Places to stay in Tulum

Places to stay in Tulum
This place is as peaceful as it gets. It is located in the high jungle between Tulum and Coba, 10 miles away from Tulum. This cabin is for those that want to get away from the crowds, enjoy nature, while still enjoying the comfort of a cozy place. Nowadays, instead of looking just for a nice place to stay, we seek experiences. In this cabin you will feel how it is to live in the middle of the jungle, interact with wildlife, enjoy the sounds of the silence and see things you've never seen before.
Building and living in this place has made me really be more conscious about our way of living, consuming and surrounding ourselves. You will be very thankful after this experience, even if you stay just for a few days. Believe me, you will no longer be the same. This space is the perfect spot for finding peace, reconnecting with yourself, connecting with nature, as well as with other people who just like you enjoy this type of environment. It is surrounded by jungle, you get the visit of a ton of different bird species, monkeys, owls, etc. It is located 10 miles from Tulum, so you can still enjoy the beautiful caribbean beaches, but without the hassle of the crowds or the noise. I highly recommend renting a car for being able to move more comfortably back and forth from the cabin to Tulum, as well as cenotes, ruins and other nice spots around. It is just silence and nature what you can listen to. You also get access to the astonishing cenotes close to the place, there are a ton. I'm sure you'll enjoy them.
The neighbourhood is a 100% secure place, as it is a gated community with a guard at the entrance 24 x 7. You are surrounded by nature, and behind the cabin there is a very nice path in the middle of the jungle to take nice morning or evening walks and enjoy the view of the hundreds of bird species and the exotic plants and nature.
  • The home was beyond our wildest expectations! It was beautiful and relaxing and in the jungle! The kitchen is terrific for cooking and we cooked every night. Tania was easy to get ahold of and was very quick in responding! We would love to rent this again but for longer next time!

  • We had a wonderful time at Tania's house in the jungle over the new year. It is a beautiful building with a lovely pool and great kitchen facilities. We loved going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the jungle, and found it very relaxing indeed. We followed Tania's instructions and had no problems with electricity etc... Be aware that there are no windows, just mesh screens, and also that the road off the main road to the jungle house is rough, we were ok in our rental but we took it super slow so as not to risk damaging it. It was absolutely worth it, though.

  • This is a magical place. You have the pleasure of a clean and beautiful place to sleep, relax, and cook, all while being in the complete wild. The pool is a always clean, and a great place to refresh. We saw monkeys, a snake, many birds, scorpions, many different species of insects. The architectural design of this place is stunning and thoughtful. This is a perfect place for someone who can tread lightly and is not afraid to see the beauty in nature. A tip: Be aware that you are in a wild place, and a loud voice will only scare away the chance to witness wildlife.

  • I arrived to Tulum by Ado bus. From there my friend and I took a taxi. 1 hr later we finally found the house. Our taxi driver could not find the house using the maps that were given to me by the host. Our driver was kind enough to pull over and ask a local for directions. I was not able to contact the host because she was visiting another country and failed to tell me her phone would not be working. It would have been nice to have a contact number in case guests need assistance. You'll definitely need a vehicle, but I would not recommend just any vehicle. Renting a truck or Jeep is the best option. The house was exactly how it looks in the pictures which was a great relief considering what we had to go through just to find it. We expected bugs, but it wasn't anything we couldn't live with. My mistake was not renting a car and since we were so isolated from town, my friend and I didn't spend much time here. I would still visit this place, but with much better planning.

  • Tania’s place is a true slice of paradise! I would recommend a stay here for anyone who wants to escape the busy streets and be surrounded by nature. We were warned of a possibility of scorpions and spiders, but we didn’t see any or have any issues with surrounding wildlife, so don’t let this be a too big a deterrent if you’re nervous about that sort of thing. All in all, amazing experience off the beaten path.

  • We love the jungle bungalow! It is a little out of the way but we appreciated the quietness after a long day of activity. It is a unique surrounding but not for those who prioritize extra amentities.

  • This cozy jungle cabin is exactly how it is described - a perfect, cozy, jungle cabin. The cabin features all of the luxuries of home (refrigerator, bathroom with cozy towels, nice bedding, wifi) yet, it's in the middle of the jungle so it gives you the opportunity to be immersed in nature and disconnect. My boyfriend and I spent 5 nights. It was perfect! Will recommend renting a car as the cabin is a bit of a drive into the main beach area of Tulum. The kitchen is perfect for cooking meals but just remember to use your judgement as you are in the jungle, so are animals. :)

If you're looking for a peaceful place, away from the crowds, in contact with nature, but still very comfortable, this is the place for you. It is located in the high jungle on km 18 of the road between Tulum and Coba. Close to town but still secluded enough for you to enjoy silence and get an experience of what it is to live in the jungle, sleep to the sounds of nature, live sustainably. Staying here will allow you to get in touch with wildlife, and will remind you of the very essence of life.
This cabin was built after having constructed this other one: https://www.airbnb.mx/rooms/9790711 And having people enjoy it very much. You can see the guest's comments in this other property, as this listing is new. Building and living in this place has made me really be more conscious about our way of living, consuming and surrounding ourselves. You will be very thankful after this experience, even if you stay just for a few days. Believe me, you will no longer be the same. • The place is beautiful, and we had a great stay and loved to just take it easy after exploring all day. I think it would be difficult to stay in this place and explore without a car, though. Bring or buy bug spray...there are lots of critters around- which was perfectly fine for us, but don’t stay here if you are squeamish about that sort of thing! Perfect for peaceful, quiet, eco- tourism.

    Josh2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The location is about 15 minutes from Tulum. It’s easy to get to several cenotes in the area. The check in was easy, and finding the location was simple as well. I searched for Ecoluum, and followed those directions. The environment was peaceful. At night, the bugs are loud, but waking up to the peacefulness of the jungle was pleasant. I enjoyed a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of tourists and it was overall a very nice stay.

    Natalie2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rent this secluded gem... it is insanely special. Just 15 mins away from it all so if you rent a car you can come and go easily although you may not want to leave. The space is a Mayan Palapa with a modern design flare, working wifi and a hammock indoors (which was great during mosquito hours). Everything including the fans work really well. The staff was helpful and friendly while getting us set up and then let us be. We will definitely return!

    Eryka2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so, so cool. It's not a super long trip into Tulum (also a very neat town to walk around) and has tons to do in the area. If you like camping, you will like this spot. If you are not a fan of camping and the outdoors, her place is probably not for you. The cabin was clean and well-stocked. At night, you can definitely hear the wildlife around you! We weren't sure our first night if it was animals or a person stomping around, but felt much more at ease the second night after looking up how many nocturnal species are in the area. We stayed for two days, and I feel like it was the perfect amount of time for the experience. We also stayed in November. The nights were very cool and enjoyable. Would stay again!

  • Tania has built the most beautiful, tranquil, and environmentally sustainable bungalows in the the midst of nature! It's a true gem of a place and a retreat of sorts that really takes you world away from the chaos that any city can bring. Off the beaten path and secluded but still close to a main road between Coba and Tulum city and the beaches, this location was perfect and really set the tome for a one of a kind experience not just your typical travel stay. Tania herself is an amazing host & talented yoga teacher amongst many other gifts she has to offer! I'm so please to have met her as she guided me in wonderful directions helping as I planned out my trip to Tulum! She's a special soul! You have everything you need in this luxury eco stay. The simplistic decor and the feeling of being one with nature is evident in the furnishings and style throughout. There is no one around so there is tons of privacy yet you're really part of your surrounding as you gaze out the windows. My favorite things inside the home were the hammock in the living room, the open floor plan and shower is beautiful, the tea light candles that gave the most romantic feel in the evenings, the fire pit which can be used in or outdoors, and of course the convenience of having a mini fridge, coffee maker, water, and basic dining dishes in my room made things even better. The kitchen is communal and it's close enough to walk over to yet far enough away that I wasn't bothered by others preparing meals. The swimming pool is also located over there and it was lovely to take a dip. Although I did meet some guests staying, the vibe is so respectful yet laid back and private that you don't feel bothered or smothered as everyone has their own space. My suggestions: I highly recommend renting a car. Definitely come prepared with food and snacks as you may not always want to leave to get meals as the road in isn't paved. PS... I did walk to the main entrance from my room and it only took about 10 minutes to walk if you are meeting someone or catching a taxi. Be prepared to relax in silence and reflect on how beautiful life is!

  • What an amazing place. The owners are extremely friendly and we definitely loved the dog. The place was super clean and completely unique. It is off the main party zone so it is quiet there. They had cold Coronas wait for us, an amazing shower with pressure and some breakfast items if we needed. A small store is located across the street to grab water, snacks or beers. They have bikes to borrow if needed and ample parking around.

  • Paradise on earth! Such a peaceful house. At the begging I thought that the neighborhood might seem dangerous but it isn’t at all! I was biking by myself during the day and evening and it was fine! Everyone is nice and smiles to you! It’s close to shops and restaurants as well !

    Martyna2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The tree hut was awesome! We had a little trouble actually finding it, but once we did, we settled in right away. We loved how private it was, and there were awesome little touches like cold beers in the fridge and coffee! Ikal (the dog) was so sweet and would sit outside of our door to keep us company. The shower was awesome, hot water and great water pressure! You are very near to Avenida Tulum for all the shops and restaurants, and then about 4 miles from the beaches which you can easily get to by riding their bikes! I will say there is a lot going on around the neighborhood so if you are a light sleeper, bring some ear plugs. I am, and I used them and slept wonderfully. Overall, it was a fun place to stay!

    Alyssa2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay at! Jenni and Carlos were very helpful with literally everything. We had a few questions about all kinds of things and they were happy to answer all of them, also when they had gone on a trip themselves and were thus not at the Casita, they were quick to reply to our messages. The place itself is really really beautiful! I would definitely consider booking it again on my next trip to Tulum. Inside the room they had also provided a map of Tulum as well as some information regarding things to do and daytrips you could go on in the area. On top of that, they also had provided water, some milk, cereals, and a couple of beers for us to enjoy which was really nice and more than we expected. Check-out was also super easy as they allowed us to stay inside the room until our bus would depart in the afternoon which made things a lot easier and more comfortable for us. Also being able to use the bikes they have available helped a lot so we definitely made use of them. Altogether we had a very good time and would recommend this place to anytime who is looking for a unique and cozy accommodation a little off the beaten paths in Tulum!

  • The tree house was a great and fun experience! We had trouble finding it but once we found it, it felt like a different hidden world. Everything is really uniquely designed at this place and all the small touches make you really feel at home. Highly recommend it! :)

  • This was a fantastic experience! I adored the seclusion. Being in town and on the beach in Tulum was busier and more mentally stimulating than I expected so I was really glad I had made the choice to balance it out with Tania's place. Tania and I never even saw even each other but her communication methods were highly accurate and clear, so I had everything I needed and understood every direction. The jungle is so precious. I have never seen so many butterflies! When I walked down the path to the pool/kitchen area they surrounded me like a disney movie! I did have to escort a few large grasshopper/cricket/locust creatures out of the cabin a few times in tupperwares, so if you are uncomfortable with accessing your primal side from time to time, this may not be for you. But if you want to be able to engage with nature, bask in it, marinade in it, while also having the comfortable balance of a luxurious bed, elegant shower, and enormous kitchen, this is a five star choice.

  • These fancy huts were perfect, we were even mummy enough to wake up to a family of monkeys playing in the early morning above our heads. I would recommend taking food to cook, once you arrive it would be so nice to stay and just relax for an entire day. Definitely need a car!

  • Great place to relax!

    Joshua2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Was a nice "glamping" experience. Was surprised at how secluded this property was located. The description would be more accurate to describe the property in Coba vs Tulum. Otherwise it is a picturesque, off the beaten path find.

    Carlos2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely majestic. We loved being in the middle of the jungle. Never have we slept so peacefully. The home is beautiful too. I highly recommend this place if you are adventurous.

