Places to stay in Spruce Pine
Close to skiing/hiking/horseback! Apartment style living that is separate from the main part of the house. Complete with queen bed/bedroom, full bathroom, bathtub, shower, full kitchen, free wireless internet, free HD DirecTV. Fully stocked kitchen.
Full kitchen/laundry/queen size bed/soaking tub/custom glass shower/large sofa/HDTV/wireless internet. The space was recently updated and everything is new! This is your home away from home. Comfortably sleeps 3-4. The sofa is big enough for two people. Complimentary coffee is provided each morning for each guest (self-serve Keurig machine). You will also have some breakfast items already in the fridge when you arrive. There is a Sonos speaker in the bedroom that is accessible only via an app for both Android or iPhone. You can listen to music while winding down your evening. Or, if you're feeling a little playful, there is also an Xbox 360 in the living room with a few games. This space is adjacent to a separate living area/apartment all under one roof. You will have your own controls for heating and air, however. There is a bit of hiking to do behind our house to explore a little nature. There is also a river located about a mile from us if you'd like to bring your fishing gear. There's even a few perfect spots to bring a tent and set up a camp fire above or around the apartment. Also, enjoy the recently built fire pit! Although we are located in a fairly remote area, you will be nearly equidistant from most of the reasons people come to Western NC! We are close to Sugar Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain Resort (40 minutes to either one, although only around 25 miles in distance). It's only a short 25-30 minute drive to Grandfather Mountain and an even shorter drive to beautiful Linville Falls (plenty of hiking/easy walking). You could also hang out in charming Spruce Pine, North Carolina which is only 15 minutes away or head over to the most interesting city in the world; that is, Asheville, NC which is only around an hour away. You can also stick around and enjoy a drink on the deck, pitch a tent and camp, do some exploring by hiking, or fish! Plenty of parking available on-site (grassy area). Airport pickup and drop off from nearby airport up to 3 hours away for a fee. This is a duplex arrangement. Although you will have full access to the apartment, the other side of the house is inhabited as well. There are only walls so keep in mind there may be some noise, but nothing that should disturb your stay. If visiting during the Winter months (anytime November thru late March) please remember to be cautious of snow/ice with preferably a 4WD vehicle. The road that leads up to the apartment is paved but there is a slight grade near the top. You'll also want appropriate clothing if you plan on getting out.
We are isolated from nearly everything with only a few sparsely located neighbors.
  • Great spot to choose in the Linville/Newland area after a day hiking the trails. Great kitchen. Special shout out to Roxy :)

  • The place was awesome! Great mountain view, very stylish, close to many parks. The only problem we had was because most things were close due to coronavirus, so call in if you want to visit any place. We were fortunate to get The Blowing Rock open still, but Grandfather Mountain was closed on the same day. A quick check-in note: download/screenshot all of the instructions to find the house before you arrive since you may not have internet access around that area. But the instructions are very clear, including all pictures of the turns.

  • This Airbnb is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. I was shocked with how well everything has been kept considering it stays pretty booked. The amenities are all new and the decor is very stylish. The home was very inviting and the perfect size for a couple. On top of being a great space to hang around, the house is just a short drive to natural attractions. The highlight for my husband and I would probably be Roxy, the dog. She was the cutest greeter when we first arrived and hung out with us during our bonfire. She was the perfect vacation dog, friendly but didn't cling to you.

  • Lovely place for a weekend trip. Nice and secluded with great views and great amenities. Everything you can think of is already done for you and all you need to do is show up! Would absolutely come back for a longer stay.

  • Fabulous little getaway for some much needed rest and relaxation. Roxy was our greeter upon arrival was most gracious and adorable. The home was so cozy and comfortable. All the extra added amenities was great and appreciated. Loved the bathtub!!! Seeing the deer wander through was an added extra bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

  • You absolutely want to spend a quality time away from the city at this place. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere and takes time to get to the house but once you do there is no other you’d rather be. The price, the quality, the modern design, the amenities. Ah! I just can’t say HOW much we loooooved it! We wish we stayed two nights or more but we only got one this time. Both of us travel and both agreed that this place is the best Airbnb we ever had. We definitely will be back! Such a retreat! Such a great hospitality! Such a great idea! And personally we would like to thank Ricky for adding his love and care that is so rare to find nowadays! 100% well done!!!

