  • Loved our stay at Margaret’s BnB! She has a quick response time and it was a breeze to check in. She Pointed us to some local restaurants, and provides a generous breakfast (extra charge- worth it). Excellent place to stay!!

  • A lovely place to stay when walking the Wicklow Way. Margaret picked us up from Tinahely which was superb as we were quite tired.

  • Margaret is a kind, charm and helpful proprietor. She takes in account our needs, even special requests. Magnificent breakfast!

    Felip2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location; most beautiful views. We enjoyed witnessing the milking (and the cows walking past the cottage!). Margaret was very helpful and recommended places in nearby town for dinner. Breakfast available for extra. Would definitely return!

    Emma2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret’s cottage is a beautiful place. Views are magical! Margaret is a very warm person and we felt very welcome. We could ask her anything and she was always there to help. There were fresh muffins and cake awaiting us in the cottage ;-) Walking route starts right at the premises. We can really recommend this cottage!

  • A lovely stay in the middle of Wicklow. Take advantage of the fire and the countryside.

    Adam2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spacious cottage within easy distance of the Wicklow mountains. Pádraig is a very attentive host, always on hand if needed, but not intrusive. We went in February, well out of season, but had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

    Colman2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Made our weekend very special Especially when we snowed in. Got out in the end Host very nice said we could stay as long as we needed

    Malene2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my boyfriend were looking for somewhere quiet for a weekend away and we stayed in Padraigs cottage for 2 days. We arrived at 7pm and Padraig had the fire already lighting for us. The cottage is beautiful and so clean. We cooked all our own meals there over the weekend with pots, pans and everything there to hand. We went for a lovely hike up the mountains on Sunday, came back, had dinner in front of the fire and watched a movie. It was just bliss away from the hectic week we both had. There was any amount of fire wood, also heating and WiFi. The bed was so comfy. Also Padraig messaged to make sure we were okay for everything. Would definitely go back and will highly recommend to all my friends 😊 5 stars 🖐

    Karen2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful wonderful host. Although the pictures are stunning you have to see this cottage to believe how beautiful it is. Pádraig made himself available to us the entire weekend and was kind enough to give us a lift to our venue. Fantastic local knowledge which we used for an unprompted (6hr) walk on our way home. While the location and the house our amazing, it's Pádraig who really makes it special. I can't thank him enough for his kindness over the weekend.

    Sandy2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • RathBan Cottage is a lovely place to escape to. Its clean, comfortable and spacious and has everything you need to make it a home away from home. Padraig (and his dad) are on hand and very helpful to answer any questions and give local tips for walking in the area. Its about 10min drive to Tinahely so great for all the walking routes in the area and food and drinks. Would definitely recommend the cottage and cant wait to visit again!

    Clare2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasure to stay in this cottage. Pádraig is very friendly and helped with all our questions and requests!

  • Great hideaway.... lovely welcome and great stove... Will defo be back...

    Leesa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas and Rita’s cottage is lovely and cosy and just what the doctor ordered. Surrounded by rolling pastures and beautiful scenery, it’s a great escape to the country while being less than an hour and a half from Dublin. We loved the stylish but cosy decor and the stove, which had been set for us before we arrived. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, and the beds are very comfortable. Towels and bed linens were all provided, and Thomas and Rita also left us plenty of firewood. Check in and out was very simple, with the keys in a lock box when we arrived, and there’s plenty of space for parking. A lovely trip, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

    Jenny2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely and cosy (a little smaller than it looks in the photos but very comfortable). Check in was really easy and our host Thomas was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Location is beautiful and very peaceful but you need to have a car as it is rural. Lots of lovely walks nearby, we spent a couple of hours in Tomnafinnoge Woods which is nearby. Great stay!

    Lucy2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, can't fault it at all.

    Joe2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful few days at Thomas and Rita's cottage. Fantastically located and has everything you need. Thank you!

    Sophie2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely stay at Thomas and Ritas - check in and out was really simple, Rita sent us on the details for the lock box. House is beautiful - we were provided with plenty of logs to keep the fire going which was needed as the weather was extremely cold!

    Mikey2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. We really enjoyed our stay. As a family with a dog and an 11month old baby the cottage was well equipped. Just a short drive from local pubs and shops with plenty to see and do. Rita & Thomas are exceptional hosts and are always available. Would definitely return.