    Sandra2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying here away from the hustle and bustle. It was quiet and relaxing. Got to see 4 or 5 monkeys, a racoon, a wild turkey, a wild boar and plenty of beautiful birds. Thank you for having us.

    Monique2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wow this place is super incredible!!!! We've never been to a cabin made of mostly wood where we could actually burn a fire within our room. The vibes were so lovely and tranquil. There are actually a couple of options at this location: You can either stay in cabins or tree tents...both are pretty amazing! Although we didn't sleep in the tents, if you are adventurous + love camping, this is probably a great experience. The cabins were so jungle luxurious with candles, fire bin, hot showers, beautiful wooden decorations, hammocks + more! The only reason I have given this place 4 stars because of a miscommunication around the check in process. It may be good to give the host a heads up when you are on your way to ensure your accommodations are ready. Enjoy your stay and have a wonderful time in Tulum and surrounding areas <3

    Aura2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Tania's cabin which was absolutely gorgeous and cosy. It is decorated and designed with great taste, cosy & luxurious. There are however a few things that would have been nice to know before our stay: - There are no real addresses in Tulum but on the Airbnb map, it is marked right next to the town center. However, you should know the "Grand Cenote" shown on the map is about half-way from Tulum Center to the cabin. It is about 20-minute drive to Tulum center and 30-minute drive to the beach but it remains a good location to drive to Coba, the cenotes, the ruins... - It is not just recommended to rent a car but you practically have to as there is a 5/10-minute drive on a very stoney road through the woods before reaching the cabin - The cabin is hard to find at night time as the forest is pitch black and the instructions weren't very clear (black key instead of red for example), we arrived at midnight and spent more than an hour finding the cabin because we couldn't see a thing, we tried to open the doors of the other two with guests staying in them! We think that for this kind of accommodation Tania should welcome the guests. - The Wi-Fi does not work in the cabin, there is a very very poor connexion. We lost approximately 3 hours in total trying to change our flight back and then checking-in by getting closer to the other cabin who have a good connexion. - The breakfast is not included as it says is the Airbnb description, but there is coffee and tea available. - There are no windows but only mosquito nets so it's a bit chilly at night but don't worry too much because the bed (super comfy) has a big duvet. We had a wonderful time and would have propably rented the cabin knowing all this information. Thank you again! Emma

  • Have you ever wanted an experience in the jungle while having a private lagoon ? You camed to the right place, zacil ha means clear water in Mayan and delivers exactly it, while having your hut like Robinson Crusoe you have still good presentation on the bathroom which comforts you and the king size bed to the special touch.

  • Our whole family absolutely loved this place and I would go back in a heartbeat. I loved the rustic look and feel of the cabanas: thatched roof, board walls and floors, and mosquito nets around the beds. Sleeping in there with the screened windows open, hearing all the magnificent sound of birds and insects, brought back many happy memories of summer camp. It also had everything we could have needed: TV with Netflix (we never turned it on), great wifi, fresh monogramed towels, and locally made Yucatan honey soaps and shampoos refreshed daily. Best of all was the porch with a hammock, rocking chair, and table and chairs. We could have sat all day out there. Both mornings we had coffee and breakfast delivered straight to our porch. Our kids could play outside while we lazed on the porch. Our housekeeper was really friendly and went above and beyond. One night our son was sick in bed and she cleaned everything up spotlessly and even tidied our things strewn around the cabin and folded the pajamas I had left on the bed. The restaurant was great and so very convenient. We loved having food brought to the porch or ordering a drink (though I found my mojito a little heavy on the liquor!) for the poolside. The staff were super friendly and allowed us to practice our very broken Spanish, which was really fun for us. The pools were excellent. The kids' shallow pool was perfect for our four- and six-year-olds, and there was a whole other deeper pool that we hardly used. I do wish that there had been a hot tub. There was a jacuzzi but we never got it to warm up. That would have been a really nice addition. And the cenote! We spent the entire last day of our vacation on the premises, mostly by the cenote. It's really beautiful and the atmosphere around it was so festive. Our sons loved swimming and exploring the small caves and especially challenging themselves to jump from the side and do the zip line. I was really surprised how many fish we saw when we used snorkel masks, too. Another high point were the fresh mangoes served up poolside. We had to check out really early--4am--and they accommodated that no problem. It was just a great place and I'm so glad we stayed here.

  • Secluded cabana. Comfortable and clean. Lovely hammock chair on the veranda. Near a small cenote and within taxi rides of other cenotes and Tulum. Ensure you check the timings with the staff for the kitchen and cenote as the receptionist for the cabanas gave us incorrect details.

    Anna2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • The setting of the accommodation is beautiful. We had a very good, relaxing, enjoyable stay in this serene place. The place is very clean, the room is cleaned every day. The cenote next to the house is a big plus. The Cenote is very beautiful. We can go there for free when we wish. We recommend Cabanas de Zacil-Ha near Tulum if you want to have a good time

    Lucie2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • These Cabañas were amazing. We rented 3 of them for the 3 couples in our group. They are a bit rustic and 4-5 miles from the main restaurants and shops of Tulum but that is exactly what we wanted. Cabañas were very clean and had everything we needed. There were also staff that lived on site in case we needed anything. The pool was open 24 hours but the cenote and bar close around 6pm. The weekend can be a little busy but Monday and Tuesday we almost had the whole place to ourselves. Communication was amazing and we will for sure come back.

  • This place was the greatest experience ever my kids absolutely loved it. Definitely coming back again

    Adriana2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabañas are rustic, yet very charming in the way you would expect in a natural setting. The grounds are well kept, and the pools cleaned daily. The Cenote is stunning and they even offer a zip line across for 10 pesos!!! There is Mayan art/statues scattered across the grounds. There is also a small bar and kitchen where you can purchase beer, beverages and fresh coconuts! There are two large pools with different sections, and the water was perfect for a hot summer day! We were surprised that we didn’t get any mosquito bites, and there were absolutely no bugs or ants in our cabin whatsoever (that’s a tough thing to accomplish in a jungle setting with fresh water around)! There is a coal BBQ grill for use, and we enjoyed cooking out under the stars with a cold beer. There were more locals than tourists and we pretty much had the hours of 5pm-9am to ourselves. There are a handful of more popular cenotes within walking distance, and there is a gas station/convenience store about 1 km away. This part is so important— our cabana did not have AC, BUT we were shocked at the cool night/morning temps in August. Sleeping was literally a breeze, and our overall experience was lovely.

  • Clean Stay, nice area, lots of nature! def. worth eating in the restaurant attached to the accommodation :) in the morning we had quite some noise, but we couldnt relate where it was coming from or what it was. There is no AC, but that didnt bother us at all! the fan is working perfectly and there is also a mobile fan you can use (2 fans). There was water for us in the room and everything was clean.

  • Cabana Fuego is just as the listing says. Great spot, just steps away from bike rentals, restaurants and bars. The host is wonderful and helped us a lot. The staff at the restaurant in the front are great! The location can be hard but it’s best to contact the host beforehand. Breakfast is included but it is very limited to toast and coffee. Highly recommend staying here if you’re going to Tulum!

  • Our stay at Ciel Rose was just amazing!!! From the beginning on: the communication, the hospitality, the location. Guillaume has been really helpful on any matters and he knows Tulum very well. We were taken really good care us which made us feel home rather than just in an AirBnB.

  • Very good cabin in a great location. Very close to lots of great bars and restaurants, easy to rent bikes nearby for easy transportation to the ruins and to town, and very affordable parking only a handful of meters away. This cabin is also right near some very excellent beaches to which you have easy access, and the grounds have a tower with great views of the area for amazing sunrises and sunsets. Hosts were easy to contact and had great info about Tulum!

  • Stayed here for one night. Realy quick response from the host who greeted us and let us check in early. It was just as expected. It's not glamorous but it's not advertised as glamorous! Very relaxed and friendly staff. Nice and clean room with a few nice touches like the vat of drinking water and the tub of water outside to wash the sand off your feet before you go in. Incredibly warm at night but we knew there was no a/c so you just have to put up with it! The sunset bar is a nice touch. Everything powered by solar power is a nice touch also. Amongst the cheapest accommodation along beach road. 2min walk to the nearest beach and a 5/10min bike ride (bike hire virtually next door) to south beach which is an impressive beach! Great tacos from matteo's next door as well!

    Ian2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay... people over the restaurant the next morning are just great!

    Abel2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Good: central location, comfortable bed, clean room, friendly & helpful hosts. The room is cozy & great if you plan to spend most days & nights out. It's in a busy neighborhood, so don't expect a tranquil & quiet vibe. Otherwise, it more than serves its purpose & I'd stay here again for sure!

In the middle of Tulum , not far from the center of town , there`s AEROLITO , a charming hide-out . Tucked into a lush tropical garden there are our individually decorated rooms : Casa del Arbol ( treehouse ), Rincon Precioso ( mayan style stone house ), Casa Alux ( original mayan cabin ). It is equipped wih a doublebed and a mosquitonet , a sofa that can be transformed into a bed , fans , sheets and towels . The private bathroom with a hot and cold watershower is outside the room, Mexico is a lifely country , so is Tulum . At AEROLITO you can enjoy an oasis away from the busy and noisy street . But please note that you can hear dogs , cocks , mexicans selling goods on the street or people having a party . Tulum is now a fast growing city , And its getting louder . The life in Mexico is outdoor , also the fiestas are in open spaces without walls or windows and so its dificult to keep the sounds apart . Every morning we prepare a delicious breakfast . Coffe or tea, fresh fruit and juice, natural yogurt and homemade granola , Bread and local honey , Also eggs and beans and hot sauces , always diferent in flavours and colours . Getting around You can easily reach the closest beach in a 20 minutes bikeride ( In AEROLITO we are renting bicycles to our guests for 50 Pesos per day ) Tulum offers many things to do , swimming in a cenote with cristalclear natural water , visiting an arqueological site , like Tulum , Coba or Muyil . snorkeling , diving , exploring . AEROLITO is just 4 squares to the mainroad of Tulum , where you can find many restaurants and bars , also the busstation and other public transportation . Note Sometimes I still can hear the waves of the ocean in a silent night in the low season . Tulum is a new city and it's growing steadily. More people are coming to this paradise, and so the noise level is growing as well . Mexico is a lively and noisy country , life happens often on the streets . Dogs are here to guard houses , the cocks cry early in the morning and party starts usually at 11 pm ending a 4 am . AEROLITO is a quiet oasis in the center , four blocks away from the main strip . It depends from where the wind blows , and where the moon is , noise comes from outside into this paradise . (Website hidden by Airbnb) !!! Earplugs !!!
  • We had a lovely time staying at Aerolito! The accommodations were exactly as described. The grounds were beautiful, as were the huts. The breakfasts Ariane made were absolutely delicious, and she had great advice and tips for my boyfriend and I. She is very hospitable and helped to make sure we had everything we needed. Aerolito is walking distance to all of the town - we walked to many cute restaurants and bars during our stay. She also has plenty of bikes. We rented bikes almost every day and rode to the beach (about 20 minutes). When you're back at Aerolito, there are some hammocks around the grounds to lounge in, and lots of lovely wildlife to take in. True, the bathroom is not attached to the hut, but it goes with the feel of staying in the jungle - it really didn't bother us at all. Each hut has their own private bathroom/shower to use. Also, she is correct in mentioning that it is loud in the neighborhood late at night. Especially so on weekends. But Ariane provides earplugs. I didn't need them, but the other guests who used them said they worked like a charm. Aerolito definitely feels like a little oasis in a small city neighborhood. I highly recommend it - we would definitely love to go back at some point! (side note: if you travel with a big family, It would be a great place to rent out all three huts and have the grounds to yourselves!)