Surely the place you dreamed of as a child! The treehouse sits above a beautiful mountain stream. Close to parks, art and culture, great views, and restaurants and dining. You’ll love the treehouse because of the romantic coziness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
Idyllic 600 sq. ft. artist’s treehouse deep in the forest, 35 feet above a mountain stream with gently cascading waterfalls – just 45 minutes northeast of Asheville, NC. Just 45 miles west of Boone, NC. Perched high in the sky, this home offers sleeping for up to six. Follow the floating log staircase to a romantic upstairs loft with Romeo and Juliet balcony. Lounge in the window seat there, enjoying the best view in the house. Or enjoy the cozy sleeping loft tucked away off the living room. It's the perfect place to curl up with a good book. Stroll along the wrap around deck for magnificent views of the stream immediately below. Sit by the crackling wood stove and enjoy it's cozy warmth. The modern kitchen was made for a master chef. All the cookware, organic spices, and oils are provided to whip up an amazing meal. This is the place you surely dreamed of when you were a child! Designed and built by two imaginative and experienced natural builders, this tiny treehouse hamlet sits on 6 wooded acres with south – facing slopes at a comfortable elevation of 2,150 feet. It is near Mt. Mitchell, the tallest mountain east of the Mississippi and only twenty minutes away from the renowned Penland School of Crafts and the community of Celo, in Yancey County, where more artists per capita live than anywhere in the U.S. The Blue Ridge Parkway will get you within 20 miles of the home. The newly paved highways take you the rest of the way. With easy access to state-maintained roads and just 7 miles from all the conveniences in Burnsville, NC, this quiet, tucked-away eden offers the best of both worlds. An inspiring wildlife and birdwatcher’s paradise, its’ other features include: a view of the beautiful North Toe River from mountain plateau, magnificent rock outcroppings, a small sounding cave, nature trails and many edible wild plants. Simply walk across the street to enjoy the Toe River. It offers refreshing deep waters for swimming and excellent trout or bass fishing. Walk along the pebble shores and simply enjoy the beauty. The Appalachian Trail is within 15 miles of the home running along the NC and TN border. Take a short drive for a worthwhile hike. The home is also within 20 miles of the Roan Mountain State Park for another beautiful hike. *** please note the sleeping loft (not bedroom) is accessed by a fixed ladder. Best for school age children or mobile adults. Not suitable for younger children and older adults.
The treehouse sits on a completely private, 6 acre, wooded lot. It is within 2 miles of the quaint town of Green Mountain which features a genuine general store and post office. The neighboring town of Burnsville is about 1,700 people and is nestled in a valley surrounded by the highest peaks in eastern America, including Mt. Mitchell. It's small downtown is dominated by the Town Square with towering trees. Burnsville is located 35 miles northeast of Asheville, along the Mt. Mitchell Scenic Byway. The Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair transforms the streets around Burnsville’s town square into a festival affair for craft and art lovers, with more than 150 juried crafters displaying and selling. The annual fall Yancey County Dream Home Tour benefits Mayland Community College and features showcase homes in and around Burnsville. Our favorite dining spot downtown is the Garden Deli with a fantastic array of high quality sandwiches, plus dinner entrées on weekend nights (closed Sundays). Their beautiful outdoor dining is right on the Town Square, surrounded by lush plantings and flowers. Many love to drive around to find the area's 200 Quilt Blocks installed on the sides of barns and buildings throughout the countryside and villages. Nine driving trails take you to view the vividly painted squares. In downtown Burnsville, see the Quilt Block Sundial, the largest vertical sundial in North Carolina and the only quilt block sundial in the world, on the side of the Yancey Common Times Journal building near the Town Square. The eight-foot by eight-foot wooden structure features three sets of numbers for telling time: for daylight savings time, for standard time and one for local apparent time. A plaque beside the block explains how to use the sundial. The TRAC (Toe River Arts Council) Gallery downtown at 102 West Main Street exhibit local artists with changing exhibits and a great gallery shop. With work from over 100 artists in a variety of media: clay, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber, wood, sculpture, mixed media, and more. The quality and diversity of art in the area is outstanding. TRAC sponsors the Toe River Studio Tour twice a year on the second weekend in June, the first weekend in December. Over 100 studios and galleries are represented in this free, self-guided tour. The famous art school Penland School of Crafts is just 13 miles east. About 10 miles east of downtown is the energyXchange with artist studios powered by landfill gas. Both are have galleries open most days. The Parkway Playhouse in Burnsville is a small professional theatre with shows from April through December. Yancey County (where Burnsville is located) is full of old and new Agri-Tourism experiences. Visit local farmers markets and farms to purchase fresh produce of the season & delicious homemade treats. And in late November and December, cut your own mountain grown Christmas tree. The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway is 19 miles away, via NC Highway 80 south. Go five miles north to Crabtree Falls and 11 miles south to the entrance of Mt. Mitchell State Park. The great village of Spruce Pine is just 14 miles east on US 19. Burnsville is about 35 miles northeast of Asheville. It's an easy drive (45 minutes) up I-26 West toward Tennessee. Take exit 9 onto Highway 19 East and go about 16 miles.
  • We very much enjoyed our weekend in the treehouse. We stayed for a weekend in March. Plenty of ways to keep the accommodations warm. The grocery store, less than a 15 minute drive ( with a Starbucks.... bonus) was great! We cooked dinner, kitchen has all your basics to prepare meals. Firewood, plenty of it!! The fire pit has market lighting..... there’s a hot tub.... perfect on cold nights!! Communication was extremely timely. If “ glamping” is your thing.... and looking for a cool, unique, relaxing, quiet getaway... and pet friendly..... you found it!!

    Leigh2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a quiet getaway. Lots of hikes and places to see within a short driving distance as well. Kitchen is very nice for those who want to cook.

  • Very nice

    Randall2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We got everything that we had expected at the Tree House. It was very private and had great amenities. The driveway would probably be an issue if it was raining and we didn’t have 4 wheel drive. But was not a hard walk from the bottom if needed. The only down side was the toilet, it didn’t smell bad but it had a noticeable “port-a-potty” smell. I still would give it 5 stars because again, we knew what to expect. It was a very rustic tree house and al together was an experience worth the price we paid.

    Bryant2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent get away. Loved the privacy and set up!!

    Diane2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy rustic treehouse was a perfect 2 day getaway. Fire pit was great way to enjoy listening to the creek. WiFi did not always work because it was rainy and cloudy most of our stay but sure enough there a few good DVDs to watch! There is not much hiking or trails on the property but plenty of perfect little places to just sit and enjoy the ambience. We were able to adjust to the toilet but took a little getting use to. We loved all the little touches like a bottle of wine waiting when we arrived. Plenty of cooking utensils and cookware to make a meal. Coffee pot, dishwasher, washer and dryer are great amenities. We especially loved how secluded this tiny gem in the woods was and very quite. Thank you for such a wonderful stay as we truly enjoyed every minute of it!!

    Tami2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at the treehouse on a Friday afternoon and stayed two nights. We were definitely thankful to have a Jeep with 4WD to get up the driveway to the treehouse - it’s pretty steep and rocky but with 4WD you should have no problems! We walked in to a bottle of wine and goody bag with a few snacks which was a really thoughtful touch! After unpacking, we drove up to Ingles which isn’t far at all - I think it took us about 10-15 minutes to get there from the house. We cooked all of our meals at the treehouse - the kitchen is equipped with all of the cooking necessities! We spent almost the entire Saturday by the fire pit which our 2 dogs also loved! We also made a few trips to the hot tub which was so peaceful and relaxing! The only two things that could be improved to make this place more comfortable is the stairs going up to the main bedroom (they’re very difficult to walk on because they’re not super stable and consistent and there’s no railing on the right hand side) and the composting toilet which was a little stinky but it did help to keep the bathroom door shut! Overall, we had an amazing weekend and were amazed by how beautiful the treehouse, the property, and the creek/nature surrounding were. Such an enchanted piece of property!!

  • First time using this place it was the bomb.com

    Donald2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an outstanding little treasure - simply perfect for two people. The roaring stream next to the cabin is unreal! The location is spectacular (so close to the BR Parkway and Mt. Mitchell), and David is an excellent host. And the place was super clean!

    Jenny2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Sit back on the porch and grill a trout that you caught up the road. Listen to the creeks running water and lose yourself in the mountains! Enjoy the amazing views and the fresh mountain air.

  • Book this cabin while you can, you won’t regret it. The cabin itself is a small cabin, it has a bed and small kitchen, but it’s exactly what you need. The cabin is extremely clean, and there’s covered parking which is a huge plus, and the gas grill on the porch on the creek is amazing. The location is perfect, especially being so close to mount Mitchell and Marion. As far as the host (Dave) he was super nice, his dogs were super kind and he is great about responding and hospitality. A few things happened that were out of his control and he did whatever he could to help us in our stay. Overall it was a great experience and we can’t wait to go back!

    Caleb2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just go ahead and click book, you won’t regret it! The drive up to the cabin is beautiful. There’s a few tight curves, but not bad at all! Follow David’s directions and it’ll lead you straight to the cabin. You will not have cell service. The cabin has WiFi and works perfectly fine. It is also pet friendly which is a HUGE plus! You may think, ugh pet friendly it’s going to smell like a dirty dog...........you would have no idea that it was a pet friendly cabin. It smells really good and it is super clean! The creek is literally 5 steps from the front door. It is the most peaceful sound to fall asleep to at night and wake up to in the morning. David is an awesome host; he messaged us during our stay to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything and responds back pretty quick. We arrived late and he had the lights on and heat on for us. He has 4 dogs of his own and they are the sweetest babies! Love them if you get the chance! The cabin is perfectly placed between Asheville and Boone; and you get the winding roads in between if you’re into that kind of thing. Book the cabin, enjoy the creek, love the dogs.

