“Great views of Pacific Beach. College-aged crowd with rowdy nights of drinking! Daytime has Happy Hour Specials and is more laid-back. Moderate Price”

“If I want quality bar food and a nice view, I tend to always go to The Local. There tends to be a smaller crowd which is nice to enjoy yourself and hear the people next to you as you casually dine and sip a nice brew. I highly recommend the calamari, it's SO good! ”

“Weekdays 10:30pm-close (usually between 12:30am-2am) also a “normal” HH from 6-8pm as well. 2 for 1 drink specials although I prefer to just share a mega margarita! 1/2 price wine bottles on Wednesdays! Get some Queso and I love the Mushroom & Brie Burger! Just a note... No alcohol on the patio after dark bc of the city noise ordinance. ”

“Incredible views! Great food and super cool atmosphere. It's about a 1.5 - 2 mile walk down the beach to Pacific Beach, but it is well worth it. Plus, a walk on the boardwalk or beach is never a bad thing!”

“Great mix of demographic so this is a safe choice if you’ve got a group as this is likely to please everyone. Wonderful food menu and great wine list to have dinner then stay as the restaurant transitions into a lively bar during the week and a quasi-dance club on the weekends. You’ve got a balanced mix of your locals from yuppy to more tranquil adult. Price point is a little higher than some of the surrounding spots so less college kids making the bar a little more efficient. I’ve stayed here all evening after a late lunch on several occasions... yes Im very serious! Ask for a table on the glass alongside the front bar (immediately in front of you and to your right when you enter the restaurant). This is the best spot to enjoy the ocean view, sunset, and if it’s a crowded night this area is best to watch the crowd outside waiting to get in as well as watch all the action inside without being too much in the thick of it. If you want to dance or be in the mix, choose a spot more towards the back bar near where the giant octopus is painted on the wall in the far right corner. ”