  • My husband and I stayed at Casa Alux in July 2014, and we had a great experience! Ariane is a wonderful hostess. She made a point of sitting and having a conversation with us each morning at breakfast. She gave the best advice on local restaurants, and places worth sightseeing. The breakfasts she provided each morning were delicious--I absolutely loved the frijoles!! For those of you who just can't quite let go of technology while on vacation (as we are), her wifi is great--we were able to stream Netflix during our stay with no problems :) She also provides free unfiltered water for guests, which is such a great a rare perk - there's a water dispenser in the guest kitchen that you can use each day to fill your water bottles. The only con I had is that there wasn't any hot water in the shower. I don't know if this is a normal occurrence though. And most days it was so hot and humid that a cold shower was actually very refreshing, but I just thought it was worth mentioning. Overall we had a wonderful experience, and we will definitely stay with Ariane the next time we visit Tulum!

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Arianne's exotic property in Tulum. Arianne was an extremely helpful host & took the time each morning to make us a delicious breakfast! She was so pleasant to visit with throughout our stay and very knowledgable about Tulum and the history of the area. I was surprised by a hermit crab in the bathroom one night, but once I became aware of all the critters on the property, I welcomed them gladly! I highly recommend Arianne's property for anyone looking to stay town side in Tulum!

    Jaime2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Don't be a tourist in Tulum! Staying at Aerolito made us feel like locals in paradise. We stayed in this hut - cute and spacious! Ariane prepares really great home-y breakfast! And we love meeting other travelers at the breakfast table - it's like having a mini-family in Tulum. Speaking of which, Ariane would be that tia you never knew you had! She shows genuine care and concern for her guests, it's priceless :) Can't wait to be back! And watch out, cos Ariane has great plans for Aerolito!

    Jl2012-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our night at the Casa Alux, especially the breakfast! It's a nice oasis in the middle of the "real" Tulum - within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and street vendors in town. A place for travellers, not tourists! Thanks Ariane for providing a lovely accomodation for those on a budget.

    Mike2013-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Ariane! She has a wonderfully creative home, which she shares with her guests. She gave us great advice on the local area and the breakfast was ever so tasty. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. Perfecto!

  • Aerolito was the most perfect stay in Tulum, with the most beautiful host. Ariane was so helpful and kind. She showed us many places to go and took great care of us when we fell sick. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and with the surrounding palms and gardens it was so beautiful and so natural. We recommend anyone looking to stay in Tulum to stay at Aerolito. You will love it!

    Scott2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Ariane is a very helpful host. She made us delicious breakfast every morning and gave us maps and tips on where to go. The rooms were charming and comfortable.

There are 5 equipped cottages, swimming pool, barbecue grill and private gardens. Tastefully decorated & comfortable. Once you step out of the property, crossing the road and going a bit further down, you have the beach access. Many Restaurants, Bar's, Shops, Yoga-Center, are very close by. Some in walking distance, others within bicycles distance. Once you are on spot ; we will tell you our favorites places to go and share insider tips ;-) The entrance to the breathtaking Siaan Kan Biosphere is just around the corner! Tulum Ruins, Archeological Site is 15 min. bike ride. Downtown Tulum best by car or taxi or a nice bike ride (10 km)
  • Visa Silvestre was beautiful, comfortable and just as pictured! Audrey was also a fantastic host and very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean, comfy, modern place in Tulum and looking forward to going back as soon as possible!

    Jeremy2013-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our recent experience at vida silvestre was really nice. The villas are very spacious and comfortable and Laury and the other staff were also very helpful and kind. A previous review mentions that the villas are more like camping given that the entire building is open to the air but is still screened in. That's a really helpful review to just remember that you're in a tropical climate and it gets warm during the day and remains warm at night. However, there are fans to keep the breeze moving through the place. I'd definitely recommend staying here for a great location in Tulum!

    Katie2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to get away from everything. Right next to the spa and walking distance to shops and restaurants. So glad we stayed we will definitely be back

    Ana2017-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Vida Silvestre was better than expected. The location was perfect, just a little south of the congested are of Tulum Beach - but still within walking distance. The beach is just across the street and the units are beautiful. No A/C as there are only screens on the windows, but fans are provided. Functioning kitchen we didn't use because there is too many good restaurants in the area - including Tulum town. The pool is perfect for the setting, the hammocks were well used. Laury was a great hostess and was very responsive whenever we needed something. The bike rental option was great. We loved it!

  • It was our second time going to Tulum and we can only say that the Vida Silvestre Villa really made our experience unforgettable. Juan, our host, helped us settle in and made us really feel at home, anything that we would need he would be there to help us. We can defiantly recommend this property to future travelers. Mil gracias Juan & Maria! Hope to see you soon, Carla & Manu

    Manu2017-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Vida Silvestre was fantastic. Audrey was very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. The villas are lovely and exactly as they appear in the pictures. There is a lot to love about Tulum and our stay here gave us the perfect opportunity to discover it all.

    David2012-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sonia is a wonderful host. Before and during our stay, Sonia always responded quickly to e-mails and communicated wonderfully. Sonia gave us tips on things to do in and around Tulum. Vida Silvestre is a really cool looking complex of (I think) 5 villas at the end of the beach road. We stayed in #4. While we generally enjoyed the area, there are some comments and criticisms we feel are necessary to share. We were uncomfortably hot during our stay (April 5-8, 2014). There is of course no A/C, and the floor fans provided barely helped. There was no ceiling fan like in the pictures. We lifted the blinds to let a breeze come in at night, but that did not help. While the villa seems secluded in the photos, it isn't really. I was awoken early in the morning to the noise of street traffic. It was difficult to relax and get rest at night because of the heat and noise. Since there are no glass windows, all the noise outside comes in. Bring earplugs. The grounds are okay, but not very charming or inspiring...very basic landscaping. The pool is a little dirty. The kitchen was very small and not well equipped. My boyfriend wrangled with a cheap can opener for about 15 minutes. All the knives were dull and had rust. One cutting board provided had black dirt/stains embedded on it. One nonstick pot was so scratched and damaged it looked unsafe to use. Sink drained very slowly. Weird rust stains in bathrooms. Very few towels provided--two bath towels and two beach towels. Beach towels were small bath towels with stains. Photos were taken. Hardly any warm water, but it was okay because we were so hot we needed to get cooled down. We were there for three nights but only had cleaning service once because there is no service on Sundays...and we only had the 2 beach towels and 2 bathroom towels. This is inconvenient for example if you do multiple beach, cenote, pool activities in one day where you would like a fresh, dry towel. There were bikes to use, but only large men's bikes--they need to invest in some inexpensive bikes for women if they want to provide this amenity for all their guests. The beach club across the street was just okay and there was garbage in the water. It is funny to read Vida Silvestre's website. It is not "luxury", the floors are not "polished", it did not feel "private" due to needing to keep the shades up hoping for some breeze when others are walking around outside, and what "latest environmental design features"? The shortcomings would have possibly been okay if we paid a budget price, but it was $220/night, the most expensive place we stayed in during our trip. The starting price was $160, but for two people it is $220. This was too high of a price for the discomfort and inconvenience--so sad as I really wanted to love it.

  • The house is cute, located at the end of the Tulum strip, needs to be renovated, feel it has made it's time. This is not a 2 bedrooms, but a Jr suite set-up, with one sofa bed and one King size bed. I know Tulum is for you to take a break, but in that case sell it has a no WIFI location, because the wifi was not working at all and phone signal is very very low. A cute place if they refresh the cabanas and take better care of them. Still a good price for a couple.

-Small and rustic but comfortable room. 160 meters from Beach ( to get to beach from other hotel) 50 from a Cenote (inside the property) -Private bathroom. -Terrace with mosquito net. -Fan. No party, silence after 11 pm. Friendly and relaxed people that respect flora, fauna and sacred Mayan Cenotes, welcome you!
This place is unique because contains all you will need to get in balance again. Body, emotional, mental and spiritual.
We are 500 meters from the entrance to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve so we are close to the Reserve of Sian Ka ân, do not expect to find shops, boutiques or restaurants very near, the closest is 3 km away. The access to the beach is through other hotels.... There are public beaches with free access that are located 6 km away. Enjoying the jungle, mangrove, cenote, peace and hospitality is the best part.
  • Very nice and quite place.

    Nicolás2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful space. Perfectly situated at the end of the strip with the tranquil cenote at your doorstep and the ocean across the road...

    Samantha2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Larisa's place is a sanctuary. So welcoming, so peaceful, safe, the staff is sweet, happy and kind. The cenote is beautiful. There was nothing I didn't like. The breakfast was yummy and such a great value. You have to get creative each day if you'd like to be on the beach (it's getting harder), but they give you great tips. You have everything you need and more here. The best of both worlds. I will be back!

    Lindsay2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The property is the last one of the Tulum "strip", still very easy to get around even by bike. The Cenado room was pretty and perfect for 2. Super quiet and relaxing. The cenote is so beautiful, secluded and private. Amazing resourcing place! Larisa is a great host. She is very nice and helpful. Great deal!

    Alessio2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Nice green venue, but quite far from the centre. There are not many restaurants or groceries within walking distance. Larisa and her family were nice, but beware of the evening full-moon rituals as they might end up fumigating your room for a few hours, as it happened to me.

    Irene2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to my stay here but left disappointed. I raised my concerns with Larisa by email following my stay, but did not receive a response. Service - Larisa notified me by email that she would not be in Tulum for my stay, but it was difficult to find anyone who worked there for the first day. During my entire stay, I was not given any advice for the area, and would have appreciated more support. Room - I understood that there was no ac, but the room lacked any type of air flow making it extremely stuffy and uncomfortable to sleep in. When I arrived there was the property’s laundry drying on the upstairs balcony and a broken umbrella making it unusable. The mosquitos were particularly bad, even within the mosquito net common areas. Location - This is on the far end of the coast which makes for a peaceful location and the cenote out the back was nice. The beach must be accessed through neighboring property. Unfortunately I had a bad experience while accessing the beach making me feel very unsafe. I understand this was a rare occurence, but it is good to be aware of as a solo female traveler as the accommodation itself had little security. I would not stay here again.

    Juliette2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place next to an amazing cenote. The room is very comfortable and has a great terrace on the top. The breakfast (not included) is the best around with home made yogurt, granola and other Mexican delicacies at a very cheap price compared to the rest of the places in Tulum.

    Natalia2017-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, the heat was a bit too much for us to stay the whole time at Larisa's, particularly as the well water was very salty and so the showers were not as refreshing. The fans did not help enough. However, the space is beautiful, and very well located and the cenote is only a few steps away. In a less hot month, this would have been great.

  • For the people visiting Tulum this is definitely a great place to stay, the area is slightly remote which provides great privacy and tranquility but not too far from the city center. The house is beautiful, cozy and very well distributed. For 4 people or more this is an awesome value for your money. PP is a great host following up on requests and providing helpful tips.

  • Peppe was incredibly helpful he went out of his way to ensure our stay was comfortable. He showed up every day to check in on us and set us up with a chef who made two fantastic meals for us in the house. Loved the house too- surrounded by trees and in keeping with the spirit of tulum. Will definitely go back.

  • Nice Jungle House. A lot of mosquitos thats the price you have to pay for this outstanding House.

    Max2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • 5 stars! Peppe's house is a bit off the road in a remote area but it is so cosy we didn't want to leave it! If you don't have a car it night be a bit of a walk/ride but you are better off making an asado or chilling in the marvelous pool. Especially when the weather turns to grey, cooking in the greatly equipped kitchen felt like home. Everything is very nicely decorated with great taste. We regretted not renting it longer. Try to stay several days to fully enjoy it.

  • Very nice house in Tulum, full of charm, not too far but you need a car. No climatisation but the fans are working fine and it's more eco friendly. The neighbourhood is under construction yet but I hope it will be nice once finished. Peppe is very welcoming and gives many good advices on things to do. Totally recommend for a stay in Tulum !

