Bring the past back to life in this re-imagined historical home. The colorful residence features a cozy interior with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furnishings, unique artwork throughout, contrasting patterns, and an enclosed backyard deck.
This bungalow is in one of the oldest and most festive neighborhoods in San Antonio. Sylvia and I live on the property and we love the ability to walk everywhere downtown. We especially enjoy living here during the fiestas and major events at the convention center and Alamodome as we can simply walk there.
The property is located in the Historic Lavaca neighborhood and is within walking distance of everything in the Southtown Arts District, the Riverwalk, Convention Center, Hemisfair Park, and the Alamo Dome.
  • Our hosts were pleasant and the bungalow was very comfortable.

  • Brett was super easy to communicate with. The apartment is in a great part of San Antonio and the apartment itself is super stylish and comfortable. It’s way larger than I expected it to be and I loved how they kept the vibe of the old building while making it modern and cozy at the same time. I will book again for sure when I visit next!

Uniquely designed loft apt with old charm & pvt entrance. First floor has a living/TV area, a small kitchenette, two person jacuzzi tub with jets, and a bathroom with stand-up shower, washer/dryer. Second story loft bedroom has queen bed, wardrobe, drawers and a personal balcony. Location is within 15-20 minute walk to all downtown attractions. Local family owned restaurants & bars across the street. Bus stop and bike rental next to the house. Onsite covered parking. Area is artsy & eclectic.
This loft apt space is the back half of a charming craftsman home built in 1930 with a lot of history. I've listed this space as an "Entire House" because the loft has it's own entrance from the backyard that's separate from the main house front entrance. The loft is self-contained, 500 sqft space with its own living/sitting/TV area, kitchenette, laundry room, bathroom and a two person hot tub jacuzzi/whirlpool on the first floor and a cute high ceiling loft bedroom on the second floor with a short glass wall overlooking the stairs. Kitchenette includes plates, glasses, sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and a counter top hot plate (electric) to heat a pan or a pot. There’s no oven. Laundry room with a washer and dryer are for your use. Bathroom has a stand up shower and a clothes hanging area. You can also sit out on the deck on cooler days and have coffee or wine. This space is attached to the main house with a wall and a door that's always closed. Nothing is shared with the main part of house. So you'll have total privacy. The front part of the house is where I live but since I travel a lot for work, my family friends stay there while I'm gone. Disclaimer: The unique design of the loft and stairs are NOT suitable for children and/or the elderly. Use the stairs with care and at your own risk.
The area is called Southtown and the neighborhood is called Lavaca, It's one of the oldest residential neighborhoods in San Antonio. Most houses around were built in the late 1800s or early 1900s. My street is now converted into multi-use, which means you'll see houses like mine and a few small business all intermingled. That's why you'll find two great restaurants, a bar, hair salon, tax/notary office across the street from the house. My next door neighbor has a house that looks just like mine but it's been converted into a medical clinic which operates only during the day. It'll be busy during the day and quieter at night with a good mix of car, foot and bicycle traffic on the street. The street is well patrolled by cops. Walking along my street is usually safe day or night. If you want to explore downtown living. Then this is THE place. The space is in great location to everything. Restaurants, bars, festivals, shopping and site seeing. Located in southtown (the new IT spot in San Antonio) is very artsy. So many great restaurants. If you like the outdoors there is a beautiful riverwalk trail a couple blocks away. The Alamo, Convention Center and The Riverwalk are 10-20 minutes walking distance. Perfect location for anything really.
  • Excellent place for a long or short term stay. I lived in the lower unit for nearly 2 months. No issues, no worries. Vik gives you as much or as little attention as you desire. I found the walking distance to local attractions and shopping reasonable and enjoyable. I recommend these accommodations.

    Chris2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Vik was quick to respond and his place is within walking distance of all the Southtown restaurants. On a few occasions I would walk less than a mile to the popular restaurants on the riverwalk in the heart of downtown SA.

    Sully2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Vik is by far the best Airbnb host I have ever encountered. Very responsible, communicative and humble. He truly made us feel like we were in a real home. Anything that we needed he did his best to provided for us. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and confortable at his airbnb. Great location, just walking distance to downtown. Great places to eat all around and most importantly safe neighborhood. If you have the opportunity to stay at his place do so because it is and incredible location with outstanding host communication. We are very thankful and happy to have meet Vik, he is truly an outstanding person. ¡Gracias por todo!

  • Great inner city neighborhood.. great local bars and restaurants... Right next door to the city bike share rack, which upon trial, we absolutely loved! It made it extremely easy to get anywhere around the downtown area in little time without having to worry about traffic or parking...

  • Great place, great communication, highly recommended.

  • It was an awesome stay at a great location.

  • Loved loved loved this place. I felt way more pampered than I would have at a hotel suite. The whirlpool tub was wonderful, and if I'd had time to watch TV I would have loved the huge collection of videos. It was amazing to be able to get down to the River Walk and convention center in about 5 minutes on the Bcycles right outside!

Our tiny 200sf studio has just about everything any traveler needs: wifi, kitchenette, full bath, private, quiet, great deck and seating area, and within walking distance of everything in the Southtown Arts District, Riverwalk, Convention Center, Hemisfair Park, and the Alamo Dome. You absolutely don't need a car; you can walk or uber for under $6.00 most anywhere downtown. Just about every type of restaurant is a casual walk away. Fully equipped and includes access to the pool and parking.
The studio is in oldest and most festive neighborhoods in San Antonio. Sylvia and I live on the property and we love the ability to walk everywhere downtown. We especially enjoy living here during the fiestas and major events at the convention center and Alamodome as we can simply walk there.
There are a ton of food options in the area, but if you like to prepare your own food, HEB Arsenal is just down the street. Taco Haven is a favorite for breakfast and lunch, but then again so are Tito's and Mad Hatter's Tea House. Steel City Pops is a great stop for a great tasting fruit-flavored popsicle or as we call them here in San Antonio, Paleta. Just 100 feet away we have a little convenience store. Hemisfair Park and the Convention Center are just down the street; no need for Uber. There is also Bus Stop and a B-Cycle rental station just around the corner.
  • The owners are wonderful hosts and providing a little oasis. Their kindness was welcomed enormously in a world that seems to have a shortage these days. Everything I needed was provided and the hosts pointed me towards little eateries and walkable spaces. Charmed!

  • Harvey and Sylvia were great! They were very friendly and gave my husband and me advice on great places to visit. We loved the brochures in the room to help us plan where to go. It was also great that the place was walking distance to downtown and the Riverwalk. We didn’t have a car with us, so it was great to have free transportation to most of the places we wanted to go. I would definitely return and recommend them to friends.

    Claire2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Super cute! Would love to stay again.

    Jen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Easy walk to the convention center. Can't beat it for the price!

    Andrew2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, Harvey and Sylvia are so nice, and they've got some of the cutest cats as well

    Evan2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Harvey & Sylvia's place is a great place to stay in the area. I was in town for a conference and their place was within walking distance to downtown. They were very friendly and were quick to respond to any questions I had. The place was cute and they had a bunch of friendly outdoor cats on the property as well. Would highly recommend!

    Meaghan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place! Harvey and Sylvia thought of everything a traveler could need. It was so clean. Bed was comfy. AC worked great. I appreciated the tv was set up with Netflix. Walking distance to the river walk was only a 15-20 min walk. Neighborhood was beautiful and very safe. Can’t say enough nice things about this gem, it’s perfect.

