“Also located within the Waterloo Arts District, and just a short jaunt away from the coffee shop, Citizen Pie is another go-to for me. Chef V opened this iconic restaurant just a few years ago. He hails from Lithuania, but is no stranger to a classic Neapolitan-style Italian pizza pie. They use a wood-fired oven imported from Italy, and the pies are ready in about three minutes. They do offer take-out but in my opinion you lose the full authentic experience if you do not eat there. That being said, unfortunately seating is again sparse. ”

“Excellent Trinidadian food w/American flair. On weekends, you will also catch a live band playing jazz, blues, classical or island music in the evening and a party DJ during the late night. Tell chef Kelvin that I sent you!”

“Millard Fillmore doesn't actually offer food -- but they're happy to let you bring in your pizza from Citizen Pie, or maybe some delicious sausage from R&D across the road. It's the friendliest bar in the neighborhood, with live music lots of nights, great prices and good company.”

“Blue Arrow is a fantastic place to browse for all kinds of vintage vinyl records, along with cool collectibles and new releases. The owners are great. And it's also home to the Waterloo Alley Cat Project -- providing beautiful little houses for the community's free-ranging feral cats. ”