    Nicolas2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Peppe's place is amazing, all the other reviews for this listing are accurate. It's gorgeous and the attention to detail in every aspect is amazing. Walking distance to the main strip and a 15 minute drive to the beach, but you barely feel like you need to leave the house, it's perfect. Peppe was great at communicating and gave us local tips when we asked.

    Cory2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Peppe's home is absolutely beautiful, and we were delighted by the architectural quality of the house - the photos do not to it justice. It is homely, spacious and with a fully equipped kitchen, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms are large, and each have their own bathroom with shower. Peppe himself was a generous and gracious host, attentive to our questions and requests for recommendations. We cannot fault our experience and we will be recommending Peppe's home to friends visiting Tulum in the future.

  • Planned to stay for 2 nights! 1st night there was water leaking from the second floors shower into our bedroom. Dora seemed to be the person in charge at the moment of check in. She made it very clear that if we had any questions or problems we can ask Pedro or peter. A 16 year old boy that spent the nights there. He is an employee there it seemed. 2nd night we asked Pedro if we can move to the 2nd level because of the leakage and the people staying there had left. He was quick to be accommodating and helped move our things to the 2nd level. An hr later we are ready to go out to dinner an I realize my phone is missing! I looked for an hour when I finally decided to ask Pedro for help. My wife and I found the boy Pedro sleeping half naked on the dirty ground in a outdoor kitchen with trash all over him. As I approached him I saw my phone battery within his things. I asked him if he knew where my phone was. He was very nervous and denied having seen or taken my phone. We realized another person was staying on the property and we asked for help. Pedro then rapidly found my now damaged phone in his things. The case was missing and the memory card as well. My wife found my damaged SIM card and no one had answers. Clearly he stole my phone when he offered to help move our things to the upper level. The other person staying on the property was the owner we had no idea. He was there with his girlfriend in one of the other rooms. He left right away after he knew what had happened didn’t even apologize. We also didn’t have a new key for the second level room and no One knew where to get it. We asked for the key numerous times! We tried to reach out to Dora many times being she was the adult and the person in charge there. But no luck. Being robbed and not given the key we had no choice but to leave! We couldn’t leave our things unlocked nor did we trust them anymore! We feared that more could go wrong. We had to find another place to stay at 1:00am. We are yet to be paid back for all of our loses.

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed at the place for 5 nights, we loved it! The place in really beautiful and comfortable. It's really nice after a long and hot day to come back to a room with an ac! We also relaxed every night on the hammoc on the balcony. It is really well located and felt really safe there. Dora was so nice and friendly and she was there everyday, always available for us if we needed anything and she even lend me her mirror, how nice! (The place had only been open for 3 weeks so they were not completely done with the final touches like mirror and some dishes or utensils for example) And on top of all that, Solobino, the little adorable puppy was always there to say hi in the morning and at night ❤️

  • Great value and friendly location convenient for central Tulum

    Toby2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the atmosphere. It's only about half a mile from the busy main street but you are so tucked away and surrounded by greenery you defiantly feel that disconnect needed. There is also a front desk area were you can always find someone to help with any questions you may have. Defiantly a great place to stay.

Small-rustic but comfortable room. 160 meters from Beach (get to beach from other hotel) 50 from a Cenote (in the propriety). Private bathroom. Terrace with mosquito net. Fan. No party, silence after 11 pm. Friendly and relaxed people that respect flora, fauna and sacred Mayan Cenotes, welcome you!
This place is unique because contains all you will need to get in balance again. body, emotional, mental and spiritual.
We are 500 meters from the entrance to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve So we are close to the Reserve of Sian Ka ân, do not expect to find shops, boutiques or restaurants, the closest is 3 km away. Access to the beach is through other hotels .... Public beaches with free access are located 6 km away. Jungle, mangrove, cenote, peace and hospitality is the best part.
  • The cabana was great. simple but everything we needed. very clean and comfortable (the rooftop patio was a nice bonus). Larissa was very helpful and the overall area is well kept. it was great having a cenote and kayaks to watch the sunset and birds and even a baby crocodile. for us it was nice to be at the end of the road where it is more quiet (though a longer drive back to town). The room was quite warm at night if it wasnt breezy. Note that staying on this (inland) side of the road means you don't have beach access. overall very good value.

  • Larisa y Carlos, Muchisima Gracias! This was such a wonderful vacation. The casitas are immaculate and beautiful, inside and out. Now there are new screened in porches with lights and hammocks on the rooftops of the two we stayed in. We didn't want to leave. This place is a gem. The owners are lovely and available, they are warm and welcoming, but allow for your space and tranquility, and complete freedom to enjoy all they have to offer and great recommendations for local trips. The cenote is right there with great swimming and kayaks for our use. The grounds are being constantly tended to, Leonardo and Melba kept the place so comfortable, clean and secure. The work is in progress with plans for more amenities, so it will be a joy to return to see the improvements, however it was just perfect for me, my sister and her husband (we had two casitas). You are right in the jungle here, iguanas, birds, at nighttime bats come out, and we kayaked at sundown and had a great experience of seeing a crocodile. We are assured that we were the creatures who should not have been there at that time, with respect for the croc, he gave us a thrill of floating near us but quickly swam away. We also met divers launching from the cenote beach into underwater caves, it was fascinating, the guide stopped and explained their excursion to us. There is wifi, hammocks to lounge in, lovely guests to meet, and solar power that was very reliable. Thank you again! Jennifer, Kate and Harun

    Jennifer2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great choice to stay at Larisas peaceful place. Everything was clean, good breakfast offering, and due to the place is at the end of the street it's not crowdy there. The cenote is awesome!! The beach is nice as well, but for a longer stay it would be to expensive staying in the beach clubs in this area. We didn't like so much that everything is private in this area, but playa maya isn't far away anyway. We would be happy to stay there again.

    Marco2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful, peaceful place and Larisa is a great host! Roof terrace is lovely, we really enjoyed our stay.

    Jenny2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Larisa's place was overall pretty good. If you are looking for a cheaper place to stay that is still really close to the beach, then this is the place. There were a lot of mosquitos, however as there were cracks in the door. Also, we had some problems with the keys as the previous guest had lost the keys so we had to use the maid's key. Our key then wouldn't close the door from the inside, and then later we got slightly locked in. Larisa, however, was super attentive and available on What's App. She also helped a lot with the taxi when we got lost. Know that this is more on the jungle side, so if you are more into nature then this is the place for you.

    Megan2016-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience and will recommend this place to our friends. The Cenote 2min from our room was magical and everything was above our expectations. Thanks Larisa. We will be back..

    Stefan2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great stay. Wish we would have been there earlier to enjoy the swim. H

    Viri2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay at Larisa’s. Tulum has changed a lot since we were last here and we were quite shocked by the touristic and yuppie look it has now. Larisas place seems to be one of the last remaining non expensive, non big-investor-fueled, real places. It is beautifully made, the cabanas are really nice and really clean, the beds are comfortable and the best is that is has a private cenote - which is really quiet, full of wild animals ( non scary ones) and amazing to sit at or swim in. You can go through one of the big hotels to get to the beach and if you turn right and walk for 10 minutes you will find yourself away from the resorts and back in nature as well. The breakfast was also really deliciously cooked, and cheap, especially compared the surrounding restaurants. That’s the only minus of larisas place: if you don’t have a car, you will need to take a cab for 150 pesos to tulum to eat for more or less normal Mexican prices (big recommendation here: sabor del mar) - and still be off cheaper than eating in one of the americanized super hip, but also very generic restaurants down the beach road. Nonetheless, we loved Larisas Place and hope she will keep up the individual and nice way of here place and her being!

At the Coba Avenue you can find good restaurants and is full of shops and bike shops. Parking is outside is a safe area or you can park at the coba avenue just as 80 meters away. This is a new developed area so many of the roads are in rustic.
  • The place is very beautiful, the rooms big enough with beautiful bathrooms. It offers a common kitchen and fridge and a whirlpool, very cool. The city center is about 20 minutes away by foot, but there’s plenty of restaurants nearby. Just make sure to get your directions early on when you have access to the internet, it’s impossible to find the place without them.

  • We are couple that has been backpacking for the past year on a tight budget. We found this place on Airbnb at very good price and assumed it would be a semi-hostel sort of set-up. It wasn't. It was more like a boutique hotel than a hostel, and we had no complaints. The pictures don't do the place justice. The plunge pool jacuzzi is great and the decor is basic but stylish. All in all the place feels very tranquil. It's a little hard to find, but just being off the main road between the strip and the beach means it quite. Read the instructions provided to find the place and you won't have a problem. Great for couples or small groups of friends. I wouldn't recommend it for someone in search of a party.

    Bradley2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Good location between Tulum City and the beaches.

    Mikkel Crone2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • the photos of this place really don't do it Justice. It is off the main drag, so it's very quiet, and there is a nice communal kitchen that has everything. there is a fellow on site at all times for your security and Crystal is very responsive with any questions or issues. it's close to everything but far enough away for some serenity I highly recommend.

    Barbara2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had great days in the area. Very nice decoration and the room was very pleasant. We also used the kitchen very much, everything you need. You can rent bicycles and drive 20 minutes to the beach! We can recommend the room!

    Tanja2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kristewzky and Raul were very accommodating hosts. Check in was easy, and they helped us get from the bus station to the rooms. Rooms were very spacious and well designed. The kitchen provides all amenities necessary to cook a good meal also. The plunge pool is a great added touch to cool down after a day in the sun. Will stay here again when we return.

    John2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • great location. 5-10 minutes walk to the downtown of Tulum and 15 minutes by bicycle to the beach. you can rent a bike at the hotel one minute far from the apartment. the whirlpool is not heated so don't expect you can actually use it :D There is always water to drink in the kitchen. The room has everything you need and the host is super nice. I can totally recommend this place. Don't be too much afraid of spiders, scorpions or worms. There are some in the room but for living in the "jungle" it is quite normal I guess and it was no problem for us. Even my girlfriend survived it ;)

    Florian2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place seems new on Airbnb. It is a 100 peso ride to the beach and a 30 peso ride to town. There is no AC and it gets really hot, all through the night. If there were screen doors to keep out mosquitos, one could cool off and sleep there comfortably without AC. Right now, that's not the case and it makes it a place that is hard to come home to. We saw scorpions and huge spiders indoors, which on top of the heat made it a place I didn't love coming home to at night. Some minor changes could make a big difference.

Rustic Cabin in a local neighborhood, 5 min walking to the main street of Tulum town, full of amenities, shops/bars/restaurants/traditional crafts shops/Bus station etc Easy to get around to the most exciting places that Tulum has to offer (Cenotes, Beach, archaeological zones, Market, etc.)
The cabin is completely independent inside a private property.
Quiet and safe neighborhood full of small local shops and restaurants just 1-2 min away. Perfect for people that want to experience the local vibe of Tulum.
  • Awesome host, she even offer to pick me up from the bus stop out of charge :) the place was lovely and very handy to move around, lots of amenities just few steps from the property, I got many tips for real local places to eat and visit , I'll definitely back here :) The room was bigger than expected and the lovely terrace make a perfect spot for chill after a day full of adventures, and perfect for the morning coffee :) Thanks Adriana for your hospitality.

  • We had a great time in the Ady’s cabane! The cabane is really clean and spacious. You have everything you need in there with a small terrasse to relax. Ady was lovely! She took care of me and my son and drove us at different places. I recommande the Ady’s cabane for your stay in Tulum.

    Alex2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ady is so hospitable and her places offers an authentic experience. She is so sweet and responds immediately for anything you need. I felt like I stayed with my aunt or my mom.

  • A big overpriced for the place, there is a club or discothek which played raggaeton all night on a wednesdat and it’s impossible to sleep. also wrong adress in the description. The cabin is clean and nice, the lady is very nice.

