicative the entire stay. The kitchen didn't have basics like salt and pepper and we found a horrible charred pan with rotten food in the oven. The oven was also jerry-rigged with a power strip to ignite the flames and emitted an annoying buzzing sound, which we were not warned about at all--if we had been told we would have adjusted our Christmas dinner cooking plans. The hot tub, the sole reason we booked this cabin, did not reach over 75 degrees, and the hosts left no information on how to troubleshoot, nor were they responsive to our messages. If you want a bare bones place to stay, close to Phoenicia then this is place is fine. The beds were comfy. It's close to Phoenicia Diner and Peekamoose which are excellent. But Christmas was bittersweet because of the condition of the rental and its inattentive hosts.

Laini and Mari were great hosts. Check in was super easy and they were quick to respond when we had questions. We had a great time at the house, perfect for 2 couples. House is as in photos, cozy 2 bed. Clean and quiet, we enjoyed the back patio during nights after a hike during the day. Kitchen is nice and big with lots of light. Fully stocked with basic essentials.

We loved and enjoyed the cabin and its beautiful, peaceful surroundings very much! The views, deck, hot tub, comfy beds, kitchen, living room/Netflix setup were all perfect for a relaxing weekend. Phoenicia/supermarket/shopping was a short 15/20 minute drive away. Everything was great (except the grill, which was too rusted to use) and we would definitely return!!

We had an amazing weekend at the Omi Cabin and we will definitely come back again! The cabin is pretty and cozy. The location is close to the mountains. The only thing that disturbs your day is the occasional sound of the Harleys on the road. The hot tub adds that extra touch to the cabin. We went to both Peekamoose Restaurant and Phoenicia diner as recommended by Laini and Mari and we loved them. It's a lovely getaway not too far from the city with lovely hosts as well. Thank you Laini and Mari!