    Shelbi2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean cabin. Great area. Secluded but very close to Asheville, wine vineyards, cute little towns, and beautiful hiking. David was an awesome host and very helpful and super hospitable. It was a perfect “tiny home” for my husband and I to stay in. Thank you so much for this peaceful and relaxing vacation!

    Kayla2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • clean quiet place in the woods, sounds of the creek while you sit on the deck, everything you need to overnight while you enjoy the surrounding area

    Jeff2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • David’s cabin made our trip to North Carolina memorable- it’s nestled peacefully in the mountains adjacent to a stream. Definitely a great place to escape and spend some time in nature. Would recommend to anyone looking for a calm and beautiful place to stay! Would love to come back.

A great place to escape.Turn down a private road & check in to the handmade modern tiny house tucked away amongst the trees with direct water access to the river with a short paddle to Lake James. An electric fireplace for you to decompress after a day of hiking or just listening to nature. 20 min to Black Mountain or Grandfather Mountain, 36 miles to Asheville. 5 minute drive to Marion for whatever you need. leave the insanity. The house is very comfortable and modern with a cabin feel. It has a gas stove. Separate bedroom with nice queen mattress. Bedroom has tv with a dvd player, no cable. Perfect for adventure seekers who want to truly experience tiny living in the woods. A couch that folds down into a bed and a teeny tiny sleeping loft that has a firm full sized mattress. There are endless hikes and waterfalls to explore. You can boat on Lake James, paddle down the Catawba or build a fire and make some smores. There isn't wifi and cell service is spotty depending on your carrier. This is meant for folks trying to get away and detach. You will leave recharged. Two public boat docks within five miles and plenty of space to park your boat. Two sit top kayaks available for use at your own risk and direct river access. If you want to take a break from it all and connect with nature in a very unique, comfortable way, then this is it. This is a diy experience perfect for those who want to try tinyliving.
The river is peaceful to sit by with the firepits roaring. There are two firepits on the 1.6 acre property available for use. BYOW (bring your own wood or collect it). The town of Marion is 3.4 miles away with some great restaurants and local shops if you get sick of the woods.
  • Loved our stay in the peaceful setting of Emilys tiny house. Just what we needed. Close enough to town, but remote enough to truly disconnect if needed. Will be coming back!

Rustic but spacious cabin on eight acres of land, with creek and pond in the back.
Eight Acres is nestled on Sugar Mountain, just outside Newland, North Carolina. For a quiet getaway where you can relax in rustic comfort, wander among the old apple trees and explore nature's bounty, or drive minutes to explore antique stores, the majestic Grandfather Mountain or Linville Gorge, Eight Acres is a convenient respite from our busy lives. The cabin stands on the plot of Martin Banner's homestead, the original settler of Sugar Mountain. The current structure was built in 1989 out of pine and chestnut. Bottom floor has bedroom with two twin beds, bathroom with shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen, dining and living areas. Pull-out couch in living room can sleep another two people. Upstairs is bedroom with queen-size bed, full bath. Deck out back spans the entire length of the house. Cabin is on the "quiet" side of Sugar Mountain. On the other side is the ski resort, Banner Elk, and other cute towns worth discovering.
This is a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of society. Quiet, with just the bubbling trickle of water coming down the mountain. Pond in the back attracts frogs, dragonflies, and other native wildlife. There's a couple of small farms up the road, and a friendly chocolate lab that may wander by to say hi.
  • You won’t regret staying here! We left feeling so much peace.

  • Great location once you get there, the GPS took us to the wrong location at first because there are two roads with the same name. It was a very peaceful place and I enjoyed my stay. The fireplace was awesome, and it was nice to sit on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee while enjoying the sounds of birds and taking in the fresh mountain air.

  • Such a beautiful little barn right next to a creek! It was quiet and secluded. Our 3 year old had a blast playing with the rocks by the creek. The screened in porch is absolutely amazing! Its perfect size for our family of 4 with plenty of trails near by. Perfect for a long weekend away.

  • Spectacular. My favorite Airbnb I've stayed in. 10/10 would actually live there.

    Brett2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house exceeded all of our expectations. It was clean, all the amenities we needed were provided, and it was the perfect peaceful getaway. Be prepared to spend most of your time playing darts and ping pong on the porch!

    Justin2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house itself is beautiful. The decor inside is all very nice. The porch was a great place to get work done with the creek flowing right under you. The house is a little tricky to get to from the south (very windy dirt road) so I recommend going through Burnsville and coming back down 197. The local information given to you when you book is extensive and very helpful. We took a few restaurant and hiking recommendations that were all better than we hoped. Overall, this a great stay and I strongly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the area!

  • This house was an incredible place!! My partner and I stayed for a weekend away and were absolutely blown away by the naturak beauty, the great set up of the house and how kind and considerate Kerstin and John were. The wifi and the TV were excellent, and the shower was awesome, with great water pressure. Would absolutely stay here again and I'd encourage anybody else to do the same!!

  • John & Kerstin's cabin was wonderful! Being next to the creek was so nice- the sound of the water was so peaceful. It was also very clear that they took time to think through everything we may need in the kitchen, which was very helpful! Their communication was excellent- would definitely return!

  • The condo is easy to find and check in is a breeze with the door code. Ryan is an amazing host who is quick to respond and help make accommodations for you. The condo was clean and lives up to expectations made from photos and other reviews. I would love to visit this location again, perhaps when it is warmer to fully enjoy the balcony that overlooks the golf course. If you're looking for somewhere to stay while exploring some state and national parks to hike, this is the place for you as the Cherokee national forest, Grandfather State park, and Pigsah national forest are all within an hour drive of this location.

Aka “Trout lily cottage” is a place to disconnect from technology and re-connect with nature.
Update* Mattress toppers have been put on the beds and they are now very comfortable! The fireplace is electric and does not work! There is no WiFi and very poor cell service here (only Verizon works). It is a very steep drive way and a little tricky to find at night, but I will send you very clear instructions. It is an Entire 2 bedroom house with plenty of forest for walking! There is a full bath and a half bath attached to the master bedroom. This is time to disconnect from technology in an open spacious place clean environment! There is also a futon on the back screened in porch, that pulls out into a bed and is delightful to sleep on. FYI the back door , is tricky to lock/ unlock, you just have to pull the door up to do either!
A ten minute drive to the OOTD Gallery and Maples coffee shop, where they host weekly jams on Saturdays! 15 minute drive from Burnsville where you can find a grocery store and a small downtown with restaurants and shops, or Spruce Pine which also has a very cute downtown with many dining options.
  • It’s a nice space, very quiet, in beautiful woods surrounded by ridges. Kitchen, w& d, heat- all you need for comfort. No unnecessary frills added that jack up the price, which I appreciate. Great response time. Only drawback is the driveway but it is easy to park as far down it as necessary and walk.