    Bastian2018-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is such a beautiful place. It is decorated with great detail and we felt very welcome. Ady is a lovely person and she even drove us to our car rental. Within 15 minutes you can reach most restaurants and bars in Tulum.

    Doreen2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The place is so cute close to everything. What lacks in huge resort , makes up in carácter... if you are Running around, this place is perfect!! Your host is amazing and reply's supper fast!!

    Adolfo2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Ady is very hospitable and responded to my questions quickly. The property is a single room with an en suite bathroom. It is a basic room, but it felt very rustic and artistic. When we visited, there was construction works next door, but we were up early so it didn’t affect us. If you are looking for a simple place near to town with the basics and a nice cosy vibe, then I would recommend Ady’s Airbnb.

The house - which is spacious with a lot of natural light, what we enjoyed - is located five streets from the centre. It is well located and we liked the small walk to the main avenue. The house is clean, spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed having breakfast indoors in the morning and sitting outside during the evening. There are two chairs and a little table surrounded by plants. Perfect for drinking the beers we bought (and which we kept cool in the fridge) in candlelight (we like to be romantic but also have light). We also ate a good pizza we bought nearby accompanied by Pancho, the cute little dog who lives with the owner. During the mornings we had a nice cup of coffee and ate our fruits. And Ady gave us an oven to warm out leftover pizza slices! If you are looking for a quiet and good accommodation, with a warm and chill owner who is willing to help you, then you come at the right address.

Calling all Jungle lovers... We want to share our charming and rustic hidden casita with you. We are located in the jungle side of the Tulum beach road right across from Ahau Hotel. Great location wake up 2 minutes walking to the beach. Includes Ahau beach access and the Tulum famous restaurant Raw Love breakfast daily. Can be noisy so please read below descriptions.
You will love this casita because its tucked in the jungle yet still steps from the beach. Enjoy lounging in the hammocks, waking up to exotic birds singing, taking a shower under the sun and moon, and getting a real feel for Tulum jungle living. You'll have everything you need to feel at home.
Right on the beach road, close to all the hot spots are walking distance
  • The Casita is super lovely, and in a lovely jungle, everything was perfect, loved the outside shower, and outside hammock, and how peaceful it can be, even while being so close to the main street it was coming back to a little sanctuary; just be aware of mosquitos they can be wild!!!!! And appart that felt save all the time, even while leaving computer and phone in the casita, Internet and the AC were working great! The wood shop is really not loud and they are super lovely people, The bar close by with the music all night can be loud sometimes but the earplugs help:) Super close to the beach, and walking distance to plenty of nice places to eat, Safari, my favorite is next door. Of course The breakfast at Raw Love was a big plus and Deniss was fantastic, super helpful with any questions and always available, Thank you Denise and All, Had a lovely time,

    Angela2018-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute bungalow in an excellent location! Having breakfast included at Raw Love was the only reason I booked it! Our host was AWESOME! She was super accommodating and even got us beach beds at Ahau. Unfortunately we did not sleep well because the bars played loud music until 6am. I read some reviews but thought maybe they were exaggerating. It actually was really, really loud a couple nights. If you like to party, than you might like to stay here!

    Danielle2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is prime - really you can't beat it and speaking with friends in the area they were amazed that we found something on the beach (jungle side) for such a great price. There are many really great restaurants super close by and the beach just right across the road. Raw love is an amazing restaurant - the free breakfast doesn't include the bowls they show in the photos though - instead expect a free smoothie and tea (also very tasty). We were a bit challenged by the late night noise and although we stayed Sunday-Thursday during low season we still experienced late night noise 2 of the 4 nights - we slept alight with it using ear plugs but it is challenging for anyone who is sensitive to noise when trying to sleep. The wifi was down for our 4 night stay - I saw another review saying something similar so just be aware and if you really need it make sure it will be functioning before booking. Despite the hiccups we really appreciated our time here and felt that it is an incredible value for anyone looking to be right near the beach.

    Mose2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Magic little jungle shack tucked away off the road, super sick. Perfect location! Loved eating at Raw Love restaurant. Woodshop noise was never an issue, the guy is super mellow and stops at like 4pm ish. The bar next door does happen to be open 24 hours a day 7 days a week ( so the sign says) so they can play loud music whenever they like (like 11pm-7am. But that was not every night and the bar does happen to be pretty sick with good drinks/music and a cenote inside. I went to the owners bday so it was probably raging harder than most nights, all in all it was not a spoiler. We never felt weird about leaving our stuff in the place, high valued camera equipment, all good. Deniss and Nicole who helped host were super nice and made the trip very mellow and easy. Thank you! Would definitely book again, was and epic stay. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have extra drinking water.

    Brian2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is in a very good spot as it has every cool spot surrounding it. The music next door is extremely loud, but the earplugs can help. The casita has a camping feel as the windows are all mesh so the AC does not really fill up the room. if you are not low maintanence it will not work for you. Make sure to buy bug repelant as they are many mosquitos.

    Jerry2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most beautiful Airbnb's I have ever stayed in. Everything was above and beyond what we expected and we were extremely happy with the hosts and the place itself. It was secluded and a very comfortable stay. There is a bar next door that is loud at night but the earplugs made it manageable and we did not mind having background noise.

    Victoria2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bad experience overall, hosts did not have respond to email or (Hidden by Airbnb) message, which was the method the host preferred according to the description. Location is not on the beach, but not the other side of the street behind a parking lot. The entrance walkway gets blocked and you have to walk over rocks, twigs dirt, etc, sucks if your wearing sandles. The place itself was as expected from the pictures, other than the shower head being broken. From reading other reviews, I expected complimentary breakfast at RawLove, sadly nothing was. I was given an attitude at Raw love when I asked if anything was complimentary. I chose this place because it offered WiFi, I was told “WiFi doesn’t work right now, it’ll be up in a couple days” (don’t think the WiFi bill was paid).

    Marcos2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • super nice apartment in the jungle, next to the beach road, very good and friendly hosting. Best breakfast ever at RAW LOVE TULUM!! :) highly recommendable.

Located ten minutes away from Tulum, in the heart of the jungle and surrounded by crystalline cenotes, we are a tranquil and naturally beautiful campground and rustic modern cabins with ensuite, ventilation and double bed. The accommodation includes walking access to three cenotes located within and around the property. For those seeking a relaxing holiday in the land of the Mayans, we offer a temazcal (traditional sauna), a large area for meditation and yoga, and massages upon appointment.
The cabins are built on top of a network of cenotes (underground caves with clear fresh water) that are accessible by kayak and extend for over 80metros. You will find stalactites, small fishes and fireflies at night in the heart of the jungle, about 15kms from Tulum town. The beach is only 2kms away, on the other side of the main road.
This is a quiet area surrounded by jungle with small family properties around the area. There is a small supermarket at the entrance to the road and beaches across the main road with a restaurant : Chamicos which has public beach access. Jungle Maya is next door offering tours to the jungle and other cenotes.
  • The owners son Pedro kindly collected us from the main road and drove us to the site which would have been a short walk. As part of our stay we where able to visit and swim in two cenotes which where located on the land. The cenotes are the best thing about the location. The camp site is on top of one and small cave entrances surround the site. The native and very beautiful motmot birds live around the site due to the cenotes. We saw lots of them during our stay. The kitchen is basic but you are able to cook, which we did. There is a shop by the main road but this has very little in the way of real food. Mostly snacks and drinks, so bring some food and don't rely too much on this nearest shop. The cabana was basic but it was safe and bug free. The toilet and shower inside was a bit smelly so we used citronella oil to freshen it up. There was also quite a bit of work going on around us, and it seems the site isn't really finished which took away some of the tranquillity. That was a shame because our host was very kind and we had good food for breakfast each day.

    Stuart2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Muy Bien! What an experience staying in the jungle. We arrived at the property a few hours earlier then check in time and were walked to the site from the main road (about 1km walk). We were allowed to check in immediately as our brand new cabana was available and ready. We were then offered coffee/tea and given bicycles to get around and information about the property and all the cenotes and caves there are to explore. In the afternoon we were taken on a free cave tour by one of the family members which was really cool. The following day we received a home cooked mexican breakfast (all you can eat) and again taken on a free tour to 2 amazing cenotes and given a traditional mayan ceremony by a local shaman. The site is still being built but we have no doubt this place will be really really amazing very soon. The family are all so nice and generous and looked after us so well. The cabanas are brand new and clean, kitchen basic but sufficient and the property is only 10 minutes by collectivo or taxi to Tulum town. We rode bikes one day and it was about 40 minutes (10/12kms). The property is also close to popular locations Dos Ojos, Casa Cenote and on the main road between Playa and Tulum making it easy and cheap to arrive by collectivo. You should be prepared to bring your own food if you would like to cook as there is only one small shop walking distance and it is not always open. It does have free Wifi 24/7 though. So be prepared and you will have an amazing experience too.

  • Excellent stay as always.... Giorgo's house (welcomed by Jose) is probably one of the nicest hideaway in Tulum. Highly recommended !

    Jerome2016-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The beauty represented is NOT only the land around you its in the company kept by Giorgio. There was thousands of fun and entertaining moments but also some very still and reflective times that everyone seemed to be aware of and ushered in the experience with togetherness. No really, it was a wonderful family like experience. We ate some of the best food, hung out at the pool and enjoyed the offerings of Mexico in the most authentic way a leisurely traveler can. Jose and all were lovely and joyful to be around.

  • Beautiful! We felt spoiled.

    Norah2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Aqua Viva, we will definitely go back!

    Anna2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jose's place was beautiful... We slept at the bamboo house.. totally new experience for us. No AC but no problem..we came here early march there's wind at day and night and you can use the swimming pool 24hrs!! Bathroom is shared. Near by there's a very yummy small tacos place too it's called Antojitos la Chiapaneca. You should have a car or if you don't mind rent a bike and browse around that's ok too.

    Naomi2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Aqua Viva! Jose was an extremely knowledgeable host and he was right on with lesser known attractions in the area. The hotel is slightly out of town, but was no problem as the AirBnB had bicycles to get around town. Beautiful experience staying in the Bamboo room, exactly the kind of outdoorsy feel I was looking for in Tulum. Though it would be nice if there was a mirror/sink in the bathroom for brushing teeth, shaving (but there is a sink/mirror in the bathroom downstairs). Highly recommend this experience :)

    Vik2018-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this bamboo hut was such an amazing experience. A great mix between staying in a hotel and having your own jungle experience. The room is gorgeous, rustic and comfortable. Its private and slightly separated from the other huts. The showers and bathrooms are accessible. AquaViva offers delicious breakfast every morning.

    Natalia2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We can't recommend this place enough!!! What a fantastic stay! Truly felt at home here. We loved everything about it, from the charming hosts and people we met there, to every little detail of the place, such as the turquoise pool, hammocks and dreamcatchers, to the beautiful, artistic touches like the natural wood railings around our balcony, and the eco-bamboo architecture of our palapa. Such an amazing place. Full of tranquility, breeziness, charm and unforgettable magic. I loved waking up there every morning in our upstairs palapa hearing the sweet sounds of birds - we felt like we were living in the most elegant tree house! and dipping into the pool during the hot days. Sol the sweetest dog and the orange cat also made us feel so at home :) We also loved the guide we met there, Medhi who took us on a great float down one of the Mayan canals with some other travelers and ended with great conversations and laughs over pizza in the open kitchen area. Really great people, and amazing place. The food at the restaurant next door is also delicious and healthy and service is fantastic. Thank you Jose, Rhonda and everyone for our unforgettable one week stay in paradise! We can't wait to come back!!!