    Daniel2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cute "All I need" kind of place.I was very comfortable during my brief stay. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked inviting for hot day. This place is neat as a pin and so clean. I also like the original artwork and creative touches throughout the tiny house. The hosts were very responsive, their cat is very friendly but not allowed inside the apartment. Perhaps the best part of this booking, is the neighborhood. This area had previously fallen by hard times, that is apparent. Their side of the street has the older homes and across the street are newer more modern homes, all different from one another. I walked late at night enjoying the variety and creativity people express in the houses where they live. I felt totally safe and never threatened. There is also a mini-mart at the end of the block. This is a mere 30 flat walk to the Riverwalk and Alamo. It's a great way to stay in a quiet area and be so close to the action. This neighborhood is a great contrast of old and new. My last trip there was 30 years ago and how it has changed! If you enjoy efficiency and seeing people's creativity expressed in their housing, this is a great choice.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS Nothing is more important to the us than the health and safety of our communities. We are monitoring the situation very closely, and we would like to share the additional precautions that have been recently added. All amenities at this property have been closed. We have increased our cleaning standards, specifically as it relates to cleaning and disinfecting surfaces. This is all very necessary for the safety of guests, and we must do our part to keep this community safe.
Our modern one bedroom apartment is furnished with a queen bed, a couch, and an air mattress. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The kitchen is stocked with cookware to cook simple meals, stainless steel appliances, and a Keurig to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. There's a smart TV with Roku and Netflix (there is no cable) & free WiFi! PLEASE NOTE: There is construction right around the apartment that can be loud during morning/afternoon hours and often makes accessing the apartment difficult. Please be aware of this during the booking process.
Surrounding your suite are endless options for dining and entertainment. No matter the direction you go, you can find restaurants, bars, and necessities such as grocery store, ATMs, and gas stations. You’re also located only blocks away from the famous San Antonio Riverwalk. The Riverwalk provides options for tasty new bites, shopping, and much more. While this is the most popular attraction, there’s so much more to explore. Markets fill the streets with local shops, eateries, and public artwork to enjoy.
  • Perfect location to walk to the river walk. I really appreciated the top notch communication and over all experience.

    Aidan2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This modern, stylish apartment was just what we wanted for our first trip to San Antonio...it is literally in the heart of the action. We walked to Riverwalk, biked the Mission Trail, and enjoyed the museums, music, shopping, people-watching and nightlife...never moved our (gated, secure parking) car and walked everywhere. Our hosts were responsive and all our needs were met and expectations exceeded. We will definitely stay here when we come back to visit the grandkids..

Private room with attached bathroom and private entrance from the backyard, in this charming historic house in downtown's residential neighborhood. Room is about 150 sqft, comfortable for one person. FREE street parking. 15-20 mins walk to The Alamo, River Center, Convention Center and Tower of Americas. Several restaurants and bars across the street. Bike rental and bus stop next to the house. Neighborhood is very unique with a lot of history, walk/bike friendly, artsy and filled with energy.
The room was built as a guest room on the back corner of the house, on the second story. A staircase from the backyard leads to the room. The room has its own bathroom with a standup shower. The bed is full/double size, comfortable for 1 person. The room is equipped with a flatscreen TV, cable, WiFi, mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, iron. There is no stove for cooking. For the summer months, I've installed a personal AC unit that cools just your room. You can adjust the temperature to your liking.

  • I wanted to save money but not stay in a room. Vik’s place is similar to a studio apartment. It was great value for the price especially when you consider location. I walked to the Riverwalk, which was only 15 minutes away. The place is close to downtown but it's quiet. I stayed here for a couple of months. I recommend it for your next stay.

    Dee2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Because it is something g like a mother-in-law suite, the privacy is nice and being close to downtown is a plus. Easy to get to local shopping and eateries, plus I was working near downtown so the morning commute was a breeze.

  • Charming place in a nice part of San Antonio. Excellent value. Good communication with host; nice backyard. No real complaints. Only slight issue is that the bed isn't the most comfortable in the world.

  • Excellent location with a variety of things to do close by. Parking was no issue and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in San Antonio. Vik was very accommodating, especially given it was Thanksgiving weekend. He communicates in a timely manner and provides all the details one needs for their stay.

Revisit the past in a brand new loft situated in a revived nineteenth century carriage house. With full amenities and the feel of home, this is the perfect starting point for exploring a historic neighborhood, the River Walk, and the best of downtown. At night, have a barbecue in the private backyard.
King William is one of the most beautiful districts in America. King William Street, where we are, is at the heart of the district with two museums--The Steves Homestead and Villa Finale--within one block in either direction, and access to the San Antonio Riverwalk/Mission Reach is just across the street. The famous Pioneer Flour Mill and Guenther House restaurant is at the end of our street, too! The King William Historic District dates back to the 1790s, when the land that once belonged to the Mission San Antonio de Valero (now known as The Alamo) was made available for native settlers in the area or sold at auction. In the 1860s, the area was divided into lots and sectioned by present-day streets. Soon after, German nationals who immigrated to Texas in the 1840s began to settle in the area. The area developed as the King William district when Ernst Altgelt, a German immigrant who later became a businessman in San Antonio, named its main street after King Wilhelm I, the king of Prussia in the 1870. But the King William district didn't always have its current title. It was once known as the "Sauerkraut Bend," a derogatory name given to the German community. And during World War I, when anti-German sentiment ran high, King William Street was named Pershing Avenue to honor U.S. Army Gen. John J. Pershing. The Greek Revival, Victorian and Italianate-styled homes that line King William Street date back to the 19th Century. These homes have been there from the start; Germans that settled in the area constructed large and impressive homes to form their own idyllic neighborhood. After World War II, the neighborhood's allure began to decline after original settlers moved away and houses fell into disrepair. In the 1950s, preservationists began to restore original homes, making it a fashionable district once again. With its revitalization came its historical value. In 1968, King William became the city's first designated historic district and in 1972, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was also given the title of the oldest historic district in Texas. Art is treasured in King William and Southtown. The historical district holds an art walk on the first Thursday of every other month, while Southtown holds a walk on the first Friday of every month. Both give exposure to local artists and musicians through pop-up shows and galleries. And every home in King William has a story. The Nix Houses were built in 1899 by J.M. and Birdie Nix, young property developers from Alabama. Their architect was a young Atlee B. Ayres, a major regional architect of the first half of the 20th century in central Texas. Ayres was the first San Antonio architect honored as a fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was the Texas State Architect in the early 1910s and built thousands of iconic commercial and residential buildings and court houses across Texas. The Nix homes were started in December 1899 and finished by March 1900. Ever the business-minded family, the Nix's lived at 432 and used 434 as a boarding house. They had one son; a number of great grandchildren still live in the area. The Nix's occupied the home until 1907. In San Antonio, the Nix's built the Nix Hospital, the Emily Morgan Hotel, and the Majestic Theater, among others. The Bouquet family--Arthur William and Edna Laura--bought the home in 1943; daughter Edna Rose Bouquet lived in the home until 2005. For years, before King William was a designated historic district, Edna Rose, a redhead with long beautiful curls, operated a beauty salon in her carriage house. "I had a thousand customers in my heyday," she says. "I was the fastest hair stylist in San Antonio. I could turn you out in no time flat and you'd look beautiful. " The house and carriage house sat vacant until 2013 when the Galbraith family bought and restored the property. Welcome!
King William is the first historic district in Texas. We are on the San Antonio River Walk near downtown, with four museums right on our street. We have dozens of restaurants, bars, shops and sights to see within blocks of our place. It is best to put on your walking shoes to see everything.
  • If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Shelley is an amazing host and was very accommodating. We had a horrible flight delay that put us 13 hours behind our original arrival time. Shelley stayed up until after midnight to welcome us and was quick to communicate via text whenever needed. The carriage house is quaint and clean, located in a BEAUTIFUL neighborhood. It is walkable to riverwalk and MANY restaurants. Highly recommend— if you don’t book this place you will be disappointed! We will definitely be back if we come back to SA.