  • Me and my family stayed in Rachel's house as we were attending a wedding in the nearby Ballybeg House. The house was perfectly located to the village of Tinahely and the wedding venue! The house itself was just gorgeous! Spotless clean, tastefully decorated and just a joy to stay in! I really didnt want to leave ! Rachel was very easy and quick to communicate with!

    Bella2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's house is stunning and the photos don't do it justice. The house is spacious, well appointed, comfortable beds and linens, nice towels, comfortable furniture and a gorgeous kitchen. The property and views are beautiful. Rachel is super quick to respond to any questions we had. I hesitate to write such a great review because I don't want this house to be rented next time I return to Ireland! But it really is absolutely perfect!

    Laura2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a excellent stay at Rachel's. The photos don't do this lovely home justice. Big roomy old parochial house I'm guessing ,complete with high ceilings and beautifully decorated very spacious for a relaxing stay. • This is a great place to stay and would love to go back some day. The hostess communicated well and responded to our questions nicely. The home is clean and lovely! The yard and surrounding countryside was beautiful. Also, the location is good. I do recommend this B&B!!

    Jean2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were attending a wedding down the road and this house was perfect for us. A few extra bits in the kitchen for breakfast help out a lot and the house has great spaces to chill and talk with friends with amazing views out front.

  • If you get the chance to stay at Rachel's beautiful property grab it with both hands. The description is accurate, but the photos didn't seem to do this stunning property justice. We were all wowed - it is truly a special place and perfect for a small group. The best we've stayed in by far and I'd classify us as airbnb veterans now !

  • We had a great time, the house is big and beautiful and Pat is helpful whenever one needs help

    Fabio2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is surrounded by lovely scenery and is ideally located for those walking the Wicklow Way. The accommodation itself has all the required amenities and was stocked with milk, cereals, fruit and biscuits which was a nice touch. Pat also offered to give us a lift into town so that we get food and drinks, which was much appreciated after a long day. Many thanks for hosting us!

    David2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We checked in relatively late and Pat met us and had stocked the kitchen with a nice amount of fresh fruit and basics for the next morning, which was a thoughtful touch. The house is located next to a cow and sheep grazing pasture which made it feel a bit like a "farm stay", which we enjoyed. This farm house is a bit rustic and the bathrooms are tight but we really enjoyed the location and the view of the valley from the front yard.

  • A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Daragh and Cara's place is really special. The cottage is the perfect blend of old and new. The kitchen and bathroom are brand new, yet fit so snugly into the quaint style of the cottage. The place is so beautifully decorated with lots of lovely small touches and the view is absolutely breath-taking The kitchen is well-equipped, we cooked all our meals here. The check-in process is very smooth and Cara & Daragh were extremely responsive to all our queries. The cottage is very well-situated with lots of walking and hiking trails nearby. We particularly loved Tomnafinnoge Woods which is within walking distance from the cottage. Thank you Cara & Daragh for a really special stay, we hope to be back soon!

  • Darragh and Cara's house lived up to everything you could ask for. It has been restored to the highest quality, the location is idilic and if you want an angelic house in a stunning part of the country to get away from the world or city smog then this is the house. The house has everything you need to feel at home, the WiFi is excellent and the log burner was great to cozy up in front of. We hope to return.

    Keith2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cottage over the holidays, Daragh and Cara had lovely festive touches dotted all around complete with a little goody basket and hand written card. It's is an absolutely stunning cottage, exceptionally clean, bright and super cozy. The yard out the back was great for our big dog and he had lots of fun 'trying' to chase the many pheasants that were wandering about. We were left information on local amenities, pubs and walking trails which was a great touch. After a long hike it was a treat to come home to the cozy stove and enjoy a glass of wine. We had a fabulous time and hope to visit again.

  • We spent one night at Sean's, we were well received. The room is just renovated, as well as the bathroom which is private. Shared kitchen. Breakfast is well stocked. I highly recommend !

  • Fantastic place, great hospitality - great beer!

    Ingrid2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I could not make it to the house because of troubles with my flight, but Sean was very kind and really helpful with our reservation and all the possibilities. In communication very clear. I would recommend this place if it comes to communication, kindness and helpfulness.

    Bettina2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Been coming to Shillelagh for many years and it's great that Sean is now using the space above the pub for accommodation. Finding somewhere to stay in the area can be a challenge. Homely, comfortable and surprisingly peaceful (it is above a pub after all) then I can imagine this place becoming very popular. Tea, coffee, breakfast and even scones and sandwich ingredients are thoughtful touches that demonstrate Wicklow hospitality. A nice firm but comfy bed was great and the ensuite has gels, shampoos and conditioners that are great for the AirBnB'er. I would not think twice about staying again even if we bought a larger group as Sean's plans for more making more rooms available is testament to his desire to keep the family pub going and the village will benefit greatly from it.