    Jennifer2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s place was perfect for our last minute trip to the beautiful mountains of Burnsville! We enjoyed sitting on the futon on the back porch during thunderstorms and listening to the creeks and rain. The driveway was pretty difficult, but my Honda Accord made it up to the top. The oven didn’t have a knob, but that gave us a great excuse to go get brunch and see the town in the daytime. Burnsville is gorgeous, and we would stay here again!

    Taylor2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a quiet get away to rest and recharge from the craziness of life. Far enough away from the main road but close enough that you can venture out if you want to.

    Elizabeth2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodation for someone wanting to spend a short time on a rural setting

    Sergiu2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This house was perfect for me and friends to have a getaway weekend. It’s small but very spacious and the rooms are bigger than expected. Julia suggested restaurants for us and also gave exact directions to the house. I hope to be staying here again in the future!!

    Jenna2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect! The backyard leads up to beautiful trails, also only 30ish minutes to one of the most isolated peaks on the Appalachian trail, Mt. Mitchell. Julia gave perfect directions and was very kind about checking in a little early.

    Mitchell2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great experience. I have never used Airbnb but this was an awesome house and we all enjoyed it.

    Tim2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Julia’s cabin is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a nice, quiet mountain retreat! It’s in a great spot nestled in the mountains close to plenty of trails and waterfalls. Crabtree Falls was one of our favorites, totally worth checking out! The bed was super comfortable and they are plenty of extra blankets. Our favorite part was the back porch, the futon is the best place to read a book and listen to nature. As for the driveway, it seems intimidating when you first go up but after the first time you get the hang of it. I was in a Toyota Camry and had no issues. Me and my boyfriend already miss the place! Can’t wait for our next trip!

Parking is on the left just before the Welcome Guest sign. We are on 1.5 acres up the hill from the main road. There are a lot of trees, hence the name House in the Woods. Follow the path to the guests entrance, which is down a slight incline. Path is uneven so please be careful. Guests have their own patio with a gas grill and rocking chairs to relax maybe have your coffee in the morning. A picnic table and fire pit will be available soon. The apartment is cozy and has a space heater if it gets a little chilly. You can sit in the living area and look out the 3 big windows and watch birds, deer, and other flora and fauna. Penland School of Crafts is only 15 minutes away. Blue Ridge Parkway is 4 miles away and is a wonderful way to see the beauty of North Carolina. There are lots of places to explore on your way south to Asheville where the Biltmore is and so many other amazing places or go north towards Boone and see where Daniel Boone lived. Do you like hiking? Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Linville falls, gorge and cavern, Roan Mountain and Crabtree falls to name a few, are great for hiking. There are other fun things to do within an hour away skiing, snow tubing, zip lining, kayaking,... There are breweries, wineries and a few distilleries within an hour if you are interested. For more things to do and see check out website: romanticasheville.com
We are right up the hill from the main road. The Golf Course is just down the road as is Walmart, Ingles and other shops and restaurants that are within minutes from us. Downtown Spruce Pine is quaint and has some nice shops and restaurants. Little Switzerland is up the road, and has a wonderful cafe and Emerald mining is down the road as well. Blue Ridge Parkway is within 10 minutes. There are a couple of mines that you can check out only a few minutes from here. There is a resident dog, who is very friendly, that is outside most of the time and an indoor cat. We have a information available on many of the attractions and restaurants.

  • Great location and wonderful hosts. 2nd time staying and really appreciate Carol. Everything you need (and more) is there. Very quiet and comfortable.

    Jen2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a very hospitable hostess and the accommodations very pleasant. We would visit again soon if time permits.

    Jonathan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place is perfectly located for mountain getaway's and adventures. We had easy access to Banner Elk, Boone, Little Switzerland, and surrounding areas. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with dishes (for 4), glasses, pots/pans, utensils, etc and the bathroom has most items you would need for an extended stay. We were welcomed with extra snacks and food in the fridge in case we did not make it to the store before arriving. My daughter loved the cheetos and doritos! We loved being able to bring our dog and having couch covers available. My only surprise was how close we were to the living area upstairs and how much our dog could hear them (and ultimately bark at their dog but that is completely on our pup!). Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and open to us reaching out for anything we might need. We would definitely stay here again!

    Meredith2019-11-29T00:00:00Z

  • Where do I even begin!? Carol and David were probably the best hosts of all my Airbnb experiences. They were such pleasant people. The pictures do the place no justice. It’s very spacious and comfortable. Food and groceries are within a 5 minute driving distance for convenience. There’s so much to see and do in nearby towns, you will never run out of options. I would definitely stay again in the future!

This cozy little cabin is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and seekers of solitude in Nature. It's very bare bones, no electric, no water, you provide your own bedding for the queen mattress. Its not for everyone, but its a beautifully secluded spot. The road up is very bumpy and can only be accessed with 4WD, otherwise its a 5-8 minute uphill walk. All guests are welcome to use the bathroom, shower and wifi down at the communal music house here.
  • Jared was amazing! The nights were cold and a cabin with a wood-burning stove was open, Jared was welcoming and let us stay there. It had a gorgeous view of the stars and kept us warm and comfortable. We loved our stay and would highly recommend Jared's place! The land was beautiful, the town was gorgeous, and our trip was fantastic!

    Lexi2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was so cool it was like haunted or some thing I had that spooky feel coming from Vermont just being in North Carolina was really neat and accommodations were perfect for me to take my own little mini adventures and work through my stuff getting my work done and traveling can be hard the space made it easy

    Christine Marie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This property is gorgeous. Hands down the best place I’ve stayed in the northern part of the pisgah. Jared was gracious enough to let me stay in another cabin that has a wood stove since it was going to be so cold. The cabin I was in, the cabin in the pictures above, and the campsite were all incredible and would be amazing places to stay (I hiked around the property to see the views).

    Ryan2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Jared was a great host. He offered us the cabin with the stove heater since the weekend was so cold, which was great. There was tons of space for my pups to run and explore which was a great change from our city living. I do wish I had stocked up on wood when we first got there since it rained the second day, highly recommend doing that. I don't have 4WD and parked just past the main house. I will say I had to take a break or two walking up to the cabin with my gear, so pack accordingly. Will definitely be back again!

    Lindsey2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here was amazing! Absolutely gorgeous and wonderful people to top! A truly unique, peacefully and adventurous place! I will definitely ve coming back!