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Shelleys adorable studio apt. In beautiful historic King Williams, we enjoyed a wonderful walk to the River Walk and for coffee and breakfast. Shelley was very responsive to fix a hiccup we had and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend and stay in the future if we find ourselves in Texas again!

    Angie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place and hospitality. Also, the King Williams area is so beautiful and well kept, so close to a beautiful area of the river walk! This place is a no brainer if you want to have the most fulfilling experience in San Antonio!!!

    Diego2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a "must stay" rental! It is in a historic part of town and incredibly charming! With on street parking, close access to the River Walk, restaurants, and all the amenities we needed (and then some!), we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Shelley is a fantastic host and hands down, this is the best experience we have EVER had at an Airbnb. Book this rental - you won't be disappointed!!!!

  • You won’t regret staying at Shelley’s. Location is a short stroll down the river to Riverwalk. Loft is fabulous.

    Mike2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our time here was great and we would definitely return. Shelley's place was in a wonderful neighborhood and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

    Justin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t hesitate for a moment to book this space ! The neighborhood is absolutely charming, full of historic beautiful homes and Shelley‘s carriage house suite is everything you would need and more for a delightful stay!! 5stars! Shelley was easy to communicate with she even helped us when we couldn’t figure out the TV . It was very easy to walk to the Riverwalk /downtown San Antonio from the suite and we tried out a couple local restaurants that were right around the block, especially the Liberty Bar- they had great brunch and dinner.

Our house is located in downtown San Antonio with very convenient access to the Alamo, Alamodome, Hemisphere Tower, and the Riverwalk. Great for tourist coming to see all the sights as it is walking distance to everything. Our house is a four-bedroom single home and all rooms are listed on AirBnB (Red Room, Green Room, Tan Room, and Blue Room). Anyone renting a room will be sharing the house with any other guest who may be there at the same time, however, respect each other's privacy.
Our house was built in 1930 and has the vintage appeal to it as well as modern upgrades to help make you stay a clean and comfortable one. You will be loaned one towel per each guest (limit two).
Our house is located in Historical Gardens which is a older, quiet and safe neighborhood where neighbors look out for each other and the children play in the street (basketball).
  • Good value, close to the convention center.

Your retreat in the city! Lavanderie is a clean, rustic, historic, 19th-century Cottage nestled in a private gated garden right in the heart of San Antonio. Literally across the street from the world famous Riverwalk and within walking distance from great shopping, restaurants, and bars. Only a 10 min walk from the World Heritage Alamo and a 1/2 mile from the Blue Star Arts Complex. It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Modern fun in a historic setting!!
Staying at Lavanderie is an experience with the comforts of home, even though you're right in the heart of a city full of things to do and see! This romantic cottage is located on the estate of the Gustav Giesecke House in the King William Historic District of San Antonio and is a perfect romantic getaway or experience - something other than your traditional boring hotel room. There are no elevators or flights of stairs, although it is a bit of a cross the yard hike to the property so you may choose to reconsider wearing heals. Its rustic charm is more akin to a stay in a log cabin in the forest than a century-old guest house in the middle of the city, yet its fully appointed with linens, terry, soaps and shampoos - all the amenities you'd expect from a hotel stay. The bedroom, the majority of the original structure, houses a comfortable queen-sized bed with pillow top mattress. Original wood floors still run throughout. When you'd like to freshen up, the bathroom has a nice shower, the original claw foot tub and is stocked with thick, fluffy, super soft, oversized towels, soaps, and shampoos/conditioner. This cottage, “the wash house”, is what remains of the Victorian frame home and wash house build here in 1889 by Gustav Giesecke and his bride, Anna Francisca Groos. Their original frame home was demolished in 1915 when the couple expanded the property and built the large, brick, two-story, Arts-and-Crafts house which now stands as the main home on the estate. The Victorian wash house was converted into a guest cottage in 1950 with the addition of the sitting room and kitchen area and renovated in 2010. You'll find this snug, yet a comfortable space to get away and relax. In the area added by the two renovations, there's living/dining space, a small but 'mighty' kitchen, 32" flat panel TV with free Netflix. If you travel with your own entertainment, the TV fully supports connecting a Firestick or other devices via HDMI and USB. Your kitchen is small but still completely appointed with refrigerator, range/oven, microwave... and all the necessary cooking and dining utensils, coffee maker, plates, glasses, etc. to enjoy your own home-cooked meals, if you choose to cook. However, the entrance to the Riverwalk is right across the street and restaurants serving all varieties of cuisine can be found a short walk away. Parking is free, but only available on the street and is time limited by the city. We’ll help you stay in compliance so it remains free. Since 1889, only two families have owned the home and grounds. You'll see magnificent pecan and cypress trees on the property, these are believed to be centuries old. Native plants fill the lush garden surrounding Lavanderie. These plants provide a haven for wild birds so you'll likely see many varieties during your stay. Your cottage is a small, yet warm and comfortable retreat (500 sq. ft.) for you, or you and a loved one. If Lavanderie is available on dates you're looking at, grab that booking fast! Open dates do not last long. This is a very safe neighborhood and within walking distance to food, fun, everything really!
Your retreat cottage sits in a private, gated garden, in one corner of the Gustav Giesecke estate in the elegant King William Historic District. The neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of San Antonio's oldest and most architecturally significant areas. The grand houses of this neighborhood were built by successful German immigrants on the land bordering the San Antonio River and formerly farmed by the Spanish missions. Right across the street you'll arrive at the start of the world-famous San Antonio Riverwalk (on the San Antonio River) which offers shopping, dining and entertainment for all tastes. Feel free to stroll the area. Welcome to your perfect romantic escape.
  • If you want a modern new place, this is not for you. If you like a unique place with character then it is the place for you. Great location, walking distance to downtown or runs along river walk. Close restaurants. Great private space. Wake to birdsong in the morning.

  • Great location!

    Joni2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a delightful getaway tucked into the corner of a King William district property. It has charm, seclusion and light. It’s located in the heart of a beautiful treelined street, a block away from the Riverwalk and very convenient to major highways. The host provided space heaters and extra blankets. There’s also a grocery store around the corner and longer term parking about 2 blocks away. There’s nothing about this cottage that I didn’t like.

    Stephanie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place that those who love being near the city but despise hotels will love.