Vida Silvestre Tulum is an ecotourism development located in the magic Mexican Caribbean region known as Tulum Playa. Because we are a 100% sustainable place we ask our guest to be conscientious in the use of water and electricity, because we have to generate them by ourself, we recycle the garbage so we ask to separate in different bins so we can take it to a recycling center in tulum. Please love Nature and help us to keep tulum as it is!!!
It's an Eco-tourism property, located in the Caribbean mangrove forest, very close to the turquoise sea and incredible white sandy beach! There are 5 equipped cottages, swimming pool, barbecue grill and private gardens. Tastefully decorated & comfortable. Just the perfect place for anybody to relax and rest while enjoying the green surroundings and the close by sea. Ideal to enjoy all year round due to the warm Caribbean climate. A unique place to visit alone, with your family or your partner. The fully-equipped cottages provide accommodation for 2-4 persons. One en-suite bedroom with king size bed, balcony and bathroom. Dining room for 4 people with separate kitchen. Living room with a extra single bed. Private garden with hammock and chairs. Fans and mosquito netting in every room. Adress: Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila, km9.5
We are located in one of the most exclusive Tulum Beach Area. Vida Silvestre is at the end of the Hotel Zone, at km 9.5. It is calm in the Mangrove forest ; you will be surrounded by nature.
  • We enjoyed 4 nights in Tulum at Vida Silvestre in February. The villas are beautiful and spacious, located on the jungle side of the beach road. The eco-friendly design and lush green setting gave us little reason to leave the villas. It was quite windy when we were there so the pool was a great option when the beach conditions were rough. We hired bicycles to get to restaurants, bars and the ruins or caught a taxi to get into town. Audrey was helpful with suggestions about where to eat and what to visit. Recommend these villas as a great alternative to many of the hotel villas along the strip - more spacious, private and peaceful.

    Claire2013-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish house with solar panels just 2 minutes from the beach and nearby amazing restaurants and beach clubs. The communication with the host was super smooth and friendly.

    Victoria2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for rustic jungle retreat and this was it! All the reviews are on point. Maria and Oscar were so pleasant, helpful and very accessible. Great location. Walking distance to all types of restaurants and shops. Right across the street from the beach. Villa was clean and designed well. Pool was refreshing. Overall, amazing time! Highly recommend it!

    Robyn2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • One of the most amazing AirBnB's i've stayed in to date. On a strip of beautiful hotels featuring obscenely high prices, this is a STEAL in comparison. Short walk to the beach, beautiful junglelike at garden surrounding property, and Flor is just beautiful and amazing herself. If in Tulum, STAY HERE!

    Arielle2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Flor's home was absolutely beautiful! It was my first time in Tulum and this spot was perfect! Close to the beaches and local restaurants. Flor was there to answer any questions we had. The beds are very comfortable and the fans kept us perfectly cool at night. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for beauty and comfort in this piece of paradise!!

    Nadia2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin? Vida Silvestre was absolutely perfect. We spent 8 nights in February, and the only downside was not being able to stay twice as long. As lovely as the photos are, the reality is even better. And Sonia is a warm, welcoming and helpful host. The little houses are well-equipped and very comfortable. Access to the beach is just across the street, but so close that you can hear the waves breaking as you lie in bed. Having a swimming pool to cool off was wonderful, and we found we had it to ourselves most of the time. It was great to have a little kitchen where we could make our own breakfast and lunches, though it should be noted that there are no grocery stores within walking distance of the property. In fact, Vida Silvestre is quite a distance from the (lovely) Tulum Pueblo. Taxis to town are plentiful, though, and the distance makes Vida Silvestre feel like a remote and peaceful haven. During our visit to the Yucatan, we stayed right in town in Playa del Carmen, at an all-inclusive in Cancun, and at Vida Silvestre. Vida Silvestre was by far the best of the three. If you are looking for a completely relaxed, natural, holiday with access to quiet beaches and great restaurants, this is the place for you. On another note... when you are in Tulum Pueblo, pay a visit to Pollo Bronco. They have the best chicken anywhere, ever!

    Simone2014-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, very good positive and economic stay at Vida Silvestre. Great communication leading up to the arrival. Accommodated our early arrival time, set us up w packs and play w netting for our 8 month old baby. Very helpful and responsive over the stay with anything we needed. The villas are in good shape. We'd never stayed on the jungle side before, but learned when it's warm, you lack the ocean breeze to cool you down. The villas come w fans and this helped tremendously. The kitchen is rare for Tulum, and was key for us having a baby. Also, the location is great next to Yaan Spa and BeTulum (however we learned 'children' aren't allowed there). The rate, location, and amenity combination really served us well on this trip, and we're glad we stayed at Vida.

    Tait2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • our trip to tulum was wonderful, and audrey was an excellent host. our accommodations were just as they described, and the groundskeeper was super helpful. since our place wasnt beachside, we were welcomed by the resort across the street and could use their lounge chairs.

Alicat Villas - 4 new villas, all with private balconies over-looking the 6 metre pool, these eco- friendly wooden luxury cabins are completely unique and are set apart from all the concrete condos that encompass Tulum. Made from high-quality wood from sustainable forests, you will instantly feel relaxed and welcome. VILLA VERDE has two double beds with mezzanine level two singles. Large kitchen, private en-suite bathroom, very high peaked-ceilings. No more construction noise!
The reference to the "no more noise" above refers to the construction site next door that is now completed and was the source of negative reviews beyond our control. There has been a lot invested in Alicat Villas to be as Eco- friendly as possible while giving you the luxury you expect. We don't have solar panels, but everything else here is aimed at reducing our carbon footprint and being as environmentally friendly as possible. All hot water is gas supplied with large overhead shower heads with hot water that will never run out for all your guests. High-pressure economical silent water-pumps that also detect leaks to save precious water but giving you luxurious showers. All the air conditioners, refrigerators ,microwaves and washing machine have Smart Inverters to save power and the dryer is gas powered. The biodigester recycles all sewerage and waste to return the clean water back to the earth. We compost all your organic waste to an area at the back of the complex to prepare a future vegetable and herb garden for our guests. The outside lights have motion detectors to save power and improve your security, together with the CCTV camera system. The insulated wooden villas with high ceilings give a fresh cool, fresh feeling inside usually making it unnecessary to use the air conditioners, although they are there to use at your leisure. The huge tinted-glass doors and windows make the villas bright and breezy with full block-out curtains for privacy and sleep. The pool area has a coal/gas Weber barbecue and tables, chairs and umbrellas and electrical sockets. There is a pool toilet in this area as well.
Tulum is, on all accounts , a safe city and any adverse publicity about Mexico is not referring to Tulum. La Veleta is still a developing suburb and some areas are not as well lit as they should be. But it is safe with no reports of any issues. The local community is very friendly and always ready to try to help (although sometimes with the wrong information!). On the main road of La Veleta (Calle 7) there are small supermarkets for food and alcohol, and local restaurants. Close-by on the highway is a petrol/gas station and a 24-hour Oxxo (Mexican corner store).
  • Ali was such an excellent host. He went out of his way to accommodate and ensure that we were comfortable during our stay in Tulum. Amazing unit in the local part of that town with a beautiful, clean pool. He provided pretty much every amenities you can think of and then some. He even went out with us for a memorable night out of town. Definitely will look to stay here again. If you’re looking for a home-away from home, it doesn’t get any better than this! Thanks Alistair, our favorite host in this trip. Highly recommended !!

  • Fantastic the host is amazing alister very quick response and full of knowledge has a place in tulum and play but he gave us a spectacular guide and came out to tulum to show us around as we were going to playa afterward he also gave us amazing tips for there too! He is an amazing host and the place was more then the photos and exceed our expectations. The place was a dream clean and very best of pie tulum jungle experience right next to a local shop and very near to town with bycycle hire. I’m so happy we stayed here and would stay here again the location is peaceful and overall could be hired out by whole groups or family for a private Airbnb stays we were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves which was incredible definitely recommend!!

  • The room was very spacious and had a very local feel, but it has all the amenities we needed. The neighbourhood is safe and easy to get a taxi into city centre. Alistair is a great host and he really made sure we had the best stay possible - he was available for questions, fixed things that needed fixing and he arranged taxis for us whenever we needed them. He gave local tips and was overall looking after us the entire time. Thanks, we would stay here again!

    Anna2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The accomodation is great and so is the host. Alistair is always there to help you, if you have a problem. Beds, the kitchen, the bathrooms and the Pool are great. Tranks for the great time :)

  • Beautiful villas, which the photos don’t do justice. Alistair was really helpful booking my boyfriend into a scuba lesson at short notice. The facilities are great and it’s very peaceful away from the main stretch.

    Ciara2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Can I just say, this accommodation couldn't have been any more perfect? We needed an overnight stay in Tulum, driving from Chetumal, arriving nearly at midnight. Our incredible host, Alistair, went above and beyond to organize our stay, even though he was quite under the weather, and should have been in bed. Every detail was thought out, everything we could need to make our stay awesome. He even offered to turn on the waterfall for the pool for a private swim. Did I mention the villa itself was just beautiful? Dark wood, earthy, very healing. Our daughters loved the private loft! Alistair allowed us to stay well beyond checkout time, even had personal recommendations on which cenotes in the area to visit. And when I left a few (valuable) items behind, he put them away in a safe for me and arranged to mail them back. This was the best stay ever, can't wait to get back! Thank you for being such an incredible host, Alistair!

  • We enjoyed our 6 night stay here with our friendly host, Alistair. The beds were comfortable and we swam in the pool in the evenings. Located off the main road of Tulum. Easy drive or bike to shops and restaurants of Tulum - they have bikes you can borrow, or to Playa Talum, and then provides a nice and quiet environment to relax in during the evenings. It also was a central location to do day trips to the sights in surrounding towns. There are multiple rooms and common areas for socialising so it's perfect for groups too.

Bravo Alistair and see you soon.

  • I don’t think we could have picked a better place to stay the 9 days we were in Tulum! Alistair went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable and welcomed! The place was clean and beautiful! Ali was always quick to reply and helped with anything we needed. He also made great suggestions on things to do around Tulum and even took us to a cenote one day! We could not have asked for a better host or place to stay! Will definitely be coming back here!

Small-rustic but comfortable room. 160 meters from Beach (get to beach from other hotel) 50 from a Cenote (in the propriety). Private bathroom. Terrace with mosquito net. Fan. No party, silence after 11 pm. Family-Friendly and relaxed people that respect flora, fauna and sacred Mayan Cenotes, welcome you!
Jungle, mangrove, cenote, peace and hospitality is the best part
  • We loved staying at this beautiful place. It is so peaceful and beautiful and interestingly built! The hosts are so kind - we met Carlos briefly on our first night. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the Cenote is very cooling. So close to lovely beach and restaurants.

    Chloe2016-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Larisa's property was just what we needed. Located at the end of the main road, it provides the most peaceful getaway for more than a fraction of the price. Just steps away from a cenote, as well as the beachfront, you're truly in a central location. Getting into town is quite easy also. Will definitely stay with her again!

    Lisa2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • My stay was all around great. The room and location was great. Really enjoyed the Cenote. The sheets in the room and towels provided where a little dirty. The room also had no fans. Those only negatives I can say about my stay. Overall a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this location to friends.

    Victor2016-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay! Clean, comfy. The cenote is beautiful and there are kayaks to play in!

    Milana2016-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful great place with close connection to interesting activities. Best thing was the access to open cenote in the mangroves and free kayak rental. Nice friendly staff. Only negative as it was end of May nights were pretty hot and there is only fan.

    Vianneya2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Make sure to bring lots of mosquito repellant, place is close to the mangroves and lots of plants. Also, make sure you bring a flashlight since it gets pretty dark to go to your room. Don't expect a hotel type of room. Bathroom is not as good as what you might used to. Buy your coffee outside, their coffee doesn't taste like coffee at all and the way they make it might surprise you. Staffs are all friendly i can't say bad things about them. Adriana and Naia both spoke English. Larissa is such a sweet lady. Place is good if you want something different. Beach access is across the street, you have to enter rosa del viento. The guards will let you pass by.