    Darragh2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a perfect girlie getaway at the lodge. 4 best friends stayed for 1 night but the hosts were flexible on check out time which meant we had a leisurely lunch before hitting the road. The lodge was spotless and Philomena even brought us in an extra bean bag. It was lovely, warm and cosy on a wet winter Irish Saturday night. We cooked dinner and chatted over a glass of wine. Such bliss! Would highly recommend this space for. Girlie weekend. We also went for a forest walk nearby on the Sunday gorgeous...:)

Cosy rustic cottage nestling in Moyne on the Wicklow Way. Stunning views of the majestic Lugnaquilla. Enjoy your own acre of the garden of Ireland. Log fires and that " far from the madding crowd" feeling. This cottage is special. Lovely vibe here and so peaceful. Sleep quality is profound.

  • Unbelievable cottage, right in the middle of nowhere, that was exactly what we’re looking for! Fantastic weekend there! We brought our babies (dogs) they loved as well! If you’re trying to escape from the city, that’s the right place to go! We’ll be back for sure. We loved!!! ❤️ Jenny & Leo

  • Beautiful cosy peaceful cottage in the Mountains, if you like that sort of thing, which you should.

    Patrick2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We got a very warm welcome at the cottage! Flo showed us around and explained everything, she even took time to let the children fill the bird feeders for in the garden. There is a big garden to explore for kids and to relax for us. The view is wonderful, to be admired as well from the garden as sitting inside at the kitchen table or in the living room. The cottage has a great atmosphere is nicely decorated and really comfortable for a family. With details that make you feel at home (e.g. luxury soap, candles, a refrigerator with some groceries but also a little bench at the entrance to take of your dirty walking boots;) The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. The bathroom is spacious with shower and bath. The living room is really a place to relax ("to chill" as the kids said). The cottage has quiet surroundings with cows as neighbors. We enjoyed the peace of the place. It took us at least 20 minutes by car to go to places of our interest. We walked in the woods near Avondale House and at Glendalough (Spinc 9 km, day walk for our family with 4 and 6 year old). Very beautiful! On a rainy day the kids enjoyed themselves at Tinahely Farm.

    Erik Jan2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We have been to Flos beautiful cottage a few times in the last two years. Our four dogs absolutely love the huge garden. So quiet here, lovely to switch off from the every day hustle and bustle.

  • #No 1 PET FRIENDLY ACCOMMODATION!! Host Flo warmingly greeted us on Day 1 of our 4-day stay at her charming 2 bedroom cottage. The house came with all amenities and equipment one could want; comfortable & cosy living accommodation, broadband, cable TV & Netflix!, all possible cookware & utensils and comfortable beds! We had our energetic JR terrier with us and she had oceans of space to explore in safety. Thoughtful Flo even had a bowl, towel and dog shampoo there for her! Great location to tour and view Co Wicklow. Lots of places we visited welcomed dogs and offered bowls of water while we dined al fresco. We shall return as 4 days wasn't enough to see all that Wicklow has to offer..

  • Huge space, very comfortable and ideal location for attending a wedding in Ballybeg House. 8 of us stayed but worth noting theres only two showers, one of which is en suite and was faulty (far too hot). I believe a plumber was due to fix it so shouldn't be an issue.

  • My family and I stayed at Cormac’s home recently for a wedding nearby. The house is lovely, beautiful location with stunning views over the Wicklow hills. The house was spacious and comfortable with great facilities and even books and games for the children. Cormac was a great host and responded quickly to any messages. Would definitely recommend!

    Ethan2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Cormac was an unbelievable host. The house was perfect with fresh flowers and pine branches in each room. We wish we coulda stayed longer so we asked if the next day was booked and it wasn’t so we stayed an extra day. My 5 kids had the time of their lives. What could be more fun than baby bunnies, kittens, Lamas, gorgeous Scottish Highland cattle and a dog named Hobs that reminded my kids of the dog we left back in the states. The house was perfect and enough space for everyone and even a few more after a few drinks. We had bought food for a afternoon bbq and asked Cormac if he had a grill and he turned up an hour later with a brand new grill. What a day, we invited Cormac to stay and we had a grand time

  • We stayed here during our Wicklow Way hiking. Location is perfect, at about 1 km from the Wicklow Way and 2 km from Dying Cow Pub. Sandra is extremely kindly and came to pick us up and to drop us off in the morning. The house is fully equipped and very comfortable. We strongly suggest it!