Originally built in 1904, the Retama is a 600 sqft, fully-renovated and updated historic bungalow situated in San Antonio’s oldest historic district — Lavaca. At the turn of the century, residents of Lavaca were primarily middle class, German immigrants. To read more about the Lavaca Historic District — https://www.sanantonio.gov/Mission-Trails/Mission-Trails-Historic-Sites/Historic-Districts-Neighborhoods/Lavaca-Historic-District/Lavaca-Historic-District-Expanded Today, Lavaca is still as vibrant and diverse as it was one hundred years ago — revealing a patchwork of colorful homes as unique as the people living in them. Over the past few years, I’ve had a hard time keeping track of all the new coffee houses, restaurants, revived breweries, unique shops, art galleries, and parks that have opened. I encourage everyone to check out Yelp! and Trip Advisor for updated recommendations to help guide their San Antonio adventures!
  • We loved the place and the stay at Retama, beautiful and comfy place. Loved that it’s within walking distance from restaurants, parks and even the Riverwalk. We are already planning our next trip to stay here again!

  • What a place! Apartment was so clean and felt very luxurious. If you want a great airbnb experience from start to finish, stay here! The parking garage was an added plus as we never had to worry about the security of our car. The location was great, being close to downtown and we felt very safe walking around at night. Fast and welcoming communication from the host. Everyone will love this home!

  • We very-much enjoyed our stay at this unit in San Antonio. It was in a great location near a bus stop that we utilized multiple times to get around! The unit was well-organized, clean, and welcoming. Jeremy went above and beyond to communicate with us before, during, and after our stay to accommodate any needs. Would definitely recommend!

    Billy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly what we needed for our long weekend in San Antonio and we loved that it was not right in the middle of touristy San Antonio but was within easy walking distance to the centre. The river walk in both directions from the apartment was so pretty and peaceful and we saw lots of birds on the riverbank when we walked towards the missions There are several very good restaurants nearby (not touristy but very fresh and tasty food) and we walked everywhere. There was plenty of parking at the apartment complex. Communication with Jeremy was easy and he had a great list of things to do. The only slight downside is that it’s near some train tracks and the first night that was a bit distraction but we found the ear plugs last had been left and were fine after that. Would definitely stay again.

  • The host were amazing and very caring! The place was very cute and clean, we will definitely be returning.

  • We had such a great stay at Mecedes and Eric's place! They were so easy to contact, responded super quickly and were accommodating. The place was clean and has everything you'd need. I'd stay there again for sure!

  • Amazing location, home & hosts!

    Nancy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • When we pulled up to the place i was a little thrown off just because of the location and thought it was in a bit of a rough neighborhood, but after seeing that the neighbors had a family with little kids it kinda gave me a little peace of mind. The interior of this place is really nice and you'll feel like you're at home once you walk in. One of the bedroom doors didn't fully close and a bathroom door didn't lock but it didn't really bother us since we were just there to rest before going out and sleep. They provided ear plugs which i think are a must especially cause the cars outside do get loud and the noise is noticeable but that's just because its an older house. Loved this place and glad we got to spend some quality time in san antonio. The location being right next to the alamo/riverwalk was perfect. It was like a 7 dollar uber to the riverwalk.

  • Absolutely loved this place! Eric & Mercedes’s home is stylish and warm. Check-in was a breeze and the location was perfect. A very cute spot to call home for the night. 10/10 recommend!

  • We needed a place to stay while attending a convention this weekend. We needed something close to the convention center but able to comfortably accommodate two couples. We were so lucky to have found this gem! The house was very close to the convention center and has two king size beds! Eric and Mercedes made sure to include things like extra blankets, sound machines and snacks. The nighttime can be a bit loud if you are a light sleeper but they have ear plugs and the sound machine to help out. I definitely recommend this place.

Southtown is a two-square-mile space just a few blocks below San Antonio’s touristy epicenter. Throughout this historic neighborhood are grassroots art communities and notable architectural gems as well as more than enough unpretentious watering holes and good restaurants to make you consider taking up permanent residence. This is a hip, up-and-coming area of downtown San Antonio. It's relatively quiet compared to central downtown areas and has a lot of unique, local restaurants/bars in the area.
  • Great location, easy check-in, quick responses and great bang for your buck in comparison to local hotels. Enjoyable stay.

    Daniel2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint apartment was perfect for our short trip to San Antonio. Beautifully furnished, sparkling clean, and tastefully decorated, we definitely felt at home. Access to the unit was a bit tricky, but Richie provided detailed and easy to follow instructions. Located close to the riverwalk and the Alamo, we could easily navigate the happening spots in the area.

    Gail2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This trip easily tops all of my other AirBnb experiences. Although we live only about 45 minutes away from San Antonio, we still felt like we were in a major city out of state. The checkin process was clear and very thorough thanks to the video, pictures, and descriptions sent to us the day of checkin. We absolutely loved the apartment and how nicely it was decorated. My wife kept mentioning that she wants to decorate our next home in a similar fashion. There were plenty of towels and other linens available for us to use, and the apartment complex itself was so quiet that it felt like a ghost town! Although there was construction going on immediately across the street from our stay (which we were made aware of weeks ahead of our visit) we didn't even notice it. And, Richie thought ahead by leaving some ear plugs and a sound machine for us to use just in case the noise was too unbearable. The location of this place is perfect! Only a couple of blocks from downtown San Antonio (easily walkable) but the thing I enjoyed the most was that it was only a block away from a cool little HEB market that we have never been to before (which has some bomb a** pizza)! All in all, this was an experience my wife and I will never forget, and we owe it all to Richie and his wonderful hospitality. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in San Antonio for a few nights, but I'm keeping it to myself so I can make sure its available for our next outing!

If you are a fan of industrial-contemporary design and minimalism, then you are going to absolutely love this 700 Sq Ft studio loft. Fully furnished for your long term stay needs! Located just a stones throw away from the River walk and within skipping distance of the booming art scene and nightlife of Southtown. This location will make your stay in San Antonio unforgettable.
Located on the top floor (3rd floor), this former timber warehouse, was built in 1946 and renovated in 2006 to stand out in the age of prefabricated condo/apartment style living. I personally remodeled this unit in 2015-2016 with a massive 154 Sq Foot, fully furnished kitchen, completely redone to be a dream to cook in. Concrete counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and a huge sink seem to bring out the inner cook in almost everyone. The lofted queen bed gives guests an absolute fantastic view of the skyline, during the evening. Directly under the loft is the "office". Furnished with a sit-stand desk and extra monitors that you can use to plug into your laptop. The bathroom has a large, tiled, walk in shower with some pretty stunning acoustics. Making it the perfect venue for your shower singing. Finally, this condo comes with a spacious walk in closet that will easily accommodate all of your luggage and storage needs. Note: I have added at 50" TV to this venue (not pictured) Ready to go with Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, whatever.
The condo is located in the old warehouse district of San Antonio. While many buildings in this area have been renovated, the area still maintains its industrial feel.
  • Wonderful place, so close to downtown that we were never bored. Loved spending a few months here.

    Jefferson2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ian is accessible at all times and close enough to take care of any issues. The location is perfect! It was a short walk or Uber to many different places to eat and drink. Both local favorites and famous locations. The riverwalk is about half a mile away and I enjoyed it immensely. It was a perfect distance between Downtown, the Riverwalk, the Missions and the Pearl areas. The highway is pretty close so you can travel anywhere in the city easily. I was working on JBSA and it was a really effortless drive to work, even during the rush hours. The place itself is modern and has every amenity you can think of. A normal day was luxurious and had lots of options. I could use the amazing kitchen and eat my meal at the bar or take it to the roof with a spectacular view of downtown. My favorite was definitely grilling at the pool and enjoying meals poolside. It is a gas grill and is really nice. The neighbors were welcoming and we actually watched a movie in the pool and ate as a complex. The location is gated and safe and secure. I really could go on forever, but I will definitely be back and will never forget all the memories that were made here.