    Lea2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really special stay in Jared’s cabin. We were booked to stay in a small cabin with one bed, but being that it was one of the coldest nights, Jared upgraded us free of charge to a bigger cabin with a bed and a loft and a wood burning stove. We were welcome to help ourselves to the wood on the property and we kept toasty all night long. The cabin is rustic, a work in progress. There is no electricity in the cabin, but with lots of candles and the wood stove going, it made for a really special experience. Everyone on the property and main house was friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a quiet, earthy getaway this is the place. I hope to return again.

    Alia2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jared’s place was just as described. Loved the paintings inside the cabin. Was easy to get too and such a beautiful view.

    Crystal2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is so cute and relaxing! We had an amazing time during our weekend here. The cabin was clean and much warmer than expected! However, I will say that the 5-10 minute walk mentioned in the ad is no joke when you are carrying camping gear haha. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will definitely be back :)

  • This place was amazing and cute. The inside look is very artsy and well placed. I had a little adventure finding the keys when I arrived at night but the host replied quickly with some guidance. There is a spacious parking space at the rear of the house with a door to the house. The rooms and beds are spacious and the house was clean. The house is set up in case you just want to enjoy the winter mountain weather: they have just about everything you need ( cookware, spices, cutlery, cleaning materials, towels and some more). The TVs are set up with Chromecast so be ready with Netflix and such to play your favorite shows. We were worried about food options and we were able to cook breakfast without a hitch. I will say the local recommended coffee shop has amazing coffee and bagels. Las Cruces restaurant was awesome and if you like spicy try their spiciest salsa. Wow! The locals are friendly and even though at first you may think there is not much, it is a great small town with great food and close to mountain outings. Clean, nice and quick response I would say. I would stay here again any time. Thanks!

  • This cozy, yet completely updated 2 bedroom bungalow was a perfect retreat for our family while staying in Spruce Pine for a holiday weekend. The inside of the house was in top condition and we had everything we needed in the kitchen! If you are looking for a place to get away, this is it!

It was a cold weekend when we were there and the gas fireplace kept us plenty warm. The view of Celo knob is outstanding as well. We would definitely recommend staying there.

We only stayed a night, but was much cozier than a hotel, and would definitely stay longer for future trips. Carolyn had great communication with us, and responded to our messages promptly. • Great getaway! Close enough to the ski resort but far enough away to unplug. Would definitely stay again in the future!

    LeAnn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Allen’s place what pretty much what I expected. The pictures are accurate. It was a simple place to stay that was a good value for the price. It is old but has everything you need. The shower was hot and the bed was really comfortable. We brought our own blankets and sheets which was helpful because it got very cold at night. The location is great - about 20 minutes from Sugar Mountain skiing. The map is not accurate so it can be a bit difficult to find. Allen did have a helpful sign which was great once we were on the right road. If you are looking for a place to cook and be protected from the elements this is sufficient.

You'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but it's only a 10 minute drive to the town of Spruce Pine, or the Blue Ridge Parkway or Linville Falls. TVR-15 mins
Included is: Picnic table, Propane stove and lantern, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, large cooking grate for use on fire ring provided along with charcoal grill. Firewood available onsite. Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, blankets, towels, etc.
It may appear that we are “in the middle of nowhere” but there are convenience stores and gas stations just 6 minutes down the road. Restaurants and a grocery store are 10-20 minutes and Walmart is 15 minutes away. The Blue Ridge Parkway and many places to explore are close by too.
  • Jeff and Donna were great hosts! Very quick responses to questions before my trip. I really enjoyed camping without having to bring everything and a hot shower after hiking was very nice! The campsite is close to Linville Falls and other amazing trails.

This listing is not for everyone, but perfect for some, please read the details about the space before booking. This listing is all about the site and the view, not the bus. The bus is old, the door doesn't fully close, theres no electric/ac, just a table, desk and a mattress. It's really just there for added privacy/shelter. Its private, there's a fire-pit and a picnic table. You can use the bathroom/shower/wifi after a short walk down to the main house here at the music/arts retreat.
Below are some things to consider to make sure its still a good fit, the last thing I want is anyone to come here and have any sort of negative experience. Potential Downsides: No Electricity No Heat/AC No Firewood No Linens/bedding Bus is very rustic. outdoorsy folk don't mind it, but its not at all nice on the inside, its a super old and it shows. The longterm plans are to finish out the inside, but thats at least a few years down the list. As for now it serves to make the site even more private and as an effective shelter. Potential for mice in the bus. Since the door cannot fully close I cannot guarantee a mouse will not come in, especially if you bring food in. Now for the Positives! A one of a kind campsite. A firepit Epic view Shelter from rain Mattress and pillows An extra tent that you can set up and a cot stored under the bus. Wi-fi, bathroom/shower, electricity, kitchen, instruments and musicians a short walk away. Hiking on the land A small waterfall here on the property that you can stand under for a rejuvenating rush of cold mountain water.
  • This place is awesome. The view is ridiculous for the price and the common area is a great place to clean up, get work done, or meet new people. I cannot wait to come back!

Situated on the edge of the Linville Gorge, we are 1 mile from the Pisgah National Forest and 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The perfect location for outdoor enthusiasts, weekend warriors or book nerds. Grab a picnic and hike to a secluded river spot, road bike "The Snake" to Little Switzerland, mountain bike some of the sweetest, technical descents, trail run for hours without seeing another soul, or just pour a glass of wine and finally finish that James Patterson book.
Cozy, private apartment with deck overlooking babbling brook. Mini kitchenette with microwave, Keurig, toaster oven and small refrigerator/freezer. Roku smart television with direct TV. Excellent WiFi.
The only neighborhood on the Linville Gorge! We have a community heated pool (seasonal ) tennis courts, lending library and playground.
  • This place is amazing! So picturesque, and the babbling brook is something out of a dream. The place is a little small, but it was perfect for my spouse and I. We have verizon and there was little to no service out there, but when you're staying in a cute cabin in the mountains, it doesn't matter all that much!

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This space was just perfect for our needs! The location is serene and quaint. The quality of the bed linens were an added bonus! The weather did not allow for us to get out and explore the nature elements as we would have liked, but we’re looking forward to another chance in the future to really maximize our vacation!

If you are looking for a cute cabin full of rustic charm, then you found it at Nita's Rustic Cabin! Located in a rural mountain area close to Plumtree, NC, and the Yellow Mtn AT trail. Trout fishing on property. Best suited for couples and older children due to some of the the rustic features of this home not being safe for small children. Small pets under 30lbs okay. 30 mins from Grandfather Mtn. Guests must provide own linens, and be comfortable navigating a dirt drive.
The stairs to the loft bedroom are pull-down, so you must be comfortable with navigating them. There is a double size, pull-out sofa in the living area. AC is not available, but the cabin sits in a very shaded, cool area with fans throughout.
Although the cabin itself cannot be seen by surrounding homes, and vice versa - it is within walking distance to other homes. It is very private.
  • If you like a quaint, step back in time, in a lovely location, then this cabin is for you. Nice to be off the grid!