    Lou2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and relaxing, better than the photos! Felt like stepping into a tropical paradise. Private access to the mangroves was a big plus, as was being removed from the hustle and bustle of the center of town. Highly recommended.

  • Carlos was there to greet us and show us our room, he was very friendly and helpful with the information he gave us. The room is exactly how the photos showed it to be and was perfect for our short stay in tulum. The cenote behind was beautiful and we enjoyed taking the kayak/boat out and enjoying the view. The location is just a short walk from most shops/restaurants and other hotels. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here at this peaceful place and I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for somewhere to leave their bags and rest their heads at night at a reasonable price in tulum. 10/10!

  • Home was beautiful, but not having air conditioning was a bit more uncomfortable than I would have thought. Laury was super helpful and the beach access is super close. Recommend for the value, but if you're going during the hot season...beware.

  • Great place! And the food at loco Tulum is excellent! Very chill vibe and nice people.

    Lt2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot at an amazing location. The part of the beach near Casa Coyote is probably the best you can find around. Anywhere. Although the property is not directly located at the beach itself it is only a short 2 minutes walk away, very easily accessible thanks to friendly arrangements with neighbouring resorts. The whole property is very stylishly decorated, consistent with the high-end resorts that are in the same area. Like these resorts the power is generated at the property. At Casa Coyote this is done with solar panels with some generator backup specifically for the neighbouring restaurant if that fails, which occasionally happened up to ca. 11pm. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to get the water to the right temperature for showering. We considered this as part of the charm of being in this special area of Tulum. Generally it was very quiet at night (with beautiful stars!) The absence of an A/C was not a problem for our stay in December, thanks to the fresh breeze from the ceiling fan. Laury & Enrique were incredibly warm and welcoming hosts and were very helpful also with providing further suggestions of what was happening in the area. They were very much available. As mentioned there is a restaurants next door that recently opened. A very enthusiastic team prepares excellent food. It is great to have such a wonderful option directly next door. The stay really surpassed our expectations. We hope we will have an opportunity to return in the next years...

  • Great location for going to the places we wanted to spend time ie La Zebra and Hartwood. We loved using the beach at Dos Ceibas - where they have a partnership for yoga and beach access. Very stylish space! We loved eating the pizza from the restaurant, Loco Tulum, in front of the space.

    Shasta2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is fantastic: super stylish designed and in the more quiet but exclusive part of the strip. Enrique is the most amazing host you can imagine, we went out together at night and became good friends. He know everything about Tulum and can help you with all information. The restaurant in the front is formidable and there is always somebody there that can help you with everything. The wifi was the most stable one we ever had at the beach of Tulum. Water was always warm for a nice shower. I can highly recommend this place to everyone.

  • Perfect eco friendly studio behind an amazing restaurant (the spicy tacos were delicious). I would definitely come stay here again - it’s a little bit farther down from the main strip but they offered bikes which made exploring Tulum so much easier. It’s not on the beach but they partner with Dos Ceibas Cocina which is across the street and on the beach - you get a discount for food and can use their lounge chairs. Amazing little studio and Laury was a great host- she was very responsive, accommodating, and had awesome recommendations. I would love to stay here again when I come back to Tulum!

  • We had three amazing days at Casa Coyote. A very stylish and clean place. It’s a small place with only 6 rooms, which is perfect, because you get all the attention you need. Enrique and Laury took really good care of us and were there to help us whenever we needed it. We traveled with our 8 month old daughter and their was a baby bed ready at the room when we arrived. It’s really close to the water. Only a 3 minute walk through Dos Ceibas, were you can get a sunbed if you just buy a drink or two at their beach bar. We can definitely recommend this place to everyone. Also when you travel with a baby.

  • I enjoyed my stay but found Alistair to be argumentative. This is a 4-plex of Airbnb units. I stayed in a lower single unit. Lovely interior and quiet at times, at others like inhabiting a wooden drum being played by the upstairs occupants, surrounded by construction noise on either side. There were various sets of dj's and loud electronic music. When I commented that the music was too loud (to hear myself speak in my own room), Alistair told me Airbnb allows parties, and to "enjoy". Small bits of wood rained down from the ceiling from almost continuous upstairs party. If I'd have known I'd need to ask the neighbors to keep it down as part of my stay I'd have made a different choice of accommodation. I will take responsibility for not knowing I'd be staying in Tulum during an electronic music festival. Further, when I asked for a blanket I was told it was rarely cold in the Caribbean and offered extra sheets. On the positive side I liked the location, in a regular Tulum neighborhood though far from most everything; I enjoy walking and taxis to beaches and town, ruins were very reasonable. Bring earplugs and a blanket and you'll be fine.

  • Alistair’s place is beautiful but we thought it was a bit too far from the beach for us. Alistair is very friendly and has good suggestions. He responded to our request of better linen and cleaning promptly. There were some nice personal touches like a nice bottle of wine :) The villa we had was a bit noisy but manageable.

    Kameswarie2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Alistair is an amazing host. He checked in with me throughout the stay to see if I need anything and went out of his way to provide everything I needed! The room I booked is really spacious and the bed comfortable.

    Chris2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great Host, Great Location, Great Place! Really glad I picked this place for my stay. The construction noise wasn't an issue for me during the stay. The space is very unique and has a very open feel, with a pool in the middle. Alistair is a super helpful and knowledgable host who was there to answer any questions we had.

The beach few steps away. We reserve tours to lagoons, Cenotes, archaeological sites, boat rides, all kind of aquatic sports, diving, kitesurf.. You'll love it, the cabaña is cosy and private. Walking distance from the beach boutiques, restaurants, bars with live music and little markets. Kitchen is shared within the 2 units.Mosquito nets, is fresh, spacious and with private garden where you can admire the stars in the night. Is the perfect place for couples, adventurous people and nature lovers
A romantic little house with a lot of privacy. Private parking. The bedroom has private bathroom and hot water. Fan. Full furnished (bedsheet, blanket, towels, shampoo). Few steps from the Caribbean sea :) Close by there are few hotels where you can use the beach beds just having some lunch there. Located in the heart of the Tulum hotel area. In clear nights you can admire thousands of stars from the garden.
Is close by the most touristic attractions in Tulum, like the Mayan arq. site, the only one in front of the ocean, the Sian Ka'an Biosphere consideres human heritage by the Unesco for its natural beauties. You'll observe a lot of birds and other animals. 15 min driving from "Dos Ojos" Cenote, one of the most beautiful Cenotes in the area, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Muyil with its arq. site and fresh water channels, located inside the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. Lagoons and many arq. sites.
  • Guadalupe was a great host! We arrived to Tulum a ot later than expected due to flight delays, she was there waiting for us with a big smile Guadalupe is friendly and welcoming The house is steps away from the beach, is not luxurious, the basics are covered, the kitchen is really nice and everything is clean, two bathrooms, one inside and one outside for showers after the beach The cost for this house is only a small percentage of what you would pay just across the street highly recommended! Gracias Guadalupe por su bienvenida, esperamos regresar pronto!

    Max2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. It is indeed romantic. Guadalupe was very helpful. The beach is perfect. The cabana is across the street from one of the many beach resorts. Its perfect for a weekend. For longer then a long weekend the bed would be a bit small for my taste but for the length of our stay it wasnt a problem.

    Sam2018-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my month-long stay here. This is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking for a more rustic, authentic jungle experience near the beach. Everyone who was managing or working on the space were wonderful and kind. The indoor space is pretty minimalist but the outdoor space is incredible. There is excellent Internet service (as long as there is electricity). Some things you should know: bring solar lanterns, the whole place is solar so if it rains there's no electricity and if you use the fan a lot or turn the lights on for long periods of time you'll run out of electricity. There is no refrigerator or coffee maker. So bring a French press and plan on dry goods or eating out. Most local hotels and restaurants are pretty expensive, so plan for that. In the city of Tulum is cheaper and you can get some authentic cheap tacos from sellers on bikes, listen for the clown horns. La Euffemia is about the only cheap taco place in the Hotel Zone, it's great. But the beaches make everything worth it. Gorgeous, white sandy clear waters.

    Tracee2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. The locks on the doors don't work, but there's a large gate at the front that does, and it is enclosed in tall fences. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so make sure you bring bug spray! There's a terribly large spider in the bathroom, but it's probably more scared of you than you are of it (probably). Guadalupe is the sweetest host, and available on (Hidden by Airbnb) if you have any questions. She doesn't speak much English, so brush up on your soanish!

    Arinna2017-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Guadalupe is great; she is responsive, she is very warm (calida), excellent and very helpful host, she will share with you any information you need about Tulum and the area. "Formidable Persona." The cabaña is as describe solar power, essential comfort, simple life. Near to all the Tulum happening, however not as busy as the beginning of the Riviera. Tulum is totally different from what I remembered 25 years ago; it is fancy, fancy. Thank you, Guadalupe.

    Maria Isabel2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cabana for a week and it was great! Guadalupe was so sweet and provided great hospitality. She picked us up in the town of Tulum to take us to the cabana. The cabana is on the jungle side of the "hotel zone", directly across from the hotel, Alma Tulum. We went to Alma almost every day for breakfast to get direct access to the beach. The cabana runs off of solar energy, so it was necessary to be conscious of how much energy you are using. It obviously has less amenities than staying at a hotel, but it's about 1/3 the price! Overall it's a really great place to lay down after long beach or adventure days.

    Lucy2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great, long stay at Maria's place. We were extremely close to the beach and also had the jungle as our backdrop. There are many great places to eat nearby but we also had a kitchen if we wanted to make our own meals. Maria was so helpful with everything. She took us to the grocery store and also helped us find a good place to rent a scooter. I would highly recommend staying at her place.

    Erin2017-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great option for staying in tulum- it is just across from alma tulum, a nice resort, and about 1/3 the price- it is very easy to go to any of the beaches at the surrounding hotels. It is a bit more rustic than other places we have stayed in tulum- it feels very much like a jungle, and here is some dirt around the property but it is overall comfortable. Maria was a wonderful host-- very attentive. This is not a luxury resort, but its a great, safe, affordable option for staying in tulum.

  • So cute! Set back in the jungle I had the rooftop palapa with private bath. Hot water was good, the ladies provided me with stuff to help with the October mosquitoes (thank goodness for the mosquito netting). A little pool to help cool you off when you need it. The ladies were very sweet and helpful and excellent with communicating with (Hidden by Airbnb) . It’s a bit down from the restaurant area so more quiet, still within walking distance though. You can use the Agua Hotel beach if you order drinks, but I would venture and try different places each day. I always love my time in Tulum and this was no exception.

    Kathie2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in two different rooms over 4 days at Gorila. Both were great. First two nights in the Penthouse and two nights in the Palapa. We loved both rooms. The Palapa is at the rear of the property and relatively quiet. We did get a few mosquitoes in that room although the netting over the beds kept them away from us. We loved the Penthouse room with a private deck that we used for hangout time and to do some yoga. This room got very bright in the morning so good for early risers...Thanks Nathalie! We'll be back.

    Tim2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is fabulous! Friendly staff, central, great kitchen and pool with everything you need. The room itself is a sanctuary in the Mayan palapa style, bigger than we expected and with really strong fans and perfect mosquito nets which made for a perfect night's sleep. Would definitely stay again!

  • Staying with Nathalie was amazing -- all the amenities were perfect and the beach was beautiful. Thank you for having us!

    Jesse2017-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a great stay here. The room was clean but one of the beds was a bit hard and uncomfortable. Do keep in mind that the room is kind of an open environment so you will hear people's conversations outside and the sound of generators at night. Other than that the location was great. Directly across from the beach, only a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants and shops. Sebastian and Nathalie were very helpful and gave us good recommendations.

    Sergio2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nathalie was a great host and the place is in the perfect location along the beach. The room was very nice. It is in the Jungle and a good portion of the walls are mesh, so you really feel it. Was great to be able to make our own breakfast everyday in the kitchen. Would stay again for sure.