    Justin2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ian really responded quickly to all my demands and was very generous. The view and amenities in the house was legendary. It is very close to downtown.

As a guest, you will enjoy the rich history of our home with the comfort of the 21st century. Our home is one of only a handful of homes backing up to the RiverWalk, in the heart of King William, the first historic district in Texas. The apartment faces the river and you will love the view. Our goal is to exceed your expectations and deliver an exceptional experience. Come stay at the perfect place to enjoy the charm of our city.
The Apartment is private, cozy, and efficient, just perfect for visiting the heart of San Antonio. A private entrance (staircase too) from the garden leads you to the 2nd floor apartment. It is stocked with high quality linens, towels, bathrobes, and thoughtful amenities. The extra-large king size bed in the Master Bedroom is heavenly. There’s a chair by the window to gaze out over the garden and see the ducks swimming in the river below. The Sitting Room is your place to unwind after a full day of taking in the sights. On one side of the room, there’s a cafe table for two if you’re eating in after a long day of sightseeing. On the other side is an oversized leather couch to curl up on to read or watch a movie. Apple TV login available. The small kitchen is perfect for storing food in the mini-fridge, brewing coffee in the Keurig, blending margaritas in the blender, or making some popcorn in the microwave. Snacks, water, and a bottle of wine are provided. Oatmeal, hot chocolate, coffee and cream on hand as well. No stove or oven. We hope you will take a step back in time and relax on the front or back porch. There are tables and chairs for you to make use of. The front porch of the main house is perfect for watching the world go by. This is a real treat! Enjoy our oasis and spoil yourself by staying at this tucked away spot.
Our home is on a large lot that sits right on the RiverWalk. You are able to explore the area by walking along the river just behind our home or you can walk along the quiet, pecan tree lined streets. The neighborhood is full of Victorian homes, each more beautiful than the next. Staying with us in the King William neighborhood while exploring San Antonio is the best of both worlds: live like a local while on vacation. You have the best restaurants, coffee shops, and gelato bars in our neighborhood where the locals dine. There are so many sights to see within blocks. You will love our serene neighborhood to rest at night you can call “home”. The busy tourist district where you’ll find the Convention Center, the Alamo, movie theater and IMAX, the mall, the museums is just 1/2 to 1 mile north from our front porch. (It’s best to bring your walking shoes to see everything. ) If you like paddle boarding or kayaking, both are available to rent on the river behind our home. We hope you have the opportunity to see first hand why we choose to live here in the heart of San Antonio.
  • This place is nothing short of the perfect stay! I walked every day, simply 15minutes average to plenty of Historical visits & views on the River Walk. Gina is quick to respond if you need anything, and has everything you could need!

    Elayzia2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Classy old house located on the riverwalk and convenient to several nice restaurants. The apartment is small but was fine for our needs. Gina is an attentive host (via text) and has thought through lots of the things that guests might be interested in. We had a great time.

    Michael2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • House is amazing, clean, and location is the perfect distance to walk downtown by way of the gorgeous river walk. Hosts have thought of everything and are true 5 star superhosts. Will be staying with them again the next time we are in San Antonio

    Shawn2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Gina went above and beyond with hospitality! Great host and fantastic location (the Riverwalk is right behind you, and tons of great restaurants are walking distance away). Highly recommend.

    Karen2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • It was the best choice for my visit. Great location, warm and thoughtful hospitality and very useful local tips! It was unusually (very) cold when I arrived near midnight, Gina brought me an extra heater on top of the one that she already prepared in the room and two built-in heaters which she turned on before my arriving. The place was super clean, well styled and equipped perfectly. Welcome snack was a plus! I would def stay again if I visit San Antonio again.

    Hye-Ryoung2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gina’s house is an architectural gem and you’ll get to enjoy its quirks and great location on the River Walk. The bed is incredibly comfortable and all the little touches - water, snacks, wine... - make you feel right at home.

    Jo2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful apartment in a literal castle in the King William neighborhood in San Antonio. The unit is everything that you see in the photos and Gina and John are super hosts. The famous San Antonio river walk is just over a fence in the back of their property (you can access it one block from the house). The neighborhood is safe and full of other gorgeous, older houses and you’ll find tourists walking by looking enviously at you when you leave the unit. There are many places to eat and get coffee within walking distance. There is a large flat screen tv an a very comfortable bed. One caveat, you need to be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs to access the unit.

    Peter2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gina was a very thoughtful host; adding many extra thoughtful gifts. The apartment was spotless, the location conveniently located just outside the city center along the river in the historic King William district. The apartment we stayed in was located on the second floor with no elevator so I would not recommend it to anyone that might have difficulty with stairs. Otherwise, the apartment suited our needs perfectly.

  • The Downtown Bungalow worked wonderfully for my husband, and me. We loved the great space to park our car, which stayed parked for our entire trip. We loved walking to nearby restaurants, and the Riverwalk, which leads to everything! We walked to the Alamo, the San Antonio Museum of Art, The Guenther House, Fish, and the Pearl. We also ate at Taco Haven, which is very close to the house. The King bed was heavenly, so incredibly comfortable! We slept very well. The towels were wonderful, and there were makeup towels for people who wear makeup, something I wouldn’t think of, as I don’t wear makeup. We loved the convenience of the washer dryer in the second bedroom, close, but far enough away, to not disturb you! Even though the bathroom is small, the tub is huge, and has a lovely shower. My husband enjoyed the Keurig, and the tea offered by Richie. We travel with our mini Keurig, and we love the ease of the Keurig. We loved the stylish decor of the bungalow. The living room was both beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. The dining area was perfect for the two of us. We really loved staying at the downtown bungalow. We had such a variety of weather, we needed both the air conditioning, and the heat. The nest thermostat made it very easy to change from one to the other. We got to San Antonio, and the temperature hit 78 degrees, the next day, it was in the 40’s. It is winter, so I expected the cold weather, but not the hot weather.

    Kathy2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Close to riverwalk, downtown, restaurants, and king William historical district. The Riverwalk is actually 15 miles long so great for walking, running, and biking. There are actually 5 missions in SA so dont just go to the Alamo. Rosarios is close, best mexican food. Place is super clean, cute, comfortable and Richie is a super communicator.