    Janet2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Nita's Rustic cabin! Nita is a great host and communicates accurately what she offers. It is a good value. Be advised that it is not for everyone - the cabin is aptly named rustic. It is in a very beautiful area of NC - and it is very rural. Finding it at night can be a challenge - but it is well marked with signage.

    Beth2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Like others, we had a hard time finding the entrance in the dark. You pass through Nita's property to get to the cabin, and we were unable to get our Prius up the final hill. Fortunately, Nita let us park at the base of the hill. The cabin itself was charming, cozy, and perfect for two of us and our dog. We particularly enjoyed the fire area and the porch (which stays quite dry even during heavy rain).

    Sid2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anita’s cabin is definitely in the rustic category, but if you’re looking for a place to unplug that’s not too far from fantastic hiking and Boone then this is the perfect spot for you. We enjoyed it so much that we cancelled our Saturday trip to Asheville so that we could just hang around the cabin with a fire.

    Sarah2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic but beautiful. Loved it. Exactly as described. Daughter loved playing Pooh sticks on the river bridge.

    Barb2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay!

    Joey2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had the most amazing getaway! We were totally of the grid because our phones (at&t) didn’t have any service the whole time we were there and there is no WiFi. We loved it thought it helped us unwind and not have to worry about anything else! We did pass the drive way once but then we saw the sign out front. The cabin itself is exactly what it is in the pictures. At night we were either gathered around the fire or watching tv. Overall it was a very relaxing stay!

    Philip2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect. It was exceptionally clean, very comfortable, and offered a stay which was outpaced only by the company of Nita herself. She took time out of her day to tell me about local places and attractions, gave me advice on where to hike and attain the best views, and was simply a charming hostess. My vacation was greatly improved by her company and kindness. Two thumbs up for Nita.

  • What a cute, little loft! My boyfriend and I loved our stay here. It was located in a great part of town, close enough to the mountains, downtown area, Asheville, and local vineyards. Just be sure to bring extra blankets in the winter time :)

    Grace2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cute little space in the middle of the mountains. If you’re staying here in the winter make sure to bring blankets! However, there was a heater that produced plenty of heat. Simple but very homey with so many cute little touches that gave a whimsical feel!

    Erin2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute and stylish loft! The space is perfectly located to amazing hiking along the blue ridge parkway!! Communication with host was fantastic! Hope to stay here again!

  • Jamie’s place is a great if your looking to stay indoors with small details that make you feel like you’re camping, great way to disconnect from tv/ social media and bond with friends or your partner although WiFi is still provided. The deck is absolutely beautiful at night, you can sit and watch the stars or build a small fire with cooking utilities provided for you. The place is private and our dogs were safe and had a great time. If outdoors gets a chilly you are provided with two small heaters that do the job. The walk to the bathroom is not far at all, but it can be quite difficult in the middle of the night if cold/mobility issues. Over all place is described exactly how it is, wonderful stay, great hospitality and beautiful touches inside. 100 percent would stay and recommend this place.

    Arianna2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! Very comfortable and super cute! We ran into Jamie a few times and she was super sweet and welcoming. Everything is as described in the post- Jamie provides EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay. I was skeptical abt the bed bc the other reviews said it was like sleeping on the floor but it was not at all. It was firm but definitely comfortable. We did not get a chance to use the outdoor kitchen because it rained while we were there but we took advantage of everything else and we had an amazing time! The perfect getaway to disconnect and be one with nature! We would definitely book again!

  • Jacuzzi tub, incredible views, amazing hosts, delicious biscuits and a good deep rest. This was our experience staying in the Smokey Mountains with Sue. The last night of our honeymoon was well spent with good, kind people, breathtaking visuals and at least 11 wild turkeys, which came up out of the forest to welcome us as we pulled up to the drive. :D We had a truly great stay and an authentic Smokey Mountains experience. Thank you, Sue, for the lovely private tour and all the special and sweet touches like those delicious eggy cheesy biscuits you left for us. Delicious! And a sweet and lovely thank you to your husband for the festive light bottles to help celebrate our special occasion. Best Wishes to you both <3

  • Sue and Tom were wonderful hosts. I was coming from the Bare Dark Sky observatory and Sue was still there to greet me even with my late arrival. She was extremely accommodating and the space was lovely. I was surprised by the breakfast biscuits that she left for us to have for breakfast. Definitely a great stay!

    Katie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was very nice and I booked for a last min business trip and she was very accommodating definitely would recommend.

    Andrew2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Sue was nothing but perfect. The pictures don't lie, the view really is that amazing, and the property even has a few short trails down to the beautiful river nearby. The apt itself was perfect for four people, with two queen beds in separate rooms. The bathtub was awesome after a long day of snowboarding! Everything was clean and there was even coffee for us in the morning.

Enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the Blue Ridge Mountains from this homey cottage on the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 334). At a cool elevation of 3,500 feet there is always a lovely cool breeze. Private in every way. Fine dining and bar within walking distance.
This space has the feel of a 1940's cottage in the woods. Refrigerator, kitchenette, electric fireplace. High in the tree tops, it feels like a tree house with plenty of privacy. The cottage is about 20 ft. above the ground. The living room, kitchen and bedroom are all together in one room. Approximately 350 square feet total. There is a drape that can be pulled to separate bedroom from the living room. Great place for a writer or artist to gain inspiration. Also, great for motorcycle couple because of carport to keep bikes out of the weather. We provide you with coffee and tea to start your day and a bowl of fresh fruit for a light breakfast. After the middle of April——there is within walking distance —fine dining and bar with live entertainment at the Chalet restaurant. There is shopping at the gift shops of the Switzerland Inn. Close to Mount Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain and Lake Lure. Fabulous hiking, rafting and great outdoor activities nearby or just sit and read a good book. Gas firepit on the deck for enjoying a cool evening outdoors. Occasionally deer and bear come through the yard but you are safe high above the ground. We also have a beautiful waterfall within hiking distance. Golfing can be found at nearby Grassy Creek Golf Course (6 miles away) or you can be at magnificent Mount Mitchell Golf Course in a 20 minute drive. Note: This listing is not handicapped accessible. This is a turn-key operation. We will make sure all is to your liking when you arrive and then you are on your own. Our home is such that we are not aware of your comings or goings. So, we are in easy contact via phone or text to help with any needs. We live in our home on the opposite side of the garage. Our neighborhood is private and quiet. Our neighbors are respectful of others and enjoy chatting if passed on the road. There is no public transit here. Ammenities: electric fireplace in living room, kitchenette, refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, microwave, toaster oven, deck with gas fireplace, fine dining and bar within walking distance, shower in bathroom, you can choose between having two twin beds or king. There is Walmart shopping 4 miles away, small pets permitted (let us know in advance). In an effort to be totally transparent...the shower and the toilet area of the cottage are considerably small. Take a good look at the pictures of the bathroom and be sure it will work for you. If you are a large person it may not be comfortable for you. Text me if you need more information regarding this.