  • We loved our stay here! The location is absolutely ideal for anyone who is visiting Tulum. We interacted with the other host Sebastian a good bit and he was extremely helpful and welcoming. I've already started to recommend this place to others!

Next door there is a good corner store for basic items. Close -by is another small supermarket for food and alcohol, and local restaurants. The best seafood restaurant in Tulum "El Camello" is only a few blocks away. Close-by on the highway is a petrol/gas station and a 24-hour Oxxo (Mexican corner store).
  • Good things: - the host, Alistair, is really really helpful and responsive; he even booked a bus for me using his card because I wasn't able to do it from outside Mexico with international card. I was there on Xmas Eve and Alistair cooked a turkey dinner for the guests (in the end I was the only person who turned out). He also made everything within his power to sort out issues with the house that occurred, - the place itself: the apartments are great, exactly like on the pictures, stylish, comfortable and well equipped (e.g. blender for turning local fruit into juice). The wood everywhere really adds to the character, - the bike onsite: I had to pay for it separately, but it was really convenient to be able to cycle everywhere, including the beaches, cenotes and the ruins. Bad things: - the place in the middle of the construction zone and unfortunately the noise doesn't stop at 6 pm as it was supposed (I had been warned about the noise, but was told it would finish by 6 pm). One night the work went on until 9:30 pm, - there were issues with the shower (not enough pressure), wifi, AC that I think are due to the fact that this still is a relatively new place and final touches are being put. Alistair worked hard to sort them out and I'm sure once it's all done (and it was basically sorted out within a couple of days), this won't be a complaint. I however hadn't expected that while booking the place, so it was inconvenience. I suggested a discount on the bike rent to Alistair to alleviate the impact of those issues, but Alistair didn't think it was appropriate, - the area, as per above, is a newly developing one in Tulum, which means there isn't much around in terms of shops, restaurants or bars - you do basically need to go to the centre (but do check out Cafe Gourmet nearby though for good Italian coffee).

    Ewa2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: 1. The airbnb is about 1 mile from the main street with the shops and restaurants. The area surrounding the airbnb has a local feel (less touristy than areas by beach, for example). We mostly walked or biked to the main street but a taxi ride to many locations on the main street is 50 pesos (~$2.50) including tip. 2. The host rapidly responds to questions and offers lots of advice. Host was prompt in responding to requests and even offered for us to borrow his snorkel set. 3. The AC works well and keeps sleeping area cool at night. 4. The kitchen is fully equipped. Cons: 1. The location is slightly less convenient to restaurants, ruins, and the beach than other airbnbs we viewed in Tulum, which is the natural consequence of getting a more “local” feel. 2. We rented the bikes available at the airbnb for only one day and after that we decided to rent others. The bikes had flat tires and the locks were sturdy but very hard to maneuver. We were able to rent bicycles elsewhere for a cheaper price although we needed to provide collateral. Providing collateral did not bother us but might bother some. 3. The host was hesitant to replace our towels, even though only two were supplied in the room. He replaced them, but we wished we had just brought our own. 4. Once, when we left the Airbnb to go downtown, the host noticed that our air-conditioner was still on, and asked us to go back and turn it off. Although his desire to save electricity is understandable, this felt ungracious.

  • Was in Tulum last week for vacation and stayed at Alistars place. We had a wonderful experience at Alicat Villas. The villas were brand new and beautiful inside and out. Unique construction and character made the villas stand out! Alistar was very hospitable and accommodating throughout out our stay! He helped us with pretty much everything and made our stay very smooth! The villa was completely equipped with everything you might need and the location is very convient! Was close to the beach and all activities! Overall it was a great week!

  • The apartment was lovely, and very well equipped, particularly if you’re interested in cooking. Good location in an up and coming part of Tulum. The pool was a great feature, getting lots of sunlight. Would recommend.

  • Alicat Villas are a fantastic location to base your stay in Tulum around, they are very clean and having a pool on those hot days is very nice. The rooms are very clean and stay cool on hot days with the curtains closed. Alistair was a fantastic host offering our party with advice on food options, as well as places to visit that we had not initially planned on going to. Overall, a very good experience, and I would highly recommend staying here if you ever want to visit Tulum.

    Stefan2018-02-26T00:00:00Z

  • Our jungle cabin stay was an amazing experience. After a bit of trouble finding the place (as it is beautifully secluded) we were happy to arrive to our home and Alex was ever so welcoming. The road getting there is slow going, but once you know you're on the right track it's a great drive through the jungle. You pass a local family and then when you arrive you see that another local Mayan family lives right near the cabin, which makes for such an authentic experience. Alex is so happy to answer any of your questions about the area, but also happy to leave you to yourselves if that's what you are hoping for. There are animals all around which adds to the beauty of the place. With solar energy giving you light it truly makes you appreciate the simpler things in life. Alex also took us to a nearby cenote which was more than we could have asked for. Other cenotes would cost and have a crowd but this one had such a quiet jungle magic to it. I would highly recommend this experience!

  • It's a nice place to stay and it id 5 min walk from city centre. Only thing I would complain about is there was no warm water and the door cannot fully be closed but other than these, I recommend to stay there.

  • It is little difficult for me to write a bad review as it was my first very bad experience. At first the host was nice. But then really strange things happened. We had no electricity and neither water for whole afternoon and morning. Then I started to find out what's going on. The host was not there. Only some worker that told us every hour it will work in a bit. Then he came and handed me the host on the phone asking me for 300 pesos to fix it. So the place was cut off. I said no and that we will leave if its not fixed soon. Then after so many hours it started to work. On our check out day we properly checked out and asked the employee where we can leave our bags for few hours. When we came back the host was there, really mean from the first moment asking us for extra money because we left the bags there. Then it was really uncomfortable as he started to be really hard on us even we said the worker said it was ok and even pointed where we should leave it. We left immediately with really weird feeling. And an other thing. On our first day he rented us the worst possible bikes saying he has special price 100 pesos and other places rent for 200. Lie! The bikes didn't even work and all places in Tulum rent proper nice bikes for 100! Avoid this place. Really.

  • Gabo is la neta de planeta! Offered bikes for rent, and all the amenities/accommodations possible. Hot water and an outdoor shower option. This room is a hidden nook in the back of his property and perfect for 2 people. The location is right in the center of town and Gabo is a one of a kind!

  • Location was amazing, our stay was great. The host was so welcoming and gave so many tips about what to do in the area. He was so enthusiastic about travelers and extremely hospitable.

  • Amazing place, very warm and welcoming vibe. Very real and down to earth! We very much enjoyed our stay here.

  • Gabo was a great host. He was friendly, accommodating and very easy to reach when needed. This airbnb was a great place for meeting other travelers. It also had a nice shower and kitchen area. There were several markets nearby where we were able to pick up food and come back to cook every day. This being said, the neighborhood was pretty loud at all times of day and night, so I recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

  • Gabo was the best host we could have hoped for. He was always willing to help and listen and had great advices on the places to see and tulum and how to get there in the most cost efficient way. I definitely recommend his place, as it felt like a safe quiet haven in the otherwise very busy tulum. The place is simple yet very charming, with it's typical mexican caribean feel. I couldn't have hoped for anything better !

  • Gabo was very friendly and helpful to our family! The space is in the PERFECT location for anyone wanting to experience the nightlight of downtown Tulum. Enough room to sleep at least 4 guests comfortably, and the mosquito nets are a great addition. We wish them so much happiness and success in the future.

Step onto the fine, white sand and take in the spectacular views of the Caribbean in many shades of aqua. A perfect place to get away and unwind.
Our private cabanas are approximately 300 square feet each, and have great views of the ocean, two beds (1 queen/1 full), a private bathroom, mini-fridge, a dinning table, chairs, and a closet. We furnish purified drinking water and offer free WiFi. The cabanas are about 20 feet from the water. They offer the perfect mix between the Robinson Crusoe adventure you want, and the comforts of home that you need. There is a shared outdoor kitchen with a stove top and a grill you are welcome to use. There are 3 restaurants/watering holes on the bay, within walking distance, that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and a fourth that is open for breakfast. There is a mini-super on the bay for essentials but Tulum, with full supermarkets is only 6 miles away.
  • Art and June were very hospitable! Art went above and beyond, for example, spending an hour with me trying to light copal for my own Dia de los Muertos alter! Having the beach to myself was magical and a very special opportunity. I loved Cabana 1! The view made me feel like I was living on top of the water. Showering with the ocean right outside the window was delightful. Yes, it was paradise.

  • June and Art are great hosts. Just a few steps from your bed to the beach. A tranquil paradise not far away from Tulum and Akumal (sea turtle guarentee) by car, taxi or collectivo.

  • One of the most peaceful and beautiful places on the planet.

  • This fabulous place, its ideal location, and great hosting provided us a wonderful vacation! We chilled on the beach, snorkeled right in front of the property (ask June for best spots), and after a few days of rest used this as a base to explore. Highly, highly recommended!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Cabana 1 that faces the ocean for 11 days in mid July. Our first night was sweltering without any a.c, but we adjusted quickly and utilized the 2 large fans when we slept. This was after a long travel day from NYC however and when we woke up the next morning we found we were actually in paradise. July is probably the hottest season in Tulum but we got perfect weather for the entire 11 days. It rained maybe once or twice but very hot. There is plenty of shade in front of the cabana. I suffer from a skin condition known as Melasma and I have to stay out of the sun for extended periods of the day. I was able to sit in total comfort right in front of the beach and swim in the early morning and evening when the sun is not too hot. June and Arturo are very gracious, accommodating hosts, and my boyfriend especially enjoyed chatting with Arturo about history, politics, and different things to do in the area. The shared kitchen is very well set up with everything you need to have small meals. The pictures on the website to not do the place justice. We took photographs that were amazing of the cabana looking out into the ocean, and the snorkeling is excellent right out front. My boyfriend and I saw Morey eels, lion fish, stingrays and all sorts of fish just 50 feet into the ocean. We ate at least five or six times at Casa cenote upon Arturo's suggestion and went to the Sunday barbecue. We had a lot of barbecue in our life but the owner who is from Texas made the best ribs we have ever had. There is an outdoor shower, and Tulum is only about ten minutes away. We are both very seasoned travelers who have been to many countries and this was one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen. Every morning June and Arturo put a little bit of pastry and coffee out right in front of the cabana for us. After early morning snorkeling there it was. It was such a sweet touch to a perfect trip.

  • We loved this place. We stayed in the casita that had a kitchen and still had a view of the beach. All of the places to stay were super close to the beach, but if you want to be right on the beach with nothing obstructing your view stay in cabana 1. In the casita the curtains were shear which made it feel less private, it you are there for a romantic holiday maybe choose the cabanas. The place was cute and clean, there were lots of lounge chairs and hammocks to choose from on the beach. If you plan to get in the water definitely bring some reef shoes. The water is shallow and there are some rocks and shells beneath your feet. Overall I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

  • This place was perfect for us! We like traveling independently and we are not into resorts and organized tours. June's place was just the thing. The scenery is spectacular. right on a beautiful private beach in a lovely cove. Both we and our kids loved it. Watching three young pelicans dive for fish all day long provided for hours of entertainment. walking over to the tide pools to the north was interesting. Snorkeling "right from home" is a luxury. It was also great to have an outdoor hot shower so that we could wash off salt and sand without bringing it into our rooms. We used the outdoor kitchen and grill quite a bit. All the staff was friendly, helpful, attentive and kept the rooms and property clean. We'll be back.

  • This place is ideal if you want something quiet, relaxed and out of the way. The beach is not as beachy as Tulum beach (less sand, more coral) but the bay is gorgeous, you can still get into the water and snorkel and there can' t be a better spot to lie in a hammock, dreaming away... plus breakfast on the beach can't be beat!