Nestled into our family's backyard are two private and separate guest units, each with their own deck and separate entrance. Completely private! Every effort to use beautiful wood and make a space you will be happy to wake up in as well as rest your weary feet. Centrally located in King William Historic Neighborhood and close to the Riverwalk, Downtown, Alamo, BlueStar and Pearl plus easy access to Fort Sam, SAMC, Lackland, Randolph, & Medical Center.
Set up like a luxury hotel room and close enough to walk to the riverwalk, Alamo, Bluestar, wonderful breweries and tons of great food yet stay in a quiet, peaceful and quaint neighborhood just named one of the 5 most walkable neighborhoods in the country!
Our neighborhood is full of homes built at the turn of the century. There is not a street where your eyes get tired of looking at the architecture! The downtown, horseshoe section of the River Walk; San Antonio’s riverside promenade opened in 1941. IT has long influenced other cities eager to replicate its development-spurring success. By expanding the River Walk from three to 15 miles in 2013, the path now comes two blocks from our home and is linked to five Spanish colonial missions. Sticking largely to the extended linear park, you can access a wide range of attractions, including the mission (collectively named a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2015) as well as Blue Star (a complex in our neighborhood with restaurants and shops), Briscoe Western Art Museum, Tobin Center (a performing arts center), Pearl Brewery (a premier complex with high end independent shops and restaurants).
  • We loved this place! Very adorable space in the historic King William neighborhood. You can walk to the Riverwalk, cute shops and restaurants, or just around the neighborhood. Close to downtown, the Alamo, etc as well. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

  • This space is perfect for a couple! Everything was provided: towels, wash cloths and premium toilet paper (which is important)! The bed was super comfortable! There is a small refrigerator and coffee and cream provided. Very close to everything and only 4 miles from the AT&T Events Center. Private and a separate space from main house and accessible through a private gate. Parking wasn't bad either. Would definitely stay here again! Just a few minutes from downtown and Riverwalk. This space is in the historic King William district. Quiet and cozy. Has central AC, a huge ceiling fan and even provides a sound conditioner which I loved! Thank you Jen and Nathan!

Small but cozy motel style Guest House with private entry from street and private carport parking. Location to downtown is less than 2-miles away and can get ANYWHERE with a short uber drive. A lot of the neighborhoods surrounding downtown just like any city, are not fully developed. If you are looking into staying a more modern/new area, this might not be what your are looking for. Great location for the price.

The ozone machine was used to disinfect the room for more safe! This area is an old safety historic community with kind neighbor ,1.5 mile to River walk. 2 bedrooms& 2.5bth, 1455 Sqft, it is more larger than other Airbnb house in this area. Master room king bed + full bth. Guest room Queen bed+bunk bed +full bth. A lather sofa&55 " TV have Netflix+Digital TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances and so the laundry with washer, dryer, fridge, WIFI and internet . Car parking spaces.
The ozone machine was used to disinfect the room after guest check out each times. So there was some ozone smell in the room, all of this is for the more safety! All the photos about this house are true!! This area(East of Hwy No.37) is an old historic community. I don't think it will let you satisfied if you are expecting a more suburban/gentrified feel to the neighbourhood in this area, because here history has been hundreds of years old and this is why many old houses in it. It is very close to the downtown and also very safety that I have never heard bad news since I owned my house . There is a train terminal in this area. So, I installed two soundproof windows in each sleeping rooms with doors and the effect is very good . My house is a special existence in this area!! It was built in 2006 , a charming almost new house with a modern look and decoration along with all the amenities this house offers makes this space unique. It is 1.5 miles to River Walk & Alamo and only need 25 minutes by walk, 1.0 miles to Henry B. Gonzalez Convention center and 20 minutes by walk, it will provide you an amazing experience. The house has 2 bedrooms and 2.5bathroom , the blow dryer and iron are available. This is a very historic community, neighborhood is a little bit old, but the people here are very friendly. The whole community is also very safe. It's very near the downtown, so you can walk to the river walk . It is very convenient to live here. There is a train terminal in this area, so there will be some noise, I have installed double window (Four layers of glass) and noise-proof curtains in each room, so the noise is can acceptableis even if the train passes, and I also provided ear plugs .
  • Greay stay and only a 2 mile walk from down town

  • Location was a bit questionable but overall the house itself was very nice and clean. The ceilings were really nice and there were helpful notes placed around the house for our convenience. I would definitely recommend gangs place and would love to come back again.

  • Overall was a great place to stay.

  • Awesome place

    Nick2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The open floor plan and tall ceilings are great for entertaining or letting your graduating airman relax. The washer and dryer in the kitchen was very useful on my trip. Only 15-20 minutes away from Lackland AFB and around 10 minutes into downtown. 15 minutes from the San Antonio Airport and the Japanese Tea Gardens (highly recommend). Gang replies quickly and is very friendly! The houses are close to each other on that block and the streets looked a bit shabby, but I felt safe at Gang’s place. I would stay here again if given the chance to be back in San Antonio!

    Taylor2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying at Gang's place. Everything was so great, sparkling clean, lots of amenities, water run so smooth and as should be...all bathrooms are great! The location is so perfect, I even walked home from the UTSA (the venue) and it was not too far. Great neighborhood and the train did not bother us (also the owner provide the earbud if you get disturbed by the train sound). Gang took care of us well..plenty of soap, body lotion, shampoo, clean towels, blanket etc etc... Just great and will surely stay there again next year...

  • This Airbnb is amazing and so clean. I was concerned about the neighborhood based on the reviews but once I got there, I realized they were exaggerating a bit. The neighborhood has not been ravished by gentrification so the homes are a little run down. Thats it. The neighbors were very friendly and polite. Two even let me pick fruit from their yard and practice my Spanish! Yay! The house is easy to enter as there are instructions on the door. In fact, there are instructions all throughout the home. The home smelled clean upon entering and the temperature was very comfortable. The beds were nice and comfortable as well. The master bed is low so if you have trouble getting up from the floor, this will probably be a problem for you. The shower temp and pressure are phenomenal! Brava! After spending the day in town, my body welcomed it! The kitchen has everything you will need plus little extras like condiments from previous guests. There's natural light throughout the home which makes it feel more inviting. We visited when the pool was closed but there's a pool in the back off of the deck with a cover. The cover does not look to be easy to remove but I would still watch the littles around it. The back and front porches are great for your morning tea and/breakfast as there's seating and a table located on both. We enjoyed breakfast on the back porch while listening to music. You're very close to everything cool in San Antonio....literally 7 minutes from S Alamo Street via minivan :) As the owner mentioned, there is a very active train track literally 100 yards from the home. We didn't notice it after about 30 min but heard it a few times while we slept. We have an infant so night noise is the norm for us so a little added horn was nothing. It may be something for you though. I believe earplugs were provided. I believe I read that in the home. We didnt need nor use any and rested quite nicely. I highly recommend this Airbnb. It has quickly become our new first choice for our SA visits.

    Sunshine2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Gang’s space. A party of 7 traveling through, we had enough space to lounge around, watch the free Netflix provided on a huge tv and enjoy the quiet neighborhood (when the train wasn’t passing). But we actually have no complaints about the train as we rested well in the comfortable beds and had a good nights sleep. Great AC and heater as we stayed in late January. My party consisted of golden girl ladies and just needed to remind them of the one step to enter and one step in the living room. But Gang has enough night lights and lamps to help with this. Plenty of shampoos, towels...all as described is accurate in the post. Good and safe neighborhood. I highly recommend this place. I’d stay here again!