  • Staying at this cottage was a lovely and peaceful experience! It is within short walking distance to the town and has a great view of the woods and mountains in the distance. We loved how clean and thoughtfully decorated every room was and especially enjoyed the electronic fireplace! Bob was so friendly and took the time to communicate any details or help if needed. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

  • Cozy, comfortable and clean! So happy that were able to stay here! A great overnight while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. Thanks for your hospitality!

  • There's something special about staying in a cabin in the woods. There's something even more special about staying in a cabin in the woods that doesn't have a TV. Bob's place was an incredibly quaint (but comfortable!) cottage that just felt like home. Although it was freezing outside, the faux-fire place & space heaters made it feel even cozier. We enjoyed the stars & the quiet at night and the beautiful light & complimentary fruits and tea in the morning. I would absolutely recommend this Airbnb for those looking for a romantic getaway or just some peace & quiet!

    Lauren2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny gem is the perfect getaway. We loved the location perched at the top of the mountain and hidden away down a beautiful little road. The apartment is cozy and feels like home. Bob added such warm touches like a warm fireplace on for our arrival, candles burning and a bucket of ice waiting for us. This is the perfect spot to unwind for awhile. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you!

    Stacy2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. Unique setting, host communicated well, wonderfully appointed, clean, cozy.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time at Bob's cottage in Little Switzerland. He was very accomidating and had great recommendations on local things to try. The location is beautiful and is some very steep and winding roads. I would advise against using a hybrid as we did, just as there wasn't enough power to get up some of the steeper hills reasonably. Next time we'll use the SUV.

    Megan2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfectly quaint cottage! Great for a getaway!

    Ashley2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage in Little Switzerland. The place is sparkling clean and so cozy. There is a great restaurant and pub in walking distance with an amazing view! Perfect stop on our trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Tucked into the edge of Pisgah National Forest, our hostel in the foothills of Yellow Mountain overlooks Toe River. It is centrally located to many activities such as hiking or skiing, craft beers, rafting, fishing (the Toe River is stocked), wineries or village shopping. With no neighboring yards it is quiet except for the river and the occasional cars on the road. We offer many opportunities to disconnect and relax.
Constructed in 1938, and freshly renovated and updated. It was originally the home of the longest sitting principal of Cranberry High School which is now registered as a historic structure. The river is less than thirty steps away, and an outdoor seating area with a fire pit is also available. The house sits at the bottom of elevation with access to the backcountry. Our focus is on the needs of our outdoors community whatever the chosen sport or skill level. We operate primarily as a hostel with shuttles and guide services.
We are minutes away from Linville Gorge, often called "The Grand Canyon of the East," and Grandfather Mountain Biosphere reserve. Nearby towns offer many unique experiences.

Intimate, cozy cabin ready to provide a base for your breathtaking adventures in the Linville and Wilson Gorges or to offer serene solitude for relaxation. Surrounded by nature and rhododendrons, you are a short walk to Louise’s Famous Rockhouse Restaurant and the area General Store for any needed supplies or beverages. Enjoy the deck hot tub overlooking the beautiful outdoors after an amazing hike to Linville Falls. Top NC skiing and Linville Winery are just a few miles away.
We would like to make you aware that in the case of the current world health situation, our cleaning team is taking special care to disinfect all touch surfaces prior to your arrival. We love this cabin because, while close to attractions and dining, you’re tucked away in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest and can enjoy nature’s finest pleasures. The living room is great for hanging out, and the outdoor patio is a perfect place for catching up and taking a dip in the hot tub. A stow-away cot provides sleeping for the 5th person, it is quite comfortable and sized to hold someone up to 6' tall. If you enjoy conversation, reading a book, adventure such as hiking, biking, skiing this cabin is perfect. While perfectly adequate for email, due to our remote location, our internet speed is a bit like a '76 Chevette.... it will get you where you're going albeit not very fast. Pro tip - toss a pair of bedroom shoes in for your walk to and from the hot tub on the cool hardwoods.
Our street is private so there is no through traffic. You are very close to great hiking and biking trails as well as area Linville and Newland amenities.
  • Beautiful cabin located near some of the best views in Pisgah National forest. Hosts were excellent with thoughtful touches throughout the cabin. Very clean!

  • Very clean place! The needed amenities were all there, plus more. The hot tub is always key for us, we don’t rent without a hot tub and this one was fantastic! Very private and quiet, just so peaceful in the middle of the woods. Fire pit was very cool, Bring lighter fluid if you want a fire - it always helps! Overall, it was an excellent birthday week and the hosts are very responsive!!

  • Kips place was awesome. We had the best time tubing and staying at this Airbnb was the cherry on top. We played games they had at the house with the fireplace on, made a delicious dinner, told spooky stories in the hot tub and made s’mores over the bonfire! It was perfect. Rooms were really comfortable and stayed dark in morning so we could sleep in. Would definitely stay here again! Don’t hesitate to book if you’re looking for a place in the area.

We have two hike-in cabins along the South Toe river. Each cabin has two beds and sleeps 4. Each site has a BBQ grill and covered picnic table and fire pit. There are two bathrooms with sinks and toilet that are located in an adjacent building but no showers. There is a small wood stove in each cabin, which creates a nice cozy and warm stay in the winter months. Dogs are welcome but need to be on a leash as there are a lot of deer in the area!
The cabins are located on 67 acres. Great place for groups as we also have tent sites available. Matt has wood split for wood stoves and fire pits. Wood has been covered and is dry. We will haul your gear for you and if someone needs a ride we can drive them down too on our ATV but otherwise it is a .5 mile hike in to the cabins.
We are located about 30 minutes from Mt Mitchell; The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 12 miles away; we have river access along the South and North Rivers
  • An amazing stay with amazing hosts. This is a cozy cabin on a beautiful river with a stove to keep you warm on chilly nights. Matt and Robin's space blew our expectations out of the water. Although the cabins are off the gird, they've built a bathroom with running water via a natural spring and have well-lit everything with solar panels. If you bring a Coleman stove and some face/baby wipes, you have all the creature comforts that you need. The property is fun to explore and very dog friendly. Between hiking around and exploring Asheville, we spent our nights in the cabin stargazing, reading, and playing poker using creamer packets as chips, and battleship using hand-drawn grids. We can't wait to come back to swim and kayak in the summer.

    Tasmin2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! The half-mile walk to the cabin is not bad at all, and the cabin is right in front of a river where you can fish. Both beds are in the same room with the wood stove in between. The wood stove kept us warm the whole night, and the cabin had more than enough wood to last us the whole weekend. There is no electricity, but the cabin and bathroom has solar powered lights that last up to 5 hours! Matt helped us bring our bags down to the cabin and unloaded for us as well. We had such an amazing time that we already planning a trip in the summer!