  • Beautiful cottage with great facilities. I only stayed one night, but I would definitely stay longer in the future. Sandra the host was great, very quick to respond to queries, and very helpful with any local advice. Provided pick up and drop off on the Wicklow Way which was above and beyond what was expected. And the baked treats were a most welcome pick me up after a long week of walking! :-)

Lakeen Cottage is in the grounds of the beautiful Lakeen House and benefits from sharing its grounds and garden. It is a brand new refurbishment to a 5-Star standard.
Lakeen Cottage has underfloor heating in addition to the stove. Your stay will be cosy and light filled whatever the season.
  • This house was perfect for our weekend getaway. Very private, amazing views, great amenities, and overall a lovely spot.

  • Beautiful little cottage on the grounds of Lakeen House. The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and is extremely clean. Anne was lovely and very responsive to any questions we had. We were attending a wedding at Ballybeg House and the cottage was around 15-20 minutes drive. Advise having a car if you stay here as it is very remote!

  • We had a wonderful time at Lackeen Cottage. The house was bigger and cosier than we expected, with a beautifully minimal interior and we loved exploring the stunning grounds with our dog. We’ll definitely be back!

  • Expect great hospitality and a beautiful location. It’s how it looks in the photos really, ask for good directions though as it is very secluded.

  • We visited Lakeen Cottage in August 2019. We arrived late on the Friday evening and were greeted by the wonderful Anne, who gave us a warm welcome and took the time to show us around the entire property (Cottage, House and Gardens). Lakeen Cottage is situated beside the large 'Manor' house and set in extensive gardens. It turned out to be everything we could have wanted; quiet location, cozy, extremely comfortable, modern well maintained fixtures and fittings and dog friendly too!!. The property offered isolation from the outside world (which was absolutely wonderful), but was also just a short drive from the village itself. There are also an abundance of places to visit within the local area if you wanted to explore further afield. Lakeen Cottage certainly is a hidden gem, and one we will be revisiting in the near future. Many thanks to Anne for making our stay so memorable.

  • The house was fantastic - great to get away from the bustle of the city without being too far from amenities. Nearby woods and other nature walks were a very welcome addition. Highly recommended for a relaxing retreat.

  • We came away for a relaxing weekend and could not have asked for a more perfect place. The cottage is located up a long private lane and at the back of the main house but this only makes it more isolated which was perfect for us. Also to say there was a group booked into the main house at the same time but the houses (and gardens) are separate in a way that we really would not have known they were there at all. Anne met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the whole place (a real treat) and we were then left to our own devices. The lawns outside the cottage are perfectly manicured there are stunning views at the front and side of the house where you can sit and watch clouds go by (or watch the rain fall while nice and cosy inside). We also had our dog with us and we loved the freedom of being able to come and go around the gardens and surrounding fields with no worry of him causing and issues. The cottage itself is definitely five-star and a real gem of a place tucked away out of sight. We will definitely be back again.

  • Great house for a large group . Very comfortable with everything you could possibly need during your stay . Would definitely recommend this property.

  • It's difficult to get a comfortable place for a large group but this worked perfectly. Everyone got a large room with ensuite and the communal areas were great. We were unable to use the outside areas because the weather made the decking slippery but that was our only disappointment. Would stay again.

    Aoife2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a family get together at the Stoops Guesthouse. The house was amazing. When looking through the pictures you can see how nice it is but when you get there you see how amazing it really is. So much space on a lovely piece of land with great views. Would highly recommend the house to anyone. We are already considering coming back here in the future!

    Enrico2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully located and very spacious house that can house and cater a big company of family/friends. Of course you have to arrange a schedule when showering time is there (it’s a house, not a hotel with huge boilers), but other then that, all is just very nice and cosy. The surroundings (for us) were just magnificent. The kitchen is well equipped (I’ve seen different). Just go and see!

  • This house is lovely - perfect for big groups of family or friends - stunning private location with plently to do locally and ideally placed for day trips all ove the south of Ireland. We have holidayed in Ireland (from the UK) for almost 10 years, always with lots of family and friends visiting and I would say Lakeen House is the best place we have stayed to date. We stayed 7 nights and loved every minute.