Awaken in a minimalist bedroom with walls of limed and rough-hewn wood paneling. Traditional and reclaimed materials combine with contemporary design to create a unique and cozy space. Read a book on the shady front porch of this historic house.
The Studio is perfect for a single traveler or a couple who are looking for a comfortable, intimate, beautifully-designed space to call home. The bedroom features a mix of original and new wood, while the unique bathroom features plaster and copper piping details. The design is definitely unique among any room you have stayed in before--we had fun with these rooms! The queen-sized bed has nightstands, lights, and outlets on either side of the bed. On the opposite wall, the amenity shelves have all the essentials: wifi, Roku TV, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, and basic glassware and dishes. In one corner is a full-height wardrobe with room for hanging and drawer storage. The bathroom has a spacious stand-up shower, toilet and single sink with mirror above. The ceiling fan will do a lot to make the space comfortable year-round, especially when combined with open windows on a lovely day. However, on hot summer days and cold winter nights, a new minisplit on the wall opposite the bed will do the heavy lifting to efficiently heat and cool the space. The room features 100-year-old long-leaf pine on the bed wall, all of which is original to this 1907 house. The hardwood floors are also original. New white-washed pine boards line the other walls (and serve as the backdrop for some of our architecture drawings). The east-facing windows get beautiful morning light, which can be softened with translucent white curtains. To bring daylight into the bathroom while maintaining privacy, we installed a frosted sliding glass door. The bathroom itself has a distinct palette of custom plaster, rich floor tile, and custom wood shelves (also made from long-leaf pine harvested from the house). We hand-made the vanity and mirror base with backlight. The plumbing is all new with custom-design exposed copper piping. Don't forget to enjoy the private porch--perfect for relaxing outdoors under the trees, with great street/people-watching views from the right angle.
The house is in the King William neighborhood, right between the main boulevard, the river, and the bustling activity of Alamo Street. Many restaurants, bars, and shops are within a 10-minute walk. The famous Riverwalk begins 15 minutes upriver.
  • Everything was as the description says and then some. The apartment was super cute and in a super nice and walkable area. I didn’t realize how close it was to the river, ice houses, and a grocery store. Ryan was a great host. He gave super detailed instructions, checked in to make sure everything went as planned, and let me know he was available to help. It was a relief to have this getaway I could escape to when I got over conferenced.

  • I loved this place, it is very clean and elegant. Richie responds back you you very quick and it is very close to many places such as the river walk.

    Ileana2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really great apartment! The location is really close to the riverwalk. My wife and I got around town on the electric scooters that are everywhere in San Antonio! Such a blast! The bed was very comfortable. If you like a really firm bed, this one might be too soft, but it was great for me and my wife. Luxurious pillows! It also had a record player and some records to listen to... The washer and dryer were a plus! Very clean!

    William2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Stayed here for work at Gonzales Convention center which could be walking distance but we rode scooters every day. One block from H-E-B grocery and walking distance to River Walk. Apartment complex is well maintained and nicely built and fairly new. Pros: -clean, modern and very very safe with several key required access points -huge shower, huge closet, equipped kitchen, nice couch -cozy sheets and memory foam bed -robes and towels were clean and nice -parking in closed garage and gym -walking distance to everything but not near major tourist crowds -San Antonio scooters come in handy Cons: -we drove a tall van and had to park across street in paid parking, so oversized vehicles not ideal -tv has super bright light from the power button so as a light sleeper, I had to unplug it at night lol -no cable network but tv apps like Netflix were fine -construction across the street as described in description but host was very apologizing and it wasn’t that bad Overall we LOVED this place and the location and superior quality was unbelievable for the price. Very awesome stay and will definitely try to come back every few months that we visit. Richie is a great host and super helpful and responsive!

Stephanie & Joe left a little binder including a great list of local places to eat and drink, but maps and suggestions for things to do and places to see! The riverwalk is about 7-10 minutes on foot. Couldn't ask for a better location really! Highly recommend!

Parking is in front of the condo and free of charge. I highly recommend this condo. I look forward to my next visit.

A tiny home with pool in walking distance of the Alamo and Riverwalk in the super cool historic Lavaca neighborhood of Southtown. Great view of the Tower of the Americas from your own patio. Cute tiny living space made from shipping container--great for single, cozy for couple. Heritage materials--vintage wood, glass, tile--throughout. Deck with own brick bbq area + outdoor shower. Semi-stocked mini-fridge, country sink. Aveda products. Private parking place in alley. Xeriscaping, fruit trees.
Walk, bike, scooter all around central San Antonio from this utterly unique tiny home. Moments from some of San Antonio's finest restaurants, best ice houses, hippest bars, best taco stops plus the city's coolest popsicle shop. Splash in the property's pool or soak in some San Antonio sunshine as you roll out of bed. There's even a private patio area for your dog--just make sure you pick up after him/her before you leave...
The Lavaca neighborhood in Southtown is San Antonio's oldest residential neighborhood. Our house was built in 1895 by the chief operator of the Western Union at the turn of that century. The neighborhood has galleries, restaurants and bars and is next to the historic King William neighborhood with its mansions and more galleries, restaurants and bars! The Blue Star Arts Complex, the Riverwalk and HemisFair with the Convention Center, the Institute of Texan Cultures and the Mexican Cultural Institute and, of course, the Alamo, are all a short walk away.
  • Such a cute space and so convenient to downtown San Antonio! We walked everywhere and found it to be a great home base. Penny was very responsive and helpful we’d be happy to stay here again, great value! It is cute and cozy, but there are great outdoor spaces for you to relax in!

    Jackie2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I just LOVED staying at the Alley Cat. The eponymous alley is nice and quiet, there was plenty of room to park my 4-door Toyota, and the space itself is snug and secure--=and what a wonderful space it is! The shipping container has been transformed from its original form thanks to a clever design and beautiful salvaged materials. There are stained glass windows and sliding doors that let in the beautiful San Antonio light (though the nifty blinds can be adjusted for total privacy or charming views of the backyard/pool area and patio). The bathroom is lined in gorgeous oversized tile. The apron sink rests beside a butcherblock countertop. There is art on the walls and beautiful pillows and blankets on the bed, which is very comfortable. Furthermore, the smart layout makes what could feel like a small space feel spacious: the table can be folded up or down as you need it; the chairs can be folded and hung on the walls; and the wall shelving over the bed and in the bathroom gives you plenty of space to stash your things. I was comfortable sleeping, exercising, and working there, and I loved stepping outside to drink my coffee on the patio each morning. The area is ideal, close to the convention center, gardens, restaurants, bars, and shops but just tucked away enough that you're insulated from the usual city noise. Finally, the hosts were very thoughtful. They provided a variety of coffees and teas, and I checked in to find the fridge stocked with two Coronitas and two bottled waters. It was truly a unique and delightful experience staying here, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

  • Awesome digs!!! Great location! Walk to some great restaurants right around the corner. Beautiful neighborhood. The inside was so cute. Has us thinking about using storage container for our vacant land. Two little Coronas greeted us when we got there. We had three dogs with us so the private courtyard was awesome. We also had a minivan and the parking spot worked beautifully as we never moved our car during whole stay everything was so close. Would definitely stay again hopefully in warmer weather so we could utilize the cute pool! Thanks for everything.