    June2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking to get away for awhile, this is the place. Absolutely beautiful. Matt helped me and my pup settle in and kept the fire going. Highly recommend hiking boots as you will walk a somewhat steep .5 mile walk to the cabin. But the seclusion is worth it. You’ll hear the river babbling down below. I will definitely be back in the summer to see the trees in full bloom! So pretty!!

    Alicia2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Matt is very kind and he answers all the questions you have about the area. The cabin and restroom are very clean. We had more than enough wood for fire pit and stove. We will come back again for sure. Thank you Matt and Robin.

    Ismet2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect for us during our stay. Matt and Robin were extremely kind and knowledgeable on the property history as well as the surrounding area. Matt helped us start a fire our first night and showed us some beautiful spots to explore during our stay. It was the perfect getaway from the busy city and we cannot wait to go back!

    Christina2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures do not give it justice, you must see for yourself! The host made sure our cabin was warm with a fire waiting for us and helped transport our gear to the cabin so we didn't have to carry it down. The cabin and bathroom areas are very clean and tidy. My son didn't want to leave and we already want to go back.

    Irene2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Matt met us as we parked our car in the lot. He assisted us with bringing our few belongings to the cabin. We took a short hike to the cabin and were immediately in awe. 2 cabins sat about 200 feet from each other. We saw the people who occupied the other one as we were walking up, then not again until we left. Cleverly placed to offer privacy, the extremely spacious cabin included 2 queen sized beds and a large dining table. The beds were fully furnished with clean linens (trust me, I thoroughly check every time). The cabin had several lighting options that were solar and battery operated. The wood stove was well kept and more than enough firewood was available to fuel both the stove and outside fireplace for several days. The view was amazing. The cabins are placed next to old railroad tracks, and nearly at the base of the hill. They offered some of the most amazing scenery I’ve ever seen in North Carolina. At night, you appreciate the seclusion as you get the fireplace going and a million stars all shine down on you. I know we just left, but we can’t wait to visit again.

    Jeremey2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don’t do the place justice. The cabin is so cozy. The water is beautiful, the trees were in full fall mode and we couldn’t have asked for more. The stars shine so bright at night. Matt was so accommodating and helpful, and full of fun facts about the history of the land. We had to leave early morning but definitely wish we had more time. We will be back!

And there are 6 separate beds! Ronald is really helpful and generous! *** wonderful VHS tapes collection ***

  • This was the perfect place to escape from reality for a while and spend some quality time with my loved ones in a beautiful, natural landscape. We were able to hike on the local mountains and along the river that's right behind the house. Ronald was very attentive and gave us lots of friendly suggestions on activities to do. The place was spotless and they went above and beyond in maintaining the cleanliness. It was affordable and was able to handle all my family without raising the price drastically. This was also probably my dogs favorite trip we've ever been on, she loved being able to run loose outside with us. I highly recommend this place, you will create lasting memories here.

    Tristan2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is really an amazing place to stay at, right by the river, we couldn't have got a better place than this. Ron has an amazing collection of movies to enjoy and you'd be really glad he doesn't have WiFi there. Perfect place to get away from the daily life and enjoy nature here

  • Great little place! My family of four (two small children) stayed here for three days when my husband's work brought him up to Spruce Pine. Spruce Pine is a lovely little town and the house is basically walking distance from the down town area. They've got everything you need to make a comfy stay in the mountains. One thing to note -- as any small town in the mountains, this little house is built into a hill and for anyone that's elderly or perhaps not quite sure on their feet, this might not be a great fit. My kids loved running up and down the stone steps, so it was no problem for us. Just note it's just not a drive-up-and-drop-everything-off sort of place. Other than that, everything was just as pictures and great! We'll be back!

We have a quiet camper with views of the beautiful Appalachian mountains in Nebo, North Carolina. We are located just 3.7 miles from Catawba boat landing and 5.3 miles to Lake James state park. Marion lake club and silver creek golf courses are a few miles away. 6.3 miles to Fonta Flora Brewery at whippoorwill farm and a short drive to either Asheville or Charlotte for a night out on the town. We are also close to Marion and Morganton which both have breweries and restaurants as well as shopping
Both the land that the yellow house is on, and our back lot the camper sits on, belong to us. Our property line does stop with the white fence and I guess you could imagine a line that extends all the way from the white fence back to the trees at the very back of the property. We ask all of our guests to please stay on our properties. If you have any questions just ask :) October-February can be a little chilly in the camper but we have central propane heat and two plug in heaters that look like fireplaces so it should be cozy even during colder months!

  • Great host, who is very responsive. The camper looked great online when reviewing it on Airbnb, but was even better in person. It was a great place for a getaway, it's so peaceful and quiet. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at LEEsure Lane. This was the perfect mountain getaway. The camper was spacious, clean, with all the amenities we needed. And in a beautiful, peaceful setting. The hosts were amazing! Their hospitality was like non other we have experienced before. They were quick to respond to our questions beforehand, and went out of their way to make this weekend extra special for our family. We can’t wait to come back!

  • Natalee was a great host. She was very quick to respond anytime I had a question about anything. The camper was great and had all the amenities we needed plus more. She left us a sweet welcome note and it really started my vacation off to a great start! I would 100% recommend Leesure Lane for your next mountain getaway. The only slight, and I mean very slight, downfall is the location. It’s about 30 minutes away from any good hikes so you have to drive just a tad to get to the good stuff. But other than that, I have no complaints. We will definitely be back!

  • Our family really enjoyed our stay at Leesure Lane. The property is just as described and the RV is clean and cozy. There was plenty of sleeping room for our party which was 2 adults and 3 children. Our kids loved to explore outside, watch movies, and play board games. We cooked a few meals and found the kitchen utensils well stocked. Natalee and her family are very sweet and hospitable people and offered area recommendations that we were happy we tried out. We would highly recommend this listing and hope to return for another visit!

  • The “welcome Lisa and guests” sign was absolutely adorable as was the basket of fruit on the table-my daughters loved the little desserts too! The camper was very clean and well stocked. I had some questions prior to arrival and Natalee was always very quick to respond! My daughters loved the bunk beds and the movie collection! The weekend went by too quick! Will be booking for our next trip to NC and I can’t stop raving about the camper and showing pictures to my friends and family! Thank you so much Natalee and family! You made my daughters’ first trip to North Carolina one to remember! ♥️

These small personal touches helped make our trip absolutely perfect. The camper at LEEsure Lane is nicely appointed, sparkling clean and convenient to everything. Our family can’t wait to visit again soon.

  • This Airbnb is top-notch and we deeply appreciate the details put into the RV. It had everything for us to feel comfortable like a home away from home and the DVDs, games, and tips for nearby outings were fantastic. Perfect host, outdoor space, nearby to a variety of activities, and would return in a heartbeat! We saw deer out in the field and our kids loved the whole experience, s'mores and all!