Conveniently located in Southtown, this clean and quiet 3 bedroom house is a perfect place to work from! I installed AT&T Fiber Internet, making working from the house quick and easy! I also have Direct TV in the living room for local and cable channels as well as several work-friendly spaces including a desk! When you rent this house you're renting the entire home, not just part of it. This is NOT a duplex! The kitchen is fully stocked as is essentials such as soaps and toilet paper!
Built in 1915, this home has been beautifully remodeled, with 12 foot ceilings in the living area and Bamboo flooring throughout. The house is nicely decorated with comfortable beds and TVs in every room. I use a local laundry service, Skiplaundryday, to professionally clean all bed linens so you can sleep with confidence knowing the bed lines are clean and fresh. This is costly, but worth it! Because we value the safety of our guests, there is a smoke detectors in each bedroom and a smoke detector/carbon monoxide located in the kitchen area, as well as a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and outside barbecue area. No need to worry about a slow internet connection. We offer free AT&T Fiber Optic connection. Livingroom: The living room has a 55" TV with Roku, FREE cable, FREE Disney+, FREE Netflix , and a Nintendo with over 100 games! You'll also find several board games to enjoy, and an assortment of magazines and books. There is plenty of seating space with 2 large sofa's, one of which convert into a queen size bed. Dining Area: The dining area contains a beautiful dining room table with 6 chairs and a buffet. We also offer 2 bar stools for additional seating. In the corner you'll find a high chair. Kitchen: You will have access to a full size refrigerator with ice-maker, Gas Range, and large microwave. The updated kitchen contains pots, pans, casserole baking dish, cookie sheets, dishes, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, waffle maker, blender, toaster, and a coffee bar with a Keurig, and coffee press! You will also have access to a new front loading washer and dryer. Master Bedroom: You will find a queen bed with upgraded linens, including 100% cotton sheets and comforter. Bed linens are professionally cleaned after each guest. You'll enjoy a 50" TV with Roku and Netflix. There is an attached master bathroom with a spa like tub. If you need to check emails or do a little work, you will find a desk in the quiet and privacy of the master suite. 2nd Bedroom: You will sleep comfortably in a queen bed with upgraded 100% cotton linens cleaned by Skipdaylaundry after each stay. You can relax in bed and watch your favorite show on a 49" TV that comes with free Netflix and Roku. 3rd Bedroom: This bedroom has 2 twin beds with 100% cotton linens and a 43" TV with Netflix and Roku. The Backyard: You will find a new 10x12 Gazebo with mosquito netting, and a large table with 8 chairs where you can play board games or just relax. You will also have the option of using the outdoor electric grill to prepare a delicious lunch or dinner for the family.
This is a neighborhood that is quickly transitioning. New apartments are going up all over the place as well as new homes. Full disclosure, not all homes in the area have undergone renovation, only about 50% so far. So, for example, If you're standing in the front yard, you can see brand new 400k houses for sale down the street. Across the street is a house that hasn't been remodeled in at least 40 years! This is a common site in this neighborhood. However, the neighborhood is very quiet and extremely safe.
  • Great home! Great hosts. They gave us extremely thorough check-in instructions and were very communicative throughout our stay. Everything was as expected. We had a wonderful weekend visiting San Antonio!

I love that she add in the instruction that you get 2 days before our stay. The Instruction were great. Made it easier to get to her place. Would differently stay here again. Thanks Joann, Marcus and Alex for a wonderful stay.

  • Overall a great stay, super vibey and industrial (in a good way!). The place was super clean, and amenities were offered that most Airbnb’s don’t have such a toiletries, laundry, some food items. My only complaint was that it is located right next to the tracks, the train ran odd hours of the night, other than that everything else was amazing. I would highly recommend to my friends and family in the area.

  • The apartment was unique in design which we loved and everything was clean. Only a quick car ride to the river walk. The patio on back overlooking the city was a great surprise.

  • This place was so stylish and perfectly located! We had a slight issue with the washing machine and Dave was so quick to get back to us and help us resolve it, he was more than accommodating! We will definitely stay with Dave again if we come back to town!

Beautiful apartment in a remodeled 1900's house in San Antonio's Dignowity Hill Historic District. Our home is located less than a mile from the Alamo, Alamodome, Henry B Gonzales Convention center and the Riverwalk. The Pearl and hundreds of restaurants are all either walkable or a short Uber ride away. The apartment has 1 bedroom, a living room with queen sized sleeper sofa, full bathroom with tub/shower combo, kitchen including dishwasher and a washer/dryer.
Our house is recently updated with all high end appliances yet keeps it's historic charm from the original 1900's. Very close to the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Alamodome and all downtown attractions. Easy access to transit and highways. There is a large fenced backyard shaded by a mature pecan tree. If you catch it in the fall the pecans are very good! Outdoor seating is provided as well as a grill. One of San Antonio's oldest historic neighborhoods, Dignowity Hill is an up and coming artsy neighborhood in the urban core, walking distance to the Alamodome, St. Paul's Square/Sunset Station, River Center Mall, the RiverWalk, the Alamo, La Villita, The Convention Center, The Tower of the Americas in Hemisfair Park, the Majestic Theater and 100's of restaurants.
Sports and live music fans flock to the Near East Side to visit the Alamodome. Once home to actress Joan Crawford, this part of San Antonio includes charming Saint Paul Square, the historic up and coming neighborhoods of Dignowity Hill, Government Hill and the Knob Hill with its landmark Victorian homes the Elizabeth Bowen Nelson House and other Classical Revival architecture. Other neighborhoods include Denver Heights and The Historic Gardens Neighborhoods adjacent to the Alamodome. The Hays Street Bridge is a land bridge that connects downtown to the Near East Side while offering walking, biking, and outdoor recreation. Other notable landmarks are the historic San Antonio Cemeteries, The Mission Revival style Southern Pacific Passenger Depot (and other landmark structures at Sunset Station) and The University of Houston's San Antonio branch of its Conrad Hilton College.

  • An affordable and clean space close to all the fun things. It has a safe backyard for the pups to get some exercise. The hosts added thoughtful touches and responded immediately to any questions we had! We would definitely stay here again.

  • What a wonderful place to stay! Is within walking (or scooter) distance of all the fun stuff in San Antonio. If you go for a convention it is a perfect place to be because the foot traffic is minimal but the stay is close to everything you may need! Very clean, and super prepared with extra towels, blankets, etc. Would highly recommend !

  • The Airbnb was right next to downtown and the Riverwalk. Great food really close and we were in town for a show and we weren't even that far away from the show we were trying to see. Very comfy place and we were so excited that it was dog friendly! Will definitely be staying here again when we're in town.

  • Irene's place is wonderful! It was extremely clean when I arrived. Spacious, walking distance to downtown, and very comfortable. I didn't need anything from her, but Irene was very communicative and checked up on me to make sure my stay was going well.

    Libby2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is excellent!!!! clean, beautiful, cozy, comfortable... Also, it is very convenient...walking distance (5-15)from restaurants, bars, and nice touristic attractions in the river walk area.

    Manuel2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Great place. Very clean and modern. Wonderful communications with host. The only issue ...which I want to stress was communicated clearly to us...was the construction directly across from the place. It did not bother us but with all the workers right outside we tended to keep our blinds closed. Wish it was warmer out so we could have taken use of the beautiful pool and outdoor area. Also a H.E.B. is so close. I would suggest the happy hour pizza. Was a surprise how good it was. 2 beers and a 16" pizza for $10. I would look to book any place from Irene again.

  • Irene was a FANTASTIC host and we were absolutely stunned and floored by how fabulous the apartment was. Completely exceeded our expectations. The place was incredibly stylish and clean, and walking distance from the riverwalk and restaurants. We were from out of town and were not expecting a full-blown multi-page booklet of recommendations of restaurants, things to do, and places to see. The check-in process was incredibly easy and smooth and Irene was very friendly and helped make sure the stay was perfect. SO impressed with the professionalism, the fabulous place, and wish we could give her more than 5 stars!!!
